why do you like ero guro stuff? genuine question cause I’ve found myself liking it recently and idk why and I’m anxious about it

"Why did someone's personal meat computer that has trillions of variables going into it at all times for decades and counting end up in this particular state" is a question for, like, god or whatever, and idc what the answer is. So I'll just talk about a few of the variables that I noticed and find interesting I guess.

I remember always feeling A Strange Way about seeing violence as a little kid. 2 particular memories: seeing a preview for something on Russian TV where a dude with long blonde hair and a denim jacket was standing on top of a hill and got shot in the chest and fell into the sea all dramatic, and leafing through some kinda super bloody samurai comic/manga that someone had misplaced in the kids section of the public library. Then there were the edgy Newgrounds flash games and Happy Tree Friends and the very concept of seppuku...

I was always a super scaredy kid and would tend to get fixated on stuff like that and replay it in my head for hours at a time, in absence of external stimuli or reassurance. Stuck in the backseat on a long boring car trip, worried skullkid was hiding in the trunk and was gonna chainsaw through it any minute, unable to share my fears with my parents cause I should've been old enough to know I'd hear the saw motor running if death were actually that close by.

I guess with time, I found the best way to stop being so scared of it was to jack off to it, and in the post nut clarity, realizing that I hadn't died, or accidentally killed anyone else either, so maybe it wasn't the end of the world, and it got easier with time, as I kept testing that apocalyptic theory.

Another thought that helped: the Saw movies make hundreds of millions of dollars. Probably not something that could happen in a society where attraction towards gore was genuinely something you'd be widely shunned and exiled for, at least on that level. Bringing sex into it of course squicks out a lot of people, but that's true of everything, cause we're still so weird about sex generally.

But I saw unsimulated executions on liveleak before I watched any R rated movies. We had drills in elementary school to make sure we never forgot the possibility that a stranger would come in and shoot us to death someday, so we covered under our desks, until they told us it was time to feel safe again, and we could go back to our coloring books or whatever innocent little childlike things we did back then*.

I didn't get Formal Sex Ed till like, high school, but the kid who showed me Happy Tree Friends explained the basics of it to me on the playground back then, too. Stick the deadly weapon you were born fused to into someone else's holes until fluids came out. Same basic principle.

So I guess the cute tidy answer would be: I grew up in the American capitalist antisex death cult. How could I not end up a bit weird about the concepts of death and sex?

Explore what you like, nonnie. Never let anyone shame you for thinking or feeling anything. The only thing that Actually Matters is how you treat other people, and if you're not going out and hurting people without their consent, you're light years ahead of all the cops and soldiers and capitalists out there who are thoroughly convinced that they are Good People™ for doing what they do. Looking at images with a higher % of red pixels than average, or reading graphic descriptions of mutilation that don't have the characters turn to the camera mid-scene to say THIS IS NOT GOOD TO DO DON'T DO THIS IN REAL LIFE BY THE WAY, isn't some type of uniquely irreversible soulcorruption you need to rescue yourself from or whatever.

Let that rotten flesh-stinking flower in your mind bloom ❤️

*I never knew what to draw as a kid; my first ever drawings were imitations of Children's Drawings I'd seen on TV and whatever. Stick figures living in a box-and-triangle house unlike any I'd ever actually seen, never mind lived in, snowcapped purple mountains in the background when the only ones I knew were the very much unsnowed-upon, earth toned Hollywood Hills. I distinctly remember crumpling up and throwing away a drawing in 2nd grade because I didn't feel like my art was "marketable" enough.

I'm glad I'm able to express myself a bit more truly nowadays, at least in some regards. I guess I found my market :)

dreamcatcher really is that group for me

like i love rock and i don't know and tbh idc if it's valid or not to be introduced to rock by dreamcatcher (just worried bout pretentious rock fans) but anyways, i love their sound. all their title tracks just make me so happy. you and i, good night, rose blue. their b-sides that i would die for. wake up, break the wall, tension. their chiller b-sides that are equally as good. alldaylong, whistle, jazz bar, wonderland, trust me. hell, they even got me to love ballads (polaris i'm looking at you). ANYWAYS what I'm trying to say is that this group has everything.

Girlies could really sing about chasing someone in their dreams and being obsessed and I would still go "yes exactly, they did everything right". Their lyrics mean a lot to me, even if they didn't write all of them.

Also the members, i love each and every one of them. Even if I'm fixated on another group or smth, I always just come back around to dc. They all just seem so genuine and just seem to love what they do, as a group and their solos. I'm glad they're in a company that believes in them. And I'm glad that they just keep going and going. They changed their sound up a bit with Scream, you have to admit that, but it's still dreamcatcher. Sometimes I listen to Reason and Chase Me back to back and I just sob lol. They've come so far. I hope they keep on going further.

The way they talk about each other makes me think that yes, it really is just the seven of them.

ABOUT ME (cus im bored andd busily forgot)!! VERY LONG CUS I YAP TOO MUCH:

• First Topic!- Facts and fixations..!

(even though I probably have small details to tell cus it’s hard to explain for me stuff and have tightly enclosed interests, learning, etc)

• stars and space..I enjoy to fully immerse myself in further biology aswell (science is all time for me) and learn by reading my science encyclopedia and watching videos of teachers demonstrating/dedicating this topic knowledgeable enough to know (ofc)for atleast a decade. It’s me and the online teachers against the world. Fight meh, (pls don’t, I ain’t intrigued enough for it)

• I love my little pony (if you couldn’t already tell) which has been easily going on for most of my life and never will stop (most lesbian show ever). Continuing on, I adore and know most of the episodes IF I can physically remember ( i DONT have good memory) , and rewatched each episode atleast twice..even when I’m busy. I would talk for hours on end and rant about it! Lol! ( I was born to watch this show ).

