Where the pomegranates sing,
The apples clap,
And the Forest remembers.
Deep within this land enriched by vitality of all forms, producing bounties, fostering strength, a residual feeling of home sears within the faithful staff in his hands. Despite being immersed in the scale of history ranging from the call of that unbound flame, to the many hands that carried it some iteration of it with varying degrees of success, how long has it been in that well of consciousness that this very weapon could feel this sensation again.
How the emerald flash of greenery bounced upon the sunlight, how this beloved vitality became the reason that it turns malady and strife in the toll of ashes to welcome such dangers to oblivion itself?
This particular wielder who also has been blessed by the unbound flame of the world seemed to hold a touch more understanding. Despite this form of pseudo sentience being a fading brand of awareness, the blonde warrior held a means of allowing life to flow in the form of will. From times experienced around Inazuman weaponry, against the well kept to the shoddy, to the malicious lined to the equally strong in some fervent faith, blades that found themselves infused with Tatarigami always held that stint of madness that needed to be seared from reality.
Mortal rot left horribly unkempt would lead to pestilence, then what of the divine variety? Lives more deeply entrenched in those echelons of power were a veritable nuclear meltdown upon death depending on their desire.
In short, these ‘realms of authority’ would naturally clash, Teyvat’s and the living coil of that very being. It mattered not if these were born and bred within this very world.

Thoma’s current journey within Sumeru has led him deep into the versatile woodlands. A cheery sense of free while actively running, leaping, soaring over high tops, methodically bouncing between sturdy trunks, to flipping along difficult heights where the smallest touch of leniency would lead to a harrowing plummet. Yet, he found joy in scaling through the lands without plenty of rhyme and a focused sect of reason.
The taste of Anemo here was crisp, rivaling that of the lands that hail the very Archon that established dominion upon that part of the seven. A natural guess would be that overflowing flora eagerly give as much as it takes, personalized contentment found in finding a home amidst all the denizens large and small.
So he certainly doesn’t complain, for more fresh oxygen and a stir of divine will means a much brighter burn.
That searing heart (and a good set of directions) would lead him deep into an area within the Lokapala Jungle, cleaved from many of the manmade or animal routes beaten into the earth. A good and steady beat dances within his chest, further amplifying that inspired rhythm of the lands itself. Thoma’s certainty was growing further as he could feel the tempered burn that controls itself through the pole section of Homa, stirs of crimson life radiating in the hum of a tender beat.
There was no better confirmation that he’s on the right track. “A place where it resonated the closest with that heat.. Forming rare varieties of wood that thrives in any flame, amplifying the call of the very heat that’s willed into it.” He softly speaks, recalling clear of the legends spoken in one land, and the sharper, sparse reports found in the House of Deana.
For this ascension, a crucial key would be to dive back to the metaphorical roots, to guide this power back here.
Thus he’d advance onward, becoming a presence that reflects an imposing but respectful nature. Often as he doesn’t enjoy letting his merits be too widely known, gaining the recognition of animal life, to the exuding his will to the land’s very essence itself was important. Just the sight of dendrograna, so similar to electrograna reflects that chief lesson.
The land lives. It needs to learn about him and his intentions, as much as he’s here upon that very journey himself.
Many vines and flora would draw themselves apart upon his--, more particularly, Homa’s arrival, drawing apart as the presence it radiates reflects one of contentment, of that same boundless wisdom and hope that helped carve the dark futures of calamity away despite an element that always seemed to be an ending to forest life. Curious eyes would be drawn in how this particular grotto seems to expand the further he advances, hollowing out into the form of a more open hall compared to anything else.
Part of Thoma couldn’t resist wondering if this inventive measure is more man made or world like.
Within time he’d soon find the location he was intending to discover. Deeper humidity, more fragrant and heavier air, what he comes to discover... Isn’t exactly what he expected. Yet, that in itself hardly matters. What he imagined to be a forest of scarlet initially turns out to look more normalized in some regards, these particular trees holding edges of silver as a more prominent trait compared to anything else. Yet, the undeniable answer rang within his heart, causing its beats to hasten as that same mysterious edged itself into his mind.
"Only an unbound flame can purify this world.’
A voice that seems to draw its breath directly against his chest.
As his eyes sharpen with proper recognition, he advances, giving the firewood staff a flip until its positioned vertically, settled properly within his hand as a familiar ritual would begin anew. There was a distinct understanding of his reasoning for being here, to bring this land one of it’s fashioned children once again. Calamity was afoot, and naturally, understanding of the core and beyond would be key to reach the appropriate heights. No more, no less.
“Homa needs the strength of this place, the home where it was raised to power. Feel the coursing wave of my flames, its understanding in what it means to and not to harm.” Declares the Fixer, settling the spear’s blunt end to the red earth below. That gently radiating eye begins to stir with further life as it gradually awakens from a more controlled slumber, allowing a flowing, aura like shawl of scarlet to erupt from its dual scarlet tips. Even the darker portions of the staff began to glow, gaining a more distinct scarlet tint comparable to the ground below.
Flame began to bloom around the staff’s head as Thoma settles down onto his knees, allowing for his divinity through the Vision to serve as a more appropriate link, to join this very experience as he puts his hands together in a stance prayer while allowing for his eyes to close.
This.. Unbound flame. He felt that it was time to let firsthand experience be his way of learning.
To let the world itself teach.

Hot/Cute things they do [Genshin Impact Male Characters] Headcanons

Note: Long time no post!! I got some of my energy back but phew it’s such a struggle with all the hormones haha. I get energy on and off, it’s literally like a switch sometimes. One second I feel like doing something and the next it’s like all I wanna do is stay in bed.
Warnings: a bit of crack elements in some, Not proofread, if there’s any pronoun slips please tell me :) suggestive elements in some, added our new Sumeru friends that I’m comfortable writing for into the long list of lovable male characters. I’m loving Sumeru so far, specially the music.

Aether
Putting his hand out for you to hold. All the time.
His hand is always there for you no matter where you go.
Just a stroll? He offers it to you with a pleasant smile. “Let’s go,”
When there’s a big step or just a big gap between stones or steps while the two of you are out adventuring, he’ll have it stretched out towards you.
“Hold my hand, I don’t want you to fall,”
Sometimes will subconsciously and automatically grab your hand when he thinks you need it.
“Watch out for that puddle,”
Even in quiet moments when the two of you are sat around the campfire, he loves to have his hand atop yours, swirling patterns atop it, making circles, tracing your knuckles.
It’s a kind of reassurance for him, and you always feel like you can rely on him and have him to hold on to.
When he’s talking to someone in town, or wherever the two of you may be and he realizes that he doesn’t have your hand in his, his hand will linger, stretching out even while he’s talking, hovering towards your general direction until you notice and take hold of it.
It might seem clingy, but really he just likes feeling how perfectly the two of you fit together.
Albedo
Being a good brother
Despite his job, he’s actually good with kids. We all know it’s because he’s had experience with taking care of Klee from time to time.
It hits you harder when you watch from afar, how he kneels down to get to Klee’s eye level, takes out a hanky and wipes off some soot from the little girl’s cheek. “If you’re not careful you’ll get your whole dress and Dodoco dirty, Klee. Would you want that?”
He has a way to convince the little girl without being harsh nor threatening, just stating facts as he always does and looks out for her diligently.
When the little girl is tired and all rubby-eyes after a long day of running around Albedo picks her up easily in his arms and walks back to Mondstadt with the little bundle of red comfortably resting on his shoulder. “Did you have fun today, Klee?” he would whisper.
When Klee is upset, he knows just what to say to her. “I understand you’re upset, Klee. That’s alright. Would you like to visit your favourite store later, after you’ve calmed down?”
And finally when little Klee wonders out loud where you are, Albedo flashes the small girl a small secret smile. “Y/N? They’ll be here soon. They might even have a treat for you,”
It occurs to you that the scene is very domestic. Like having your own child with Albedo.
Alhaitham
Wiping his sweat off with his shirt after a workout/training
Alhaitham is an excellent fighter, it’s the result of regular training, sparring and workouts.
Where he spars is up to his mood. The adventurer’s guild training grounds or out in the forest, either way he gives it his 100% as if he’s really face to face with an enemy.
By the end of it he’s sweaty and slightly panting, his sword stuck on the ground and his hand balancing on the hilt.
