Click Me For Part 1!
When Someone Insults Ganyu, Bennett, and Nilou vs When Someone Insults Reader...
(Disclaimers: Might Be OOC, Mentions of Violence, & Quest/Genshin Impact Lore Spoilers!)
Ganyu
Okay, first of all: Yes, I am adding that stupid idiot cough Xin Cheng cough into this.
You were just following the Traveler and Paimon, joining Ganyu's Story Quest which, for some reason, was not completed yet. So, you decided to tag along to see Ganyu!
You weren't hyped when that beggar came out of nowhere and started to do all that fairytale stuff even you don't approve of—and you were someone that sticks themselves into your own head, thank you very much.
So when this man started to gain the audacity to insult Ganyu, you knew you had to step up and do something. No one, and you quite mean it, was going to insult her and get away with it.
"Hey!" You came out from your hiding spot (you're the Almighty Creator, you know it'll make the situation worse). "Just what the hell do you think you're doing, huh?"
Xin Cheng pales at the sight of your enraged figure. He stutters to make an excuse, but you cut him off. You're having none of it.
"Get your useless self out of here, before I decide to kick it down the mountains myself!"
To say that Ganyu was shocked that you were getting angry over a mortal was an understatement. She was beyond surprised that you even stood up for her.
But she did have to intervene with your threatening—after all, she is still an Adeptus. Protecting the people of Liyue was still her duty.
"Your Grace...Please let him go. I'm sure he already understands his mistake." Ganyu's soft voice only made your anger increase—she sounded so upset!
"Y-yes, please, Your Grace! I understand what I've done wrong, I—"
"Silence." You glare down at the mortal. Your turn back to Ganyu, and considered your choices. While you wanted to wreck absolute vengeance on this man, you also didn't want to hurt Ganyu's feelings more.
Guess you were going down Trauma Lane, then. You sigh, and stomp your feet as you turn around to glare at Xin Cheng, catching his petite form by surprise.
"If I ever see you do this again..." Your eyes narrow. "Believe me when I say it—you will be granted no mercy by any adeptus nor Rex Lapis himself. Now SCRAM!" With that, he was running for the hills. You weren't entirely satisfied, but you'll take it. For now.
What would Happen if Ganyu heard you get insulted? Well, first of all, she would gasp quietly to herself. What was this blasphemy? She's utterly horrified.
Ganyu thinks she might faint once she realizes you were nearby, checking out vendor goods next to where the gossipers were spilling terrible insults of your image.
"Y-Your Grace! Please accept my apology on behalf of the people of Liyue." Will literally run up to you and apologize for them. While she may not be the one who did it, she's still cares about the People of Liyue—and thus her reasoning as to why she's askign for the mercy of the Almighty Creator.
Your puzzled look turns to Ganyu. "Who are you apologizing for?" Ganyu blinks.
"The, uhm—the gossipers..?" You're still confused, until your eyes shine once recognition hits you like Truck-Kun.
"Ohhh, those dudes! Yeah, don't worry about them—they're pretty boring, saying the same thing like a broken record. Say—wanna shop with me? I'm paying, of course."
And that's how you got Ganyu to be more comfortable around you! :D
Bennett
Ah, our unlucky yet optimistic adventurer! This boy—he is good. He's cool, and he's rather awed by most of the kids in Mondstadt.
He was hanging out with Razor and Fischl when someone decides to insult him. this genuinely upsets him—after all, they were insulting his ability and his position in the Adventurer's Guild...
Already, Razor and Fischl were already up to defend him, but what they didn't expect is for the Almighty Creator (aka you) got to it first.
"I beg your pardon," you say through gritted teeth. "How exactly is having a bad luck aura got to do with ANYTHING related to being an adventurer?" You're glaring so many daggers you could practically say you were breaking all the walls. "Perhaps we'll see just how lucky you are when I send you to Dragon Spine and watch your dead corpses FREEZE TO DEATH?"
The insulters were paling the more you went on. Razor and Fischl aren't sure what to do—you're already there, dealing with the situation.
But Bennett? Well uh, like usual, his bad luck got the best of him, and he accidentally stumbles towards you (miraculously). He bumps into you, and you shift your gaze onto him.
"Uh—Sorry, Your Grace! I really didn't mean to bump into you, I swear!" Poor guy is scared because his bad luck affected him at the worst time of all. He thinks he might get killed.
You though? Oh, hell nah. Your gaze already soften, and you decided to show favoritism! You pull the boy into a hug, glaring at the insulters one more time as a warning to scram, before you go back to enjoying giving the boy affection!
But when Bennett hears you get insulted? Well, first of all, screw his bad luck because the insulters were quite literally telling him how bad of a Creator you were!
He immediately tries to avoid getting too deep into the discussion, trying to sway the topic elsewhere to no avail, and he pales when he realizes you were literally a few steps away from them!
And it seems his bad luck gets in the way again, because you just turned right as he was staring at you with shocked eyes!
However, instead of being mad, you were actually beaming when you see him. You wave at Bennett, smiling.
"Bennett! Help me choose some flowers, yeah?"
"Uhm—uh, Sure, Your Grace!"
And that's how the insulters were hiding in their homes for the rest of their lives as you merrily dragged Bennett out of that horrendous conversation.
Nilou
Honestly, do I need to say who decided to insult this amazing dancer?
Yes, it was fricking Azar again. What is up with this crazy old man, nobody knows. Perhaps you should put him in prison for a while until he's gained a sense of appreciation for the Arts. ALL of the Arts.
Apparently, when you had drilled fear into this man, he thought it only applied to flipping Nahida. As much as you love Nahida, you are not going to have Azar twists your words and make it seem like you grant him permission to snark down other people—especially the people of Zubayr Theater.
So when Azar finally decides to have scholars gain the nerve to insult Nilou on behalf of his stupid brain, you (of course) just had to get yourself involved with this.
"Excuse me, but since when did you have the audacity to judge someone else's profession of art, simply because it isn't 'academic' in any way?" You spat. "Where I come from, Art courses are necessary in order to move on in your academic life." When Nilou hears you, she, first of all, is grateful of you stepping up for her, and, second of all, very scared of what might be happening next.
The scholars pale, but they seem to have taken your comment as a debate.
"With all due respect, Your Grace, the Arts are anything but educational—"
"Was I looking for a second opinion, dimwit?" You narrow your eyes. "Besides, have you yourself ever tried the Art of Dancing or the Art of Music before?"
"Well—uhm, no, but—"
"Then shut up, then." The scholars begin to panic as your voice becomes low and dangerous. "You don't have an excuse to be judgmental if you haven't even tried this stuff yourself."
"Ex-Sage Azar told us to say this!" They blurt out, and that only increases your rage. Seeing that things might escalate, Nilou steps in.
"Your Grace, let's not be too harsh!" She exclaims, waving her hands frantically. "I'm sure they understand what they did wrong. There's no need to have them punished." You narrowed your eyes in disagreement, for a half second, Nilou thought she made the situation worse.
But when you sigh heavily, she knew you relented. You glare at the scholars again.
"Tell Azar if he does this again, to ANYONE, I'll cut his head off, and there's no more excuses there. In fact—bring me to him. I'll have a talk with him myself."
Yeah, Azar got traumatized again :)
But when Nilou hears you be insulted? Quite literally behind your back? She thought she was going to faint from the gossiper's comments alone! You being there to listen it to it all only made her feel worse.
She was about to confront them, until she saw other people nearby dealing with the situation. So, Nilou decides to check up and see if you were okay...After all, those comments weren't nice.
She was pretty shocked when she realized you were contemplating over wares instead, completely unbothered by the drama going on behind your back. Nevertheless, she was still going to apologize in case you were just hiding your emotions.
"Uhm, Your Grace—I would like to apologize on behalf of all of Zubayr Theater. We should've done something earlier." You look at her, confused.
"What are you apologizing for, Nilou?" You ask. She blinks.
"Uhm, the gossipers, Your Grace..?" Your eyes widen, before you bark a laugh.
"Oh, those dudes! Yeah—don't worry about them, honestly. Say—help me pick: should I get hot chocolate or tea from this lovely store?"
Let's just say you had a fun time hanging out with Nilou for the rest of the afternoon :)
AND THAT'S IT! WE ARE DONE! I AM SO SORRY FOR BEING INACTIVE AND TAKING 30+ YEARS TO FINISH THIS, BUT IT'S HERE! :D I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED IT!

diluc trudged down the path through the whispering woods, kicking aside overgrown bushes. his patrol had proved worth his while, the hilichurls near starfell lake had begun to regroup, and were fashioning shields. they were easy enough to take care of, but the smell of ash clung to his clothes and his arms were rather sore. perhaps he should cut tonight short, he had been doing quite a bit of labor today…
whispers off the side of the path caught his attention and he stopped to listen, turning slightly.
“-grass isn’t edible!”
“is too! teacher had a book about it!”
he stepped and pushed aside the bushes, startling those beyond them.
two figures hunched around a patch of lamp grass, the blue light doing little to help with the dense canopy overhead. two visions shone in the dark, one purple and one red, and he identified them after a moment.
bennett, eyes wide and on scuffed knees, and his friend from the forest, the one lisa was teaching grammar, hunched over in an odd crouch.
“what are you two doing out so late?”
“is lamp grass edible?” razor asked, pointing to the glowing plant, and diluc stared.
“…it’s used in a few recipes, yes, but-“
in an instant he snatched up the plants, ripping up some of their roots in his haste to shove them into his jacket.
“we leave now,” he said simply, standing and pulling bennett up with him. “thank you, master diluc.”
diluc stepped to block their exit. “you didn’t answer my question. bennett, what are you doing out? friend or not, your dads would have your head if they knew you were in the woods after dark.”
“i wasn’t just wandering! i was-…” he stopped suddenly, as if aware whatever he would say would get him into trouble. “we were looking for some stuff.”
“that doesn’t answer my question. anything would be easier to find before dark.”
“we looked with the sun,” razor interrupted, the soft glow from his pocket slightly illuminating his disappointment. “but nothing was found.”
diluc sighed. he couldn’t be mad at them, not really, mot when it was clear they never meant to stay out so late.
“whatever you’re looking for can be found in the morning. for now, come with me back to the city. razor, we’ll stop at a waypoint so you can return to wolvendom, okay?”
the two boys nodded, and he let them cross into the path.
“but don’t do this again, understood? and if you need help, ask.”
they both nodded, and diluc was left to wonder why they needed lamp grass in the first place.

“oh! sir albedo!”
albedo stopped, finishing his sentence on his clipboard before looking up, seeing noelle rushing over to him from the direction of the library.
“lady noelle. are you in need of something?”
she shook her head, metal gloves clicking together as she clasped her hands. idly, albedo noted the many scratches on them, presumably from the same action. “oh not at all, i’m alright, but lisa wanted me to remind you that your copy of ‘common medicinal herbs and their uses’ was due for either renewal or to be turned in soon, and to please not poison yourself again.”
albedo took the small card she handed him, noting the date. “i see. i’ll make note of this, and i’ll be sure to turn it in shortly. thank you, noelle.”
he took a step away but she stopped him with a hand, a flicker of irritation running through him.
“is there something else?”
“well, not from lisa, but i wanted to ask why you were researching this? normally you’re in dragonspine and studying ley lines, not stationed just outside of springvale and renting books on plants…”
he turned fully towards her, tucking away his pen and holding his notes close to his chest. “i am an alchemist, and the study is not fully about ley lines. i admit this is somewhat outside of my usual range of work, but sucrose is currently on medical leave—as i’m certain you already know—and i have no other sources of information aside of field research. this project is not an assignment, merely an interest of mine, and as such it has not made its way onto any formal paperwork. however, i can assure you i am not behind in any of my work.”
“ah- i never meant that you were behind! i was just curious!”
his papers crinkled under his hand. “there is no need to be. good day, miss noelle.”
without another word, he turned on his heel and left, making his way down the stairs and out the front gates of mondstat. taking his clipboard away from his chest, he reread the last portion of his notes to get his bearings, pulling out his pen to finish the report.
‘i’m not certain as to why you’d need these notes, klee, considering the knights are well-equipped to handle injuries, but please do not try to make your own medicine. it’s dangerous near wolvendom on a normal day, and you know what’s been going on lately. please, come see me or the healers for any injuries you may have.
‘remember, the knights are here to help.’

“diona? what are you doing out here?”
fish scattered as boots stomped through the shallow water, glittering scales barely visible through the splash.
“wh- hey! you scared off the fish!” diona shouted, tail lashing behind her. all that time she spent, waiting for the plumpest fish to swim up from the depths of the lake for nothing! now she had to wait even longer!
“fish? what do you need fish for?” draff asked, stopping near her as she sat on a rock, collecting her things. “are you hungry? oh, do you need more scales? i know the traveller helped you last time, but i have pretty quick reflexes too! i could catch you some.”
“as if,” she mumbled, glaring at where he was still standing in the lake. “and it’s fine, i don’t need your help.”
he watched in confusion as she brushed right past him, reaching to pluck snapdragon instead. “diona… you know you shouldn’t be out here, not now. it’s dangerous, and i don’t want you caught up in-“
“i’m fine.” she carefully put the flowers in her bag, pulling out her bow and scanning the waters. all the fish were far too lean, barely anything on their bones, but she might as well get something, right? “just stay still this time.”
before he could say anything—or worse, step forward and scare off the fish again—she nocked an arrow, collecting cryo on the tip. as soon as a fish got within range she let it fly, the cryo forming a spear that stabbed through the gills, pinning it in place. she set down her bow and carefully pulled the fish out, twisting the arrow to kill it before removing the small icicle and throwing it aside. it wasn’t a clean kill, and definitely not worth all the waiting she did, but… it was better than nothing.
“what do you need a fish for? we have plenty back in springvale…”
she ignored him, putting her bag over her shoulders and picked up the fish by the tail. “it’s fine. you better go back soon, you’re due for a patrol.”
her father hesitated, eyes wide and lost.
“diona, is this about last night? i already said i was sorry-“
“and i heard you then. now get out of the lake, your socks are going to get wet!”
he looked down and quickly stepped out of the water, taking off one boot to check that no water had gotten in. by the time he confirmed there wasn’t, she was gone, only a swaying bush to indicate where she had gone.
draff sighed.

razor stayed low to the ground as he ran, one hand on the strap of his bag. the patrols had gotten too close again, he’d heard lisa talk about it, and he couldn’t follow her orders to stay away.
‘it’s dangerous,’ she’d said, distaste apparent in her eyes. ‘and i’d hate for you to get involved in such things. you’re too young.’
‘too young.’ him?
he climbed up a cliff as quick as he could, the scrape of stone against his fingertips familiar, and pushed through the thick bushes at the top. thorns pulled at his jacket, denser than they should be, but he continued anyway, gritting his teeth through the pain.
‘too young.’ too young to read notes stained with droplets of blood, too young to sneak books about medicine into his reading practice, too young to bite through the bitter skin of wolfhooks in accordance with the notes albedo had taken at klee’s prompting.
too young to see knights swarming the place he’d come to know as safe, too young for the stench of blood to reach his nose, stronger than just the small drops beading on his skin.
kaeya was the first one to spot him, quickly excusing himself and walking over, attempting to block the scene even as razor cranes to try and see around him.
“razor! what are you doing here, huh? wasn’t your pack further south?”
in between people, he could see the stone he used to tuck supplies under, the white of a paper just barely sticking out amidst the shadows.
“what happened?”
kaeya sighed. “a patrol ran into somebody that we’ve been looking for for a while.” just say it. “things got.. a bit messy. are you alright, by the way? the bushes around here are incredibly thick…”
his arms barely stung. he kept his eye on the stone tucked between two wolfhook bushes. “i’m fine. here for wolfhooks.” he pointed through the crowd and kaeya looked, turning back with an odd twist to his lip.
“i think you’re better off finding wolfhooks elsewhere, razor. if you go down the path im certain you’ll find more.”
he knew. he shook his head anyway. “need these ones.”
another sigh. why was everybody sighing today? they had nothing to fear for.
“alright, fine. just stick close to me, alright?”
he put a hand on razor’s shoulder and let him through the crown of people, keeping his body between him and the source of the blood-smell. it didn’t matter.
razor crouched purposely close to the bushes, setting his bag right on top of the stone. he reached for the further wolfhooks first, knocking down the ones closer to him, dropping them into his bag on top of the skewers he was meant to leave. he picked up two of the fallen wolfhooks and hid the paper against his palm, pretending to rearrange the berries as he buried the note deep into his bag.
when he stood, kaeya turned with a smile. it was forced. “all done?”
razor nodded, clutching his bag close to his chest with both arms.
“good! now do me a favor and stick close to springvale for a while, okay?”
razor nodded again. “swear.”
hidden against his jacket, two of his fingers crossed.

jean’s chair scraped against the floor as she sat at the head of the meeting table. “so, any news on the hunt?”
heads shook all around the table. a few hands clenched, a few jaws ticked, but nobody spoke up.
jean held back a sigh, reviewing the papers in front of her. “we have to catch them before they leave mondstat… has the only time we’ve seen them been with captain kaeya’s patrol?”
everybody nodded, but kaeya himself didn’t seem satisfied. instead, he stared across the table at klee, who was drawing on a notepad.
“klee?”
she looked up at his voice, and though jean raised an eyebrow, he continued, leaning forward in his chair. “have you spoken to razor recently?”
klee thought about it for a moment, but eventually shook her head. “nope!”
“klee’s been in solitary for the past few days,” jean cut in. “why are you asking about razor?”
kaeya shrugged. “he showed up at the scene and seemed pretty insistent on getting the wolfhooks there-“
“and you let him?”
“look, lisa, it would have been harder to say no. you want me to explain to him what’s going on? you haven’t.”
electricity crackled across lisa’s fingertips. “he should never have been allowed to get close.”
“he popped up out of nowhere, what was i supposed to do? shove him back into the bushes?”
“kaeya.”
the silence that followed was only broken when klee put her pen on the table with a loud clack!, smiling widely at her finished drawing.
jean sighed, directing her attention towards her to try and break the tension. “klee, before you went to solitary-“ her excitement dimmed, her smile slipping to a pout, and jean’s heart hurt a bit “-did you talk to anybody? outside of the knights, of course.”
she thought about it again, carefully putting away her pen and tearing off the sheet of paper with her drawing on it. “nope! klee’s stayed within the walls for the last… month, maybe? i don’t want to get in the way!”
albedo looked up from his notes—did he ever stop working?—with a frown. “then why did you ask me about herbs?”
herbs?
she shrugged. “curious! bennett needed help with a friend of his, so i wanted to ask you because you’re super smart!”
a few of the knights smiled. albedo did not.
“a friend…”
klee picked up her notepad, free hand on the edge of the table. “can i leave?”
jean sighed. “sure, klee. stay out of trouble, okay?”
she nodded with a wide smile, pushing herself away from the table and walking away, leaving her drawing on the table.
jean picked it up, “klee, you left this!”
she paused for a moment, turning, but eventually continued. “you can have it!”
jean’s lip picked up in a small smile as klee reached for the door handle, carefully closing it behind her. she picked up the drawing, turning it right side up.
it was simple, as most children’s drawings were, and though the pen that albedo got her had multiple kinds of ink inside, she was still limited on color. two trees stood on either edge of the page, and three figures stood on grass. one was small, with a red hat and bag, labeled ‘mE!’. another had goggles and a weird circle at its side, named ‘bEnnY!’, and besides him was somebody in what looked like a jacket and with fluffy hair, named ‘razor!’.
it was cute. the z in razor was backwards, and the bushes were little more than some scribbles, but she had clearly put effort into it. there was even some wolfhooks on a bush, with a little label of….
“jean? is something wrong?”
jean slammed the paper on the desk and stood, uncaring of the way her chair skid as she pulled her jacket off the back of it, quickly putting it on.
“all of you, with me.”
the wolfhooks weren’t wolfhooks. they were eyes.
eyes labeled ‘the creator’.

