This piece was very much outside of my comfort zone(interior environments), but I wanted to challenge myself and make something different from my usual work.

"Look, I know you don't believe that traveling across dimensions is possible, but all my calculations prove that it is," Boone explained, slowly backing up. "Imagine how much we could gain, what we could learn from other realities! There are whole worlds that evolved differently from our own!"

Miguel wasn't duped. Feeling his frustration reach concerning levels, he set his hands on his hips, trying to prevent his talons from popping out.

"You're stalling. Why? What did you do?"

"Miguel? What’s going on?"

From the corner of his eyes, he saw Dana approach cautiously, holo clutched in her hand. He barely glanced her way; just long enough to note she was wearing a new suit. And had gotten her hair trimmed. He did not linger on that.

"This isn't any of your business. Go home, Dana. You’ve already done enough as it is," he snapped.

"Excuse me? What’s that supposed to mean?" she answered, outraged.

And then it happened. The lights on the floor around the portal lit one by one as the machine started to whir and a manic smile stretched over Jordan’s face.

This is not my story but @tytach's entry for the Spiderverse Big Bang! It is so, so, sooo good that I want more people to see it!

Ty has absolutely put in the work to make a compelling story that is made even better by stunningly spot on characterization, great jokes and an amazing attention to lore.

Just beware, it's made to hit you hard in the feels during the finale. Miguel didn't get to where he is in Into the Spiderverse with a good ending.

Nothing scheduled to be posted today (other than day two and three of @omegaversesteddieweek if we're lucky) for my big end of hiatus week so let's do WIP Wednesday (and @lady-lostmind posted first and tagged me in it, so all the more reason to do it!)

Word game: Send me a word and if it’s in my fic I’ll post the snippet it’s in. If not I’ll write three sentences and post those.

Scene game: Send me a pair (or group) of characters and if there’s a scene between the two (or more) of them I’ll post the snippet. If not three new sentences.

CALLING ALL SPIDERS!

We are so excited to announce the return of the Spider-Verse Big Bang!

It's been a few years since we ran this version of the event, but the interest for it has exceeded all of our expectations so we know this is going to be the best iteration we've seen!

Rules, guidelines, and more information on the event will be coming out throughout the week, so keep an eye on this space!

In the meantime, remember that sharing this post, telling your friends on other sites, and spreading the word about the event will ensure we have creators from all over the inter-web to participate in this event! The more participants = the more variety we get!

The one thing we can share right now is that ALL Spiders are welcome! Any universe, any franchise, any Spider. We are even considering Spider-Sonas, but this is still up in the air. (At the moment, we are allowing them as long as other Spider-characters are present, but whether they will be allowed as the main character or not is to be determined. Let us know if this is something you'd be interested in!)

We're also going to be adding this form if you would like to be notified when sign ups open. It is not a sign up link and is strictly to be given an email when the sign ups open on July 1st!

We can't wait to get this event going!! Thanks to everyone who filled out the interest form and thank you for spreading the word.
