i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.

I will be 70 years old and I still will never have gotten over the time the Mythbusters used a rocket powered steel wall to - and I use this word as literally as possible - vaporize an entire car into red mist

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

I think a lot about how we as a culture have turned “forever” into the only acceptable definition of success.
Like… if you open a coffee shop and run it for a while and it makes you happy but then stuff gets too expensive and stressful and you want to do something else so you close it, it’s a “failed” business. If you write a book or two, then decide that you don’t actually want to keep doing that, you’re a “failed” writer. If you marry someone, and that marriage is good for a while, and then stops working and you get divorced, it’s a “failed” marriage.
The only acceptable “win condition” is “you keep doing that thing forever”. A friendship that lasts for a few years but then its time is done and you move on is considered less valuable or not a “real” friendship. A hobby that you do for a while and then are done with is a “phase” - or, alternatively, a “pity” that you don’t do that thing any more. A fandom is “dying” because people have had a lot of fun with it but are now moving on to other things.
I just think that something can be good, and also end, and that thing was still good. And it’s okay to be sad that it ended, too. But the idea that anything that ends is automatically less than this hypothetical eternal state of success… I don’t think that’s doing us any good at all.

when is comes to asexuality and aromanticism you have to be okay with contradiction. one ace person will say asexuality is about not experiencing attraction, another will say it’s about not caring to act on attraction, another will say it’s not experiencing arousal. one aromantic will consider themself queer, one won’t. two people with seemingly identical experiences will use two different labels. aro people will be in romantic relationships, ace people will have sex. you get it.

Aside from combat, what can a Persona do?
Use the skills/abilities/powers the Persona has without having to summon it in the physical world for purposes outside of combat (e.g. Tatsuya using Nova Kaiser to stop time without summoning Apollo / Maruki's unknown ability allows him to change people's cognition whenever he wants / Kenta's unknown ability that helped him become a successful salesman).
Make the user unconsciously adopt traits related to their main Persona's mythos (e.g. Eikichi, someone with Hades, was unexplicably attracted to Akari Torikiri, a girl who turned into Persephone / Wild Cards slightly changing their personality according to their equipped Personas).
Talk to their users (e.g. P2 users have conversations with their Personas / The PTs Personas' made deals with their users upon awakening).
Briefly turn back into a Shadow if the user loses sight of themselves or are under psychological distress (e.g. Shinjiro's fucky wucky with Ken's mother / That brief barely-canon moment in the P4 Anime when Shadow Yu manifested / Hinokagutsuchi literally said so). Good news are that its easy to turn them back.
Go berserk when an user's heart and mind are troubled (e.g. Shinjiro taking Persona suppressants for Artificial Users to keep his Persona in check / Sumire's trauma corrupted her Persona / Kenta's traumatic awakening made his Persona immediatly attack others).
Adopt the form or embody the spirit of someone very close to the user (e.g. Kei and Yamaoka / Sumire and Kasumi / Toshiro and Eri).
Gain enough power they become sentient and become separate beings (e.g. The Night Queen separated from the body after Tomomi's death, eventually surpassing Tomomi in power / Adam Kadmon was so OP he gained full control over Maruki / Erina began to act without Toshiro's knowledge). There's something about this that connects with Teddie. I'm connecting the dots.
Be passed onto people who don't have a Persona (e.g. Yukino gave her Persona abilities to Jun, with help from Philemon).

that post that’s like, fandom’s obsession with viewing characters as only relatable or shippable or defendable has ruined media literacy in being able to view characters through the lens of themes or narrative theory. character analysis one of my favourite forms of analysis but not at the detriment of being able to understand when a character represents something larger thematically in a story than what they would be if they were just a guy from your high school

For the love of god DO NOT GO IN SOMEONE'S INBOX WITH A REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. Don't! There are a ton of spambots on this site with scamming tendencies, you'll get ignored or reported if you do that, just don't do it!

Some people prefere to keep their Megaten games in mostly seprate universes. Certinally there are a lot of alternate histories going on.
Persona and Devil summomer are connected, primarily through persona 2, though there are links in the first game.
And then there is Raidou Kuzunoha games, prequel to the devil summoner games, where Rasputin is a time travler, but not the one here to change the past to create a future where the events that lead to the SMT i timeline never happen.
Which means the characters exisiting in SMT i are characters who would be walking around in Persona 5's Tokoyo. Diffrent people in personality as shaped by changes in circumstance and enviorment, but still living their lives in Tokoyo. The first part of SMT took place in the 1990s, and the second part took place 30 years later, or in the 2020s.
One NPC from SMT i, who could be pretty intrestingly used in Persona 5, is Psycho Diver. You know. This guy

Yah, a guy who can just project himself and others into peoples minds, is hanging around Tokyo durring a time when teenagers are running around changing up peoples cognitive space.
Admitibly, we don't know much about his power, beyond that a mob boss was using him to keep a town of people compliant, and that he took Hero into Heroines brain, but damn thats pretty powerful.
And thats in post-apocalypse Tokyo. I don't know who trained him or how, but unless it was demons instructing him that only came out after the world ended, I would expect that in an age of reasearch where Cognitive Pscience is a valid topic of study, that he could offer some intresting data at minimum.
I can't begin to guess at how old he is, as the most personal feature I can make out is that he probably has a moustache, but given he is seems to be an adult in the 2020s, he's old enough to exist by the time of P5 when all of this cognition craze is going down.
And his name- Psycodiver- is less of a name and more of a title. I wonder. Is this a trained profession? Are there other Psycodivers? What are they getting up to?
