Sacrifice (part 2)

a/n~ i might write an alternative ending as well🤭

pt. 1

The place Wanda had taken you was strange. It was a dark cabin in the middle of a forest.

“Wands? Where are we?” You whispered. Eyes staring at anything and everything. "Why is it all so dark?"

"Inside. You have questions to answer." Wanda ordered. There wasn't a trace of softness in her tone. And you couldn't blame her.

She watched you die for the world, and yet, here you now stand. Alive and well. Except she knows there's something.

So you obeyed. You walked in first. Being pushed to the couch. Where you sat in the middle and she stood across from you. Her eyes staring into you trying to breach your mind.

"Why are you still blocking me?" She furrowed her brows. Watching as your head turned to look away. "Y/n?"

"What I'm going to tell you...you can't just look into my head for it. Strange knows and he didn't want anyone else but Wong to know. This is something that you need context for." You were quiet. It was a topic you knew she needed to know.

"Are you even my Y/n?" Wanda spat without thinking. Your head snapped to look her in the eyes. The emeralds you fell in love with from the first day. There was something about the way you looked at her. It was like she could tell that it was the Y/n she also fell in love with. "What's your secret?"

"Ok...so you know how you're the most powerful magic wielder or whatever?" She nodded her head. "Ok, well in the book, after your page, it's your 'assistance'. They're not even close to being as powerful, but they follow you everywhere."

"That doesn't explain how you're alive." She glared. Wanda still was skeptical of you.

You hummed, only letting a silence fill the room. "I'm not from your universe." You finally said.

It wasn't what Wanda was expecting. "W..what?"

"I am not from here." You said again, nerves taking over you.

Wanda frowned, "Then...who did I watch die and fall in love with?"

"The Y/n from this universe was the one you watched die. But it's always been me you feel in love with. The short story, I met someone just like America. I made a deal with them. They take the Y/n from here with them and I stay. But when Thanos came, the other Y/n heard. And told me we could switch places after they failed their, well, my universe. So we did. I watched from afar on the whole scene." You storied.

"And Strange? How'd he find you before me?" Wanda asked softer. "Do you know what pain you caused me? The things I went through because of you?"

"I'm sorry...I was going to come find you. I went to the funeral and everything, I wanted to pull you away and tell you it's all ok. But Strange...he got to me before you. I had to watch everything from a distance. Westview. The way you gave up everything. And all I could do was watch. Then America came." Your voice was soft and calming to her.

You could see the want to cry on her. That she was so close to breaking down right there. So you stood, moving around the coffee table to comfort her.

Carefully, you wrapped your arms around her. Feeling her body tense. "We can have our happy ending now...just us...Tommy and Billy...but you can't go after America."

"How...how can I trust you after that big of a lie?" Her voice was shaking. "Watching you die kept me awake for nights on end."

"I'll do whatever I have to do to regain your love and trust. I promise I'm not going anywhere anytime ever again. I'm here for you, witchy." You reassured. Hearing her soft sniffle to the nickname.

"You know I hate that name." She pulled back to see your face. Grabbing it with both her hands and your held her wrist.

She pulled your head closer, hesitantly giving you the well overdue kiss. Easily melting into the feeling of you.

You had finally confessed. You could finally live again. And best of all.

You had Wanda.

Still trying to navigate this site, so sorry for the janky formatting. This is a post about my Re-write Defender Strange! He is much more integral to the plot, and accompanies Wong for the most part. He serves as an ally against Wanda and also as a window into the way Stephen Strange works, for us the audience as well as for Wong

Some of these concepts are outdated because I didn’t officially start making my re-write until after I compiled a bunch of disconnected ideas and headcanons, so some of them are very old and irrelevant but I still like them so I’ve attached them anywho. I have his backstory filled out now, but it isn’t fully fleshed out yet, so I’ll instead write about the changes to his character and involvement in the re-write in chronological order. I’ll upload his backstory later on hopefully! Here we go!

He is Sorcerer Supreme of his universe (617) because the blip never happened, and therefor the title never got passed onto anyone else. This means he’s also five years older than our MCU 616 Stephen.

He is very independent as Sorcerer Supreme, where MCU 616 Wong is very connected to Kamar-Taj, Defender is not. He operates from his Sanctum and has Defender Wong as his only real constant ally.

He has a guinea pig called Patchwork Quilt, and she is his pride and joy.

