Overall Boothill is a very fun elder brother who wants to keep you safe.

You woke up to the feeling of being moved from your spot on your desk. you had been working on one of your tech projects, spending hours on end tinkering away in your room. vis is in the torture labyrinth for a couple decades. life sucks husband sucks everyone is weird about him. very death in venice people are weird about the boy type deal. has to wade through gender and sexuality politics of westeros which means several men going utterly insane about him including a couple kingsguard knights (celibate hypermasculine freaks bound to be insane sexually). one point early-ish on he DOES start believing this one kingsguard knight will save him from The Hells The Horrors but maegor finds out and kills that guy adn sexually humiliates viserys in front of the kingsguard and makes their son watch. So that fucks up vis' psyche for a while :3

rhaena and alysanne try to convince him to rebel and run away that they will use their dragons and fight. but maegor has made vis so paranoid and crazy he thinks maegor knows everything knows all his thoughts so he's terrified of plotting escape cos he thinks maegor will kill everyone. plus maegor made sure to force kids onto him early so that vis wouldnt be able to leave :3 world's most evil babytrap of all time.

vis doesnt interact with anyone except rhaena aly maegor his kids and the kingsguard so yeah its bad for him. ceryse hangs around for a while but shes like yeah i dont want any part of this shit dude being queen is NAWT worth it and she goes back to the hightower to plot marrying her niece off to maegor's son.

also there's a curse on the kingsguard all of them die really horribly and early. its a fun little thing for me personally because in f&b maegor's kinsguard is cartoonishly bad and jae's is cartoonishly perfect so i though Hey what if we did a little curse on the kingsguard ey. that would be fun. the only guy who stays long is a bracken because brackenfail cancels out knightfail. he's all godly and pissy about the gay marriage thing but he's also a monarchist so even though he think maegor is satan he's like well. he is my king i must serve him i obey my vows. he thinks viserys is a freak of nature but slowly grows to respect him and helps kill maegor + takes the fall for it. they have a weird father figure/white knight/weird tension thing that never gets consummated yay ^_^ the maegor torture labyrinth will have you 21 years old and best friends with a 50 year old celibate knight like dang where tf ser bracken at today 🥹

viserys snaps in 66AC with no like big catalyst or anything. he just has a good day where he's mostly lucid and he's angry and he's tired of everything and he's sick of maegor and he wants freedom he wants to be free. he wants to breath the air without panicking that maegor is going to hurt him. and maegor says some disgusting comment to him while theyre alone in the throne room and vis just snaps and start fighting him. daenys shows up cos she had her own Visions and Voices and they just start whaling on him. bracken knight helps too he takes most of maegor's counter attacks his organs are all over the floor but maegor dies impaled on the throne YAY

vis is like. A bit better for a while. his son is now king and vis is seeing that oh it doesnt get better does it people will still die. also his son jae has this weird oedipus complex about him thanks to maegor's insane parenting and viserys is fully aware of that so its not fun times for him. jae and daenys try to make him better try to invent therapy but its the middle ages they dont have that yet. they finally send him off to harrenhal (BAD IDEA) because they think viserra (the elder daughter btw, the tyanna one) might be able to cure him with her weird witchcraft. they think she's insane too but its the last option... viserra thinks vis is lame and weak but she does love him in ehr own way or maybe just pities him. anyway she does her best and it works for a while but viserys sorta gives up cos the depression is too much. and viserra believes in euthanasia as a mercy and thinks this is best for him this will let him be at peace. daenys has a premonition about it and tries to stop him. she has a big blowout fight with jae about it too and curses his bloodline and prophesises the long night. burned the red keep a little bit, you know how it is.

blah blah blah anyway daenys and vis end up dying in the gods eye together in a murder/suicide suicide/suicide murder/murder whatever. viserra has the lake dragged and they're found holding each other like a mother and her fetus :3

Virus Mlp ideas

Okay so I'm not actually that into Mlp but I have been seeing these horror virus Mlp series so uh yea! :D

Basically, my idea is that it started orally. What do I mean? Well, I haven't really cleaned the idea up yet (I don't plan to actually use these so why should I?) but the idea is that Pinkie Pie basically got a cupcake as a gift from a friend who was at a party she had recently hosted. However, unknown to the two of them, the cupcake had gotten an influx of magic or something in it. So basically uh- you know their cutie marks??