You sometimes walk in when he’s in the middle of it and his fluid movements are quite mesmerizing, not to mention his tight fit outfit gives you a clear view of how his arms flex.
Sometimes you walk in when he’s just done, when he pulls his shirt up, giving you a view of his chiseled muscles as he wipes the sweat on his forehead and face.
You’re there to hand him some water and he has no idea at all of the show he’s giving. He smiles the slightest bit, hand grabbing the bottle of water “Thank you, love,”
He refrains from kissing you because he knows he’s sweaty, but would you mind at all really?
Even the way he opens the bottle of water, tips his head back, droplets of sweat beading his forehead glistening, and downs it in one go is something to marvel at.
Ayato
Taking his coat off to give it to you
Under the white elegant coat he wears is a pale blue yukata that matches the colour of his hair.
It first happened while the two of you were enjoying the porch of the Kamisato Estate. There’s an elegant tea set between the two of you, when a strong breeze brushes past.
It’s nothing to him, he’s used to the elements, but at the corner of his eye he sees you bristle a little. He moves the tea set over and sits next to you, sliding his coat off and placing it around your shoulders instead.
You were a little startled, but when you look up at him he doesn’t say anything but wears a handsome smile on his face.
He sits next to you from then on and its become a habit of his.
It’s almost automatic now. There was once where he was out on business in winter and a strong wind grazes by, he’s talking to one of the commissioners and he takes his coat off, turning towards you to warm you up, only to realize that you weren’t with him today.
He recovers quite quickly, a split second of surprise and he manages to chuckle at himself at the silly gesture, plays it off by draping his coat on his arm and continuing with his business.
He comes home that night with his coat still off, and knows that when he comes back you’ll probably only be in a yukata (He’s figured out that you sometimes dress less in winter, just to get his coat, but he doesn’t say anything about it)
“There you are, dove. It’s cold today, you should consider wearing more on nights like these,” while wrapping his coat around your shoulders.
but you never do and he doesn’t really complain. His coat smells just like him. In truth he likes seeing you in it too.
Bennett
When he shows his reliable side + his signature thumbs up with bright smile
Despite his bad luck following him around he has his victorious moments.
It’s those rare moments of his confidence boosting that makes you look at him all starry eyed and in awe.
“I got your back Y/N!” The first time he says it is when you fail to dodge an incoming attack from a mitachurl, but Bennett slides in just in time with his pyro flamed sword, burst of flames causing the mitachurl to recoil.
You could only see his back at that moment, and you don’t ever remember seeing him as so strong and reliable.
He turns back to you with a flash of bright smile and a thumbs up, as if he hadn’t done anything special at all and urges the two of you to keep adventuring. “That’s taken care of, let’s keep going!”
Chongyun
kicks ass with his claymore but is still shy about it
Is actually a good fighter, but always downplays himself saying that there’s much he needs to learn and train for before becoming good enough.
But the way he carries his claymore and slays with it, you know that he already packs a punch and is just too modest.
He’s also very unassuming, he looks like he’s harmless but the first time you see him handle his weapon, burst of cryo claymores impaled into the ground and leaving the ground frozen...and he does it so effortlessly too, you were a little surprised.
He brushes it off too easily, doesn’t think he did anything noteworthy so when you compliment him on his fighting skills there’s a tint of red on his cheeks. “Huh? Oh, that? I-It’s nothing... I’ve been practicing it for a long time...”
but he fights off monsters effortlessly, sometimes you don’t even need to lift a finger, or maybe that’s just his way of protecting you and keeping you safe?
Dainsleif
Picks your hand up and places it on his cheek + kissing your hand with intense eye contact
When he meets up with you his standard greeting is to place a kiss at the back of your hand, all the while keeping eye contact with you. His gaze is almost stern, but it’s also melting and delves deep into your soul. He doesn’t say anything to greet you, aside from kissing your hand, but he stays close to your side throughout the day you spend together.
By the end of it, when the moon is high up in the sky and the two of you have to part ways, it always happens that you’re in a rather secluded and more private part of the forest or atop a hill where no one can see the two of you.
Perhaps he makes it like that so he can be a little selfish and have a bit more of you, though he only wishes for a quick kiss and then, as always, he takes your hand, lays it on his cheek, sighs and closes his eyes. As if he doesn’t want to be apart and it breaks him to see you go.
“...Your warmth...brings me a different kind of peace. One that I cannot find elsewhere...”
and then, just like his hello, he kisses the back of your hand goodbye, leveling his gaze on you, capturing your eyes while you get lost in his “Until next time, Y/N,”
Diluc
Rolling his sleeves up and tying his hair
It’s not like you’ve never seen his arms before, he goes to sleep in a shirt, so his arms are exposed to you all night long.
But there’s something different about it as he gets ready early in the morning. Dressed in his usual attire but with his sleeves pushed up to his elbows because it’s easier to lift his arms up to tie his hair that way.
Because both his hands are occupied trying to gather up his long red hair he keeps the hair band in his mouth. The subtle movements of his arm and muscles as he smooths out, gathers his hair, bunches it up doesn’t escape your eyes.
Finally he takes the hair band from his mouth and wounds it around his hair. Most days he wears it in its usual state, but its a treat for your eyes when he decides to put it up into a ponytail, there’s something just extra handsome about it.
Then, he pulls his sleeve down and is ready to go but not before giving you a kiss on the forehead. “I’ll be back soon, Y/N.”
You’d never get tired of his morning routine, and he doesn’t even realize that you watch him do his before starting yours.
Gorou
Carrying/Lifting heavy things
He’s smaller in stature but you’re always reminded that he’s a capable general when he carries boxes and crates without any trouble.
But it’s a lot nicer when he carries seemingly heavy things for you, or at least something that he sees as “too heavy” he knows you can handle it but for some reason he always insists to carry “heavy” things for you.
“Do you need help with that? I’ll take it off your hands,” when you’ve just gotten done shopping for vegetables and fruits or any type of grocery.
When heavy lifting is involved he doesn’t let you do it, or at least gives you the easy things to do. “I can get this, you can have that one over there,” points at a small box while he swiftly takes care of the bulkier heavier ones.
When you tell him you’re really thankful for his help and when you compliment him on being strong he gets a little flustered. “Oh, ahaha, you think so? It’s no big deal, we do this all the time in camp,”
Heizou
The little smirk he does
The cunning detective is sharp, witty and has a way with words. He knows how to wind people up, including you. He’s a bit of a flirt but sometimes he doesn’t even do it on purpose and it still riles you up.
One of the ways he does this is when he assertively turns your head towards him with his hand. He brushes the side of your mouth with his thumb and gives you that playful smirk. “Bit of a messy eater, aren’t we?”
Or when he confidently states that he can take care of any mystery, crossing his arms and shooting a smug-ish smirk “There’s no such thing as a mystery to me,”
But mostly when he snakes an arm around your waist while walking through town with you. This one, he does on purpose. The first time he did it, he says “Just don’t want you getting lost lovely,” until it became a habit and he doesn’t need an excuse anymore, just a grin and a quick squeeze to your waist.
Itto
Flexing his muscles
Itto never does this on purpose. He dubs himself as a great fighter but never really takes into account the fact that he’s bulky and is openly showing his toned midriff.
It was hard to take your eyes off his “outfit” the first time you started hanging out with him.
He’s rather silly, and so whenever he’s hyped up he gets into victory poses that twists his pecs just the right ways. Example, when he wins any onikabuto fight, he pumps his hand up a certain way and it draws your eyes towards him.
Another thing he subconsciously does is to puff his chest out. He’s constantly boasting about something, maybe winning a ramen contest, or winning snacks from kids. “Pfft yeah! They were no match for me!” He tells the story proudly, but so does his chest and muscles.
When he shows of his strength, he’s really only showing off his strength, not his muscles. So whenever he offers you a piggy back ride--basically a free pass for you to wrap your arms around his strong shoulders and to feel his chiseled back--he does it enthusiastically. “Hey Y/N! Betcha I can get you to Chinjuu Forest in less than a minute! Come on, hop on!”
It’s just fun for him, but he’s also happy he can basically lug you around anywhere.
Kaeya
Whispering in your ear
Does it matter what he’s saying? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
But his husky greeting of “Hello there snowflake,” versus his tempting and commanding whisper of “Give me a kiss,” both send shivers down your spine.
