The one that burns the britghtes in the darkest moments. And the one that all to manny forgott.

Her name means "freind of victory" and is the wife of "the burden of Sigyn's arms" Loki.

While Loki had a love afair with Angraboda, Sigyn is his true wife. And no matter what he did she is true and loyal to him. Shes listed as one of the Asir and one of the disir by snorri, unlike Loki whos a Jötunn.

For me shes a goddess of strenght in tuff times, a goddess of strengt and light in the dark. This is also why for me she is included during Disablot, when the nights are long and the the world still cold, to find strength in the one that stod for endless nights awaiting light and reelife.

I find her also as a goddess of victory, to do her name. I find her surprisingly innocent compared to her husband, with a good nature, but very choosy of who she helps.

I'm not totally sure how people reconcile the idea that the gods, particularly the Æsir, represent order against chaos with the fact that Óðinn constantly goes around starting conflict and war so that he can harvest souls. At least according to sources like Hárbarðsljóð.

The first image is from Åsa gravfält (Åsa grave field), an Iron Age burial ground of approximately 250 different grave sites, including 45 barrows and about 160 stone circles. The most famous, in which I am standing, is the ancient stone ship setting,called Asa judge's seat. It is 33 meters long and eight meters wide and originally consisted of 24 standing stones (today 18). Re: the viking thing, the majority of scandinavian far right/nazis are way more interested in protestantism and specifically christianity vs islam than fornsed/asatro nowadays because they have gone massivly populist. They arent interested in runes or anything but they want to re-merge the church and state because they are conservatives. I hear what you're saying and while it's true that most neo Nazis would claim to be Christian more than any other religion, there is a deeply sickening trend of white nationalism that unfortunately has managed to give modern Norse revivalist religion a bad name.It's bad enough online even that many Heathen bloggers have to specifically say they ARENT nationalists, or risk being lumped in with them.That's not to say other religions are better. Every religion with white people in it has the potential to have white nationism in it after all. It's just become tragically over stated on the Norse side because of how the religion and symbols have been misappropriated.Driving out toxic people and toxic philosophy is an uphill battle, sadly.

He was a great defender of Heathenism in Norway during the period of forced conversion to Christianity. He opposed the Christianization of Scandinavia and defended the Nordic tradition. Under the protection of Harald Bluetooth, of Denmark, Jarl Haakon was installed as the ruler of Norway. Apparently, he never took the title of king as the histories and sagas all call him Jarl. Jarl Haakon broke his allegiance to Harald when the king of Denmark tried to force him to convert to Christianity. Jarl Haakon would not dishonor his ancestors, or his folk, by giving up the Old Gods. The Christian Danes attacked but were defeated at the battle of Hjorungavar in 986. In 995, the Christian, Olaf Trygvasson, Olaf I, arrived in Norway with an army, and quickly Jarl Haakon lost support and had to flee with a slave. The slave betrayed him and took the Jarl's life hoping that Olaf Trygvasson would spare him. Olaf killed the slave as well. I honor Jarl Haakon on April, 9th, of every year, for the way I have defended the old religion against the Christians, and for its strong support of our temples and our Gods and Goddesses.
