Exploring the Winter Wonders of Ireland
Tumblr media
Winter in Ireland holds a mystical charm that beckons travelers to discover its hidden gems amidst the chill. From quaint towns to majestic mountains, Ireland offers a tapestry of experiences for those willing to venture off the beaten path. Before embarking on your winter escapade, adequate preparation is key to ensuring a smooth and memorable journey.
First and foremost, visitors to Ireland must consider the necessary documentation for entry. While citizens of certain countries may not require a visa for short visits, it's essential to verify entry requirements well in advance. Additionally, travelers should secure an International Driving Permit Ireland (IDP) if planning to operate a vehicle during their stay. The process of obtaining an IDP typically involves submitting an application through authorized channels in one's home country.
Once the paperwork is in order, it's time to delve into Ireland's enchanting landscapes. While popular destinations like Dublin and Galway offer vibrant city experiences, winter presents an opportune time to explore the country's lesser-known treasures. Small towns and countryside hamlets exude a quaint charm, with cozy pubs and winding streets inviting exploration.
For those seeking adventure amidst nature's grandeur, Ireland's mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop for hiking and mountain biking. From the rugged peaks of the Mourne Mountains to the rolling hills of Connemara, outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of trails to traverse. Proper preparation, including suitable attire and equipment, is essential for tackling the terrain safely.
When it comes to transportation, travelers have the option of navigating Ireland's landscapes by personal vehicle or public transport. While renting a car offers flexibility and autonomy, public buses and trains provide convenient access to various regions. Ultimately, the choice depends on individual preferences and itineraries.
Accommodation options abound in Ireland, catering to a range of budgets and preferences. From cozy bed and breakfasts to budget-friendly hostels, there's no shortage of places to rest weary feet after a day of exploration. For those seeking alternative lodging experiences, platforms like Couchsurfing offer opportunities to connect with locals and immerse oneself in authentic Irish hospitality.
For travelers keen on embarking on extended biking adventures, renting a vehicle or bike is a straightforward process in Ireland. Numerous rental agencies cater to tourists, offering a range of vehicles and bicycles to suit different needs. Familiarizing oneself with local traffic rules and regulations is imperative for safe and enjoyable travel on Ireland's roads.
As dusk falls, adventurous souls may find solace in the rugged beauty of Ireland's desolate landscapes. From the windswept expanses of the Burren to the haunting beauty of the Connemara wilderness, solo camping offers a unique opportunity to commune with nature under the star-studded sky. However, it's essential to exercise caution and adhere to Leave No Trace principles to minimize environmental impact.
For those seeking adrenaline-fueled thrills, desert safaris provide an exhilarating way to explore Ireland's untamed terrain. Guided tours offer insight into the country's rich cultural heritage and natural history, with opportunities to spot native wildlife and marvel at geological wonders.
In conclusion, a winter sojourn in Ireland promises an unforgettable journey through landscapes steeped in history and legend. By taking the time to prepare adequately and immerse oneself in the beauty of the Emerald Isle, travelers can create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

The Pacific Ocean (Jegulus One Shot)
They'd been planning this trip for months. Or, more accurately, James have been planning this trip for months. He'd been so excited planning out their first real adventure together. He and Regulus had taken a trip once before, but only to Ireland, and it had rained so much they'd hardly bothered to leave the cabin. This was a real adventure somewhere far off: Sydney, Australia.
The only thing he hadn't accounted for was the time difference.
"It's like they flipped the bloody clock over," James groaned as he woke up hours before his alarm for the third day in a row. They'd been waking up too early and then finding it impossible to stay up late.
Their trip to Sydney had involved lots of activities on the itinerary, but about half of them had been scrapped so far.
Regulus sat up with a yawn. He'd been up for half an hour already, but hadn't wanted to move it disturb James. Now that James was up, he gave up all pretense.
"Shower then breakfast?" he asked.
James nodded into his pillow.
"You go first. Then me."
"Not together?" Regulus asked.
That got James up.
An hour later they were showered, changed, and ready for the day, but it was hardly past 6:30.
They found a cute brunch spot and made their way there. The streets were deserted as they walked. They were the only ones in the cafe at that hour, but it was nice weather for an outdoor meal, so Regulus didn't mind.
After they'd eaten, they sat on a bench in a park to plan out the day.
James yawned widely as he looked at the itinerary.
"Aquarium next, right?"
