C!wilbur is going to kill himself.

from the usage of "Wilbur soot was the sovereign ruler" implying that even if Dream wrote it (which, spoilers he did) he will still be dead. C!wilbur at this time believes that he himself is at fault for a lot of pain, just as he was when L'manberg blew up. L'manberg was and is the same as Wilbur, at the time of the Pogtopia arc he believed that the end to all this pain would be to end L'manberg and himself. Even in new L'manberg it was like this, the country being a clear shadow of its former self, just as Ghostbur was in the shadow of Wilbur and only the good things people remembered about him and only the good things Wilbur remembered about himself. His death was a fond memory. Ghostbur was an imitation of Wilbur, he was a person but L'manberg was a country . L'manberg getting overgrown becoming this monolith of growth just as he was revived. Symbolizing his own growth (albeit not positive) from when he was once alive.

Yet, in his eyes all this pain is repeating again, Eret talking down to him, pinning a majority of their own issues on him, Fundy killing himself in front of his father just as Wilbur did himself. Finally seeing the tower at Logstedshire- despite that not being a direct result of himself I don't doubt that him threatening suicide in front of Dream was a form of his own internalized guilt. He again, sees himself as a monster. He sees himself as the one causing all the pain. The shadows of himself on the server often being represented as holes, explosions, blood, pain, death. Wilbur as much as he loves being alive thinks he deserves death. He deserves to be a legacy and nothing more because in his mind that's all he is, that's all L'manberg was. A legacy.

He puts himself up on a block each time he's uncomfortable. each time he feels smaller and each time it's him not wanting to open up- not wanting to get close to people in fear he will hurt them. It's almost poetic how putting himself up on a block- a pedestal is representative of the legacy he wants. He so desperately want's to be a fond memory. The end of the Tubbo stream being "He'll remember you for this," telling himself that his legacy will be better than him, that he wants to be a good memory but knows he wont.

Not telling Tommy about the plan was him wanting Tommy to distance himself from him. He doesn't want Tommy to hurt more than he already has and he believes that Tommy should hate him. Not refuting Tommy's insults when their walking to the community house, just taking it. Because in his once-dead heart he knows its true.

he only hurts

and that's why he wants to die.

i gonna be so real and honest here and say that some of you do not know how to read:

QSMP2024 is still the same damn server with the same damn lore and they are STILL ON THE SAME DAMN ISLAND

Phil pointed out yesterday how they were 200k blocks away, today Luzu tried using the waystones but they were deactivated because the waystones in the og spawn and surrounding areas are still there, when Cucurucho was going around talking to the islanders he asked “how are you liking THIS PART of the island”

there wasnt no lore restart nor this is a new server, the lore is still there, but this is day TWO of this new era of fucking course theres no lore, bad even said that today on stream that “there could be lore at any point.” the eggs even have immunity!

yes! it was kinda shitty that Richas and Pomme went without Phil to rescue Cellbit and Baghera but maybe, just maybe, you guys should remember that this people have lives outside of the server and maybe phil couldn’t make it to the recording of the video!

Willy pointed out today that the reason he stopped logging in when he first joined the server was because everyone else was already way too OP with literal castles and armor so tough they would barely get scratched by mobs when he barely had diamond armor, so he got discouraged and didn’t logged on again. Now that everyone is back at being balanced he wants to log in again! Maybe even tell Vegetta to log in again!!

edit but also general minecraft knowledge: they probably traveled so far out to get new world generation because they jumped from 1.18 to 1.20 (from what i can see because the spawn wouldn’t generate stuff like deep dark don’t generate on already loaded chunks), so that is why they are 200k+ blocks out. also the create mod didnt got taken out, its just disabled at the moment because the admins probably dont want another tubchunk.

you guys SERIOUSLY need to stop doomposting and trust in the admins and in Quackity.

