Qui gon would've been so proud to see his once so impulsive and feisty padawan a menace to his nerves, becoming the orders greatest pride.
Tumblr media
Their most reliable jedi and litteral incarnation of the ultimate jedi. One of the most wise and powerful masters in the entire order at his time and a member of the high council, a victorious war hero and General. Respected and admired, someone the other knights and younglings go to for advice, to hear all his teachings, practics and advices from his experiences, the other masters seeking his opinion on important matters from time to time. The very first jedi to kill a sith in 1000 years. Yes the pure source of the light side of the force itself.

‘Luke takes after Anakin!’ ‘Luke takes after Padme!’ You’re both wrong. Luke takes after Qui Gon.

I've been destroyed so so will you:
10 years later and Obi-Wan is still having nightmares about Anakin's death.
The first thing he does when he wakes up is reach out to Qui-Gon--but he doesn't get an answer. He feels so desperately alone, clearly still blaming himself for everything.
Bail calls him out on this when he's begging him to save Leia, and the fear in Obi-Wan's eyes when he responds, "What if I can't save her?" is for her father, not just for her.
Both times, when talking with Owen and Bail, Obi-Wan holds their gazes--but as soon as they say Anakin's name, he can't anymore, and he has to look away. He visibly retreats and is destabilized by that name, which makes Owen's accusations all the more brutal.
He remembers the exact spot he buried the lightsabers. His next to Anakin's, buried together in the same coffin box. His face when he sees them both carries a decade of grief.
I had also thought the friend that Obi-Wan told Leia she reminded him of was Anakin at first, but then he said "she," and I was disappointed, because I thought he meant Satine when it should have been one of Leia's parents. But I just realized it was one of her parents--it was Padme.
Using the Force seems to cause Obi-Wan pain after refraining for so long (perhaps lending some truth to Leia's assertion that he "can't"); but it's even more painful because the first time he uses it after killing Anakin all those years ago is to save Anakin's daughter.
Obi-Wan never introduced himself to Haja, and if he did, he would have done so as Ben; he's still trying to leave his past and his identity as a Jedi behind. But Haja recognizes him for the Jedi he is (and was), and so he uses his true name."You're not alone, Obi-Wan." How much those few words mean is written all across Obi-Wan's face.
Obi-Wan, who in all his years has always been able to keep himself under control, even right after Anakin's death, literally has a panic attack when he learns that Vader is still alive. It turns Haja's comforting words into a cruel irony, a reality so overwhelming that he's nearly killed. He can't even compose himself on the ship, with Leia standing right in front of him.
He dares to reach out into the Force, terrified of what he will see and what he has done. And Obi-Wan finds him, and feels nothing but hatred--and still calls him "Anakin."

A happier galaxy where the disaster lineage is somewhat less on fire constantly and senior padawan Obi-wan has developed a fixation on Mandalorians:
Sometimes Feemor regretted just how much he had given away when he had spent 5 expensive months bribing a traumatised Obi-wan to call him brother when he was 14. His dignity, for one, his access codes and shadow cloaking techniques, another. So he had a very dignified reaction when he was awoken to the shine of his younger brother's eyes in the dark at the foot of his bed. "I wou-stop screaming it's just me-I would like a Mandalorian. How do I procure one?"
"How the fuck should I know?"
Obi-wan scowled as if Feemor was being difficult, he wasn't, he wasn't quite awake enough for that yet. "You're a shadow, you're supposed to know things."
Ah, if being a shadow granted you the secrets of the universe instead of just a great many planetary governments, Feemor wouldn't spend so much time wondering what dark rituals Dooku had committed to result in Qui-gon Jinn. (He already knew what regular rituals Qui-gon had committed to result in Obi-wan)
"I know that I'm about to punt you out of my room right now."
"...My birthday is coming up, I believe I deserve compensation for all the traumas."
Obi-wan's eyes were very big now. Feemor sighed. He flopped back down into bed. He resisted the urge to pull his blankets back up and roll over. 'Oh sure when it's time to see mind healers everything's fine but now-'
"Shouldn't you be asking Master then?"
"Master would not approve of how I plan to use the Mandalorian."
He squinted at Obi-wan for a long moment. Obi-wan stared back. He did some quick mental maths and tried not to feel old. Eh. Fine. Feemor swung his legs out of bed. "You had me at 'Master wouldn't approve'."
"Do you think I could get one by walking into little Keldabe and asking very nicely?"
As it turns out, yes he could. A few too many in fact, apparently Jedi, their ancestral enemy, in the Mando district attracted attention, who knew? Feemor knew, Feemor would have known if only he had been properly awake when this semblence of a plan was proposed. He stalked through the cantina towards Obi-wan who was leaning slightly forwards against a pillar, ah...speaking, to a Mandalorian with painted orange armour while surrounded by a larger crowd of Mandos. At least they seem mostly amused. He ignored the youngers squawk as he yanked the back of his robes so that he moved away from the Mandalorian and spun him around.
"You cannot solve centuries of animosity by batting your eyelashes."
"I'm not batting my eyelashes " Obi-wan sniffed," I'm shaking my ass, there's decidedly more effort involved."
"I miss when I was an only child." Feemor sighed deeply. He used the force to scruff the neck of Obi-wan's robes and dangle him slightly in the air. He ignored the shouting from beside him and bowed politely to the staring Mandos. "My apologies for the disturbance, this will not happ-" He considered his brother who was now yelling out his personal comm code with a wink. " Please excuse us, this very probably will happen again, we shall workshop it. May the force be with you all."