Well, they have magic in them (I think???) and I feel like magic will almost always be warm/hot unless in other circumstances. So, how do they get them? I imagine it like most people imagine Undertale monsters get them, food! So, if a certain cupcake has an unreasonable amount of mafic in it then surely it would have bad side effects for the poor victim

And so this is how I imagine the symptoms are:

-Overheating

-Heat related irritation to the Cutiemark

-The glowing of the Cutiemark

-Aggression (caused by near constant overheating of the body and especially Cutiemark)

-Obsession/compulsion to complete tasks related to cutie mark (In Pinkie's case, she has random bursts of energy ((From the heat bc particles or something)) and will jump around trying to find items or just different ways to start a party or get everyone in a good or silly mood like what comes from parties)

-Lack of sleep (Duh, overheating)

-Headaches (Heat related, always heat related)

-And, most concerningly, the melting of the inside body

But why are they melting!? And how soon does this happen?? Well, because of the immense amount of magic the magic needs to form somewhere and so it chooses the closest thing to it, heat (Wow, so shocking). However, normal ponies can't handle that much and can melt. So, despite the magic trying not to EXPLODE in the body or something it's still harming the pony who isn't equipped to handle it even throughout their entire body.

Now, that's how the 'virus' works. But how would the ponies react and how would they be transferred the virus? Well uh- idk. BUT, it does turn airborne as (I'm trying to actually figure it out for yall bc I forgot abt this part srry ;p) the magic is trying to safely enter the body but can't leave all at once because of magic deficiency as well as heat deficiency. So, it goes to other ponies, and some ponies also get it orally which spreads it faster or something.

And so, Rarity soon gets afflicted with it. Unlike the now overactive Pinkie Pie, Rarity has gotten slower. It's like her own bones are melting first, so much sowing and dress making has made her 'arm' wrists worn and easy for melting. And so, she huddles in her home making dress after dress for all the people she can think of, friends, family, enemies, strangers she'd seen around town. Everyone, some even getting multiple. She knows she is ill and while Sweety Bell wants to help her sister, Rarity hides her issues as to not worry the only young sibling she wishes to have. She wishes to use her generosity to the fullest in what she believes will be her final months. She could be correct, if the magic continues to uncomfortably heat her body up like a pot being boiled. Sadly, no one has noticed the most blatant sign due to the fact that she wears dresses, suits, anything to hide her glowing Cutiemark. While she loves her mark and it's color, she cannot stand the glow as it reminds her of the sweltering heat of her home. Maybe she should open more windows, that will help right?

The next person who gets afflicted (Not come into contact) is Rainbowdash. I don't have a way she get's afflicted so I'll just make it up and you can flesh it out yourself. Rainbowdash had been so worried for Pinkie, yes she'd always been energetic but this was almost concerningly so. Her pink hair had gotten fluffier, and while Rainbowdash doesn't mind it's a sign that Pinkie's going too fast and is messing with her hair. So, she talks and hangs around Pinkie, nervously trying to see what's wrong and how to help. She is loyal after all. However, it comes to her falling as the magic has clung to her and made her faster than ever. She has Pinkie's issue, being too energetic. She doesn't understand why, but she can't help but want to fly and speed around all day with no breaks. And so she does, she speeds across town and forest and city and ocean, and then back home. It would have made a Sonic Rainboom, but only if she stopped. Passerby's see her and mention only one identifiable thing, her almost aflame rainbow hair. It's frizzed and spiked leading behind her due to her flight. She doesn't seem to notice. Maybe she can fly this energy and heat off...