He does it quite often, he knows what effect it has on you and probably does it to tease you.
From the random strolls around Mondstadt, his hand around you and resting on your hip, him dipping in a little closer to say “You look wonderful today,” breath hot at the shell of your ear.
All the way to the tavern nights where he sits next to you and he’s nearly glued to your side, tempting you with a tickle of his voice in your ear, hand on one of your knees “Spend the night with me?”
And finally even as you cuddle in bed into the night, his arms around your back and you tethered in his arms, buried in his chest. He brushes strands of hair away from your ear to lean in and whisper “Stay with me forever Y/N,”
Kazuha
“Secretly” looking at you with a gentle gaze
He likes to think he’s discreet about it but every one of Beidou’s crew has caught him looking at you all dreamy eyed.
You’ve caught him a few times too, and at first you thought he was just spacing out, but then you figured out--and you were somewhat embarrassed as well--that he was just looking at you in awe.
It somewhat hits differently when you realize that someone is looking at you that way. Like you can’t believe the adoration in his eyes is for you, as if a treasure that was hidden away for centuries.
“Hm?” he said when you first caught him spacing out on you. “Oh, just...admiring the delightful view,” You thought he really was talking about the view at first.
But then he started to do it more often, and you would catch him not hiding it at all. You’d turn to him to ask him something, and he would have his eyes relaxed, glazed over with love. His fingers would graze your cheek gently and he would sigh softly with a smile.
You’d ask him what’s wrong and he would say “Nothing’s wrong at all. Everything’s absolutely perfect, my love,”
He’d end up kissing you softly on the lips, before snapping out of it and letting you ask him about your original query.
Razor
Wraps your arms around him
Because he communicates more with his actions than words, if he wants something but doesn’t quite know how to say it he usually just acts on it.
Tugging your sleeve when he wants something, walking in front of you when he senses danger, wraps himself around you when he’s protective...Those are some of the things he does but doesn’t say much about. You had just picked up on those habits of his over the years.
Recently he had become more assertive, and he now stands face to face with you and takes both of your arms just to wrap it around himself. He used to blush over it, now it’s just a signal that he wants to be hugged.
A similar thing would be him resting his head on your shoulder and grabbing your hand to lay it atop his head. He loves it when you pat his head or comb your hands through his hair.
Scaramouche
Running his fingers through his hair when annoyed
The signature scowl and snarl is something that usually scares off people but to you who knows him more than just surface level, you strangely have grown accustomed to it.
His anger is rarely directed at you anyway. Most times it’s directed at something that’s happened to you.
“What happened to your knee? What do you mean you tripped and fell? Who was escorting you?!” and you being the neutral person you are, don’t really want anyone to get in trouble so you refuse to answer, just telling him it was an accident.
And it’s times like these where he does that thing where he cards through his hair with his hand in frustration, tsking and glaring at you while he does it. “I swear if it happens again...”
Sometimes he does it REALLY out of anger, but not towards you. Rather his subordinates get the brunt of it.
“Some of you are beyond stupid,” In extreme exasperation, you watch as he tips his head back a little and presses his fingers on his head, slowly pushing his fingers through his hair as if giving himself a head massage, all the while with an annoyed expression on his face.
Then he explodes with fury on his subordinate. After he’s calmed down, he’ll turn to you and notice the faintest of smiles on your face. “...What’s so funny?” he’d think that his outburst would have scared you instead.
Tartaglia
Pulling his gloves on/off with his teeth
You have no idea why he does it. Probably something that he got used to, but sometimes he does it cause he says it’s just easier that way, like when his hands are wet, apparently.
You’ve seen him do it a couple of times, the first time was when he got drenched in the rain and he was taking his gloves off. He comes strolling into the house still dripping wet and so he stayed by the front door and starts discarding his wet clothes, starting from his gloves.
He lifts his hand up to his mouth, his teeth hook onto the tip of his finger, dragging the black leather off as his hand pull away.
Sometimes when he’s busy putting ON his gloves with both hands he keeps the other glove in between his teeth. You warn him it’s unhygienic but you still like watching him do that though.
Something about the way he does it draws your attention to his long fingers and the fact that he can even utilize his mouth.
It makes the feel of his bare hands on your cheeks all the more special and warm. “I’m home Y/N,” It’s a totally different feeling from his gloved hands.
Thoma
Leans in towards you when you speak
Because he wants to catch every single word that you say, because your words are important to him.
He innocently leans forward, even bending a little if he needs to, catching your back with his hand, specially if its crowded and the environment is too loud.
“Sure, we can do that,” he’ll say when he hears your suggestion.
He keeps close to you through the crowd, all the while almost wrapping an arm around your shoulder just to keep the conversation the two of you have going.
You can practically smell his scent from how close he is.
Sometimes even when it’s quiet, he doesn’t catch what you say because you’ve said it too softly, or he’s just preoccupied in his own mind. “Sorry love, say that again?”
He’ll turn towards you and his entire body is listening to you, head tilted towards your direction the slightest bit. Then he chuckles when he hears your message, but only moves forward the tiniest bit more to press his lips on your forehead. “I love you too, Y/N,”
Tighnari
Beckoning and calling you over
Exploring the forest is his calling, and documenting every little things takes time. Perhaps that’s why he loves having you around, because you’re a great help to his research, but in general, he finds that he just likes your presence, research or not.
“Y/N, over here,” Tighnari has always had a leader streak in him. He knows what he wants, what he needs to do and knows what to say. He commands others without hesitation and though he sometimes takes that tone towards you, he also respects your opinions.
He calls you over with an upward wave of his hand, sometimes only with a flick of his fingers. He’ll point something out to you and discuss with you about it.
“Y/N, look at this,” your name on his lips is like a constant. A fixed thing that’ll never disappear. It’s the first thing he says when he finds something interesting. He tilts his head over to the “thing” while looking at you, another way that he calls you over.
In the privacy of his and your quarters, as he finishes studying and turns off his desk light, he opens his arms and merely says your name, “Y/N,” he doesn’t have to ask you to come, your name is enough for you to move towards him and he gathers you into a hug. “Let’s go to sleep,” he’ll suggest, and you’ll agree.
Sometimes, even in his sleep, and you happen to wake up. You’ll see his ear twitch at your slight movement, and he’ll mumble your name, his arm subconsciously tightening around your waist. “Don’t go anywhere without me, Y/N,”
Venti
Playing with your hair
He likes it when you play with his hair, so he got the idea from you and started doing it to yours as well.
If you have long hair, he has the habit of curling a strand of it around his finger and watching it furl and unfurl. It looks boring, but he can do that for hours.
He also likes to take strands of it and kisses it while looking at you, he’s trying to get a reaction from you.
If you have short hair he merely likes to run his hand through it, specially when you’re in a hug, his hand crawls up and presses into your scalp oh so comfortingly. “Like that, my dandelion?”
He gets very pleased with himself when he feels you melt into his arms when he gives you that semi-scalp massage.
When he’s feeling mischievous he likes to give your hair a slight tug, just to get your attention, specially if you’re busy with something else or someone else.
It’s his ‘pay attention to me’ sign.
Xiao
Alertness - Always has an arm ready to shoot out in front of you
Rather than alert you always thought that he was just too nervous and jittery for his own good. He’s always ready to jump at anyone who looks like a threat to him and you.
It has, of course, saved you a couple of times but more often than not he’s actually just being overprotective. You let him do it if he’s comfortable with it but you remind him to ease up from time to time, specially if you’re just strolling along Liyue Harbor.
There are countless of times where he’s wedged himself in between you and someone he deemed as a threat, more often than not the “threat” was not really a threat at all, but during the times when they were he gets extremely irked. “Don’t come any closer,” and he’ll put a hand up to block you away from them.
One time there was also an incident wherein the two of you were walking back to Wangshu Inn and he sensed something in the air. He stops you, stands in front of you while keeping you as close as possible just as an arrow flies past the two of you. He was livid.
The other times were instances wherein you nearly trip, but since he’s always paying attention you never really fall. He catches you just in time, but never tells you off for being clumsy. It’s like he’s accepted it as his job already.

Easily laying on your lap and being comfortable
Once upon a time the two of you would read books an arm’s length away from each other. It’s one of those moments where the two of you hang out yet do different things. It’s the presence of the other that matters.