•MOSHI MONSTERsZZ, I have the encyclopedia and everything, I loved playing the game and trollling on there to scare everyone and wish I spent more time on it. I used to have figures of them and I personally also dreamt to become one of them as a kid! The series itself helped me interest into reading any kinds of silly stories too (LOVREE ITT). However, it was an on and off story, that’s why I didn’t spent so much. More obsessed now!

•Pokémon!! Gonna catch them alllll!, yes, I had the collections and when my dad brought me all them cards, i couldn’t help but pack them up read through trying to actually get them all! I would talk about it all day (if I ran out of ideas of mlp) running to school to interest others kids (most people were OPPS against this fr..) but that didn’t stop me from watching or playing!! :D Fixation since 2011-idk lol.

•Plants vs zombies..what a time. I remember how I kept this away from everyone, even my parents and uncle (mostly dad). Another one that’s been happening most of my life aswell. However, I got upset when they changed the game itself..I cried cus WTFFFF..they updated it to a basic level game and was no longer interested in it. I LOVE playing the old demo tho fr, best thing ever, just like everything else cus I die when change. I loved it since the DS version was out ( Jan 2011 ).

I have more but too much already..

Second topic!: ME!

I have multiple disabilities. In statement of including of ADHD, attempted Tism, scoliosis (mild/progressing),astigmatism, attempted asthma and breathing problem(s), binge eating disorder, body dysmorphia, eczema (less baffling), motion sickness, indigestion, insomnia, endometriosis (mild/ also progressive), anaemia and maladaptive dreamer.

Third Topic!: Films/Series and music taste..

My favourite films/series (surprised myself).. are Mad Max 1 and 2, Scorpion King, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 (fixation), FROM (series), Elf, Diary of the wimpy kid, Fast and furious (kinda tired of them lol), Casino Royale, Boisvert (series), Happy meat farms/ Jurassic World (analog horror) Karate Kid (film series), Fury, 1917. I have more but idc to tell!

Ok i just wanna rant about how good a brother mammon is.

I'm the oldest in the family, so i never really experienced having someone close to look up to. I have to be the example and all that but i always wanted an older brother. Idc if hes the dumbest person alive, i just want someone who i know i could trust.

And here comes mammom.

Despite how much of a 'scum' he's supposed to be, it's shown that he really is trying to be a good brother (and he is). He genuinely cares for his family and it kinda stuck to me. He's like the annoying older brother you have but still love since despite everything, since they were there at you lowest.

I never wanted an older brother this badly until i meet him and it kinda shows how touch starved i am. I seem to gravitate towards the 'older brother' type of characters in stories because thinking how cool it would be to have someone you could trust to confide in. Mammon may not be the best big brother out there but his sincerity is true and thats all i need.

This!! He's such a good big brother holy shit, yeah he fucks up a lot too but is that not how siblings work?

• He goes out to events and waits in line to buy tickets for Levi?

• He reminds Levi to buy two of a particular merch item so that he can unbox one and leave the other in the box

• He buys that figurine for Levi when he thought Levi lost that raffle draw

• He reassures Levi when he thinks Lucifer would be happier without his memories

• The whole maid audio with Levi and how he genuinely reassures him in the end

• He used to take the twins out to the human world when they were in the Celestial Realm

• He bought both the twins outfits in the human world

• He takes the blame for it when Belphie breaks a picture frams

• He creates a goup chat called 'Emergency' when he thinks Belphie is feeling sad

• He gently prods Asmo away from trying to be a beauty vlogger cause he knew how pissed Lucifer would be

• When he sees the others are making Satan more upset he quickly takes them outta the room so that Lucifer will be able to talk to Satan

• In the anime when Beel is eating those ice creams

• In the anime when Satan starts baby talking and he instantly agrees to play with him (adding to my HC that he played a key role in raising Satan)

• When he buys them all food in the summer festival

• When he was willing to give up the mission for Levi in the spy event

• When he carries Luke and shows him the stars on the train

• When he's completely happy (and actually finds it funny) that Luke keeps sending him pictures of every step he completes while baking

• When he absolutely refuses to break the bracelet even after finding out that it was cursed cause Luke gave it to him and then later reassures Luke when he's feeling upset about it and thanks him for the bracelet

• The way he quietly worriedly spoke to Beel when he kept mistaking a figurative saying about food for a literal thing in the human world

from a legal point of view it’s complicated because there is no law to back up the prosecution but from an ethical point of view definitely!prosecution though is a pretty legal term so ethically they should be punished

short answer:no i wouldn’t and no i don’t.long answer:while i deeply respect my country’s culture and impact and i live of off it’s wealth and study freely in it’s universities and spend my life reading philosophy and biology and physics which originated from greece or greeks contributed to them,i am 1)against war for the reasons it happens nowadays (capital) 2)they say a country is it’s people and as much as i love my culture,the majority of the people here have opinions and motives deeply rooted in misogyny and racism and are nationalists .

i've come to make an announcement:

Neil Gaiman is a BITCH ASS MOTHERFUCKER -

but seriously i want to go off on a very specific ineffable husbands thing in episode 3 for a hot minute so let's blow this popsicle stand

now, at the risk of sounding like one of those shippers who overanalyzes every single infinitesimal detail of their ship's interactions, i would like to momentarily draw your attention to a beautiful little moment in episode 3, Hard Times, the first half of which is, as we all know, entirely comprised of beautiful little moments.