AppleJack is next, and I didn't make any for her either. However, her affliction is probably pretty clear. She probably becomes more worried for her farm, obsessively thinking about it and her apples. Oh, her apples. She starts worrying about missing one, so she goes to the farm every morning and afternoon and she kicks her trees as hard as she can. Her hooves hurt, and the trees are dented and scary looking and look almost rotting, but she knows she must do this. She must be able to let her family farm thrive. So, if she has to ugly things up a bit, she doesn't mind. Granny does though, as well as her brother and sister. They don't know how to stop her worries.

Fluttershy would probably never leave her home, tending to her animals and trying to cool them off. It's so hot here, they must be so warm too. Yet, they freeze and chitter as if in winter. How odd. Surely, if she makes them colder like she wants someone to do to her, they will feel better. She'd feel better colder. The animals must be too hot. It's way too hot. Maybe she should add snow?

Spike probably can handle the heat tbh lmao

Twilight Sparkle is the second person to come into contact with the 'Virus', after Pinkie of course. She instantly notices her being ill and constantly tries to help yet she's so bouncy she gets out of her grasp. She ends up going to Celestia, who is bothered by this. How could Pinkie be so sick? Yet, it gets worse. More and more cases pop up, everyone is overheating in autumn and Twilight is concerned. I imagine she's in her princess wing and horn combo, so she can handle the heat and not get sick. Does she know that? No, but she's always been a little cold after being gifted wings.

Celestia and Luna both have never personally come across this disease, their bodies are built to withstand heaps of magic as it takes a lot to handle the actual sun and moon. So when everyone is hot because of magic, they both don't understand. They've been so cold for so long, it's hard to imagine such heat. Will they ever understand the issues of their kingdom? Maybe.

Chrysalis is.. Okay, so my first idea was that her army was like her kids??? I was thinking of bugs honestly lol. But the idea was that her army would get sick with the 'virus' (She had captured a sick pony and they got the sickness airborne) and because of their lack of cutie marks they would end up weaker. Also, because of their holes I imagine that they aren't all that strong/immune to illnesses so when they're struck by this they're all in despair. Why? Because they're MELTING. They are seeing each other melt and die to the heat and they don't understand it. Why wont their mother save them? Will Love help? How much love can fix this, and can they obtain it? The queen is doing no better, seeing all her people go so ill they cannot move. She herself, while much stronger, is not able to combat the magic and has faced her own weakness in her limbs. She blames the ponies of Equestria for this, for if that one pony had not been here no one would be dying. Of course, this is absolutely a genocide plan created by Celestia and Twilight, if she can get her hooves on them she'd make sure that everyone knew how much a lie immortality is.

hello i dont have any energy to rewrite all my fanfiction ideas for this quest bc i made this long ass post abt it in detail but it didnt save and now i feel so hollow and numb. im going through every stage of grief right now, currently at stage 4, depressed.

all i ask is for xiao chasm content. please. i beg. SOMEONE, LITERALLY ANYONE PLEASE MAKE XIAO FOUND FAMILY CONTENT

and then put him through an indescribable amount of pain and turmoil as he fails to accept his yaksha friends are dead and faces the slow realization he has no family, other than zhongli, left.

for now i'll just share a few of my daydreams at its most basic level and hope to god somewhere in the world a genshin writer will take this idea and bring it to life

yaksha found family + reader witnessing all of it, being an outsider as another weaker yaksha.

where you, unaware of the suffering and pain that comes with the responsibility of being one of the five yakshas, hope to get an ounce of understanding for them like they do with one another, hoping to be part of what seems like a "family."

yearning to gain even a bit of that familial warmth, you glance over to observe them on the sidelines and smile at the sounds of their contagious laughter directed at xiao's now fully-painted face.

as years pass by, you watch in horror as each yaksha slowly succumbs to the darkness of their karma one by one, never returning to that bright family dynamic they forgot about.

