i keep seeing this sentiment that Actually Good media is “too good” for there to be fans of it forever/for there to be a strong fandom presence, but i disagree so much. that has been the opposite of every experience i’ve had. some good examples of the opposite of this phenomenon are breaking bad/better call saul, revolutionary girl utena, the sopranos, and neon genesis evangelion. people come back again and again to these works because they are good, entertaining, and have tremendous depth. every year new people watch these shows (despite their age) because they are fantastic and there is so much to say about them that a lifetime of study would still leave more to be discussed. tbh if you’ve never been gripped by a truly fantastic piece of media i hope that day comes for you soon

Sanji has poison powers, whether there was an accidental exchange between his powers and Reiju's or he ate a devil fruit, it doesn't matter.

At first, he keeps it a secret since the power of poison as such was not very useful in any way, especially for him who does not kill his enemies and enjoys a good battle with kicks. But when they arrive at an island with poisonous plants and Zoro is poisoned, Sanji decides to forget about keeping everything a secret and kisses the marimo to absorb the poison.

Sanji doesn't expect him to taste that good, although he enjoyed certain types of poison as if they were a snack, drinking poison from someone else's body felt different and Zoro tasted incredible.

After that, Sanji can't stop thinking about Zoro and how good he tastes. His feelings for the marimo only increase.

From time to time, he puts poison in Zoro's food or sake just so he can kiss him again.

Zoro knows this and has no complaints about being poisoned as long as it is the cook who saves him from dying with those kisses of his.
