I got a bunch of new followers (hello 💖) bc of Inktober, and I came across this tag game today (on @vacationgerry 's blog!) so I figured I'd answer these questions as a sort of introduction :))
1. Why did you choose your url?
My name is Danika and a 4 year old English girl once, 15+ years ago, called me Danicat. I loved that so much that it's been my username most places since. It used to be danicat91 bc it wasn't available without numbers, but I hated the numbers so I changed it to the German version Danikatze a few years ago. (it's daanikatze on twitter and ig)
2. Any side blogs?
@danifanatic where I rb stuff is the only active one. I have another where I collect art refs/advice and only to never look at it anymore. And another one where I posted original art but that one's dead too (I don't make enough original art and I prefer posting it here anyway)
3. How long have you been on tumblr?
Since 2012 I think
4. Do you have a queue tag?
for my sideblog yeah. It's "q"
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
.. bc I wanted to post nsfw stuff and I heard this is where I could do it hehe. I deleted most of it since then. I had a nsfw sideblog for a bit, but I deleted that too a few years ago bc it was dying anyway and then the porn ban happened and I got sick of it.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
I love (and in some ways relate to) Shino and he's wearing one of my favourite hoodies in that one. Just really pleased with that drawing overall!
7. Why did you choose your header?
I thought it was cute and Wai just makes me happy :) (She's kinda my air bison oc? My best friend gave me an Appa plushie and it looked nothing like him, and so Wai was born ^^)
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
My dog dad Kakashi comic.. Almost 30k notes now
9. How many mutuals do you have?
Around 15 I think? I've talked to maybe 5 or 6 of them hahah
10. How many followers do you have?
A few thousand, but I accumulated them so slowly that I feel like half of them must've left tumblr by now hahah.
11. How many people do you follow?
78
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
In hindsight I guess the dog dad Kakashi comic is pretty much a shitpost ^^;
13. How often do you use Tumblr each day?
Err about 15-30 min every morning and then compulsively checking the rest of the day
14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
Once, wwwaay in the beginning.. I followed someone who kept bullying one of their friends. I told them said friend didn't seem to think it was funny at all, and they told me to mind my own business, after which I unfollowed them. I've learned to just unfollow people when their blog makes me anxious in whatever way (if I can't blacklist the stuff that makes me uncomfortable)
15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
I skip those very quickly, or maybe see if I can rb another version.
16. Do you like tag games?
Yes, but tagging other people is bad for my anxiety :P
17. Do you like ask games?
Yeah! It's been a while since I've done one
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous?
idk?
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?
Oh for an aro person I crush so much.. Art crushes mostly, like a mutual will post something and I'll go 🥰 ohh 🥰 amazing 🥰 how skilled 🥰 how cute 🥰

Petra- A world wonder that is truly deserving of the name
Tumblr media
We have spent the past two days in Petra, a 2,000 year old Nabatean city that is carved out of ancient sandstone cliffs and looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It is the most famous site in Jordan, receiving over half a million visitors a year. Many people travel to Jordan just to see this site and I can see why. Made famous in modern times by movies like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Petra was famous long before that as the Nabatean capital city. The Nabateans came from nomadic tribes of desert people, who became extremely wealthy by controlling the trade routes between the Graeco-Roman kingdoms to the west and Indian and Chinese empires to the east. AJ want to insert more backstory here?
[Guy AJ: OK! Petra is to me a reminder of how fortune comes and goes and how it can build but also reduce empires. About 2,300 years ago a group of nomadic Arabs, later to be called the Nabateans, occupied parts of Southern Jordan and happened to be at the right place at the right time. The world was getting smaller and cultures were coming into contact with each other unlike ever before. Alexander the Great had just introduced half a continent to Greek society, sometimes after razing a town to the ground then building it back up with more floral patterns in their columns. Anyway, all this cultural exchange meant people wanted more things from further away places.
Tumblr media
And what better place to be at that time than Jordan? It is located at the converging point of Africa, Europe, and Asia, a crossroads of significance since the first of our species left Africa. The Nabateans controlled trade routes through this important hub, and were able to acquire great wealth from Indian spices on their way to Alexandria and Greek statues passing through to a Red Sea port. They used their wealth to construct massive and awe inspiring tombs in Petra, which AJ and I stared at in amazement over 2,000 years later, but Petra is so much more than a valley for the dead.
Petra is thought to have been a city of several tens of thousands of people, who bartered over goods in markets, practiced religious rites in temples, and debated public policy in the city’s civic center. The remains of these institutions are mostly in rubble in Petra’s basin area, but the thousands and thousands of potsherds we observed walking around are testimony to the many people who lived here in the literal shadows of the dead from the tombs that ring the city.
Petra was incredibly cosmopolitan - the tombs incorporated stepped motifs from Mesopotamia, obelisks from Egypt, and ornate entablatures from Greece. The columns at Petra are distinctly Nabatean, however, with tops that point out like bull horns unlike any other classical style I’ve seen.
Tumblr media
If fortune created Petra than a loss of fortune eroded it. By the time Petra was absorbed by the Roman Empire in the first century AD, new trade routes and greater confidence in seafaring made Petra increasingly obsolete. Although several earthquakes destroyed parts of the city in the following centuries, it is a ruin not from natural disasters but from money drying up and people gradually leaving to find better prospects elsewhere or to return to the way of life of those who founded Petra, herding in the Arabian desert like descendent Bedouin communities do to this day. Petra is a reminder that the good times don’t always last forever, cough, cough USA.]
Now that you have a little backstory, I’ll go into our experiences. Because we saw SO MUCH during our time in Petra, I’m going to write this blog post a little differently. Rather than chronicling everything, I’m going to narrow it down to the top five sites we saw and our top four practical tips. This should give a good overview of our experiences but also not take twenty years to write. Let’s start off with the practical and then get into the fun!
Top Four Practical Tips for visiting Petra
1)Go for more than one day, and stagger your entrance times
This probably increased our enjoyment of Petra tenfold. Through our Jordan Pass (which is a great deal by the way- it includes your visa fee and the entrance fees for every site we are going to visit in Jordan?!) we had bought two days in Petra. If you’re into archaeology, geology, nature, or just like to take it slower I recommend going for at least two days, because Petra is unique and wonderful and huge and there is just so much to see. You can check off the biggest of the sites in one intense sweaty day, but it is so much more enjoyable to take your time.
We decided to start off our first day super early, so we got into the park at the opening time of 6:00. Petra can get really crowded, but at 6:00 the only person there was the one sole ticket taker (we even got confused for a second, thinking that maybe the site was closed). This was such a good way to start off our first day because during the 40-50 min trek in we were often BY OURSELVES. This was especially cool during the walk through the siq, a box canyon with 500 ft. tall walls that meanders magically through to take you to the reveal of Petra’s most famous site- the Treasury. As we were leaving at 1:30 pm this walkway was packed with people and speeding carriages and decidedly less magical.
Tumblr media
Getting in early we were also able to appreciate the main sites without being inundated by other tourists or salespeople. We actually got photos of the Treasury without other people in them! At one point on our first day I was like “wow AJ we’ve done so much already, it must be time for lunch” but it was 8am.
Starting early, we were able to do the intense hike up to the ceremonial high place while the weather was still cool. During the downhill hour and a half meander through the Wadi Farasa trail it started to get hot, so I was very happy to not have to climb a bajillion stairs again. After that we we saw a couple more of the big tombs, but then during the hottest and most crowded part of the day we were able to peace out without guilt because we knew we had another day. It was only 1 pm when we began the hour trek home, but by that point we had already had a full 7 hour day.
On our second day, we slept in and got started at 10. We actually began at the museum (which is really well done!) so we didn’t make it into the park until 11:00. Because we had already seen a lot of the main sites we were able to walk straight through to the parts we hadn’t seen and take our time. Then in the mid afternoon we began our all uphill hike to Petra’s Monastery.
I was worried about hiking uphill during the hottest part of the day but because we had gotten a late started we had energy, and a good chunk of the path was shady (side note-this is supposed to be one of Petra’s low seasons because it supposedly gets so hot, but it was in the 80s for us- not too bad!). We were able to have a picnic and enjoy the views, and then walk back through Petra during golden hour right before sunset. Again, there were almost no people! I think many visitors do a quick one day tour where they come in between 10-11 and only stay for a couple of hours. It was so nice to have the full two days in Petra, to get it when it was not crowded, and to see it in the different types of sunlight.
2) Think of the practicalities (you’re going to be doing a lot of hiking)
So real talk, AJ and I looked like dorks in Petra. We were wearing long sleeve tactical hiking gear with pants and had backpacks on with 10 liters of water and snacks (& when I say WE carried 10 liters of water I really mean guy AJ did, he’s such a beast). And yet we saw people in fancy dresses and high heels with no water?? Granted not everyone has to hike for 8 hours a day like we did, but it’s still at least a 50 min hike in through the dirt. You can buy water in the site, but it is way overpriced and it was nice to never have to worry about getting stranded somewhere without it. Plus we drank all of it and never got dehydration headaches👌🏻. It’s also fun to pack in a picnic to enjoy in the park. There are a couple restaurants in the site, but if you bring your own you can pick your spot (with lots of awesome views to choose from). There are also toilets on site, but it’s good to bring tp and handsanitizer because they are often not well stocked. Since it gets super sunny, wearing pants and a long sleeve t-shirt was clutch for the rocky trails, sun protection, and out of respect because despite tourist short shorts, we are still in a Muslim county.
Tumblr media
If nothing else, at least wear tennis shoes and bring water.
3) Climb to some high places and get some views!
We did two uphill hikes while in Petra, one to the Ceremonial High Place (for ceremonies) and one to the Monastery. We took both slowly, and while they were steep & straight up hill, there were steps that made them doable. Each climb took about 45-60 minutes one way, with lots of breaks. The views at the end made them all worthwhile. It allowed us to pull back and really see the landscape of the wadi (valley). Both hikes ended up being two of our favorite aspects of Petra- so I’ll talk more about them later.
Tumblr media
4) Don’t just try to check off all the main sites- go off the beaten path
Maybe because I had only really seen pictures of the Treasury, I didn’t realize before visiting how large Petra is. Since it was a complex city, the site is spread out and there are SO many places to see. On our first big day I realized just how exhausting trying to check off all the big ones in one day truly is. Some of our favorite aspects were going off the beaten path and exploring random less famous aspects of Petra. It’s fun to find your favorite tomb or take a rest on a side trail, all of which you don’t have time for if you’re trying to power through all the greatest hits.
Now on to the fun stuff!
Top Five Sites of Petra
5)Exploring the unnamed tombs
Tumblr media
This fits in very well with our last tip from above. At around 7:15 am after hiking through the siq and spending some time at the treasury, we wandered off the main path to explore some of the unnamed tombs. Each tomb is different, it is fun to pick out your favorites and think about the people who would’ve been buried here or celebrated in these smaller places. They are more intimate than the larger tombs, and it feels really adventurous to get to walk around in these ancient buildings. The sandstone is often gorgeous, and it was really peaceful to take a break in these cool chambers. Also AJ named one the tomb of the drunken sailor cuz it was slanted.
4)Wandering through the Siq
Walking through the siq was a magical experience every time it happened, but especially without crowds and in the light at dawn and dusk. The first time it came as a surprise. We were hiking down from the visitors center when all of the sudden the landscape changed and we were at the entrance to the Siq, a 500 ft. tall canyon with imposing walls that almost block out the sun. Running along the path you can still see the distinct curves used for the Nabatean irrigation system. There are sculptures hidden along the pathway including the remains of what would’ve been a 10 ft. tall camel carving. You can see why the Nabateans would have chosen this geologic feature as their grand entrance, and it served to create a sense of magic for entering this special place.
3)Hiking the Wadi Farasa Trail
Tumblr media
On the first day after I thought we’d be in Petra for months but it was only 8 o’clock, we started our hike up to the Sacrificial High Place. I’m glad we started early because it was a steep 45 minute hike and at 8am it wasn’t too hot. After a brief kerfuffle with a donkey (a Bedouin woman was trying to call it to her but we kept accidentally scaring it uphill), we made it to the top! There are panoramic views of Petra, including Aaron’s tomb. This was a sacred place where the Nabateans worshipped the sun and moon with a built in blood drain for sacrifices. It’s easy to tell why it is sacred- up there it’s so easy to feel close to the sky. AJ and I took a moment to lie down on the top to worship the celestial deities as the sun and morning moon faced off above us. Also, it was a tiring hike and we needed to lie down. Next, rather than going back down the steep way we came, we took the Wadi Farasa trail. There was all sorts of cool archaeology (a giant lion fountain!) and geology (sandstone with manganese and iron stripes!) to see on the way down. My favorite part was the the combination of the tomb of the Roman soldier and the garden triclinium because they are directly across from each other, and with the rubble from the column lined promenade it was easy to picture how the ancient people would’ve used this beautiful space.
2)The hike to the Monastery/the end of the world
Tumblr media
Our second favorite site was on our other high place trek. This one we did in the late afternoon, and since it is through a canyon it was often shaded. We had a picnic lunch at the top in front of the monastery (one of the largest tombs in Petra that was later turned into a church). However, my favorite part was a spot beyond the monastery. We hiked 15 minutes further to the edge of the mountain to this little Bedouin tent & the views were INSANE! We could see so many mountain ranges come together to into this steep valley, with a convergence of different types of rocks. Guy AJ liked it because, in his words, “we’ve finally reached the edge of Petra.” In other words it was the first time we looked out and didn’t see any archaeology; we had found an end to this seemingly endless site. It was one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen.
1)The Treasury reveal
The treasury (or the Khazneh) is the most famous site in all of Petra. Its location is featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, as well as countless other movies. In person the detail and scope is awe inspiring, and made all the more impressive by the long walk we had just had through the Siq. The first time the canyon opens up we saw this amazing 2,000 year old building. It was wonderful to get it almost to ourselves in the morning, and we also got to say goodbye without the crowds on the last day. It’s the most famous part of Petra, but for a good reason.
Tumblr media
All in all Petra is one of the coolest places I’ve ever seen, a highlight of this trip and of my life.
Love,
The very impressed Ajs