finally, when xiao, the youngest of all of them, the only one remaining, tries to recover from the loss of valiant warriors he considered his siblings, you console him, experiencing a pain similar to his. both of you support one another awaiting the day you can reunite with the rest of the yakshas again.

this can really extend as much as it wants to starting off w wholesome shenanigans and then angst to possible hurt comfort or just you and xiao wailing in pain together. i love a good slow burn so thats my personal request, like each paragraph written above can be extended to a whole post and split up into a whole series, but really its up to whoever wants to take up my challenge to make it however they want.

xiao and reader dynamic:

in this case i feel like xiao bonds with reader where they feel this mutual emptiness but in different kinds of ways.

you feel alone in the world, you feel excluded from the rest of the yakshas, you long for something you don't have and haven't had in a long time, for that bond that effortlessly ties the five yakshas together. despite being surrounded by so many people you constantly feel like not one of them understands.

you want to be with anyone as long as it's someone. but you have no one. there are so many thoughts, feelings and emotions but there's no one to share them with no one who cares enough to listen. you wish for what the yaksha's have, the family they built on their mutual suffering and joys, where they all understand each others pain because they all share the same experiences.

you feel like no matter how kind or nice or strong and heroic you are or can train to be nobody thinks to call or ask anything of you, its this numbing feeling that prods in your chest at the loneliest and quietest of days, it's not like they're outwardly avoiding you, quite the opposite. they tell you to join, but however close you are to them you still feel distant, and when you part for your more meagre duties compared to their wider scale dangerous tasks, the rift between you and the family increases.

you don't feel upset, nor do you feel hurt, if anything you feel acceptance. it's normal. at times you feel gratitude; a warm feeling bubbling inside whenever they come to talk to you. happiness; whenever you see their doting towards one another, their dumb pranks and stupid jokes.

as an outsider, a weaker yaksha, you watch the adepti you've looked up to for so long from a distance and internally relish in the joy of their shared happiness.

whereas xiao is longing for something he's had before but can't do anything to get back, its this feeling of hopelessness and this agonizing need to go back to how things were, how he was before. he's distraught with the frustration and regret of not being able to get back what was lost and never being able to experience anything similar to it again. its sporadic. sudden. when the yaksha's slowly disappear, after years of investing in them from afar you end up feeling this way too, this same hole in your chest, this unshakable itch at the back of your mind that won't go away. the bond that you hoped to join, the joy you've observed for so long and the happiness you secretly chewed off of no longer exists.

now that you and xiao are the last yaksha left, perhaps you can form a new bond over your losses together.

THIS IS JUST FOR INSPO ON HOW TO WRITE THEM BTW!! do it literally however u want i just thought this would be really cool and emotional to write cuz like theres readers loneliness built up over the years and then theres xiaos mourning and that sudden period of grief and then the awkward sort of mutual sadness they feel in the end

family dynamic inspo:

xiao being the temperamental, more self centered youngest and bosacius acting as the more protective self-sacrificing eldest brother. followed by indarius (pyro yaksha) the second oldest almost mom-like, bubbly and loud friend, the walmart zhongli as the mediator, calm middle child and bonanus (hydro yaksha) as the second youngest, possessing a more timid, polite and shy aura.

and when xiao is left alone, he tries to remember all his happiest memories with each of his friends. he longs for them, he longs for the past so much that it hurts. he wants to be his old self, to get rid of this aching loneliness but as each happy memory flashes by, he spirals into a deeper pit of sadness and activates this haunting feeling in his heart that feels like something is missing. recounting the memories of his loved ones, he swears that this will never happen to anyone close to him again. even at the cost of his own life. in the midst of his vulnerability, he unknowingly engrains that very same savior complex his leader, no, his brother bosacius once had.

i dont normally send asks but i came across ur blog and you have some really cool ideas when it comes to personification stuff,, ur like one of the few other ppl ive found that actually includes polandball and countryhumans in personified fandom stuff so id love to hear ur ideas abt them!! as someone with a fascination with fandom history id be down to discuss stuff more with u if u wanna

uh *checks notes* I am going to assume you mean their dynamic/hcs about each!! I’ve never delved very deeply into Countryhumans fandom history/her dynamics with the others because. Controversy but I still do have lots of ideas about her. And she is *the* quintessential Canonless G(A) fandomspirit to me, probably because she’s the first one I was part of. You get into G(A) through Hetalia, Countryhumans, or Polandball mostly and they’re the faces of the whole place so,,, very well defined House triad here.

