The Great Nation of Alyera had known only prosperity since the young monarch of the royal family took the throne. Great things were promised, and delivered, and nothing seemed to be able to stop the growing bonds within the nation.
Until the monarch’s consort perished…
Until you died… Due to an assassination attempt on the monarch’s life.
Wrought with grief and anger, the Monarch of Alyera promised revenge on all those that took their love from them; no matter the lives that may be taken in order to conquer such a feat.
A land of prosperity and harmony soon falling into war and bloodshed. Something that no one could stop due to the power of the royal family.
It’s for that very reason that the rebel group enacted a ritual that would transport someone to the past; before the kind monarch turned dark.
It’s for that very reason you were resurrected— from your place in limbo— to go back in time and stop the love of your life from turning into something they never should have been.
Will you be able to succeed? Even if it means letting them fall in love with someone else?
Demo Features
This story is 18+. Please be aware of this before continuing forward!
Customizable MC: name, appearance, gender, sexuality, parts of your background, hobbies, and a smattering of other things!
Go back in time to a time before the love of your life became the love of your life. Before they were wrought with so much grief they turned into something you could never imagine.
Will you be able to stop yourself from falling in love with them again? Especially if it means saving them from themself?
Romance a single RO that will hopefully offer enough enjoyment that you don’t mind that there isn’t more! (Customizable appearance— barring their height and few other things.)
Remember your mission… Especially when you’re back in the future and have to deal with the reality of what happened to your love after your death.

King/Queen/Liege Shaerian of House Elanil
Shaerian, or simply Shae, has been the prospective heir of Alyera since they were born— bypassing their older brother completely. With a gentle heart, that’s filled with compassion, and a warriors spirit, it’s no wonder that Shaerian would later become the ruling monarch of the great elven kingdom.
It’s only when they chose you, a simple human, as their consort that any sort of disfavor for their rule became known, but Shae wouldn’t hear any of it. They didn’t care as long as they had you by their side…
If only you had been able to stay there.
Set Appearance: Shaerian is 6’4” with a lithe/athletic build that all elves seem to possess. Their elegance being negated by the great strength and dexterity of their species. (Hair, eye, and skin color are all customizable. Along with other things too.)
M!Shae has his hair to just above his ears. F!Shae has hers to just beneath her shoulder blades. NB!Shae has theirs to their jawline.

Note
does anyone know the name or the author of this IF? I remember it is a wip IF and it involves the MC being dead and their S/O who is an elf trying to resurrecting them by enticing some sort of a civil war. i remember the ending of the game was the MC being resurrected and time was reset.

I know you are all still Christmas-ing if you Christmas but I… NSFW
Does the phrase “it got away from me” mean anything when it comes from me? I have three things in the go they have all gotten away from me.
I swear this Joao (Past Imperfect) was supposed to be short. Just Joao / Ruben
“Stuffed into the corner on the bus, held in place by João Cancelo’s glare and then later his shoulders, shielding him, especially from Pedri. It wasn’t a deep bite and João feels João Cancelo’s eyes more than Rúben’s teeth. “

Climate Activists Glue Themselves to Van Gogh Painting in London | Smart News
The van Gogh painting is one of the Courtauld Gallery’s best-known works. Courtesy of Just Stop Oil Earlier this week, two climate protesters glued their hands to a Vincent van Gogh painting of a bucolic countryside in Arles, France. The move was meant not only to attract attention to climate change, but also “to call for the government to end new oil and gas and for art institutions to join…