UPDATE: Baghera has talked about having planning issues and thats why they had to cancel the rescue mission with Phil!

and Fit said that his lore is STILL ONGOING

What sucks is that I can feel that a major split in the fandom is probably inevitable now

I guess this is doomposting but I can already see it happening

idk, I'm gonna support the workers in any case

I don't particularly care about the current argument over the union, it's pure distraction to shift the discussion away from the actual problems, as if anyone here actually cares about the union and not just what the union can possibly facilitate

But I do care about the employees and former employees of QSMP and they deserve respect and dignity and credit, not slander or vague passive-aggressive accusations

Which I've unfortunately seen even from people I know and care about, even people I follow or used to follow here on Tumblr, even people I consider friends

So, I feel like I should just be honest here, idk how I'm gonna handle this diplomatically in order not to burn too many bridges unnecessarily, because I don't actually want to lose people over this, but I do also have principles

I had no animosity towards Quackity before this, I hope you can see that from my blog history; I've never been a cc!Quackity hater. Unfortunately at this point I do need to see him do better than this, because his employees and former employees deserve better

If he does actually try to make it all up for them, if he actually talks to them with respect and a willingness to listen to their concerns and their experiences, then I have no more beef with him

I don't think he's a bad person, but he is doing a bad thing

Are you going to give Arknights: endfield a go when it releases?

Yep, but I've been honest on stream about my current impression on it: It doesn't look too good. We talked about it, and basically, Liduke wasn't the best option for art director to be honest. She's really good at what she does but what she does, is lacking in scope: The colors don't look good, too muted, too sterile, designs aren't super good, no design has wowed me the way pre-release Arknights designs wowed me (Specter, Hoshiguma and Skullshatterer made me very hype, to name a few). It's like I'm looking at a slab of dirt. Just... Where's the color? In the maps and the designs of the characters. The moment Angelina showed up in her Bloodline of Combat fit, it was so funny to me, because her bright red jacket instantly became the single most colorful thing in the entire game.

Liduke works very well with pale blacks, whites, reds, yellows, and complimentary winter palettes. Look at Hellagur, Schwarz, (her) W, (her) Ines, etc, they look really good. But that's because we have an overarching cast and world of color to contrast them to. When everything is like that, it doesn't look good. I'm a bit disappointed by Endfield's presentation, to be honest.

The gameplay, or what we've seen of it... Doesn't really look fun. It's plain and simple as that.

It's rather difficult for me to write this because I strongly believe in not doomposting and looking at the virtues of things, but at least from what we've seen, it's just being very difficult to find these virtues in Endfield. The best thing I can say is that I still have faith in it simply because Arknights has really delivered to hell and back in terms of being a game and in terms of sheer raw style. The way it keeps evolving Tower Defense (and Tower Offense, to be honest!) is impressive, so I have no doubt brilliant and passionate minds are working behind Endfield, but it feels bad framing it this way because I'm saying "I like their other work" without being able to find a lot to say about Endfield by itself.

I'll give it a try, because I love Arknights and Hypergryph has been phenomenal in my opinion, but if this was a stand alone game not associated with HG or AK, I really don't think I'd look at it twice, and it saddens me to say. I'm hoping to be proven wrong.

I'm seeing a large amount of anxiety posting or doomposting here tonight so I'm just gonna take this opportunity to remind everyone here that it's okay to feel that way but if it ever gets too much, it's okay to just walk away.

Even just for a little bit, close the tab and go get a drink of water or just take a minute to yourself.

Don't feel obligated to interact with anything that causes you to feel stressed out.

It's okay to be optimistic about the situation in the same way that it's okay to be more critical. Unfortunately in the grand scheme of things, we don't have all the answers or the knowledge of what's going on behind the scenes, we won't know how things are happening until it's publicly announced.

The dismissal of the update account admins isn't really something that any of us wanted to hear had happened but it's at least a sign that things are actually being done behind the scenes.

Even if it may not seem like much it's at a small piece of proof that the admin funding issues are being addressed. Of course it unfortunately meant that it was revealed that they couldn't afford to keep the updates accounts admins but it's a small modicum of knowledge that they're at least looking into funding admins behind the scenes.

It's still frustrating not knowing what's going on and being left in the dark but ultimately there's nothing we can do except wait for news from an official source.