Chapter 16:  There goes, freedom of choice
“Hush hush don’t make noise, they are in deep slumber” Jin hissed under his breath signaling others to stop shuffling their feet or making any kind of voice that might wake the lovebird up.
“I am not making any noise, you have been talking non stop” the younger boy scolded his hyung with a deep frown.
Unfazed Yoongi pushed the older boy off from the front door, pushing the key into the hole and within a second the door clicked open. Others let out a low snort disagreed with his action but of course Yoongi was ignorant to the core.
“Yah Min Suga.. Get back here” as soon as Yoongi opened the door and stepped inside everyone got cold feet not knowing how to react. They might be witnessing something unexpected or more like they expected that thing however being a nosy sonyeodan, they still wanted to see it with their naked eyes.
Hoseok clasped his hand together followed with a holy prayer “Dear lord, please don’t let us witness any naked human being inside. Even though we may still sin after watching hentai , we are not ready to see the real deal inside. Amen” he chanted it all over again while following others entering the room.
If Jimin found out they invaded his space without his consent every single soul in this room would be dead by dawn. Reaching for the light, Yoongi turned it on only to be welcomed by a sleeping Jimin and Yeoul under the thick duvet.
Judging from the clothes scattered on the floor, their assumption was right.
“So they had sex” Jin facepalmed dramatically.
"Dont be dramatic when you expected this" Namjoon scolded.
“This is wrong, Jimin hyung will be mad if he finds out we are here” Jungkook flushed at the sight and quickly exited the room. The golden maknae could not stop his racing heart since it was his first time to see a grown up man and woman under a duvet together when it was crystal clear why they’re under the duvet in the first place.
What a wild imagination you got there Jeon Jungkook.
Taehyung nodded in agreement “Chim would not like it. I am following Kookie…” with that he walked out leaving the hyungs inside.
“Okay I swear this is not my fault, I told you I can wait until they are fully awake to get my phone. This is your idea Jin hyung” Hoseok flailed his arms and whispered dangerously low. They did not want to wake the predator up, carnivore Jimin.
Jimin stirred in his sleep, pulling Yeoul close to his body as the four men froze in their spot while watching the younger guy closely. His head perked up after hearing such commotion in the room “What the hell…” he lowly groan.
“Shit..”Namjoon mumbled lowly, nudging Hoseok side urging him to take his phone quick so they could leave the room at this instant.
“Park Jimin wake up, we need to head out in few hours. Your written statement is much needed to fix the mess” unbothered Yoongi shook him up with his foot.
His eyes shot open as soon as he realized the voice he heard did not come from his dream, the members were in his room for real to witness his after sex urm face, just what were on their mind? Jimin pulled the duvet carefully covering Yeoul’s bare body, and he slowly turned his head to face the wolf pact.
“Finally you decide to open your eyes”
“I thought you are up for another round” Yoongi snickered sarcastically.
His brows burrowed deeply, as he dangled one leg out giving the latter a light kick on his calf earning a low grunt from him. “Bloody hell, why are you guys here? Get out!” he jeered.
“Ughh it is Jin hyung ideas, he wanted to use the reason of taking my phone just to check on you” Hoseok exclaimed.
“Hey hey don’t push the loads on me. It is not just me all of you are dying to know too” he called in annoyance.
“I don’t give a damn whose idea this is. So leave before you embarrassed Yeoul” Jimin glanced at sleeping Yeoul hoping that she would not be awake. Knowing Yeoul, their presence would cause her to lock herself in room for days.
“Guys lets leave before Yeoul wakes up, you don’t want to scare her” Namjoon reasoned. He gave Jin a hard stare tugging mommy Jin out the room before he argued. Guess, bickering was his real talent after all putting his misery in dancing behind.
Giving Jimin an apologetic look, Hoseok lips pursed into a slight pout before leaving the room with his phone.
“Okay Yoongi hyung are you planning to leave or not?” Yoongi lazily approached Jimin as he bent down to match his height.
With a playful smirk, he patted the top of his head “You could have tell me that you need a private moment with Yeoul. Great job Park Jims, guess you are still alive” he cooed.
Jimin gawked at the older boy disbelief as he watched his body disappeared from his vision, shutting the door close “Crazy hyungs” he exasperated a deep sigh. His attention was back on the sleeping girl in his arm, the smile returned on his face.
‘Gorgeous even in her sleep’ he mentally groaned with a big fat smile on his face.
A flash of memory of their intimate session gushed into his mind. It felt too good to be truth, and most importantly it was not just a mere dream. Yeoul and him were officially back together just like they used too.
--------------------
  Hello this is Park Jimin,
First, I apologize for stepping out late when I am well aware of the rumor that has been circulating around causes an uproar and has tremendously affect Bangtan’s image.
Most importantly to my baby armys, I feel regretful and apologized to everyone who has been upset by my huge mistake. I am sorry for disappointing you Armys. I have no words to excuse myself.
I, Park Jimin is admitting to all the rumors to be true. Park Minyeol is my biological son.
Five years ago, I dated a girl whom I loved dearly. As a result of our careless rendezvous, an innocent kid was born. What was done could not be undone but I regretted our immature decision five years ago for breaking up without knowing the existence of the baby. I deserved to be punished.
Through this incident, I once again offer my apologies to my parents, my company, my members, our lovely Armys who have been supporting and believing in me since day one, and not to forget to the one i scarred the most Na Yeoul and Park Minyeol. I have let everyone down and hurt everyone.
I know a mere word is not enough to fix a broken heart but to make up for all the damages done to everyone and to return everyone’s support, I will continue to work hard to become a good son, a better version of Bangtan Sonyeodan’s member, and a good father to Minyeol.
I will reflect on what I have done again and I promise to become a better person in the future.
Thank you for the overwhelming support from lovely Armys, please continue to love us. Please do not blame others because I am responsible for all the troubles experienced by the members. I am sorry again for betraying your trust and breaking the promise that we made together. I hope you will continue to support and love us.
To my members, thank you for staying beside me. I promise to be a better friend in the future, thank you and I love you.
Lastly, I hope you will support and respect my decision and to love Minyeol and Na Yeoul as much I cherish them.
Thank you and I am sorry. I wont be tired to say this all over again.
Sincerely, Park Jimin
Yeoul’s tears cascaded down upon reading Jimin heartbreaking written apology posted on the internet. And once again, Jimin and BTS names were trending on every social medias platform. Frankly speaking, Jimin was in no position to apologize but the perks of being an idol he had to get it done no matter how absurd it sound.
His parents was well informed ever since the rumors broke and they showed warm support for Jimin and Yeoul even though it shocked them at first. His parents had already met Minyeol and took a liking of the little boy so did to Yeoul. Jimin was grateful that he had the support from his family and friends in this tough situation. That was all matter.
Feeling remorseful, Yeoul wiped her tears away as she sat on the bed quietly reflecting on everything that happened this past few weeks. She never dreamed of being reunited with Jimin again after their heartbreaking farewell. But, fate brought them together. Park Minyeol was the key to their relationship. Without him, they would not be having this dramatic reunion.
“That fool, he was not the one who suppose to apologize” Yeoul murmured, sniffing a little. She must be crying a little too much that she planned so she had to stop crying before the guys came back and bombarded her with questions.
Just how Jimin told her, she refrained herself from reading the comments on the internet. She was positive that most it would be positive but some negative comments could not be halted. There were people out there despised the idea of Jimin dating a plain girl like her let alone having a child together.
This was one of the rare cases in the industry. Most of idol scandal would be related to dating or lawsuit so considered Jimin’s scandal as one of the worst one.
Everything happened for a reason.
She rose to her feet and made her way to the kitchen. Yeoul decided to stop moping around and cooked something for the hungry boys once they got back. Rummaging through cabinets, Yeoul was looking for cooking supplies but to her distaste it was filled with ramen.
“Ugh don’t they cook” she grumbled in annoyance.
Pacing back and forth in the room, Yeoul finally came to a decision. She must go out for grocery shopping. It wouldn’t hurt right even for an hour?
In this circumstances, would it be possible that people recognized her.
She shook her head frantically in denial “Im not an idol, no one knows me please don’t get ahead of yourself Yeoul” she puffed her cheeks.
Yeoul inhaled deeply as her fingers typed a quick message to Jimin before leaving Bangtan dorm. She dressed comfortably and made sure to be careful with her surrounding. For some reason Yeoul feared that people would recognize her so along the way to the nearest store it felt super draggy.
The sight of the white building few meters from where she stood got her excited for no reason. She entered the building with a wide smile and took the shopping cart. There was a group of girls around her age were staring at her way, Yeoul ducked her head quickly and made a sharp turn to the left.
Grabbing all the items in her list while trying to keep herself out of people’s radar was not an easy job. From time to time there would be people scrutinizing at her as if trying to figure out who she was and it mortified her to the core.
Yeoul pushed her shopping cart passed the CD section and coincidently there was a group of high school girl lurking around the area. She overheard their conversation that caused her to slow down.
“Have you read Jimin oppa’s confession?”
“Yes Yes about the kid! He really admitted to it! I cant believe that”
“Do you think that is real? I mean that is very suspicious what if oppa did that because of the company”
“Ugh that would be horrible. I cant believe Jimin oppa slept with a girl and had a baby”
“Did you see the girl?”
“She is plain”
”Super plain for Jimin oppa” they laughed loudly and coarsely.
She grazed her teeth together holding back the anger in her ‘Rude kids’ now she regretted for using that path as her way to the counter. After she paid all the stuffs she bought, she exited the market making her way back home with hope she would not encounter any miserable human being who made comments on Jimin’s life and hers.
Come to think about it, Yeoul sucked in remembering unfamiliar road, now she was losing it. She had no idea where she was. Yeoul scanned the area around her, just an hour ago she was sure that was the exact path she used from the dorm to the grocery store.
Biting her lower lips, she tried to concentrate and remember every single details on the area just in case she forgot. Yeoul stood there for 10 minutes with no answers, then frustration took over her mind. She mentally cursed herself for walking alone without waiting for the boys to get home, now she deserved to be punished.
She clutched onto her phone contemplating whether to give Jimin a call but Bangtan was still practicing for their upcoming concert. With heavy heart, she decided to wander aimlessly hoping to find a sign of hope in the middle of the road or anywhere.
Yeoul used GPS in her smart phone and diligently followed the path shown by it as it would direct her back to the grocery store. That was the only way to find her way back home, she had to start from scratch then problem settled.
Footsteps behind her snapped Yeoul out of her trance, she glanced over her shoulder to witness three young ladies tailing her. Waves of panic pounded through her temples, and she could feel a sick feeling churning in her belly.
As she quickened her pace, the footsteps behind her sped up to match her pace. Her heart began to beat faster. Were those girls following her? More to the point, who was following her and why?
‘This wont do..’ she made a sharp turn to the right, and she blamed herself for choosing this quiet alley. Out of all days, why did she make such a bad choice today? Yeoul slowed deliberately and spun around which startled the girls at first.
“Why are you following me?” she inquired. Even though she scared of what awaits in front of her, she had to get over this for the sake of her sanity.
“We are right. You are Na Yeoul” a girl with bang smug. Her smile was disturbing and for so many reasons, Yeoul felt something was not right. The auras from these three were too dark, full with hatred and vengeance.
Oh oh here comes trouble.