Regulus shook his head sadly.
"It doesn't open for two and a half more hours."
"Oh," James said, "well we were going to go to the maritime museum too. When's that open?"
"Same thing, 10:00," Regulus said. He tried to be gentle, because he could see the disappointment written all over James' face.
"I'm guessing the other museums are all the same then?" He kicked at the dirt where his legs hung down from the bench.
"Yeah," Regulus replied. He wished he had something positive to add, but nothing on their list was open at 7:00 in the morning.
"Maybe we should just go home," James said with a sigh, "I've mucked this all up and didn't plan well enough. I'm sorry."
Regulus took his hand and held on firmly.
"No," he said, "don't do that. We can salvage this. You did a great job planning for this trip, it's not your fault the bloody clock is upside down."
James gave him a half-hearted smile and squeezed his hand, and it felt too much like he was going to give up on the trip and leave for home.
"No giving up," Regulus ordered. "We can go to the coast, see the Pacific Ocean."
James perked up.
"I've never seen the Pacific Ocean before."
"Yes I know," Regulus said. It had been so important to James that they see it, and Regulus refused to leave without him getting that chance. "Maritime Museum and Aquarium afterwards. They'll be open then."
"Yeah!" James said cheerfully. He stood up, still holding Regulus' hand. "Let's go see the ocean."
Regulus stood up too, and carefully collected his belongings. When he looked up, James was watching him lovingly.
"Thank you," he said. "For salvaging this."
Regulus nodded.
"You made a great itinerary, and we can still try to do all of it. We just might have to do it out of order."
"Yeah!" James said cheerfully. "But still, thanks. I'm glad we aren't giving up on this. I'm really glad I get to be here with you."
Regulus brought James' hand to his lips and kissed it.
"You planned the perfect trip. But it's okay to adapt it a bit." James' smile was sappy sweet and loving. "Okay enough of that. Let's go to the ocean."
"To the ocean!" James echoed, before apparating them to Vaucluse Viewpoint, and one of the most beautiful views of an ocean either of them had ever seen.

What can a wedding ring say?
Here is the post you all wanted me to write (post) sooner, based on the final result of the poll:
Today, I’m going to share the project I’ve been working on for a while. I’ve been observing wedding rings for a long time, and now it’s time to share every single detail I observed; from their presence to their absence, and even the tiniest scratches and tan lines they leave behind.
Let’s begin with the material: The chosen material and design reflect one's character, while the inclusion of specific gemstones may indicate sentimentality or a desire for luxury. In certain cases, the material itself may even hint at one's financial standing.
Look for a date/name: Another noteworthy aspect to observe is the engravings adorning the rings. They offer a glimpse into the emotional connection shared between partners. They often show a date or a name (The date on the ring is often the wedding date, obviously).
Tiny scratches or well-maintained ?: A meticulously kept ring signifies attention to detail, while signs of wear and scratches may suggest a more adventurous, hands-on existence. Such marks can be a sign of a person’s occupation as well.
There is a peculiar observation I must share: I have noticed that widows often choose to wear their husband's wedding rings as necklaces—a sentiment-filled gesture. The ring, too large to fit on their finger, serves as a cherished memento of their late husbands, transformed into a necklace to keep their memory close. Additionally, recently widowed women are also likely to wear their own engagement rings due to their sentiments.
Culture: Now, let’s talk about the placement of these rings. There are some countries, where people wear their wedding rings on their right hand. So the ring placement can tell a lot about where someone is coming from.
These are the countries where people wear their rings on their right hand: Germany, Chile, Colombia, Austria, Russia, Denmark, Georgia, Greece, Norway, Poland, Spain and Venezuela.
Conversely, nations like Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Iran, Mexico, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Slovenia favour the left hand. Intriguing, isn't it?
You can read more about this part here.
Ah, and now we come to my favourite part—the absence of a ring. Its meaning can vary greatly, encompassing personal choice and even professions that discourage its wear. Allow me to elaborate further:
Personal choice plays a significant role, as some individuals opt not to wear their wedding rings, defying tradition. So yes, you may encounter married individuals who forgo the wearing of engagement rings altogether—a matter of personal preference.
Consider also the implications regarding marital status. Not everyone is married, and the absence of a ring can indicate being single or even divorced. However, I must caution against hastily jumping to conclusions based solely on the absence of a ring. There may be more to the story than meets the eye.