About The Cultists I
How some members of The Church of Mondstadt joined the cult, what they did in the cult, and where they went when they were told to leave.
The Brainrot that started it all
Ft. Aether, Albedo, Amber, Barbara, Bennett, Diluc, Diona, Eula, Fischl, Jean, Kaeya, Klee, Lisa, Mika, Mona, Noelle, Razor, Rosaria, Sucrose, Venti
Tw: Cults, Children being in cults, Child Abuse
Published: September 3, 2023
Words: 1,704 (1,667 w/o the names)
Pages: 5.1 (4.8 w/o the names)
Aether Via: Was introduced to it by his sister and daughter shortly after waking from a five-year coma. But didn't join until two months later, when he met a third member of the cult; a police officer named Amber. Shortly after joining, he became the one and only mailman for the cult. Or rather, one of the only mailmen, as he prefers to take his daughter with him. Because he doesn't have a car, and it takes a day's walk to get from one compound to another. Was one of the few members that didn't get their own place when everyone was told to disperse. Currently has no job.
Albedo Kriedeprinz: Was introduced to it by his mother's friend Alice, during his college years. Joined shortly after graduating, and after a visit to the Temple of Liyue, he dedicated himself to perfectly recreating Their Grace's appearance. He learned several different forms of art to do so, from crafting stained glass portraits to carving concrete statues. When told to get his own place, he got a two-bedroom suburbian house between his job, a park, and the Church, to make things convenient for him and Klee. Currently works as the Head Forensic Scientist for the Teyvat City Police Department.
Amber Outrider: Was introduced to it by her superiors, Jean and Kaeya, when she was in police training. Joined shortly after her grandfather went missing. She didn't have much to do there, until some teens and kids moved in, which is when she appointed herself as their unofficial PE teacher. A job that she continues after she's commanded to move off-property. She moved into an apartment near the heart of Teyvat City, which she shares with her friend Eula, and Eula's friend Yanfei. Currently works as a patrol officer for the Teyvat City Police Department.
Barbara Pegg: Was introduced to it by her sister Jean, and a nomad named Alice, not long before she became an idol. But didn't officially join until her father found out and kicked her out of the house for "Betraying God". After quite some time there, she became both the Deaconess for the Church, and a nurse for the people living there. Is one of the few that didn't move off the compound when everyone was told to move out. Currently works as an Idol on YouTube.
Bennett: Was introduced to the cult by his childhood friend Barbara, and joined after running away from his abusive foster home. When he's not studying or sparring, he's either wandering the fields that surround the Church, or exploring the distant forest behind it. Due to still being a minor, he never moved out of the Church. Currently has no job.
Diluc Ragnvindr: Was introduced to the cult by his boss, Varka, but didn't join until years later, when the Church of Snezhnaya saved his life. He stayed there for a bit, before discovering that several old friends were members of the Church of Mondstadt. That, combined with the fact that the Church of the first-born was closer to the Dawn Winery than that of the seventh-born, inspired him to move compounds. Sells wine to the cult at a 75% discount. When he was told to get his own place, he simply had a small renovation done to the Dawn Winery and moved in there. Currently works as the CEO of Dawn Winery, and the Restauranteur of a bar named Angels Share.
Diona Katzlein: Was introduced into the cult by Kaeya after he saved her from a fierce winter storm, and joined them shortly after. She was disturbed to learn that the majority of the members drank alcohol, but pleased to learn that none of them were abusive like her dad. She has taken it upon herself to create a drink so disgusting that it would turn her new family away from drinking, but has yet to do so. Due to her age, she never moved off the compound. Currently has no job.
Eula Lawrence: Was introduced to the cult by Amber shortly after becoming a cop, and joined after discovering how geniunely nice a majority of the members were. Teaches the teens how to navigate the wild after noticing them go on multi-day adventures. Gets an apartment for her, Amber and Yanfei to move into in Teyvat City. Currently works as the Captain of Teyvat City's Fourth Precinct.
Fischl Luftschloss-Nerfidort: Was introduced to the cult by Bennett, and joined when she realized that it would surround her with kindred spirits. Was almost overjoyed that they let her crow familiar, Oz, stay with her inside the Church as opposed to outside of it. Often goes on adventures with the other teens, which aid her in remembering tales from her homeworld. Still lives in the Church. Currently has no job.
Jean Gunnhildr: Was introduced to the cult by Varka, but didn't join until after a curropt cop drove her childhood friend away. After joining, she slowly but surely worked her way up to High Priestess of the Church of Mondstadt, and as a reward, became one of the few people in the cult to know who Barbatos was disguised as. Her position as High Priestess gave her permission to stay at the Church when everyone was told to move out, but she decided to get a house in Teyvat's suburbs with Lisa. Currently works as the Deputy Police Chief in Teyvat City.
Kaeya Alberich: Similarly to his brother, he was introduced to the cult by Varka, but didn't join until after Crepus's death, when the Church of Mondstadt saved his life. Out of all the members, he spends the least amount of time on the compound, as he's either busy working, or busy spreading the word of Their Grace. Got himself a one-bedroom apartment when he was told to move out. Currently works as the Captain of Teyvat City's First Precinct.
Klee Hexenzirkl: Was born into and raised by the cult, although it did take her a few years to become an official member, as no one knew what kind of Vision to give her. Spends most of her time creating fun shows for the other members, all of which are loud, colorful, and accidentally destructive. Is the only- if not, then one of the only- members to move out of the Church when the adults received the command. Currently has no job.
Lisa Minci: Was introduced to the cult by her old college classmate, Cyno, but didn't join until after she met and befriended Jean. Is the founder of the Church of Mondstadt's library, and spends her time either managing it, or teaching the teens and kids inside of it. Is currently renting a house in Teyvat City's suburbs with Jean. Currently works as the Head Librarian in the Teyvat City Library.
Mika Schmidtt: Was introduced to the cult by his brother's, Huffman, coworkers back when he was a teen. But he didn't join until after he graduated from police training. His job at the cult is to scout for new members to join, and report all he finds on them to people like Varka and Kaeya. Currently lives in a studio apartment in Teyvat City. Currently works as a patrol officer for the TCPD.
Mona Megistus: Was saved from homelessness by the cult- The Church of Fontain, to be specific- who helped her get back onto her feet. But later moved into the Church of Mondstadt to spare herself from the COF's High Priest. Spends her time predicting either day-to-day events, or bigger, slow-moving ones. Currently lives in a studio apartment in Teyvat City. Currently works as an astrology/zodiac writer for a news company known as The Steambird.
Noelle Maiden: Was introduced to the cult by Jean and Kaeya while at the police academy, but didn't join the cult until she failed her training for the third time in a row. Spends most of her time either cleaning the Church of Mondstadt, or cooking food for her fellow Worshipers. When told to move out, she got herself a job as a full-time nanny for a rich family in Teyvat City. She lives with them in their penthouse.
Razor: Was introduced to the cult when Barbatos and his followers chose their Church of Mondstadt, but didn't join until he befriended Varka and Lisa. Spends his time showing the other teens, and sometimes the children, how to navigate the forest behind the Church. Never moved out because of his age, but technically never moved in, either, as he prefers sleeping in the woods.
Rosaria Church: Was introduced to the cult by Varka, but didn't join until they saved her from a life of crime. She adored the cult's endless kindess to her, and decided to repay it by becoming the first nun of the Church of Mondstadt. But after Morax's disappearance, she was contracted by Varka and Jean to keep the cult safe. Currently still lives in the Church with Barabara and the children.
Sucrose Bio: Was introduced to the cult through Albedo during her college years, but didn't join until after she lost her only two friends. Is constantly trying to invent things to make her fellow Believer's lives easier, or constantly trying to improve the things she's already invented. Is currently living with her coworker, Timaeus, and works as a Forensic Pathologist for the TCPD.
Venti Himmel: Is the first member of Creator's Grace, and was granted the position of Anemo Archon, a vessel of the deceased firstborn, Mondstadt, due to recruiting thirty new members within a month. And is also the only one of the only still-remaining Archons. Prefers to keep his identity secret so he can a) relax more and b) get a closer and more personal look at his follower's lives. As the Archon of the Church of Mondstadt, he was allowed to stay, but decided to move out to keep the appearance of him being 'just another member' up. Is currently living in a homeless shelter, and gains his money by performing street art.

SAGAU voicelines request!
How would characters react to Reader cheering for them through the screen (like "C'mon, you can do it!" "Good job, [character name]!!!" "Amazing!!!! Good work!!!"]...but the characters are the ones less used/thought to be weak by the fandom.
Here they are self-aware of their status in the teams, like Kokomi/Barbara/Diona/etc being the healers, Bennet/Mona/etc supports, or Amber/etc just...useless (no offense, i myself main Amber from the start of the game). Like they know they are supposed to be the heal or support of the team but you still main/use them as a DPS. Hopefully you understood my request, I apologize if it sounds messy.
Ah my sweet summer child, every character I build is a ‘support’ with like two exceptions. DPS? Never heard of ‘em.
Also, I framed the voice lines as if the Traveler was asking the other characters thoughts on you. I feel as if quite a few of them would be too shy to be open with the reader, so I figured this worked a tad better.
The way that you cheer them on means the world to them. Sure, they knew they weren’t the greatest at this sort of thing, it wasn’t their specialty, yet you didn’t mind. You didn’t get angry at the fact that they weren’t able to do massive amounts of damage. You loved them just as they were: and it meant everything to them. Your encouragement, your support, your unwavering faith in them; it pushed them to go further and further, striving to overcome their own limits, to grow even more. They’ll put forth the effort without hesitation if it means they can bring a smile to your face.
Tumblr media
“Ah, you are familiar with [Name] as well Traveler? Interesting! Personally I consider myself very lucky to have received their guidance. I could not have led Watatsumi Island nearly as well as I have were it not for them. I am not someone who relies heavily on brute force, but even still I have found comfort in the power that [Name] has granted me. I only hope I can use it to protect the people of Watatsumi to the best of my ability.”
Tumblr media
“Oh! Traveler! I wanted to thank you for helping me out with the whole Albert situation. Is there anything I can do for you in return? … Eh? My thoughts on [Name]? Well I deeply appreciate them and all they’ve done for me. I hope to someday make them proud!”
Tumblr media
“If you’ve come to try to get more booze then you can turn right back aroun- Oh! It’s you! How are you Traveler? Did you need some help with something? Hm? [Name]? Well yes, of course I know them! I’m not dumb! What I think of them? Well… They’re very important to me. They have always been there for me, and that means a lot to me. Plus when they take me traveling I don’t have to deal with those smelly alcoholics!”
Tumblr media
“Traveler! There you are! Wanna go on an adventure? …Huh? My luck? Well, yeah I guess I’m always a bit nervous about my luck, but recently I’ve had [Name] watching my back! When I have them watching my back, I know that everything will be just fine!”
Tumblr media
“What is it? Honestly, who comes knocking on someone’s door at this early in the morning?! H-Huh?! What do you mean it’s already noon!?!? Ah this is really bad! Sorry no time to chat! I have to get ready for [Name]’s next Spiral Abyss expedition! I can’t bear to let them down!”
Tumblr media
“Oh hey Traveler! It’s been a while since I saw you here in Mondstsdt! How about we stop by Good Hunter and catch up a little bit! Ah, you have a question for me? Sure thing Honorary Knight! Ask away!” “[Name]? Well yes, of course I know who [Name] is! I don’t get to hear from them often, but whenever I do, it’s the best feeling in the world! While a little part of me wished they’d call for me more, I can make due with what I’ve been given. After all, as Outrider, I have to keep watch for trouble!”

I usually switch characters around since I like to play everyone I have but the team I play the most is Traveler(Aether), Chongyun, Kazuha and Bennett. I love them all
Tumblr media
Note: Yes, they are all good boys!
Team Comp: Aether, Chongyun, Kazuha, Bennett
Team Comps Request list: Status: Closed
They all want your attention, give it to them! With puppy dogs eyes they would band together to beg you to stay with them a little longer using their sad lines to guilt-trip you and when they could see that you were about to leave you will hear them suddenly make the hurt sound as if they have been hurt by something. Please please don't go! They want to be with you a little longer!
When you join the game the first thing you would see is one of them surrounded by flowers when you didn't place them there. They cant give you a bouquet so they would have to make do with this, Aether would be around Windwheel Aster and Bennett too, while when it is Chongyun’s turn you will be around flowers that belonged to Liyue and Inazuma for Kazuha. They take turns getting you really, it's cute while a bit strange for you sometimes.
They work hard together to please when you fight, trying their very best. They adore you and knowing that you adore them just as much just makes them so happy. Chongyun had to be careful so that he won't faint when he was like this, Bennett also need to be careful when he skips in joys in case he might trip and fall. Really they are just super happy that sometimes they just don't know what to do with themselves.
Kazuha and Aether's smug smiles towards other characters that you have would make you laugh, yet worry a bit when you saw the death glares others are giving to the boys.

STARS IN THE ABYSS sagau!genshin
Tumblr media
notes // hi there :) thank you for requesting. this new series seems to be popular hehe, so thank you everyone for requesting. i hope you like it <33
navigation // stars in the abyss
Ayato
He would be terrified the very first time in the abyss, being in the unknown place, while fighting monsters with people he doesn't know. He hides it well, and tries to bury his fear and worry, busying himself by defeating the monsters of the abyss.
Over the several times fighting in the abyss, he slowly gets to know his group. Without any prior agreement, the adults protect the youngest, Bennett, the boy from Mondstadt.
Surprisingly, he somewhat befriends the two adepti. He was very surprised when they told him who they were. But with two warriors of Rex Lapis he feared less and feels quite safe.
Ganyu
She despises the abyss and her having to fight in this rotten place. Luckily, Xiao is always with her, and so she is a steady support to her fellow adepti and the human from Inazuma.
She has to admit, she likes Ayato. Once she started talking to him, she realized what a goon conversalist he is. And he was rather good with both his vision and sword.
Ganyu doesn't like how a boy always has to fight with them, which is why she is very protective of him. He reminds her of the children in Liyue Harbor, running around and enjoying life. He should be doing that too, but here he is, fighting in the abyss.
Bennett
Bennett doesn't like the abyss at all, he is confident to say he hates it. And he doesn't just hate something.
Luckily, there are always his super strong teammates with him, while he gave his support, they did the heavy lifting. It's the best like that, all of them realized quickly, the more support they gave, the faster they could clear the abyss together.
He first feared Xiao too, an adepti, just like Ganyu. But unlike Ganyu, Xiao looked mean, but he had to, so he could scare away all the monsters.
Xiao
Xiao knows of the dangers in the abyss, which is why he doesn't like it all, that two mortals are with him and Ganyu. It's his duty to protect them, even if they're from different nations. He ends the fights as fast as possible, barely resting between the waves of enemies coming at them.
The mortal Ayato is a capable fighter too, but not made for the abyss. No mortal is, especially not a child like Bennett. Oh, the anger he felt when he saw a child in the abyss.
Oddly enough, the four of them are a very compatible group. The elementary reactions between Bennett, Ganyu and Ayato helped them, as well their ability to support each other.
Xiao takes the position as leader and the one doing the most damage. Thanks to the supporting abilities of his other teammates, his hits and their damage skyrocket, and they finish the abyss much faster. Over time, they learned order, who used his supporting field first, followed by the others, to get the highest damage and the fastest way to get out of the abyss.