i got there around 11am and spent about an hour looking at ALLLLLL THE CORGIS. SOOOO CUTE. i took a bunch of slow mo video on my phone, i’m hyped to put together a video of it tomorrow
they also had corgi ninja warrior. basically an obstacle course. we watched 10 or so corgis run through the track. it was pretty entertaining because most of them weren’t trained, or were trained enough to follow a treat. it was soo cute
- met up with jwoos around 1pm. he also brought his friend michael and we tried to get a quick snack cause all of us were hungry. but the deli and grocery store near the beach had really long lines cause of the event. there were like at least a thousand people on the beach. i think... but yeah we wanted a snack and then go back to the beach to see the doggos cause jwoos and michael hadn’t seen it yet.
side note, my eyes were also kind of burning. i forgot my sunglasses in my other backpack >.> and i had no hat ugh
also sam came along, which was a nice surprise. she just moved to sf two weeks ago and won’t start work for another week or so. the four of us met up, then walked back to the beach. we decided to eat afterwards, cause corgi con ended at 2pm and by the time we’d eat, it’d be over
so we went to the beach and wandered around. the fashion show/race events had already finished :/ so we just kind of wandered around on the beach and saw people’s corgis
- around 2pm we walked a couple blocks and got dim sum at feng ze yuan. the wait was about 15 minutes so we chilled and then went inside. we ordered a lot of food and it was awesome. we were sooo hungry so it was very filling
- we tried to get boba at some place called purple kow since it was close by. but the line was too long. so we decided to go to teaspoon, which was on the east side of SF. but we figured we might as well go there and then stop by lombard street. jwoos, sam and i ubered there. michael parted ways to go to moma i think to meet up with some of his other friends
- we got to teaspoon after like 20-30 minutes of driving. driving in sf takes forever... anywho we got there, i charged my phone, and we got some boba. it was pretty good. my phone was low on battery cause i spent all morning recording corgis on my camera, so i guess that usage drains battery...?
anywho, we walked like 10 minutes to lombard street, then took some pics and walked down the iconic zig zag. it was p whack
we walked a couple blocks down and then we decided to go home. idk why but we were pretty exhausted. and it was like 4:55pm or something. i guess it’s just daunting to try to plan stuff here cause everything’s so far apart. and the sun’s also shining on us so maybe that makes us tired. i feel like we’d have more energy in NYC
- sam took an uber home. jwoos and i chilled in a public library for a bit. we went there cause i needed to piss SO badly... i think the boba triggered something and i just had to piss. we decided to uber from sf to my place, and then jwoos would uber from my place back to his place (in redwood). he saved about $10 by doing this two legged trip instead of taking a direct uber from sf to redwood
- we ubered for like an hour... from 5:30 to 6:30pm. it was such a long car ride. eventually we got back to my place, then jwoos ubered home
i ordered chipotle again from door dash and then went to take a shower. it was nice cleaning off all the remaining sand from my lower body
i watched two more episodes of the office S3E22 and S3E23. it was the season finale and omg i love this part of the show. jim comes back from an interview with corporate and interrupts pam’s interview to ask her out on a date. ugh so much feeeeeels
i also briefly met our third roommate, karl, who’s also gonna be working at the same company for the summer
so yeah... that’s what i did for the past hour (one normal 20 min episode then a 40 min episode for the finale)
- now i’m blogging yesterday’s post and today’s post
i think i’m gonna play some fortnite and then sleep. it’s 10:21pm
i am kind of tired tho. like it’s hard for me to keep my eyes open rn
idk
it was a chill night
the end

Pandemic Thoughts
Tumblr media
______
Strange times. Strange thoughts.
Assorted and unstructured. Updated as needed.