Tan lines: And let us not forget the telltale tan lines left behind by these rings. Though sometimes challenging to discern in poor lighting or other unfavourable conditions, they can provide valuable insights. Tan lines may indicate consistent wear, an occupation or engagement in outdoor activities, or even a sun-soaked holiday.
Allergies, skin sensitivities, or medical conditions can render wearing a wedding ring uncomfortable or impractical, leading some individuals to forgo its presence due to these constraints. I’ve met many people that are married but don’t wear a ring due to skin sensitivities.
As I always say, you have to observe the person completely. You have to gather all the pieces of the puzzle, you cannot complete if you only stare at one single piece!
These are all the different aspects that I’ve observed till now, and are based on deductive reasoning. So if you met someone who has a ring tan line, don’t jump to the conclusion that they’ve been travelling. Look for other clues. Observe the whole thing.

Imbolc - Spring's Beginning
Tumblr media
Originating from Gaelic tradition, this sabbat recognizes winter's gradual decay into spring. Snow melts, days begin to get longer, and plants spring up from the fresh soil. Animals become more active and the world begins to brighten. As a whole, Imbolc signifies a time for rebirth, rejuvenation, and new growth.
•───────•°•❀•°•───────•
This is the first festival of the Wheel of the Year, and marks the midpoint between the Winter Solstice (Yule) and the Spring Equinox (Ostara). It is held on February 01 each year. It is a powerful time for a witch to get in tune with the Earth and its natural cycles, and to align oneself with nature's processes.
Witchy practices for Imbolc:
show gratitude for the Earth, for nature, and for the coming of spring
plant seeds for your indoor or outdoor garden
care for and fertilize your plants
eat mindfully and thankfully
clean your home, both physically and spiritually (spring cleaning & cleansing)
make concrete, actionable plans to reach your goals
reaffirm love to loved ones, friends, companion animals
create blessed/holy water, and use it to bless one's home and loved ones
Brigid
Although I am an agnostic witch, Imbolc is closely associated with the deity Brigid (or St. Brigid). Brigid watches over and protects Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man, and as such many witches, pagans, and even Christians feast or celebrate Imbolc as a method of worship and reverence.
The Brigid's Cross is a decoration woven traditionally from corn reeds and hung over doors and windows to protect from negative entities and unwanted spirits.

˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚⋆˚✿˖°˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚⋆˚✿˖°˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚⋆˚✿˖°
Happy Imbolc, witches! Rejoice as today marks the last day of winter. Spring awaits, and with it good tidings. Take care of yourselves and stay warm.

✧ FAMILY ✧
Father: Edward John Whitten [deceased, 1966-1997]
Tumblr media
Born on January 22, 1966, Edward was the second son of George and Mary Whitten, joining elder brother, Robert George (then 3). Edward had a good childhood, growing up in the city of Cork until the age of fifteen and spending his final years at home in the city of Cobh. His childhood, in general, could be described as idyllic as his family was well off and he had a good relationship with his older brother. At the age of 18, Edward decided to study at a university in Dublin, where he majored in history with a concentration in Irish and Celtic history. In his fourth year at university, Edward did a semester at a university in London where he met Eleanora Blythe and they became friends quickly. He also decided to get his PhD from the same London university, where he furthered his friendship with Eleanora.
Edward began dating Eleanora when he was twenty-five and they dated for two years before marrying in 1993, when he was twenty-seven. They agreed to wait to have children until their PhDs were completed and on February 28, 1997, their only children, Jack Edward and Benedict Jasper, were born. Edward adored his sons, doting on them the best he could.
Unfortunately, Edward’s time with his sons was cut short in November of 1997. While researching an ancient Celtic settlement, Edward and his wife disappeared without a trace. Their twin sons were found alone, and an extensive search entailed but nothing was ever found. Eventually, in 2025, the Whittens were discovered to have become the victims of a Dobhar-chú, a blood-thirsty creature that resembles a cross between a hound and a giant otter (or fish) and haunts the waters (and the land) of Ireland.
Jack doesn’t have any memories of his father, as he disappeared before Jack’s first birthday. He does wish that he could talk to his father, but Jack does hold some resentment towards his father’s disappearance which makes it difficult to talk about his father.
