The Stewarts are an African-American family in the 1930s (though they could easily fit in the 40s or 50s as well). The family consists of Josiah, his wife Darlene, and their two children, Hazel and Philip.

I appreciate your admiration towards my artwork but this is a very disrespectful thing to ask of me. I'm not sure if this is an innocent ask, I don't see how it is because I know you've heard black people ask other cultures to not appropriate our hairstyles but I could be wrong, if this is innocent below are my boundaries, and explanations on why I (Kiko Vanity; I'm not speaking for the whole black community) I'd like to not be asked things like this in the future.

my boundaries and why

I do not make hair for people of color. People of color is a broad way to say people who are not of White/European/Anglo-Saxon phenotypes. That means people of Asian, Hispanic/Latino, African, Mixed-Race, and Aboriginal descent; and I create CC for simmers who appreciate my artwork but mainly and ideally create CC HAIRS for simmers of African descent, (including mixed race if they also have African descent) because of the lack of black hairstyles in the initial release of the game in 2014, with that, these black simmers create sims that also reflect their environments and black upbringings. I make black content if you feel comfortable downloading my content you should be comfortable saying black. I want to stress black and not African-American (despite me being African American) because there are different ethnicities for each race, including black people.

2. I am not currently taking hair requests because I'd get too many at one time and that's not great for my mental health. To piggyback off the last sentence and statement 1, please do not request my cultural hairstyles using someone who doesn't respect our wishes. You may be asking yourself, "why is this an issue? hair is hair?" (look below)

During chattel slavery, every fiber of the enslaved Africans' lives was controlled by the narcissistic people who kidnapped them. including hair, being made to cover their hair, and calling them names & degrading them for their natural hair. As the years went by and slavery ended black people but more specifically black fem presenting people held the shame for their hair. Fast forward to today, even with all the turmoil the world is facing due to greed, classism, and the patriarchy) this is the first time in history that their descendants (me being one of them) can set boundaries and say what we are comfortable with and what we are not comfortable with. And to put this as bluntly as I can:

Do not send me videos/photos/gifs of people culturally appropriating in black people's hairstyles, it's anxiety-inducing.

I'd like to also say I'm not angry because I know there is an angry black person stereotype, this is simply uncomfortable and disheartening. I hope you can respect my wishes if not please feel free to block me.

You don't have to respect or do anything I am saying. You may do as you wish after reading this. Just if you are going to engage with me these are my boundaries.

OC Questionnaire Time!

Thank you so much for the tag @holocene-sims!! I thought I would make this one about Daisy since she was (IMO) important in Ben's journey. She's his first love and I think she has multiple layers as a sim that would be interesting to explore. (I don't know yet, since she isn't going with Ben on to round five.) But here we go!

Name: Daisy Riggins

Nickname: Bear Guy, Honey Bear (Ben only uses that nickname for her lol)

Gender: Female

Star Sign: Sagittarius (Bonus for my MBTI Lovers, she's an ISFJ)

Height: 5"4

Orientation: Heterosexual

Nationality/Ethnicity: Daisy is from Granite Falls, USA. Which is nestled in Washington state (at least in my mind). I imagine her ethnicity is a mixture. Her dad is the hermit of Granite Falls and I believe he has both African American and Native American ancestry. Daisy's mother, (who isn't featured, but we'll assume she may have passed away) is Irish American, which is where she gets her beautiful ginger hair color from.

Favorite Fruit: Strawberries (they're technically fruits, albeit an accessory fruit)

Season: Springtime, of course. It's the best time to get herbal ingredients.

Flower: See, you'd think it is a daisy, but it's actually honeysuckle.

Scent: Daisy loves the smell of sweet honeysuckle in the spring and the strong scent of the pine trees in the winter.

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate: Daisy would definitely go for herbal tea (mmm, medicinal) but I think she'd indulge in hot cocoa during the fall and winter months.

Dogs or Cats: Bears.

Dream Trip: Seeing as how she's never left Granite Falls, (and probably never will) I imagine that Daisy's dream trip may stay just that, a dream trip. She loves the idea of visiting Tartosa in the Mediterranean since it's known for being a place of love and beauty. She's never seen the ocean, so I imagined she would hang out on Tartosa's sandy shores all day.

Average Sleep: A full 8 hours. (Unlike Ben)

Random Fact(s): 1. Daisy has the Outdoorsy and Hungry for Love lifestyles. So she's very much a nature girlie who's also a romantic.

