PRIDE MONTH JUNE 2023

Pride Month 2023 is popular in social media at the moment. So coincidentally, it seemed an opportune time to share a runic rainbow circle design that was originally created a year ago that coincidentally popped up within my MS OneDrive reminder 2023/06/07.

●

This design was created whilst developing the "Textures of Bifröst - Abstract Staves" collection. The rainbow rune circle ultimately did not sit well with the final collection shared on Instagram & Facebook 2022 - 2023. However, since a shameless nod towards Pride Month 2023 would be unlikely to do any harm, this seemed a fortuitous time to finally share this design.

Sigyn.

The one that burns the britghtes in the darkest moments. And the one that all to manny forgott.

Her name means "freind of victory" and is the wife of "the burden of Sigyn's arms" Loki.

While Loki had a love afair with Angraboda, Sigyn is his true wife. And no matter what he did she is true and loyal to him. Shes listed as one of the Asir and one of the disir by snorri, unlike Loki whos a Jötunn.

For me shes a goddess of strenght in tuff times, a goddess of strengt and light in the dark. This is also why for me she is included during Disablot, when the nights are long and the the world still cold, to find strength in the one that stod for endless nights awaiting light and reelife.

I find her also as a goddess of victory, to do her name. I find her surprisingly innocent compared to her husband, with a good nature, but very choosy of who she helps.

So, I'm sure I'm not the only one upset seeing how nazis are appropriating Norse runes and stuff more lately (Also: 🤢 🤮) I've seen others before say that those who practice norse/etc should continue to wear them but to also wear their pride and BLM stuff loudly with them, so as to (A) not just let the nazi's have them, but also more importantly (B) so that people seeing them wear it wouldn't be uncomfortable or scared because it'd signal they didn't side with the SHitler babies.

And all this has made me want to design pride runes or something. Make designs of them that are so blatantly gay that nazis won't wanna touch them. Fucking rainbow runes- Just cover them in all the pride flags. Anything to tell nazis "fuck you, you can't take them."

And so I've started with these designs below. Loki written in runes over a few different flags that remind me of him and that I felt others would resonate with.

I've got the full-res designs hosted on my Ko-fi as free downloads for anyone who wishes to use them. Print them on a shirt, make yourself stickers, use on gifts for others- whatever. I'll also have them available on Threadless for those who don't want to or can't print them on stuff themselves but still want something with the design on it. Each sale will also make an automatic donation to various LGBT+ charities like The Trevor Project and the It Gets Better Project.

I'll be making more rune designs and also be taking requests for a bit if there are any pride rune/norse designs anyone might want to see made.

(Also while I was brainstorming ideas I drew some rune stone sets, [my fav is the glowy one] I'll put them under the cut so this isn't so long)

But yeah I'll probably be adding these to my Ko-Fi as free downloads too eventually. If anyone is super interested, or wants to make a request, just shoot me an ask and it might get me to upload them sooner lol

RUNE ART: ICE RAINBOW STAVES - BIFRÖST SHINING REVISITED

These shows the collection 'Ice Rainbow Staves: Bifröst Shining Revisited' which was shared on Facebook and Instagram July 2022 to September 2022 by gifts-of-heimdall-runes.

●

The original rune art project 'Bifröst Shining' was shared on social media late 2020 & early 2021.

●

In Norse mythology BIFRÖST was a shining bridge that connected the realm of Midgard (man & nature) to the Gods in Asgard. "Bifröst Shining" designs the became a representation of an inner reflection journey experiencing Bifröst the Rainbow Bridge and understanding how it transforms and transcends the branches and roots of Yggdrasil, the World Tree.

ICE RAINBOWS are otherwise known as circumhorizontal arcs and are rare optical phenomena caused by refraction of sun or moonlight in plate shaped ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere.

●

The backgrounds for this collection were all created via Mirror Lab app using various collected textures sourced via Pinterest using my personlised colours model for the three Ætts (red / green = first eight; blue / black = second eight; gold / silver = third eight.)

●

The rune correspondence key word for each design only reflected condensed personal meditations and should not be considered having any objective significance other than perhaps providing inspiration for others within their own rune journeys among the nine realms of Yggrasil.

Solstice is almost here :> Been meaning to do a Loki solstice piece between doing Warhead pages and the only time I managed to find was before and after I was sick with the flu for a week.