Faceclaim: Chris Evans
Mother: Eleanora Susan Whitten née Blythe [deceased, 1967-1997]
Tumblr media
Born on May 30, 1967, Eleanora was the only child of Jasper and Nancy Blythe. Growing up on the outskirts of London, Eleanora had a good childhood, full of love. She had a good relationship with her parents, who did their best to provide her with the best possible childhood. At the age of 18, Eleanora began attending a university in London, studying history with a concentration in women’s history. She met Edward Whitten during her third year, when he was a sort of exchange student in his fourth year. They became friends quite quickly, sharing their love for different aspects of history. Eleanora was secretly quite pleased when Edward continued on with his PhD at her university. She also pursued a PhD.
Eleanora began dating Edward when she was twenty-four and they dated for two years before marrying in 1993. They waited until after they had achieved their PhDs to have children and on February 28, 1997, their twin sons, Jack Edward and Benedict Jasper, were born. Eleanora adored her sons and doted on them as well as she could.
Unfortunately, Eleanora didn’t get to have as much time with her sons. Alongside her husband, Eleanora disappeared in November of 1997. It was discovered in 2025 that she was a victim of a Dobhar-cú.
Jack doesn’t have any memories of his mother, as she disappeared before his first birthday. He does have some photographs of her, but they aren’t the same. He struggles with resentment towards his mother for disappearing, but tends to ignore that and push it away.
Faceclaim: Hayley Atwell
Brother: Benedict Jasper Whitten
Tumblr media
Born at 11:16 pm on February 28, 1997, Benedict was the second son of Edward and Eleanora Whitten, seventeen minutes younger than Jack, a Ravenclaw. Jack and Ben are quite close, although they tend to bicker a lot over meaningless things. However, Jack will always have Ben’s back as he knows that Ben will always have his back. Jack would do almost anything for his brother, and he’s pretty sure that Ben is the only reason that Jack never got himself killed.
Faceclaim: Luke Newton
Tumblr media
Uncle: Robert George Whitten
Born on July 19, 1962, Robert was the first son of George and Mary Whitten and the older brother of Jack’s father, Edward. Robert took in Jack and his twin brother, Benedict, after their parents disappeared. Robert is also the father of Jack’s cousins, Darcy, Thea, and Clary. Robert is a kind man with the patience of a saint.
Jack has a good relationship with his uncle, even though he keeps a lot of stuff to himself and doesn’t share a lot with his uncle. Despite all of this, Jack knows that he can count on his uncle for things that are important.
Faceclaim: John Corbett
Aunt: Mai Louise Whitten née Daniels [deceased, 1965-2010]
Born on May 15, 1965, Mai is the adopted daughter of Clarence and Emily Daniels and the wife of Jack’s uncle Robert. Mai, along with her husband, took in her nephews when their parents disappeared. Mai is also the mother of Jack’s cousins, Darcy, Thea, and Clary. Mai had a good heart and a lot of patience. Unfortunately in 2010, Mai suffered a fatal stroke when an aneurysm that she had always had burst.
Jack had a good relationship with his aunt, but they were never very close. He knew that he could count on her, but always felt a bit disconnected and, anyways, they were different personalities. Jack was hurt and shocked by her death, though, and her sudden death fueled his reckless streak.
Faceclaim: Ali Wong
Cousin: Darcy Mai Whitten
Born on January 17, 1993, Darcy is the eldest daughter of Robert and Mai Whitten, four years older than Jack. Darcy is a muggle and has a very kind heart with a desire to help people. She enjoys being around others and was a fixture at the Lotus Clover’s check-in desk.
Jack has a good relationship with his cousin, but they aren’t close. They just don’t click, although he does know that Darcy always has his back and is someone that he can count on.
Faceclaim: Janel Parrish
Cousin: Thea Vinh Whitten
Born on May 29, 1997, Thea was the middle daughter of Mai and Robert Whitten, three months younger than Jack, and a Gryffindor. Jack has a good relationship with his cousin. They’re similar in personality and interests and just click. They do tend to get into a lot of trouble together and it’s often been said they would have gotten into even more trouble if Benedict wasn’t around.
Faceclaim: Lana Condor
Cousin: Clary Xuan Whitten
Born on October 19, 2002, Clary is the youngest daughter of Robert and Mai Whitten, five years younger than Jack. Clary is a muggle and more similar in personality to Benedict than Jack or her sisters. She doesn’t love being surrounded by people, but she does love the Lotus Clover and is the one to continue running the bed and breakfast after Robert retires.