I don't have a fully planned AU but it is Codywan!!! cause I love those bitches but have some more dialogue I came up with for this AU. I'm imagining them both as like 20-23, Obi's close to knighthood. He's still a padawan for this because I think him causing Qui-gon headaches is funny. Feemor fully thinks this complicated courtship dance Obi's created is funny, he likes studying his little brother like a bug, he just wasn't prepared for him to just waltz into little kelbade and start hitting on people, though he really should have been.
Hand wavy timeline with Jaster alive but the clones are still clones, Jango was kidnapped and held in stasis or something, Jaster claimed them as Mandos. This is really just about Obi's first and biggest diplomatic achivement being friendly Jedi-Mando relations purely cause he was in his thot era. This also somehow saves the galaxy from the sith.
I like to imagine that Cody's brothers recorded that little exchange between Fee and Obi on their helmets and uploaded it online where it went viral on MandoNet before going viral galaxywide because wait holy shit is that a Jedi saying that????. Qui-gon gets called in for a very weird meeting where the council's like ok so the entire holonet has seen your padawan being horny on main but also this is like the biggest jump in our diplomatic relationship with the Mandos in centuries so like can we keep this up somehow? This results in Obi-wan being holonet famous, first through vode recordings but then he starts a space tumblr and twitter account and he's famous now. Then his friends and other jedi start accounts because wait we're allowed to do that? and those become big as well and this is literally the best PR the jedi have had in hundreds of years. the holonet loves them. the sith are fuming.
Obi-wan, scoffing: What were they gonna do? Shoot me? Feemor: Yes. Obi-wan: I don't believe in blasters. Bly: ...like as a concept...? Obi-wan: No, spiritually.
Obi-wan: I'm sure there's a nice Mandalorian we can find for you Feemor: I'm not sure those 2 words belong together Obi-wan: No of course not, we can't find a nice one, then they'd be all alone, we need to find an absolute bastard of one so that you two match :)
Obi-wan: Oh so Master gets to take in pathetic life forms but I don't? This one's already domesticated! Wolffe: Debatable. Feemor: Cody's a person! Not a stray tooka! Obi-wan: Master takes in stray people all the time! That's how he got me!
Qui-gon: How do you explain this behaviour Padawan ? Obi-wan: The force pushed me towards the Mandalorians Master, it was quite insistent on me developing better relations with them given our difficult history. Feemor: Fascinating, please do elaborate, I'd love to hear the theological implications of a force-assigned kink.

So, I fucking loved The Living Force, I found it to be one of the most Jedi-positive books out there, and look I can't guarantee you that you'll feel the same way, this book only gets the Lumi stamp of approval, not the "you'll definitely love this as a fan of the Jedi" stamp of approval, so take that as you will. But this book took such care to give the Jedi Council members different fun personalities, that even when Saesee was a total grump, he was a funny grump and one who clearly dove right into helping people, that even when it was Qui-Gon who issued the challenge, the book showed it as an excuse for the Jedi Council members to take some time off to go do what they were choosing to do, that their good acts were their own, not Qui-Gon's. This book took such care to give moments to the Jedi discussing why they put their efforts where they did and showed that they all loved helping people, none of them felt this was beneath them for a moment, only that they felt they could help more people by doing their regular Council duties most of the time. The discussions they had weren't about castigating themselves, but about discussing where their balance should be, that their work as a Council was always seen as necessary, that they very much did need to look towards the future, but that they as individual Jedi sometimes needed a reason to do something more individual. Because of that good-faith feeling in the narrative, other things also came off really good-naturedly, like Ki-Adi-Mundi often was stilted or just did not understand the point of some of this ridiculousness, but he was never painted as uncaring, but instead very much came off to me like he was on the spectrum and that that was fine, it was part of the feeling of how each of these characters is allowed a different personality and allowed to see duty and the Force and their lives differently, that there was emphasis put on how the Council prized those differences because it helped make them stronger.
And the author clearly had an absolute blast writing Yarael and Even Piell especially, they were hilariously fun and there is SO MUCH FUNNY BANTER, like there's so much friendly teasing between characters, there's so many little moments that show these people care about each other and have fun with each other, that there's no doubt that this Council is full of life and light. I also really enjoyed Mace and Depa's dynamic, that it's clear he cared about her and still worried about her, but he trusted her to take care of herself, that Depa's part of the storyline was a bit more subdued in a lot of ways, but she was thoroughly competent and trusted to understand what she was getting into. Mace does fuss over her a bit in the end, but she's strong enough to stand up for herself and he takes it in stride because she's a Jedi Master now and knows what she's doing, that she's trusted to be right about what's going on and how this should be handled, as well as her deep care for the people she gets involved with around her.
The only real heads up I would give (other than to caution that the opening chapters might make you side-eye a bit, but I ask a little patience with the book) is that it's in a specific worldbuilding genre, that it's not really about the spiritual aspect of the Jedi Order worldbuilding, but instead more about administrative worldbuilding and the action plot. But if you're into that (and I was so into that because I love worldbuilding detail!) and into the Jedi Council being hilarious and getting time to basically take a vacation, then I hope you'll enjoy this book with me, too. I know what the interview from the author said, but honestly I felt none of that with the book, it felt like a story that really understood the increasing complexity of the galaxy around them and that there weren't any easy answers, that the future does matter, even if so too does the present, that what the Council does as a Council is vital to the good work the Jedi Order does, but that this provides them with the breathing space to balance it with their own individual ways of being a Jedi, which is simply giving them some breathing room and letting them flourish on their own!

