So, it's dehumanizing to choose your own pronouns, but it's a sign of love to use pronouns that someone has made clear make them uncomfortable???

I don't mean this in a rude way, but what's the point of being very femme presenting and asking for people to use he/him pronouns for you?

What the fuck does this mean lol "what's the point" it's my gender and I get to choose the pronouns homie. I get to be a little gender freak if I want. Pronouns do not correlate to presentation, sorry you're not on my advanced gender level

so I've noticed A Trend with some of my favorite fnaf characters

obligatory explanations below the cut bc I know some of yall are gonna be annoying if I don't

spring bonnie: its character description in fnaf world reads "male? female? it's a rabbit, who cares?" springtrap and plushtrap are referred to with he/him pronouns, but never spring bonnie on its own.

mangle: this has been a running joke since fnaf 2; but his gender is a resounding "yes," as explicitly confirmed in freddy in space 3, during monty's trivia level. she uses he/she pronouns in all character descriptions.

funtime foxy: in his sister location custom night and ultimate custom night descriptions, he's referred to with exclusively he/him pronouns, but participates the "ladies night" challenges in both games. handunit also refers to funtime foxy with she/her pronouns in sister location.

lolbit: only ever referred to by name. if mangle's gender is yes, lolbit's is likely no.

daycare attendants: glamrock freddy, the only reliable source of information in security breach and only character that refers to the daycare attendants, uses it/its pronouns when talking about them. in the ruin DLC, helpi also refers to the daycare attendants with it/its.

what i like especially about the pronouns in the goblin emperor is that this language doesn't just have the T-V distinction (aka informal vs. formal second-person pronouns, in this case 'thou' vs. 'you'), it also has informal and formal first-person pronouns. having BOTH of these distinctions in the same language lets you fine-tune your tone by mixing and matching. with only one axis of formality, when you use informal pronouns, are you being familiar in an intimate way, or in an insolent or dismissive way? when you use formal pronouns, are you being polite or standoffish? you can't tell just from the pronouns; there's ambiguity. but a language where you can use a formal first-person pronoun in the same sentence as an informal second-person pronoun allows you to distance yourself (via the formal first) while also being familiar (via the informal second), thereby achieving the conversational tenor known to linguists as Fuck Thee Specifically.

The more you learn about gender, the more you realize you can make up whatever the fuck you want. Oh, you like cat aesthetics? Mew/mewself or even just they/them or it/its or whatever. Oh, you are a cis woman but use it/ze/they pronouns? Awesome ! Trans guy but you use they/her pronouns? You are the coolest person alive. Trans man who wears skirts or a trans woman with a beard? Umm, yes pls !! You are actually legally allowed to commit crimes if you are that cool. Hyper fem and hyper masc nonbinary people???? Coolest people around. Basically, stop being an asshole. Gender isn't real and people can do whatever the fuck they want