I spent a lifetime in the service industry, and I’m still very emotionally invested in it. A lot of restaurants will not survive the pandemic. Period. Pick a few favourites and support the hell out of them, as regularly as you can, if you want them to still be around a few months from now. Preferably independent ones that enrich your community.
For those using third-party delivery services to bring you dinner, be aware: for every $10 a restaurant receives through Skip the Dishes sales, $3 of that sale goes to these delivery services (only $7 goes to the eatery). The pub/restaurant where I worked all those years wouldn't have lasted long with those margins. (link)
I've been hammering on about this for a while, and I'll probably continue doing so. If you're in a position to support local independent restaurants, go to the effort of calling them yourself and collecting your own order. Many offer their own delivery service, so use that when needed. Avoid using a third-party service unless necessary.
I still speak to local restauranteurs and pals in the service industry. They concur: these third-party delivery services are not about supporting local eateries. They were primarily useful for supplementing, not replacing, dine-in business. Overall, they are about convenience - and they are now crippling the businesses trapped into using them.

Before I left the service industry, I fully expected to spend the rest of my life as a publican, performer, and venue operator. Had my fortunes been different and that proved possible, the current situation would have destroyed whatever I had built to this point. This will likewise be the case for countless others worldwide right now, including established successful ones. (link)
I have no idea what will remain after this - when we reach a point that public gatherings are an option again. Will there be anywhere left to gather? Will there be any venues left where performers and audiences can safely meet? Safely rehearse? Safely travel?
Have I played my last concert? Have we all? Not a clue.

I chipped a couple teeth some time in the last month. Thanks to PPE mask shortages and general public health concerns, I’m unable to get an appointment with my dentist of 20+ years. As a result, two relatively minor procedures are likely to spiral into major dental issues before they can be addressed. Probably much more expensive ones too. With a persistent jaw ache to keep me company in the interim.
About two months ago, I wiped-out badly on slippery ground whilst entering my workplace, and I’m pretty certain I either fractured or broke my tailbone in the fall. It’s made sitting fairly painful, and resuming standing agonizing. Only time and avoiding sitting can really help mend it, so I’ve been trying to alternate between walking, sitting, and lying down whenever possible. Two months later, it’s only marginally better. No point bothering trying to get an x-ray these days. Same goes for the non-essential blood work a different doctor requested.
The pandemic is causing major interruptions and interference in many different areas of life, and might cause a variety of completely unrelated health issues in the process. People will die (and have died) just from the massive disruptions all this has caused. Please keep things like this in mind if your primary complaint is being bored at home, or that you’re being oppressed.

2020-05-19
I was finally able to get into my dentist’s office today to fix my chipped teeth from a few months ago. Spent the appointment listening to a staff meeting with telephone earbuds, and trying to hear how COVID-World is affecting operations. This is modern life now: work from everywhere, go nowhere, remain active whilst being passive (possibly as your skull is drilled out), and do your best not to catch the plague in the process. Tough times, and tight days ahead.
Keeping busy. The weather’s finally stable enough to allow my wife to start working on her new garden. After a long winter and countless weeks delay, this will be very healthful for her. I’m taking any available radio shifts, workshopping various music ideas of my own, mixing songs for The Bolt Actions album when there’s time, and working with my daughter on her remote schooling. We’re also spending a lot of time learning math by playing cribbage, and trying to take walks when the weather’s agreeable. She misses her school friends and teacher. This is a bizarre time to be anybody, but it must be particularly strange to be a child right now.
Temperament-wise, this period hasn’t been as difficult for us as it has been for so many others. I can spend long periods indoors without irritation or issue, but motivation and action are sluggish as inertia reigns. I should be reading books like mad in the evenings, but I don’t remember the last time I felt like picking one up. As time grinds into a homogenous paste, weeks disappear. This has made keeping up with friends and correspondence far tardier than I intended. The atmosphere has been very good at dispelling impulse activity, though. I don’t remember my last drive-through hamburger or vending-machine soda. Nevertheless, it remains troubling to see so many businesses and friends struggling with the very real feeling that they won’t survive these times, and that what will follow might be unrecognizable.
I hope you’re coping ok.

Keeping occupied during isolation. I’ve been listening to a lot of vinyl records, and I’ve also been enjoying my long-neglected CD collection now that I have the remote radio kit linked to my stereo.
I’m going through recordings at a pretty heavy clip presently. Keeping track of what I’ve listened to is bogging down my phone with photographs and notes. Decided to change how I’m sharing this information. My posts on zedair.net are a bit clunky and overlooked, and I don’t want to bog-down my own personal Instagram profile with music posts.
So, I’ve started a new Instagram to better document the Zibliothek. Not ideal, but it’ll keep things orderly and more people are likely to see and/or enjoy it there than they do here. It’ll save me some extra cross-posting time too. Feel free to give it a follow if you like album art, books, films, and other cultural artifacts.

2020-08-13
I’ve now been tested twice now for COVID. Negative results both times, I’m relieved to say.
In Edmonton, most folks are being directed to the same facility in Mill Woods on the city’s south side - walking distance from the neighbourhood where I grew up. The building used to be a Grant MacEwan campus, but has since been converted to some kind of Covenant Health facility. The tests occur in the building’s gymnasium.
I keep hearing that the tests are quick, but both times I've gone there have been 400-500 people in a line snaking around a field. Off days, I'm told, but luckily both had beautiful weather. Each time I got inside, I asked if something was amiss to cause such a backup, and the nurses (who are working like crazy just trying to keep up) can only apologize for the delay. I would never give them a hard time about it, but I still don't know why some days there's a quad filled with bodies waiting to enter, and other days where one can get in and out in under 30 mins.
The first time I went, I had an appointment for 10:30am. Not knowing what to expect, I arrived at 10:30 and found two long lines of people. The left line is for people with appointments. The right line is for drop-in testing. Finding it a bit perplexing, I asked a random person in middle of the left line if she have an appointment, and for when. Like me, her appointment was for 10:30, and she was a good 200 people ahead of my place at the back of the line. I have no idea if the people in front or behind had the same appointment times. You just joined the back of the line regardless of appointment, and waited for everyone before you to finish. I'm not certain what making an appointment actually accomplishes, but it seems to get you access to the faster-moving line once it actually starts moving. The actual time of the appointment seems meaningless. The appointment line was stationary until around 11:15 with zero movement, but then began moving gradually, slow and steady. I didn't notice much movement in the drop-in line. On that occasion, I was finished by 12:15.
My second test occurred yesterday. The second time, I decided to try the drop-in. Hindsight has taught me that, though this line is much shorter than the appointment line, it moves far slower. I recognized several people from the appointment line who arrived hours after I had, who were tested and leaving before I'd advanced 50 feet. Lesson learned: always make an appointment, but never for earlier than 11:30am.
I seem to be a beacon to people with questions in situations like this. Behind me in the drop-in line was a very talkative, but friendly woman who was about to fly to Egypt with her husband. They required COVID clearance to be allowed to fly. Anyway, after the first hour she bailed to go collect her husband, who'd been waiting in the car due to mobility issues. I promised I'd hold her spot. They parked far away, so it was nearly another hour before they returned to the line. I enjoyed the quiet interim.
Husband didn't seem to like her talking with a strange man, but eventually decided I was harmless and struck up a separate conversation with me. Given that the line was moving super slowly, and that I'm chronically friendly when there's a language barrier, it made for a long slog when he led with "So, do you think this whole Corona hype is a media invention?" Especially when I'd already said that my profession is in radio.
I don't know whether it was a constructive conversation, but we parted friendly, and they will hopefully have clearance to fly to Cairo in a few days time.