Finished Reading Padawan
These are just some little facts/snippets throughout the book I really liked, really along the lines of temple life.
Spoilers for Padawan below!
┉┉┉◤▲◥┉┉┉
Obi-Wan tugs on his padawan braid when he is anxious
Bolla Ropal (the Jedi that was killed guarding the holocron in TCW) was Obi-Wan's childhood frienemy. The two played pranks on each other.
Obi-Wan paces outside Qui-Gon's chamber doors as he's trying to figure out what to say what he needs to.
Obi-Wan feels most at peace, most calm, when he is practicing lightsaber forms and says he could do it all day and never bore of it.
Jedi specialize in certain fields, such as communication with animals, and if such a conflict arises based in that Jedi's field, they are sent to help
Jedi who are ready to take have a padawan meditate and the force guides them to who they're meant to train, leading to shared interests.
The temple has several dining halls. There is a padawan meal hall and therefore one for the other ranks. They offer such a variety of food Obi-Wan said one could always find something new to try. And I could've made this up but I'm also pretty sure they said the dining hall for padawans was almost always open, so one was always be able to get a meal.
Some Jedi Masters put a table and chairs in their rooms so they can share a meal with their padawan in their personal space
Qui-Gon doesn't even have an extra chair in his room.
Ships can be requested/reserved down in the hangar. A padawan is allowed to do this without approval from their master (Obi-Wan is told by Qui-Gon to do do but is not directly confronted when he does it alone).
Talking and communicating with animals is actually one of the harder skills to learn and master as a Jedi, so many opt not to. Meaning Ezra's ability to communicate with animals as well as he does is not something all Jedi could do, especially for his age
Nautolans, can live outside of water (we do know this) but since they are an aquatic species, there is a constant strain on their gills and results in them being in pain if out of water for too long.
Obi-Wan thinks Kit Fisto is really strong, he notes Fisto does not seem to be affected by this.
Obi-Wan notes some of his padawan friends have dabbled in physical relationships. But he sees it has an obstacle not as a temptation, feeling that, kissing for example, was a betrayal of himself and the Jedi. He wonders if he'd ever get to a point where it does not feel like that.
┉┉┉◤▲◥┉┉┉
Honestly this book was a really cute read and the planet it takes place on was very captivating. I really liked how Kirsten White writes Qui-Gon too and her references that any prequel fan would love catching.

WITH MY WHOLE HEART
Vaderwan au wip. Attempt number 2
Tumblr media
(a reminder)
Maybe I'm just overthinking it? Please let me know?
🐰❤️🐰❤️
Anakin put his knife away, looking at the crude little heart with an A + O in the middle of the old oak tree in the emperors courtyard. He looked to the other little boy beside him and gave a smile taking his hand.
“Do you have to go, Anakin?” Obi-Wan lower lip was wobbling as he looked down holding Anakin’s hand tightly, desperately trying not to cry now. “I know its a great honor to be chosen as a page, under my uncle Qui-Gon-Jinn. But I’m going to miss you.” Obi-Wan looked into Anakin’s blue eyes.
“I do, I can’t be a servant forever. Mom needs me, plus when I come back as a knight? We can be together.” Anakin excitedly explained to the other nine year old boy. “Don’t cry Obi, it won’t be that long.” He encouraged.
Obi-Wan wasn’t a crying type of child, he only cried when something was desperately upsetting. “Bu-but, You’ll have to become a Darth knight! So much so that the emperor’s hunting hounds. The most elite of his knights.” Obi-Wan was balling using his long sleeves to wipe his eyes, the way all children did.
Anakin hugged Obi-Wan tightly helping the prince sooth himself.
“Then that’s what I’ll do, I’ll become a sith. Gane my title as a Darth and come back to you.” Anakin pressed their foreheads together. “I promise.” He vowed to the little prince with the copper hair.
Chewing his lip for a moment, Obi-Wan locked eyes with Anakin. “You’re supposed to seal promises with a kiss.” Obi-Wan informed with that know it all prince tone of voice. “I promise that I will wait for you Anakin.” Obi-Wan gave Anakin a simple child like kiss as he ripped a button off his soft green play dress.
A copper button with a running rabbit was place into Anakin’s hand.
“I promise” Anakin held button close to his chest….
That little copper button had been with Anakin, now Darth Vader for seventeen years.
Vader had the button on a thin chain around his neck, the running rabbit that was impressed onto the copper was hardly there. Worn down from years of him wearing the button. It was hard to believe how small the button was, or how big it used to feel in his hand.
He couldn’t bring himself to get rid of the copper, or smith it into something else. Because every time he looked at the little round copper, he would think of the smell of jasmine. Being in the shade of that old oak tree, and the sweet little kiss that he had shared with Prince Obi-Wan Kenobi.
In a way? Vader considered that kiss to be the end of his boyhood.
After that little kiss, life as a knights page started. Magics, saber training, battles, negations, dragon taming, the loss of his right arm, War and glory.
The emperors attention and approval.
Anakin had earned his title as a Darth, one of the three hunting hounds of Emperor Sidious.
His favorite.
Anakin Skywalker was now Darth Vader, rider of excautor the largest of dragons in the empires control.
Vader’s control.