When the two of you became closer you would notice that you’re now shoulder to shoulder and you don’t know when exactly it started but he had moved on to settling his head on your lap while reading.
He reads while resting on your lap and thinks nothing of it, but he does consider it an extreme privilege and considers it very comfortable, more comfortable than any pillow, he said.
Then he started to doze off on your lap. You caught signs of it when his book started to droop and as the minutes passed he had somehow placed the book on his stomach and was now sleeping on your lap instead.
Now he just uses you as a pillow when he wants a nap, and doesn’t even ask.
Zhongli
Placing his hand on your lower back (I’ve definitely written about this before)
Not one to really show off public affection, but he still likes the occasional touch here and there.
He’s the type to lead you away or lead you to something by placing his hand on the small of your back. It’s not hesitant nor uncertain, his hand is firmly placed there and he knows exactly where he’s guiding or taking you.
It’s how people in Liyue know that the two of you have a close relationship. At first they weren’t sure, because the two of you don’t really talk about it, but the moment he places his hand on your lower back, it lights a bulb in the townspeople’s minds.
Sometimes they’ll catch him doing that, and also looking down at you as the two of you converse, there’s a different light in his eyes as he talks to you while leading you away. Like he really enjoys your company and your thoughts.
Without words his hand says a lot of different things. “Let’s head home then, darling,” “I’m right here with you, dear,” “Come with me, love,”
The subtlety of it is sweet, but it’s also protective in certain situations, such as when a merchant is overexcited in selling you something and borderline pushy. Zhongli will be next to you, hand on your back and smiling pleasantly at the merchant.
“They’re not quite interested in your wares, xiansheng (mister). We’ll take our leave now,”
And you’ll silently thank him for helping you out.

you reassure him that you’ll be okay on your own. and thoma crosses his arms, sighing with that same smile on his face.
“do i have to bring up the last time you went to that place?”
you just shake your head, not wanting to recall. you were a little confident in your abilities, because the report said there were two people seen stealing some precious trinkets and shipping them over to sumeru. then, when heading over to the coast off inazuma city, plot twist—it’s one, and upon approaching them, six more appeared. you were very lucky that general gorou was actually heading to the city, and found rescued you from your predicament. a treasure hunter, mixed in with a couple of fatui agents and maidens isn’t exactly the easiest sort of job—especially with the kind of equipment you had on you.
“so either i come along with you this time, or you make sure you’re better prepared…” the man mutters, almost looking saddened. “i really don’t want to have to bandage you looking like… that, of course.”
now that really did it. you asked if there were any spare equipment that you could borrow inside the house.
“well, come inside then,” he remarks, leading the way, offering his hand to you as he walks you up the steps. and you take it, because why not?
but the moment that the both are of you are out of sight from the other guards, he closes the door, grinning as he takes you by the wrist and pins you to the floor—cushioning your fall with his hands.
his breath dances with your frenzied puffs as your faces are barely centimeters away, pulling closer as he gently presses his lips against yours—absorbing the passion of your legs squeezing around his thigh. his pace quickens as he hoists your waist up, kissing you deeper with one hand on your cheek whilst the other is lifting you up. his stifled moans quickly escape his lips as he tears away from you—where he flips you over and slides his hands beneath your underwear while pulling the back of shorts down.

☆ Description: Returning home after a long time without them knowing it ☾
☆ Childe
You had to travel to liyue and mondstadt for four months for a fatui mission, but unfortunately everything took longer than expected, and you still haven't returned to snezhnaya after a year.
At first, when you didn't arrive at the right date, childe was ready to go looking for you everywhere if it wasn't for the letter you sent him telling him that you would stay there much longer and reminding him that you could manage on your own. It's not that he didn't trust your abilities, but the fact that he didn't have the date of your arrival left him quite uneasy.
So imagine his face when he saw you at the door one morning when he was ready to go to work.
He really felt like fainting, was this a dream? You had to tell him to sit down for a while so he could relax and after assuring him that you were fine and that the mission had been a success he couldn't contain himself and gave you a hug (you couldn't breathe lmao).
He missed you a lot and you scared the hell out of him by showing up out of nowhere so rest assured he won't let you go for a while
"y/nn I've missed you so much! Are you okay? I was so scared for a second, let's sit down, I want to hear what you've been doing all this time. Oh? That I should go to work? Forget it, this is more important."
☾ Kazuha
Dating Kazuha meant that there would be long times without seeing each other, but after a while you both came to an agreement, most of the time you would explore teyvat together but you would also explore on your own some other times.
This time it was the second option, Kazuha opted to stay for a while in mondstadt and you wanted to return to inazuma to visit your family and friends before continuing your journey with Kazuha.
When the day to leave came you both decided to meet in liyue in two months, it wasn't a long time and you two had definitely spent more time without each other but that didn't make it any easier.
And thanks to the short time you would be apart he definitely didn't expect you to come back after only a month of being gone. It was a quiet afternoon and he was walking near mondstadt not wanting to explore much that day when he suddenly saw you walking a bit away from where he was.
He smiled softly and stretched out his arms to catch you as you hugged him tightly. It wasn't many sunsets without having you around but nevertheless he couldn't express how happy he was to have you back in his arms.
"Did you really miss me so much that you came back early? It's okay, I missed you so much too, ready to continue our adventure?"
☆Aether
Aether was willing to go explore Sumeru but you had other plans wanting to stay in Liyue for a while and besides he wasn't entirely sure that the current situation in Sumeru was a safe place so you both came to an agreement that you would wait a while in Liyue until he found a place for you both to stay for a while.
Months passed and apart from a few letters telling you that he was fine but that things had gotten complicated and he still hadn't found any clues about his sister you decided to go help him, after all you wanted to explore Sumeru and see Aether again.
You arrived at gandharva ville after a few days of travel and to your surprise you found Aether there, he looked tired and wasn't really paying much attention to his surroundings so the first to notice your presence was no doubt paimon ready to announce your arrival but with a signal to be quiet you tried to walk quietly, finally you found yourself in front of aether and decided to talk.
This boy I swear, he had all kinds of emotions in a second. Are you okay? what are you doing here? He had missed you so much and was so frustrated about everything that he couldn't help but cry a little, but he quickly pulled himself together again and gave you a tight hug happy that you were there.
"You really took me by surprise, were you so excited to explore Sumeru that you forgot to tell me you were coming or something? It's okay, all that matters is that you're here."
☾ Thoma
You had a vision that was almost taken by the shogun's decree so you decided to escape just like Kazuha, unfortunately this meant that you would leave everything behind including your boyfriend.
The first week Thoma felt heartbroken knowing that he couldn't help you in any way but as time passed he decided to hold on to the hope that you would be safer outside of Inazuma and that someday the decree would no longer exist and you would return.
For you it wasn't any easier, having nowhere to go and not knowing anyone in the other nations made you feel completely out of place but luckily you survived, so when one day the news came that inazuma was finally a safe place you couldn't express the happiness and anxiety that went through your body, what if everything was too different and you still felt out of place? What if no one remembered you or worse, something bad had happened to them? You hadn't heard from anyone all this time so your worries were reasonable. You immediately decided to pack a small suitcase and go to inazuma.
Although you were very sure of your decision to return to the island you were not prepared to see Thoma again, that's why you were so nervous right now at the entrance of the kamisato clan, but with the same confidence as the day you left you decided to enter.
The first one to notice your presence was Ayato smiling at you gently indicated where Thoma was, thanking him you headed to the place and immediately crossed glances with your boyfriend who was leaving the place.
He took his time to process what was happening before hugging you and almost crying his eyes out. How long had it been since you left? he didn't know, so long without knowing if you were safe or even alive, so many sleepless nights because you weren't there with him finally ended.
"thank you archons you are safe, I missed you so much you don't even know, not even a letter, did you know how worried I was all this time? Thank you so much for coming back and being safe, please don't go away again or at least let me hold you longer. I love you so much y/n."

Genshin Headcannons Part 4?
Razor calls fireflies as lightning bugs.
Thoma has a pinwheel in his room so it reminds him of Monstadt.
Kujou Sara has nightmares of some of her previous battles.
Chongyun loves Inazuman dishes and he can cook them but he claims it's not as good as true inazuman cuisine
Xingqu has a little pocket journal for him to record his adventures and maybe he may write his adventures in a novel.