What I do say is CH is PB and Hetalia’s conceptual daughter (her premise is kind of both of theirs mashed together) but Hetalia and the other two are separated by the Canon-Canonless divide (and the fact that he has a husband) and thus don’t talk as much. (Which is funny because his two actual sons, Fandomstuck and Socialstuck, are both Canonless.) Also, he gets into Reality more often because he has more cosplayers. But their dynamic is more like older-younger sibling, they swing back and forth between working together well (sharing headcanons and Netizens) and actually beating each other up (raids). From what I’ve seen, and I’m mostly saying this from CH’s POV, he’s more likely to start it than she is.

Both of them are a little scared of each other, PB because he has a lot of overlap with her and is the closest to seeing inside of her brain (he’s read her writing before) and is uncomfortable around it, CH because she can never tell when PB is being sarcastic and when he actually means what he says. She usually assumes he’s being serious.

Also, fandomspirits don’t get as possessive of their people as much as OTJs do, which, considering the way they feed, is probably a good thing. So they don’t fight about who gets the food; they’re content, and CH even likes receiving less because it’s made her swings less severe.

I have no idea what’s going on with her right now because I can’t check her tag and no longer use Wattpad (her Wattpad room is way more active than her AO3 room from what I remember) for personal reasons, but is the Save the Countryhumans Fandom thing still happening?

Fun fact: she’s the second fandomspirit of Countryhumans. The first one was the Country Guardian, Nadia. She got thrown into temporary leave for killing another Guardian which she felt (feels) guilty about even with most of her memories wiped.

asking abt the sad wheeler sibling thing

i am in the business of ruining everyone's (especially nic's @messrsbyler) day with sad wheeler sibling ideas so here is my pitch for a book 4 scene

(on a side note. i need to like. probably explain this more in terms of my thoughts on themes in the books but that's another ask for later lol. in my brain this series goes something like

Book 1: Water

Book 2: Earth

Book 3: Fire

Book 4: Air)

so, we're to book 4 now, and we're near the beginning of the plot that occurs in this book. henry returns to hawkins, and long and short of it, somehow, el/will/mike end up fighting him, somewhere separated enough to where the others can't help (or the others are preoccupied by spirit attacks. don't ask me the how all this happened/what the set up is yet bc i have Not One Clue lol).

el is obviously the primary one fighting henry, while will and mike are there trying to help keep spirits from her, and one way or another, el gets up getting injured and knocked unconscious by henry. so now, will, who is still trying to figure out his own connection to the spirit world and the abilities that this connection gives him, is forced to fight henry. it becomes very, very clear though that henry is far too powerful since he manages to toss will aside—though not injuring him as badly as el gets injured, just knocking him out for a few moments.

and henry turns to mike and begins attacking him, which i talk about more here. will is partially conscious but unable to get up because he's still out of it, so he's watching in horror as henry does to mike what he did to max (and what he did to will, a couple years ago). with all three of them now rendered useless or close to dead, henry leaves, to do what? no clue, i'll figure it out later or maybe nic will!

after seeing mike fall back to the ground, will manages to crawl over to him, and he quickly realizes mike isn't breathing, so he desperately starts trying to save mike. i think about this scene as a parallel of sorts to the lucas trying to save max scene, except while lucas was only able to keep max's heart beating, will is only able to help mike breathe but not restart his heart. he's crying, begging mike to hold on, and screaming for anyone to come help him.

