"Look, I don't doubt your capabilities. Its your more... reckless tendencies that worry me. We both know that I've long thought it'll be what ruins you." Algernon sighs deeply and takes another drink of his wine. "Remind me why I allowed you talk me into letting you lead a mission and leaving me behind."
"Because you have the most wonderful wife on God's earth waiting for you across the Channel, and she'd never forgive us if we let you get yourself killed."

"It's a trap," Gaspard realises, his breath catching in his throat. "We are surrounded."
"Go, Claude!" Victoria makes the command without hesitation. "Run to my brother and bring help before we are all done for!"
"I won't leave you both!"
"You must, Claude," his lover pleads. "It's the only way!"
"Don't take too long, or we'll all be for it," Victoria says grimly as he goes, drawing her sword.

He arrives too late. Claude has raced to Algernon and back, barely stopping to explain or catch breath, and he's still too late.
Victoria, pale and shaking, is cradling a body.
A body that lies completely limp and unmoving.
"No!" It takes him a moment to realise that the cry is his own, his knees buckling of their own accord, leaving him to crawl, rather than walk, or even stumble, across the now blood-stained cobblestones of the Paris street. "Open your eyes, you fool," he whispers desperately. "Your tricks aren't funny. You need to wake up now-"
"Claude." He ignores Victoria, continuing his quiet pleas for Gaspard to just wake up, taking the cold hand in his own. "He loved you, Claude. He made me swear to tell you. It was what he wanted you to know, above anything else."
"He can tell me so himself! You will wake, Gaspard, you must! If I cannot beg it of you, then I will command it-"
"Claude, we need to move him." The voice comes from behind, accompanied by Algernon's hand on his shoulder.
"Please, we just need to wait, just another minute, and then he'll wake up-"
"The shot practically hit his heart." Victoria gestures vaguely, as if to emphasise the point. "Nobody could survive that."
"He could! We just need to get him help, something-"
"Its too late for that. He's gone." The tears are falling before he even registers that they're there. He can barely hold his own weight, resting his head on the fabric of Gaspard's shirt. The absence of a heatbeat is what finally breaks Claude's spirit.
"Please don't leave me," he mutters onto the blood-soaked shirt. "I can't lose you. Not now. We're supposed to- we were going to be happy, you and me, in England-"
This time, when he is coaxed away from Gaspard, he complies. Algernon starts to lift the body, but clearly struggles; he is not a particularly large man, nor a strong one, and Gaspard was usually relied upon to be the muscle of the league. Something about the sight forces Claude's body into action, and he helps Algernon to support the weight. It takes a moment for Victoria to move, her eyes scanning the red stains that almost entirely saturate the pale fabric of her breeches. She feels her brother's eyes on her as she manages to stand, even more so when her legs threaten to give way.
"Just shaken up is all," she explains for his benefit when she is fully on her feet.
Victoria doesn't tell him that the blood isn't just Gaspard's.
They've lost enough today.

Death Warrant!Au
When the rejuvenating, life-extending effects of ectoplasm to the dead and dying was discovered by planets across the stars, it triggered mass conflicts that left several systems obliterated beyond repair. Hundreds of Billions had migrated to the Realms in numbers that were never seen before by the residence of the dead. They had various forms of damage and disfigurement on their new forms as a result of the ectoplasm being weaponized and used on them. Their very beings were corrupted beyond repair with their minds significantly altered with highly specified obsessions.
• Peoples from the destroyed worlds being so afraid that they lashed out, ripping anything that saw them to pieces out of fear of being attacked.
A serpentine creature of the Realms eagerly stalking them and fed upon their cores to grow stronger.
• Soldiers of these races were hell-bent on continuing to fight and proceeded to attempt subjugate this dimension that was new to them. Their rage guiding them blindly as they left paths of destruction throughout the realm.
A beast, wrongly slaughtered in the early madness of an delicate fledgling world that happened to be rich with ectoplasm followed the warpath and basked in the rage.
Eventually, more creatures like them came to prominence as a result of these strange new victims. Being aspects of emotion that were born from the masses in the war.
The Ghost King during this time period could not sit idly by and watch these newly born ghosts run rampant and terrorize his kingdom. With a heavy heart and a weapon in hand, a call to arms was called and the purge of these beings began. It tooks thousands of years, but when the last corrupted ghost was destroyed, the King took to the realm of living and wiped away all traces of the Realms from the minds of the survivors with all recollections of this terrible war for ectoplasm erased from history.
As his rested his eyes one final time, before the Tyrant would cowardly claim his life, made a major, sacred declaration that all citizens was made:
• If any hostile, mutant ghosts were to be found, they were to captured and examined by the king's council to await judgement. If they are too dangerous to restrain and seek bloody violence, they are to be destroyed.
• Any scientists trying to use ectoplasm for endangering life were to be have their memories erased and put to the sword for their crimes.
• Anyone foolish enough to Defy Death using ectoplasm, the greatest violation of the laws in the infinite Realms, they were to be put to death as and immediately given their Second End.