Scaramouche has been officially a resident of Sumeru courtesy of Alhaitham and Nahida.
Tighnari has a little pouch of medicine herbs for his or others injuries.
Jean loves staying under the Windrise tree. She often spends her free time there and she always plans a picnic with Barbara or Klee or both.
Diluc has a basement full of corkboards and newspaper clippings filled with crimes, contacts, and more.
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematic Students would probably work with Albedo, Sucrose and the Akademya.
Political Government Students and Business students would work along with Ningguang and the others at liyue.
Law Students would shadow Yanfei
Med Students would work in the churches, since I haven't seen a hospital in Genshin.
Teachers would freely teach the kids, those would want to learn can come to study.

what houses I think each Genshin Impact character would be in <3 with explanations bc why not
Mondstadt Characters
Gryffindor
Diluc -> his tenacity and ambition out weigh his smarts, kindness, and cunningness.
Jean -> i don't feel like i have to explain why Jean is a Gryffindor.
Eula -> i don't feel like i have to explain this one either.
Amber -> although Amber is very kind and would fit in with Hufflepuff, i felt like her outgoing personality fit Gryffindor better.
Diona -> she has a lot of personality. i didn't think she would fit in anywhere else.
Noelle -> she is Gryffindor you can not change my mind.
Razor -> i felt like his willingness to go into danger was stronger than his kindness.
Hufflepuff
Klee -> she's too sweet to be anywhere else but Hufflepuff.
Barbara -> i didn't feel like she would fit in any other house.
Bennett -> he's much more social and caring than he is ambitious.
Sucrose -> i don't think i have to explain this.
Slytherin
Venti -> he's just too sneaky and mysterious.
Fischl -> she just felt like a Slytherin.
Kaeya -> do i need to explain?
Lisa -> i think it's pretty obvious why she's in Slytherin.
Rosaria -> she's too cunning and sly to be anywhere else.
Ravenclaw
Albedo -> i don't think i need to explain.
Mona -> she's really smart apparently.
Mika -> he's also very smart apparently.
Liyue Characters
Gryffindor
Kequing -> she is super smart but she's also very ambiguous and straightforward.
Xiao -> i don't feel like i have to explain this one.
Beidou -> this one is obvious.
Xiangling -> i felt like her ambitiousness and dedication out weighed her kindness.
Hufflepuff
Childe -> despite being evil, calculated, and intelligent (?), Childe is so sweet, charismatic, and caring when he's around people he trusts.
Qiqi -> her personality is very hufflepuff ig.

Most Likely To Eat A Bug Tierlist
I spent so so so much time looking through voicelines about fave/least fave foods so I can say with 1000% confidence that I am correct and will NOT be accepting critique at this time
Explanations under the cut:
Has To Be Physically Stopped From Eating Random Bugs
Enthusiastic bug eaters. Will see a bug and pop that right in their mouth if no one stops them. I feel like these ones are pretty self explanatory. Razor because he's absolutely feral, Klee because she is very small and if you've ever worked with little kids... you know. Xiangling because she is an insane person when it comes to testing the limits of food. Qiqi has no sense of taste, I'd imagine Baizhu probably has to stop her from eating genuinely inedible things from time to time. Diona, Kirara, Lynette because, well, have you ever met a cat?
"Bugs are a regular part of many cuisines around the world it's not a big deal"
Smarty, well travelled types. They're worldly, they're cultured! They're also not terribly picky eaters! Beidou likes anything spicy, Kazuha and Haitham like anything that's flavored well (and Haitham isn't all that fussed about how food looks, either). Nahida is just naturally curious (though she is scared of fish and doesn't like them lol), so I think she'd be willing to give a well prepared bug dish a try. Faruzan is used to oooolllld Sumeru cuisine, and I image she would not turn her nose up at a traditionally prepared bug dish. Baizhu cares more about a foods nutritional density, and Tighnari lives in the woods and definitely definitely eats bugs.
If there's nothing else, food is food
May not be thrilled to eat bugs, but they know not to turn down a meal when the going gets tough. Almost everyone in this category is operating from the same logic, whatever is necessary to continue their journey or mission. There are some notable entries. Mona is only opposed to food that leaves her still feeling hungry, or is too fancy and frivolous. I think she'd appreciate the value in a nutritionally dense and protein-filled bug dish. The only food Gorou can't eat is onions, and otherwise is open to whatever is available. Collei noted that she'd eaten a lot of things while struggling on her own to get by, and isn't picky at all really. Cyno actually states that bugs and bug related foods are his least favorite of all, but he will still eat them when necessary.
Would try a bug once if dared or curious (or tricked into it)
The easily fooled and the boldly curious. People who would, knowingly or not, give a bug a try. Bennet is just unlucky and probably has accidentally eaten several already. Sucrose cares most about the nutritional density of her meals, and Albedo would have a scientific curiosity about it. Chungyun is absolutely getting played. Yun Jin eats the same thing every day and hates it, she'd be willing to try it just for something new. Yaoyao greatly admires Xiangling's cooking, and if Xiangling made her bugs she would eat them without question. Ayato loves trying weird food and also making Thoma try weird food, 10000% they have both tried bugs before, probably more than once. Itto has two brain cells that rarely work together, easily tricked into eating bugs (probably by Heizou tbh). Ei notably prefers sweets, but is generally just curious about what humans get up to in the modern day, and would try a prepared bug dish if offered. Navia is also a very adventurous eater, and her favorite food is anything new and interesting.
Would NOT try a bug themself but will dare/trick others into eating a bug
Tricksters, schemers, mischief makers the lot of them. Don't let these ones play you for a fool, they definitely would not eat bugs themselves but they 100% want to make some poor unsuspecting victim do it. Venti has absolutely tried this on Morax, more than once, despite repeated threats of death. Xingqui and Hu Tao have on more than one occassion gotten poor Chongyun to eat a bug. Yae Miko is... Yae Miko. Dori is just trying to turn a profit, selling bugs as a trendy new health food. Heizou loves nothing more than to be other people's problem. Lyney loves a mild amount of mischief, me thinks.
Would not try a bug, but wouldn't freak out about them
Politely declines bugs when offered. They aren't gonna freak out or be rude, because someone made this dish and clearly put in effort, but this is still a step too far out of the comfort zone then. This category was harder to pin down, and a lot of the deciding factor here was their voice lines for receiving a food they don't like. Gentle refusal, or apologies for being unable to eat what you've made (Amber, Ayaka, Nilou). Or otherwise, just people who aren't very reactive to begin with (Rosaria, Ningguang, Xiao), in which case, the answer is just a firm No, but no real fuss about it. Not much by way of notable entries here, but a few details stand out. Layla only seems to consume warm milk, sleeping pills, and take-out (girl get some HELP). Xiao actually ONLY eats Almond Tofu, so he'd refuse anything you bring him. Wriothesly refuses to drink Sigewinne's healthy smoothies, he's definitely not eating a bug but he won't make a stink about it.
HARD PASS
absolutely will NOT eat a bug, and will resent you for even offering. Fussy eaters, or just otherwise squeamish, these ones wont even entertain the idea. Kaeya is prissy, it's not happening, and the same goes for Fischl. Zhongli strongly dislikes fish or anything that reminds him of fish, and gives off the air of a quietly picky-eater. He would do his best to politely refuse, but internally is going "Ew Ew Ew". Yanfei's favorite food is tofu for its mild flavor and gentle texture, bugs would be... way too much for her lol. Xinyan is notably squeamish, one of her idles is freaking out over a frog coming too close. Definitely anti-bug. You can't even get Sayu to eat her veggies, she's NOT eating a bug. Kaveh is ALSO prissy, and Haitham would make fun of him for this. Wanderer barely eats as is, and he is constantly calling people 'unsightly insects'; he is not trying a bug. Furina is Furina, and Neuvilette only likes food that could be described as 'soggy as all hell', neither of them would be down for bugs. Ganyu is a strict vegetarian and bugs are not a vegetable, so a hard pass for her as well.
