when you hear the sound of the deathwatch beetle the person you love is doomed to die.
In this house we have chocolate cake for breakfast.
But with the sweets comes the sour.
Spare me.
____ died of a broken heart.
let's go inside and do some spells.
get the book.
 i can't think about anything else. i don't sleep.
perhaps, you might find one better suited.
i don't want anyone else.
i want them to want me so much they can't stand it.
be careful what you wish for.
i hope i never fall in love.
i can't wait to fall in love.
i thought you never wanted to fall in love.
that's the point. the person I dreamed of doesn't exist. and if they doesn't exist, i'll never die of a broken heart.
do you love them enough to marry them?
oh, come on, what's enough?
i feel like I'll never see you again.
of course you will. You can see me again.
we'll grow old together. It'll be you and me living in a big house.
i bet we die on the same day.
you swear?
I need your pocketknife
my blood. your blood. our blood.
i guess the roto-rooter man's history.
hello, darling, how are you?
god, i miss them.
all I want is a normal life.
when are you going to understand that "normal" is not necessarily a virtue? it rather denotes a lack of courage.
well, it's what I want.
 i hear you. don't.
look out behind you! on your right!
it was the curse, wasn't it? they died because i loved them so much!
well, I did. and i want them back.
you brought them into my life. you bring them back! i have never asked you for anything ! i never asked for spells, but do this! you can bring them back.
no, dear. you don't do that!
you can do this. i know you can. i remember.
even if i did bring them back, it wouldn't be them. it'd be something else. something dark and unnatural.
i don’t care what they come back as. as long as they come back.
i was just thinking about you.
you're always thinking about me.
 i was really, really happy.
they have this whole dracula-cowboy thing about them.
 i hope you get chickenpox.
whats wrong with you? we do not cast and we do not toy with people's lives. do you understand? this is not a game.
sometimes i feel there's a hole inside me an emptiness that, at times seems to burn.
i think if you lifted my heart to your ear, probably you could hear the ocean.
i just want someone to love me. i want to be seen.
maybe I've had my happiness.
nudity is entirely optional, as you well remember!
 blood on the moon!
where's my tiger's eye? it brings me luck. i left it. i got to get my tiger's eye!
the belladonna is in my bag.
louis l’amor by the way is not a foreigner! he’s from north dakota , you asshole!
give me the bottle before i plow you into a truck just to get you to shut up!
i wasn't using a measuring cup! he tried to kill you!
i just had no one else to turn to.
we have to go to the police. It was self-defense.
the old slowly-poison-him-to-death self-defense?
its not like he's going to stay fresh. it’s now or never.
oh please. since when is being a slut a crime in this family?
you self-centered shrew!
it was a very personal letter.
i’m not going to beat around the bush.
i have a question or two.
belladonna. It's a sedative. people put it in their tea to relax, calm their nerves.
some people also use it as a poison.
you should come here on Halloween. you’d really see something. we all jump off the roof and fly.
do you have any idea how strange this all sounds to me?
magic isn't just spells and potions.
wish you could believe in me.
i assume you don't want pancakes.
we just stick to our stories. no body, no crime.
that's all you can think about, isn't it? you.
it’s all about you.
i don't want to fight.
don't walk away from me. i’m sick and tired of cleaning up your messes.
yeah, you’re right. you’re always right. i’m just a mess. just one big mess!
at least i’ve lived my life and you hate me for it because it scares the hell out of you.
all my life, I've wished I had half your talent.
i want you out of here. i want you done.
i’ll tell you how i did it, where i buried him, what i did it with. i’ll tell you how
hold on just a goodamn second, all right?
i took on oath to uphold the law. i came here to bring in the bad guy because generally that's what i do.
the reason you're here and you don't know why is because i sent for you.
you’re saying what I'm feeling is just one of your spells?
yeah. its not real and if you stay, i wouldn't know if it was because of the spell and you wouldn't know if it was because i didn't want to go to prison.
you know, all relationships have problems.
why don't you do what you do and what I do. and we'll see where we end up. okay?
curses only have power when you believe in them and i don't.
you know what? i wished for you too.
you can't practice witchcraft while you look down your nose at it.
we need a full coven.
here is the thing. i’m a witch!
stay with me.
we're supposed to die together, remember? the same time. you promised me that and this is not that day.
i got a worm with your name on it. you thirsty?
can love travel back in time and heal a broken heart?
there are some things i know for certain. always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder. keep rosemary by your garden gate. plant lavender for luck and fall in love whenever you can.