so, about a minute into the episode, we get to see the world as it was in 3004 B.C. during the tale of noah’s arc. aziraphale is standing in a crowd, observing the commotion, when crowley (i guess it’s technically “crawley” at the moment but idc) appears.

now, i could go on about this interaction for days if you wanted me to. the fact that crowley greets him by his NAME after 1000 years of not seeing each other, which is an impressive feat of memory even if you don’t consider the fact that aziraphale NEVER TOLD CROWLEY HIS NAME IN THE FIRST PLACE (and yes, i did check). how did he know it? did he ask somebody because he was so curious (awww), or did he remember him from before he Fell??? makes you think 🤔 i mean it’s POSSIBLE that azzy just told him his name after it cuts away but i’m not making this fucking analysis based off of the HYPOTHETICAL god damn it the cute little way crowley pops up over azzy’s left shoulder (symbolism much?) while azzy glances to the right (which was probably intentional on crowley’s part; it’s an appropriately mischievous thing to do (perhaps even a bit... flirtatious? hee hee hee)), the genuine, pure DELIGHT in crowley’s voice when greeting him, which, contrasted with aziraphale’s nervous reply, is even more conspicuous. like. crowley. dude. you’re not even trying to hide your massive crush at this point.

but this isn’t even what i made this post to discuss!!!

this is gonna get real long tho so i made a read-more link

i haven’t heard ANYONE mention the significance of crowley’s very next line in this scene:

the smirk. the head tilt that he uses as an excuse to sidle just a little closer to such an interesting angel. the wiggle. head tilt #2 accompanied by inch rested eyebrow raise. the wiggle. the fact that his eyes are glued to aziraphale the entire time. and when he stops talking? oh, i know that look my dude. i see that little smile. that’s the look of Yearning. you’ve got a case of Gay Yearning and it only gets worse. you’ve fallen twice and you can’t get up. not to mention the delivery that i can’t show you through a gif but trust me DT wasn’t just playing up the flirtation factor through his body language, he was using his voice too. he doesn’t sound like he’s talking about inventing war and defying God, he sounds like he’s talking about a spicy little rumor that’s been spreading around the science building that directly concerns the very cute person he’s talking to. like, i can almost see the lockers and messenger bags.

but more to my point. so, again, it’s been 1000 years since they last spoke, and what’s the first thing crowley mentions? that’s right, aziraphale’s rebellious act of kindness that initially surprised + impressed him! come on, we all love this moment:

*freddie mercury voice* I've Fallen In Love, I've Fallen In Love For The First Time

what i’m getting at is that aziraphale made such an impression here, on crowley, that it was on his mind for basically the entire 1000 years since eden. enough to go out of his way to learn his name. enough to bring it up first thing next time they met. it’s the moment he remembers azzy for, the thing that sets him apart from the rest. aziraphale directly disobeyed God in an effort to protect adam and eve, which caused crowley to have the first crush in all of history. this we all know. but more than that, it was the first crush to survive a millennia-long gulf of exactly zero interaction god he just fell so in love in 3 words klajfldajsfkldsjf i’m soft

now, a counterpoint. it is absolutely true that their meeting on the walls of eden was hopelessly brief, and very little of their exchange was shown beyond this moment. therefore, there wouldn’t be a whole lot to make conversation about. BUT TO THAT I RAISE YOU the fact that azzy was standing alone when crowley specifically approached him at the front of the crowd. sure, it was probably a happy little accident that they managed to end up in the same place. but i assure you that this was no chance meeting, my friends. crowley meant to meet aziraphale here, and he meant to learn more about this angel who was Different and Not Like The Others and also to ask So What Happened Next? not to mention the fact that he popped up so unexpectedly behind azzy that i wouldn’t be surprised if he just miracled himself there. everything about their noah meeting just screams Deliberation.

so, here’s my hypothesis for what exactly went down circa 4000-3004 B.C.

1. eden meeting. crowley catches the gays for the angel of the eastern gate. both of them fuck off to do their jobs on earth and don’t see each other for a long long time.

2. some years pass. in between temptations and pretending to cause horrible events, crowley’s thoughts routinely turn to the angel he’d met earlier, wondering what had happened to him. what was he doing now? probably some other genuine acts of kindness that came from a place of compassion, unlike the angels he’d known before his Fall. or, what if he got in trouble because of the sword thing? what if Heaven conditioned him not to do things like that again. that would be a shame, crowley thinks. a real shame.

3. some more years go by, perhaps a century or two. you know what, crowley decides, it would probably be a good idea to figure out that angel’s name (he doesn’t remember him from Before). not out of any personal interest, of course, no way. just as, like, a polite thing. for in case they ever met again. god does he want to meet him again so he asks around hell, real casual, y’know, like hey, just out of curiosity, does anyone remember the angel of the eastern gate? before they Fell? and some of them are just like Who? and others give him dirty looks.

4. so he gives up on that for a while once his coworkers really start to get sick of it. maybe does his job, maybe fucks around for some years. but he won’t be stopped forever! he still wants to know that angel’s name. so crowley resorts to some more underhanded tactics. he corners some low-ranking angel who was just on earth for a courier assignment, and they only give him aziraphale’s name out of slight fear. success!!!

5. aziraphale. aziraphaaale. he tries it on his tongue. wonder what he’s been up to. is he even still on earth? hopefully. someone’s got to go out of their way for these guys. wonder if he likes the humans as much as crowley does. probably maybe? i mean if that sword thing was any indication. does aziraphale like demons with long hair, or short? wait. he’s angel, he doesn’t like demons at all. fuck. crowley doesn’t have a crush! he doesn’t!