Will physically prevent others from eating bugs oh my god please don't do that
Would not eat a bug and will not let other people eat bugs around them. Not on their watch, put that DOWN. Jean believes knights should never be picky about food, but I highly doubt she would consider bugs edible just because of how unfamiliar they would be in Mondstat cuisine. She'd probably scold you for consuming something potentially hazardous. She and Lisa both also share the duty of stopping Klee from eating things she shouldn't so they're very very used to stopping people from doing this sort of thing. Diluc and Eula are both fancy well-bred folks who definitely definitely do not consider bugs food, and they're not about to let someone eat that in front of them. No. Absolutely not. If you're hungry, they'll buy you a meal but you shan't be eating that beetle, put that down. Keqing finds Xiangling's cooking extremely suspect, and doesn't approve of any unusual foods. If you're eating together, she's not gonna let that slide. Kokomi would probably immediately offer you something else, ANYTHING else. There's no need to eat that, please, surely even army rations would be better than that.

Summary: You danced a little too closely with death after acquiring your unique gift, and revelations are made.
You stared blankly at the assortment of innocent looking foods in front of you; healthy servings of onigiri, Sakura tempura and rice cake soup. Thoma sat across from you with an open notebook, pen waiting to note down your results as he stared at you expectantly. Ayato sat beside him, sipping his boba drink loudly as he also stared, expression unreadable. The tension in the air ran a shiver up your spine, even though the estate was the safest location you could stay in, you couldn’t help but feel as though you were under the piercing gazes of predators on the hunt. The silence dragged on while you thought back to how you even got roped into doing this kind of thing in the first place;
Being friends with the traveler opened many doors in your adventuring career. As a resident of Sumeru, your hunger for knowledge was what drove you to learn more about the other nations in Teyvat alongside their cultures and people. As someone who grew up in the rainforests with the rangers however, you often hungered for the strange plants you came across in the wilds, it was a habit you unintentionally picked up from a long eared old friend. That habit ended up becoming your greatest weapon after many arduous years of trial and error, much to the dismay of your ranger friends. Many times, you almost faced death only to be pulled by its clutches thanks to Tighnari and his quick thinking, yet even as he scolded you to high Celestia, nothing could stop you from rushing headfirst back into danger for the sake of knowledge. At the near cost of your friend’s sanity, you ended up either blessed or pitied by the gods as you grew an immunity to the poisons you consumed, but that simply fueled your desire to go out and learn more. Your travels first began in the city of contracts, as it was the chasm you entered when you left Gandharva Ville, the vast destruction was both intimidating and appealing to you. You only managed to make it out alive by being miraculously found by a Millileth soldier, who was quite shocked to see you wandering aimlessly around while shoving Qinxing flowers in your mouth. You were escorted into the city that you ended up spending a few months in, becoming acquainted to its people, culture, and food thanks to the soldier who found you, and eventually welcomed you into his home. Having a roommate who was native to the lands helped immensely in your studies, as he had maps of the region and connections to people if you had any questions he could not answer. To this day you still keep in touch with him, even after the countless times he had to drag your hallucinating ass to Baizhu in tears when you ate something that would most definitely kill someone who lacked your gift.
By the time the traveler had made their way into Liyue for the Rite of Descension, you had memorized every plant that was and was not safe to consume. It was what first introduced you to the traveler and Paimon, who were in the wilds of Guilin Plains searching for plants and berries to eat. Like a true forest ranger would, you graced them with your knowledge and a friendship blossomed. You joined their adventure not long after, being their guide into the city where the Rite of Descension took its wild turn. Before the turn of events, Liyue felt like a second home to you, with its many characters and personalities. You were good friends with Hu Tao, who caught wind of your strange gift and insisted you visit her at the funeral parlor so she can feed you many “strange and mysterious” plants that you ended up easily naming anyway. From her, you were acquainted to Zhongli, who was more than concerned that you were allowing his boss to eagerly feed you plants that are known to be poisonous, but he quickly became curious and intrigued when you explained that you can consume them without harm because its literally what you do, you eat dangerous stuff to study them and somehow gained immunity. Zhongli couldn’t help his intrusive thought one day when he invited you out to tea at Third Round Knockout, pushing a cup that was previously poured towards you. You made a show of sipping at the tea, immediately picking up the poison it was laced with and in the next second your head slumped against the table, shocking not only Zhongli but the other patrons at the tavern. The older man was by your side in an instant, hand on your shoulder and your name on the tip of his tongue before he saw you shake with laughter. Zhongli went through a flurry of emotions but was relieved when he saw how happy your little prank made you. In the end, you both agreed that there was no malicious intent, and you even gave him a small lesson on the type of poison he tried to use. From Zhongli you met Childe, who you were a little on the fence about since he was associated with the Fatui, so you never went further than an acquaintance relationship with him, even after he tried to subtly get closer to you. You ended up having to threaten him with poisoning *his* food since you were a walking encyclopedia of death, and you knew exactly what can’t be detected by the tastebuds if baked into a delicious pastry that you just so happen to have with you. You walked away oblivious to how much you turned him on with that threat.
Your relationships following the events of the Rite of Passing went all kinds of ways. Your relationship with Hu Tao was the one that suffered the least, the only damage was your lack of appearance since you were with the traveler fighting battles and facing gods. Through the quest you learned that Zhongli was actually the “deceased” Archon of Geo and you may or may not had dipped to gather your thoughts, having been overwhelmed with the revelation. It was a lot to think that Liyue’s archon was dead when in reality he was your friend who played a poison prank on you and listened intently when you were giving him extensive lessons on the various poisons Liyue offered and their symptoms. You were starting to wonder if maybe all the years of eating deadly plants was starting to take an effect on you when Zhongli, the ever so wise, sat beside you. The traveler and Paimon were only starting to notice your absence before you and your former archon friend reappeared with an air of reassurance between you both. Childe’s relationship with you was what suffered the most, you practically cut him out of your life and ignored his existence after the fight at Golden House and him summoning Osial, the scariest ocean monster you’ve ever seen, and had the displeasure of fighting. You still remember breaking his nose at the city gate, furious tears rolling down your cheeks as you screamed at him over his fuckup, not giving him a chance to speak as you described the sheer terror you felt of having to face something that monstrous, thinking that you were going to die without having fulfilled your dream. You never gave him a chance to apologize after you reminded him that he was the one who made you feel all of that, and with a final empty threat, you walked back into the city to join the traveler into the next chapter of their adventure. Your tears were easily brushed off as tears of missing your friends, which was a half-truth anyway as you hugged your two closest friends and bid them a farewell, promising to return and visit.
On the Alcor, the traveler talked to you about their time in the city of freedom. You listened intently as they talked about their battle with Dvalin, the friends they made along the way and how the city really has a different feel than Liyue. You couldn’t help but ask about the flora of the nation, which they sheepishly admit they weren’t paying too much attention to anything that wasn’t a sweet flower or mint. Arriving in Ritou started your next adventure, one that really tested your desire for knowledge as it took a few months before the shackles of Inazuma were released. You knew the nation was closed off, but after being told you can also get a travel’s permit with the traveler to ensure you don’t get kicked out, you knew it was a deal you couldn’t pass up. You forgot to read the fine print that was you’d later have to fight tooth and nail against the nation’s archon to free them from their oppression and only then, can you freely roam to eat your stinkin’ plants. In those months, while your first focus was to help the traveler find a way to meet with the archon, you still managed to sneak in late night sessions of flora eating. You apologized many nights for waking the traveler up with your incessant note taking, furiously writing down your new studies, new entries that you can’t wait to relay to Tighnari. Like the traveler, you became quick friends with Thoma, the handsome housekeeper of the Yashiro Commission. His good looks were so effective you forgot to inform him that you’re here to study poisonous plants, so when he came across you one night hunched like a gremlin and about to shove another plant in your mouth, one he knows is deadly, you felt like you were a guilty dog being scolded.