What if a Crown shared the same cultural aspect of using a scarf to hide their face like Tûjo, would there be problems for the Crown hiding their face or no one would care?
There have actually been a few Crowns in the past who originated from Şevan and who have worn full face-covering scarves without issue. The most important part is that their eyes are always visible to indicate their status. There have been portraits made of their faces as well!!
I haven't really gotten into this in detail in the story yet, but I figure I may as well lore dump a bit now to explain how it all works.
The cultural aspect about wearing the body and face-covers (you can't wear one without the other, it's always fully covered or not at all) has to do with a tradition in Şevan regarding magic. They believe that the idle magic in the air differs depending on where you are and who you're with, and has significant influence on a person's internal magic core in turn (this is regardless of whether the person in question is an inner magic type or not). So, when you're at home or with your loved ones, they believe that you are connected to the magic in your home/from your loved ones, and absorb it to make it part of yourself.
When people from Şevan (who adhere to this belief, mind you--not everyone in Şevan does) venture outside of their homes or away from their loved ones, they cover themselves completely in order to ward off external influences and maintain that essence of their home/loved ones to carry it with them; they believe it makes their magic stronger, and also helps them feel less homesick. To what extent/how rigorously someone adheres to this, however, depends per region/subculture and what they define as their home.
Some are very strict, to where they only ever uncover themselves completely in their physical house, and others (like Tûjo) are much more flexible, walking uncovered in their hometowns/places they frequent, and only covering up when they go somewhere new. Similarly, like Tûjo, a person could grow to consider a new place home or find new loved ones they care about, in which case they can decide to uncover themselves as well.
So, in short, no issues for a Crown on that front!

What are your favorite pieces of media that you think accurately represent magic and spirit work? Movies, books, even music..
This is an interesting question, but one that requires a lot of thought, as I have read and watched an inordinate amount of books and movies. Plus, even really good fiction with pagan themes that I've read/watched is generally inaccurate in most ways, with some realistic aspects of magic woven in here and there. Some of my very favorite media relating to the subject can't really be included, simply because of how inaccurate it is overall, but there are a few that have caught my notice.
I'm sure I'll end up missing ones, which bugs me, but I'll do my best to recount some examples that I can think of:
The Love Witch (2016) is a movie that I think presents a strikingly realistic portrayal of what magic can look like. It manages to show some of the ways one might use magic to great effect, without actually skewing into fantasy at all. Clearly, the magic shown isn't going to line up with every paradigm, and its not exactly a heady or spirit-based story, but I think it's a very real look at how ritual and magic is/can be approached by many folks in the modern day.
The Witch (2015) is, above all else, a great slow-burn horror film and an excellent period-piece. However, it also portrays quite an accurate conception of folkloric beliefs about Witchcraft in the 17th century, which inexorably inform the realities of modern Witchcraft traditions. It does just barely skew into fantasy horror, but the actual folkloric information being presented is quite sound.
A Dark Song (2016) is a film that portrays ceremonial magic realistically in many ways. Ultimately, it is still a supernatural horror film, but the bulk of the magic in the movie is based directly on the Abramelin Operation, which was interesting to see. A lot of the ways that the magic "takes shape" in the film feels real enough to me, too (though it certainly takes it to extremes at points, as horror movies are wont to do).
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson is a horror novel I much enjoyed when I read it a coulple years ago, but I also remember that it happens to contain small, but meaningful, instances of sympathetic magic within the story that I appreciated as a practitioner looking in. This one has been made into a movie as well.
Cunning Folk by Adam Nevill is one of the more realistic looks at magic—including the uncanny side of it—that I've come across. It's still definitely a horror story, first and foremost, but there's an oomph to the ritual and magic described therein that a lot of other similar fiction lacks—even when the ritual act being described isn't necessarily accurate in terms of historicality or my personal experience of the Craft.
The White People by Arthur Machen is a Welsh short horror story from the turn of the century, which I think is worth including here. There are elements and aspects of the story that feel surprisingly real in terms of Gloaming initiation and the Gloaming Spirits—though, of course, it takes creative liberties informed by the paranormal beliefs and trends of the time (1890s).
The Craft (1996) is a movie that I'm sure a lot of pagans have of nostalgia for in one way or another, myself included. I struggled with whether this movie should be here or in the Honorable Mention section, but I included it here in the end because a lot of the ways magic and ritual are presented in the film are accurate enough. I also think it did a fairly good job of capturing how it can feel to discover, revel in, and then become overwhelmed by magic. However, since it is a supernatural horror film, a lot of magic shown is portrayed more fantastically than the real thing, and there are aspects of the magic (rituals, entities, etc.) made up entirely for the sake of the story.
As implied above, there are also some pieces that, while largely inaccurate or too far into the realm of fantasy, still manage to succesfully capture some essence of realistic feeling magic in them. I will list those here as Honorable Mentions:
Practical Magic (1998) is another movie that I'm sure a lot of Pagans have nostalgia for in some way or another. I won't claim that it's a genuinely "accurate" representation of magic—and it certainly strays into outright fantasy at times—but there are little things throughout the movie that managed to ring a bell for me, as someone who grew up with magic in my family. I know this was originally a book, but I actually haven't read that as of yet, so I can't speak to it.
Pan's Labyrinth (2006) is a movie is squarely in the fantasy-horror genre to me, but even still, I include it here as an honorable mention because a lot of the lore depicted is drawn from real lore, and the overall ambience it manged to evoke strongly reminds me of some of my own experiences with chthonic journeying.
The Good Witch franchise isn't one I have ever actually watched any part of before, but I include it here because, oddly enough, multiple practitioners have mentioned to me that they think the magic is surprisingly realistic for a Hallmark series. As I understand it, the main character is a sort of local Wise Woman who helps the folk in her little town using things like folk-knowledge, remarkable intuition, and an uncanny ability to seemingly sway people and circumstances. Since I haven't seen it myself, my take on it may be somewhat lacking, (which is why I listed it as an honorable mention), but based on the description, it actually sounds like it may be one of the more realistic interpretations of magic on this list.
I know this is a strange addition, as it's not exactly magic, per se, but much of how Stephen King writes about psychic abilities like clairvoyance and healing throughout his works manages to touch on something all too familiar for me. I think, sometimes, that he may have known someone with the Sight and/or the Touch in his real life, as it comes up a lot in one shape or another in his writing.
As I said, I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing, but this at least a serviceable overview. I encourage others to share any other media that they think deserves a mention, too!