6. he should probably get back to work. enough of this aziraphale business. psshh. he doesn’t know why he cared so much in the first place.

7. 1000 years since the creation of the world already? wow. time flies when you’re immortal. although, the weather’s been really overcast lately. is there something fishy going on?

8. wow look at this huge crowd. that sure is a lot of animals. and is that... a boat? what’s that for? we’re nowhere near the ocean. better check it out. should try to find a spot at the front so i can see - wait is that. is that...? noooo. no way!!!

9. aziraphale holy shit!!! fucking finally!!! wait no i’ve gotta play it cool. can’t act too friendly. he doesn’t know me. probably doesn’t even remember me. off on his own doing really nice things for people. doing really nice things even to his own detriment. i’m not even on the radar. but what if he does remember me? okay. focus. gotta be chill about this. i’m gonna ask him about that fucking sword.

okay hhhhh this was way too long for something so minor but god crowley continues to be relatable as fuck thank you gaiman + pratchett + tennant + sheen + fucking everyone who worked on this

my fucking teeth had been looked after since i was 8, i wore different kinds of braces till i was 15, and all of that to be told that the only way my teeth would ever be straight was to undergo an aesthetic surgery which consists in breaking both of my jaws, thing the orthodontist had known since i was 8. And he knew the whole brace thing would be useless. so now i’m left with absolutely no confidence in my smile, a bad self-esteem, and a total distrust for any male dentist with big fingers. dude i absolutely hated to go there, i had never trusted him for as long as i went there, i was literally crying each time i had to go there and my mom was like “stop now, you’ll see, you’ll have a beautiful smile after this, wait and see.” lmao that didn’t age well

in uni i’m the silent one that literally never talks if they can help it. also the one who gives their notes, but those are generally illegible for the common of mortals. only takes the lead in a project if the others are even more freaked out, or else will follow gently and correct errors. goes to class. sometimes brings tea. always hungry but forgets food at home. starts the beginning of the year alone but ends up with new comrades to share the class with. never interacts first. bad at studying, only saved by a good memory and going to motherfucking class and taking notes. leg surely shaking underneath the table. not a student that terrible, just has a few troubles to adapt. terribly anxious for exams, already cried more than once in the bathroom but it’s getting better now.

walking over a bridge and seeing the dead body of my dog in the river (more emotionally upsetting than horrific). not noticing that someone was dead in the alternate reality of real life in my dream and waking up in tears because oh fuck they’re fucking dead oh no oh no but no it was a joke that my brain played on me, no one is dead, yay. walking over a bridge after getting out of a maze and the bridge breaks and falls and i fall too. it’s not really scary but it sure does happen often. i generally don’t remember my dreams and nightmares. bridges are sure a leitmotiv tho

You are so freaking awesome and I love writing with you!! What are some of your favorite little quirks that you've written for your characters?

well come write with me more pls. actually, everyone come write with me. i’d like to live here again pls. but quirks, okay okay, lemme think…Straight off the bat, I can tell you that i love how human Isadora is. The fact that despite her enhanced hearing, people can still sneak up on her because she’s just, so into everything else that she just gets lost in it. I love that she’s timid when it almost makes no sense for her to be. That she’s still utterly terrified of love and intimacy without it being about what she is and more to do with the fact that she just doesn’t know how to do it. the idea of immortality hasn’t skewed her or made her cynical, she’s still just the same young girl she was before she was cursed. I like that she fiddles with her clothing when she’s nervous, observant of her distance when she can tell someone else is nervous too. That little things throw her OCD out of whack, like, the position of the toaster or one light bulb being a warm hue and the other being a cold one. I’m obsessed with the fact that she keeps things, knickknacks and photographs and things to remember the people she knows by. Movie stubs, drawings, keychains, that kind of thing. I’m not sure if people have ever really picked up on it, but I really like playing on Hudson and is eidetic memory. It’s interesting to write out without ever really putting it together and I think that’s a huge part of who he is and why he is the way he is. It’s harder for him to forget things he seen, which in turn makes writing out his memories so much fun. I’d like to think that his habitual nature of rubbing his jawline is something he picked up from his dad. That he takes the greatest amount of comfort from physical touch when he’s worried or concerned for someone. Seeing and feeling is completely different for someone who knows how easy it can be to warp a persons mind so I think it’s very interesting to see him react to the bad situations. Is his black magic a quirk? Idc it’s a kink and it’s my favorite fucking thing about him.Hendrix might have the least quirks out of all of them, mostly because he’s used to blending into a crowd, which seemingly is a little difficult if there are things about you that stand out however.. I’d say his innate ability to always be quite literally touching a weapon of some sort and being completely aware of it is just.. a peek into how seriously he takes hunting. He’s never on edge, but it’s always just there. I feel like i write it into all of my male characters but like, he’s always dragging his hand through his hair, like i don’t think it’s ever just.. neat. Idk quirks are hard.