Miss Kit as mistress of bikin aus how funny would it be if canon ahsoka tried to change events and ended up in a time period where obikin are adults and she's behind their first meeting only to discover they just immediately are Like That and want to bang. All your aus where they meet as adults and are Like That inspired me but I couldn't help thinking what poor canon ahsoka would make of her master and grandmaster being such openly horny messes around each other
ok lol BUT what if it’s like. Time traveler Ahsoka who like…..has an instant reset button a la Michael in the Good Place, and has gotten it in her head that the galaxy is really better off if Anakin and Obi-Wan never meet because even in the canon timeline and with a wife, anakin was weird about obi-wan & even with a whole Jedi order that he adored, obi-wan was weird about anakin
so it’s really for the best if they never ever even meet and Ahsoka is going to make that happen!! In her first attempt, she decides to save qui-gon so that he raises anakin as his padawan instead but that just makes obi-wan and anakin even WEIRDER about each other for some reason??? Anakin grows up wanting obi-wan’s approval more than anything else in the entire galaxy and obi-wan takes 2 different padawans just so he never has to go on missions with his old master and anakin, and the galaxy STILL falls apart
Reset button, ok. So. Ahsoka buys baby anakin and Shmi from slavery and frees them. Years later, she’s aghast as she watches smuggler Anakin cozy up to promiscuous slut Jedi Master Obi-Wan even though his padawan, a baby Ahsoka, is RIGHT THERE. After one night together in some backwater cantina, they become weird about each other AGAIN. Sidious finds Anakin because Obi-Wan “””reforms””” him and gets him a job in the Senate (so they can more easily carry on their stupid affair) and Sidious convinces Anakin that Obi-Wan could never really love him because he loves the Jedi Order too much….Anakin Falls, galaxy destroyed—RESET BUTTON
Ok. Ahsoka manipulates it so that Obi-Wan is sent to the Agricorps and not kidnapped and enslaved so he just becomes a farmer instead. Good. Safe. He’s happy or he will be — ok. Oh shit anakin gets sent to the AgriCorps because he’s too angry and untrainable and now he’s meeting Obi-Wan who recognizes himself in this angry teenager and takes him under his wing and shit, now they’re being weird about each other — RESET BUTTON
ok!!!! Ahsoka convinces obi-wan’s parents to not give him to the Jedi Order. Instead, he’s raised as…huh. Prince of Stewjon? Ahsoka didn’t know that but that explains so much about obi-wan’s innate bitchiness and haughty eyebrow movements. Fine, that’s ok. Anakin doesn’t like royalty—no never mind, anakin LOVES royalty how could she forget that anakin married a former queen??? It takes one Jedi mission for padawan anakin to be head over heels for prince obi-wan and then suddenly he’s taking every possible mission to Stewjon he can to convince obi-wan to sleep with him oh NO obi-wan keeps rejecting him but Ahsoka recognizes that fond twinkle in his eyes as being the same way he looked at anakin in the original timeline they’re being WEIRD ABOUT EACH OTHER AGAIN. RESET BUTTON.
ok. Ahsoka KIDNAPS baby anakin to raise by herself in the corner of the galaxy where obi-wan and fate will never find them. baby anakin’s first word is inexplicably “obi”. Ahsoka knows how this is going to go. RESET BUTTON.

What you are capable of
Anakin X Platonic Padawan Reader
Summary: The reader is given a mission from Palpatine to negotiate air space access. It's a big trap to get her killed off to pull Anakin closer to the dark side.
Warnings: non-graphic mentions of rape and assault - not to the reader. Anakin freaking out, murder, happy ending, big dad vibes, hurt comfort
Tumblr media
Being Anakin’s Padawan had meant that your Jedi journey had not been the usual sort. When Yoda had summoned you to the chancellor's office you weren't surprised. You got dressed and moved quickly not wanting to keep everyone waiting. What did surprise you was the absence of your master and Obi-Wan. Normally the three of you went everywhere together. You felt it was like being a family, in the darker parts of Anakin's mind you sensed he felt it was a kind of exile or alienation.
You felt uncomfortable being in the presence of so many powerful people without Anakin. Normally he would help you navigate these types of situations. You bowed and waited for them to speak first.
“Ah, lovely to see you dear!” The chancellor looked at you with a big smile on his face. Obi-wan and Anakin trusted him but he always made you feel strange. “We have a special task for you.”
“We need you to negotiate an air space passage with someone in the outer rim,” Windu spoke clearly but you could feel he didn't approve of this plan.
“Oh, I’m sure that won’t be an issue for us.”
“We all feel it would be best to send you in with a team of troopers. He has a bit of a history with Anakin.” You tried hard not to let your emotions bleed through. “Your language skills are a necessity for this mission, really there is no better person to send.”
You thought about it for a moment. Everything inside you was screaming not to do this, especially without Anakin’s approval.
“Help you must,” Yoda said nodding.
“Alright, thank you for the opportunity. I’ll go let Anakin know -”
“I’m afraid there isn't time, I will speak with your master as soon as he returns from his tasks.” Palpatine gave you a reassuring look and a soft smile. You nodded and Windu escorted you to the ship. As far as you knew Anakin was asleep in his quarters, you reached out your mind and tried to wake him up.
______________________________________________________________
Anakin was asleep. A rare occurrence these days. He could feel himself lying in the grass, wildflowers around him. The sun was shining on his face and the air was warm. Qui-gon and Obi-wan were laughing and he was very at peace. Anakin sat up when he felt you pressing into his mind. You were channeling all of your fear to him, pushing into his mind with as much force as you could.
He shot out of bed and tried to reach out to you. He could tell you weren't in your room, but that you had moved a far distance in a short span of time.
You were too far away.
Where the fuck did you go?