“[Name]…. what’s in your mouth—NO DON’T CHEW FASTER, SPIT IT OUT RIGHT NOW”, his screaming caused you to choke, only furthering his panic and he nearly broke your ribs while performing the Heimlich on you. That night you became acquainted with the Kamisato siblings, since Thoma manhandled you to them so you can get the best medical care. It was quite embarrassing to explain to a half asleep Ayaka and Ayato that no, you were not currently dying, yes you did eat a deadly plant but if someone can tell Thoma to stop panicking then you can explain why you weren’t actively dying. Ayaka was still a little confused, Thoma’s vibes were rubbing off on her and she wanted to insist that you still get care, but Ayato had an amused smile on his face, why are all the men on this island handsome? By sunrise, you had a clean bill of health and was in the middle of your life story with the trio, hot cups of tea in their hands and mixed expressions on their faces. Thoma looked the most intrigued, asking questions here and there, Ayaka looked horrified, her hand never strayed too far from her chest as she clutched her fake pearls, Ayato’s expression was the one you had the most trouble reading. He seemed intrigued, but it also seemed as if he was studying you himself, pulling some strings in his mind and forming a plan of how to keep you forever, it wouldn’t be bad for the Yashiro Commission to have a personal poison tester after all. Your friendship with the Kamisatos only grew from there, being invited to outings or to be their plus one to festivals, it was easy to fall into a comfortable lifestyle with them. So, when the time came that you and the traveler were asked to help abolish the vision hunt decree, you agreed without hesitation. For you it was a win-win; the nation will be free and thus you can freely travel between the islands to further your deadly plant studies! Your memory becomes hazy after that, as if everything happened all at once, despite it fleshing out over the span of a few months.

The birds chirp outside as Thoma sits across from you with an open notebook, pen waiting to note down your results as he stared at you expectantly. Ayato sits beside Thoma, sipping his boba drink loudly as he also stared at you, expression unreadable. The silence began to stretch on for another 3 minutes before you shiver and reach out to begin taking bites out of the assortment of food you were offered. It’s been about two months since the nation was freed, thanks to mostly the traveler. You were tired, worn and ragged from the war you came back from, but it didn’t stop the feeling of peace you felt at your core as you chewed on a rice cake.
“… It’s safe”, you mumbled, sneaking a second bite in before pushing the dish back and picking up an onigiri to chomp on. Thoma scribbled away in the notebook, nodding to himself as Ayato sets his drink down to watch you eat, a smile on his face. He was taking advantage of the free time Inazuma now has by asking you to be his personal food tester, it was a request he knew he couldn’t ask back then since you were busy with the vision hunt decree, but it was still a request he was itching to have you fulfill. He watched the way your face contorts with concentration, the way your eyes dart left to right as you chew, the way your brows knit tighter and relax slightly only to tighten up again and the way you tilt your head while you work magic in your intriguing little brain. There was something about the way you fearlessly try to pick out death from the flavors that has Ayato mesmerized, his smile growing fonder when your eyes light up, he knew that by the second bite you eagerly took from the onigiri that you found what you were looking for. “Oh, definitely poisoned… Where did they find the flora for this I wonder”, you ponder to yourself, missing the look Thoma gave to Ayato before the commissioner began to speak. “Worry not, we know exactly who sent that, so we’ll ask for you”.
By the beginning of the third month of freedom, the traveler was ready to continue their journey, and as it so happened, they were heading to Sumeru next. You smiled sadly at them, as much as you wanted to join them, you weren’t ready to return to your home nation just yet. They nod in understanding, squeezing your hand and telling you to finish what you had to do here and to meet them in Fontaine instead. There was still a lot of flora eating to do in Inazuma, and while you walk the traveler towards the boats that return to Liyue, you can’t help but sniffle out warnings about the various flora they should avoid if they want to reach Gandharva Ville alive and meet with Tighnari. “He’ll fill you in on the rest”, you hug the traveler and Paimon before sending them off, staying at the port until you could no longer see the boat and started your way back to the estate. Staying with the Kamisato siblings was like living in a completely different world; truth be told it was akin to living like royalty, you were still trying to get accustomed to letting the retainers pick up after you when you’ve gotten so used to picking up after yourself. It was under the insistence of Ayato and Ayaka that you began rooming with them, “The least we can do is offer you a much more comfortable abode while you continue your studies here”, Ayaka would beam at you, and you lost the will to fight against both her and her brother, moving the little equipment you kept with you to one of their spare rooms. Thoma loved having you around, you were very knowledgeable and never passed up opportunities to spread your poisonous wisdom during his housekeeping classes, he considered it extracurricular that could potentially help someone someday. Of course, you were as careful as you could be while staying with them, often warning the siblings and the retainers not to eat or drink anything you may have previously consumed because you often test the effectiveness of poisons through food and beverage. The idea of you becoming a personal poison tester for the estate only became more serious when a maid suddenly fell ill after consuming a pastry meant to be gifted to Ayato, and after your confirmation that it was indeed laced, you’re reminded that the sibling duo are often in danger of instances of unknowingly consuming poisoned offerings, so after contemplating heavily on it, you approached them and agreed that perhaps you could extend your stay and help trace back any poisoned goods and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Struck with a craving for something sweet on your way back to the estate you approach the stall that Tomoki was usually standing besides, your instincts on high alert when you saw a person you didn’t recognize standing in his place. It’s not unusual that Tomoki would miss a day or two, but something seemed off about this person, making your hackles rise despite the friendly smile you greeted them with. “Hello! Is Tomoki not in? I’d like some dango milk”, you inquired cheerfully, throwing in a curious head tilt for good measure while you inspected the suspicious figure. “He’s out sick, but he left plenty of milk to go around. Hey, aren’t you that hero that saved the nation?”, the person asks, reaching behind the cart to grab a bottle of milk and you notice its one that wasn’t part of the displayed bottles. You swallow thickly yet your smile didn’t waver as you dropped a few mora in their awaiting hand and take the drink offered. “Oh, I wouldn’t call myself a hero, but I definitely helped the traveler! Now I’m just a humble researcher studying the flora of this nation”, you chuckle, quickly thanking the person with a bow and hurrying off. You felt a cold chill run up your spine from the interaction, something felt seriously off about both the “merchant” and the bottle you were given so you took a detour to Komore Teahouse, pausing before the entrance. “… Hisashi?”, you call out, nearly jumping out of your skin when the man practically appears beside you, kneeling with his head bowed. Ayato had previously spoken to you about the Shuumatsuban, his secret ninja force, they’re fiercely loyal to the head of the clan, so when he informed you that you would be given permission to utilize them if you were in danger, warmth filled your chest.
“Inform our lord of the suspicious vendor attending Tomoki’s stall, something feels off about them”
“Right away, my liege”, and as quick as he appeared, he disappeared while you entered the teahouse and occupied one of the rooms. Retrieving your notebook from your yukata sleeve (you mastered the Kamisato Art of hiding shit in your sleeves), you opened to a fresh page to have on standby in case your intuition was right and you set to work, popping the bottle open and taking a healthy gulp. Sweetness coats your tongue, the texture a little thicker than you remember, your face scrunches when an air bubble pops and a powdery substance sticks to your tongue and throat, making you cough out what was in your mouth. “Whoa, don’t choke on it”, Thoma’s entering the room with a tea tray in hand, quickly setting it down and pouring you a cup. Before drinking the liquid, you scrape off the wet powder from the back of your tongue for further analysis and gratefully drink the tea that the retainer brewed, cleansing your palette. “Hisashi told me everything, Ayato is looking into that suspicious vendor you saw at the stall, and I figured I’d keep you company here just in case”, he beams at you and its like looking at a guardian angel. “Thank you Thoma, you’re such a lifesaver”, you chuckle while licking the finger with the strange substance on it, and all at once it hit you, the bittering numbness that was a surefire sign of poison. It appears to work quickly too, unless the little bit you consumed earlier was just now starting to kick as your hands refuse to pick up your pen, and at both yours and Thoma’s surprise you’re falling stiffly to one side, muscles as rigid as rigor mortis.
For the first time in a long time, Ayato is scared when Thoma bursts through the estate with you in his arms, the way you’re frothing at the mouth and your eyes were rolled back made him think you had finally met your poisonous match. He’s frozen, only able to watch as doctors follow in behind Thoma, thanks to his quick thinking he was able to gather a few to work on saving you. “…lord…. My Lord! Ayato!”, he’s pulled from his panic at the shouts of his retainer, who’s tugging on his sleeve, ushering him out of the room to give the medics more space. For the first time in a long time, he felt powerless at the mercy that was you and your dance with death, there was nothing he could do except pray to the archons that the best doctors Inazuma could offer will help pull you away from the clutches of death you’re currently struggling against. He’s been pacing outside of the door for hours now, waiting and listening in on the commotion that’s on the other side of what separates you to him. Its another half hour before Thoma is called into the room, and Ayato bites his tongue at the annoyance that courses through him, he wanted to see you, why can’t he be by your side? “I understand, I’ll bring them right away”, Ayato hears the voice of the pyro user and seconds later he’s rushing out of the room and beelining to yours, with the head Kamisato hot on his heels. “Thoma, are they alright?”, his voice cracks as he asks, his heart pounding harder in his chest when his retainer doesn’t respond right away, but instead begins to hand some dried herbs to him, a silent plea to hold them while he gathers some more in his arms. “Come on my lord, they’re gunna need these”, he’s out of the room in a few long strides, Ayato catching up to him quick and following him into the room you’re being held. He releases the breath he didn’t even know he was holding when he saw you sitting up against a pile of pillows, looking very weak but very much alive given the gentle smile you’re sending the two men.
