I have stayed up the past few nights reading Manacled until 5-6 am because I did not realise how long it actually was until I saw a physical book that someone book bound (speaking of which, if anyone knows how to do that then please give me the best know how because I NEED A PHYSICAL COPY) but I finished it at 6:30am and it's actually INCREDIBLE and I'm going to re-read it right now but I actually still can't process how good it is so if anyone else wants to scream about it with me then please do

UPDATE: My airline funds have been raised on Facebook. However, I still need to raise money for my wife’s ticket and visa/passport so she can come with me. She is Brazilian, but we are married. Hello Tumblr! My name is Ella. I’m 23 years old and I have thyroid cancer in both sides of my thyroid. I don’t currently know if it has spread or not. I am an American citizen who is currently overseas in Brazil. I discovered this cancer on accident when trying to figure out why my throat was swollen and why I had a lump in my neck.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford the cost of a plane ticket back to the US. It would cost 2,065 dollars to go to Missoula, Montana from Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil as a round-way ticket. That’s what I am raising money for, as well as for food while I am there. My housing is already covered (I will stay with family or friends).

The reason I need to go back to the US is to get complete thyroid removal surgery and radioactive treatment afterward to check for cancer spread. My health insurance in the US covers my treatment 100%, but if I were to stay in Brazil, I would owe over 4,000 dollars in treatment costs. The thyroid surgery alone is R$19,400. I also do not feel safe getting my life-saving surgery here where I have seen very unsafe medical conditions.

As I receive donations, I will be updating my post with the amount that has been donated on several sources (here on Tumblr, Facebook, and Tiktok). I will provide screenshot proof of my bank account after all the funds have been raised and sent to me, as well as photos of me after surgery and on my flights.

If I make any money over 2,500 it will be used to bring my wife on an emergency tourist visa to the US to support me in all my medical appointments. I love her and wish she could go with me, but I cannot currently afford to pay her plane ticket or visa application or emergency passport (around 2,500-3,000 dollars for all her expenses). I will also be needing to pay our rent in Brazil, which I will do through limited work hours at my job (15 hours a week from home).

Please share this post if you are unable to donate. It would be a blessing for me to be able to get help sooner rather than later.

I tried to log onto discord today only to find I had been blocked before I woke up this morning. No, I wasn't just blocked from a specific server, I was just blocked from Discord entirey

I don't even know what I did to make this happen, it was just like this when I arrived on the website this morning. Reloading the page doesn't help either. I swear I haven't been acting mean on the website because if I were being mean on the website, I likely wouldn't be making this kind of post

All that it tells me is that I should have cookies enabled (they are) and also it tells me to "email the site owner to let them know you were blocked" even though discord isn't owned by a single person??? and also if I can't access discord how tf am I supposed to contact anybody who runs discord?

Just like you read it. I found Honk Honk's red nose on the floor. Initially i thought it was just one of his juggling balls but it was, in fact, his red nose, now a little less saturated. hey guys, i'm lu (they/them). i have to cut straight to the chase here. i really, really need help.

i've been out of work since October due to some severe health issues, and while i'm planning on returning to my job in December, i currently have absolutely nothing. my bills have piled up, and after an automatic charge for a bill that put my savings account in the negatives, my bank charges me an extra $35 a day for BEING in the negatives. my bank account is now at -$200, and i have no hope of getting it back into the positives. i'm drowning, and i have nowhere to turn.

any donations at all are so appreciated.

i wouldn't be asking if this wasn't urgent, but i truly have no other options.

even when i do go back to work, i'll be upwards of -$1000 at that point, and i only work as a part-time assistant.

i have less than nothing.

Hey, things are tough, and we had our teeth pulled and put on denture waiting list 9 months ago, and will likely be like this for another 6-12 months. Medical and life expenses hit, and essentials are expensive enough without a specialized diet for intestinal chronic illness, but making it essentially liquid is even worse and requiring a lot of extra cooking steps. If anyone could help me out, it would help more than ever right now. I have been severely sick for the last 7 months with ulcers that haven’t been healing with consistent medications. My name is Natasha and I'm fundraising on behalf of a family, a single mother and her kids, including a toddler. I'm keeping things anonymous for their safety, and everything posted here is approved by the mother.

Long story short: they recently dealt with

being attacked by the abusive husband

now being the only source of income

an apartment fire

catching covid

stillbirth

family needs:

money for therapy

money for bills, rent

money for meds, medical bills, etc

replace things lost in fire

A few months ago, the husband attacked the mom in the middle of the night. The kids came running out screaming, and we got them safe in our apartment while we called the cops and other neighbors helped the mom. The husband was arrested and is out of the picture now. The family went through a lot of trauma with that, and are in great need of therapy.

Soon after, an apartment fire broke out. The mom and one kid were home; they're mostly ok, but had to go to the hospital for oxygen after they put it out. The apartments didn't help with the fire damage at all, and the family had to clean up the damage themselves after staying a week at a hotel until the apt was safe again.

Right after, the whole family caught Covid. They had to call an ambulance for the toddler, and dealt with more medical bills. Luckily the kids have all recovered, but the mom is still dealing with some long Covid symptoms. We helped as much as we could with food and cash for medicine, but we're all in low income apartments so there's only so much we can help with.

And sadly, the mom was pregnant, but due to complications, recently had to deliver her stillborn. This is terrible news and horrible for all the trauma they've already been through, and this along with medical bills and high medicine costs is really weighing on the mom. She is now the only one supporting herself and the kids, and is dealing with all this trauma, pain, and medical issues. She doesn't have family that will help, either.

She and the kids really need therapy after everything, they still need to cover medical costs to help keep the mom going, they lost things in the fire they need to replace, are struggling to cover bills and rent, and will need financial help to move to a different apt once an apt opens up in our complex.

Any amount will help them, but we're aiming for something to help for months while they get back on their feet. All donations go directly to the mom.