nancy's the first to find them, and will, panicked and breathless and crying, begs her to come help—because nancy can bend lightning. she can restart mike's heart and help save him. will needs her to help him save mike. he needs nancy.

but this is nancy, and god, i hope everyone knows that i love nancy wheeler with my whole heart and also that i love gray areas. because nancy sees that el is unconscious too, sees a pool of blood around the avatar, and it's her first instinct not to go to mike but to go to el.

and nancy quickly realizes el's heart has stopped, el isn't breathing, and they're about to lose el too. they're about to lose the avatar—the only person who can beat henry.

if they lose el, it's game over. henry will take over the world long before the next avatar comes along, and he'll always be one step ahead of them. his deep connection to the spirits will help him find the next avatar long before anyone else does. they cannot lose el.

and nancy knows this.

so even though her little brother is there, pale and lifeless and only breathing because of will's airbending, nancy makes the hard call. how is it always her being forced into these situations? how is nancy always having to choose between duty/the bigger picture/what will matter most in the long run and the people she loves and cares about? and sure. nancy has never been that close to mike. they've struggled their whole lives to get along, and their firebending has always been a point of contention—the unfortunate result of their parents' expectations and inability to show either of them genuine love.

but this is still her little brother. and nancy wants to scream, because this isn't fair, but there's no doubt in her mind what she needs to do. el comes first. restart el's heart. ignore will's screaming and begging for her to help mike. block out the sight of mike's body, limp in will's arms. just focus. do what has to be done.

nancy chooses el, but really, nancy chooses the avatar. nancy chooses the world.

i would say addie larue if you haven't read it already but that is very hit or miss. yes very white blah blah But it's about how desperately we want to leave a mark on the world and be remembered by someone and what happens when we cant do that. personally felt like i was grieving past versions of myself even tho the entire book is abt two white ppl

Let me talk abt something.. Don't get mad (pls don't attack me)

In my experience as a person with siblings, I was disappointed with the conclusion of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, particularly in relation to THAT route which seems to have sparked quite the debate. (Incest route) I get the logic behind incorporating that specific horror trope in a game of this genre; it can add a sense of revulsion, shock, etc., however, the way it was carried out is really icky, in my opinion.

Certainly, the narrative device works well in representing the unhealthy, symbiotic relationship between the two main characters, infusing their dynamic with an ominous undercurrent. However, there is a clear distinction between writing this element into the narrative and fetishizing it.

From where I stand, it seems as if the game's creator has a peculiar obsession with this trope, which comes across as in bad taste. While the shock value undeniably leaves a lasting impression and the core idea of the game is indeed captivating, the actual execution falls short. Some aspects of the writing shine, while others are lackluster and don't quite pack the horror punch they intend to. The game, being long-drawn and with several outcomes, appears to over-rely on this odd component to establish a horrific ambiance, a goal that it, regrettably, doesn't manage to achieve. The incest route fails to give off the sense of horror, especially from what I've seen in other games where fucked up stuff like that is, so yeah.. weird fetish.

he doesn't really have friends until childe comes along. and childe is a social butterfly. he is friends with the whole school but not really, he is outgoing, quite smart too and just funny to be around. he can be a jerk sometimes, but aren't we all sometimes too? he befriends xiao first for a selfish reason, hoping he would get a bit of quiet from all the noise in his life. but then he realizes how he enjoys xiao's company and sticks around.

later, when they're really thick and probably somthing like best friends, childe will admit that to xiao and they almost have a fallout

and when hu tao comes around? yeah well, prepare for chaos. childe and hu tao go along so well and you bet after a while, when Xiao feels comfortable enough, he will try and curb their chaos. not that he succeds.