Razor stood at the waiting room backstage with Bennett who was starting to get nervous again. The wolf raised child doesn’t really have an idea about what the musical is and why Bennett is dressed in knight-like clothing. “Bennett, you need to sit down. You’ll get tired.” The pyro vision bearer continued walking around with the paper that contains his lines all crumpled in his shaking hands.
What if he trips on the stage? What if he forgets his lines midway the song and what if he makes a complete fool of himself in front of everyone? Everyone knows that he is unlucky and probably the unluckiest person alive in whole Teyvat. He wishes fervently that he won’t embarrass himself in front of their creator who asked him to play the part.
Xingqiu, who is in charge of the stage settings, poked his head at the door. “Bennett it’s your turn.”
The tension on the stage is getting real. As Diluc knows, they are already entering the dramatic parts of the story. He’ll be lying if he doesn’t admit that Razor and Bennett have been in his wing for a while now. Not really under his wing but more on under his watchful eyes to ensure that both boys will be safe. Though both of them can fend themselves well, Diluc can’t help but worry from time to time.
“Philip, take it away!”
Jean took a step aside and a visibly nervous Bennett entered the stage. The poor boy stood there frozen in front of everyone including his adventurers’ guild fathers. Bennett found himself staring at your form sitting with the crowd. He felt as if he messed up already with the stage being quiet for almost a minute now. As his eyes made contact with yours, the world around him suddenly became transparent and mentally he heard a voice saying ‘you can do it!’
And then he is back in the present, in front of everyone on the stage. Diluc gave him a rare soft smile and you gave him a thumbs up. His signature grin slowly formed in his face, his hands warm with determination to make you proud.
“Daddy! Daddy look!” He cheerfully started even though the shakiness from nervous still hasn’t left his voice. The audience started picking up as the boy that they usually avoid sang with fervour, akin to his pyro vision. Diluc’s small smile formed into a smirk, proud as the boy finally found his footing.
“I have a sister but I want a little brother!”
Little Klee made her way out of the waiting room and into the stage. She waved at everyone before smiling and running off. Because Jean is playing a role, no one is there to catch her if she runs off.
“My daddy’s trying to start America’s bank!” He pointed at Diluc as he said that word ‘daddy’. “Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq!” Bennett jumped from his position on the stage unleashing a thumbs up shaped fire mark on the ground before running off excitedly.
“Take a break!” Guess they have to fix the stage after this song.

↳ ❝ [IF I DIE, YOU DIE AFTER ME] ¡! ❞
warnings: Angst, mentions of death and suicide
summary: All you want is for him to continue if the worst case will ever happen. Unfortunately he understood you wrong...or maybe right?
characters: Aether, Albedo, Al-haitham, Ayato, Baizhu, Bennett, Capitano, Childe and Chongyun × Creator!Reader
word count: 1,805
parts: 1.
Tumblr media
Aether
Aether is stunned by your words for a moment; they linger in the air like lingering notes from a lyre, their impact resonating far more deeply in his heart than they did in his hearing. "What... What do you mean?" he replies in a hoarse whisper; his brows knit together, and a flicker of panic flickers across his expression.
"When i die, you better die after me because...I cannot bare to see you go. You should live a good life long after I'm gone and find happiness." you tell him seriously. No way ever, you would be able to live after knowing he ever parished. Aether stares at you with bright, wet eyes as his mind attempts to grapple with your words. His lips part softly as he takes a deep inhale; his heartbeat is pounding in his ears, and he feels dizzy at the very thought of it. "But... But your Grace?" he protests weakly, as if he just can't accept it.
"You can't be gone. I can't live without you." A long moment of silence stretches between you and the Traveler. Aether stares down, his brows furrowed. He doesn't want to say it, doesn't want to entertain the idea, but he finally whispers the words.
"But your Grace... If you're gone, I don't want to live. I wouldn't know what to live for."
"And I wouldn't know what to die for."
Albedo
"That I can't do." he stands his ground, he makes his point clear. He'd always promised that he would be by your side. If you go, so must he. Perhaps he was being dramatic, but he'd rather perish by your side than to witness your death. He'd spent his life wishing to die by your side. The thought of doing so without you would make his heart crumble like the foundations of a ruined nation.
"Albedo wha-" but he interrupted, with the same confidence as before, "If you go, so must I. We're equal, remember? If you die, so will I. Together we will say our last farewells to one another."
"I would die for you, my grace."
Albedo seems adamant about that statement, but the way he delivers it seems to say more. It sounds less of a duty to be fulfilled, but more a blessing to be granted.
It's enough to make him stop and stare. He wants you to live, in truth, above all else. His thoughts of your safety are always paramount; more than his own. If you went down, he would follow, but the way he speaks, the conviction in which he's willing to go. It almost seems as though he'd welcome death himself.
"I would rather die with you, than live without you, my grace."
"Agreed."
Al-haitham
"Of course." He says it instantly without thought. Your word is law. He obeys in the most absolute way possible.
The prospect of losing you shatters his heart into a thousand pieces. He can't even bring himself to think about it, so he focuses intently on your slightest movement. "I could never dream of existing without you by my side," he continues, his voice growing unsteady. His mind is a whirlpool of emotions, thoughts, and memories. Unusual from how you know him. "Al-Haitham..."
The thought of being without you...He just can't.
"I would die for you." A small, hesitant pause. He feels his throat tighten, his breath catching in his throat. "I would...do anything to be with you, join you."
Your heart tightens, he can't mean what he says? He can't mean it, he has so much to lose, and its not you. His job, what he worked for to achieve. All you wanted was for him to continue this. "I would throw away everything for you," he whispers, as if he heard you. The words sound hoarse coming out of his dry lips. His throat feels tight, his chest feels heavy, his head feels hollow.
"Anything I've ever cared about, everything I've ever loved... All of it means nothing compared to being at your side. If you die first, I will die twice."
Ayato
His stomach tightens at the thought. His heart feels like it is about to explode as he considers that reality.
"I would follow you there," he says softly, his voice barely a whisper. "With every part of me, I would follow you."
"No. You know what I meant by my words." He understands your meaning, but he cannot bring himself to say the words outloud.
"I would not be able to bear life without you," he says quietly, his eyes avoiding your gaze. The words escape with an earnestness that he did not intend, and immediately he is struck by the depth of his love for you and his utter devotion to you.
Your words have shaken him. "I love you," he says softly. His voice is little more than a whisper. It feels natural to say. The words slip out from his mouth so effortlessly that they escape him before he can even think to stifle them.
He doesn't question it. He'd say it 100 times over if you needed to hear it.
"My love, I'm sorry. I wish I was what you wanted. I wish I had the bravery to live without you, but I'm a coward. But for now, we shall live till we both die."
Baizhu
"I would never let something so horrific befall you. If anything were to happen to you, I would perish before you. And as you know, I will do everything to prevent death, especially yours."
Baizhu leans forward to gently lay his forhead against yours, a gesture, one filled with warmth.
"You will not die. You will not." Baizhu emphasizes his words, the determination in his eyes unshakeable. "For so long as you remain standing, so will I. Your fate is my fate - there is no other reality than the one in which you live."
"I-I don't want you to-" you hurriedly let out, its almost breaking your heart. "But I would... My desire is to shield you from harm. Any threat comes your way, I would-" Baizhu pauses, seeming to ponder whether to finish his prior sentence. Then, he swallows his pride before speaking again.
"My priority... It is to keep you alive. To make sure you are safe..."
Bennett
Bennett's eyes widen, as if he were shocked by your words. "Y-you're not going to die, my grace," he says softly, but there is something like panic in his voice. "Y-you won't... you can't die, ever..."
The Adventurer reaches out and lightly touches your hand with his fingertips. "Please, do not speak of such things..." Bennett looks up at you, his eyes wide and pleading. "You would... you would leave me alone? What would I ever do without you? Go on adventures alone? Who would I tell all my stories? Who would listen? You're my...— I... I."
And then he looks down, unable to look at you. "If you left, I would die; my purpose is to love. So, please, you..."
He looks up at you in desperation again. "If you leave so soon, I won't ever be ready to finish loving you..."
A breeze gently flows through your hair as Bennett reaches out and strokes your hair. The way his fingers caress your hair, so gently and with such tenderness, makes you wonder if he is afraid of breaking you. "You are my everything. So I will give my all to prevent your death, even if it causes my own."
Capitano
“As you wish, your grace” The words leave Capitano’s mouth almost involuntarily. He stares at you, his eyes glazed over as the thought of never seeing you again flashes through his mind.
He doesn’t care what he must do. Even if the universe is set against him. Even if he must face the Abyss Order or the Tsarita herself alone. You alone are worth his devotion and his existence. The thought is a bittersweet one. He will devote himself to you so wholly that when you pass, he will not live on as he normally would but will rather perish at your side.
He is not a man to love lightly, nor is he a man who will forget your kindness with time.
Capitano will live for you, devote himself to you, and even perish with you without a second thought. You are his entire universe, the center of his world. Nothing exists for him but you. All the other worlds that are his duty no longer matter in comparison.
His will is set on two things, only.
To love you. To die with you.
Childe
Childe's breathing quickens at the idea of your death. He cannot allow it. "No," he breathes. He grasps your hands tight, desperation in every motion.
"You can't die. You are immortal. Eternal. Unbreakable." The words tumble out of his mouth, sounding almost like a prayer with the desperation and pleading in his voice. "Of course I can die silly...so when i do...please live on without me." "No." Childe stares at you, his face hard as a rock.
"I can't."
Childe closes his eyes and grips your hands tighter. He leans forward until his chin presses into your knuckles and his face is inches from yours.
"Don't ask me to do that. I won't let you die."
Childe repeats the words, his voice breaking halfway through the sentence, raw and trembling.  "I can't let you die." He pulls you close, so close that your lips are almost touching, but not quite.
"I'm nothing without you." His voice is a whisper. "My existence depends on you.
"I can't live without you."
Chongyun - aged up
He freezes at the sound of these words, his body trembling uncontrollably. His breathing becomes shallower and shallower, his heart pounding faster and faster, all the color draining from his face. "You... you wouldn't... you couldn't.." he says in a hoarse voice, his head spinning from the sudden, overwhelming wave of dread. He is too close to the thought of losing you, and he fears that it could destroy him. "Please," Chongyun whispers, his eyes imploring you with such a profound desperation, a look that could tear your heart out.
"I cannot lose you. I cannot live a life without you." He reaches for your hands, grasping them tightly in his own. "I would not survive your departure. The very thought leaves me in a living nightmare."
Chongyun is crying. "Please do not make me go on without you. Please do not." He is shaking. Your words have stirred up a whirlwind of emotion. He looks up at you, his eyes pleading, his heart breaking at the thought of a life without you.
"I would follow you until the end, your Grace. Even if it means for my own journey to end."

A/N: Okay I have been playing Genshin for quite some time now, and I'm sure my eyes are hurting like a bitch, but this is a quick idea( and also a short story of a series I'm writing) since I have been reading SAGAU and Creator!Reader works a lot!
Tumblr media
Everyone thought, just like Creator!Reader did who played Genshin for hours and built the characters, that Mondstadt would be home. With the jolly people and freedom coursing through the air, and with Venti being the Spirit of Freedom, everyone would listen at least. You were just as terrrified yet also happy and confused as anyone could be, surely they wouldn't execute you, right?
Wrong, so painfully wrong.
Instead Creator!Reader was hunted down blindlessly, who only entered the city with a big smile but left it as soon as possible with a horrified look.
But instead... Razor and Bennett found the Creator!Reader, shivering in the cold with- Was that golden blood?
Razor, since he was raised by wolves, didn't have an exact understanding of the Creator but he listened to his family talk about Them, how they thanked Them with their howls for the food and family and shelter given to them and how they praised the Golden Blood of yours to keep flowing through your very being so that one day, you would come back to Teyvat.
Therefore he knew who you were but Bennett?
Poor boy grew up with the stories of yours! How you created new worlds where there were many different creatures, magic and every kind of ores... Or how you gifted them with many new weaponary and such, how you gave them life and what they have built so far.
How you let them live in peace through their Archon.
So, to see your body covered in Gold blood with a terrified look, their first reaction was to jump up and warm you immediately, patching up any wounds so that their Creator didn't suffer anymore.
But whatever the people must have done to you, had messed you up pretty bad because you, The Creator of All, whimpered in fear and pain, still shaking with your hands up defensively.
"P-Please don't hurt m-me... I swear I didn't mean t-to..."
So, that was how you were coddled up by these two babies while they wondered with rage coursing through them that who did this to you. They weren't stupid, since they were close to their City, they knew it was them and couldn't help but feel shame for their actions. Everyone had been expecting your arrival for quite some time, preparing feasts and what they would say to you in person and then they just...
Blinded by fake religion and ideas, tried to kill you.
How funny Teyvat was more like Earth than you ever imagined?
And they didn't even want to know what would have happened to Teyvat, how angry the Winds and the ground would be at the people for killing the Divine One.
You were still aprehensive as normal, not used to the kindness they were showing you but watching as Razor bring you a very pretty shaped stone with a happy grin and offered it as a token of friendship, you couldn't bring yourself to break his heart as one of the many wolves in his family laid around you protectively.
You asked why he was doing this, when he had no understanding of who you were, when his people were hunting you, but the only answer you got was a confused tilt of his head and a soft spoken,
"You are my lupical and I want you to be happy... They are not my people, they were wrong."
Now Bennett didn't know if he should correct Razor since he was actually talking to their Creator, warn him about not to refer to you so casually, but the big and wide smile on your face as you hugged them thightly to yourself with tears in your eyes which held the stars warmed them both so affectionately and lovingly that they knew you needed this.
You needed to have friends, not worshippers.
And as they, alongside with the Traveller, Klee, Albedo( who was glad he was pulled here by Klee and help you) and Amber who was convinced of who you were by the wounds you had and how you literally breathed life into one of the many burned and ruined forest and was horrified at learning what the Mondstadt did, healed you back and helped you hide, that was when you realized that you did a good job by loving those four and building them up as much as possible.
But those traits weren't the only ones who convinced them. It was how you saw Amber's ambition and praised her for having such a strong dedication to her job to which she bashfully thanked you and cried softly because how kind and generous you were to them even when your life was in danger.
And you didn't forget to tell Lumine to let others deal with commissions and errands, to give herself a rest, with a huge amount of Mora you really didn't know where you got from but was just inside your pouch ( since I chose her and believe the Twins need to hear this) and also about what was going on with her brother and promised to explain more in depth after you were safe to which she held your hand in her warm and calloused ones softly and answered with don't worry about us, Your Grace. Just focus on your life and that's all the gift that you can give to me.
But as much as they loved to have you here and listen to your world and jokes, they also knew you couldn't stay here for much longer. Yes, the forest was big ( and the nature seemed to be hellbent on protecting you) but they knew the Knights wouldn't stop until they got you.
What a surprise that the Crux came to the City, with a frantic Kazuha searching everywhere in the dock for what the Wind whispered to him.
"Our Creator needs help. Help them. Save them."
And that was how you started to wander the streets of Liyue with Kazuha next to you, also hellbent on protecting you especially after seeing the state you were in. The City was literally glowing, and no it wasn't because of the lanterns but you, The Divine Creator who stepped in the City which was raised and built in your name.
He knew there was a famous pharmacy named Bubu Pharmacy and the owner of it was able to heal pretty much every kind of this disease, so he took you there in hopes that the fever you had been suffering from could be solved there.
And it was.
Baizhu, as the usual self-sacrificing man he was, did everything in his power to help you. You knew how his hands were already full with both his own disease and Qiqi who quickly grew on you since she has been playing with you and telling you all about what she learnt about the herbs and the City( she couldn't explain why but she just felt so close to you, as if you were like a parent to her which her caretaker also shared kind of the same love for you) and you were grateful for what they had done to you, how kind they were.
They had shown you the kindness you expected to have when you first arrived, and it wasn't given by other.
Not the most known ones, but the kindest of them all did.
So, as a token, you touched the hand of Baizhu softly one day while he worked to pack you herbs and medicine you might need, stopping him and asking him why he was doing this when he casually( though his heart was beating hard at having you touch hım so softly) replied with a I'm a doctor and you needed help.
You looked at him for some time, then a smile so bright that it made the doctor take a while to stare at you softly overtook your face and you replied You're so strong for carrying such a burden like your disease but still help people, Baizhu.
That was when his suspicions about who you were was proven, since he never told about his disease to anyone (after realizing the golden wounds and how he seemed healthier in your presence) and he immediately went to kneel but was stopped by your gentle hands on his face, rubbing soft circles under his tired yet wide open in shock eyes, his heart almost giving out when your lips touched his forehead softly and blessed hım with your warmth.
Never bow to me, thank you for all you had done for me... Now, let me pay back.
After healing him back and yet once again running away from Liyue so that you weren't hunted down, making the Crux the enemy to Liyue since they were helping you (not that they cared, they loved being pampered by the True God with love, luck and food), a certain sea monster and the eartqueaks of Liyue almost destroyed the whole City for their disrespect so much so that Zhongli had to come back as Rex Lapis and he wasn't even able to stop it until the Wind carried your soft words to Liyue and Osial and made them stop.
Don't punish and destroy them, they don't deserve it...
-- A similar situation happened back in Mondstadt when Dvalin caused chaos after learning what they had done to Divine Creator, roasting the shit out of Venti for his mistake but also was stopped by your gentle caress even from Miles away, to stop hım from harming them. He gave them their lesson anyways, he only needed to find you to protect you as he left the people of Mondstadt in Terror and fear for what they had done.
The "they" in question was obviously the Crux, Baizhu, Qiqi, Xiangling and Shenhe who showed their love and care for you, who was logical enough to listen to you and see the truth for themselves. Xiangling who made you many delicious food you never ate before, Shenhe who was comforted by you about how she wasn't a cursed child and was loved dearly by everyone and most importantly you as she cried into your chest, who believed in her purpose to fit in with humans even with her tendencies, which you found to be a beautiful part of her...( not me reflecting my Shenhe love here ehe 。◕‿◕。)
Asking "why are you doing this?" had become some kind of a test, like those in fairytales in your world, to see who was kind and sincere and who wasn't.
And you used it in many nations: Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine...
Inazuma was, of course, the WORST so far since Ei was obsessed with Eternity and the Creator, not even listening at all. But even if she didn't, the Kamisato siblings, Kokomi, Gorou, and Thoma believed in you from the very beginning, with many others soon following after them.
Ayaka and Kokomi were the first ones, with Ayaka seeing the sadness in your eyes at how restricted you were, how no one seemed to believe in you and how Inazuma seemed calmer and more happy as soon as you arrived( and how you reassured her to be herself and not live according to what people would say which made her love you and convince her brother to listen, who was glad she did if not... Well, he didn't want to imagine it.) and Kokomi hearing the whispers of the ocean who was the happiest, who cheered for you and didn't stop chanting your name, which lead her to see it for herself and welcome you to Watatsumi Island as the God she worshipped. Who was also praised by you for her smartness and how she worked hard for the Island even if her career plan wasn't this, but was warned to not to overwork which she blushed at and assured Creator!Reader.
Not surprisingly enough, Sumeru was the kindest to you since Nahida knew who you were even before coming to her nation and greeted you herself excitedly, showing you around as her people( Yes, even Tighnari and Al-Haitham who was known to be stern) smiled and offered you a new home.
Fontaine was probably the happiest you had been, after Sumeru, to stay. Furina, as much as she didn't believe in herself, saw right through you and knew who you were, providing you with utmost care and protection ever alonsgide Neuvillette who always hang around you, protected you and even became your friend! Maybe it was the dragon instincts in him, once the closest to you like Zhongli but also one who wasn't blinded like him, as he stayed with you when your fears and nightmares became too much to bear.
Who knew, maybe something more would happen?
And after all the nations realized their mistake, after you defeated Celestia and came to a peace with It, and restored Khaenri'ah who always believed in you from the beginning even years ago, they feared the punishment waiting for them. They didn't want to accept their mistake, blame Celestia for all of it... But they also knew they were blinded by hard and unlogical belief and almost did the most unforgivable sin ever.
They were ready for any punishment from you, even if it included never seeing you again...
But the only answer to their question was a letter written by you, which made them shiver.
The only reason none of the nations who wronged me are not punished severely was because of the names listed below. Shall any harm come to them, your nation would see the true wrath of the Creator.
Thank you to Razor, Bennet, Amber, Klee, Albedo and dear Traveller from Mondstadt.
Thank you to Baizhu, Qiqi, Xiangling, Shenhe, the Crux, Beidou and Kazuha from Liyue
Thank you to Kamisato Ayato and Kamisato Ayaka, Thoma, Gorou, Kokomi from Inazuma.
Thank you to Sumeru, Khaenri'ah, Fontaine and Natlan people for their never ending kindness and belief.
Eternal gratitude and blessings from the Creator, who you helped to gain confidence and power...

