tbh it is kind of funny how on their first day at beacon ruby asked yang "why do i need friends when i have you?" to which yang responds by ditching her to catch up with her own friends like okay, i guess that's one way to get the message clear lol
and then during the fall of beacon, when ruby isn't answering her scroll and everyone yang asks about her whereabouts doesn't know where she is either, you'd expect yang to be super worried and panicking because for all she knows, ruby might be dead in a ditch somewhere
but instead of that happening she tells the barely-standing-on-her-own weiss to look for ruby while she goes to meet up with blake and like
damn. she really meant that. the first and the last day at beacon, full circle moment.

Yang: (whistling as she saunters through the house, over to the bookshelf, and takes the old, beat up copies of Blake’s favorite books before bringing them to the basement workshop)
Weiss: ......What was that about?
Ruby: I don't know.... but I'm terrified to see how Blake reacts when she notices all of her favorite books are missing.
Three Months Later
Blake: (seething in her reading chair as she begrudgingly reads an ebook on her scroll)
Yang: (bursts out from the basement with a huge grin) Babe! I got a surprise for you!
Blake: Unless it's the whereabouts of my books, I'm not in the mood. My eyes are straining from the light on my scroll.
Yang: Oh, your books are in the basement- (gets tackled to the floor) DOUPH!!!
Blake: (murderous aura surrounding her figure) Say again?
Yang: Yeah... I brought your books downstairs-
Blake: And you never considered telling me when I asked you the HOW many times I asked you if you knew where my books were?
Yang: It would have spoiled the surprise.
Blake: (blinks) .....You have my attention.
Yang: (sits up and carries Blake into the basement where all of Blake’s favorite books have been rebound in custom leather bindings and covers) Ta-Da!
Blake: (shocked) Yang, what in Remnant?
Yang: I wanted to do something to make your books last a little longer. Those bad boys were falling apart when I got to them.
Blake: (Picks up one of the novels and traces her finger along the reinforced spine before flipping over the heavy-duty, dark leather cover. The title is carved into the front with ornate designs and colored in goldleaf)
Yang: What do you think?
Blake: You could have just bought me hardcovers, you know.
Yang: Where's the fun in that?
Blake: (Places the book back on the table and throws her arms around Yang’s neck) You're amazing.
Yang: (beaming as she returns the hug) I try.
Blake: But if you ever hide my books from me like this again, we're going to have words.
Yang: R-Right! Got it.

The Book of Taiyang
Sandworm Grimm: ROOOOAAAARRR!!
Vacuan Civilians: *screaming as the monster closes in*
????: Hey, over here! *punches a flaming hole through the Grimm*
Civilians: *stare in wonder at their mysterious stranger as the Grimm dissipates*
Civilian: Are…are you a huntsman…?
????: *dusts off tattooed bicep*
????: *adjusts cargo shorts*
????: *tilts back gardener’s sun hat*
????: I’m just a simple man trying to make his way in the world.
Civilians: *sink to their knees in awe*
Taiyang: Seriously though, can anybody give me directions to Vacuo? All my friends and family are there and I’ve been lost in this desert for days!
Zwei: Urf. (This is the way.)