I got tagged by @happyisahabit, a space fool, a pumpernickel, a baker who has yet to give me baked goods, please give me a cupcake
1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?
because anabell is love and anabell is life
2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/favorites, follows/subscriptions, visitor hits, kudos)
uh... good question
seems like Fleeting has the most reviews and faves with a STAGGERING 26 reviews HAHAHAH
3. What is your FFnNet/AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?
@xwynn sheds a tear every time but i goddamn love it
4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?
Yeah dude @fluffypuppy77 and @quantamtheory1 for sure, something about seeing them warms my heart tbh. and then those i can’t find on tumblr but are active on ffnet are “Whispered Winters” and “8YearsOfMaka”
5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?
i’ll be real, i haven’t read much fanfiction lately, but if you force me to put a name on something then i’d say any of @happyisahabit‘s works
6. How many stories are you subscribed to? How many do you have bookmarked?
they’re pretty much outdated and irrelevant now
7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?
mythology, fantasy, supernatural, fae, witchy, magical; because i always return to my roots
8. How many people are subscribed and bookmarked to you in total? (you can view this on the stats page)
listen, im thankful the maker of this ask game put where you can find it, but i can’t be arsed to check xD
5 mins later: i found it, but look im so pleased Total views to Profile Page : 1,881 that’s a beautiful number. a really good number. a mirrored, symmetrical number. i like that shit. NO ONE ELSE VIEW MY PROFILE FROM NOW ON. IF THAT NUMBER CHANGES I’LL CRY.
9. Is there something you’d like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)
I’ve always wanted to write obiyuki or like z.//e-ki or rusa the og ship id die for, but, one is too old shit, two im not quite there with character understanding and world competence yet but soon i’ll show up, and three the fandom is crazy and i wouldn’t touch it with a 10 meter pole. guess which.
10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.
to echo liz, FINISHING MY WIPS???? and also writing cute smooches would be cool tho, but im too busy writing angst for that
11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?
i feel attacked by question eleven and i don’t like it’s tone.
12. How many stories have you posted on FFNet/AO3 to this day (finished and unfinished)?
69 stories on ffnet :) hehehehehehehehehe 69. + 1 cuz i posted one more a couple of days ago. i think there’s a disproportionate amount of unfinished fics to finished fics there too. it’s like schrodinger's cat at this point to my poor subcribers: am i gunna post a new fic or update an old one? if i don’t post you’ll never find out
@rebornfromash look hehehe 69
13. How many stories do you have saved in/with your writing program?
don’t.
14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?
i have sticky notes, note cards, notebooks, dump docs on both google drive and word doc and notes on the iphone, slipped pieces of papers jammed into books, and friends who i just burst in and go “hi i have an idea and im going to use the ctrl f function to document my shit”
if i keep it solely in my head then it becomes lost and no longer a concept
15. Have you ever co-authored a story?
yes i have :) good stories, better partners
16. How did you discover FFNet/AO3?
i think my very first time i ever went on the site was caused by @roni-westbrook, a dramione fic called harmony
17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on FFNet/AO3?
nah
18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?
Thirsty Monsters From The Loch. Sip Sip Bish.
19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?
one day i took at look at myself, and i went, “are you ready to truly become fandom trash?” and an answer came almost immediately, “hell yeah”
20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?
Write. For. Your. Self.
i can’t say that enough because if you decide to let your audience dictate what you write and how well you write and how you feel about your writing due to the lack of reception or lots, you’re just entering a world of hurt. one day you may feel great about your writing because you got over a hundred notes, only to realize that you get at most about 30 for a popular ship and good idea sometimes and can’t figure out why. one day you may feel fabulous about your fic you worked hard on and love what youve done with it, only to see no one else cared. i’ve seen so many friends in pain from this, and i know that pity reblogs and reviews from me are only going to solve a problem in the moment and not in the long run.
you gotta be your own number one fan, realize who youre writing for and why youre writing. and alternatively if you write something for just a remote group of friends or even just one person as a gift, then please realize that their response and reaction will mean more to you than hundreds of others who simply stumbled upon it. ok?
21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?
i plot the skeleton most of the time, but then let the writing dictate where it’s going to go next. yeah you heard it here folks, my plot writes itself, because that’s how you get a realistic and non forced narrative
22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?
wow have y’all ever read that shit fic from 2015 that people took way too seriously? but that’s really it, im truly lucky
23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)
A C T I O N
24. What story(s) are you working on now?
this is a call out post and i don’t like this.
25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?
number twenty four and number twenty five are conspiring against me and i feel attacked
26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?
Absolutely not because I either do 8K in a night or 10 words in a month and there’s zero ground inbetween
27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?
both yes and no because i’m extremely lucky to have been able to have a great running start in 2015, but i think i plateaued as an author in terms of quality
28. What is your favorite story(s) that you’ve written?
Fleeting is still by far my favorite story because not only is @captainpomelo a great person to work with but also i still think about it to this day, my goal for 2018 is to finish it
29. What is your least favorite story(s) that you’ve written?
shit.fic.of.2015.
30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?
like, better, hopefully
31. What is the easiest thing about writing?
lyrical writing esp when it’s 3 am and im listening to “i will survive” on repeat
32. What is the hardest thing about writing?
not writing passive voice
33. Why do you write?
it looked fun, and boy was i wrong. it’s suffering.
Lemme get those tags in shout out to everyone previously tagged plus @lucyrne @sabraeal @ilarual @sahdah @fullmetalgrigori

The epilepsy pt 2: What it’s like to live with seizures
Tumblr media
Absolutely not what you should do when you have epilepsy, but a good representation of how the low hum background panic feels.
So it’s the evening of Sunday 4th March, and about two hours ago, ago I had a seizure - ironically, as I was writing this post about epilepsy. Just call me Alanis Morisette.
I had the audacity to have not one, but TWO whole drinks last night, because it was my birthday. This is what happens when I drink anything. Anything at all. Maybe I got bold because I’m having the surgery on Thursday. Who knows.
My very first seizure was in April 2016 following my operation in November. Something just felt very wrong. The best way I can describe it is that everything sort of… zoomed in.
I was cooking myself a Moroccan stew, and my housemate was washing up behind me. I was desperately trying to get her attention, all the while having this weird, almost heavy experience of skipping like a stuck record, and then, blackout.
I burned my forearm on said stew; I have a pretty gnarly scar now, and the stew was absolutely top the next day.
My consciousness dropped back into my body I’m not sure how long after. Like an anaesthetic you just lose time. I had been ‘awake’ but I wasn’t ‘there’. I was sat on the sofa with the paramedics and my housemates around me. Worth noting at this point that throughout this whole escapade I’ve never met a paramedic that wasn’t completely ace.
The weirdest thing about coming round from tonic-clonic - formally known as grand mal seizures - is that you just often just completely forget how to say words. You go to say them. You know what you want to say. You just draw a complete blank. You can apologise for not being able to say it, but you can’t say what you want to. Writing or texting is a total nightmare as well. Total gobbledygook. What’s coming out, isn’t what you’re putting in. This is called a post-ictal state. They can last from anywhere between a few minutes, and half an hour. I can’t tell you how unfathomably frustrating this is.
I’ve only had one other ‘blackout seizure’. In the cinema, no less – don’t worry, it was the last 5 mins of the film, I don’t think I disturbed anyone too much, and I doubt they’ll have cared. It was a terribly boring film and the last 15 minutes had been non-stop shooting.
I almost prefer the blackouts. The seizures I’ve had since I’ve been totally aware of what’s going on, and I’ve got to be honest, it’s awful. I can hear everything. I want to speak and reassure people, but I can’t. There’s no panic like that feeling. I just have to try and stay calm. All I can see is what’s in front of me but ‘stuck’, moving along and flicking back again, over and over. Sort of like at the end of old film. I feel like I’m turned right round, but I’m facing forwards. I’m told that my body goes really stiff and contorted, so stiff it looks like my arms are going to break, and you can hear my joints popping. I’ve hit myself in the face repeatedly. I make this bizarre sound as well. Like a repetitive humming. I had to do quite a lot of that just now to get Alex’s attention while he was in the other room on the phone to his mum. It worked.
They vary in size. The biggest ‘conscious’ one I’ve had was New Year’s Eve 2016. I was on day two of a terrible hangover, and I was very tired. I was also on a really difficult bit of Tomb Raider, and there were all these mystical blue berks and the army attacking me, and I’d been trying to crack this one bit several times. And then I got that horrible zooming in feeling again. I was trying to make the humming noise so my mum would realise what was happening. When you have seizures, you often stop breathing - I went blue.
When I stopped fitting, and started breathing again, it was SO heavy. She, and Alex this evening, was understandably absolutely terrified.
I was left tired, dopey, and with the most atrocious headache I’ve ever had. Aside from a migraine of course. The worst part of all of this is that I never finished Tomb Raider. 75%. I’m too scared to pick it back up now.
I was terrified of flashing lights for a long time. All I knew about epilepsy was that flashing lights could trigger a seizure. But then Dr Rees told me that my epilepsy wasn’t photosensitive. I realised it must be a processing issue, and the point was proven when I tried an insanely calm and sedate VR game and negotiating two realities obviously got a bit much for me.
I truly feel like a bit of a wuss on this one. It’s always in the back of my mind that I might have one. It not being photosensitive meant that essentially they’re just completely random. It’s comforting to be able to attribute one to say, tiredness, or stress, or alcohol, but it isn’t always possible.
I’ve now had them in a lot of my ‘oh god, no, not here’ places. 3 at work. 3 on public transport, 2 tram, 1 bus. 1 outside Marks & Spencer’s in town. Several on my own. One where I fell backwards off my bed. I had one at a house party full of people that I didn’t know. I dreaded having one in front of Alex. I’ve since had many, and he’s always amazing with them. Still waiting on one in the shower. My rough plan is to just walk away from the water and sit down. The thought enters my head as I get in, and I torture myself about what I would do for almost the ENTIRE duration of the shower. I do try and distract myself, which does work. But it always crosses my mind at least twice. When I’m out, I’m safe.
I hate the fact that they limit me. I can’t drive until I’ve been a year without having one. I mean, I couldn’t anyway, but learning to drive was one of the things I was stoked about moving back up north for. I can’t really drink anymore. My medication leaves me with a memory like a goldfish. When I’m playing any kind of game that involves remembering one piece of information for longer than 10 seconds, NOPE. All in all, I try not to let it get in the way of things I want, or need, to do. I still go on nights out (as much as one can when one is nearly 30), go camping, hiking - seizure at the top of an eight mile steep uphill climb not withstanding.
For me, it’s the vulnerability that’s the worst part. You have absolutely no control, and you’re completely helpless. I’m still trying to get zen with it and it’s been almost two years. It’s tough.
They are a bit more manageable now. I can usually get to somewhere safe, and sit down.
I’ve been told that the surgery might even get rid of the seizures altogether. That would be so incredible I can’t even begin. So I won’t.