Oracle!Reader 1k Special
Masterlist - Part 1 of Main Series
Warning! This is imposter SAGAU yandere Genshin so expect blood and gore in this chapter.
Sunlight streams down as the birds caw and the faint smell of dew bothers your nose. Keeping your eyes closed you try to ignore it as you curl deeper into your spot. The blades of grass-
…Grass?
Your eyes snap open as you sit up frantically. Towering trees and scattered rocks greet your panicked eyes as you stand up quickly. How the hell did you get here?!
A headache begins to form as memories of the night before come to mind. You vaguely recall exiting Genshin Impact after healing at the Anemo Statue of the Seven and walking in Wolvedom. The title screen came up before the doors of Celestia opened and…
That’s it, nothing else could be recalled beyond that.
Looking around you take a step back for a wider view of the area when something is felt below you. Removing your foot and bending down you pick up the slightly trampled bag and examine it.
Nothing seemed wrong with it so there wasn’t any harm in taking it right? It was basically spotless if you ignore the dirty footprint so maybe it came with you? God you had no fucking clue.
With a sigh you sling it on and examine your surroundings a little closer. Something large and blue caught your eyes and you move a little closer to be sure of what you see.
Your breath catches in your throat at the sight of the familiar structure, something you were sure wouldn’t exist on Earth. Emitting a soft blue and hovering in the air was a teleport waypoint.
This must be a dream, a lucid one considering how aware you are. To dream about Genshin out of all the media you’ve consumed is amazing luck. It doesn’t take much thought for you to remember where in Mondstadt this waypoint is.
Lush green grass with sparse shrubs and fallen trees farther away reminds you of the west side. There’s a faint cry of hilichurls even farther to your right is only a little bit worrisome.
There was the weapon domain near there that you recall being the biggest bullshit in history. At least until Dendro was officially released. But either way it basically confirmed that you were near Wolvendom.
And that was pretty close to Dawn Winery where you could travel the short easy path to Mondstadt City. Traveling across Wolvendom would be no problem since it was just a dream.
Turning your heel, you began your trek to the Anemo statue.
Was there a chance that you could run into a wolf? Yeah but as long as you don't get close to Andrius, wasn't that a weird thought, you should be fine.
The lack of pain in your bruised foot and perfectly intact knuckles didn't even cross your mind. The idea of exploring this dream while you could filled your mind like a pleasant haze.
Finches hopped on ledges before flying off as you climbed up. It's not that high due to Mondstadt's easy terrain, it would be much harder if you dreamt of Liyue. Sumeru would have been your personal hell. But it's easy enough to hop down to the darker area of woods.
Trunks lay on the ground with deep scratch marks clear. The high stone slopes that you dared not climb had similar marks to a larger degree.
That was the telltale sign of Andrius lair being nearby. With a cautious glance to the right where the claw marks led, you continued going straight. A beckoning blue beam shined in that direction affirming your choice.
Bushes decorated your path with berries, a rich purple color that caught your eye. Halting for a moment you crouch before it and reach out.
A rubbery small berry was rolled between your fingers as you carefully avoided the spikes. The Wolfhook berry that you farmed often in this area was a small joy you had at seeing it in your eyes.
Without much thought you began to pick multiple Wolfhooks from the bush and drop them into your bag. You stood back up after picking the bush clean and continued walking.
Since going straight to the Archon statue didn't have a path you had to climb through the bushes. Leaves batted your face and you were sure a few were stuck in your hair too.
Not to mention the grass and dirt stains you had gained throughout the hike. Even still, you couldn't stop the beaming smile on your face.
Reality was good and all but you would welcome any form of escapism that you could. To dream of Genshin and becoming a ‘protagonist’ of sorts is the most common form of it.
Well you weren't hoping to defeat dragons, fight hordes of enemies or be the nonverbal emotional support hero for every nation to lug their problems on. That would be no better than reality.
In the midst of your thoughts you mindlessly popped the first Wolfhook berry you picked into your mouth.
Thinking back to the Archon quests you aren't the type of person to just accept bullshit easily. Like the way Ayaka just plainly guilt tripped and played on the travelers sense of justice was just- sweet?
The taste of sweet fruitiness is followed by a bitter aftertaste. In confusion you stop chewing and lick your lips. Hesitantly you swallow the berry and the sensation of something very real sliding down your throat has you taking a sharp breath.
It's real. Everything was real. The leftover bitter juice of the berry clinging to your teeth. Rough bark of the tree that you're leaning on in a whirlwind of emotions.
Even the wolves glaring at you just a couple of feet away are real!
.
.
.
Fuck
Tensing up at the sight of those predators you subtly pat your body. Other than the bag you had no means of defense. Running wasn't an option either, that would simply goad them into chasing you.
Taking a deep breath you keep your body on high alert and eyes on the pack. Visibly there are six but who knows how many are hiding in the shadows?
It would be best to assess how hostile the wolves in front of you are before worrying about any unconfirmed danger. With that thought in mind you stare at the largest wolf that hasn't let its eyes stray from you.
No barring of teeth or pulled back ears. Good starting signs but those could change instantly. It didn't seem happy with your intrusion judging by its restless behavior and thumping of its tail.
The smaller wolves, probably females, didn't seem on guard either. That was the best sign as it meant no pups were around. You would be totally dead if that were the case.
With the chance of being mauled to death lower than you initially thought, you began to take small steps backwards. Whether you were heading in the direction of the Anemo statue or not didn't matter that much anymore.
It's ear twitched at your movements but it made no move to get up. Feeling the slightest bit relieved at that, you shuffle backwards a bit faster.
“Ugh! I fucking hate Mondstadt! Stupid useless hills and these god awful pollen make me sick!”
Freezing at the female voice and the wolf standing up in alert, you cringe at the sight of a purple figure stumbling out of the bushes.
Right between you and the wolf. Maybe you should be happy that if it attacks it'll kill this idiot first.
Before you can bolt away and leave this, probably capable, woman to deal with the mess she stands up sighing in annoyance.
Dusty green hair, a dark mask, and a recognizable bat-like hood made this situation 10x worse. A Cicin Mage just had to intercept the moment you tried to get away.
…Maybe if you run fast enough the wolves and the Cicin Mage could just keep each other busy.
“Oh, oh my Celestia! This-This isn't a dream right?!” The moment she faces you, she falls to her knees. Hands clasp she looks up at you, the mask she wears can't obscure the smile.
“The fuck?” The words slip out of automatically from the sheer bizarreness of the situation. She doesn't even seem to realize the pack of wolves behind her.
“Almighty Creator, I beg of you to forgive me for my insolent words just now. The foul words I spouted should never have irritated your ears.”
Did she literally not hear you curse just moments ago? Actually fuck that, what's more important is how she referred to you.
“Why are you calling me ‘Almighty Creator’ and would you get off the floor?” There's a pause as her smile falters before she stands up.
Was it cool to have an annoying early game enemy kneeling at your feet? Yeah.
Did you want any passerby to misunderstand the situation as you being a Harbinger? Hell no.
“As you wish, your grace. But allow me to ask, is this some sort of test? A testimony to my faith in you?”
Clearly you had two options. Either lie and act the part of the Creator. Or deny it and risk the chance of her attacking you.
Things were still too vague for you to make a decision. Time to stall for time and information.
“I'm not here to answer your questions. Whatever I plan to do is up to me alone. So either answer my questions or scram.”
She's quiet and you want to curse the mask she wears. But you still catch the way her lips twitch downwards before she's smiling wide and bright.
“How silly of you, your grace. Playing dumb and tricking me like this is quite cruel. Don't worry I have something to match your type of jokes.”
Warning bells go off in your head as she takes steps closer towards you. Maybe it was the near mocking tone she used, or the belittling words but the malicious smile she wore was the most off-putting.
You needed to leave.
Taking a step back, your heel turns to sprint away but it was futile. Delusions wielding wild unpredictable elements would always overpower the weak and limited bodies of mortal capacity.
Her lamp glows in time with her teleport to your front. Her gloved one's grasp yours as a Cicin is summoned to her hand.
Trying to yank your hands away only earns a painful jolt of electricity to flow through your hands. Gritting your teeth you resist any shameful urges to show your pain. Using this moment she basically slaps the Cicin into your hands.
Predictably the electro infused bat creature bites your palm forcing you to wretch your body away from the mage.
Holding your now bleeding palm, you bite your lip and cover the wound with your other hand. “Why the fuck did you do that?! I know Cicin Mages aren't the sanest people but for the love of-” Bright scarlett drops roll from your palm and splat onto the grass.
The air seems to shift as her fingers twitch in place. As if hypnotized by your blood she continues to stare at it staining the grass. “Fuck this…” With that last mumble you turn around more than ready to ditch this situation when electro crackles behind you.
Any lingering hesitance was immediately killed and you bolted away from the area. Maniacal laughter follows you as the electro in the air surrounds you like a fog. She was right on your heel, you could sense it.
“Did you think you were slick? Pretending to be our god when you are nothing more than a human? Not even one with elemental powers, what a pitiful existence~”
She teleports in front of you with a lantern in hand that glows as Cicins are summoned to surround her. It’s more than enough time for your fist to connect with her face. Even if your raw strength wasn’t enough, the momentum you had from running gave you whatever strength was needed.
“Fuck off!” The yell is accompanied by her cry of pain as something inevitably gives away under your fist. She staggers backwards and glares at you angrily with tears escaping her mask.
“You rotten imposter! How could anyone, let alone I of all people believe you to be the Creator?!” The Cicins leave her side to chase after you as she twirls in place.
Wolvedom’s environment of hulking trunks, shady areas and raised tree roots were cool in-game but in real life it was nothing more than a pain in the ass. The city is where you felt the most comfortable traversing but you did relatively well in dodging most of the terrain.
Didn’t stop the slight jolts of electro hitting you as the electro cicins were hot on your heels. All you could focus on was the steadily closer beam of blue of the Anemo statue. You would be near Dawn Winery where Diluc, who loathed the Fatui, could deal with this damn Cicin Mage.
But let’s be real, you should have known your luck would run out.
And that’s exactly what happened when you failed to vault over a tree root in time. Curling and rolling on the landing you avoided any severe injuries but the Cicins were too close to not take advantage of the opportunity.
Some continued to shoot electro at you from afar while most took to biting and tearing at your body. Limbs against the agile small bats were useless to swat them away with. It only got you more bites to suffer from.
Humming is heard getting clearer and it only serves to panic your already frazzled mind. With limbs becoming tingly and numb from the electricity, your hands grope the grass around you for something, anything-
Cool metal is felt and your fingers wrap around what you can and swing in a large arc. The long metal weapon works just as intended and flings a good chunk of them away. When your arc ends you can see a few bats stuck on the spikey end of the metal club that twitch and bleed. As if on cue, all the Cicins cower before fleeing.
The Cicin Mage skips over with her lantern glowing and crackling, her lips are pulled into a scowl as she yells at the retreating Cicins. “Get back here! The mist grass hasn’t been completely used up yet! How are you all already leaving?!”
Panting, you try to see past the blood in your vision to gauge how close she is to you. Quickly you use your arm to rub the blood off your face and by the time you pull it off, the mage is already beginning to float.
“You REALLY know how to work me up!” Crazed laughter erupts from her as the lantern glows one last time before shattering in her hands. It’s the catalyst for the electro shield to surround her and a strange symbol above her to begin shooting electricity.
Try as you may, your twitching muscles are slow from the Cicins attacks leaving you slow to get off the ground. She’s just about in reach, you can basically see your death about to play out.
In a flash a gray blur pounces on the Cicin Mage, it’s not hard to make out the pointed ears and furry coat. More wolves emerge from the shadows and follow the first wolf’s lead in attacking. The lightning manages to hit quite a few but with the multiple targets present, it switches too fast for any consistent damage.
“What the-?!” The mage yells in a mix of frustration and confusion. She can only try to float away from the horde in the shield. But the shield flickers and you can see the way her body trembles as the wolves surround her, awaiting for that flimsy shield to break.
And when it does, the bloodbath is horrific.
You’ve seen many people die, usually in painful ways. Thanks to your upbringing and line of work of course. But most of it was done with knives and guns, maybe the occasional poison if stealth was necessary. The sight of sharp teeth digging into screaming flesh was a new experience.
Blood stains the maws of the wolves and flies off to splat on your face. It’s still warm and the feeling of it sticking to your skin is nauseating. Her clothes are ripped as well as her limbs. It’s hard not to gag when you realize that they’re eating her.
The smell of iron gets stronger when all the wolves turn to you. Teeth bared showing strings of flesh clinging to their teeth. You can just barely make out shredded green hair, a half eaten arm and soulless eyes seeping out her mangled head.
Shakily you try and stand up, it’s not the best decision with all the pack staring at you but you could care less about that. Between the realization that everything is real, that you aren’t on Earth, and how you seem to resemble the ‘Creator’.
Nothing seems to make sense and you can only focus on escaping.
A teal symbol appears below the pack of wolves before wind shoots up, throwing the wolves into the air. You stare at the familiar symbol and the relief you feel is immense.
The wolves hit the ground with a whimper before running away. The symbol fades as a figure floats down from far above you.
Venti, the Anemo Archon disguised as his deceased friend, holds the Skyward Harp bow you equipped on him as he floats to the ground in front of you. Cream and teal green colors make up his signature bard outfit as he smiles at you.
Soft nearly girlish features look down at your bloodstained figure as mirth swirls in his teal eyes. With no danger present, the thrum of your heart slows down letting you smile crookedly at him.
“Thank you for the save. I was really about to die there…” Your words trail off at the Anemo infused arrow pointed at your face.
“It’s my pleasure imposter.”
This has to be some sick joke. Once is an incident, twice is a coincidence but did you really want to deny it and risk the third being a pattern? Gulping you stare at Venti’s face, the smile he wears is now lined with something… sinister.
“What do you mean by imposter? I haven’t claimed to be anyone.” A giggle leaves him at your words but the arrow in your face is steady.
“You really are clueless huh? No one is just born with the Creator’s face yet you, a stranger that appeared from nowhere, are.” Frowning you try to make sense of his words. If you visibly looked like this ‘Creator’ then what made the Cicin Mage be sure that you aren’t?
“Just like that Fatui brat, I too believed you to be the Creator. But the more you spoke and the way you acted made me suspicious. I’ll give her some credit for thinking to cut you to see the color of your blood.”
The color? You glance down at your palm, it was bleeding red so was that abnormal for the Creator?
“Then again, if you did bleed gold I would have just immediately killed her for daring to harm our God.” The fuck?! You mean you’re about to die for being born with this face and not bleeding liquid gold?!
“What the fuck man, is it really that serious?” You knew those were the wrong words to say as the arrow comes close enough for you to feel the air whipping around it. His smile disappears and the dark glint in his eyes are more than enough for you to shut up.
“That serious? Oh what a pity it is to exist without knowledge of the Creator. Without even touching how they created every particle of energy, every drop of blood in our bodies and the vast gifts they gifted us I could still lecture you on their divinity. But I’ll keep it short and simple that even you can understand. They help poor outlanders who arrived here to find their sibling and even used that opportunity to take care of the nations they come across. Their touch extends from the most important events to the smallest tasks that even normal people wouldn’t bother with. How could we, how could I, not worship them?”
So this was a cult? It was the only viable explanation as to why both a Fatui member and an Archon like Barbatoes could agree on something. And by extension that means you must be the Creator.
The only one that could ‘control’ the outlander is you as the player. It would explain why you look ‘exactly’ like them, why Venti was wielding the bow you specifically put on him and even why you had appeared in this world with the bag.
But why the hell is there a condition about having gold blood attached to it?
“You seem to fully understand why I’m pointing this arrow at you. Then that means we can end this here and now-”
“Look Venti, I never fucking claimed to be the Creator. And isn’t this lecture hypocritical considering that you’re parading around in the body of your dead friend? I was born with this face, what’s your excuse?”
There’s a full stop with your words hanging out in the open. Like the slightest pressure on a tightrope leaving you to wonder whether you’ll stay balanced or fall off into the air. He blinks at you with a mix of emotions you can’t decipher.
A snort leaves him that evolves into a chuckle before turning into full blown laughter. His head is thrown back as the bow slants down, his laughter doesn’t put you at ease. He finally calms down as you wait patiently on the ground.
Running would be useless against the God of Wind.
“I have to admit, you make a very good point. I suppose the term imposter doesn’t suit you anymore. What is your name? If you have one of course.”
Seems your gamble paid off, Venti wasn’t the type to stay fixated on one rule or another. He’s flexible just like one would expect from the God of Freedom. Whether or not you would risk your name being known as the Creator’s is another risk.
“My name is Y/N.” You can’t offer more personal information than that. The only reason you gave up your name is due to his power to hear through the wind. There’s no telling when you could accidently slip up and have Venti hunt you down due to your lie.
“Well Y/N, it’s your lucky day today! I’ll let you live for succeeding in pointing out my ‘hypocrisy’ as you put it. Mind you, it’s definitely not on the same level. My friend is dead and not the Almighty Creator. But then again you didn’t claim to be the Creator either. In fact, I’m more interested to know how you even came to obtain that information while managing to be oblivious to our God’s presence…”