He threw his robes on quickly and ran out into the hall, Obi-Wan moved around the corner and greeted him with a concerned face.
“What’s wrong?” He asked grabbing Anakin’s shoulder
“Where the fuck is my Padawan?” He asked angrily.
He and Obi-Wan approached the council. Anakin knew he needed to control himself, but he could tell he was at his breaking point. They had no right to give you orders or send you anywhere without him, or his approval. You were tied to him, every move you made or any move the world made against you was his sole responsibility. Obi-Wan had his usual deep sense of calm surrounding him, Anakin wanted to shout at him for it.
“The chancellor insisted Anakin, you have to understand the importance of this trade route -” One of the Jedi masters tried to explain, but he could sense Windu’s discomfort and focused his attention on him.
“She’s with a whole crew of troopers. The chancellor was very clear he wanted her to be the one who made contact.” Windu finally broke.
“Who is she meeting with?” Obi-Wan asked in a casual voice.
“Orar Baize,” Windu answered and Obi-Wan clamped his hand on Anakin’s shoulder tightly. Anakin was tempted to hit him but felt slightly subdued by his master's energy. Making a scene here only meant it would be harder to go after you.
“When is she to return,” Obi-Wan asked seemingly unbothered by this information.
“If everything goes to plan, three days.” Windu said firmly.
“Thank you.” Obi-Wan directed Anakin to the door and they moved down the hallway quickly. Once in the elevator, Anakin was ready to explode.
“Don’t” Anakin pushed his master's hand away as Obi-Wan tried to help him. Rage and betrayal pulsed through him if he started to side with the council Anakin would kill him.
We need to get to a ship. Just keep it together till then.
His master's words felt like a cool cloth being pressed to his forehead. He could feel his walls slip a little and realized he was just as angry as Anakin.
We need to be practical if we are to reach her in time
For once Anakin wasn't annoyed with his master's reminder to be practical. He took a deep breath and felt his emotions focus.
They climbed into a two-seater and managed to slip away without too much attention being drawn to themselves. It wasn’t unusual for Anakin to take a fighter out for a ride.
He got the coordinates locked in and let the ship do its thing.
“We should have dealt with him after what he did to Master Kenau.” Anakin's voice was venomous and he felt Obi-Wan sigh.
“I agree. What he did and his reputation for collecting Jedi is unforgivable.” Obi-Wan nodded. Master Kenau, was badly assaulted years ago, Anakin found out and insisted they press the council to do something about him, but she refused. She wasn’t herself after that and Anakin felt her pain to this day.
“She’s just a kid. They sent a child into the hands of a rapist with a special appetite for Jedi.” Anakin had only reached this level of anger when he had the sand people incident. He tried to remember there was a lesson in all of that, how painful it was to tell Obi-Wan. Thinking of something happening to you erased all feelings of remorse or logic.
“The council has become more and more influenced by the politics of The Republic,” Obi-Wan said taking Anakin off guard. “It is not our place to be involved with these kinds of things.”
“What do we do about it?” Anakin asked genuinely curious about his master's stance.
“I get the feeling it will all fall into place after we get her back.” He said calmly.
“I didn’t think you would help,” Anakin said in a quiet voice, unsure if he wanted to discuss these issues now.
“Please, Anakin. The girl is like a granddaughter to me.” Obi-Wan chided.
That would make me your son, Anakin thought to himself. He held those words with him while they tried to catch up with you.
____________________________
You were starting to realize that this was a trap. Your stomach was right. You should have kicked and screamed and stalled till Anakin or Obi-Wan could get to you.
But here you were, alone. Clones were murdered in the landing bay, and you were in Orar’s office after taking out a bunch of droids. You had never met a species of his kind. He was large with mint green skin.
“What’s your name?” He asked with the smile of a predator. His teeth were long and pointed. You decided not to answer.
“Well, tiny Jedi. The Chancellor has held up his end of the bargain.” His eyes were dark and you stood there with good posture like Anakin had taught you. “Your life was traded for something of little value.” He was trying to get a rise out of you. But that’s what men like that fed on, he wanted you to argue your value. He wanted to watch you dance and react, wanted to feel your youth and belittle you.
“Come on little Jedi, Say something.”
“Something.” You said easily and his jaw clenched.
“Don’t make this difficult, it could be a nice time if you let it be.” You started to feel what he wanted and you fought harder than ever to keep your emotions closed off and contained.
“I think I should be leaving now.” You said diplomatically, you would try to walk out of here the Jedi way first.
“That’s not going to happen.” His body radiated a sick pleasure and you let it feed the anger in your chest the way Anakin showed you too.
__________________________________________
The sound of dueling rang through the landing bay as they moved through the bodies of clones and droids. Anakin moved quicker than he could ever remember moving in his life. They moved onto the top platform and watched you duel with Orar.
Anakin could tell you had been at it for a long while by this point. He watched as you defended yourself. He moved forward and Obi-Wan put a hand on his arm. Anger shot through him.
I had to watch you fight your first battle too
Obi-Wan’s voice ran through his mind, his hand still firm on Anakin's arm. He watched your ruthless form and could see the man faltering. He had taught you every form from the archives he could find. He wanted you to be the best Jedi he wanted you to be able to overcome all evil and triumph.
Did you teach her illegal forms?
Obi-Wan hissed. He watched you execute it perfectly, slicing through the man’s body twice before his body hit the ground. Blood sprayed and he watched you sink to your knees chest heaving.