(sits down opposite you in a booth at a ice cream parlor) i think a really important point of shadowpeach after reconciliation is the interweaving of all facets of their relationship and them struggling to meld those into some kind of cohesive "friendship" or whatever
and what I mean is that, like, there's always going to be some underlying resentment because wukong did a murder. so on Macaque's part, there's always going to be this anger and resentment and this hate that he has to deal with while also trying to piece their relationship into something that fits.
there's always going to be some guilt on wukong's part because he did a murder. there's going to be some guilt and an understanding that if Macaque, at any point, doesn't want to be friends, wukong understands why because of what happened between them. so he's saddened by the fact that things could end at any point and he doesn't have the right to try and fight for their relationship. i don't think that would stop him, but he'd be aware of it.
and then there's always going to be these echoes of their past haunting them. of what they were. because on some level, they're both still grieving that. they both miss that time in their lives, and that leads to anger, especially on macaque's part, because he lost something he coveted and treasured. and wukong also, because even if he killed macaque accidentally, he's allowed to miss that time also. because he wishes with all his heart that they can return to that past where none of the bad shit happened.
and then there's the threat of what they are now. broken and shattered people, jaded and knowledgeable of the world, they see these crumbled pieces and the feelings dwelling within themselves and look to each other and say, "Hey, can we really fix this? Can this really turn into something tangible and discernible?"
because the whole point -- (moves and sits beside you in the booth) the whole point is that they look at that scattered mess and decide yes, it's a broken mess that can become something worthy of being looked at. and though it's going to take time to put the pieces together and, in so doing, it's possible that we mishandle the pieces and they break further or the glue we're using doesn't work. and one of us may give up for a while, but we have to keep going.
the process of piecing their relationship together is difficult. they can cut themselves, hurt themselves or each other intentionally or unintentionally. it's a messy process. it's tricky and annoying and frustrating but, despite that, they both decide to keep working on it together.
and that's the reconciliation process. because we get to see that ugliness. it's not this pretty thing. it's not perfect and not everything it solved. it's only the beginning because, in reconciling, they both looked at that mess of pieces on the floor and then looked to each other and said, "Yeah, we can fix this."
but the thing also is -- this is wukong and macaque. and they're a little stupid. and they're prone to mistakes. so whatever they make at the end, whatever they piece together...
chances are it's not going to be beautiful at all.

“If I had known that the last time I kissed your lips would be the last time I would ever do so?” They lower their head, mouth hovering above yours. “I would have savored each second, each sound, and every single emotion I felt during it. I would have held you in my arms for just a bit longer; to memorize the feel of your body against mine. To imprint your heart, your very soul, with my own. Maybe that way I would have died alongside you?”
They step back with a soft shake of their head. An almost cynical smile curling their lips.
“Maybe I did.”

there are no visuals in wolf 359, technically, but the sound design is so efficient at evoking such vivid and specific science fiction environments that it's hard not to feel like that, too, serves as some sort of commentary on the humans-without-humanity technological aspirations of cutter & pryce, in contrast with the average people that goddard employs.
the hephaestus is blinking lights and dials and crt monitors and clutter; it has the background noise, the static and jank and creaking metal of old, clunky, cobbled-together retrofuturism. it's a spacecraft that exists in a world where space travel is old enough for all its technology to be out of date. it's the bridge of the nostromo, it's the millennium falcon with its faulty hyperdrive, it's the bebop. it's the paper print-outs; it's their on-board entertainment of one single vhs copy of home alone 2. the hephaestus is falling apart, it's hostile to human life, it's rotting from the inside, but it's both alive and lived in.
the sol is white and sleek and sterile. everything meticulously in place, and all conveniences the hephaestus is too old and too unimportant to qualify for - artificial gravity, cutter's designated smoking section, etc. the sol is also hostile architecture, but not through years of neglect; it's designed that way. it's progress without people. eiffel calling pryce 'lady imacbeth' is funny, but also, like - yes! the sol, and goddard futuristics laboratories, all of that, should look like the inside of an apple store, and pryce is the same thing, personified.
this isn't to romanticize an idealized past, but - aside from the class differential, the corners goddard cuts, the way both the hephaestus and its crew are treated as disposable assets - i think as a form of visual (or auditory) shorthand, there is something to eiffel's attachment to physical, antiquated things, technology he can fix by hand, and what that reflects as resistance to streamlined advancements, the "greater good" with the least concern for the individual. that he's unbearably nostalgia-brained about his pop culture, and that he's an analog man who is concerned with real, genuine, tangible connection and communication in the face of increasingly arcane, "big picture" capitalist-driven digitization and alienation.