Well it certainly wasn’t your fault that Genshin fucking hid everything about this. But you needed a way to explain how you know so much while being oblivious to the ‘Creator’.
“I’m just a messenger blessed with visions of their journey.” The words are spoken solemnly but Venti seems intrigued either way.
“My sole purpose is to communicate words and feelings that the traveler couldn’t convey.” Venti frowns at that, and you know it’s not the best set up considering you didn’t even know about the creator a few hours ago. But Venti didn’t give up any super useful information to work with either.
“Oh really? That lets see some proof and maybe then I won’t kill you for claiming to be a servant of the Creator’s.”
“I’m well aware that the Creator hasn’t selected every vision holder to be used by them. Captain Eula for instance hasn’t ever been wielded unlike how often Chief Alchemist Albedo has been. That’s not counting the brief moments on special occasions.”
Venti stays silent at that but his eyes haven’t strayed from you. His dark braids and teal blue tips are gently swayed by the wind as he keeps a firm grip on his bow.
“I recall on more than one occasion how often you would be wielded to group up enemies in combat. Both in the various regions and in the Spiral Abyss in the sea.”
He hums in contemplation at your words. A playful smile graces his face as he leans downwards to ask you. “All this sounds very nice and all but how does this explain your confusion to being mistaken as the creator?”
A pivotal question that decides your fate hangs in the air. There’s no stalling or distractions to help you out. Sheepishly smiling, you stare back at him as a sad tone coats your next words.
“In truth, I’ve never seen the Creator. For a long time I studied those visions as intangible feelings bloomed within me without reason. But one day I was spoken to in the sweetest whisper of how they longed to converse with their people.”
Closing your eyes and clasping your hands, you continued to speak with a wavering voice.
“I offered them myself to be used but I never received an answer. And now I woke up here with no memories of my past outside of the visions. It was only after you spoke about the Creator that I realized my God and your God are one in the same.”
Opening your eyes to smile widely up at the surprised expression on Venti’s face you finished your words.
“I truly am lucky to be blessed with a face so closely resembling the Creator’s. But you shouldn’t mistake me for the Creator. A mere oracle like me pales in comparison to the Creator of All.”
The bow disappears from his hands and he begins to clap. “That would earn you a standing ovation if this was done in front of a crowd!” He laughs but you don’t relax your body, that decision is proven right when his tone lowers dangerously.
“While your story makes sense, I can’t just trust you. Everything can be neatly resolved if I just believe you to be Celestia’s spy and kill you right now.”
An arrow flies past you, grazing your neck before you could even try to move away.
“I’ll stay true to my word and let you live. Feel free to roam my region and claim to be the oracle. I will not stop you but don’t expect me to let you spread false information either.” Your blood is warm as your bloody palm presses on the burning wound in hopes of slowing the bleeding.
“But if I ever hear or find out about you using those blessed features to mimic or claim to be the creator. I will end you.”
The eyes of Barbetos stare you down as wind whips around his body. You could see that it was Barbatoes watching you instead of Venti.
“I’ll hunt you down across the nations and string up your body for the Genesis Cathedral to see.” With those last lingering words, the wind becomes a barrier as a symbol glows on the ground.
You close your eyes instinctively in response to the harsh wind and open them to the sight of a bloody clearing instead.
A weary sigh leaves you before you collapse backwards onto the grass. The sun that shines above you is your only guiding light now that the beacon of blue spelt out pain instead of hope.
The events that you had just gone through make your head spin. Your fingers slid up your face and carefully traced your bloody features.
The Cicin Mage’s bloody mask lays on the ground just a few feet away.
It’s just a temporary measure you tell yourself as you slide the uncomfortable and unfitting mask on. Just until you can find a way to cover your face properly.
------------------------------------
The sight of the Barbatoes statue that glows in your presence is almost nauseating. The blood from that event still sticks to you despite how much you rubbed on it. To your surprise the Statue heals your injuries and leaves you feeling more refreshed than before.
The metal club you hold in your dominant hand seems to weigh less too.
You cast a wary glance towards Dawn Winery before looking at the faint outline of Mondstadt city. There’s no way you could go to Dawn Winery wearing a Fatui mask, Diluc would actually kill you. But could you go to the city wearing this mask in strange bloody clothing either?
Even Springvale seemed like a bad place to travel to in this state.
With a groan you readjust the mask and turn slowly to survey the area. The outline of smoke rising catches your attention. Out of all your options, this was your best bet.
You creeped closer to the smoke's origin and arrived at the edge of a small cliff. Looking down you could see three figures sitting around a campfire. Deciding to lay low for the time being you flatten yourself on the ground with a clear view of the camp.
A purple and black clothed blonde, silver hair poking out of a dark gray hooded figure, and finally a pale haired person that was definitely burning the food. Just those aspects make it clear that you accidentally stumbled on Fischl, Razor and Bennett.
Thoughts of what you went through earlier with Venti come to mind as your finger brushes against the healed skin where Venti left his ‘warning’.
Patiently you watch the trio as they struggle to eat the burnt food. The sun has already begun to set and you think through different plans on how to obtain a change of appearance from the group. The bushes on the opposite side of the camp shake, catching your attention.
From your vantage point, you can clearly make out some treasure hoarders shuffling closer to the camp. Biting your lip, you debate whether to reveal yourself to warn the trio or not. Teal eyes flash in the back of your mind solidifying your choice in not getting involved.
Instead you watch as Razor suddenly stands up and sniffs the air, his greatsword materialized into his hands. Fischl and Bennett stand up in hurry as they look around. Oz, Fischl’s companion manifested by electro is summoned too.
It was pretty entertaining to watch the hoarders freeze in place at the commotion. Razor stalks around the camp on edge as Fischl commands Oz, he obeys by soaring on the border. Bennett to his credit tries to simply sit back down on the lod, more than well aware of his extreme unluckiness.
Except it breaks beneath him making him fall flat onto the ground and get scratched up from the broken pieces. Most likely worried, Razor and Fischl move closer to Bennett as he stands up laughing sheepishly.
Even from far away you can hear his bright sunny voice ring out. “Don’t worry I’m okay!-” The barrel that he uses to help himself up just so happens to be a pyro slime barrel that explodes at the contact.
Cringing you watch Bennett fly through the air and land on the hilichurl structures crushing them. The dust settles and the now exposed treasure hoarders look at FIschl and Razor with that signature ‘deer in headlights’ expression.
The camp goes into chaos to say the least.
The hoarders attack first as Fischl and Razor meet them halfway only using physical attacks. Probably due to the fact that Bennett was on fire and frantically trying to put out the small fire growing around him.
A hoarder slinking in the back of the group raises a vial, the plum colored clothing he wears makes it clear what kind of potion he was about to throw. And just as you were already anticipating, he threw the electro potion in Bennetts direction looking like a direct hit.
A direct hit at the second pyro slime barrel just inches away from Bennett.
The resounding explosion was at least double the previous one as smoke and dust covered the area. You can’t see much as you rub your eyes but there’s a loud thud of something hitting the cooking pot and a follow-up of more smaller scale explosions.
It all calms down as Razor and Fischl cough out the remaining smoke, they’re surprisingly unharmed in the center as Bennett and the hoarders lay passed out. Bennett’s ashy hair is slickened with blood and his mildly charred body catch the duo’s immediate attention.
You can’t help but feel slightly worried at the sight, head trauma was no joke. Perhaps it was your distracted thoughts but you didn’t even realize how close you moved to the edge until ruby red eyes met with yours.
Fischl is shaking Bennett trying to wake him up but you can’t look away from Razor’s red eyes staring into yours.
“Wolf der kleinen worte! Do thou not grasp our ill-fated companions condition?! Quicken thou sloth paced soles and support our misfortunate companion!”
Razor breaks the staring contest to look at Fischl with a pinched expression. “I-I don't know.”
To his credit he does get closer but immediately stops when Fischl or rather Amy yells in frustration.
“Just help me carry Bennett to Springvale!” Razor rushes to Bennetts side and supports most of Bennetts weight. He seems to have completely forgotten about you thankfully.
“Um Mein Fräulein , I believe we have a-'' Oz begins as he returns to the frantic Fischl's side. She's quick to snap at him too. “Silence Oz! Matters unrelated to the wretched and uncouth incident that our companion is suffering from can be properly dealt with at the hour of dark deception.”
You almost feel bad for the crow if he would just stop giving you those damn pointed looks. Just to push his buttons in return, you bring your hand up to wave at him.
His grumpiness at your actions is visible but useless as he's forced to follow Fischl and Razor who rush toward Springvale.
Meticulously you watch their figures get farther and shrouded by the forage before quickly descending from your hiding spot.
Once you land at the now ruined camp, you reach down to the first treasure hoarder and rip off his mask. Discarding the Cicin mask you place the flimsy cloth mask on with a sigh of relief.
The ill fitting and hard mask of the Cicin was not something you wanted to wear longer than needed. Readjusting the thin mask you frown. It seemed this one wasn't much better…
Taking a good long look around you note how the majority of the headers had masks on. The clothes they're wearing are mostly intact and clean too…
Without a shred of guilt or sympathy you stood in the camp wearing new clothes and a reinforced mask covering most of your lower face. Your bag is full of similar clothing, leftover masks, weapons, a meager amount of mora and vials of elemental energy that would no doubt sell for a good amount of mora.
Luck finally shined down on you when one of the treasure hoarders groaned as he sat up. Your blood-stained metal club's spikes glistened in the rising moonlight as you smiled down at him.
“Hey, let's make this quick. Long story short I'm going to need you to answer my questions with every lingering integrity you have or else this club will bludgeon your head like a pinata!”
Whether he knew what a pinata was or not didn't matter. The fear flickering in his eyes only spurred you to grin wider.
---------------
You left Mondstadts gates with slumped shoulders and drained morale. It's been a few days since you woke up in Mondstadt and today you finally had everything set up to live in a different nation.
The perfect layers of a backstory of being an ex treasure hoarder turned adventurer. An oracle to the acolytes who sensed your divinity. So far only Venti has heard about your outlander status.
You intended to keep it that way.
Venti stayed true to his words and never tried to out you in any way. But you just couldn't feel comfortable enough to live in Mondstadt long term, especially with Ventis increasing clinginess.
It was a strange development and he wasn't the only one to display those tendencies but you couldn't keep putting yourself under this stress.
At least in a different nation, you might only have to fear accidentally running into an acolyte. But other than that you would be relatively set for life.
Those encouraging thoughts of the future caused you to stroll with a pep in your step. If you kept up this pace, you'll be passing Dawn Winery before noon.
“Ughh, please…” The hoarse voice of a man is is close by but all you can feel is dread. You don't see him, nor do you look for him. You did NOT want to get caught up in someone else's problem. You had enough of your own to worry about.
That plan is thrown out the window when a weak hand grasps your ankle. Looking down your eyes trail over the pale hand to the bleeding body it belongs to. Yanking yourself out of the deathly tight grip you stare warily at the man.
“Please, your grace, I need your help. I need your mercy…” That title made your heart skip a beat as you glared down at the man.
Did he know? How could he when you sewed so many of their shitty masks to make the durable one you wear now?
Red and pink froth bubbles out of his mouth as he coughs pathetically. His whole body is pale and thin, very unlike the first and only set of treasure hoarders you saw when you first transmigrated.
“I beg of you, show me mercy!” Grimacing at his wails you look around to make sure no one is around. When you look back down at him, you can finally see the injuries he wore.
A long gash down his chest, deep and maggot infested to boot. Legs mangled and oozing something that smells like death itself. Then there's his face, if you can even call it that, burned to hell and back.
With no eyelids, you stare back into his glazed ones as he mumbles endlessly. All you can hear him mutter is pleading for mercy and death.
Seems like he can't actually see you, but would Venti take it the same way? Gritting your teeth you try to move around the dying man when his eyes latch onto your clothes.
“Ha…HAHA!” He laughs hysterically letting his chewed tongue hang out. Repulsed, you stop and glare down at him in confusion.
“Running is useless for us! HAHAHA- THE COLD ALWAYS COMES WITH THE WIND!” Without any warning his laughs become sobs as his hands grope the grass. “They were right! We should have listened to them… Treasure Hoarders like us can't survive in Mondstadt…”
“Ex-treasure hoarder.” You correct automatically more then used to doing so in the city.
Shaking your head with a groan you turn around. Why were you still here with this soon to be corpse?! You had other places to be and better things to do then get caught due to this guy.
Danger. Your body feels an immense sense of danger that has you throwing yourself to the side in an instant. A wave of cold breezes past you at the same time causing frost to grow on the side of your torso.
Seems you were right about Teyvat sending you some sort of signals in these situations. But the way your head hit the ground sent your mind into a haze.
Teyvat sends another warning but the dizziness hasn't subsided enough for you to even move. It would have been useless anyway as the next elemental attack is too broad for you to dodge. Hydro washes over your body before a lighter Cryo attack mixes in.
Now frozen in place attached to the ground, you can't even see who even attacked you. Hands pry you off the ground and flip you over.
Colors and shapes wooz together until the only thing your sight can process is two things. A cryo vision and hydro vision glow before a bag is thrown over your head effectively blocking your vision.
Panic and fear hit you like a ton of bricks at the realization as you're lifted into the air. Flailing your body as much as you can frozen you angrily yell even with the slurring.
“Put me dwown! Lwet me gwo!”
The kidnappers ignore your screams and curses as they leave the area. Judging by the crack you heard, you're sure the treasure hoarder was already put out of his misery.
--------------------------
You're not sure how long it's been since you've been kidnapped. The cryo that drips off your body has mostly melted away now replaced by rope but you've long lost the energy needed to get away.
After being kidnapped by those two vision holders, Kaeya, Rosaria, Barbara, Mona, Mika so many possibilities since they can just travel(this will be in different font), you were handed off to other people. They must have handed you off at least 4 times and any sense of where the fuck you are has been lost.
But the sounds of nature and the faint smell of grass have dropped off. Now replaced by the sound of your captors boots hitting stone pavement. A building, an underground one considering the lack of sunlight and faint color of flames that you pass by.
The bag over your head was annoying but relatively useless if they wanted to keep you completely blind. The only thing you truly lamented is your bound hands. If they were free you could bring up the screen and blindly teleport to the few waypoints you unlocked.
And even if that didn't work, you could just use one of the characters to fight through all the enemies before making your escape-
Your thoughts are cut off by the creaking of a door being swung open. Abruptly you're pushed down into a chair and more ropes are bound tying you to the chair.
When the bag is torn off you're mildly surprised by the completely white room. The only pop of color you could see is the blurry things behind the people in front of you.
Eyes struggling to focus after being cut off for so long you squint at them in front of you.
“You must be the latest person to join our reform program. How lucky you are!”
Something about that happy go lucky tone made your stomach churn. It was eerily reminiscent of when Venti went on that spiel about the ‘Creator’.
Clarity is regained and you frown suspiciously at the two people in front of you.
The man on the left stands in pure white clothing with a black suit underneath that barely pokes out. A cassock if you remember correctly. His short blonde hair and facial features are somewhat familiar.
The woman on the right matches his perfect posture with the same outfit. Again her brown hair in that braid laying over her shoulder gives you an even stronger sense of recognition.
But the smiles they wear are identical and eerie in the most utopian way you can imagine. Adding in their earlier words about being part of the ‘reform’ program makes it clear that this is some cultish shit.
“Extremely lucky considering that they get to witness first hand how we, who were once in their position, are going to help them reform first hand!”
…If that wasn't ominous then you didn't know what was.
Simultaneously they speak with wide smiles and eyes gleaming in a way you can't trust.
“Welcome sinner to the Genesis Cathedral.”
Maybe that alone wouldn't be too big of a deal. Escaping from the depths of a cult was hard but you had powers from being the Creator.
It was the gold weapons faintly stained with blood in the background that sent chills down your spine.
Guess who forgot to post it last night? Sorry everyone but I do hope you enjoy this admittedly long special. It was a lot of fun to write! [Guess who had to spend an extra 10 minutes fixing shit when Tumblr forced me to exit without saving it?] My characterization of Venti is quite different then how most of the SAGAU fics have him (that I read). Mostly cause I feel everyone only sees the SAGAU and his God of Freedom is lost in the mix. It's not super bad but it does feel like a shame. I was enjoying making the camp go to hell with Bennett as his unluckiness is a easy plot device lol. But he is one of my fav characters so no surprise there. The next chapter and onwards will be for the main series as again this was just a 'what if' au. Again this was fun and a nice change of pace but at the end of the day- I have a whole document draft detailing the general events (and certain twists) of the main plot. Thank you all for the support, likes, reblogs (yes I read your tags <3), and comments! Taglist is always open for more, it's kinda like growing a conga line if I had to make a comparison lol
Taglist: If your username is in italics, that means I couldn't tag you! It's going to be in this format from now on since Tumblr has a text limit per paragraph.