Anakin rushed up to you picking you up as if his embrace could somehow stop the feelings that would eat into you. Your body shook hard and he took on all of your weight, picking you up properly. The three of you moved in silence back to the landing bay. He found a utility sink and put you down in front of him. He helped keep you up right and he washed your hands. Then he got the blood off your face and neck. Something he wished someone had done for him after the sand-people.
He carried you back towards the ship. Obi-Wan held his arms out towards Anakin, he could feel his master’s reluctance to hold the girl. He only shook his head and got into the passenger side.
He took his robe off and wrapped you in it. Your eyes were still closed tightly as your mind and body fought against each other for control.
______________
Obi-Wan watched as Anakin held you tightly. Your face pressed against his chest and his arms around you. He reflected on all of the times he wanted to hold Anakin just as tightly but didn't.  He could feel the struggle inside you to overcome the situation, to make peace with what you had been forced to do. Anakin was angrier than he had ever seen him before, but he also watched his Padawan try to control it more than ever before. Obi-Wan got them locked in on the path home, he put his hand on Anakin’s shoulder, glad that he accepted Obi-Wan’s help.
You need to clear your mind. It will be easier for her to process the feelings with your help.
He could feel Anakin’s usual annoyance at his advice. But then he could feel Anakin center himself and then slowly start to take on your emotions. Eventually, you stopped shaking, he could tell the two of you were talking.
He could also feel the dangerous bonds of attachment weaving around them. Something he realized he could only see because of his own attachment to Anakin.
He sighed. He felt they were so far off the path they should be on.
Tears fell down Anakin's cheeks as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head. They had been soldiers in this war for too long.
He knew Anakin wouldn't let this slide. He would be out for blood the second they reached Coruscant. Obi-Wan could hardly blame him, as the overwhelming anger was boiling in his own blood. Sacrificing a 15-year-old to such evils was unforgivable.

Obi-Wan was with you for most of the day. He spared with you and you wondered if he would talk about the forbidden forms you had used. You wanted to talk to him about it but you were worried he would be angry with Anakin. You hated it when they fought.
You were reluctant to sleep in your own bed. It's not that you regretted your actions you just felt overwhelmed by the feeling of killing someone. You knew the day would find you but the weight was relentless on your mind. You tried to revisit that ride home, sitting in his embrace. His love was an easy feeling to find in the bond between you now. You tried to hold it and breathe deeply when the memories would resurface.
Anakin had told you how to act over the next few days. You could feel his mind keeping tabs on you constantly. He told you to act normal and to tell him when they called upon you. You weren't allowed to leave the temple under any circumstances, keeping to your room and the training room.
“Master Obi-Wan.” You asked turning off your lightsaber, he did the same.
“Yes.” You could tell he knew what you wanted to talk about.
“I wanted to let you know that I tried to leave like a Jedi.” You took a deep breath. “I asked to leave, I tried to fight defensively. He- I -”
“I think you tried to fix the situation, and eventually realized the threat he posed was too large. You knew what he wanted to do to you and others. You did what you had to do. If I didn’t think it was right, I would have stepped in and handled it for you.”
“Why didn’t you?”
“Anakin and I needed you to see for yourself what you are capable of. I do wish that it could have been in a lesser conflict.” His eyes were empathetic and you wanted to hug him.
“You don’t think it makes me a sith?” You whispered.
“No” He laughed. “I don’t think the Sith could take you, even if they tried their hardest. Your heart is pure, more pure than most.”
“Anakin said that’s why I need to learn everything to be prepared.”
“He feels that you won’t lose yourself or be tempted by the power.” Obi-Wan made a face. “He worries about where the war is headed, above all Anakin wants you to survive.”
You nodded thinking about your master's faith in you.
_
The call came sooner than you thought. Obi-Wan was in a meeting with Anakin and you were reading in your room.
Master - you reached out
What - Anakin responded right away
The chancellor has summoned me
Don’t leave your room - his voice was grave and you sat on your bed waiting for Anakin.
He was there in moments, just long enough for the anxiety to take hold in your stomach. He told you to walk in there and listen and be polite, panic overtook you when you realized he wouldn't be following you in.
Master - you reached out hesitantly with your mind and your fingers curled into the arm of his robe.
Just relay what he says to me
You nodded and walked out of the elevator and down the long hall to his office.
“Ah!’ Palpatine's eyes looked you over. “Thank you for coming to meet with me on such short notice!” His smile was wide and you wanted to hit him.
“I understand that there was a complication with the mission, I just wanted to see how you were feeling about everything.” he tried to look understanding and you wondered what Obi-Wan had told the council.
“Fine.” You gave a little shrug.
“I understand that our contact had attacked you. I just wanted to apologize for what happened dear.” You watched him closely but didn't accept his apology wanting him to continue. “I did hear that your exceptional skills with a lightsaber saved you. I had no idea you were so gifted with all the forms.”
“It’s complicated. But I’d rather be prepared for what's out there.”
“Exactly! My thoughts exactly.” He looked so happy. “There is so much untapped power out there. Something I think you can feel quite well.” He looked at you expectantly. As if he was waiting for you to get the secret meaning of his words.
“You and Anakin are both so special. I think that the three of us should work closer together in the future.” He nodded. Suddenly you caught on to what he was saying.
“Sir, not to overstep -”
“Please, child. We are friends.” He smiled again, his eyes hungry.
“Well, there is a lot of power, I feel angry that The Order keeps it from me. There is a war out there and we need more than -” You waved your hands around. “This. Something stronger.”
He looked positively deranged with joy.
“I know the ways beyond the order, I could teach you and your master.”