Jungkook shoved his way past the guards posted outside the doors, angrily shouldering the door open. Seated at his desk skimming through papers, the mayor flinched, wide eyes shooting up to see what was going on. Hot on his heels, the guards stormed the room, one managing to get a grip on the back of Jungkook’s jacket. They weren’t exactly sure how he had gotten past the front desk, but they were going to make sure he didn’t get any further.
“Ah, wait!” The mayor rushed, “H-He’s fine! It’s alright!” He smiled weakly at the odd look the guards were sending him, but nonetheless they backed off. Waving them away, the mayor held his smile until the door was shut softly and he was alone with Jungkook. Jungkook was dressed in the same thing he had been wearing when his father last saw him in the prison lobby. A dark green jacket draped over a rumpled white tee shirt. The hat he had been wearing was gone, the mayor noticed, but the ripped jeans and muddy boots were still there. There was a bruise along Jungkook’s cheek that stretched as he worked his jaw and dried blood collected on the corner of his lips. He was pacing, the steady thud of his boots along the carpet filling the room. Suddenly, he stopped, the sound of his boots halting and the only sound heard was the soft ticking of the clock on the wall.
Heaving in the center of the room, Jungkook venomously stared at his father. “You fucking revoked my access.” He hissed. The older man, rubbed his brow tenderly,
“..Which one are you talking about?” He asked delicately. He had actually revoked Jungkook’s access to two places, being immediately informed that he had tried to go to both places back to back shortly before he stormed his office. The older man just didn’t know which one Jungkook was angry about. Sighing, the mayor wondered how everything had happened so quickly. It had only been three days since the warehouse raid and already he had stretched several laws to keep Jungkook and his girlfriend out of prison and no doubt the boy would be pressing for the rest of his organization to be freed soon. His oldest son was already on his back, wondering why some seemingly random guy was getting such special treatment. No doubt, he’d be digging into Jungkook’s history and probably find out why.
Eyeing his son, the man sighed. He should have claimed him years ago. He had done him wrong and now, he was practically helpless against his son’s manipulation. If word got out that he not only had a secret son, but that he was part of the mafia and moreover he was using his position of mayor to keep him out of the law’s sight an uproar would start. Not to mention, how would his family react? He had a son and two grandsons who looked up to him. His wife would find out about the affair.
Mayor Jeon wasn’t sure if claiming Jungkook was worth all that trouble. Jungkook didn’t even seem to like him. Even when he was a little boy, he’d cling to his mother whenever he would go to visit them, his shy eyes timidly watching. After she had died, Jungkook had changed. Granted it was mostly his father’s fault, but Namjoon’s group had wiped out most of the police force on several occasions beforehand. It was obvious that they had claimed Jungkook as one of them. The mayor had almost lost his oldest son, he didn’t want to put his life at risk again for a little boy who would only be shipped off to boarding school since no one could know the relational ties between Jungkook and the mayor. But looking at Jungkook now, fully grown and burning with rage; it seemed that not picking him up and sending him off was a mistake.
Mayor Jeon wasn’t sure how to go about this.
Jungkook stepped towards the desk, leaning over it to glare at the older man. “I fucking know you revoke my access from both of them.” He revealed, “I wanna know why I can’t see her. I’m going to fucking murder Yoongi with my bare hands, but that can wait. You’re stopping me from seeing her.” He narrowed his eyes dangerously, “Who the fuck do you think you are?”
Calmly the mayor met his son’s gaze, “I’m the mayor of this city and your father.” He tried to place his hand on Jungkook’s shoulder, but it was harshly shoved away. Mayor Jeon nodded, delicately lowering his hand, “Jungkook..Why don’t you go home and rest?” He suggested, “I got an apartment for you in a nice neighborhood. So you can live quietly and peaceful-”
“You’re just trying to keep me fucking separated from you and your damn spotlight.” Jungkook retorted darkly. “Don’t think that I didn’t know that that’s the same damn thing you did to my mom. A nice, paid for apartment on the other side of town. Far, far away from you.” He smacked a stack of files off the desk, “You even have fucking groceries sent there. I know what you’re trying to do, but you’re not getting rid of me until I get what I want.” The mayor nodded, eyes averting from his youngest son’s intimidating stare to his laptop on his desk. Jungkook’s hand shot out, slamming the device shut. “You know what I want.” He growled, “So let me see her.”
His father softly shook his head. He didn’t deny Jungkook access to your room to spite him. He did it so Jungkook would actually sit down and rest. “But all you’ve been doing is pacing around her hospital room and making the doctors nervous or arguing with guards at the prison.” His father frowned at him. He knew Jungkook was hurting, but the way he was handling things was bad. “Mr. Min is in solitary confinement now that you just went to the prison and started a fight with him.” He nodded at Jungkook’s confused stare, “Yes, I am kept in the know of what you’ve been doing, Jungkook. You’re not going to be able to see him whether I have a say in it or not and the girl..she just lost her baby. Give her time to rest. I know you’re hurting about the loss of your chi-”
“Shut the fuck up!” Jungkook backed up quickly, hands pulling at his hair. Pacing the room angrily, he felt like hitting something. Suddenly, he whirled around, shoving over the plush chairs neatly placed in front of the desk. “It wasn’t mine.” He growled, hand shooting out as if he was going to grab onto his father. The other man leaned back, hands held up weakly. The baby wasn’t his. Was that why he was so upset? “You’re talking so damn lightly about shit you know nothing about! It was his, he hurt her and you’re making up shit about that baby being mine? You don’t know anything! About me, about Y/N, about this damn city!” Slapping his hands aside, Jungkook gripped the man’s tie, jerking him closer, “The next time I go see her, they better let me in or I’m fucking coming for you.”
He laughed.
A soft snort, passing through his breath. Cramped into a corner, knees pressed to his chest, he laughed. The small room was completely black, the only light being a red speck coming from the top corner of the room. A soft whirring drifted from the corner; a camera adjusting focus.
They were wondering what he was doing.
Yoongi lifted his head, the laughter gone. He stared straight at the red dot, knowing fully well that even though he couldn’t see the camera, they could see him. He wondered what they were doing. Taking notes? He hadn’t moved for the past three hours. His laugh being the only interesting thing he had done. Were they seeing if he’d break? He had nothing to give them. The room was getting colder with each passing hour. They were trying to worm something out of him.
They were trying to make him crack again.
The first time had been completely coincidental. It was all Jungkook, and some incompetent officer who thought it’d be okay to let him in the same room. The sharp hiss to his tone did nothing to warn the officer, who had only asked that Jungkook fill out a form and he’d be clear to meet Yoongi. So Jungkook filled the form, his pen tearing the paper as he angrily wrote the name of the man he was here to see.
Min Yoongi.
And Yoongi was lifted from his shared cell with Jaehwa, the later warily eyeing the guards. Yoongi was oddly calm, easily standing up from his bed and letting them guide him to the conference room. He was seated, cuffed to the table and left alone.
Until Jungkook walked in.
It didn’t take more than a minute before curses and threats were being spat out from both men. Yoongi managing to slip his hands through the cuffs and Jungkook lunged over the table. They fought; restraints aside. Voices clashing together, teeth clenching, and nails scraping; they fought with the full intent to harm the other as much as possible.
Guards swarmed the room, ganging up to pull the two apart. The conference room was full of confusion; security wondering why Jungkook was allowed to see Yoongi anyway. All Jungkook had to mention was you and a baby.
Mouth spewing promises of what he’d to Yoongi for infecting you with his parasitic spawn, Jungkook was dragged from the conference room and taken in for questioning. Yoongi went limp in the guards arms, his heart dropping. He didn’t know anything about this. Before he could ask anyone about where you were he was hauled off, past his cell with Jaehwa and thrown into a small dark room marked with a rusted plate that read,
Solitary Confinement.
And that’s where he had been for the last two days. He couldn’t see anything, the entire room drenched pitch black; the small recording light on the camera not nearly strong enough to illuminate anything. Yoongi had crawled into the nearest corner and sat quietly, head resting against the wall. Jungkook said you were pregnant. He picked at his thumbnail, tongue twisting in his mouth. He couldn’t do anything for you or that baby stuck in confinement. How was Jungkook walking around free anyway? He was at the warehouse, wasn’t he arrested too? Yoongi lightly hit his head against the wall; Jungkook had to have some sort of connection somewhere higher up if he’s walking free. He worked his jaw, licking his lips. There was one more person he could rely on to get him out, but he wasn’t sure how well it’d work in his favor.
Yoongi needed to get into contact with Jin.
The office doors slammed open, Captain Jeon barging into the room. He furrowed his brows at the sight of the guy from the warehouse, practically strangling his father, and quickly moved forward to pull Jungkook away. One handedly reaching for his handcuffs, he grappled with Jungkook, trying to restrain him.
“Wait! Let him go!”
Captain Jeon glared at his father, “He put his hands on you! He threatened you, he needs to be arrested!” He didn’t understand why his father let this one guy get away with so much. First, getting out of prison, then dropping all charges against him, and just now Captain Jeon had been told that his father had let his guy storm into his office.
His father stood from his seat, reaching out to grab his oldest son’s sleeve and pull him back. “I said let him go! He didn’t do anything wrong.” Captain Jeon angrily, released Jungkook, turning his heated stare to his father.
“What the fuck is wrong with you!?” He snapped, “You’re talking so easily about shit you know nothing about! Do you know how many people he’s personally killed? How many of my officers and whenever we get close to him all of a sudden all of our evidence is gone and you’re personally calling for his release!? I fucking noticed, dad and I’m tired of your bullshit! You either tell me why the hell he’s so special or I’m coming for you personally.”
The mayor blinked, gaze shifted between the two men. Oddly, he wiped at the sweat collected along his brow and quietly laughed. Captain Jeon raised a brow in disbelief while Jungkook huffed, rolling his eyes. The older man softly smiled at his sons, “You two are very similar.” He rubbed his hands together, wondering what was the best way to let his oldest son into the loop.
Captain Jeon recoiled, dark gaze cutting to Jungkook. He was nothing like him. He was an upstanding citizen, he didn’t break laws and work under the cover of night. He sure as hell didn’t set people on fire. Jungkook, who had been staring steadily at the mayor, languidly averted his eyes to Captain Jeon.
“I’m Jeon Jungkook.” He began, lips tilting up at the way the captain visibly flinched at the revelation of his surname. “I’m your little brother.”