2. Daisy sometimes likes to wander to campsites and startle campers while she's in her bear suit. She has a high skill level in mischief, which I didn't know until much later...(when she kept pranking Ben!)

Including this height chart, just cause it's cute! The site didn't have an avatar that really fit Daisy's vibe, but I tried.

Nickname - Big Guy, used by Cassandra when his mother isn't around because *coughs* he has some large pixel parts. Everyone else just calls him Rahul.

Gender - Cis Male

Star sign - I still don't understand star signs

Height - 6ft (although I have been thinking and might bump him up to 6ft 2 along with Reece, and bump Samir up to 6ft 4 or 5 because I've been seeing people height charts and some of y'all have some very tall sims)

Orientation - Biromantic and Bisexual

Nationality/Ethnicity - Indian descent on his mothers side, African American on his fathers. With growing up in Henford-On-Bagley he has the dreamiest British accent

Favourite Season - Autumn, the most fascinating things happen in the garden in that season

Favourite Flower - The parrot flower, yes it's a thing (he's a plant nerd aka professional gardener so he knows about bizarre plants)

Dream Trip - I mean... he already had his dream trip to Granite Falls with Cassandra where they conceived their twins in the hidden part. He would like to visit the Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand (there's over 600 species of flowers here) to marvel in the wonder of nature.

Random Fact - As a teen he kept making fake deliveries to Cassandra's house to get to know her. Bella originally ordered one delivery from Henford but after Rahul passed this to Cassandra he was smitten. He kept making deliveries and Cassandra assumed her mother was ordering more things (but she wasn't, it was all Rahul, thank god he had an employee discount). Eventually she invited him in and he was able to get her number (success!)

Pride Collection CC Kit by make_it_sizzle

I’m excited to announce the release of my Pride Collection CC Kit. On this special month of June, we celebrate Juneteenth and Pride month. As an African American man who also happens to be gay and play The Sims, creating this CC kit was so important for me. I truly feel as though the spirit of Storme DeLarverie should be in each and every one of us, which is why I named one of my CC items after them.

Below is a brief history of the two holidays.

If you do not already know, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Celebrated annually on June 19th, its origins date back to 1865. On June 19, 1965, General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people were now free. However, the enslaved people had no idea they had already been emancipated. That June 19th announcement arrived 2 and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1st, 1863.

The first Pride was a riot. Pride Month is an annual celebration of many of the contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to cultures, society, and history worldwide. Pride commemorates its roots in the Stonewall Riots that occurred on June 28th, 1969. As was a common practice in many cities, the New York Police Department (NYPD) would occasionally raid bars where gays and lesbians were known to gather. On June 28, police dragged patrons and employees out of Stonewall In, a popular gay bar in Manhattan, New York, and several people fought back against the NYPD. It was said that Storme DeLarverie, a gay rights activist, threw the first punch at the riot. A crowd of people slowly but surely grew which turned into a 6 day protest which was led largely by Black LGBTQ+ women that marched the streets of Manhattan.

New York Brownstone building

Hi, my fellow simmers! ♡

Today I’m sharing with you a New York Brownstone building!

It has in total 8 apartments but I renovated the 3 of them. They are all designed in different styles.

The first one is a built-in smart apartment for a family of four with only one bedroom but a lot of storage space!

The second one is an exotic apartment inspired by the Latin American and African cultures so I imagined the couple who lives here came from the different sides of the world and decided to combine their cultures in their city apartment.

The third one is a green apartment designed to be perfect for plant parents and plant lovers.

I also decorated a small community space on top of the roof and a tiny industrial street bar.

No one follows this anymore because it's been extremely inactive, but I decided to change to a writing blog since I graduated university. My WIP is called "The Priestess" (due to have a name change) and I've been working on it since late 2021/early 2022. Here's a little intro about me:

I've been writing stories since I was a kid but never published anything cause I could never finish

Here's a bit about my WIP

No tropes I can think of since it kinda started off as an anti-trope project

I'm 2/3 of the way done with the first draft (20 VERY LONG chapters in Google Drive)

Inspired by Japanese folklore typically seen in anime and Jewish demonology

It's an adventure, fantasy, mystery comedy(?) set in an alternate world than ours.

The MC is a 20-something Orthodox Jew-adjacent woman of color named Yana Darling. The main cast of characters that'll be in her main group are all Jewish-adjacent. It is a fictional religion called Nabalism that closely mirrors Judaism and other folk religions.