Per waterpark au, you mentioned that they were able to retain water in their frame to add to their weight. Do they have any other useful skills built in?
You've yet to mention any human employees, and we already know they double as Life Guards, so I'm curious if they're able to imitate breath for CPR as necessary or if there's a proper nurse of sorts on-site for these cases. I'm curious about all of it actually. The whole AU. Like every square inch of it in fact (<<< withholding 742 more questions, visibly frothing at the mouth)
Oh ho ho!!!! I see you caught onto that lil detail hehe
Yes they have that feature built in for heavy duty labor and emergency purposes only. One of those purpose being minor construction. As of currently there are no human employees so when the park needs maintenance the sun and moon are the brawn to get the job done! Lil fun fact the park did have human employees during the first two years of the park being opened, but not in the sense you might be thinking. The waterpark is a branch of the Fazz Company but it was a very experimental one. Having animatronics mixed with water, the chair heads weren’t entirely confident in its popularity so they didn’t focus much of their attention on it during it’s construction so a small team came together to build it as a sort of passion project that could function on its own without much leadership. Hence on opening 3 types of animatronics were designed to run and maintain the waterpark. The only human employees were designers, marketers, financial advisors and other outside overseers of the park.
After the two years Sun and Moon gained ownership of the waterpark under some minor agreements. The park still has an attachment with Fazzco and all of the shares that aren’t going towards the waterpark directly go to them, other than that they released all the other responsibilities to our two animatronics. It’s not the greatest deal but Fazco doesn’t stick their nose into their business and the boys are free to do as they please with how they want to run their waterpark!
(And yes the boys are able to perform CPR haha, they can blow up a tube within 6 seconds! They also can fool around and blow the hats off of guest, it didn’t take poor y/n long to find out about that)

