Thinking about how 12 year old Percy took one look at Hades and described him as lithe, graceful and powerful, his eyes mesmerizing. Percy wondered what Hades underwear looked like. He wanted to lie down at his feet and take a nap. 100% attracted instantly.
And then two years later, Hades' 10-12 year old child Nico comes along and falls head over heels in love with Percy, while Percy risks his life to defend Nico and Bianca from Dr. Thorn. Nico starts hero worshipping this super powerful demigod that so protective and attractive.
And in return by the end of ttc and botl Percy starts seeing Nico as this kid he needs to protect and takes the weight/heat of a great prophecy so Nico doesnt have to, and Percy becomes the pseudo-parent of Nico by feeding him and worrying about his safety and protecting him.
And then you think in a crack AU version of PJO this would've turned into the world's most awkward love triangle right?
Then you remember that in tlo Hades and Nico worked together to successfully lure Percy down to the underworld. (Not to mention that kidnapping is a thing for Hades, it's how he got his wife). I-

My favourite unintentional effect of the casting for the new PJO TV series is Percy's new looks, which make him look similar to Will Solace. Nico is going to be like "dont worry guys I'm definitely over percy alright" and goes and dates the apollo-flavoured percy

just another reason // perico fanfic // chapter one
Percy Jackson had never understood the phrase “beating yourself up”. When he was a child, he thought it meant to literally beat yourself up.
Like repeatedly punching yourself in the face.
But now he understood.
Ever since Bianca Di Angelo’s death, he’d hated himself for not trying harder to save her to the point of self destruction.
Nico Di Angelo had always been different since his sister's death. More solidarity, more cold, more hardened.
So when Nico had told Percy just this past summer that he’d had feelings for the son of Poseidon, he’d been utterly shocked.
Nico didn’t talk about his feelings.
Ever.
But Percy was enjoying it, really. Nico was being a bit more open now. They were more comfortable with each other.
Percy, if he could be honest, was feeling more comfortable with Nico than anyone else on the planet right now.
After Annabeth had left him to join the hunters of Artemis, ending on a terrible note, he’d felt lonely.
And Nico had seen that. He’d seen Percy’s loneliness, sensed his sadness.
Somehow, Nico had cheered him up a great deal. And now Percy had a new best friend.
He had to remind himself from time to time not to get into Nico’s business, because while Nico was improving with being more talkative, he would get rather sensitive at times.
Like today.
It was late November, the chilly air making Percy’s nose kind of sniffly and cold. He made his way to cabin 13, the Hades cabin.
Nico’s cabin.
Usually at this time ( Percy checked his watch, 12:34 ) Nico would be either drawing or training.
Percy decided to check his cabin first, then check the training area if the son of Hades wasn’t there.
He rapped on the door.
“What”? Nico demanded, his voice muffled behind the door.
“Hey, Neeks. It’s Percy, just coming to bring you to lunch”.
There was a loud sigh, the click of a lock unlocking, and the door swung open.
Nico was looking considerably healthier then when he was on the Argo ll. His hair is less greasy and more fluffy. Less prominent eye bags. Less pale skin. A healthy shine in his eyes. His body is more muscular.
“Fine. But you really have to stop eating at my table” Nico said, huffing a strand of his dark hair out of his eyes.
Percy pouted. “Why”? He asked as he and Nico started towards the dining pavilion. “I told Chiron it was for very important purposes. He’ll understand”.
Nico rolled his eyes. “Chiron’s not dumb, Percy. He’s not going to believe in said “important purposes” for long”, Nico said, making air quotes with his fingers.
Percy pouted again but didn’t argue.
As they reached the pavilion, Nico beelined towards his table, shooing Percy away to his own.
Percy followed anyway with a cocky smirk.
Nico glared daggers back, but quickly looked away.
Chiron sat with Mr.D, chatting about something and laughing periodically.
Percy was sure he wouldn’t notice if he sat at Nico’s table again.
Nico already had his meal laid out in front of him, a McDonalds cheeseburger with broccoli at the side, root beer shimmering in his goblet.
Nico gave him a death stare.
“What’d I say, Jackson”? He said coolly.
“You said to not sit at your spot with you. But do I seem like a rule follower to you”? He replied with a shrug, sitting down across from the son of Hades.
“You seem like a teacher's pet to me. So yes”, Nico said, popping a piece of broccoli into his mouth, chewing thoroughly before swallowing with a grimace.
“Hey, no fair,” Percy said with a scowl of his own. He summoned a ham and cheese sandwich to his plate, along with a salad, and of course, a goblet full of blue coke.
They sat in silence while eating. Not the kind of awkward silence where you feel like you have to say something or the world will implode.
A kind of comfortable silence.
“Hey, Nico! Your wounds are healing well”?
Percy looked up to see Will Solace, son of Apollo. Head cabin counselor and head medic.
Nico shifted awkwardly in his seat. “Yeah, I guess”, he mumbled, chewing his lip.
Will beamed. “Great. I was worried about that”.
Will nodded at Percy with a smile, then turned on his heels and left.
Percy raised an eyebrow at Nico questioningly.
“What wounds? Are you ok”? Percy asked, tilting his head to the side.
Nico scoffed.
“Of course I’m ok. Will healed them. They don’t hurt anymore, and they’ve stopped itching”, he said, finishing his cheeseburger.
“That’s good… but why’d you act so weird? Did Will do something”? Percy prodded, trying to look Nico in the eyes, but Nico held his head low.
Until it snapped upwards.
“No, nothing happened. Why do you care anyway”? He hissed, narrowing his eyes.
Percy held his hands up in surrender.
“I’m just making sure you’re ok, Neeks. Sorry”.
Nico’s expression softened, eyes widening.
“Sorry, Percy, I… I don’t know where that came from”, he whispered, twisting his skull ring, “I… I gotta go. Catcha later”.
He pushed himself away from the table, slowly walking away, progressively moving faster until he was sprinting away.