“What would you teach us?” You asked innocently.
“The true power of the force.”
“Like the dark side?” You tried to sound even more curious.
“Perhaps.” He nodded, but you could see in his eyes what he was. His eyes had changed with his excitement. Of course, he was at the center of everything.
Master, Palpatine is the sith
It only took a moment for Anakin to knock on the door. He opened it and smiled at Palpatine, and you felt his force presence push you down onto the red carpet. You let it push you down and hold you there. in a flash of a second everything had changed.
Before Palpatine could react you felt the Jedi storm the room. Anakin killed Palpatine and a strange feeling washed over the room. You reached for Obi-Wan and he let you hold on to his side, placing an arm around your shoulders.
“He was a mother-fucking sith.” Windu groaned. Yoda put his hands over this face. Anakin looked triumphant and gave you a big smile.
Fulfilled my prophecy. Now let's get out of here.
___________
Qui-Gon's force ghost finds Obi-Wan and puts them on the right path.
The Order being stupid and Obi-Wan finally siding with Anakin. them going into exile to learn from Qui-Gon and train you. Family vibes.
Anakin being more and more like your father. His love for you always being open and accessible as you navigate your own journey. Even when you are fighting you can reach out and feel it. When you get older and follow your calling into conflicts you can reach out and feel no matter how far away you are.
Just anything other than what happened in cannon.
Him finally falling for Padme and being anxious about your response to her. Them having the twins and him always refering to you as his eldest daughter.
Obi-Wan spoiling all three of the kids and always giving you advice when you didn't want to go to Anakin.

I think Jude Watson’s (almost wrote jude law ansdjkgmgm lol) novels have informed fanon for obi-wan’s youth so that he’s very angsty, has a thirst to prove himself / to prove he’s worthy of his place in the jedi order etc etc.
What do you think his canon youth was like? Because in canon he was chosen very young as a padawan right?
What youth do you think fits him best? How would write his youth if you could?
yeah a lot of the jedi apprentice books can really be explained within the context of the genre and target audience, and reflects more how YA stories with child heroes need negligent guardians in order to go on wildly dangerous adventures of their own. it also distorts the personality of obi-wan to fit inside that context and increase his relatable and vulnerable traits for insecure kids. i think even the novel padawan by white maintains this distortion, though it is more subtle.
how would i write it? i'd extrapolate from the phantom menace where obi-wan is said explicitly to focus on his anxieties (still learning to balance living in the present with planning the future) and shown to be eager for approval from the council. i would write him as very bright and earnest in his desire to do good and become a good jedi knight. he is not alienated from the order or at risk of being cast aside, he has the security of knowing his place among his family is not in danger of rejection. he wants to live up to the order.
basically, i think his sense of duty comes not out of fear, but out of love. that's the heart of him. he loves the order and loves the force, and he always has. he felts at home in the temple, had friends and went on adventures, confident enough in being safe that he felt comfortable to break rules. he trusted his guardians and his guardians took care of him. they were his family as much as they were his role models for a good life.
extrapolating back from his elder personality means drawing back a curtain of maturity and equanimity to a more raw and emotional child, less wise and more dramatic. i can see him being mischievous and always looking for adventure, bright, dramatic, and creative. i think there's a reason yoda was quite fond of him. i suspect he rebelled against qui-gon's rule breaking by becoming overly rule following for a period in his teens, but it was not in his nature since birth to be like that.
i'd drain off some of the YA melodrama and make him more a part of the order that raised him, connected and secure enough to be a bit rebellious and impetuous. he wanted to be a great knight, and trained hard and practiced hard to be the best he could be, but not out of insecurity that he's not good enough, as much as out of conviction he could do good and well. his friction with qui-gon arose from him trying to figure out how to think for himself, and know when rules are to be followed and when they are to be broken, not from qui-gon's negligence. there'd just be less angst in general, i think haha.

We all know that the Dooku-Qui Gon-Obi Wan-Anakin-Ahsoka-Sabine training lineage is the disaster lineage and the Mace-Depa-Kanan-Ezra is the shatterpoint lineage. May I submit for fandom approval calling the Luke-Leia-Ben-Rey-Grogu-Finn (Finn's a jedi in my heart ok?) lineage the "What's a jedi?" lineage. Only one of them arguably received formal jedi training and half of them learned what jedi were like last week.

Jealousy, Jealousy {Qui-Gon x Reader}
Summary: Qui-Gon is fed up with the way Anakin is acting towards you.
Warnings: jealousy. age gap (reader is in their 20s Qui-Gon is in his 40s), drabble, F! reader, implied dating between Qui-Gon x reader
Tumblr media
He knows that you only have eyes for him, so dedicated to him
Qui-Gon has to worry about the young cocky Jedis who try and woo you with their lightsaber tricks and abilities with the force
Anakin Skywalker is the worst culprit, always looking to you for approval in everything he does, trying to impress you
At first, Qui-Gon sees this as harmless, until Ani makes advances
It started with him bringing you flowers after missions, greeting hugs that lingered on too long for Qui-Gon's liking, and the fateful day Qui-Gon entered the temple library to see Ani watching you from afar
You are reaching for a book on the highest shelf and your skirt is rising dangerously high on your soft, fleshy thighs
Qui-Gon saw Anakin's dilated eye and had enough
With the help of the force, Qui-Gon knocked over a couple of books onto Anakin's head as he made his way over to you
"Let me help with that," Qui-Gon said with ease, as he stands tall at 6'4''
After retrieving the books, he kisses you for all to see as you stand atop a step ladder, like a pedestal for the goddess you are to him
Anakin is envious of his Master, jealous he is the only one who can express admiration for you

There’s another question I want to ask
Do people think Padme and Shimi would agree to annihilation of the galaxy just to prolong their lives?
