Replaying pokemon conquest is just a reminder of how weird I thought some of the lines the characters dropped were
And I DO still think they’re weird. Not weird ‘ugh’ just weird ‘lol how outlandish’. It’s just that now I understand exactly what ‘fire emblem but pokemon’ means
I’m curious about how some of the features present in both games but absent in Conquest would have been handled had they been put in

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐗 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐙𝐄𝐍 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄
welcome back, it’s y’all’s favorite sirengodmother 🕺🏾so as y’all can see by the title we’re gonna be talking about the power of knowing x brazen impudence along with what it is and how it helps. so buckle up and enjoy the ride 👍🏾🤝🏾
know /nō/ verb
be aware of through observation, inquiry, or information.
ac·cept /əkˈsept/ verb
believe or come to recognize (an opinion, explanation, etc.) as valid or correct or to receive something willingly.
now there’s a method to my madness🧍🏾‍♀️knowing and accepting go hand in hand. you know the sky is blue because that’s what you’ve been told ever since you’ve been here. it’s what you’ve consciously and subconsciously accepted as fact. you know that after it rains you’re most likely to see a rainbow because you’ve accepted that as a fact.
“Just as the moth in his desire to know the flame was willing to destroy himself, so must you in becoming a new person be willing to die to your present self.” uhhhhhh HELLLOOOOO🗣️😮‍💨
in order to truly know and accept your desires you must defy your current beliefs and let go of your old self
“ok so siren you’re talking all this nonsense about knowing and accepting but saying how we’re supposed to do it 🫠”
ask and you shall receive 🕺🏾
live in the end (ik y’all are tired of me saying this but😂LIVE IN THE MF END). embody and become the person who has what you want. think their thoughts, talk how they talk, walk how they walk, he’ll eat what they eat✋🏾. even if it’s just for a few minutes a day, do it until it becomes natural and persist until it becomes reality.
next is saturation something that everyone seems to be against🙃. let’s face it a lot of us have/had deep ass limiting beliefs and can’t simply just accept that our desires are ours. and that’s ok that is why repetition/saturation came to save the day. again an assumption is something that is presented as false but when persisted in hardens into fact. ask if you need to saturate your mind go for it, don’t let anyone tell you that it’s pointless or doesn’t work
go into your beautiful human imagination and give yourself everything you desire and when I say imagine I’m not talking about visualizing. there seems to be a misconception that imagination and visualization are one in the same when in reality visualizing is just another tool or form to help you imagine.
to imagine is to believe (something unreal or untrue) to exist or be so or assume in other words.
when you give your desires to yourself in imagination the feeling of acceptance and wish fulfilled will wash over you and then guess what happens ?
if you guess that this is the part where we talk about brazen impudence then you are correct🕺🏾🤭
now what is brazen impudence ? well hate to break it to you but it’s really just another fancy word for persistence🧍🏾‍♀️. when you have brazen impudence you know for an absolute undeniable fact that you’re desires are yours and both hell and high waters cannot stop nor separate you from your desires. you are undeniably convinced that your desires are yours (which they are) and nothing can deter you from that fact. you are confident in your power and your ability as God as the creator of your reality that you can have whatever you wish for.
now I don’t want y’all to think I’m saying that it’s required to know and accept your desires as fact in order to manifest because I’m not 👍🏾 you can not believe your affirmations or believe the fact that what you’re scripting/visualizing will come true. it’s the persistence in the new story that makes your manifestations your reality.
anddddddd that’s all you lovely folks for todays lesson😂

During the Jujutsu Yayoi period around 2000 years ago, a celestial event occurred—a moon that appeared once every six hundred and sixty-six days. This was known as the “死 (shi) moon,” a foreboding omen associated with death. This blood-red moon would dominate nearly half of the night sky, casting an eerie glow. It was under this ominous moon that a human child named Akuryo was born, her mother passing away during childbirth.
Akuryo blossomed into an exceptionally beautiful woman with a rich brown complexion, but her life was marred by the oppressive demands of her authoritarian and alcoholic father, Kaito nō Yurei. She was relegated to the role of caretaker in the household, burdened with ceaseless chores of cleaning, tending crops, and cooking. Meanwhile, her father incessantly belittled her, labeling her as worthless and a disgrace. He even expressed a desire to end her life to alleviate the disgust he felt whenever he laid eyes on her. Kaito despised his daughter with an unruly passion, it haunted her soul for days. She could practically inhale the amount of hatred he had for her, it was far too intense.
Her older brother, Ryojin nō Yurei, the sorcerer of the family, could do nothing but watch or else he too would be subjected to the same treatment, the same resentment. Nineteen more occurrences of the “死” moon passed before a powerful spirit began to stir within her, and within just a year, that formidable spirit had fully embodied her. With jet-black hair flowing down her back, adorned with delicate pink streaks at the tips, she stood tall and resolute. In a swift motion, her hand moved to sever her father's head from his body.
Her hands bore the stain of her father's blood, and soon after, the blood of her entire village. The intricate designs of her old kimono were obscured by the crimson hue, overshadowed by the presence of the cursed spirit, Akuryo. She confronted the sole survivor, Ryojin. Amidst them crackled an untamed surge of cursed energy, a foreboding sign of impending danger. He knew he should have fled, racing to warn neighboring villages of the impending tragedy.
But he didn't.
As Akuryo strode past him, her intent clear—to bring death upon the other villages—he hesitated only briefly before following in her footsteps.