Emerald City Comic-Con 2017
So I drove to Seattle from my little city Bend, OR on Thursday, about a 7hr drive there (7.5 hrs on the way home :/)  I stayed with @ninaf who lives just outside of Seattle.  We hung out that night and didn’t go to bed until after 1 a.m. 😳The Panel:  Our plan was to get to the Convention Center by 8:30/9:00 a.m. which we did. It was interesting that there didn’t seem to be much ‘security’(I could have taken my flask :/), we entered from across the street where we parked in a public parking garage and entered in at the 3rd floor.  We probably could have gotten in Sat. no problem even without a Sat badge!  Anyhow quickly found the line for the Outlander panel – SO many people!  They let us in at about 10:45 and me @ninaf and 2 of her friends (that are 'normal’ fans) found some seats – we were second row far left of the stage – right where the fan questions were left of the stage.  I wanted to ask a question – Sam could you please sit back I can’t see CAITRIONA!? In front of us was a slew of moms with their babies – so cute – one started fussing and Cait actually looked over to them with her awe concerned face – she clearly LOVES BABIES! ♥  You can just see it in the video briefly at about 14:32 min. I am a huge Cait fan so I was Screaming and standing when she came out and thought we were doing pretty good there, then Sam came out and omg decibels! They sit down and Sam won’t sit all the way back on the couch, I don’t know why, and he was blocking my view of Cait, I could only see her on the screen or if she moved forward or back. 😒 I didn’t take any pics, cos I just wanted to be present and absorb the experience, (one of @ninaf ’s friends did though so we’ll post as soon as we get them). One observance is they both looked tired, but ready to 'do this’.  I loved the panel, I thought they were very comfortable, there to have fun and engage with us, I liked the questions asked and quite a few of mine were answered. Caitriona was taking the lead quite a bit but I think her wit is a bit quicker than Sam’s (I’m a taurus and we tend to slow think sometimes) but it gave him a chance to play off of her which I feel they do quite a bit probably. They seemed very in tune with each other.  Next on the agenda was the autograph session.  We got there @ about 12:15 for the 12:30 and were turned away- too full come back at 4.  Well cool, we can at least eat, since we didn’t have any breakfast so we had lunch and drinks. Met up with @ourrubygirl and her daughter (normal fan), nipunad on twitter – sorry don’t know your tumblr and with ninaf and her 2 friends (side note – they were so funny before I even got to Seattle they were concerned that ninaf would invite someone from online who she had never met to stay at her house.  By then we had talked on the phone and friended each other on facebook so they had to facebook stalk me to give their approval – whew, glad I passed). 😘Photo Op!  Ugh, okay this is where we realized that this poor little comic-con was absolutely NOT ready for this Outlander fandom and where everything really started to get behind schedule.  I envy the Sat photo op participants, looks like it was more relaxed and not as rushed as Friday's– READY click NEXT! I know people have been dissing the posed photos, but after being 'there’ this is what I feel, I think SamCait enjoy the poses somewhat, cos’ otherwise the way it was with many of us on Friday we just walk in, stand next to them, click and we’re out, so I could see that for sure getting tedious AF for them, they seemed to have more fun on Sat with it – because they were allowed to also.  Anyhow the Friday photo op was close to being a complete clusterfuck, but the gestapo staff pulled it off.  There were other people there, apparently there was more than just OL there 😉 that would be like “What is this line for with all these people?” And we’d be like Outlander, and they just go off mumbling wtf is outlander? Funny. I walked in for my 'Team Outlander’ photo and I was wearing opal earrings from Mexico and Cait says to me “oh I love your earrings” Me: thank you – and I’m beaming so fucking hard I can hardly breath! So I’m 5'1” - yeah – I’m holding on to them for the photo mumble thanks or something I fecking don’t remember, patted Sam’s back turned and looked up OMFG this guy is TALL! I have a friend that is 6'7”, but Sam seemed much taller than that, I think it’s his massiveness or something IDK. His leather jacket is really soft btw.Okay NEXT – while I go back in line for my Cait only photo, ninaf goes downstairs to get in line for the autographs – good thing too since they almost turned me away by the time I got down there!  STEP OFF BITCH I WILL GET MY CATRIONA EFFING BALFE AUTOGRAPH!!!!  So by this time we are beyond hot – it was so hot in this place which wasn’t even at the convention center, everything but the panel was at the Sheraton next door.  Note to self Bring water bottle, we learned a lot of should'ves…. So there was quite a wait for this, mainly because Caitriona was still upstairs READY click NEXT! And they could only do the Sam only autographs which there weren’t a ton of apparently😁
The way they had it set up Cait first then Sam, so we had to wait for Cait to appear.  We were in the 'overflow’ line outside of the main autograph room, but could see in there a bit, we saw the lights go out, didn’t hear the comments @sileas84 mentioned, but too funny.  When we finally got to the 'room’ wow, so I am a diehard Caitriona Balfe fan, I like Sam but am not an over the top fan like most… I have to say seeing him up close and personal I COULD NOT take my eyes off of him, he was so 'cute’ doesn’t do it justice, I seriously have no word/s for it.  He was so funny and gracious and flirty with the women and NICE, very tan too, yeah, I kept running into people as the line snaked around trying to just watch him, I even almost got kicked out trying to sneak a pic – damn gestapo staffers.  So finally get up to Caitriona, um effing goddess.  She had quite the stash of gifts, I had considered giving them something but didn’t want to burden them with too much stuff and if they truly just give it away well… So I opted to give her a love letter as I call it, from me.  I didn’t know what to 'say or ask her something’ so I mentioned that I have a head shot autograph of Simon (her friend Simon Kassianides) and I can add hers to it now and she smiles and says “oh cool, I just saw him a couple of days ago!”  Me: heehee. JHRC I’m such a dweeb.  I didn’t get a Sam autograph cos’ they had sold out by the time I got online to purchase, I coached ninaf though to make sure to smell him so we could report back, since we both forgot to at the photo op :P  So we float out of the room and out into the main area and I finally just started screaming I was so excited – I got to talk to Caitriona Effing Balfe (even if it was brief)  I am so so glad I did this!
After this was all done it was getting close to our dinner plans for meeting up with other tumblrs, so we eventually got to the restaurant.  How fun to finally meet some of us.  As we came into the room I immediately recognized @rainmanjdog and @mommydog67, we had been chatting while in line for our Cait only photo and didn’t know that we were part of the tumblrs, so funny and we all almost asked each other but didn’t want to risk it – so sad.  Great night hanging with everyone, best story goes to @valkyrie1969 I still chuckle just thinking about it.  So where is the photo of us pointing at the 'Meet and Greet’ room @pentwhistle ?
Overall impression of SamCait – they are two of the most genuine, engaging, fun, cool, nicest people.
Overall impresion of our tumblrs – we are some of the most genuine, engaging, fun, cool and nicest people.

so. today marks a pretty special occasion for me. today officially marks the 5-year anniversary of the first LA Kings/hockey game i’ve ever been to. on Thursday, April 4th, 2013, my dad and i went to the Kings v. Wild game and saw Justin Williams score one minute and twenty nine seconds into the first period for what would eventually be the game-winning goal, as former Kings backup goaltender Jonathan Bernier posted a shutout.
so i’m making a post to sort of commemorate this achievement(? i guess you can call it that)--5 awesome years of being a hockey fan, and all the amazing games and events and players i’ve seen in these past 5 years.