sagau where your characters can use teleport waypoints even when you’re offline.
lynette teleporting away when she can tell someone’s about to try to talk to her. sometimes she teleports underwater, where she occasionally runs into freminet, who is very glad the waypoints allow him to access the depths without having to worry about encountering anyone on the walk over.
bennett, prone to finding himself in bad situations, often tries to avoid danger by teleporting away. unfortunately, his bad luck usually causes him to jump to the wrong waypoint, leaving him confused as to why he’s suddenly in inazuma.
although there aren’t any waypoints in snezhnaya, childe is still glad to have the ability to teleport closer to home after his work is done - the time saved traveling could be spent with his family, after all.
barbara doesn’t use the actual waypoints too much - what she does teleport to is monstadt’s statues of the seven, which she makes a point to keep clean (or at least as clean as a statue in the wilderness can be). luckily, her hydro vision makes quick work of it, although she does still get a little spooked in stormterror’s lair; luckily, she can usually convince jean to accompany her.

— To Bennett.
I see that you've been trying a lot to hide your emotions lately, as your explorations like always...don't go as planned. I know it's frustrating, I can see that you're trying your best to not give up, I admire your determination.
But, don't forget that bottling up your feelings is not the best way out for everything. It's okay to feel sad, to feel depressed. It's one of the things that makes you human.
I can't physically be by your side by now, I can't help you with your bad luck...But you can cry all you want. I'll make sure to watch over you in my own ways.
I have a gift for you, I hope you like it.
The letter has with it a handmade silver bracelet with little red jewels on it's intricate design, it looks resistant and not so easy to take off the moment you put on your wrist. A perfect fit for an adventure like him, there is also a little chibi drawing of the woman who wrote the letter, she's smiling.
bennett picks his way through the whispering woods carefully, making sure he doesn’t trip on anything. his expedition went horrible, if you could even call it that, and the last thing he needs is any dirt on his wounds. he’s already wrapped them—somebody as unlucky as him always keeps bandages on hand—but knowing his luck, they’d probably get dirty anyway.
his arms ache and his legs are sore, but he continues to trudge on, kicking aside a rock to fry and silently vent off some of his anger. unfortunately, he slips on some mud just beneath it, the scrapes on his hands stinging as he catches himself on a tree.
his eyes blur, the light from nearby lampgrass twisting and warping, but he wipes away his tears. now isn’t the time, not when it’s getting so late and he’s still not back at the city. the last thing he needs is to worry his dads…
except when he looks up, there’s still a bright spot in his vision. he worries, for a brief moment, that he’s somehow injured himself horribly, but when he lifts a hand to bat at it on instinct, he hits something.
the small star falls apart as he watches, dropping a letter, folded in thirds. when he opens it, a silver bracelet waits inside, shimmering stones inlaid on its surface. it’s hard to see with the dim lighting, so he looks around before sitting besides some lamp grass, slipping the bracelet on his wrist as he reads.
oh. you’ve… seen him.
he’s a bit embarrassed as he thinks over all the times frustration has caught up to him—at his luck, at the situations he finds himself in, at himself—and bleeds out through his eyes, all the times he’s forced himself onward because that was what all the good adventurers did, and maybe if he was like them some of his luck would dissipate. at the very least, maybe stop affecting those around him.
but you…
he clutched the letter tightly, eyes locked on the little sketch on the bottom of who he could only assume was you, giving him an encouraging smile.
maybe you couldn’t be with him. not yet. but he would always have you at his side.

How'd This Happen?! Pt.2
Holy- I wasn't expecting everyone to like this; But thanks for the support! Please enjoy this part two of the story!
Tumblr media
You stared at the now knocked out Razor. You maybe shouldn't have used a mix of Geo and Electro to knock him out... Now you felt bad, Razor wasn't one of your mains, but you did max out friendship with him. Wait a damn minute... What if this is like that one idea you read on Tumbler?! Where the higher Friendship the character had a better chance of recognizing you! That would give you at least one or two safe people per Nation!!
You're getting off track.. You shake your head and walk over to Razor, and sniff him, you couldn't rely on your human form since, one you didn't have clothes, and two you didn't want to mess up anything; After all... You liked being free and chaotic.
You huff and headbutted Razor, as hard as you could do. It didn't wake him up, but it left a bruise on him. You nudged him, to no avail.
Now how were you gonna fix this... Razor most likely had someone with him, and if they find Razor they'll find you; A black cat with a moon marking on your head, braided fur, blue, silver, and gold paint on you, and a Hilichurl mask on your side...
(The mask wouldn't work on your face, you couldn't see through it, and it was still too big even after the Hilichurls made it so small.)
Yea, this could risk you, but. What's gonna happen? You were starting to get bored now... So a chase would be fun... But you rather not, what if they realized you were the real deal? You didn't want to stay still. But you were starting to dislike the False on the throne.
Actually, you kinda wanted to punch her in the face now... But you'll let them rule for longer. You needed to wake up Razor or move him somewhere. Maybe Cyro would wake him up...
You take a deep breath and gently nuzzle Razor's neck, the boy in question still doesn't wake up. Now, you felt pretty bad about that... Maybe you shouldn't use two elements to knock someone out- A noise behind you, sounding like a person made you panic.
Without thinking, you swirl around and bite someone's leg, Electro bursts once you make contact and the person hits the ground... You let go and freeze... You knocked out Bennett...
Damn it..
Tumblr media
You felt bad now... You dragged them into the forest mainly because you didn't want anyone to see them passed out, nor did you like the idea of leaving the to the Hilichurls... So, they were tied to a tree(with a lot of vines), but they're awake, and not every happy... Bennett's eyes fell onto you, "Erm.. H- hey there... Can you help us?"
Holy shit!! He talked to a cat?
You snorted, turning and walking off. "Hey!" "S- Stupid Weird Smelling Cat!"
After a few minutes, you found where you wanted to go.. But you hoped this wouldn't be a game of Dog and Cat... You found a clearing which hopefully was- HOLY SHIT HE'S A TITAN!!
You stared at the huge Blizzard God- Wait, can you still call Andrius a Blizzard god?
You tilt your head and look at him as he speaks, "What's a tiny cat doing here, where you could be hurt?" He had a teasing tone to it... You were confused, but shapeshifted into a wolf to properly speak to him.
"Sup?" You basically greet him, like he wasn't the literal Wolf of the North, the man who embodied wolves. He seemed amused with your antics.
"Soo... Why aren't you shocked?" You asked him, both confused and happy to speak to someone.
Andrius hums, "As a creature of Teyvat, I am connected to the land... I can realize when the Creator stands before me." You tried processing that but gave up. "So... Can you just help me with something real quick...? I can't turn into my human form right now and I need a bit of help..." You ask, somewhat nervously.
Thirty minutes later, you had brought the giant wolf to where Bennett and Razor are. Both looked horrified at the fact that you a tiny cat, summoned one of the Four Winds... You loved it.
Andrius helped you with getting the vines off of the two explorers. Though while they were shocked, you took the chance to leave after thanking Andrius.
You had no regrets... But now you wanted to meet the other Four Winds...

For the divine presents event, a matching heart bracelet, like this for Bennett. (Look at image.) Bennett gets the last one, as I see Bennett like a sibling. (Platonic of course.) I hope you like my writing btw, I don't write often as I can only really write dialogue but I try my best, i hope you like this! (Writing is below the image.)
Tumblr media
Vivien: "I know this may be a little sudden and outta nowhere, but I got you a gift Bennett. Allow me to explain the gift. So as you can see on my arm I have a bracelet with 5 hearts on it, with the 3rd heart being colored in. This is because I am the third sibling that was added to my family. That being said, I want to give you this."
Vivien hands Bennett a bracelet with 5 hearts, the last heart being colored in.
Vivien: "I see you as a brother, Bennett. The best brother anyone could have, really. We're not blood related sure, but I still can't help but think of you like a brother. I hope you like this gift."
Vivien smiles as they put the bracelet on Bennett's arm, with permission to do so of course, as they don't know whether or not Bennett is touch adverse, or in proper terms, has Haphephobia. It fits perfectly. It's not too loose, but also not tight. Vivien waits for Bennett's response.
A Heart Bracelet for Bennett
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Thank you so much!" Bennett became teary-eyed, sniffling slightly.
"I think you're the best older sibling anyone could ask for!"
Bennett hugged You around Your middle. "I promise to be the best younger brother ever!"