If I'm being honest stopped really watching as much Qsmp since the admin break, I've watched a couple past vods here and there and obviously I still watch Bad everyday (it's literally a part of my daily routine at this point) but I've not really been marathoning povs like I used to.

The admins were the life of the server and without them it just feels wrong, I was remaining hopeful while I watched Bad play on the server but his statement about reaching his limit today sorta hit.

Because yeah, I've reached a limit too.

I still love Bad and my other cubitos but the server right now just isn't hitting the same. So I'm gonna take my own advice and step back from the content and its fandom for a little bit.

Ultimately there's nothing I can do to help the situation at all and contributing my thoughts on something I have no real knowledge of just isn't really helping anyone.

I'm not getting overwhelmed by the doomposting or anything, I'm just choosing to distance myself for a little bit.

Although I do have qBads backstory to thank for reminding my old Ancient Mythology special interest from years ago which has overpowered my recent Qsmp fixation, so at least my brain has something to do while I take my little Qsmp break for a day or two :)

Im not gonna really say much in the doompost sense or any cc crit (i dont do that at all really...). But I will say that yeah it's disappointing but not surprising. So many people via stream/directly saying/etc. have remarked on the dsmp communication issues that have only gotten worse over time. I really do think going forward just the dsmp in general needs a 'get on the same page meeting' of some kind. And those that want to continue lore can do so and those who have arcs that need finishing can finish them. And as much as i'd love to them to be live, if the arc needs to be finished on ao3/released scripts/something easier/etc. i'll take it. I think both the fans and those who want to do lore but have a cc involved who is no longer interested deserve some sort of resolution. I also think ccs in general should be more honest about plans "soon" is not enough. I'm 100% okay with a cc going "i am bored of my lore and dont feel like doing it right now" because then its known.

Note: you can add on but dont take my post as vagueing any cc's in particular /srs.

Ughhhh i tend not to be the doomposting type but like . i have to say. as much as i love her design and how insane her animations are and just her as a character. arle being just another pyro on field dps that desperately wants bennett (near 30k dps loss without him according to some calcs apparently) is just..... Sigh

like unironically idek if i really need to get her on release at this point unfortunately 😔 and chiori genuinely being the first fucking 5* in this game outside of a hypothetical ajax alt that i actually kinda sorta wanna just hard commit to and c6 over her next few reruns is like. not helping. like i could be trying for her c2 instead

the situation with her numbers seeming on the underwhelming side (? grain of salt) i think will be alleviated like theyll buff her for sure but just. bennett dependency is the ONE thing. that doesnt fly in this household. if i cant nuke 250k on childe every abyss every time whats the fucking point 😭😭 i get that its like in character for him and arlecchino to fight over a support since the harbingers dont get along but man. its so underwhelming.

like . i just Dont hand bennett out to other teams 💀 like yea applies to kazuha too but Technically if i really wanted to i could just take the time to learn guoba swirl on sucrose and keep running childe but w bennett its like nuh uh.

i only got yoimiya After yunjin made her bennett independent. i never ran raiden in abyss pre-dendro. i ran navia + furina with charlotte at first and now xianyun, not bennett despite him being the best buffer healer there. The predecent is quite clear 💀💀

like theres actually a part of me that would rather just wait for the pyro archon as the desperate last bid that instead of pyro on fielder number 17 she might turn out to be that mythical honest fucking bennett sidegrade (no upgrade lol theyll never powecreep him) and then id have an easier time considering arlecchino 😔 but now its just like. idek what id even get out of her gameplay wise unfortunately

i just wanna be hype for her man like everything about her outside of the kit minutiae is brilliant. peak. showstopping. but at this point ive already benched enough on field 5* carries who just havent been engaging for me that i just rly dont know 😭😭😭

idk what started it but theres a lotta grumpiness with the continued miscommunication and organizational issues the dsmp has. i think some new info came about like eryn messaged a fan detailing the lore plans he had that he had to give up on bc lack of cooperation made it impossible. so people are doomposting and complaining and looking for ccs to blame. some of it is honest good faith criticism but there’s a lot of negativity goin around. it’ll blow over in a day it just sucks rn

#and who knows maybe now that wilbur’s acknowledged our gripes it means we’ve caught more of their attention and they’ll work on fixing it #but my hopes are not up #ask #anonymous #discourse

My safari through current social media alternatives

So I figured that after a week of Twitter doomposting by other people, I'd weigh in with my thoughts on the vibes/applications of social media sites that people have migrated to. This isn't meant to be a scientific tier list, just thoughts.