Jack has a good relationship with his younger cousin. Clary is like a little sister to Jack and he can be protective over her, although Clary won’t hesitate to tell Jack to back off. He loves his little cousin and he knows that he can count on Clary for anything,

✧ HISTORY & BACKGROUND ✧
Place of Birth: London, England
Hometown: County Cork, Ireland
Childhood:
Born at 10:59 pm on February 28, 1997, Jack Edward Whitten was the first child born to Edward and Eleanora Whitten, joined seventeen minutes later by his twin brother, Benedict Jasper. The first nine months or so of Jack’s life were pretty happy and calm. Everything changed, though, in November of 1997 when his parents disappeared without a trace. From that point on, Jack and his brother were raised by their father’s older brother, Robert, and their aunt, Mai, alongside their cousins, Darcy (b. January 17, 1993), Thea (b. May 29, 1997), and Clary (b. October 19, 2002).
Growing up at a bed and breakfast was an interesting experience and it gave Jack a good childhood, even though there weren’t always the vacations and such that his school friends went on. At the age of six, Jack was diagnosed with dyslexia and his case was fairly moderate, as he was given the support and patience that he needed to make strides. In general, his childhood held a lot of love and was quite stable. That didn’t stop Jack from feeling like something was missing and doing reckless and stupid things. His recklessness continued until he was nearly thirty.
Hogwarts Years:
Upon starting Hogwarts, Jack was sorted into Slytherin, where he slowly carved out a niche for himself. He retained his recklessness, which only seemed to increase the older he got. During his time at Hogwarts, Jack discovered that he did not like quidditch, despite enjoying flying. He also managed to make a few good friends. In his sixth year, Jack began dating Ravenclaw Sage Carridan and began a slow descent into love.
Adulthood:
After graduating from Hogwarts, Jack began traveling throughout Europe mostly. He spent his first four years as an apprentice to a fellow wizarding paleontologist who was more established and was a respected professor. He was fascinated by all of this, and soaked all the information that he could. At 22, Jack was allowed to follow his own interests and was given his own opportunities to lead digs and investigations. All the while, Jack often participated in reckless broom racing and other stunts. Luckily, Jack was never seriously injured during any of his reckless actions… until he was twenty-eight.
By the year he turned twenty-eight, Jack had grown tired and weary of traveling. He wanted to finally have a home base and found a position that would allow him to focus on the ancient beasts of the British Isles. He also began to plan a proposal for his long-term girlfriend, Sage. However, Jack decided to take on a broom race through a dangerous area. The race went wrong and Jack landed in St. Mungo’s for a week. That scared the shit out of Jack, causing him to reevaluate his actions and finally address the root of his recklessness. With the support of Sage, Jack along with his brother and cousin decided to finally open an investigation into the disappearance of his parents. In late 2025, it was discovered that Edward and Eleanora Whitten had been the victims of a Dobhar-chú.
Jack married Sage on May 23, 2026 and they had three children together. Their eldest, Asher Declan, was born on August 21, 2028 with their second child, Hazel Eleanora, being born two years later on March 1, 2030. Their youngest child, Hugh Edward, was born on December 22, 2033.
Old Age:
Jack retired at the age of 87 and devoted the rest of his life to his family. He also did some traveling, mostly to places that he had never visited before. He mourned the loss of family members as well.
Death:
Jack passed away in his sleep at the age of 121. He had lived a long and fulfilled life and he left behind three children, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.

Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Food: Pizza
Favorite Drink: Hot chocolate
Favorite Weather: Sunny and warm
Favorite Season: Summer
Favorite Music: Bastille, R.E.M., X Ambassadors, Tom Petty
Dislikes: Flying ; quidditch ; oranges ; mashed potatoes ; bullies
Trivia:
Jack’s abandonment issues manifest as reckless, the complete opposite of his twin brother. His recklessness is often used as a buffer to avoid getting too close to people.
Jack has a lot of internal strife regarding his parents and their fates. He really struggles to understand all of it and is afraid of the people he loves disappearing on him without a trace.
Jack doesn’t have a congenital heart defect. His twin brother does, but Jack was monitored as an infant and wasn’t found to have a defect. He does, though, have dyslexia which his twin doesn’t.
Jack doesn’t like quidditch. He just doesn’t get it. Rugby, football/soccer, and hurling are so much more interesting.