I WENT TO THE TORONTO DIAMOND EDGE CONCERT AND THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE

ok first of all it honestly didn’t even hit me that this was ACTUALLY HAPPENING

then the lights dimmed & svt was thERE and i realized holy fucking shit this was real i’m seeing them in reAL LIFE HOLY SHIT

let me tell you, they are all fucking STUNNING. they look like they do in all the pictures/music videos except IN PERSON and it was incredible, they all had perfect skin and looked absolutely gorgeous

my friends and i had seats pretty up close (in row F) but on the far right so we saw everything from a weird angle, luckily we had aisle seats so i had some space to see, but i mostly ended up focusing on the members dancing closer to our side of the stage

they introduced themselves and i lost my shit at every single one of them

hoshi was so hyper god bless him he was jumping all over the place and fooling around and had so much energy i was so happy to see that, he did the whole “what time is it” and everyone shrieked “10:10″ it was amazing

IF YOU DIDN’T THINK I WAS LOSING MY SHIT SEEING WOOZI IRL WITH THAT GORGEOUS LOWKEY FADING RED HAIR YOU THOUGHT WRONG, HE WAS SMALL BUT BREATHTAKING

they were definitely pretty tired, though. seokmin was laughing and having fun on stage but he was pretty subdued at some parts, and jun and wonwoo were too. i think jun had a headache or something, poor thing

hip hop unit was so fucking good, i didn’t film a single second of their mixtapes bc me and my friend nush were too busy jamming tf out. it was so funny, everyone around us was just kinda screaming and filming it but you see us assholes by the aisle getting hyped

seungcheol was being a rude ass motherfucker the ENTIRE time, running his hands through his hair and having it all messy and shit, holy crap he was so hot i lost my entire soul when he went close to our side of the stage

they had a brief intermission of sorts where they showed us pictures of svt as kids and it was sO CUTE. i was dying at seokmin’s though bc they just had that pic of him in like middle school or smth with that dumb hair and dumb glasses but they shoWED IT TWICE JUST WITH DIFFERENT FILTERS I WAS CRYING

anyways they said they’d give us a “hot stage” and i was immediately like yes yes yes yes yes idc what you’re giving us i WANT IT

and they perfORMED ROCK I WAS LOSING IT I COULDN’T BELIEVE ITTTT

they also performed chuck and it was so cute bc afterwards soonyoung was trying to teach us the “CHUCK CHUCK BRRRRR CHUCK” move and it was absolutely adorable

anyways when vernon started to say “it’s the end of the concert” i got so shook bc it literally felt like the concert just started??? the entire concert itself was like 2 hours but it didn’t feel like it at all!

but they performed don’t wanna cry and then an encore of shining diamond and healing and it was lovely

we had a special project where during healing we held up banners and shit and they looked genuinely so surprised and touched

like vernon and josh kept repeating how touched they were, and mingyu looked like he might start crying, and seungkwan was really close to my side of the stage and you could see how his eyes were shining and how bright his smile is, like they were all so heartfelt and humble and kept talking about how much they enjoyed the concert and how happy they were to be here and how they want to come back to toronto as soon as possible

it was that exact moment where i realized i fucking love svt so much and i sold my entire life to them

this was supposed to be one concert i can splurge on and then never again, but after seeing that i decided my wallet can fucking deal with it

anyways the hi touch went by so fast i was a little disappointed, like u rlly didn’t have time to do anything but maybe blurt out an “i love you” to every member and give them a hi five

like honestly, unless it was like the kcon hi touch where you actually HELD their hands and got a couple seconds with each of them them, i don’t think i can believe anybody who says they managed to utter out even a sentence and get a response back from them, our security kept pushing us through and shouting to us that “it’s a high five not a handshake”

they were all even more gorgeous up close!!! the first one was chan and he had the sweetest smile but you could tell the poor baby was tired

and then not in order bc i can’t remember SHIT, but i remember jun and mingyu looking tall and gorgeous, and seungcheol smiled and touched my hand sO softly with his hair falling into his eyes jesus christ

ok but seungkwan??? actual angel. everyone says you can tell how much he loves and appreciates all of us carats and they’re all absolutely fucking right.

i’m so sad that i didn’t get the chance to say anything more to even josh or vernon who might understand me, i was so overwhelmed and rushed i could only say “thank you” to all of them dfgpaegpe i should have told them how much i loved them

so yeah my left hand touched all of their hands and one day i want to go to a concert that has an event where i can really talk to them all for a couple of seconds, i just want to be able to tell them how much i appreciate them for everything they do for us

SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGHT

there’s some drama going around on twitter right now where soonyoung apparently threw shade at the fans mobbing them at pearson airport but idk if it’s actually true or not, it was hard for me to hear where i was standing but i knew for a fact that the translator was pretty terrible lmao he couldn’t keep up with svt at all

there was a disabled fan in a wheelchair up in the front on our side of the stage and they were all so sweet, they always smiled and waved at her, especially seungkwan and soonyoung

they really made sure that everyone felt noticed, they made sure to look around and wave at everyone in the balconies and shit too

jeonghan was an absolute angel???? he really made sure us carats on the far right of the stage felt appreciated, he took a lot of time to come close to our side and wave at all of us i wanted to cry

mingyu was really good with waving at us too, he’s tall and skinnier than i expected but an actual darling. my pal nush has a video where they were all lined up and he looked almost rIGHT AT HER and waved just as she was moving the camera to film her man junhui she was dying on the train this morning when she found out lmao

seungkwan too!!!

i blew a kiss at seungkwan when he was kinda looking in our direction and he smiled and wagged his finger and i thINK IT WAS IN RESPONSE TO ME??? IDK IF IT WAS REALLY BECAUSE OF ME BUT I WAS DEAD ANYWAY BOO SHOT UP MY BIAS LIST SO FUCKING FAST BECAUSE OF THAT

anyways i can’t believe that happened and i’m emotionally exhausted and dead, it was such a fantastic experience and i can’t wait to do it again someday

do you have tips on taking notes?

yes!! i have many, so i tried to make it easier for you to navigate :)

L O N G post ahead of you, covering lecture notes and readings notes, from a college senior :)

lecture notes:

i suggest using a notebook and pen, physically writing down. it’s easier to study, and since it’s using your body, you have a much higher retention rate on your side than if you use a laptop.