Te Hōkioi, and Speculation on the Dietary Habits of the Great Eagles
He Hōkioi, i runga, he Hōkioi, i runga, hū.
(The great eagle, from above, made a booming call)
Kei te āputa koe, nā, o te rangi, e noho ana,
(In the open space, there, in the sky, it dwells)
Te hoa moenga, nō whatitiri mātakataka;
(Death's companion, with crashing thunder)
Hei aha, tērā, e tararua mārire, ona hikumaro?
(Why, then, do its tail feathers no longer split the quiet in two?)
Rua maro tonu, ona hakikau;
(Two fathoms wide, its wings;)
E huhū nei, i runga te rangi,
(It called, above in the sky)
Hōkioi, Hōkioi.
(The sound: hōkioi, hōkioi.)
- poem/chant by the great Ngāti Toa chief Te Rauparaha
For @tolkienofcolourweek, I'm spending seven days bringing Māoritanga and mātauranga Māori to the world of Tolkien! Starting off on day 1 with: what did Manwë's Eagles eat?
Such massive animals, especially flying ones, would have required a huge caloric intake. We have little evidence about what potential prey may have existed in Beleriand and Middle Earth. The Hobbit mentions them eating sheep, and it seems likely that they would hunt other large animals, such as deer or bison. But there's nothing in our modern world that compares to or fills an ecological niche like Manwë's Eagles.
This is where I draw on Māori oral history of the largest eagles to ever live.
In English they're called Haast's Eagles, but in Māori there are several names. Probably the most well-known of the Māori names is pouakai/poukai, but my people called them hōkioi.
They were massive, weighing as much as 17.8 kg (about 39 lbs) and with wingspans as large as 3 metres (about 10ft). Their feet and claws were the size of modern day tigers, capable of punching through bone. They hunted prey more than fifteen times their own size.
(Granted, the eagles of Manwë are much larger than even the hōkioi! Still, it's similar enough for me to draw inspiration.)

[Left image: an artist's rendition of a hōkioi perched on a rock. Right image: an artist's rendition of a hōkioi attacking the neck of a giant flightless bird.]
The hōkioi's primary prey was the moa, large flightless birds similar to ostriches or emus. With no large land mammals on the islands, hōkioi were the apex predators.
Then, circa 900 CE, large mammals came to Aotearoa for the first time. They also preyed on moa, reducing the hōkioi's food supply. So perhaps it was natural that the hōkioi began to hunt these mammals as new prey.
Unfortunately, those mammals were us.

Our stories of the hōkioi, or pouakai, tell of giant birds that could swoop down from the sky to kill and eat even strong warriors. They were also known to carry off small children.
I'm not saying that the eagles of Manwë ate elves or humans. (I think they were probably given firm instructions not to!) It would make sense for them to prey on orcs and other creatures of Morgoth, though. And there's one other group who we know were hunted like animals in Beleriand, due to... misunderstandings. A group who the Eagles may not have initially recognized as sentient creatures. A group who would have been an ideal size to pick up and carry off as a snack.
I'm just saying, I think there may have been multiple reasons that dwarves chose to live underground.

Why can't we go a few months without someone deciding to cause ridiculous amounts of trouble? I expected more from Beelzebub at this point, but I suppose zey're bored.
I swear, every few months, someone else wants to rule heaven. What will it accomplish? What are you trying to achieve? Good luck, trying to get to God as well. I'm not sure how you plan on finding/trapping God. They're ineffable.
I'm not defending Her, but we can't even build whales. That's the least we need to be capable of!
Anyway, I won't interfere unless you force my hand.
So don't.

Missing studying in coffeeshops between lectures
17.01.2024 | Theatre Histories, Lear, Godot
I have to study all of my course material today, except Antigone and A Doll's House.
Focussing on Godot, Sanskrit theatre and Japanese Nō theatre mostly. The schedule is a bit tight, but I should be able to finish everything.
📖: The Field of Drama - Martin Esslin
Very interesting book on the intersection between different dramatic arts, if you're interested in cinema or theatre I'd definitely recommend it!

It’s all the same, that worthless dependence
Under
That need for warmth that lowers your defenses
Useless now, and useless then
You're so damn full of it, you're full of it, the worst and

It still won't change, the queen will play her own game

We stay the same, yet stealing for our own gain
Useless now, and useless then
And yet you love them and you're trying to make amends
So weigh the scales in your brain
Show me who’s wrong and take aim
That's why I swore that I would always have your back
Be the fanged hero on the attack
Fixed the problems that you couldn't fix
So why then, oh, why then did it come to this?
Don't stop me! Leave me be!
I need a reason to dish justice, can’t you see?
Inform me and warm me
Give me the solemn purpose I need

Hiding from light, greedy, in spite of your conscience
But in the night, praying the righteous can imprint
Useless now, and useless then
Do you remember what you’re doing this for, instead

Can't you hate evil for what it is?
Can’t you make the choice to not forgive?

Inform me and warm me
Give me the solemn purpose I need

*Kyōgen (狂言) is a traditional comic Japanese theatrical form that is usually performed in between Nō plays. In Cat, the word kyōgen (狂言) is used to refer to the theatrical form, whereas in Deep Cover, the word used is kyogen (虚言), meaning liar.