Kirk at the Movies 🎬
So my last post about going to see Barbie and not knowing what snacks to take had me thinking about what Kirk's like at the cinema...
You didn't ask but I will provide anyway.
Alone (80s)
Definitely researching everything about the movie beforehand, incl related to his viewing experience, such as runtime, inquiring as to how booked his preferred screening is and holding off until it's the ideal audience size, knowing in his head when the busiest/kid-heavy showings are, etc.
Will bring snacks and will bring the same snacks every time.
Throwing daggers at ppl who won't be quiet but not being brave enough to tell them himself.
Member card holder.
With friends (any age)
I feel like he wouldn't go and watch a film with the band bc he has his horror friends for outings like this.
Absolutely going somewhere for food afterwards just to fanboy over every detail.
Probably has a joint membership thing so they all get Tuesday afternoons half price or something lol.
With a date (80s/90s)
Def wants to show off his horror taste and hope she'll be into it too so he can share how much he knows about it. If she is, it quickly devolves into excited info dumping bc he loves it so much and he latches on to anyone who gives him interested vibes.
Also thinks he's slick bc with horror he can almost always use the arm round the shoulder "don't be scared, I've got you" move.

I spent awhile looking around tumblr and other discords and there's a shocking lack of community that creates Percy/Nico fanwork? I couldn't find any events running.
And honestly, that's pretty tragic considering that this ship is 3/4ths canon (Nico loves Percy, and Percy considers Nico a close friend he's looks out for, protects and has jokes with). Not to mention, they're literally co-parenting a dog together?
Anyways, I wanted to get a sense if people would be interested in an event running for the week of Nico's birthday (Jan 28th, 2024 - Feb 3, 2024). So vote! sidenote: i think i first started reading ur fics around 400 or so on ao3, and i can't decide if im more in love with your nicery works or malace works. your fixed abo dynamics are also amazing.
I'm afraid the actual thing I use as reference when writing PJO fics isn't available for you, because it's an Exel spreadsheet that I've gathered over years that includes 710 gods and mythological figures, with columns dedicated to Greek name, Roman name, Etruscan name, realm, father, mother, consort, classification, so it can be sorted by all these aspects. Plus, it's color-coded.
I started making this out of the same frustration you're currently experiencing, because googling "god of x" grows annoying at one point, so I wanted a source where I can look up godly realms specifically, or sort them to see all children of god x.
I've collected the information on that list from... many sources, over many years, but the main sources I used were theoi.com (which is in my opinion the best site for the Greek pantheon; it lists sources, epithets, all possible parentages and offsprings, as well as passages from said sources), godchecker.com (which is a bit of a goofy site compared, but it has a nice overview for each god), as well as various wikipedia lists like this (wikipedia has specific pages dedicated to lists of gods of one specific realm, which is a great thing to look at when you're actually only looking for gods of x).

ᒥ🐙ᒧ— There Edward sat on the steps of the Revenge, staring out onto the main deck. His face was knit in a crinkled frown, a look of pensive thought. Under him his right leg bounced nervously, the soft tapping of his boot heel against the wood the only sound coming from the man.
If he were to think any harder, surely steam would start coming out his ears. "Not a Fuckery...." He mumbles to himself, "But a...Nicery?" He sighs and rubs at his forehead after hearing the thought out loud. Whatever he was thinking of was lead to him growing visibly frustrated.
He considered himself a problem-solver, so for something to leave him stumped meant it had to be something quite difficult...Right?