Cyttorak (I assume is it’s name?) is not controlled by Wanda, and instead is just a creature from a different dimension that he managed to piss off. America is also with him, having taken refuge in universe 617 after she fell into it.

Defender gets very badly wounded by Cyttorak, and with no other choice he decides to sacrifice America and absorb her power in hopes that he could control it and banish the creature before it did anymore harm. This causes America to panic.

At the same time that this is occurring, Wanda (616) is trying to dream walk. As a result of the many many multiversal tamperings 616 has been up to (Endgame, Loki, NWH etc etc) mixed with Wanda’s dreamwalking and America’s uncontrollable power going haywire, the Multiversal barrier between 616 and 617 rips open, and Defender, America and Cyttorak fall through into 616.

Cyttorak has a sort of venom or corrosive quality to its tendrils which has begun to infect Defender. Due to his title of supremacy in universe 617 his body could use magic to subconsciously fight off this venom, much like he can with any other disease or illness. Unfortunately, now that he’s in 616, a place where the magic is slightly different and Wong is the Sorcerer Supreme, he doesn’t have this healing factor. If he has any hopes of surviving he needed to get back to 617.

After Stephen and America vanish into the multiverse Defender assists Wong in tracking down Wanda after Kamar-Taj falls, despite his injuries. Wong learns a lot about the way Stephen functions through Defender, and Defender learns a lot about himself through Wong’s perspective on Stephen. Defender also helps Wong with his insecurities and feelings of unworthiness as Sorcerer supreme, giving him advice and encouragement as a fellow man of supremacy.

Stephen (who is in sinister’s universe) uses Defender’s body to dreamwalk and communicate to Wong. He manages to tell him Wanda has America and that he needed to save her before the souls of the damned interfere and Defender’s body goes unconscious.

In the end Defender saves Stephen from the souls by sacrificing his soul, and thus gaining control over them. This allowed Stephen to take control over the body, and fight Wanda while Defender controlled the souls as wings/cloak/sheild.

Defender wants to right the wrong he made in trying to take America’s power and is the first to realize she’s the key to defeating Wanda. He sacrifices his life to save America.

Defender passes away after Stephen stops dream walking, as his soul and physical body were too weak to continue functioning. He passes his supremacy to Defender Wong (who was summoned into the final battle by America) and he takes his body back to 617 to be prepared for the funeral and following ceremony. All the parts of the plot are not concrete yet, as I’ve only written out the second draft, but this is what I have so far regarding Defender! It is still very condensed and brief, but I hope it gives y’all a bit of a glimpse into his character. I’ll be uploading concepts of all the other Variants and characters involved in the story and how they interact and add to the plot. Summary | being blipped is not fun, but what happens when you return 5 years later and Wanda’s gone off the rails and you and her meet again in her fight to steal Americas power.

MoM events, infinity war events - not in order! ~Wanda doesn’t get blipped and the order of events is non existent but just go with it for the plot please!!

You’d disappeared in the blip along with many heroes such as: Peter Parker, King T’challa and Scot Lang. You were an avenger to an extent but had very little impact on missions but nonetheless, you were classed as an avenger. So when the blip happened you weren’t missed by many, your disappearance hadn’t had a big affect on people or the world for that matter. Apart from one witch, Wanda Maximoff.

She’d watched Vision be slaughtered by Thanos and disintegrate by the blip but then to see you, her closest friend, standing in the middle of the clearing fading away. That was hard. Her love: vision and you: her 1st true love (unknown to her) to be taken away from her at exactly the same time, not a minute or second after the first. Another level of difficulty.

At first she’d mourned you both, visiting the memorial sight and searching for your names until she knew their location on the plaques off by heart. Eventually though, she stopped grieving for vision, but for you, never. She’d expected that she would be able to move on quickly after coming to terms with Visions death and thought the same for yours, but she never did.

In the back of her mind she’d always subconsciously thought of you. Simple things such as; walking past a new coffee shop in her neighbourhood and thinking that you’d like it and that she should take you there, but she couldn’t because you were gone and you always would be. Right?

Wrong. After five years the majority of people who were victims of the blip returned, you being one of them.

You’d returned back in the same spot which you’d left in, confused as to where everyone else was. You’d made your way back to the compound to find out that Nat was gone and so was Tony but you hadn’t had time to cry about it because Bruce Banner had informed you that your witchy friend Wanda had gone off the rails.