When Pariah Dark, the Cowardly Tyrant King, is defeated and Danny fianlly takes the throne after a few centuries of training, the Observers hand him a compiled a list of names who violated these sacred laws.
They have him start with Earth and Danny's jaw hits the floor with what the charges he was seeing. He can already hear the chaos in the meeting room.
• Amanda Waller, Vandal Savage, Darkseid, Granny Goodness, a court of owls(?)...the list is long, and that's just Earth alone!
• Jack "The Goddamn Joker" Napier and a few of the more violent Rouges of Gotham are charged with Veil Destabilization.
Even Jason Peter Todd Wayne...the Red Hood!? Danny can probably work something with Jason, force him into therapy sessions (along with the whole damn family) with Jazz and a couple cleansing sessions and supplements from Frostbite...the others had to go...
The continued slaughter of the innocent, combined with the suffering they endured and the misery felt by Shades who couldn't move on was making the veil deteriorate at dangerous speeds. New pits would form across the city eventually as a result.
Lady Gotham has done everything she can to keep the madness from happening but she can't hold it back any longer. Her core is ready to shatter under the stress and is constantly in agony, but she won't abandon her knights, despite Danny's pleas to save herself.
There's a certain brigade of furry's who may or may not like this news but said brigade had no choice but to take it on the chin. They have children who Defied Death in their ranks and the Realms are not afraid to destroy anyone foolish enough to stop them.
• Lex Luther is charged with crimes against humanity. And several other violations in regards to unethical experimentation.
One sticks out to Danny.
Lex used Danny's stolen DNA from a stray core shard from the Guys in White, who he was was funding in secret, even after they were disbanded, to create a clone comprised of the Earth's resident Kryptonian, the bald bastard, and himself to kill and replace said Kryptonian...the guy who literally helps save the earth time and time again from doom.
...Yeah, Lex is undoubtedly, fucked beyond total comprehension. Anyone defending him was risking all-out war with the Infinite Realms.
But hey, at least Danny was finally having child of his own! The little tyke is only a few years old in the tube, Ellie's visits are far and in-between and Danny's status as a Halfa made him sterile and develop an embarrassingly strong case of baby fever.
He's sure the ghosts from Krypton would love to help out in raising Conner in case Kal-El wasn't really planning on being around the boy. After all, being cloned himself, Danny knows the emotional baggage that comes with being violated to this degree by your enemy.
He just hopes the guy can come around and accept the little guy...

So. This was going to be a problem. Danny felt like he was going to scream, even as Dan laughed at their misfortune. Give a tour of some of the Ghost Zone. Fine. Was going well even! They’d even found some sort of dino-ghost zone that his parents were really excited about!

I love your SOA au! I was curious tho, seeing as you are going with a history repeats itself/sins of the father type theme, did you have any thought in adding Mari to the mix? It was something i thought of when I saw your art work about raising sons that arnt yours and stuff. seeing as Mari in the comics is dicks biological daughter. Or would you think in this au Dick some how changes the cycle?

Thank you so much! I had to google who she was since I didn't read any of the comics she's in lol. I think that Dick would try his hardest to try and not let history repeat itself for any biological child. But with his choices, he'd be somewhat helpless to stop it, even with Damian. (Like in rare moments of clarity he sees the cycle, but there is only so much he can fix.)
It's more open-ended, vague allusions to the future that it could go either way with the effort that Dick put in to try and stop the cycle. like in SoA if any of Jax's sons repeated the cycle even after being taken away.

