If you can't even gather enough strength to get out of bed, that's okay. If you can't get up to light deity candles, that's okay. They won't hate you for it. They will understand.

Allow yourself to rest. Even if you didn't do anything yesterday, allow yourself to rest. Your body will let you know when it's ready to do things. Even if that's only to do small, simple things. Your body will tell you.

Midsummer

Celebrated around June 24th, but with the event happening on June 21st, Midsummer is the sister celebration of Midwinter/Yule/Christmas.

Bonfires were lit to ward of evil spirits, now that days will be shorter every evening after this one, giving them more dark hours to taunt the living. Various beliefs exist that plants or herbs would have magical powers during this night.

Although Christmas has very probable Celtic origins, there’s consensus amongst historians that Midsummer is Germanic of origin. St Eligius (St. Elooi) forbids the late Merovingians, early Carolingians in modern day Flanders to celebrate midsummer, as it is not accepted in their new Christian religion. “Litha” or midsummer, is the Germanic origin of the modern Dutch word for spring “lente”

Similar to Midwinter being a commemoration of Christ’s birth, Midsummer was attested to the birth of St John the Baptist to counteract the pagan celebrations (hence the day differences in both Hollidays 21-24).

The celebration is still popular in Northern Europe, while heavy Christian oppression in the 16th century dwindled the amount of people who celebrate in Western Europe. Recent revivals of Paganism or Ásatrú are bringing a reinterpretation of this celebration back.

i’ve been devoted to Aphrodite & Hermes for a few years now, but i’ve never actually “heard” them speak to me and we don’t really have a direct line of communication—this used to make me sad because i know so many people that chat it up with their deities on a regular basis, so i thought maybe i was doing something wrong, or maybe they just didn’t want me (which seems silly now looking back on it).

however! i’ve recently come to terms with the fact that i’m a lil crazy! i have obsessive compulsive tendencies because of my autism & i’m already very disconnected from reality, so i think my deities keep their distance in order to keep me safe! it’s not a lack of love, if anything it comes from a place of divine love and knowing what’s best to keep me tethered!

just a lil ramble, but i love my deities SO much! :’)

I've had this blog for who knows how long and I never wrote a text post to pin lol so here we go...

Hi! My name's Jess, I'm from Argentina and here's a few things about me:

✨ In case you haven't noticed already, I have ADHD. Went undiagnosed for 25 years so yea, that was fun. I also struggle with depression and anxiety.

✨ Intersectional feminist. Pro choice. BLACK LIVES MATTER. TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS. GUN CONTROL. FREE HEALTHCARE. FREE EDUCATION.

✨ I wasn't raised a socialist, I found Spend Rich Money dot com at a formative age and that did the trick.

✨ I've been studying witchcraft and the occult for almost 10 years now and I'm a practicing (ish) pagan since mid 2022. Started working with Odin and Freyja. Tried avoiding Loki for a while but it was futile, the chaotic energy was too strong, and they were SO persistent. They even took my partner's appearance in a dream.

✨ I have 5 tattoos, for now. I used to have a piercing on my ring finger. It was awesome, until I almost yanked it out and then it wasn't. Now I have two small scars on my finger as a reminder of my youthful stupidity.

✨ Elder emo, turned goth babe. I very much enjoy horror movies, loud metal music, playing videogames and taking photos of pretty much anything. Specially food. I love food. Love cooking and baking.

✨ I can't whistle and I hate cheese.

✨ Did I already mention that I LOVE football? Actual football, not the abomination the U.S. citizens call "football". No, I refuse to call them the A-word. America is a whole continent. Argentinian who loves football!? shocking I know. My favorite football club is Club Altético River Plate, a.k.a, El Millonario (the Millionaire) ironic, I know. Us fans are either called Millonarios/Millos or Gallinas (🐔) . Proud to be called any. Still, EAT THE RICH.

✨ LOTR and D&D kinda nerd. I can recite 90% of LOTR Fellowship of The Ring extended version BY HEART. It's my comfort film, alongside with Scream. I read The Hobbit as a teen, long before the movies (which ignoring a few CGI malfunctions blew my mind, you can fight me).

✨ I can kinda sing a little.

Is there anyone interested in a witchcraft newsletter or something of the like? I'm thinking about maybe starting a once a month newsletter that goes over the moon cycles of said month, correspondences, witchy holidays/days of observation, etc. Maybe even adding a section on crystals or herbs, interviews with other witchy creators. I've got a good amount of spare time on my hands, so it might be pretty fun. I do also want to add beginner friendly sections with tips and tricks for newbies. Let me know if anyone is interested

How do you choose your allfather, matron, and guide? What do those mean exactly? ~~ A Norse baby witch.

Hi there! sorry this took so long! I just saw this and if this has been years i'm SO SORRY. I've been super missing in action due to work and school and AHHH.

Anyway.

I chose my allfather, matron and guide through my own practice, I like to imagine the idea of "following a bouncing ball" meaning that a person never falls to the same path every single time, while someone may be working with loki for now, means that in five years or even 20 years from now, they may not be working with the celtic or even other pantheons. A good way of finding as well is by looking for animals that show you for now. Like when i first started working with this blog, I was an odin follower with mother freyja and guide skadii. However, right now I just work with a guide/matron by the name of Arachne (spiders are my thing <3 as well as bugs and networking~ and being creative).

As someone who has prophetic dreams/visions, can any of Y'all tell me why I keep having a reoccurring dream of an old childhood crush (using the word crush lightly cause it was for a week tops). Like I keep having consistent conversations with him & it happens at the same places. It's so weirdly consistent.