Say My Name Part Two
Part one
THANK YOU FOR ALMOST 3K FOLLOWERS since so many people liked Say My Name part one, I hope this is an adequate Part Two and that everyone will enjoy it! Thank you for making my life brighter, without such a nice community I don't think I'd be able to handle everyday. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I hope this will convey just how much all of you mean to me
Warnings: Cult-ish behaviors (not directed towards reader) fluff!!!!!
Characters: Venti, Bennett, Fischl, Oz, Noelle
Words: 8.2k
"It's the second time the both of us have broken into a church before, so we should be good." You muttered to Venti.
"You've broken into a-" He was cut off as you slapped your hand over his mouth, pulling him into your chest.
The two of you stopped breathing as footsteps resounded in the empty church, Barbara finally leaving with a yawn. She sent a longing look to the shrine, her blue eyes swimming with emotions that could swallow you deep into the sea.
You pursed your lips, unconsciously holding onto Venti tighter. Yet another affirmation that you did not want to get labeled as a god.
The large doors shut with a boom. Even still you and Venti remained still as statues, shallow breaths and rapid heart beats the only sign of life in the church,
After about a minute of sitting there in baited breath, Venti wiggled out of your grip. He did a once over of the church before gliding down from your spot perched on the rafters.
"Vent-!" You nearly shouted but cut yourself off, "Dumbass bard." You whispered under your breath, but you couldn't help the affectionate smile tugging at your lips.
Venti looked back up at you innocently, and then the smile was wiped off his face as he realized the same thing you had. You’re stuck.
It came back as soon as it disappeared though, a soft giggle escaping his throat. He held out his arms, "Jump." He mouthed.
"What? No." You whisper yelled back.
He pouted, "Trust me! I'll catch you!" He whisper screamed right back up at you.
"Nah man you're tripping ain't no way I'm trusting those skinny ass arms to catch me." You dangled your feet down, glaring down at the bard with his outrageous plan.
Venti huffed, "(Y/n), I'm the god of wind I'll catch you. Fall before I push you."
"If you push me so help me god-" You pulled your feet back up onto the rafter with you, but a soft gush of wind off put your balance and you fell backwards right off the rafter.
You swallowed the scream that tempted to tear through your throat, the only thought going through your head was that you were gonna beat that damn bard.
"See?" Venti huffed as you gently fell into his arms, "I caught you." He giggled charmingly.
You crossed your arms, unimpressed, "Your arms are shaking-"
He dropped you without a moment’s hesitation and sighed, “Ah, you’re right, that feels better.”
It took everything in you to not shout at him, but the glare you gave him was enough to kill.
He opted to look away from you, "Come on," He whispered, giggling nervously, scurrying away from you.
Sadly, you couldn't be mad at him forever, a lighthearted grin lighting up your face as you went after him. He was a charming bard after all, even if he was annoying.
When you caught up to him, your jaw hit the floor. In front of the two of you was a mound of expensive items and luxurious food.
“There’s so much…” You whispered in awe.
Venti nodded, “All for our god. The all-powerful and gracious (Y/n).” He smiled wistfully. It sent an unpleasant chill down your spine at how rehearsed he sounded.
"Eating this would be a bad idea," you changed the topic, pointing at a sweet dish on the offering table.
"It would be," Venti agreed, eyeing your wandering hand, "So don't do it."
You put your hand back at your side with a pout, your eyes drifting over to the other items (that weren't edible).
It was all quite extravagant and unnerving. They dedicated so much to this god of theirs even though they were never present. Or… perhaps you should be saying: since you were never present…though you had no wish to be bestowed with the title of god.
If… if they worshiped them (you) like this… how would they react when they realized you are this god they so love?
You were snapped out of your spiraling thoughts by Venti tugging on your sleeve.
He presented a bouquet of flowers to you with a sly smile, "For you, my liege."
You blinked at the pretty bouquet with many different types of flowers before a wide smile broke out across your face, "Thank you, Venti." You grabbed it gently, gently touching the petals, "There's flowers from different nations here… they traveled a long way for this bouquet…"
Admittedly, the thought frightened you. Despite the gift being fairly simple, it must've taken forever to put together for a regular person. To collect flowers from many nations just for you. Despite yourself, a frown tugged on your lips.
Venti noticed your frown, his own smile dying down because of it. "The Church of Favonius is probably the most prolific church, and are known to be the most devout to y- the god."
Your brows drew together and you softly sighed, "I can't stay in Mondstadt then," You muttered.
Venti's eyes widened, "What-" He nearly shouted, "Why?"
Your eyelids fluttered in surprise, a small gasp exiting your throat at his sudden outburst, "…because they're so obsessed with the god." You pursed your lips, you voice dropping even lower, leaning closer to Venti, "If they find out about me everything I'm wanting to avoid will become my constant reality." Fear flickered in your eyes, "There will be nowhere for me to escape."
Venti's blood ran cold at how scared you were, your eyes widened like a frightened deer's at the mere thought of someone knowing about your godhood.
So, despite Venti's objections, he nodded, his eyes downcast, "I understand." He couldn't say more.
You smiled softly, "Thank you Venti." You patted his head and he broke out of his somber mood just as quickly as it had come.
"Come on," Venti grabbed your hand on his head, "We came here to take stuff that's rightfully yours." His voice was dripping with sarcasm, showing that he didn't think the statement was true.
Your heart fluttered unnaturally at his playful grin. You beamed bright enough to alert the whole of Mondstadt you were here, holding his hand tighter.
He didn't see you as a god, and that was the greatest thing in this church. *~
That night the two of you ran away to Windrise, the wind cradling your hair, and your hands cradling each other. You and Venti giggling with armfuls of stolen goods and collapsing under Vanessa's grand tree. Crystalflies fluttering out of the way of your excited forms, and the grass cradling your bodies.
Venti opened up his coat, dumping all of the trinkets the two of you had stolen onto the grass in front of the both of you and you did the same.
"Time to review these!" You clapped your hands together, grinning damn near evilly at your conquest.
Well, not really a conquest, if you thought about it technically.
Venti immediately picked up an instrument, he had been the one to pick it up in the church but hadn't been able to try and play it. His eyes were wide with wonder as he gently held what you recognized to be an ocarina.
He inspected it, and almost as though it was second nature, held it up to his lips and blew.
Unsurprisingly, a pleasant note rang out in the cold night air. The wind settled to let the note ring out without disturbance.
Venti pulled away and looked at you with an excited smile.
"Venti…" You pursed your lips and furrowed your brow in concern.
He frowned like a kicked puppy, "What?" He whined, as though he were about to cry.
You sighed, "You got onto me for wanting to try some of the food… but you didn't clean off the mouthpiece…"
Venti blinked in realization, you could barely see it in the moonlight but a tiny embarrassed blush dusted his cheeks.
"Oops…" He chuckled, using his sleeve to unprofessionally wipe the mouthpiece of germs he probably already had.
You didn't mention it though, you had no room to talk. You had actually snuck a bite of some particularly sweet smelling deserts while he wasn't looking. Though he didn't need to know that.
He continued messing with the ocarina, though he didn't play any more notes.
"We're very suspicious looking with all of this stuff," He reasoned, "Don't want anyone to find us."
You nodded and continued looking through the pile. It was fairly small, most of the offerings were food. However there were some interesting things of note that you and Venti had taken.
The ocarina - which Venti had silently claimed as his own- a fluffy coat, a wooden toy (a puzzle from what you could gather with something jingling around inside), some books, the flower bouquet Venti had presented you, some expensive looking earrings, a burnt and worn down weapon (no longer sharp and poses no threat to anyone), and finally…
You picked up the item, "This is… this is from those things in the chasm."
You inspected the item, carefully tracing over it with your fingers. You gently touched the spot where an eye was missing, your brows furrowed in confusion as to why this was left at a shrine for the god.
Venti leaned over to look at it with you, color draining from his face, his mouth clamped tightly shut. His green eyes colliding with the singular red eye on the statuette.
"Perhaps…" Venti's voice was clammy, "We should've left that at the church."
You hummed, "I think it was wrapped up in the coat or something. We were too high on the adrenaline rush to notice I guess." You shrugged, "It's fine, it's just a statuette." You carelessly set it down, though you did give it some distance from Venti. Poor thing looked like he'd seen a ghost.
Venti hummed, tearing his gaze away from the statuette.
You tilted your head, placing a careful hand on his shoulder, "Hey, you okay? I can put it somewhere else if you don't wanna see it?"
Venti looked at you with wide doe eyes, and you could've sworn they looked a bit glassy. Nonetheless he shook his head, his usual bright smile lighting up the night, "No, I'll be fine."
His smile was contagious and despite the anxious feeling in your stomach, you smiled back at him and let it be.
Venti picked up the wooden puzzle while you inspected the books. He shook the puzzle around, listening for what might be inside. Meanwhile you opened up the first book on the pile.
… You understood none of it.
You pouted, "Venti, do you know what this is? I can't read it."
Venti blinked, puzzled, "You can't read it?" He scooted closer to look at the text.
You shook your head.
Venti frowned and set the puzzle aside, grabbing the book to look at the cover.
A grin broke out on his face, a small chuckle passing his lips, "This is: New Chronicles of the Six Kitsune. Published by Yae Publishing House." He tilted his head with a curious grin, "Wonder how it got all the way here. The Sakoku Decree was only just lifted."
You snorted in laughter, "Perhaps the Yae Publishing House are doubling down on marketing now that the borders have opened up. Wouldn't surprise me with the sly kitsune running the place."
"You know the Guuji of the Narukami shrine?" Venti tilted his head, "Or perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised." He flipped through the pages with a sly grin, his eyes gleaming in mischief, "Would you like me to read this to you as a bedtime story?"
You scoffed, playfully pushing his head away, "Yeah right, 'in your dreams'." You mocked said Guuji of the shrine.
Sadly, the joke flew right over Venti's head.
He pouted sadly, shutting the book with a sigh, "If you insist. What are the other two books?" He inquired, picking them up after setting the other book down.
You looked over his shoulder, able to recognize one of the covers but not the other.
"Flowers for Princess Fischl," Venti said with a grin matching your own, "And…" His grin fell. He hummed, "Toki Alley Tales… never heard of that one before."
"Toki Alley Tales?" You echoed, gently grabbing the book from his hand.
"Yeah, have you heard of it before?" Venti asked, watching as you gently opened it up.
Your eyes fluttered in surprise.
"That's… odd…" Your brows furrowed.
"What is?" Venti questioned, glancing at the words in the book, "Oh…"
"This is my mother tongue." You flipped through the pages. They were all there, "And the pages of Toki Alley Tales are scattered all throughout Inazuma. There's no way they'd be in this pristine of condition…" You trailed off.
"So…" Venti sat by your side, looking over your shoulder at the words he couldn't understand, "Someone translated the entire book of Toki Alley Tales… for you?"
"I…" You swallowed the lump in your throat, "No way. No one in Teyvat knows my native language… right?" You turned to look at him, confusion and a twinge of fear in your orbs.
Venti frowned, "I… don't know… I don't recognize this and it's not one of the major languages of Teyvat. I don't know anyone that would know this… except… maybe…"
"Except?" You urged him to continue.
"Well…" Venti looked away in thought, "Maybe the traveler… since they're from another world."
You paused, turning the thought over in your head. "That… that would make sense." You put your hand up to your mouth, staring at the pages you understood with perfect clarity, "They're the only one that would have access to the pages we collected."
"Wait so," Venti tore his gaze away from the puzzling pages to look at you, "Does this mean that the Traveler knows you're here?"
You paused, the thought striking you hard. Before you shook your head, "No… no probably not. They translated the whole thing in less than a day and- and how would they even know I'm here?"
Venti frowned, "True I guess, though there's not really any other explanation."
You roughly sighed, shutting the book and setting it aside, "My brain's starting to hurt. Why must Teyvat be so complicated."
Venti giggled, "That's what I've been saying for the past millennium…" He sighed, "And everyone wonders why I'm such a drunkard." He yawned, his momentary somberness disappearing like the wind, "It's too late for this. I'm going to bed. You should too, (Y/n)."
You hummed, standing up and stretching.
"Oh! Hey! We could use this coat as a blanket!" You exclaimed, picking up the large and fluffy fabric, "It's as big as one anyways."
"We?" Venti echoed.
You nodded, "If you're okay with sharing that is."
Venti grinned, his embarrassment only lasting a moment, "Of course! Can't let you have it all to yourself! Although…" Venti placed his hands on his hips, staring down at the pile the two of you had created, "Where are we gonna put all this?"
"Uh…" You stared down at it blankly, the fluffy coat bundled in your arms "Good question…"
The two of you ended up hiding the items at the beach nearby. Far enough so if someone were to find them they wouldn't immediately attribute it to you two, but close enough to keep an eye on.
Meanwhile, the two of you slept up in the tree of Windrise. It was comfortable, you and Venti had ended up tangled in each other's arms with a large fluffy coat shielding the two of you from the cold air. Despite not having an actual bed, it was possibly some of the best sleep you'd ever gotten.
*~
That morning, though, was not so great. The two of you went to go check on the stuff you had stolen taken as soon as you had woken up… only to find it all gone.
"What!" You shouted, searching the beach up and down, "Who- who-" You covered your face with the fluffy coat and screamed into it.
Venti was not much better, his and your form covered in sand, your faces red hot from the sun and anger.
Venti huffed, "Let's just go back." He sighed dejectedly, crossing his arms, "Some of those items were so cool!"
"They took the ocarina and the puzzle you were messing with…" You gasped, "They took the Toki Alley Tales! Shit!" You cursed, clenching your fists, "Who did this?"
Venti pursed his lips, "I'd assume treasure hoarders, they're always looking for something that's not theirs to take." He paused, "Though I suppose we have no room to talk."
You sighed roughly, "I don't really care about most of the items, but the Toki Alley Tales is important. Only the Traveler has a copy of it, I don't want it to land in the wrong hands." You buried your head in your hands, "This was a stupid idea."
Venti frowned, and was silent for a moment, "I won't deny the fact that it wasn't the best idea, and I certainly didn't help." He sighed, "That's my own fault. Despite everything you had said when you…" His eyes met yours, overflowing with centuries of built up emotion kept well hidden, "When I saw you… I could see no one but Teyvat's god and the one who had treated me so well. So I followed blindly in your irrational decisions and I apologize for letting things get out of hand.” He didn’t meet your eyes, his arms crossed uncomfortably, “Sorry this has been bothering me all night I just didn’t wanna talk about it… but it seems I have to.” He sighed, “You need to choose. Right now.”
You lifted your head to look at him, "What do you mean?"
"Things have gone too far.” He still didn’t meet your eyes despite yours desperatly seeking the emotions in his, “You wanted to steal things from the church because you were in a state of shock and you said that the things belonged to you so it'd be fine if you took them. Yet you don't want to be god." Venti frowned, "Right now, you need to decide: are you Teyvat's god or not? That way nothing will ever get this out of hand again, and I can treat you the way you want to.”
The question escaped your lips without a moment's hesitation, "I'm not."
Venti smiled and patted your shoulder, "Thought you'd say that. Again, I’m sorry for allowing your heightened state last night to fester and cause us all this trouble.” He grinned mischievously, “But since you said that, we didn't take the items, because they don't belong to you.Someone else must've taken them from the church. We'll go back to Mondstadt and pretend we know about nothing once we get there, and then we'll do nothing like this again. Okay?”
You slowly nodded, the full weight of his words hitting you. You sucked in a breath to keep the emotions in, "Okay. But what do we do about the coat?" You gestured over to where you had set it in a tree, your hands clammy despite his cheerful expression.
Venti hummed, his hand on his chin, "Hm, we could throw it somewhere, say whoever took it must've dropped it."
You nodded, taking the fluffy coat. You gently pressed your face against it one last time, "Goodbye fluffy coat, you were very comfy."
Despite the ache in your heart, you bundled the coat into as tight of a ball as you could and flung it. You weren't sure where it landed, you turned around and pretended you never knew the coat.
Venti grabbed your arm and whisked you away, though it wasn't as fantastical as you'd thought. He jerked you by your arm, wind hit your face at alarming speeds, and then all at once it disappeared leaving you a rugged mess.
You caught your breath, pulling your arm out of his to straighten your clothes and hair. Once you were done cleaning yourself up, you looked around.
You were at the gate that led to Mondstadt, and you noticed on the bridge a very familiar figure. You couldn't help the grin sneaking onto your face.
"Oh dear." Venti put his hands on his hips, frowningly worriedly, "Why are you grinning like that?"
"I'm on my villain arc, Venti."
"Your what?" He blinked dumbfounded.
You didn't answer, only grabbed his hand and sprinted right onto the bridge. And right onto Timmie's birds.
"Hey!" You heard the little boy yell after you two.
"Sorry!" You giggled, running right through the gates of Mondstadt.
The guards let out amused sighs, "Looks like there's another troublemaker in Mondstadt." Lawrence mused, looking after you two.
Meanwhile you had stopped dead in your tracks only a few steps into Mondstadt's gates.
"Hey," Venti squeezed your hand that he was still holding, "You okay?"
You couldn't tear your eyes away from them, but you were glowing with excitement, "Look, it's-"
"Hark! Tis on this sunny day I and my retinue graciously descend from the great palace. Thundering retribution shall befall all those that dare to besmirch this great land! Katheryne! A dear friend of the Immernachtreich, pray tell, what troubles thou's great land."
"Hey Katheryne, what's the commission for today?" Bennett and Katheryne fist bumped, the latter retaining her usual friendly smile.
"Great to see you Prinzessin and Bennett, we have a special commission only top level adventurers can take on. Would you like to hear it?"
"Oh…" Bennett shuffled nervously, "Uh… I don't know about-"
"Oh but of course!" Fischl put a hand on her hip and used the other to gesture grandly, "I and my retinue will be able to handle it with perfect ease! Isn't that right Sir Bennett?"
"O-oh uh- o-of course!" He nervously replied, doing his best to give a good smile… and failing.
Nonetheless, Katheryne continued, "Very well- oh." Her eyes caught onto you and Venti on the sidelines, watching them… kind of creepily. "It seems we have some guests. Would the four of you like to team up? After all this is one very important mission." She beckoned the two of you over and - after a quick glance at Venti - you eagerly joined them, a dumb grin tugging up at your lips.
"We would've normally gotten the traveler on such an important commission such as this one," Katheryne said, "However we couldn't seem to find them anywhere."
"That bad of a commission?" Venti hummed, "What is it? We might be able to help."
Katheryne nodded, "I trust in Y/n's abilities."
Venti gave you an odd look as she said that but Katheryne continued, "Basically, the Church of Favonius has noticed a few items missing from the church." You froze up. "These items were of great importance and were a part of the altar to Their Greatness. The commission is essentially to find these objects and bring them back to the Church. The items missing are an ocarina, a large coat from Snezhnaya, a puzzle from Sumeru, earrings from Liyue made from expensive gemstones, an old weapon from Natlan, a statuette, as well as some books and flowers."
"Oh no, that's real bad." Bennett's face twisted in nervousness, "Are there any leads?"
Katheryne shook her head, "I'm afraid not. However the rewards are hefty, and you're probably the best people for the job. So, will the four of you take it?"
You didn't have to think twice, "I'd love to!"
You saw Venti's curious gaze from the corner of your eyes.
"If Y/n is doing it I'll do it to." He grinned and gently elbowed you, "Hey, maybe you could be my bodyguard."
You scoffed, "Yeah, you'll need it."
"Well then of course your Prinzessin shall rise to the occasion as well and shed some light on this desolate land!" Fischl did a grand sweeping motion.
You gave her a tiny clap to which you swore you saw a sparkle in her eye as she looked at you. Though she quickly composed herself and giggled confidently.
"Of course I'll take the commission as well," Bennett said, "Though I'm not sure how much help I'll be… sorry." He scratched the back of his neck with an apologetic smile.
You patted his back firmly, "Aw come on Benny don't apologize for something you haven't done. Plus, you'll do great. You're really experienced aren't you?"