Shazam identity reveal AU where the league knew Captain Marvel was a child named Billy since day one but he stubbornly refuses to transform or tell his full name for the whole 4 years he’s been on the team and everyone’s so confused because they know like. 95% of his identity already why is he hiding this specific part?
They start thinking he’s some kind of criminal or had a dark past he’s hiding from them. They know so much about him, though. They know he’s homeless, they know he’s had bad foster homes, they know his parents died tragically and his uncle stole his inheritance. he shares everything. Everything except the one thing that would show he truly trusts them. Why? What have they done to convince him they weren’t trustworthy?
Then. He accidentally transforms back during a battle. Batman instantly scans his face with the facial scanner that’s built into his mask because he’s paranoid as hell of course he has one of those. And he sees exactly why he hid it for so long.
The tension in the air is so palpable that the entire league feels it and they look back and forth between them waiting for the bomb to drop.
Cyborg is the one who blurts it out (he IS a facial scanner)
“Your last name is BAT SON??”
Billy groans into his hands in defeat and Batman sighs, finally understanding why the secret was kept so desperately.
From then on the league refuses to call Billy anything other than Big Red Robin or just Big Robin. Robin but big. they call Batman Captain Dad at every possible opportunity. Whenever Billy does something wrong someone threatens to tell his dad on him then call Batman. The robins last names may as well not exist because from then on they are only ever called Damian Bat-son or Red Hood Bat-son or Stephanie Bat-daughter, except for Red Robin who’s called Little Red Robin or, if they’re feeling brave, the Little Red Cheese. The bat children and Billy’s nicknames become so confusing and meshed together that conversations get very confusing and the names just become interchangeable. The press is convinced that Captain Marvel is Batman’s secret love child within a week.
It gets so chaotic so fast, no one knows how this happened but names mean nothing anymore and Batman is getting a DNA test. So much opportunity for chaos!

Uh,, no one knows au where Danny is essentially 'dead' in Amity. He's under a new identity, adopted by Bruce Wayne— or rather, Batman, himself. But he doesn't talk about the past he left behind—no, the past that tried to kill him and wage war to a whole nother dimension. There was no more 'Phantom', either. There was only 'Charon', an enigma of a 'hero' who helps the living and guides the dead.
He doesn't say anything about ghosts, the ghost zone, anti-ecto laws, Amity Park, the truth behind his biology, and more importantly, ectoplasm. A dead man tells no tales, after all.
So when his father showed pictures of a government laboratory filled with glowing organs, cores, and green green green—

He looks up with resignation and emptiness in his eyes, his hood pulled down revealing his whispy white hair.
His posture shifts.
A crown like ornament with star tips appear on his head, the bottom tips of his robe connected to his hood becomes lit by green fire, and a large shadowy figure suddenly appear behind him, a silhouette of an armor and sword made itself known.
"Five minutes. Give me a reason to not annihilate this planet to the ground."

royal consort au brainrot
the royal consort au by @dcxdpdabbles makes me lose my mind so i have to share this so i can go to bed:
danny has his own wikipedia page though there is ongoing debate on whether they should use present tense (since he is alive) or past tense (seeing as he is engaged to the ghost king/high king of infinity realm)
some part of the social media romanticizes danny's situation as a hades and persephone or cinderella or both. you just know that some girls and boys out there are maddeningly jealous that danny manages to bag a king who is seemingly deeply in love with him.
unfortunately, he becomes a standard of beauty (twink, short, black-hair and blue eyes) because somehow rumors leak that phantom finds him the epitome of beauty. bruce is a bit worried since tim sort of fits the bill. in another city, billy batson/shazam is being teased by his adoptive siblings also for that precise reason
surprisingly, danny can be a charming speaker which people thinks it's part of why phantom fell in love with him.
bruce (and a portion of the world, including constantine) is concern since danny is still young (not sure how old he is in original prompt so i left it vague) and this whole thing; being the most popular public figure in the world and being haunted constantly by paparazzi, his joining with the ruler of the dead, the political between his home world and his future one, might damage his psyche sooner or later and bruce is trying to find a contingency plan for that.
and what's even is batman's contingency plans for this kind of situation, i don't know. im not that smart but clark, diane and constantine and the flash family will need to be there. to make sure bruce doesn't accidentally go too far.
also, this one comes like a hammer to my head but what if one day, danny feels an itchy sort of feeling in his throat but waves it off as a cold? he regrets it when barely a minute later he coughs out a palmful of blood. danny might be in outdoor place or in the justice league headquarter but the point is: everyone panics. especially once he loses consciousness.

someone, either the leftover resentful giw or amanda waller, decides to poison him.
maddie innocently makes lunch for her son, after finding a new bag of spice for the meat. that spice contains blood blossom, which is deadlier for ghost (or half-ghost) if you eat it. of course, clockwork will ensure no one finds out danny is a halfa by making the machine detecting it as allergy, if a bit unsual one and danny will still live, if a bit disgruntle and so done with his half life already