there’s probably a hell of a lot more info number-wise i could put on here, like which individuals we’ve seen score the most for and against each team, etc., but honestly idk if i have the patience to figure that out, lmao. also i’m sure there’s plenty of games we’ve been to where so-and-so or what’s-his-face got a milestone goal/point/game career total but again, can’t be bothered to go back and look it up. for those who may want more info tho, here’s a post i made a while ago that i update regularly w/ all the games i’ve been to w/ a final score and the goal-scorers.
for real tho like. i don’t wanna get all sappy and shit and suddenly turn this post all emotional (just watch me do so anyway) but i honestly cannot express how much this sport means to me. like insert tragic backstory(tm) here and how hockey was what saved me and all that jazz but shit like. i mean yeah this shit’s got it’s ups and downs but at least whenever i get frustrating about personal stuff, i can distract myself w/ a game. or if the game’s pissing me off, at least i’m not focusing on all the shit going on in my personal life. b/c before i started watching, i really.. didn’t have much, kinda??
basically i went through a major bought of depression throughout 2012 which sorta peaked in early 2013 w/ stuff i’d rather not discuss here, but if my dad hadn’t taken me to that game 5 years ago, i honestly don’t know if i’d still be around today. i felt like i’d lost a lot. nothing interested me anymore. my favorite band at the time broke up when i felt like i’d already hit rock bottom. i had like no outlet for what little strong emotion i did feel at the time b/c otherwise i just felt empty. but when Justin Williams scored that goal a minute and twenty nine freaking seconds into that game, i knew that was it. that’s what sealed the deal for me.
i had zero idea what to expect, even w/ my dad giving me a basic rundown of the roster and some basic rules about the game. like we watched the wild warm up (b/c that’s where our seats were) and my dad kept pointing out Zach Parise to me damn-near every time he skated past us b/c he’s a former UND alumni, as is like half my family on my dad’s side, but after a while it was like “okay dad, i get it. Zach Parise. UND. pretty cool,” lmao. and then the game starts and it was so quiet. like i’ve been to like a million high school football games, a good number of pro baseball games, and one pro basketball game, but all of them were.. well a hell of a lot louder, for one. like people were watching the game, but at the same time they weren’t. people in and out of their seats all the time, tons of idle chit-chat, etc. but when that first puck dropped, people sat down and shut up. they watched, like. really watched. and when Williams scored, the utter elation of the entire building (save the wild fans of course), the horn, the “hey hey hey!” chant complete w/ fist-pumping--it was just. i honestly can’t even describe it properly. but what i can say was that it was the first time in a looong time i felt genuinely happy.
and here i am exactly 5 years later. going back to Staples for my 47th Kings game. and i like to think i’ve seen some pretty wild shit in these past five years. league rule changes that ultimately changed the entire ASG format, amazing players both leaving and joining the league (i.e. Teemu Selanne, Auston Matthews), the 2014 Olympics, a few All-Star games, and a World Cup, the first paid pro women’s league and the U.S. women’s team fight for equitable wages, the first transgender athlete to play pro hockey (i.e. the amazing and inspirational Harrison Browne), a freaking expansion team in Vegas.
and speaking of Vegas, i went to the first ever hockey games held in the new arena, and while it wasn’t the result we wanted, at least i got to spent two nights in a row in the coolest new arena in town, plus i got to see 3 native players on the ice in one game on the second night vs. the Avalanche, which is probably more than any other team/match-up in this league could boast. and i could not have been more proud.
i was there for Andy Andreoff’s NHL debut where he got into a fight w/ Matt Hendricks in his first shift on the ice.
i accidentally met Matt Greene’s parents b/c his mom happened to notice my dad was wearing his jersey and asked for a picture.
i ran into Bob Miller outside Staples and he let me see his 2014 Stanley Cup Championship ring, the same night they raised the banner.
the first time i saw my next favorite team, the Avalanche, was three years ago on the 2-year anniversary of my first Kings game, and i took @gofredthefish along for the ride.
i stood and cheered and cried for Mike Richards and Justin Williams on their return to LA after both had signed w/ the Capitals.
i was there to see Jonathan Quick’s epic scorpion kick save against Winnipeg three seasons ago (the night before we drove down to San Deigo so i could catch an Of Mice & Men concern, then drive back to LA the following day so i could catch a flight to Bismarck, ND to visit family for senior year spring break).
i jokingly put a “native curse” San Jose’s bench before warmups back in 2014 during the first round of the playoffs, the night the Kings started their reverse sweep (as well as it being Tyler Toffoli’s 22nd birthday).
the first shootout i ever saw went to the Blues, courtesy of Troy Brouwer’s goal in the 7th round.
sent our 2014 Olympians off on a high note w/ a 2-1 overtime win against the Blue Jackets where Robyn Regehr scored the gwg from right in front of where i was sitting.
went to my first game in Honda Center and the Ducks were gloriously shut out. (i was also one of maybe ten Blue Jackets fans in the entire building.)
saw Dwight King score on Marty Brodeur from the blue line, Alec Martinez score on the Avs twice on the same play, Milan Lucic’s first game in Staples Center as a King, got a video of the signature Nick Foligno/Sergei Bobrovsky Hug(tm)--twice, since they shut out the Ducks that one time, saw the home team get a 3-0 shutout in both my first NHL and AHL games, was there for the Luc Robitaille statue unveiling outside Staples, and stood less than 10 feet away from Cam Atkinson outside Staples before the 2017 ASG.
i went to a Reign game where they knocked the San Diego Gulls out of the playoffs just a couple of weeks after i was released from the hospital after falling into a diabetic-induced coma (also i had a cold but i’ll be damned if i wasn’t gonna persevere).
i went to two separate You Can Play-sponsored LGBT+ Pride Nights for both the NHL and NWHL--and speaking of which, that particular NWHL Pride Night was my first ever women’s hockey game ever. and Boston kept their “undefeated since last january” record alive and well.
and the one moment that still makes me cry every time i think about it was when i saw Matt Duchene score his first goal of the season in 2015-16 in what would eventually be his first 30-goal season. i was sat in the second row right in front of where he threw himself into the glass in celebration, so i like to think we kinda celly’d together.
but best of all, i got to meet @hockeyacegrace earlier this season on Native American Heritage Night, and took @kylorenedict to the Kings’ opening night against the Flyers to kick off the 50-year anniversary of the First Expansion. and not to mention the many other wonderful friends i’ve made in this fandom, who also include (but are not limited to) @brandoncarlo, @jodrouin27, @sadchihuahua, @elzaechelon, @marianyossa, and @dominic-turgeon.
basically just. here’s to 5 gods damned years of selling my soul to this hell on ice. and gods damn it, here’s to 5 more.

Workouts and Basketball
Ugh I’ve been so bad at tracking this week. So now I’m gonna try to do a recap. Lolz.
March 10 Friday we went out to dinner for Ani’s birthday and I didn’t work out because I came home early to hang out with people. The Nova game was on before we went, so we made some amazing spinach artichoke dip and proceeded to eat most of it out of stress bc that game was legitimately awful. We somehow pulled out the win even though Seton Hall totally deserved to win lol. But it’s ok because the dinner afterwards made everything better - they had alcoholic milkshakes, so essentially I died and went to heaven.
March 11 T slept over and bc she’s a freaking nut, she convinced us all to wake up super early before Erin’s and do a round of Speed 2.0 T25. Poor Mikey did it with no shoes and that’s easily the worst one on your feet and knees even if you have the CORRECT shoes. Woof he was a mess that day. We got to our pregame and left an hour later after chomping on mims and pannies (mimosas and pancakes) and jamming to Galway Girl. When we got to 30th, it was so freezing you couldn’t feel your face, so we tried to scurry from bar to bar to limit our outdoor exposure. We ended the day exhausted with Wendy’s and Wawa, which is really the proper way to conclude your day drinking. Thankfully the Nova game was much less painful to watch and we won the Big East Tournament 🙌🏼 bless.
March 12 Lazy Sundays are the best, but I had a benchmark run to do, so I got out there and fought off the cold at the pier. Fortunately it was a pretty day!  It was also Selection Sunday, aka the day everybody starts really loving college basketball even if they’ve never really watched.  Villanova came out on the very top for the first time ever, which is a pretty badass thing to do the year right after a championship.  Go.  Cats.

March 13 Monday I left work a little early because of the impending doom of the Nor'easter on Tuesday, but I had a recovery run to do.  I finished again on the pier, and took a cool down jog around the block to get that pic of the waters before the storm.  My selfie is my face despite my boobs hurting because of how cold it was when I stopped running.  Woof indeed.  I like that I’m not tied to tracking every time I run though, because I ran back home as well without putting it on the Nike app.  #fit for the sake of being #fit.  But also because when I was walking back to the bridge, I got a snowflake in my eye and I was like oh, time to go back I guess.
2.01 mi (but like probably more) 9′27″ min / mi
March 14 Next to nothing to report.  I worked from home, made those beautiful pancakes, and gave up on work midday to beat Bioshock 2.  Spoiler, the first Bioshock has a better ending and better story.  I’m partial to that one, sorry.  I barely took 1,400 steps the whole day and did not leave the apartment.  It was a disgusting mess outside so.  I didn’t feel that bad about it.
March 15 I had a Nike Training Club workout on the way, so I brought my sneaks to work to do a workout in our gym.  Wore the black Nike Flex 2016s for the first time in a while, and when I did a bit of a warmup on the treadmill, I was like holy shit, now I understand why going to a running store to get fitted is actually super helpful.  Those shoes hurt my feet and did not support me whatsoever after wearing the Brooks’ for a few weeks.  Damn.  Shoes make all the difference.  Instead of focusing on cardio, I did some shoulder / arms work for a bit before getting into the NTC workout.  Unfortunately, my half marathon plan thought I needed a slow boring stretching workout, so that’s what was on the docket.  I finished barely sweating.  Blech.  Sometimes I hate working out in a gym because I feel like I’m wasting my time.  I need to find time efficient circuits so I don’t feel like I’m not getting enough done.  My arms looked big af and not in a good way, but I liked the shirt I was wearing so meh.  Progress pics amirite.
When I got home, Ani and I decided to make a post-it note bracket on our wall in our kitchen so we did that while I ate that beautiful salad.  Cats all the way, obviously.  And we really just love Northwestern’s story so we love them a lot too.
March 16 The madness begins!!  Clearly I was mostly preoccupied with games all day at work.  I even ran my longest run on the treadmill for the first time in a while (!) without headphones (!!!!) so I could flip between games on the tv. The first mile recently has sucked for me - sometimes my heels hurt, sometimes it’s my shins, sometimes it’s my ankles.  Yesterday it was my left shin and my right heel.  But then it goes away once I run for a little while longer.  Wtf.  I make sure to stretch all the things after each run, so what am I doing wrong?  I wonder if my form is wrong somehow.  Like I know I’m a heel-toe runner, which isn’t great, but like most people run that way and I’ve never had problems like this before when I like actually ran more so what is going on.  I know I should probably build up my leg strength and lose some weight to help the pressure, but like.  I do that by running and putting pressure on it.  SO.  Idk.  I pushed past what I was supposed to do and ran a 5K just because I was feeling it.  Endorphins were kicking in which was awesome, since I definitely felt like I could go for longer if there wasn’t a guy waiting for me to get off :/ that’s the other thing that sucks about gyms.  You gotta be like courteous and stuff.  Can’t wait for my goddamn gym in my building to be finished!!!!!  Even though they said it was supposed to be done when we moved in (October) and they just started working on it a few weeks ago (March).  Bye apartment building management.  You blow harder than Villanova in the first half yesterday.  Good thing we came out on top bc we’re a second half team and Jay must’ve screamed their ears off at halftime.
3.31 mi 9′30″ min /mi
This post was a clusterfuck.  Oh well.  I’m bored at work bc half my team isn’t here and basketball isn’t on yet.  Once again, go cats.
