I grew up as the weird (autistic) goth kid who spent a lot of time in graveyards. I didn’t have friends. So I invented them. That’s why I’m an author, I think. I crafted worlds full of wondrous diversity, quirky characters, peculiar souls. I knitted them into families. I often felt at home when I read; the work of Neil Gaiman, of Terry Pratchett, of Ursula Le Guin, of Terry Brooks… My fiction is meant to be participatory too. When you read it, you should feel like you came home and friends were waiting to greet you.

Maybe in a really cool graveyard—like this one at Scone Castle.

Siempre fuí extraña por naturaleza. No habito entre la muchedumbre, me roban las energías. No ansío su compañía, más bien, prefiero deambular sola por las calles y los caminos de las zonas rurales. Me agrada saber que puedo respirar tranquilamente sin tener que esperar algo de alguien de ningún modo. Las cosas que hago hasta son solitarias porque tengo raíz terrenal de los marginados, de los que son rechazados por ser misántropos. Inspiro odio por ser indiferente a las tendencias ordinarias de las personas. Me gusta volar hacia los lugares desconocidos, dónde nadie rinde tributo ni le pone emblemas a las cosas. Donde... El silencio es desolador y a la vez pacífico. Allí, cuyo desenlace parece tener origen de la esencia de aquel que es protagonista de su propia historia.
