I'm not going to rag on the original post, but video games have generally always cost around $30 to $60. A GameBoy used to cost around $80, with each individual game was around $30 unless you caught it on sale or on resale at like, a flea market. The legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, which released in 1998 on the Nintendo 64, cost $59.99 on release, which in today's value is $108.
This is not to say that video games are not expensive, and it's not to say that it doesn't suck that they're getting a little more expensive (AAA games used to cost around $60 10 years ago, now they're up to $70 after hovering around $65 for a while), but the prices aren't actually changing that much in comparison to what they've always been. Video games are costing about the same amount as they always have, the adjust for inflation and the value of money in different periods of time. We really need to avoid romanticizing the cost of things previously, because it leads to this idea that we can go back to a time when things were a lot cheaper.
If anything we need to go forwards to a time where we have price controls for certain goods and an increase in living wage for people as a general rule rather than misremembering the past and how much we used to pay for things.

The cost of launching things into space (per kilogram) to lower earth orbit (altitude < 1200 miles) was almost stagnant for 40 years before SpaceX entered the space (pun intended) and disrupted it.

Hello Tumblr! My name is Ella. I’m 23 years old and I have thyroid cancer in both sides of my thyroid. I don’t currently know if it has spread or not. I am an American citizen who is currently overseas in Brazil. I discovered this cancer on accident when trying to figure out why my throat was swollen and why I had a lump in my neck.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford the cost of a plane ticket back to the US. It would cost 2,065 dollars to go to Missoula, Montana from Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil as a round-way ticket. That’s what I am raising money for, as well as for food while I am there. My housing is already covered (I will stay with family or friends).
The reason I need to go back to the US is to get complete thyroid removal surgery and radioactive treatment afterward to check for cancer spread. My health insurance in the US covers my treatment 100%, but if I were to stay in Brazil, I would owe over 4,000 dollars in treatment costs. The thyroid surgery alone is R$19,400. I also do not feel safe getting my life-saving surgery here where I have seen very unsafe medical conditions.
As I receive donations, I will be updating my post with the amount that has been donated on several sources (here on Tumblr, Facebook, and Tiktok). I will provide screenshot proof of my bank account after all the funds have been raised and sent to me, as well as photos of me after surgery and on my flights.
If I make any money over 2,500 it will be used to bring my wife on an emergency tourist visa to the US to support me in all my medical appointments. I love her and wish she could go with me, but I cannot currently afford to pay her plane ticket or visa application or emergency passport (around 2,500-3,000 dollars for all her expenses). I will also be needing to pay our rent in Brazil, which I will do through limited work hours at my job (15 hours a week from home).

Scotland could be saddled with a bill of more than £22 billion as part of Westminster’s clean up of nuclear dumping grounds over the next century, the SNP have said.
Official estimates published by the UK Government last November estimated total clean-up costs for sites which contained disposed nuclear material from weapons programmes and energy generation could come to £263bn over the next 100 years.
This means Scotland, which contributes 8.6% of the UK’s tax revenue, could be made to pay £22,618,000,000 in total, working out to £22m every year for a century.
The SNP’s defence spokesperson Martin Docherty-Hughes criticised how conventional military spending had been “recklessly slashed” while the Tories focus cash on disposing nuclear materials from weapons of mass destruction.