i have used my laptop for taking notes before. it’s easier to take more notes, word for word, but that’s not always helpful. maybe that’s your style, especially if you enjoy rewriting your notes all pretty and more successfully when you get home. i am not that girl.

more notes does not always equal better! it’s good for you to listen actively, selecting what is important and what is not. i take very thorough notes. i take a lot of notes. if you need notes for a missed class, i. am. your. girl. that doesn’t mean i write out everything word for word. selecting details, clauses, and images really helps me to not only keep up, but also to memorize later. plus, when you’re typing, it’s easier to type all the words out without really processing the whole meaning. remember that dense notes are harder to study

finally, when you write by hand, you can get more creative with your style. occasionally, i’ll web notes out from one, rather than a traditional outline, bc it makes more sense for the topic

it also helps my anxiety! so much! if i force myself to take great in depth notes, then my mind has to dedicate more brain space to the task at hand than to my anxieties.

stick to one of these though. it really sucks to get into a test and realize you didn’t study half of your notes bc you forgot half were on your laptop. it’s awful lol.

if you use a laptop, get used to how it works first. do u know how much i resent trying to switch from a bullet that is under other bullets (like this one, not filled in) to a main point bullet (the ones filled in). it can be so confusing. also make sure you use a program you like. you can take directly into documents, but i find that i really love evernote, as i can make notebooks for classes, stacks of notebooks for my college, and that i can tag notes with specific classes and topics.

if you’re on paper, for fuck’s sake, divide your notebook into sections for classes. keep it all together. those notebooks with handy dandy dividers are so helpful, and they keep you from carrying around 5 notebooks at once.

i wouldn’t worry too much about highlighters and such in class. there’s just so much going on then. save highlighting and color coding for later, and count it as studying.

don’t worry about traditional outlining styles, with roman numerals or whatever. i take notes very simply. bullets/dashes, subnotes under a broad note.

do it how it makes sense to you! maybe that includes different bullet styles, different places for different types of information (on a simple level, i start writing chapter numbers and titles as far to the left as i can go, over the margins, in bold and capital letters. i also usually go over these later in a certain color marker)

in some classes it is helpful for me to write the topic along the top of the page in a highlighter (color coding is lovely) the main idea/topic for each page. the classes this was most obviously helpful in were astronomy (COMETS or BLACKHOLES etc) and shakespeare (MUCH ADO ACT 2 or ROMEO etc)

it’s easiest to just note page numbers of referenced complex diagrams, as they are usually in your reading or accessible online

your style might look different in each class. whatever works.

note everything (everything) your professor writes on the board. if it’s important enough for your professor to write it, it’s probably important enough for you to write it.

note examples only if it’s helpful for your memory. however, make light note of things like famous people and their science/psych experiments. but in math and such, note! the! examples! and! reasons! will help you so much.

examples that have emotion, imagery, or sound are going to be more helpful. applicable examples are most helpful. good professors will lecture you accordingly. lazy ones will not.

star anything that the professor stresses or hints will be tested. anything that they say is a major theme or whatever.

note main ideas/points/themes, definitions, conclusions,

use your tests to help you figure out what you need to know. ask questions about the tests too. in every class i’ve taken, i’m totally shocked at how willingly people ask about exam format and how willingly the professor will tell us how it will work. they want you to succeed.

people learn differently! i suggest taking notes in class and later adding touches that help you. count it as study time too. a warm up, if you will.

if you’re visual, this might include highlighting, color coding, drawing diagrams, etc.

if you’re an auditory learner, reading the notes out loud and organizing them accordingly, as well as making up rhymes, rhythms and such, might help you. some auditory learners actually like to record lectures and listen to them later.

if you learn best through movement, rewriting or making flashcards will be great for you.

sometimes professors go really. fuckin. fast. why. idk? but

dont be afraid to ask them to go back a slide bc i guarantee, you will be the class hero for asking

develop a little bit of shorthand. sometimes i end up using initials, arrows, abbreviations… this is where i got “bc” and “thru” and “u” and such. lol. also, list things vertically, rather than using commas and “and/&/+) it’ll be more clear later

some professors you literally cannot take notes on. it sucks. you’re going to need to do the readings and pick their brains on how the test will be to figure out how to prepare. take home tests are your best friend. thank god for them. seriously. get your butt to church and do some worshipping.

if your professor puts powerpoints online, save the powerpoints, ya never know.

look at inspiration if you want, but remember that notes on studyblr are usually copied from class notes. if you’re too focused on how pretty your notes are, good luck to you

finally, the day before an exam, i review my notes that i have (hopefully) been studying. i like to make a one page cheat sheet / study guide on everything i didn’t remember, leaving out everything i understand, memorized, or want to disregard.

reading notes:

ima be real and tell you i hardly ever do reading unless i will be tested on it in class in multiple choice. and im an english student. ye i suck, i know. i dont condone shirking the system but u know what, reading shakespeare or 18th century lit literally makes me want to kill myself. so, im a senior in college, and have barely ever done the reading for a class. the thing is, if you do it right, anything is better than just reading the words on the page and not getting the meaning. dont be a reading zombie. read actively, even if it’s not the actual reading. doing this, i have a 3.9 gpa. so. there’s hope for us yet.

first of all, yall need to do your damn reading. idc how. but due to the fact that a test will be multiple choice, essay answer, a presentation, or a paper, you’re going to not love pulling nothing out of your ass. can be done tho. just be fake deep.

that being said, i’m writing a lot below, but the reality is that if it’s lit, your notes dont have to be longer than a sentence. if it’s a textbook, more.

the same formatting question comes into play here, except it’s should you take notes in your book or in a notebook?