Tumblr

I haven't been here in years. Things are largely the same, but there's been some UI improvements, and I've liked things like the new posting UI (still needs some work. Would prefer Markdown, but I get how zoomers aren't going to put up with that).

Aesthetically, it feels like the transition from being 18 to 22. Like, the company voice is a bit more older/sassier/"leaning into what people told it that its strengths were" and I don't know if that's good or bad. I feel that it's a bit limiting but I think Tumblr needs all the help it can get.

I've also noticed a lot more gamification, encouragement, "things that you are doing correctly that we are going to enforce" from Tumblr itself, which is probably positive.

Probably will be fine in the short term.

I'm having trouble with Cohost mostly because I've done the least amount of exploration for new people to follow or hashtag discovery. I really like the post editor (it's Markdown, see above) but I can understand how that's going to hurt it.

It reminds me of a university/college internal website for students, aesthetically. I don't want to say "who is this for?" but there's a larger deficit when it comes to its identity as a site. Tumblr is clear what it wants to be, and who it wants to house, and Cohost was sold to me "for creators" but I have less idea how/why/beyond that.

Clicking into a tag for "league of legends" (which I guess might be a good comparison across platforms) the last post in that tag was 3 days ago.

Yeah, I'm kinda thinking Cohost is gonna be dead, or a zombie like Vero Social in a year.

It's hard to talk about Mastodon due to the nature of federation, so I can only zoom out and talk about "the normie experience" that I'm seeing.

I think people are using Masto as a bit of a panacea; they see a familiar Twitter-ish interface, but are lost with the tech-speak of federation and what it might mean. I've seen ambitious people start their own instances and think it's "building a new Twitter" in terms of scale expectations, but it's not. You're essentially building your own pillow fort.

The thing is, I think some people might be... hoping otherwise? Like, the stuff that's interesting me most about Masto is the Lord of the Flies scenarios happening in certain circles, where they're finding out:

How much work actually goes into moderation, and how unsexy it is

What happens when people you don't know/can't vet are joining your instance

What happens when people have a visible person they can point their grievances to

To be honest I'm not optimistic about Mastodon but I think it serves a purpose in educating people about what was convenient about Twitter. They'll go crawling back, and maybe a few people will embrace the "local" group they've now joined.

Some normies literally have never had the experience of joining a small forum and learning to love that community; this isn't that. It's more like Reddit, where one account enables you to post everywhere, but you might find a "home" subreddit.

I've been using Pinafore as a better UI for Masto and I've been enjoying it.

Other thoughts

I joined The Hive about two seconds ago, but I'm moreso just reserving a username in case it blows up. A two-person team and being on the market for multiple years before this kind of makes me wary, mostly because I think they're hungry to accept any kind of winning milestone, and that means they're going to listen to anyone if it makes them think they can keep the momentum.

Tech users largely don't know what they want, and it's going to waste the resources of a dev team in order to try to get everyone satisfied. If they're doing crowdfunding, I'm kinda also pessimistic, because man that's setting up for some "I paid for X!" complaints.

What's funny/cool is I've gotten "mattd" on all these platforms, not "mattdemers." Kinda nice to shift a little bit because I'm very insecure about saying my last name verbally and having people be able to find me. Oh well.

I'm remaining like actually anonymous for this, but you'll probably guess who I am based on how I type. Sorry for venting in your asks, I mention s/h, but it's not graphic.

I feel like I should post about the situation, but I seriously don't want to! I try to keep positive on my page (even if I'm mostly an angst writer).

I know scrolling through the situation tag is a form of s/h for me (<- dealt with a similar situation), and I think posting about it would make it worse. I don't feel like I'm deserving of the break I'm trying to give myself.

