Early Childhood - Nomenclature Cards: Human Anatomy
Montessori Nomenclature cards are used for classifying and building vocabulary and concepts in all subject areas. Also known as 3-part cards, this material is made up of a control card, which has the picture and word on the same card, and individual pictures and labels. Students then match the individual pictures and labels to the correct control card, providing for in-depth visual discrimination practice and independence, as students do not need to ask the teacher for help to check their work. For this 4-year-old student, the teachers have extended the work to include realistic objects and word tracing, adding layers of complexity to the work.

Then there is the cost of private education. While unaffordable housing is a problem the world over, this is what makes Korea truly unique. From the age of four, children are sent to an array of expensive extra-curricular classes - from maths and English, to music and Taekwondo. The practice is so widespread that to opt out is seen as setting your child up to fail, an inconceivable notion in hyper-competitive Korea. This has made it the most expensive country in the world to raise a child. A 2022 study found that only 2% of parents did not pay for private tuition, while 94% said it was a financial burden. As a teacher at one of these cram schools, Stella understands the burden all too well. She watches parents spend up to £700 ($890) per child a month, many of whom cannot afford it. "But without these classes, the children fall behind," she said. "When I'm around the children, I want to have one, but I know too much."

Collage Edumacation
Aloha kākou. “Colleges and universities need a lot of money to operate—and how they get that money is complicated as wealth disparity in higher education is massive. Five schools—Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, and the University of Texas—make up a quarter of the U.S.’s 839 billion endowment dollars. So how do smaller institutions afford to stay afloat?” — Wall Street Journal Bastions of…

School Public vs Private
Some US politicians want to defund public schools even though, given these statistics, public schools save tax payers money (and are grossly underfunded...)
Take these statistics: Public schools get $3000 per in-district student and $1650 per open enrolled student, per year, via tax money. Local private school's tuition in 2024 is $4500 per student per year.
If you want to educate 1000 students in a Public School District with 700 in district students + 300 open enrollment students it would cost taxpayers approximately $2,595,000 per 9 month school year. However if you want to educate those same 1000 students at a Private school with a tuition rate of $4500, using school choice vouchers, it would cost taxpayers approximately $4,500,000 per 9 month school year.
Yet with the private school, they can create reasons to discriminate, so that they don't have to educate all 1000 students...expecting the slack to be picked up by homeschooling or work...potentially bringing childhood for some children back to this again...smh

I'm over here telling my young interns to check the Dept. Of Labor's industry growth projections for the next 50-years to help them pick a solid job/career after school.
Why the fuck do neither high schools or colleges teach this basic shit?

Tim had forgotten, in his one man (and the admittedly liberal usage of hired guns) crusade at everything that had hurt his family, that he was technically a child. A time traveling 21 year old Tim Drake in his younger body, sure, but he’s still a nine year old child.
Tim was violently, unpleasantly reminded of this as he opened his front door to… Gotham Primary’s truancy officer.
Oh shit. He still had to go to school. Tim scrambled for an excuse.
“Hello, Timothy. Are your parents home?”
“Uh- no, sir. Only my nanny. I’ve been really,” think, Timothy, think! Are you Red Robin for nothing? “really sick. She went out for some medicine.”
Tim knew what the officer saw as he looked down at him, a pale, drawn little boy who looked like a sickly Victorian child. He has no idea that Tim had the beginnings of lean muscles and strong grip strength underneath his baggy clothes.
“I see. I’ll have to talk to your nanny, then. We need to be informed of when you’re ill, Timothy.”
“Oh. She-” shit, shit, shit! “Doesn’t speak English.” Was that racist? That felt racist. Gods, he probably sounds like a snobby classist elite. “I’ll let my mom know to email you, sir?”
The truancy officer sighed. By Tim’s lucky stars, he agreed. The man pulled out a singular paper from his plastic folder, clearly used to this kind of thing, especially from the elites of Gotham, and said, “Email the school. And have her sign this note, please.”
Tim nodded seriously. Like hell he would.
When the officer was gone, Tim closed the gate immediately. He had forgotten to close it after getting back home from stalking the Bats last night. Well, Bat, singular, because Jason was still benched.
Tim sighed, grabbing a pen to fluidly forge Janet Drake’s signature on his paper about truancy and proper procedures and what not. Then, he moved to the computer, easily stealing his mother’s credentials, emailing the school about his sick leave, and their decision to have him home schooled.
He’d miss Ives, but honestly, Tim needed the free time. Plus, maybe this way, he’ll graduate high school this time around. He drafted another email to the counselor, asking them what kind of curriculum and tests he needed to pass to obtain future degrees and what not.
He gets an email back, with all of the testing required and the steps “Young Timothy” should take in order to succeed in the rest of his academic career. Tim would like to point out he’s nine, and that this was pretentious. Helpful, sure, but pretentious all the same.
“That’s what people don’t mention about time traveling. It’s all fun and games until you get hit with the mundane and tedious things.” Tim muttered, setting up his appointments for testing. He’ll have to find someone to drive him to the tests…
His mind turned to his neighbors… hm. That’s a possibility.
Tim wiped all traces of his activities from his mother’s email, doing a quick and hidden bit of rerouting to get any educational emails regarding him sent to his own inbox.
Tim swigged a mouthful of coffee and continued on his merry way.
His new goal?
Find Cassandra Cain.