"W-well… I mean…"
"And even if you weren't, we'd still want you to come along." You grinned and gave him a thumbs up.
He chuckled, "Th-thanks. Oh by the way, how did you know my name?"
Shit! You cursed in your head, meanwhile Venti giggled behind you. You've fucked up again.
"Well, you're a well known adventurer and uh… I uh… heard them say your name." You waved towards Katheryne and Fischl, unsure of who had said his name (or if they even had said his name)
"Oh! I see!" Bennett grinned, placing his hands on his hips, "Well, either way, I'm Bennett, an adventurer here at the adventurer's guild." He held out his hand for you to shake, "The both of you are…?"
"(Y/n)." You shook his hand.
"Venti." He did the same.
Bennett hummed, "Huh, your names sound familiar…" He snapped his fingers, "Oh! Venti the bard! I've heard you by the taverns!"
"(Y/n) as well," Fischl said, "That name is awfully familiar for someone I have supposedly just met."
"Oh well uh…" You faltered, scratching your face nervously.
Oz cut in, "Mein Fräulein, are you not aware? Ever since Lord Barbatos resigned as Mondstadt's archon, the church has majorly been worshiping the now overarching god of Teyvat. The one with a gentle and warm embrace, one you have felt yourself. Their graciousness, (Y/n)."
"Oh! Why of course I remember it, Oz!" Fischl's face dusted with pink, "A prinzessin must know of the land she is visiting."
You chuckled, "Yeah, I was named after them. It's been kind of embarrassing especially while visiting Mondstadt. But still, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Same goes to thou," Fischl hummed, "From now on thou shall be my… royal secretary!" She snapped, smiling self-content.
You chuckled and bowed, "It'll be an honor to serve you, my lady." You grinned, standing back up.
Fischl was smiling brightly, a stark contrast to her dark and mysterious persona, "Very good!" She clapped her hands, "And then thou shall be-" She turned to Venti, "The bard!" She snickered.
Venti grinned, crossing his arms, "It would be an honor to be royal bard, your highness." He did an extravagant bow, taking off his hat and all.
Fischl was practically glowing and you couldn't help but feel happy at her smile. After all she was just a child at heart.
"Well then, let's head off!" Bennett exclaimed, pumped from the positive atmosphere, a large grin on his face.
"Yeah! Let's go!" You shouted, giggling as the four of you marched out of Mondstadt.
*~
You learned very quickly that Benny's luck was a lot worse and unpredictable than the game had described it. You almost felt offended. This entire time you thought Bennett was just playing it up in his head to be worse than it was.
Nope. His luck was just as bad as he had said.
As soon as your little party had exited the gates of Mondstadt, a pleasant breeze had brushed past all of you… and Bennett had accidentally inhaled some dandelion seeds the wind was carrying along.
Fischl patted his back firmly, without a hint of panic or hesitation.
"Benny?" You floundered around, looking between his red face, Fischl's calm demeanor, Venti's slightly disturbed face, and Oz, "Is he okay?"
"He will be," Fischl said, going around behind Bennett to perform the Heimlich maneuver.
He let out one last good cough before calming down and clearing his throat, "Thank you Fischl," He rasped.
She sighed, but softly smiled, "It's no problem Benny." She clapped her hands, "Now, let us set off my entourage! To recover that which has been so brutally stolen!" Fischl giggled, starting across the bridge.
You and Venti cringed at the same time, sharing a look before giggling.
"Yes, what barbarians." Venti muttered under his breath to you.
You snickered and elbowed him, "Shut up."
The two of you childishly giggled while the others walked ahead.
"Hey," Bennett called back, "We better hurry along if we want to cover more ground. There aren't any leads so we need to be quick."
Fischl nodded, "Yes! We'll need to be as swift as the wind that billows through Mondstadt, and find which ever way the wind leads. That is where we shall begin our journey." She grinned.
"So…" You hummed, "Go whichever way the wind is blowing?"
Bennett shrugged, "Why not? There's no other leads."
The four of you (five including Oz) stopped at the end of the bridge. Fischl and Bennett stood stock still, waiting for a gust of wind.
Ever so slightly, the ends of Venti's hair lit up, and the wind gently blew in the direction of Windrise.
Bennett pointed, "That way it is. Here's to hoping Lord Barbatos hasn't led us astray!" He grinned.
You and Venti shared a look. He grinned, giving you a thumbs up. You frowned.
*~
"Nothing up here!" Venti called down from the top of the Windrise tree, jumping down to join the rest of you at the base.
Fischl sighed, plopping down on one of the roots, "Ugh! We looked everywhere on the way here and then everywhere at Windrise! Maybe the wind led us wrong this time…" She huffed, glaring at the dirt as though it was the cause for all their problems.
"Well the wind has led us wrong before mein Fräulein." Oz comforted her, settling beside her on the root, "We didn't have any leads before anyways. Can Lord Barbatos really lead us wrong when we had no clear destination in the first place?"
"Yes!" She huffed.
Oz sighed and hopped closer to his princess, he extended a wing and patted her back. Her face visibly relaxed at the action and she sighed.
"Right, I'm a prinzessin," She muttered to herself. She sat up straight and cleared her throat, "My retinue! It is in our best interest that we make haste and continue searching." She stood and Oz fluttered onto her shoulder.
"Should we follow the wind again since we don't have any other leads?" You asked.
Fischl thought for a moment and then nodded, "If Lord Barbatos of Mondstadt wishes to guide us with the wind then thee shall follow. It is the unspoken law of such eminent sovereigns such as I."
"It's what the Adventurers at the guild do when there are no leads." Oz said.
Fischl gave him a sideways glare, "Oz…" She pouted.
Bennett took his glove off to reveal a scarred hand, he licked his pointer finger and put it up in the air. Venti hung around your side, looking at Bennett curiously. Ever so slightly, from the corner of your eye, you could see a small glow coming from the ends of his braids.
Bennett snapped his fingers, "It's going that way- ow!" He pointed east, but as soon as he did a rock smacked him in the back of the head. He cradled it and looked around, "Where did that come from?" He shrugged.
You got a massive wave of déjà vu, "Are you okay?"
He waved his hands dismissively, "Oh yeah I'm fine!" He cleared his throat, "Anyways, it's going that way." He pointed there again… right towards the beach where the items had been buried.
"Then let's go! There's no time to waste!" Venti grinned, grabbing your arm and leading you away.
You really hoped "Barbatos" knew what he was doing.
*~
He did not, in fact, know what he was doing.
The five of you - including Oz - arrived upon the beach. Searching everywhere as you went along. By the water, in the sand, until you arrive at the place where the small patches of sand became a beach and the five of you were overlooking an ocean.
Fischl moved a rock in the sand with her foot, "Not it either," She sighed.
Meanwhile Bennett was choking on bits of sand.
"I'm okay!" He gave a tired thumbs up.
None of you were convinced.
Venti was loitering around as usual, casually looking around at a leisurely pace as though this was a nice vacation.
After digging through another patch of sand to no avail, Fischl huffed, "Bard! Are you just going to stand around doing nothing all day?"
"Mein Fräulein! Watch your temper!" Oz said, settling on Fischl's lap.
Fischl instinctively reached up to pet Oz's head. She sighed indignantly, "There's no trails! This commission was a lost cause and a huge waste of time!"
"Hey, Fischl…" You frowned and stepped towards her, but stopped yourself.
"It wasn't a waste of time," Venti said confidentially, "Because you're spending it with people you like. Nothing is a waste of time in the end so long as you're having fun."
"But I'm not having fun." Both of her hands were on Oz now and the raven was silent.
You pursed your lips and carefully approached her, putting your hand on her head gently, "The sun's probably getting to you. It's been tiring today, we should probably rest."
"Yes," Oz said, "That is a wonderful idea." He looked up at his charge, "Mein Fräulein?"
Fischl cleared her throat, "Why yes, a recuperation period during this slow hour of afternoon would be just what the royal court needs. After all, mortals are weak things. This would be most beneficial to you, my retinue." There was an odd lack of her usual exuberance in her tone, and her eyes nor hunched and small posture matched her grandiose words.
You smiled, and gave her a final pat on her head, "Good. You can have some alone time if you want. Just come to us when you're ready to leave or rejoin the group."
Fischl looked up at you with a wide eye. She nodded and remained silent.
You helped her up and she went to separate from the group temporarily with Oz still in her arms-
"Shoot-!" Bennett screamed, being cut off at the end by his face being shoved into sand.
He hoisted himself up, spitting out the sand that got in his mouth.
"Are you okay Bennett?" Venti called out, going over to help the poor boy up.
"Yeah, I think I just tripped on something." He chuckled, dusting himself off.
Venti looked over in the sand and kneeled down to pick it up, "Wait…" He looked over his shoulder and showed everyone what it was, a huge grin on his face, "Lookie here! Weren't we looking for a statuette?"
Fischl gaped, "We were! So we're close!"
Oz cleared his throat.
"Oh- Hark! The clouds part for the sun to beam through! And it is through my and my charges' hands that the first item has been recovered! And where there is one treasure there are bound to be more afoot. Stay alert my retinue, for we shall soon have the church groveling at our feet with thanks!" She giggled, seeming to have brightened up after seeing the item.
Bennett chuckled giddily, pumping his fist into the air, "Let's go!" He cheered, a massive grin on his face.
Venti tossed the statuette up into the air before catching it with a satisfied grin.
You grabbed the item from him playfully, "I don't think you should be the one to hold onto this."
He put his hands on his hips with a pout, "Oh? And where are you going to put it?"
You opened your mouth to respond but realized that… you didn't have a bag. Or that good of pockets. The best you had was your pants pockets but who knows if it'd fall out.
You smacked your lips together and grimaced, not responding.
"I could hold it! I have a bag!" Bennett exclaimed, stars in his eyes.
"Sir Bennett…" Oz said, "With all the care in my heart, I do believe that you would somehow end up losing it…"
Bennett's eyes widened and he deflated, "Oh… Yeah you're right. Sorry I was just over-excited."
"No, you're fine!" You said, "We just don't want you to lose it. If you have a bag I could borrow then I could carry it?"
He hummed and checked his bags, the one with his vision first and then checked the small bag on his back.
He unhooked it, "You can carry this if you want. I'll need it back though, if you don't mind."
"Oh, of course, thank you Bennett!" You smiled as he handed you the bag.
There wasn't much in there from what you could feel, just the map (that you doubted any of you needed), and a few bandages and peroxide. He put the health items into his other bag that had his vision, and helped you tie it so it'd hang off your hip.
"All done." Bennett pulled away, his hands on his hips, "Should be all good to go."
You moved around a bit to make sure it wouldn't fall off, and sure enough it remained attached.
You put the statuette in the bag, "Thank you Bennett!"
"Anytime, (Y/n)!"
"Now! Where to next my motley crew?" Venti clapped his hands and grinned.
The five of you thought for a moment, looking around the area for any clues.
If we found this statuette here… and we had buried it over there… then they should've gone… "Son of a bitch." You muttered.
Venti came up beside you, "Something wrong?" He whispered.
"I think they went towards the cryo regisvine."
He stifled his laughter, "There's no way they're stupid enough to do that. Everyone knows not to go that way."
"Unless they're not from Mondstadt and don't know the area that well." You scowled, your lips pursed in thought.
It clicked in Venti's mind, "Fatui?" He gasped.
You nodded with a dark grimace, "I think so. They could've seen the coat as well."
Venti put his hand to his chin, "Still… there's no way they wouldn't run away."
"But if they ran away," You said, "They might've left something behind."
Venti considered it and then slowly nodded, "I see your point. Fine, then we'll check the area out, along with the others. There’s no reason not to try anyways." He turned to look at everyone else, "Hey guys!" He shouted, "Me and (Y/n) think it'd be good to look over there!" He pointed down the beach to where the regisvine resided.
Fischl scoffed, "Bard!" She called back, "That is where the bearer of freezing icicle petals resides!"
"Yeah, we know!" He shouted back bluntly.
Fischl deadpanned and ran over to you two, "What do you mean you know? You're just going to walk up to the regisvine?" She grabbed onto one of Venti's shoulders and one of yours.
You grabbed her shoulders, "Think about it Fischl, if they went over there they could've left something behind in their rush to get away."
"Yeah but why would anyone want to go over there?" She scowled, frustrated, "You two aren't going to be stupid while we're on this very important mission."
"Mein Fräulein, please, watch your anger." Oz came up beside her.
Fischl removed her hands and frowned at the raven, "If my retinue will stop spewing such absurd ideas then perhaps I, too, will be more reasonable."
"If you don't want to go then we'll go by ourselves-"
"Absolutely not!" She shouted, "You two are not going by yourselves, I will not let two of my friends do something so stupid without me there to help."
Your heart melted, and your eyes visibly softened.
This is all you've ever wanted wasn't it? This little friend group you now have. Your heart swelled. To be loved in Teyvat, that's all you've ever wanted wasn't it?
Fischl saw the look on your face and glared, "Royal secretary, do not get ahead of yourself. I am still your prinzessin, and though thou's thoughts are unusual and barbaric, I must still protect my people."
"Thank you, Fischl." You said honestly.
The fondness in your words seemed to have thrown Fischl off. Her eyes widened and her jaw went slack. She sputtered but shook it off.
"…Thank you, (Y/n)." There was an odd look in her eyes that you didn't like.
Venti butted in, "Well now that that's settled, me and (Y/n) are going to the regisvine now! Feel free to follow if you want!"
He grabbed your arm and took off, Fischl frustratedly shouted something behind the two of you but you couldn't hear it over Venti's giggling.
"W-wait for me!" Bennett yelled, following after you.
Then the five of you were racing towards the regisvine, you and Venti unusually lax for running straight into a possibly early grave.
Though you were sure nothing too bad would happen.
The five of you heard the regisvine before you saw it. The sounds of ice shattering and breaking. You could already see your breath in front of your face.
"Is it… is it fighting someone?" Bennett questioned, speeding up ahead of the group a bit to try and get a better look at it.
"Wait so," You brightened, "Could the person who took the items be in there?"
Fischl blinked, bewildered, her hands on her arms, "Are they really..?"
Venti grinned, "Only one way to find out! Come on!" He grabbed you and Bennett by your arms, dragging you towards the regisvine.
"W-woah!" Bennett tripped but Venti and you helped him before he fell completely in the sand.
The three of you bolted ahead, mostly being dragged by Venti.
"W-w-wait! Guys!" Fischl yelled after you guys, running ahead to catch up.
"Mein-" Oz sighed affectionately, "Be careful you four." He glided next to all of you.
Then the four of you heard a distinct sound. The sound of someone fighting.
Venti grinned, "Looks like we've found our culprit."
He rushed ahead, towards an edge where there was a small drop off.
You heard Venti gasp.
"What? What is it, Venti?" You asked insistently.
The rest of you came up beside him. At the same time all of you gasped, "Noelle?" The three of you shouted.
At the sound of her name she turned to look at you. She was scraped a bit and scuffed up, but she still had her shield up. Her eyes were wide and confused, but she looked away as the regisvine reared up to land another hit on her.
"We gotta help her!" You shouted.
Bennett scrambled around, "What do we do?" He shook from uncertainty.
You pursed your lips and sucked in a steady breath, "Bennett," You looked at him, "Go break the circle thing with your skill, Fischl, Oz, do the same thing."
The three of them stared at you wide-eyed for a moment.
"Come on! She needs help!" You urged them to go, pushing Fischl forward gently, "If anything happens… I'll make sure you're okay." You held onto her shoulder firmly and then let go.
Despite their hesitation, their expressions hardened and they nodded. They jumped down and headed for the regisvine.
"Ah," Noelle looked up but nodded, "Thank you."
"Let's light it up!"
"Oz, reveal thyself!"
Venti and you stood by, watching as they chipped away at the shield.
"And what am I to do, (Y/n)?" The name came as naturally to him as breathing. His heart swelled at the notion.
"You come in after the shield is broken." You said, watching them carefully, "You won't be able to do much but help is help."
"Haah!" Bennett broke the shield.
"Venti, go! Do your skill."
"Got it!" He nodded, sprinting down to join the others. He spun, "Here we go!"
"Infused pyro, not ideal but it'll do…" you muttered to yourself. Your eyes caught onto Bennett's and Noelle's glowing visions, "Bennet! Burst. Noelle once he sets it down you burst too. Fischl, resummon Oz!"
They all hesitated with the orders, but Bennett got over it before any damage could be done and set his ult down. Afterwards, Noelle was quick to slash at the fallen flower, and Oz was resummoned.
You sighed, shoulders slumping, silently praying you wouldn't have to do a second cycle.
Somehow, by some miracle, your ragtag team did manage to one cycle it. Just as the flower was coming up, and Bennett's ult had already disappeared, Noelle managed to get one more good swing in and finish it off. Her giant, geo infused greatsword disappeared.
She huffed, "Thank you."
You jumped down to join the others, a massive grin on your face, "Good job you five!" You clapped Venti and Fischl on their shoulders and gently patted Oz, "That was clean!"
Venti crossed his arms, "Didn't really feel like I did much."
"Well…" You mused, "You didn't really, but you do have four piece Viridescent on don't you?"
"U-uh," Venti sputtered, his face beet red. He grabbed your arm, "Don't mention it in front of everyone." He glared and then let out a massive sigh, attempting to rid himself of the red painting his cheeks, "But… yes… I do. Just, don't mention it in front of everyone again okay? I told you that in confidence."
"Oh… s-sorry…" You muttered, confused, "I-I got carried away…"
You had no damn clue what that was about, but from the reactions of the others you shouldn't have brought that up. They were seemingly politely ignoring what you'd just said.
"Well uh- n-nevermind then. Sorry again I got too excited."
"It's fine," Venti dismissively waved his hand, "You're bringing the mood down. Noelle," He smiled at the girl, "Are you okay?"
"Oh! Yes!" She clasped her hands and smiled gratefully, "I'm fine! Although I'm not sure if I would've been if you three hadn't arrived when you did. Oh, by the way," Her smile died down and there was a curious glint in her eyes, "Why were you traveling this way? If I may ask."
"Oh," Bennett put his hands on his hips and responded coolly, "We were tasked with a commission from the Adventurer's Guild to find the objects that were stolen from the church."
'There were items stolen from the church?" Noelle gasped, her hands going up to cover her mouth, "I suppose I've been out all morning and that's why I haven't heard yet…”
"Maybe,” You said, “but that's why we were looking this way, we thought the culprits might've gone this way. Have you seen anything?" You tilted your head with a kind smile.
"Well…" Noelle hummed, "The reason I'm here in the first place is because I noticed there were some Fatui members that were being attacked by the regisvine. I couldn't just let them be beat by it so I helped them out but they ran away." She furrowed her brows and frowned, "Do you think they might've been the ones to steal from the church?"
"I think so." You said, matching her frown, "Do you know which way they went?"
Noelle hummed, looking around, "I think I saw them go over that way. Follow me." She motioned for the rest of you to follow her and you did so without hesitation.
She turned and headed to the other entrance of the regisvine’s “cave”
“Unless they’re really good climbers or swimmers, isn’t this a dead end.” Bennett said, furrowing his eyebrows.
Venti grinned and pointed at Bennett, “Exactly.”
Bennett’s eyes twinkled with recognition and he nodded, his hands on his hips and a grin on his lips.
Sure enough there were Fatui members breathing heavily. In the middle of their little group were all the goods.
As soon as they had seen you they readied themselves for a fight and swung wildly and hard.
Out of instinct of scrambling to switch characters, you screamed, “Noelle-!”
“Leave it to me!” A shield encased all of you. Weak but effective.
“Bennett, Fischl, Venti, do your skills!”
“Yahoo!”
“Oz!”
“Hah!”
“Bennett! Ult!” You commanded.
He did so and it made the fight go so much smoother, especially once Noelle had ulted as well. The four of them effectively cleaned up the Fatui while Noelle’s shield protected all of you from Fatui members. Including you, which you were immensely glad for. You shivered at the thought of what they’d try on you if you didn’t have a shield.
“Good job all of you!” You stepped over the Fatui’s bodies.
Noelle and Bennett blushed, “Thank you, (Y/n).” Noelle smiled gently, “Are these the items that were stolen from the church?”
“I believe so,” Venti hummed, crouching down to inspect the items, “Ocarina, puzzle, earrings, the books, weapon, coat… I think this is everything.”
“Weren’t there flowers?” Fischl asked, leaning over to look at all the items.
“They probably didn’t bother with them.” You frowned.
“Still!” Bennett shouted, grinning ear-to-ear, “This is great! We found most of the items that we were supposed to! Looks like my bad luck isn’t that bad today!”
Just as he spoke those words, the cryo regisvine respawned.
“Shit!” You jumped back at seeing it reappear.
Noelle panicked, “How do we get past it?”
“No way we have to fight it again!” Fischl whined.
Bennett deflated, “I’m sorry everyone…”