A Haunting originally began as two feature-length specials, A Haunting in Connecticut and A Haunting in Georgia, which were developed by Allison Erkelens, who also served as head writer. The specials were executive produced by Tom Naughton and Nicolas Valcour for New Dominion Pictures. Based on strong ratings, A Haunting became a weekly series on the Discovery Channel in the Fall of 2005 and was produced by Larry Silverman.
The series has featured several alleged paranormal encounters, including traditional hauntings, demonic activity, ghost attacks, possessions, and cryptic visions. The series covers incidents from various locations mostly in the United States, but five episodes are set in international locations around the world, these are Canada, England, Ireland, and Taiwan. Episodes may be set in houses, apartments, farms, commercial areas, and even vast outdoor regions. Most episodes present several accounts of paranormal experiences through cinematic re-enactments, which are accompanied by commentary from eyewitnesses and investigators themselves.

Your turn! 3, 10 and 23 🤗
YES, another excuse to gush about the kids! Thank you! <3
OC Ask Game
Because I have roughly 240 OCs for my Human/Organized Crime AU - Yes, that is not an exaggeration, I recently counted them again. To be fair, this includes anyone I ever gave a name to, but even if they're an insignificant backstory character, they are a character nonetheless.
But because I have so many, I'll choose one for each answer!
3. is your character an indoor or outdoor person?
Leo Reiter is a very outdoorsy person! They're Lilli Zwingli's right hand and the only one in Team Liechtenstein who's actually a Liechtensteiner. As a child, they loved to play around with others in the nature around the town and go on hiking trips with their parents and dog(s). During their 20s and early 30s, they had less and less time for it. Both because of the pressures to excel at their job (they worked in finance before Lilli's big brother offered them a job) and because the dysphoria and depression was growing more and more over the years. They only went hiking for business team building and didn't enjoy it much. However, after they quit their job and started to work on their gender presentation, they found their way back to it. These days Leo enjoys any kind of outdoor activity, whether it's alone, with family and friends or business partners, again! Nothing like a good day hiking in the Alps!
(The depression, along with a ton of other baggage, was also caused by the fact that Leo tried everything, including sexual favours, to get ahead in their company. It wasn't a very fulfilling life, only living for others and always playing along - which then lead to them isolating themselves and building giant walls around them, once they left finance. Lego, the ship of Leo and Hugo, is ... god, is it a mess.)
And here's a picture of Team Liechtenstein! From left to right we have Leo, Hugo and Lilli! The artist is @c0ffinated - Hugo is their OC!
Tumblr media
And here's one featuring Josef, the dog of Leo's parents
Tumblr media
10. what kind of music do they enjoy?
Charlie Higgins loves Classic and Hard Rock! He's the right hand and best friend, basically brother from another mother, to Harry O'Connel. (Harry is my Ireland which I made when I was 14. That's why he has an English name ... in the hetaverse, he's called Liam now, but old habits die hard, so it's Harry everywhere else).
To be fair, he enjoys most types of Rock and even dips his toes into the transition zone between Rock and Heavy Metal. Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Queen, KISS - He loves those bands. At the same time, he's also into pop & a big fan of Mika. I honestly can't wait to diegetically integrate two Mika songs into my rewrites of Irish Problems and Italian Affairs, the two fics I've written for the main story arch of my AU so far.
In Irish Problems, which I am currently rewriting, I love the thought that once Harry has come to terms that he's probably bisexual and interested in Michele (my Sicily OC and the man they're trying to broker a deal with), Charlie breaks out 'Lollipop' to hype Harry up for the business dinner and encourage him in his identity while also downplaying the concern that his rose coloured glasses would endanger the deal. "Jesus loves her - She wants mooore! Oh, bad girls get you down - Sing it! Sucking too hard on your lollipop, oh love's gonna get you down ..."
In Italian Affairs, I'd love to slip "Grace Kelly" in, because there's a HUGE Charco subplot. Charco is the ship of Charlie and Marco Bontade, one of Michele's right hand. Love the idea of Charlie singing it while getting ready for dinner in the bathroom of his hotel suite. The entire song encapsulates the subplot so perfectly ... Charlie's fear of being too much, being unprofessional and at the same time insecure that he'll never be enough for Marco. At the same, Marco's subconsciously held back by his twin brother Lorenzo, because falling out of sync is scary to both of them ... so the fact that Lorenzo doesn't like Charlie makes Marco think he mustn't either ...