hii!! <3
I wanted to ask u if u know how to deal with a bad grade? I always get good grades and am a straight A student, but recently I got a bad grade and it's effecting my self esteem and I keep worrying and stressing about it :((
i'm not sure if u already posted something about this, if so, I'm sorry and u can just ignore this >.<
tysm and no pressure 💞
(btw I love ur blog smm!! it's so helpful! 💗🫶)
DEALING WITH A BAD GRADE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1: SELF CARE
Dealing with a grade that was unexpected for you, or above your standards can be a huge hit to our academic confidence. So, make sure not to treat yourself harshly because of one grade.
DON’T BE HARD ON YOURSELF. I know it may not seem like it now, but receiving one below-average grade is not the end of the world or your academic career, nor does it represent your abilities as a student.
That being said, do not ‘punish’ yourself for a bad grade. I see that it's from a point of wanting to improve, but it’s more harmful to believe that overworking yourself will improve your grade.
VENT OR RANT. Whether you’re talking to a classmate, friend, or family or doing some way to document your feelings, just let it all out. It can be frustrating or stressful for us if we receive a bad grade, especially if we spend so long studying for it or it has a huge weighting.
DETACH FROM THE GRADE, just temporarily. I’m not saying forget about it, but just put it on the back of the burner and focus on the present moment. If needed, do some things you enjoy to relax and relieve your stress.
2: IMPROVING
Everything that you want to do after having a bad grade, to prevent that in the future and to reconcile your mistakes. Remember that improvement is only there if you commit.
LOOK FOR ERRORS. Were your study methods effective? Did you have instrumental understanding or rational understanding of the topic? Did you use your class time effectively?
If you do receive your assessment/assignment back, look for the mistakes you made on it. Write it down and practice those later, even if you aren’t getting assessed on it shortly. It is better to understand now than to be confused later.
ASK YOUR TEACHER. Ask them for feedback on the assessment, where you went wrong and how you can improve in the future. Listen to them, and apply what they say.
Or, if you’re someone who doesn’t want to talk to their teacher, ask your peers who have a good understanding of that topic or got a high grade.
REFLECT. Do you believe that this was the best grade you could’ve got, or were you able to work hard but just didn’t? Were there any externalities that affected your grade? How will you improve for next time?
3: FOR THE FUTURE
To make up for the bad grade, so it doesn’t affect your final one and to implement ways to make studying more effective.
BUILD GOOD STUDY HABITS. Flashcards before you sleep and when you wake, making your environment rid of all distractions and knowing what to do if you do not understand something etc.
CREATE A STUDY SCHELDULE/ROUTINE. This is so you know what to study, when to study, for how long and how to study for that topic. You do not want to go into study sessions unprepared, as you’re just gonna waste time.
SEEK EXTRA CREDIT. Participating in class and doing extra assignments are ways to recover your final grade from your last one. Ask your teacher about this.
4: MOVE ON. That grade is in the past, and you are in the present. Use that present time wisely, so you can celebrate all of that hard work once you get your success. Do not waste your time dwelling on it and forgive yourself.
Thank you for your support anonnie, it means so much to me.

Early Childhood - Practical Life: Cutting with Scissors
Look at that focus and precision! This Practical Life material acquaints our students with the proper use of scissors and helps them develop basic cutting skills. This work strengthens a child's hands and fingers in preparation for writing, all while preparing them to master this important life skill. They will be able to cut thread and yarn, make booklets, and create cardboard models to illustrate projects. They can also take pleasure in being able to use their scissors skills for artistic expression. Here you can see the younger students work with the scissors, practicing cutting smaller and smaller pieces while an older student uses his cut pieces to make a pattern of different colored paper with varying sizes.

“The Conservative effort to destroy public education began the day Brown v Board of Education said they must be integrated.”
“School choice” is a racist dogwhistle for re-segregation.
There should be no such thing as privatized or profitized education, and religious & private schools should not be funded with public tax dollars.