I do find myself doing the same thing, i relish in the qsmp discourse tag sometimes or scroll blogs myself for the same reason, its definitely a form of s/h, i just call it wallowing.

You dont have to post or reblog anything about it if you choose not to! I know a lot of people say you should regardless of your blogs "theme" or "vibe" but thats a more recent internet culture thing that i dont personally agree with. Your space on the internet is something you curate not just for yourself but for the people who follow you and see your content, its easy to say to repost or talk about something when its not something that actively harms you or is considered "doomposting" (<- i dont love that term but thats a dif issue)

As a bad main i like to compare it to him choosing not to swear and asking the others not to swear around him too - he could choose to swear, and he could choose to let others swear (as he's done tactfully depending on the situation) but he doesnt because he curates his audience and chooses to make it as family friendly as possible (when foolish isnt around LMAO)

and in the words of the man himself "Sometimes a man just feels like suffering, chat!" Dont feel bad about doomscrolling, dont feel bad about doing that sort of thing as a form of s/h, its destructive but its not something to be ashamed of.

honestly, i am not wrapping my head around whatever worldchanging event is planned to happen in the future, and like, as far as im aware we haven't gotten a guarantee that dream smp season two is going to be a narrative follow up to current character arcs, like it well might be but yknow. and i'd love to hang onto wilbur saying that his character would still be around after his 'ending' but he said that. around somewhere january february where as far as i know there hadn't even been the discussion of a server reset (+ 'im gonna miss c!wilbur' pretty strong indicator that he Won't be around after his finish). my dislike of a permadeath for character quackity doesn't really stem from me doubting that ghostq wouldn't be around to goof of later but rather that cq dying would be uh. reductive to the themes from the last lnv stream (charlie's legacy) and the overall positive character development (renouncing revenge, trusting others), i don't want him Dead in the end i just want him to be slightly miserable

yeah that's just a bummer, that was like One of the biggest questions of the dsmp. what the fuck was going on with ranboo and dream and the prison and the lessons, can either of them please just pull another ho16. i mean fandom spaces filling in with speculation and theories is Fine but i'd really like some concrete answers boys.

yeah that, i mean it was cool seeing the scripts (only wilbur. why on earth did you need to specifcally talk about schlatt's 'bulging muscles'. Why) and i can't really imagine they got any less complex in between the green festival and now, but still. we as the audience can't tell if sapnap reacting so. uh. frigidly to dream's torture was something the ccs agreed on beforehand or if the only direction they had was 'sapnap and dream fight over the armor'. idk i guess it's best interpreted by how the ccs handle it in the follow up (like with really most things on the smp), if ccsapnap makes it clear that his character is in denial about his fiance or if they just re-roll the torture reveal in a confrontation between him q and dre where he can react appropriately.

oh you too? one of my latest drafts is literally an essay titled is cdream actually obsessed with ctommy. even if we do not actively participate we cannot escape the discourse. the rest is just slightly more lighthearted if unhinged church prime and doomsday takes. and a litany of endless rambles about cwilbur (affectionate (derogatory (affectionate (he's so dumb))))

to be perfectly honest, i can't see the ccs following your reasoning at all but you do you. i rewatched the logstedshire/journey to logstedshire scene about three times by now and i honestly can't find the part you're referring to. do you maybe have a clip or a timestamp because if that really was a detail that he intentionally implemented, it's interesting that he didn't put more focus onto it or let cwilbur talk about it more freely. (like even In logstedshire my boy was Not being subtle about his hero worship, tommy literally said: 'he hurt me. he hit me :(' and wilbur just went 'well maybe he's just misunderstood' <- objectively one of the funniest scenes in the entire dsmp)

believe me i am so looking forward to cdream turning cq into minced meat (either psychologically or physically), it's going to be really really fun.