hu tao still feels bad sometimes about how much she ruined from xiao's stuff, which is why she started spoiling him. she is well off, probably from a rich family, just like childe. they will spoil all the sadness and angst from xiao away

you bet hu tao is the reason why xiao now has a starbucks and bubble tea addiction this is how he meets other friends, on his own but that's for another time

yk what, with anti social and introvert xiao... gamer!xiao. what is he even doing the whole time in his room? yeah well, of course he studies, but he can't study the whole ass time and this is how he slowly became a gamer. not that many know that

thanks to hu tao and childe he comes out of his shell, dressing up a bit (xiao has style. he just has a style not everyone would approve. war core/dark and tech wear. he has style and the clothes, just not the confidence wearing it) and even putting his eyeliner back on (you bet he suddenly becomes the crush of so many people)

hu tao and childe are confident people, and he somehow has to keep up. he finds his confidence once again (if we want to make this especially angsty, he was a very confident, if a bit silent child. but his family and all the teasing/bullying made him lose his confidence)

oh and if we want to create more plot, childe is a somewhat well known influencer and hu tao hops on that train too. it's easy for them to gain more followers and reach, and the extra money is certainly welcome. xiao ponders if he should start doing this too, but somehow... he's not really comfortable with that. he wants to do this in his own way. (que, xiao being the 'unreachable, mystery, but lovable and gorgeous influencer)

but he starts with streaming first, his fan base grows fast because,,, xiao is so calm, he loves all the games he plays and is so passionate about it!! he is an avid animal crossing player, always building and creating on his island and proudly showing it off to his viewers. they praise him and shower him with compliments, and he always gets all shy and blushy and you bet they will coo over him and only make things worse better

ok so crackpot theory time: smthn smthn the mandela catalogue here on earth is like… teyvat/celestia/something trying to give us information about the situation on teyvat? like it’s here because we need to know about it if- when we descend to teyvat once more. the original alternate damaged us and hurt our ‘soul’ or whatever so we’ve been living out human lives for ever and ever, slowly healing by the ‘faith’ from out human connections. it isn’t as strong and would take literal billions of years, but what if the people in teyvat don’t worship the alternate!creator themself, but rather worship the title of the creator, i. e. the true creator, or you. this allows you to descend to teyvat at all without it being entirely ruined by the alternates.

Sexuality Headcanon: bi but primarily into women (like I am the first person to be annoyed when people On Line act like the one universal experience of bisexuality is abt being into all women and like three men bc that's blatantly untrue for lots of people but I do think it's true for edelgard) Gender Headcanon: she's not one of the fe3h characters whom I'm just fully incapable of not reading as trans like her story still works for me if she's a cis woman but I am very very compelled by the idea of her as a trans woman. something abt her determination to take back her autonomy & ownership over her own body hits as a trans narrative Imo A ship I have with said character: many of them, since she has many women who are very sapphicly obsessed with her and also her goth bestie hubert who in some ways is also a woman who is sapphicly obsessed with her since hubert is 1) obsessed with her and 2) a trans woman to me. special shout outs also to dorothea, the opera singer who fantasizes abt playing the role of edelgard in an opera based on edelgard's life, and monica, who has perfect photographic memory which she uses for remembering everything edelgard has ever said to her and everything edelgard has ever done and also who is meant to be doing what chore A BROTP I have with said character: hubert tbh. like I know I included him as a ship option and I do enjoy them kissing but also the thing is that they are each other's best (and for a while only) friend, and for a long time the only person they each trust, and he has shaped his entire life around being someone who can kill & die for her and this is all endlessly compelling to me A NOTP I have with said character: swings bat at hornet's nest. byleth tbh. so. okay. a thing I don't love abt fe3h more generally is how unearned some characters' trust/fixation/reliance/etc on byleth feels to me personally. there are some characters who care a lot abt byleth in ways that make sense (leonie, who has a connection with byleth's father, or linhardt, who likes studying people's weird magic situations and oh boy does byleth have a weird magic situation, for example). but there are other characters who get introduced as untrusting/independent/etc who then begin to make major life choices because of byleth in a way that I find unconvincing and unsatisfying. and for me, edelgard is one of these characters A random headcanon: I think she used to play a musical instrument like violin or piano with her siblings, and she wasn't ever especially good but it was a fun thing to do together. and she doesn't remember that anymore (have I told u abt this part of her whole deal? anyway she used to have a bunch of siblings and they died and she doesn't have many memories of her childhood anymore due to. the horrors) but sometimes she still like. gets a song they used to play stuck in her head and doesn't know why it makes her so sad General Opinion over said character: I just think she's neat! interesting character, lots of potential for tasty tragedy, so many fun relationships with other characters, cool design

had such an funny array of experiences the other night at that bar and I've been reflecting on it and wanting to write about it very much.....