“They’re very lucky they have gained such an immunity, its what was staving off the powerful poison in their system”, one of the doctors informs the hydro allogene, yet he barely processed it as he approached you slowly, setting the herbs down and reaching over to cup your face gently.
“If it wasn’t… For Thoma… I’d have –“, you’re shushed before you could finish the sentence, Ayato isn’t sure if his heart could handle you actually saying you could have died. He presses his lips against your forehead, concern once again flowing through him when he feels how clammy your skin is. “Are you alright?”, he asks softly, worried lilac eyes meeting with yours as you lift a trembling hand to cup over his.
“I need to make an antidote, which might take some time… But I should have enough here to keep the poison at bay in the meantime”, you pat his hand reassuringly, and even though Ayato’s anxiety goes through the roof when you’re thrown into a coughing fit, he has the utmost trust in you and your ability to be able to come up with a solution.
It's a tricky process, considering you were basically banned from stepping foot outside of the estate and if you needed a specific kind of plant, Ayato would send Thoma or a Shuumatsuban member for it. The suspicious vendor responsible for actually almost killing you was apprehended by the Tenryou commission for questioning, and to your surprise you learned that they were a spy sent from Snezhnaya to take out the “traveling heroes of Teyvat”. You’re internally grateful that the traveler was no longer in Inazuma to have experienced what you have, you have no doubt they wouldn’t have been as lucky as you. Still, you send a letter to them in Sumeru with the details and a warning to be careful, along with a report of the poison, its symptoms and a “tbd” beside antidote to be sent to Tighnari, you can already hear the forest watcher begin to lecture you about the risk you took in gathering this new knowledge.
“[Name]? The herbs you requested have arrived”, Ayato knocks on the door gently before entering, a bouquet of herbs delicately wrapped in parchment resting against his arm.
“Thank you, lets hope this batch will be successful”, you pull out your notebook from underneath your pillow, flipping to the latest page that’s full of scribbles and crossed out equations that failed. Ayato sits on the edge of the bed, setting the wrapped herbs down and reaching over to grab the mortar and pestle that was on your bedside table and the glass of water that awaits beside it. This had been your routine for the past few days, you’d test out a combination of herbs, wait a day and the doctor on call would check on your condition to determine if it was effective against the poison. Like clockwork, Ayato watches you mumble to yourself and pick off small pieces of herbs to throw into the mortar before using the pestle to grind it into a powder to mix into the water. The taste is horrendous but you chug it down regardless, praying to the archons that it actually works this time.
“How do you feel?”, Ayato asks, scooting closer so he can examine you as if you’d instantly be healed.
“Like I’m full of water”, you snort, closing your notebook and slipping it back under your pillow before looking at the man in front of you. His eye bags have gotten darker, it must be either from work piling up or your current state. “I think it’s gunna work this time, so I can hound you to take better care of yourself”, you frown at him, reaching over to rub a thumb along one of his eyebags and he sighs at the action, eyes closing and head leaning more into your open palm.
“I’ll worry about that when you’re not on the brink of death”, he shoots you a sly smirk, chuckling at your pouting face and pressing a kiss to your palm. Your cheeks flush. “I must confess something to you”, his voice is uncharacteristically shy, his sly smirk wiped away and his cheeks beginning to tint, the air suddenly growing tense and you could feel your heart begin to quicken.
“I must confess… That I love you, [name]. I’m ashamed that it took me witnessing almost losing you to realize my feelings, but they’re real and I’ll no longer deny them. Would you… Do me the honor of being mine?”, his brows are furrowed, you realize that concern is not a good look on him, you prefer to see him with his blinding smile, prefer to listen to the teasing lilt his voice takes when he pokes fun at you. Staying in the Kamisato estate made you realize a few things; you were still trying to get accustomed to letting the retainers pick up after you when you’ve gotten so used to picking up after yourself, Thoma is a literal walking ray of sunshine, Ayaka enjoys Chazuke in private, and you fell in love with Kamisato Ayato.
“Ayato… I was yours the moment I was asked to move in”, the smile that greeted you was ethereal, even in the dim lighting of your bedroom he looked heavenly, cheeks a rosy red that reached the tips of his ears and adoration in his gaze that you mirror in your own. He leans forward, intent on stealing a kiss from you until you press a hand to his lips, a giggle falling from you.
“Wait, I’m poisonous, remember?”, you snicker, Ayato chuckling against your hand before he laces his fingers with yours, opting to press his forehead against yours instead.
“I suppose I can wait a little longer for that then”.
Ayato is pleased when the doctor monitoring your condition confirms that your latest concoction is highly effective in combating the poison and was currently flushing your system, you should be fully recovered by dinner time. You’re shocked, not only did you manage to fight against a rather powerful poison you also threw together an antidote all by yourself, eat your heart out Akademiya researchers. A celebration is thrown for you at the estate following the good news, the evening full of good food, good friends, and good vibes. You’re in the middle of recounting a story of a similar incident that you experienced while in Sumeru, one where Tighnari was the one who threw together an antidote in hopes you didn’t go to the light when Ayato excuses you from the group to pull you outside to the garden illuminated by moonlight.
“What’s this? Did the Yashiro Commissioner miss me that much even though he saw me this morning?”, you tease, laughing when Ayato simply pulls you into his arms like a child clutching their favorite bear. While the celebration was full of mirth, the process of actually throwing the party was time consuming and tiring, so you didn’t get to spend much time with your boyfriend until now, arms wrapped around each other under the full moon.
“Is it a crime to miss my beloved? I feel like I haven’t seen you in far too long”, he’s chuckling against your neck, lips pressing gentle kisses against the skin and moving up along your jaw until he presses a kiss on the corner of your mouth. Your flurry of giggles is like music to his ears, he’d sit through a million boring meetings if that meant he could come home to you and your addicting voice.
“As it so happens, it is. You’ll be charged accordingly I’m afraid – your innocence will cost you one kiss”, you move your arms from his waist to around his neck, one of his hands rests on your hip while the other tilts your head up.
“Oh? Well, for you, I’d be happy to pay”, he whispers against your lips before he takes your breath away with a sweet kiss, literally because he tastes like milk tea.

brief dump on yang's genshin verse —
taiyang xiao long is from liyue and moved to mondstadt , where he met raven branwen and summer rose . he was married to raven and had a daughter with her before she left . he eventually remarried with summer and had ruby with her .
summer's fate is to be determined
yang has a pyro vision
yang gained her vision at the age of 13 when ruby was nearly attacked by a hilichurl
yang is a catalyst user but is hand - to - hand based
yang's elemental skill is to unleash a fiery punch
yang's elemental burst is when she absorbs damage and sends it back twice as hard . her eyes turn red and her hair flames up to signify this
she's essentially heizou but pyro except with c2 diluc's ability
she still lost her arm in an unfortunate accident involving a tougher fatui camp with enemies that were far stronger than she was . albedo managed to build a mechanical arm for her to use if she ever needs it
yang doesn't always wear her arm as she's still not comfortable with it , but she'll wear it when she absolutely has to
she travels a lot as she's a thrill seeker and an adventurer . she's always taking on guild requests and commissions . she also just likes to go off on her own for periods of time before returning . ( she always keeps in contact with her family , though )
she likes to hang out at angel's share , and inspired ( my ) diluc to create a " strawberry sunrise " drink .

@trashnyaittomylove yes yes! I thought so too anyone could be an adventurer but since they made the special wine i thought the logical thing is that they are from Mondstadt. However didnt thought that maybe one could be from Sumeru and they settle in Mondstadt, kinda like Thoma’s parents are Mondstadt/Inazuma. So yeah there is still some chance that Razor’s mom is from Sumeru which could connect them to Cyno😭 we still need more info tho and something concrete varka pls😂