im stupid. i straight up forgot about the other sam's. sorry sam bucket, sam nook. i don't really watch sam outside of his dream smp stuff, so i don't really know, but honestly outside of ccs that we 100% know are wrapping up for good (wilbur) i feel like most speculation kind of cliffdives at the 'world changing event' because we don't know what it's going to entail for the characters and their relationships. or if it's going to do anything to 'fix' the dsmp at all (doomposting pogchamp)

don't worry you're not alone with rooting for the unlikeliest of happy endings *looks at c!crime despairingly* i understand your sensibilities. my friend i am hanging onto hope the same way a convict hangs onto his noose.

ccq please just let them have one conversation it would be so rad, preferably one before and one after dream did whatever he plans to do to las nevadas or q himself. because i honestly don't think quackity's going to break crumble crumple the same way sam did (they are very different personalities) but that doesn't mean he's not going to be affected that and that difference between them is what i want to be shown on screen (<- is slightly overinvested in these characters)

I mean I'm still betting on the world changing event being Dream's plan I have seen some people say it would be something like a server reset which I really don't think it's that cc!Dream has already said the server won't be reset but some other people say it might be something like the characters's losing their memories eh tbh I don't really have any expectatives for what it could be I just hope it actually happens and it isn't another case of just SoonTM

It's not a server reset and people have always spoken about resetting it so I am more willing to believe that it will be a continuation of plot to some degree but really who knows cc!Wilbur has seemed to be pretty consistent with everything he's said so far it's gonna happen to his character so I am more inclined to believe he will still be around just not active because I don't really know what the other alternative would be like c!Wilbur has every single death flag possible raised up but i just I guess I trust cc!Wilbur's writing more than that so the only other thing I can think about is him literally physically leaving the server then

Oh yeah I guess him dying would kinda mess that up tbh I don't tend to think much about the Themes of the story and stuff because it doesn't really work a lot with this kind of media I would say

Unfortunately I really ought to doubt we would ever get that because cc!Dream doesn't talk about his character in any actually concrete way ever point blank and I think cc!Ranboo would be more willing to explain why Tubbo has him muted than actually fulfill his character so yeah guess that plot point is kinda dead unless we actually get the c!Dream pov and he just explains it on his own or something someday

I just hope at some point he acknowledges it again even if it's to say he doesn't care about it which would suck or something but at least it would give some explanations to his feelings on the subject matter I suppose

I feel like the doomposting more than anything at least from what I saw really started with cc!MichaelMcChill saying that everybody wanted to reset the server and do something else because the audience just didn't appreciate their hard work enough and whatever else so I suppose that + the world changing event really got people panicking but eh I have never trusted McChill's sayings of anything at all because more often than not he's just talking out of his ass and saying things that are pretty easy to disprove so yeah <-- personal beef with MichaelMcChill showing through

Doomposting makes me super anxious tho so maybe I'm just better at avoiding it and that's why I haven't seen it tho so that too

I am so sure c!Crime boys it's going to have if maybe not a happy ending then a hopeful ending I just think both the ccs love their characters a little too much like to leave them to suffer forever but yet again cc!Wilbur does have a love for angst rarely seen in the wild I would say

Oh for sure Quackity isn't gonna break the same way Sam did after all they have done pretty different stuff for completely different motives and their personalities just don't really alignt but they both committed this crime together are part of the same nation and are deeply scared of the vengance of the same one person so I really wanna know how that's gonna show on Q before and after Last Nevadas falls I really don't see him cowering and fetching food Sam style but I can still see him scared and angry through it all

Duddeee when c!Tommy was like here I was Exiled and abused and hurt and c!Dream did all of that to me Will and c!Wilbur just looked around himself and went well did you deserve it tho I was about to scream like oh my God

Oh yeah c!Wilbur has never been subtle about his hero worship which I just find so funny because it leads to scenes like when him and c!Tubbo were looking at the crater and c!Tubbo was like you know how Dream Techno and Phil did this and he immediately went oh my God yeah Dream did this I love him and Tubbo just went like okay but focus!!!!! C!Wilbur what a guy s total wet cat out of ten

Oh and about a clip I guess I could find it but it would take me a while more than anything I just saw it used to reference the Stone Theory so yeah

I am going to watch Wilbur's latest lore stream that I can't believe I missed yesterday because I was out now and probably have a heart attack or something