Of all of your AUs, which one is the most insane about celebrating Halloween? Is it Anthony or Kate that is more invested in the costumes in the theme and the decorations? Do the Bridgertons get into any kind of neighborhood competitions for the scariest haunted house of the block?
To be honest, I think the only AU where they do it up big for Halloween is my practical magic AU Woman Taken by the wind. Kate’s a witch, so obviously Halloween is a pretty special time for them.
And Anthony’s first Halloween with them seems pretty special, honestly. He laughs when he sees Kate dressed like and actual witch, with a pointed hat and a black dress and a broomstick.
“Oh well well well.” Anthony chuckled, flicking them brim of her hat, “I thought we agreed these hats were a harmful stereotype.”
“Well, I need to give the people what they expect today of all days.”
Anthony laughed as Kate clicked her fingers and a black cat appeared, settling itself on the porch of her mother’s house.
“I thought magic wasn’t supposed to be about little tricks.”
“And then I fell in love with a cute little policeman who can never find is keys and i figured that doing minor magic is okay.”
“Oh, you’re funny.” Anthony rolled his eyes, leaning forward to brush their lips together, “You’re very funny.”

I try to not say never in my practice.
The reason being is that most practices will grow and change.
A year ago would I have thought my death practice would shift to a death and life duality based practice? No!
When I began worshipping the old gods of Ireland would I have ever thought that I would now be testing the waters of helpol as well? No!
It’s important to allow yourself the opportunity and freedom to change. If you say never then you are going to limit yourself. I promise you it is alright if your practice shifts away from what it was. Your path should grow as you do, not tie you down.
-
All my love, Psychopomp.

🎃 👻Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Kaneki’s Group Halloween Headcanon Time
☆ Everyone in the group is invited for Trick or Treating! Except maybe Shuu, but he inserts himself anyway and nobody tells him to leave
☆ Kaneki’s favourite part is seeing how many ghouls give candy to the human kids, and then real eyes and fingers to the ghoul children while trick or treating. At first he felt bad about “intruding” on a human event until he realized it was a perfect holiday for ghouls
☆ The gas masks are all about trading after trick or treating. By the end, Jiro has enough eyeballs for a biblically accurate angel, Ichimi can make his section of the room ghost-themed and Sante could replicate their boss’s torture bucket
☆ Banjou likes giving “tricks” to kids while trick or treating. Every time they walk past a large group of children together, he’ll try doing some card tricks for them that he spent a few hours practicing with Kaneki. Some kids love it, some think he’s scary, one kid started mocking him for being 25 and fumbling with cards on the street and it really hurt his feelings
☆ Shuu loves the costuming aspect of it! Every year as a child he always had the most extravagant costume, and as an adult he is no different. He spends time tailoring outfits for himself and specifically Kaneki and Hinami. This year, he dresses himself as a vampire (always one of his favorites) and Hina and Kaneki as an angel and demon. THEY LOOK VERY PRETTY.
☆ After trick or treating, Hinami asks Shuu what to do with the candy. He decides to show her some cool recipes, like flowers made from melted hard candy and mousse with a chocolate swirl lid. They decide to donate the treats to Anteiku and Hinami learns to make some cool art with her candy!

traditional centaurs are so like wild because theres like no way they would thrive. horses and human spines are both much too stiff to allow decent grooming with the shape they have and the way they would connect given the human torso is sitting straight up..
horses also notoriously are fragile. they walk on their single toe. they store oxygen in their bones because their lungs are not strong enough to fully supply their body, which is a large factor in why breaking any bones is so detrimental to a horse. also they break bones super easily because they have very small legs and, again, walk on a single toe. their hearts struggle to support their bodies and are a regular source of issues. horses pretty commonly may get too scared and die of a heart attack, as most prey animals are want to do.
granted, a centaur is probably not a prey animal anymore. but there would need to be so much rearranging of the internal organs to make it viable. personally i like to think of them having the majority of the human torso be lungs while a larger heart is in the horse chest. the digestive system snakes through them and the stomach and most other primary organs remain in the horse tummy. also, it would be prudent to strengthen the legs and have larger feet to accomate for the extra ~50-60lbs added from the human torso. anything that would help them thrive in various environments rather than disabling them in a way that does not allow them to safely travel most places lest it give them a life-ending injury. the world would already not be made for them due to their size, adding onto that seems unfair and not super frasible. Also, most importantly, their spine needs to be adjusted to be more flexible and curved to allow for better, more natural resting positions and ability to take care of themselves. the way the two segments would connect would ideally be more like the curvature of a praying mantis.
anyway all that to say i draw centaurs with bodies shaped a lot more like cats, due to the spine mostly