"How can I help it, how can I help it? How can I help what you think? Hello my baby, hello my baby, putting my life on the brink. Why don't you like me, why don't you like me, why don't you like yourself?"
So in short, I think Charlie enjoys anything with a flair of drama, no matter how butch or glam, and a sweet guitar riff makes everything better! As long as he can move his body and sing along, he's happy with it.
I think it's illegal to post that one picture Jonah did of him YET again to tumblr, but you can see it in all its glory here.
Have these two done by @pyromaniacqueen too!

23. what are your OC’s biggest flaws and biggest strengths?
Tahir Rashid's theme song should be "Oh No!" by Marina. He's Arthur Kirkland's right hand and a certified lawyer who went through law school with flying colours. (We don't talk about the subsequent burnout and breakdown that made him end up in the mob ...)
Tahir's biggest strengths are that he's tirelessly dedicated to his work and damn good at it. The best is only just good enough, he's got a strong work ethic and keeps not only his own life in order, but keeps an eye on everyone else as well. He's incredibly intelligent, very eloquent and can be a charmer as well. He loves his family & especially his little sister more than anything else - to ensure a better life for his loved ones was the main reason he became a lawyer. He's often also the voice of reason to Arthur and Robert's hotheads. (Robert is the other right hand). He usually opts for a diplomatic solution to avoid confrontation, pulling strings behind the scene.
However, the spite that fuels his work ethic also is one of his biggest flaws. He's just as proud as the other two, wears his head pretty high and is easily annoyed by others. He's snarky and voices his disdain for others freely. He likes to hold grudges. Though very disciplined, he can't say no and pushes himself beyond the boundaries of his body to ensure that work gets done (which can be a flaw as well as strength). And his discipline also makes it incredibly hard for him to express emotions, putting a strain on relationships he actually cares about and on his own emotional & mental well-being. (I have never seen three so emotionally stunted men like Team England, I swear to God). His sensibility also turns into cowardice at times and when it comes to physical confrontations, he has to hide behind Robert & Arthur. As much of a deadly weapon he is behind a desk with a law book, as useless is he at an actual fist fight.
Here's a lovely Team England picture by @captkirkland, with Arthur on the right, Tahir in the middle and Robert on the left
Tumblr media
And another two contributions by Jonah, first chibi Team England and a wonderful Railey one (Railey is Tahir/Robert as ship)

An Old Tom Morris Day
Happy Sunday to everyone! Hope you have enjoyed time with your family and had a chance to go to church on this first Sunday of May! Thanks to technology, we were able to attend our church remotely although it was at 4:00p afternoon after we had another great day of golf!
We played the Old Tom Morris course at Rosapenna  today. Rosapenna, as I mentioned in an earlier post is very similar to The Bandon Dunes Golf Complex in Oregon although with only three courses instead of five. The Old Tom Morris course is the oldest of the courses, founded in the late 1800′s by you guested it, - Old Tom Morris, a famous Irish countryman that is often sited as instrumental in bringing golf to Ireland.
The course has gone through a few redesigns since its beginning and proved to be a wonderfully designed course that was a little easier than the first four courses played. Wider fairways, lighter heather in most places and bunkers that were not quite as penal as some of the other courses. Of course, that didn’t keep me or Kim from finding plenty of trouble throughout Old Tom’s course!
The weather was really good today. Sunny, winds around 10-12 mph and temps in the mid 50′s. All the locals were in shirt sleeves but not the Bell’s. Our caddie Brendon was a likable young man that did everything he could to help us enjoy our play and straighten out our putting woes. We have been challenged with the different grasses on the different greens which make the speeds vary greatly from course to course. Also, the vast differences in the amount of undulation in the greens and the changing wind velocities have made our putting less than stellar!
After the round, we headed to the clubhouse bar that had a panoramic view of the courses that wind their way along the shoreline of the Atlantic. Had a pint of Guinness, talked our way through the round we just played and then headed back to our hotel to go to church:-)
We topped off the evening going into the small village of Downing. It’s located about a half of a mile from the resort. One unusual characteristic of the village is that all the houses are white! It’s quite a scenic little place as it has one small main street with several restaurants and then the houses of the village are built upon the hillside that runs up from the main street. They are small is size but have great views of the beach and the large bay that cuts its way into the town from the Atlantic Ocean.