There is something so comforting about characters who choose not to be evil.
Like, Luke Skywalker stands on the precipice of not coming back, almost let’s his rage and fear overtake him, and you can see him realize that. You can see the moment where he makes the conscious decision to take the hard way out of this. You can see him choose to stop, choose to control his own impulses, and choose to show mercy on a being that has not showed or been shown mercy in a very long time.
Or Cissie King-Jones in the Young Justice run. Her school was attacked, the woman who got Cissie out of her horrible living situation was murdered, and Cissie was inadvertently shown the tape that the murderer made of killing her, where he made her beg to live but shot her anyway. Cissie is rightfully pissed. Cissie hunts down the shooter. Cissie makes him beg for his life, makes him fear that she’s going to kill him. And, Superboy comes in to remind her that she doesn’t want to be a killer, but it’s Cissie herself who stops. It’s Cissie herself who realizes that she doesn’t want to be in this position, that she’s scared and feels alone and vulnerable and she doesn’t know what to do. Cissie pulls herself out of the situation, she decides that she can’t kill someone who isn’t worth going to prison for. She makes that choice, even though it’s the most difficult choice she’s made.
Peter Parker’s violent thoughts are often portrayed as a joke, especially early on, but Peter is always holding himself back. He is constantly making the choice not to hurt people. He is always conscious of his super strength and how easily he could hurt someone or kill someone with it. He is always aware of his own potential to cause pain. But he chooses not to. He chooses to keep his touch light, even when he could make the excuse he was distracted. He is always making that choice, he always makes the choice to be a better person, he always tries so damn hard to be a halfway decent person, even on days he wishes he could be awful and selfish and cruel.
There’s just something about characters who have walked that line. Characters who stopped themselves and thought “I don’t want to do this.” Characters who are scared and who worry that their capacity for evil alone makes them less good. Characters who decide that it doesn’t matter, because they’re going to try to be a better person whether the universe allows it or not.
I don’t know. I just love those characters who had to go through Hell to be what they eventually become. Characters who are broken down and build themselves back up even stronger. Characters who put the reins on their impulses and decide that they’re in control, not their instincts and not anybody who might desire to control them.
There’s something immensely comforting that some of the most powerful characters in media are not made any less powerful or any less heroic because of things they cannot control, like their thoughts. They can only control how they respond to those thoughts. That’s what separates them from villains, that’s what makes them so powerful, they don’t choose the easy way out of things. Their willpower is stronger than steel. And it’s nice.

Currently hating myself and every word composed by my fingers, but I'm pushing through to get to the hopefully more interesting part.
Anyway, some headcanons regarding teen Hector and his relationships with the Tepes family coming from my WIP.
~
As soon as Hector earned his title and could stand equal to Isaac, Lord Dracula became his formal mentor, and kept a closer eye on him and his progress. He was a beast of a man, whose power and authority radiated from him and sent ghastly chills on Hector’s skin from the door of his throne room; however, despite how tiny Hector felt in his presence, his deep voice soothed his fears, and urged him to listen to him. Lord Dracula had little need for words: a nod, a tugged corner of his mouth, a hand on Hector’s shoulder that barely scratched him with his claws, the smallest acknowledgment was enough to make Hector’s knees tremble and fill his chest with emotions he had no name for, new sensations that he couldn’t get enough of.
His wife, Lady Lisa, was a more affectionate woman. She’d approach him delicately, bending forward to talk to him eye-to-eye in the same tone Hector used with his animal friends. Whenever she spoke to him, he’d bite his lip and look at his own feet and wait until she got tired of him and walked away and then he’d have to wait until his heart slowed down. Lady Lisa wasn’t scary like her husband, but he still had the instinct to protect his Devils from her, in case she got angry with him and killed them.
He was more comfortable around Prince Adrian, whenever he was alone. The dhampir boy seemed to dislike having to use words, which suited Hector just fine. He had no interest in the art of Forging either, which meant he gave the laboratory a wide berth, but Hector often found him huddled in remote corners of the library, nose buried in some book about medicine. He, too, had a Fairy friend to keep him company, bigger and more vivacious than Hector’s own; she’d sing with her tiny voice for her young Master, and the sound helped Hector studying the increasingly confusing material, bestiaries and grimoires about demonology written in discolored ink bound to give him a headache in less than an hour. But Prince Adrian would startle and run off as soon as he’d hear Isaac barge in looking for Hector (a full minute before the boy actually made his presence known: he couldn't manage to catch him by surprise), and he’d spend too much time hidden behind his mother’s skirts, which made Hector wrinkle his nose in confusion.
So Isaac was his only friend in the castle.

Scum Villain mains rock because by being an sv main you've already given up the facade of being pretentious. It's not like being one of those weird white cql reviewers who call the show the height of queer cinema or whatever, it's not like being a tgcf fan who has to sell you on why hualian invented love in a book longer than the Bible. No one's disillusioned about how unrefined Scum Villain is, ok. It's an isekai 1st webnovel written by a high schooler. It's consistently the lowest rated of the books, it has 1 surviving (light a candle for the manhua) adaptation that looks like an extended PS3 cutscene, reviewers and adjacent fans alike tend to overlook it because you can't gloss it up as some great and pure queer romance that breaks societal boundaries- and in a way, I think that's really why it's so nice to find a home here.