listen i’m always going to be pro notebook, pro physically writing it out as it helps me really get the information into my head, rather than more passively highlighting

i tend to do both, if im willing to mark up a book. i underline and highlight things that stick out to me, and i write them down as well. sometimes when reading literature/essays, if i know the contextual/meaning notes will be interesting to me later, i will copy notes both into my notebook and also less in depth onto post it notes (which also make sweet little flashcards btw), which i will stick into the passage. this is so helpful when a) im reading it again later and b) when we are discussing a passage in class

buy used books. it’s cheaper. until it happens to u, u do NOT UNDERSTAND how EXCITING it is to get a book that has highlights and underlines in it ALREADY. DUDE. my work is basically DONE for me. now take that lightly, bc often different ppl will highlight different pieces of information. however, it is helpful.

look up summaries. do not simply rely on cliffsnotes and sparknotes, esp since professors are very aware of these. google “title of book, summary, chapter notes, whatever youre looking for” and use the blog posts, the book reviews, the papers that come up. does this method probably take a bit longer? maybe? but it’s easier on my tired brain.

if you don’t have time to read your textbook one day and really want to, read the introduction and the conclusion to the chapter, or the first and last sentences to the paragraphs. it’s not great, but it’s something.

like your lectures, note definitions, conclusions, and helpful examples, as well as people and dates. if i’m reading literature and i’m deciding to be a smart student i will keep several logs as well. these logs will make it so. easy. to study for your exam:

updated character lists, including name, relationships, and anything defining and important

scene/chapter summaries, just a sentence summarizing what happened where

any quotes or themes that stand out

i highly highly highly recommend getting your hands on a copy of the well educated mind for note taking on a range of genres. this is what i had to use through high school and while it’s involved, it’s incredibly helpful.

if you’re going to have to cite your notes, note the page number in the margin every time you flip the page

the biggest issue i have with reading is when and where to do it. before or after class? always ask your professor if they do not tell you. where in your notebooks? i always do it on the next blank page bc leaving space stresses me the fuck out. make notes on the top of your pages of corresponding lectures/readings.

for both lectures and readings i really really really suggest either having something to drink or something to snack on (think fruit, loose nuts, m&ms. small loose things rather than things u bite? idk they just last longer?)

okay i hope this was somewhat helpful even tho it’s an incredibly longwinded post. it seems like a lot, but the reality is that while i take a lot of notes, i don’t make them complicated, i don’t have rules, i just do what feels right in the moment. they’re not at all stressful. just take it easy and do whatever works for you :)

What makes me happy about them:

that it would take very little adjustment to make them canon

the height difference

kate is so so protective over claire (kate being protective over other women is legit one of my fave things about kate)

a few days into the crash, the first time claire has ever interacted with kate and she correctly guesses that she’s a gemini and that she’s “restless” and “passionate”. A. great observation skills and B. THATS GAY!!!!

THEY’RE LEGIT CANON GONNA RAISE A SON TOGETHER (two sons, if you include my david austen theory)

that they triggered each other’s memories in limbo. that is genuinely one of the best writing decisions ever, like it’s impressive. whoever decided that they would remember together (instead of the expected jack/kate, and charlie/claire - which happens later because MULTIPLE SOULMATES) is a fucking genius. as a writer, audience member and a sapphic, i fucking applaud you

oh and that their connecting scene was the birth of aaron. such an important event to both of them. and it’s kinda foreshadowing at how they’re gonna be mums together

the earliest sci team shippy post i made, that i could find, is like from 2013. so maybe during my first watch? or shortly after. somewhere there

my thoughts:

okay so i’ve thought about this and i’ve realised that sci trio shipping is beloved as a concept, especially by me. whilst in canon, this supposed team doesn’t do a lot of teaming. basically my imagination has built them up to be more than what they actually are. and not just in a romantic way. they’re more friends in my head than in the actual show. it’s a tad disappointing actually. see, in the show the science team (the whole thing) is barely a thing. they drop out the sky, the show tries to convince they’re untrustworthy, and then sorta forgets they’re meant to be like colleagues and friends? or at least doesn’t pay attention to that

(miles is given no reactions to char and dan’s deaths. which is FUCKED. i blame writing and direction because no fucking way is this ken leung’s fault. i also blame time constraints which is the biggest reason for lack of sci team stuff)

the dynamic most focused on is dan and charlotte (ah, love..). so throwing miles in there is wishful thinking (i love miles) on my part. because interactions between dan/miles and miles/char in canon? little and none, in that order

but the IDEA is nice

i’m in love with IDEA of these things:

two nerds and a “jeez these nerds” guy (like he isn’t a ghostbusters fan)

a polite timid nerd, a loud passionate nerd and a snarky sardonic cynic

two sciences and a magic

miles being annoyed by, slightly jealous of and wanting in on dan/char

sweet dan in love with people with “bad attitudes” (his words. translation: okay i love you but you’re being bitchy right now and it’s not helping)

and basically i use their personalities (or exaggerated versions of such. espech with charlotte) to project this relationship upon them

TL;DR: barely any sci team interactions in canon, but i adore the ship anyways

in general, it feels good? and like theres a lot i can do with it. like i’ve said, i love the concept of their dynamic. like, putting these personalities together is fun!