We ate at the Goose and the Gander, a combination of Irish pub and restaurant. It was great food, dim lighting and very busy. The village’s outdoor activity fields were right across the street so the G&G was a convenient place for teams to gather for a pint after their games.
Tomorrow brings another day of golf for me and Kim is taking the day off and has a few calls scheduled for the afternoon. She is debating about driving to Letterkenny, a town 17 miles away, to go to the Duds & Suds to do a little laundry. Surprisingly, this beautiful resort we are staying in has NO laundry service for guests!  She is reluctant to drive there because of the narrow roads and the fact she has never driven in Ireland. Will report back of her decision!
Stay tuned!  gb

Whether you take it as an aesthetic movement or a way of life, Cottagecore has something to offer to everyone. It is an ode to the beauty of nature, and a reminder to take time to enjoy the small things in life.

Game of thrones, possible inspiration for north's old gods religion
I'm kind of wondering if worshiping the northern Gods in Asoif is comparable to Druidism. Quoted below is modern druid practices I think might be relevent in ASOIF. Its from Wikipedia, and the other sources I looked at wernt exactly saying diffrent.
"Druidry has been described as a nature venerating movement.Druidry conceives of the natural world as being imbued with spirit, and thus regard it as alive and dynamic.
89% of world Druids practice nature connection, along with some form of environmental stewardship work.Nature connection involves spending time alone in nature, while maintaining a full sensory and spiritual awareness of whatever or whoever may be near by. Environmental stewardship work extends this connection through acts of reciprocity. Druids regularly participate in activities such as restoring native ecosystems, creating wildlife habitats, growing organic food crops, composting, installing solar or wind power systems, and changing personal consumption habits to protect the natural environment from damage. Many Druids are also involved in environmental activism, acting to protect areas of the natural landscape that are under threat from development or pollution."
A connection with ancestors is important in Druidry. In some recorded examples, Druids regard the "ancestors" as an amorphous group, rather than as a set of named individuals. The Druidic concept of ancestry is that of "ancestors of the land", rather than the "ancestors of the blood" venerated by some Heathen groups; they perceive a spiritual connection, rather than a genetic one, as being important. Emphasising ancestors gives practitioners a sense of an identity which has been passed down from the past over the course of many centuries.
Ancestor veneration leads many to object to the archaeological excavation of human remains and their subsequent display in museums.
The two most common locations for Druid rituals are indoors, at home, at a home altar or shrine (92% of Druids), or outdoors in a private garden or wild space (90% of Druids) Only 48% of world Druids regularly participate in rituals held in publicly viewable spaces, and 18% attend rituals at public monuments or popular tourist destinations such as Stonehenge or Avebury-
In Druidry, a specific ceremony takes place known as an Eisteddfod, which is dedicated to the recitation of poetry and musical performances. Within the Druidic community, practitioners who are particularly skilled in their recitation of poetry or their performance of music are referred to as Bards.Although bardism can also be found in other Pagan traditions such as Eco-Paganism, it is of particular importance within Druidry.Bards perform at Eisteddfod at various occasions, from formal rituals to pub get-togethers and summer camps and environmental protests. Among the Druidic community, it is often believed that bards should be divinely inspired in producing their work.
Storytelling is important within Druidry, with stories chosen often coming from the vernacular literature of linguistically Celtic countries or from Arthurian legend. Musical performances typically draw from the folk musical traditions of Ireland, Scotland, England, France, and Brittany.[111] Instruments used commonly include lap harps, mandolins, whistles, bag pipes, and guitars.Bards utilise archaic words such as "t'was", "thence", and "deeds", while speaking in a grandiose manner of intonation. "
ASOIF and Modern Druid similarities below
The older ones were rumored to have done things like human sacrifice, which does remind me of ASOIF, though the method of sacrifice apparantly in IRL reminds me more of the Lord of the Light.
But to sum it up tree worship= the godswoods as wild space for worship
Ritual involves solo nature rambles and meditation to connect with nature, as seen by what Ned Stark did post Execution of Black Brother.
Veneration of the dead, had no human remains on display, but the crypts where the bones are stored do have the statues, which does fit with the identify themes.
And storytelling is important in the north, its how their histories such as the long nights are passed.
And its harder to say in the wartime, but I think that action of environmental stewardship fits with the land not being as easy to grow as their neighbors south, and so the land being taken care of and nutured.

10 Places to Visit in Ireland for a Blissful Vacay