And why? Why would they?
I think that, in some cases regarding Padme, the answer is yes---people think that Padme would be completely fine with the galaxy being brought to its knees, as long as she was the ruler of it- (or someone who she approved of was). And, to be completely honest, while I do think that people who think that are fundamentally wrong---I don't really blame them for holding that belief for her.
Mainly because we see her excuse things like the Tusken massacre and the Jedi's genocide. So they're basically just taking the "she would excuse/ignore it, as long as Anakin was the one doing it and he went forward in a way that would allow her to ignore it" aspect of her to the extreme and saying "she would want that done for her," even though I do think she would never actively want something like that.
For the most part though, I don't think people ever think about Shmi or Padme in regards to Anakin at all, unless they can use them as tools to uplift him or excuse his atrocities.
When people talk about- "the Tuskens killed Shmi so Anakin killed them, so it's ok, they deserved it!" -or- "the Jedi took Anakin away from Shmi/the Jedi wouldn't let him see Shmi, so they caused/deserved their genocide!" -or whatever, they are only thinking about Anakin.
Shmi, her wants, her wishes, how she would feel about all of it...none of it matters to them, all that matters is Anakin---what he wants, how he feels.
It doesn't matter that Shmi is the one that kept insisting Qui-Gon take Anakin to the Temple, it doesn't matter that Shmi would've been horrified and disgusted by what Anakin did in her name. All that matters is Anakin.
The same goes for Padme---how she would feel or what she would want is of zero importance to these people, as long as they can use her as a tool to uplift Anakin.
For Anakin stans and apologists, the women in his life are nothing except tools and character canon fodder---they don't matter unless they can be used and exploited to frame their favorite fascist man-baby in a favorable light.

I think there´s not enough talk about the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan and Anakin relationship with Padmé.
In the fandom there´s a take that Anakin didn´t trust Obi-Wan and that´s why he didn´t tell him about his relationship but I don´t think this case is so simple, the problem wasn´t just Obi-Wan´s reaction, it was also the council of the Order and the fact that not marriage is an actual rule in the order nobody is supposed to break, a rule they definitely were not going to change just to accomodate Anakin.
The truth of the matter is that while Obi-Wan tried to be a supporting teacher he usually takes the council side when they and Anakin have a disagreetment, this happens in the movies and in the clone wars series so my guess is that this is usual behavoir with Obi-Wan in relation to Anakin, in this both Anakin and Qui-Gon are very similar. Obi -Wan often disagreed with Qui-Gon for fighting the council and told him that he already would have been part of the Council if he didn´t fight them so much.
Anakin is aware of this, he also knows Obi-Wan has worked for years towards getting a place in the council, it´s important for Obi-Wan in a way it never was for Anakin or Qui-Gon. So part of the reason Anakin didn´t told him was because he thought Obi-Wan would not approve but also to not put him in the ankward place of knowing about Anakin´s marriage and not tell the council to which he belongs.
It´s fun because Obi-Wan knows, Anakin knows and Padmé knows but they never, ever talk openly about it because it would be making it a reality.
Still even if Obi-Wan is supporting that doesn´t mean Anakin can stay a Jedi once it´s discovered and this was something Anakin knew. In the ROTS novel he talks about becoming one of the new "lost ones" because he can´t keep being a Jedi once Padmé gives birth.
From Anakin´s pov, the main reason that linked him to the Jedi Order was Obi-Wan, he wasnt happy in the order, he didn´t agree with some of their principles and he very much wanted to be Padme´s husband so his main interest in the clone wars was to help the Order during the war, make sure Obi-Wan was safe and once the war was done he was planning to leave the Order to live with Padmé on Naboo.
It´s pretty clear in ROTS he just wants the war to end, he doesn´t care if it´s Obi-Wan or him the one who defeats grievous, when Palpatine brings the matter to make Anakin mad at Obi-Wan, Anakin just shurgs, as long as the war ends everything would be ok and he mostly just wanted to follow Obi-Wan because he was feeling worse day by day on, Coruscant, he wasn´t sleeping and he was worried for Obi-Wan and Padme.
Obi-Wan knew in a way it was a matter of time for Anakin to leave the Order, his words very much sound like a goodbye before he left to fight grievous so I believe one of the reasons he didn´t want to talk about this with Anakin is because he didn´t want to make it real and make Anakin leave sooner. This is also why Anakin´s main conflict in the movie is to make sure Padme survives the birth, not wether he remains a Jedi or not, his decision was already made in that area.
In a world where Anakin doesn´t fall to the darkside and there´s no Empire I believe he still would have left the Order to be with his family but not because he could not tell Obi-Wan but because it´s simply the way the Order manages itself and Anakin wasn´t in a possition or had the wish, to ask them to change their rules.
Tumblr media
Curiously enough it was Padme the one who insisted to Anakin to stay in the Order after their marriage and during the war, she only had a different oppinion once it was clear they were going to have a child and had to plan towards the event of Anakin being left outside the Order and her to lose her position in the Senate but in the end, both of them wanted to have a family on Naboo.
Tumblr media
Anakin is making me all sad for all the trust he had in Palpatine here, he had confidence that everything would be ok once the war ended. Of course Palpatine told him he was going to bring peace, he just didn´t tell him how he was going to do it.
