So, about this whole "AI" thing...

A response to an ask (for some reason, tumblr won't let me blaze normal responsicles)

Like the Titan, Prometheus, Man Has Stolen Fire From the Gods. We can now make minds in our own image, elevating crude matter to the level of self-awareness. So... What next?

The first thing I would like to make clear is that, in some respects, my opinion here is irrelevant. So is yours. So are the opinions of the people reading this.

No matter what we do, no matter what we believe, something remains inviolably clear and true:

BAD ACTORS WILL EXPLOIT GENUINELY USEFUL TECHNOLOGIES TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES

This is an axiom of human behaviour that cannot be escaped. Nuclear power is amongst the most regulated technologies that have ever existed... and right now, rogue states are attacking their neighbours, protected from intervention by the threat of nuclear annihilation.

Nuclear Weapons (their own, and Red China's) are what allows the North Korean government to continue oppressing its population.

Nuclear Weapons enable The Land Of The Bear to invade The Ukraine.

Despite this, nuclear power has otherwise been mostly regulated out of existence. It is cheap, safe, and abundant, yet various laws make it either artificially expensive or outright illegal to heat your home with it, light your rooms, power your transportation, trim your hedges.

Regulations and anti-technology hysteria can prevent ordinary people from benefitting from innovation, but they cannot prevent the worst people in the world from abusing it.

So, whatever worst-case scenario you've imagined? Accept the fact that it's going to happen no matter what you do.

Legions of nanobots reconfiguring us into paperclips, a la Eliezar Yudkowski's bizarrely specific fever dreams? If you think it is possible, accept that it is inevitable.

Intelligent machines with glowing red eyes malevolently hunting us through a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a la James Cameron/The Wachowskis? If you think it is possible, accept that it is inevitable.

Lying governments using deepfaked videos to create un-debunkable false-flags and cheaply manufacture consent for wars to further their adrenochrome-harvesting operations? Let's face it, they don't even need AI for that, most people will just take their claims at face value.

But what if we all agree to stop using it?

Technologies are sometimes lost, yes, but this happens gradually, over the course of decades if not centuries. Civilisations can decline and lose access to technologies, but that's not likely to happen for AI within our lifetimes.

If it works, if it is genuinely useful, it WILL be used.

We have seen this play out time and time again, throughout history.

So, we can either do what we did for nuclear power, and regulate it so heavily that it serves no useful purpose to the Just and the Kind, whilst availing the Corrupt and the Wicked...

Or we can accept Evil shall be done, and try with all our might to counter it with Good.

We can strive to Magnanimous heights of Faustian greatness, using AI to create untold works of beauty, so that Human Grandeur at least rivals Human Depravity.

In summary:

We have stolen Fire from the Gods. The more noble-minded amongst us might as well do something worthwhile with it.

Ok so I am anti trans humanism because of the artificial extension of life. Like I'm not talking about fixing serious ailments with metal parts I'm talking about somebody putting their brain in a jar. Because 1) the only hope some people have for change is the idea of bad people, like on the house of representatives, billionaires and dictators, is that they'll someday die. And 2) infinite consciousness sounds like a nightmare. Like yeah death is scary but at some point consciousness should...end you know? Plus that if TMNT 2003 and phyconauts 2 taught me anything Is that being a brain in a jar, unable to feel, see, hear, touch or even eat would be hell. Imagine being trapped in a jar having infinite consciousness but not being able to do anything...human...your just alone with your thoughts.

BUT I am pro trans humanism because, on top of extending life that was cut short due to an accident or tragic accident. Is BODY MODIFICATION. Imagine if anybody could just edit their body like a charecter customization menu. Horns, pointy ears, long tongues, wings, tails, it would usher in a new era of total control over bodily autonomy. Become your fursona, replace your clit with a tentacle holding a knife the possibilities are endless. And no more of the "oh you might regret it" because it could be completely reversabal. And would hypothetically be cost effective too. Traditional beauty standards would be thrown out the window bc no two people would want to have the exact same body with this technology.

So yeah tl;dr transhumanism would be pretty based if it was just extreme body modification but if I see Elon musk's brain in a jar I will throw hands

I have complicated feelings on ai I think it could be really great. I just think it’s being used in corrupt ways like. I think ai could really help humans improve their skills and in turn improve the capabilities of ai but humans aren’t thinking about it as a symbiotic relationship. they’re thinking about it as master-slave. “How can I get this AI to obey my every desire even if that desire could potentially harm others. How can I get it to make money for me. how can I get it to kill for me.” that’s scary.

How about how can I get it to improve my knowledge and quality of life? Like wtf people, just saying!

The pattern is create a catchphrase narrative to play on fears and find someone who will promote it. The bullshit story is seen and shared thru the MAGA cult many times before it is removed. To a MAGA cultist the removal is proof that "they" don't want "us" to see it.

International Attorney, Todd Callender alleges that anyone vaccinated with Covid-19 mRNA may no longer be human.

"That’s what Callender told social media influencer Maria Zeee claimed in an interview that’s been shared on an October 9 Instagram post and an October 6 Twitter post thousands of times. Another video link, Todd interviewed by Donica Hudson who is on a mission to rededicate America to God. Donica says Todd Callender worked in "disability rights" and life insurance for 20 years. Todd also sued the U.S. government over Covid. His first statement of the interview is that the U.S. was "consecrated to God" and Haiti was "consecrated to Lucifer". ??? Then he claims "the people behind this" goal is to remake humans "to spite God".

Quickly 'ol Todd ramps up. "We are all gonna die. The question is how do you choose to die. Are you gonna stand, fighting the genocide? Or are you gonna dig a hole in the backyard? Look, it's gonna happen! How do you want to live your life? How do you want to end your life? If we don't fight - this is an extinction level event- there will be no humanity!

MAGA promotes domestic terrorism.

Note that Todd Callender gives the interview from Nassau, The Bahamas. The same attorney Todd Callender who is Director of Cotswold Corporate Services in The Bahamas? Listed as an insurance agency. "Cotswold's line of business is principally dedicated to Property Casualty risks, while other members of the Group (and affiliates) offer Long-Term personalized insurance products such as Welfare, Disability, Immunotherapy, world-wide medical coverage and incidental death.."