on one hand i saw my friends sibling who i haven't seen in quite a while, and he was more outwardly open and excited and chatty than hes been for probably the whole ten years I've known him. like, he even invited me to his bands show? he never invites anyone! he's notorious in our crowd for being very, like... idk. ive heard lots of things - "particular", "difficult to work with", perfectionist... but he was totally different.

he brought his new boyfriend along, and we all had a long silly talk about sneaking into cons when we were kids, navigating the precarious world of gender soup (he understands my soup probably better than anyone, cis trans or otherwise, that I've ever met! it felt great!), the different creative projects were working on (he went to college for video game soundtrack composition at a really prestigious school - super talented!), got really excited when we realized we never had any idea one another had bugsonas and excitedly shared art of our respective bug guys... oh and his boyfriend recognized Dr. Habit on my phone lock/background?! it was the first time anyone's ever recognized anything SFM related on me in the wild ! so that was cool!

and on the other hand... my friend (his brother)'s girlfriend who i've been trying to give an honest fair shake in getting to know was there as well. and like, i think surface wise most people look at her and assume she's like, very ... leftist? and I'm sure she thinks she is, too. but every time i talk to her she sneaks in some kinda backhanded comment about women. i get a big internalized misogyny plus Italian familial politics vibe. and i found myself talking to her abt similar topics, because she said to me she's never seen her boyfriends brother so animated before! and i said well this might be my personal experience coloring things, but being out makes a massive difference in someone's ability to just, like, exist happily! and she wasn't sure what i meant by that, so i explained, and she was like "oh, well i guess i don't understand why you're choosing to identify in a neutral or masc leaning way but you dress like a girl?" and i explained that first off, i appreciate not getting it, but the first step is recognizing that there is no one right way to be a man or a woman, and if we accept gender nonconforming behavior from cis people then why don't we accept it from trans people? why do i have to be a caricature of manhood for you to see me as transmasc? and it kind of got through to her but... not entirely, because her line of questioning was a little ... invasive and unkind in a bad faith way (i have a LOT of patience for folks who may "get it wrong" but engage with me in a good faith way). like she was tryna play gotcha or something.

and i suppose the juxtaposition - people who are quietly queer suddenly becoming loudly queer and, as a result, happier, vs. people who are vocally supportive, but only when a person fits their narrative of what a queer person should look or act like... well. it was not lost on me!

and it also reminded me that sometimes, when you get a vibe about a person, you should trust your gut! it's ok to think, yeah, this isn't a nice person, im gonna protect myself! because if i continued engaging with her, the conversation might have gone very poorly. it certainly has in the past. (for example, apparently bee and puppycat was, and i quote, "too woke" for her. she got really mad when i laughed about it and realized with horror that she wasn't kidding). i feel bad for my friend (her boyfriend) for being in the middle of it, sorta. he's a easygoing simple dude who is wildly supportive of his brother and however he chooses to identify, and frankly i don't think he knows a whole lot about this side of his girlfriend because to him, he doesn't really seek out those kinda conversations. not obviously that it's never come up, but yeah. i know him well enough to know he doesn't share those feelings with her, and it's always really shocking to me to hear her express them - but always when he isn't around. so much so that in the past when I've expressed concern about it, he didn't believe me at first! (then other folks started saying the same thing.)

idk. life is cool and weird and i am happy to be a cool and weird little guy.