Bruce had sat you down in an unused room and told you how Wanda had gone crazy: Westview, chasing after a young girl for her powers so she could be with her children, and you. He’d spoken about how after the blip she realised that you’d meant more to her than just a friend and that’s how she spiralled out of control quickly. Getting ahold of the dark hold so she could shift universes, one where you and her were together and her children were also yours. A happy family.

You’d travelled to Kamar - Taj to help protect the young girl who’s name you’d learnt was ‘America’. A dark cloud rolled over the sky, covering the sun, most light disappearing from the day.

Strange and Wong had sent you and America inside the temple to increase the amount of protection, but soon it was breached and Wanda was inside the same room as you. She hadn’t noticed you at first, too focused on getting the girl and draining her off all her powers. It was only when you approached her whilst her magic choked America and took her powers, that she finally noticed you.

Her magic had faltered, allowing America unknowingly to open a portal into another universe, Strange diving into her to push them both through it to get away from Wanda.

Wanda had fallen to her knees in-front of you, as the girls portal closed, tears seeping from her eyes. She’d thought you were dead all this time, especially since you hadn’t come back when others did. She was sure of it.

You’d walked slowly up to her and knelt beside her, hugging her for the first time in over 5 years. “You can’t do this, this isn’t right.” You’d whispered to her as she hugged you tightly, momentarily forgetting about America and Doctor Stranger.

“I have to protect my boys.” She’d replied and pushed you away from her body to take a look at your face. She’d raised a hand to your cheek and held you face in her hands “who will protect them if i, their mother, aren’t there?” She’d asked you.

You’d sat in silence before speaking up again, trying to convince her to stop chasing after the poor girl who didn’t even have control of her powers. “You aren’t the only Wanda right?” She’d nodded at you and you took her hands into your own, deciding to go for your last resort.

“So if you go to your boys in another universe, then you’ll have to somehow get rid of the Wanda in that universe and you’ll also be leaving me, when I’ve only just got back!” You’d smiled shyly at as she looked up into the ceiling, you could see the cogs turning in her head.

“But what about my boys? Billy and Tommy? I’ll never see them again, I’m afraid I can’t let that happen.” She’d told you as she’d given you a tight lipped smile and lay a kiss on you forehead, moving her hands up to your collarbones, rubbing them soothingly as she spoke again. “You can come with me. You know I’ll win anyway, I always do.” She’d given you a teasing smile and a wink, stood from you and turned away, closing her eyes to what you had assumed to create a gateway into the universe of which America and Strange had escaped to.

Wrong, again. She’d dream walked into the alternate universe and you’d watched as her face twitched as she sat cross legged, levitating off of the ground in a circle of candles and runes.

You’d also watched as a dear friend of Wongs destroyed the dark hold, turning to ash in the process, Wanda falling to the ground as a result. You’d ran over to her, hands flying to her waist to help her up, watching as her eyes glowed a fiery red from anger and from the placement of your hands.

You’d also watched as she tortured Wongs students to get information on the dark hold and stolen their rings to open up portals.

However before she and Wong were to walk through the portal she’d reached out her hand to you, asking you to join her. You’d looked around you at the destruction which she’d caused and then back to her. You’d reached forward to her and grasped onto her hand and she smiled at you as she pulled you and Wong through the portal.

If you were to choose a side to be on after the avengers had collapsed, what better side to be on than with your ‘best friend’.

You’d always stayed by her side, and that’s how you stayed even when the Darkhold castle collapsed around you as you held each-other.

It’s been a little while but who cares!!

The thing is...

The fact that all they took from Wandavision was "Wanda has the darkhold now" and "Wanda had children that she lost" and is all that mattered. Nothing about her is important anymore, sure Vision was mentioned but anything else is "my children this, my children that"

And is a recurring theme that when female characters become mothers, it turns into their one definying personality trait.

My point it that Wanda´s other relationships are nowhere to be seen

-Clint? No mention

-She has no reaction to killing Maria, the mother (well.alt) of the woman who almost died to protect Wanda´s children. I am surprised by the lack of mention of Monica, given that there is WV and Maria in the movie

-Also has no reaction to Captain Carter, despite Wanda´s previous friendship with Steve, who was kind of her mentor.

Like, The scarlett witch is quite the flat character. Althought i can't say anyone in this movie got some good writing

Stephen Strange has cause an incursion, but before they can fix it, Clea lets Stephen know that Wanda is alive. Stephen wants to make up to her, in order to do that he needs to save her. As Wanda comes with terms of her actions, it up to the sorcerers to prevent the incursion and in the process Stephen and Wanda realize..... they are not so different after all.