miles uses his powers and dan is immediately on board which means either miles told him on the boat or dan just takes miles at his word without hesitation. both are very plausible and also great

oh and my gosh, my fave thing? these people had possibly months on a boat together off screen. we didn’t get like, any sci team content on screen but thank you for that fanfic/imagination fuel, writers

none of them moved on in the finale which gives me a place to ship them… so basically they’re only shippable outside of the island… huh

char and miles were friends in limbo (thank heavens for small miracles) and thats a great concept. and it also means with char meeting dan in the finale, the TRIANGLE IS COMPLETE. THEY MAY NOW JOIN

that thing dan does where he touches/pets everybody near him? yeah, does that with miles, which isn’t remarkable. miles, like char, doesn’t seem to mind or flinch. which is interesting cuz you’d think miles would react to that. true none of the characters react to dan’s petting (???how) but idc

dan rans to char, pets her hair, face and arms and asks if she’s alright. miles, who is standing near by, says “i’m okay, too”. that sounds like something i would write for them but that actually happened in the show

i like the idea that dan/char (and later sawyer/juliet) make miles reluctantly realise he does want love in his life, which leads to miles/richard one day. this has nothing to do with anything in the show. legit all of that sentence is based on headcanons. and thats a summary of shipping dan/char/miles

i have this headcanon that miles is cynical about love (and relationships and romance) cuz like, due to his powers, he grew up with this fucked up perception of death. and throughout he’s seen people absolutely devastated about losing a loved one. this includes dan losing char, sawyer losing jules, and miles himself losing his mum. basically love hurts and he’s decided that pain isn’t worth the temporary amount of happiness. i imagine miles’ bad attitude towards life is caused by this way of thinking. we’re all gonna die, so why bother? only possessions stay so $$$$

now, sci team content is like, none but i’ve noticed a trend among fandom… their personalities being flanderized a tad too much. and yeah i do that too but i mean

dan being innocent, naive and humourless. we have no reason to assume the first two and fuck no he is humourless. dan has funny lines, he’s just subtle. innocent and naive? maybe kinda. i personally portray dan as innocent and naive in COMPARISON to char & miles (and most other characters). like, the vanilla to their kinky. but again, just by comparison. he’s not totally oblivious. plus he’s a quick learner and can pick up context. i know this all comes from him being so nonthreatening (also it’s a symptom of woobifying. and is also very mildly ableist in this context)

char being a constantly angry shrill bitch. i’m most annoyed by this one. i have some words about this. yes, a couple of times char got angry/bitchy. and it stuck out to people because she’s a woman. as somebody who has analysed like, every moment she’s been on screen, lemme tell you: she is not constantly angry. in fact, when i needed a cap of her looking angry for an art thing, IT WAS GENUINELY HARD TO FIND ONE. char is also very nice to the survivors until they start being mean to her. also she got shot in the chest, i’d be annoyed too. but the most part, char is actually rather pleasant. she’s just… loud. and has a bit of temper. but most of her screentime is with dan, so for the most part she’s soft and sweet with him. because love. i’m annoyed by all this because to this day, within fandom, char is remembered as the angry bitch who died of nosebleeds. fuck y’all, she’s a passionate, polyglottal, determined nerd with a shorter than average fuse and whom loves daniel faraday and chocolate. i know she didn’t get a lot as a character but being remembered for a trait that doesn’t even describe her doesn’t help. like, yeah, my section of the fandom has her be a chocolate obsessed mega trekkie who’s super kinky. is it self-indulgent? fuck yeah (and im proud) but it’s better than seeing her as a constant bitch because she got justifiably angry a few times

miles as a constant deadpan snarker. okay i see where this comes from, my brain does it too, but miles is not daria. he has tones and inflections. when he isn’t resting grump face, he’s quite emotive. also he has feelings. inside he is very sad. also he cares about his friends. basically he’s not always deadpan. most importantly, miles is an asshole. yes. but he’s not an ASSHOLE. you get me? like, he’s a snarky dick to people but he’s not actually genuinely a bad mean person. this is kinda the point of his character. like his snark is a defense mechanism for his issues. miles would never be an actual (and ableist) cunt to say, hurley or dan. he just has issues connecting with people due to his powers and internal conflict

basically:

dan isn’t a delicate perfect flower of innocence, char isn’t angry all of the time and being a bitch isn’t her entire character, and miles is actually (eventually) a good person who cares and emotes. i’ve seen ken’s face do things, ya know

and in fic, as with anything, i’d like it to be in character. and like, boat times, limbo times, it’s all good. have it anyways. also i’ve found like zero fic

87: what are some movies you think everyone should watch at least once in their lives?- i've seen a ton of movies dude. i think spirited away or kiki's delivery service, or princess mononoke. ghibli movies w strong female leads. howl's moving castle too but it does focus more on romance. i should reread the book

90: talk about your one of you favorite cities.- seattle just really resonates w me and the more i talk about it the stupider it sounds. but i have been to quite a few cities, DC, atlanta, Tallahassee, miami, san diego, vegas, the list goes on. none of them made me feel the way seattle does. maybe bc i went alone? maybe the time period that i went? some of the memories attached to the city kind of suck now, lol, but still rly important to me

100: if you were presented with two buttons, one that allows you to go 5 years into the past, the other 5 years into the future, which one would you press? why?- FIVE YEARS INTO THE PAST and five years ago is a rly good time to go back to!!! i was 20 and going through suchhhhh a bad break up but i wish i could have gotten up and been a bad bitch sooner lol i love the stuff i experienced that year, went to my first edc and whatnot. 2013 was rough on me but i pushed through it! 2014 i made some bad choices that i would change, 2015 wan alright but i can do it better and i'm not even sure what 2016 was. i would have started teaching sooner had i known it was something i could do i think. i would have worked harder and been more responsible especially financially, though tbh i did pretty well. i'd just do adulthood a lot better and start off a lot stronger. I WOULD REDO THAT LOCKHEED INTERVIEW AND ROCK THE SHIT OUT OF IT.
