Congratulations to lisa frankenstein for being the first movie with a sex scene that had me fully comfortable AND rooting for the characters. idk I feel like most sex scenes are born of the conception that it’s just the “natural progression of relationships.” or as attention grabbers. but it represented more than sexual attraction for lisa and the creature. it had narrative weight. it was an act of radical self-acceptance — the decision to embrace their otherness in a world that shunned them for it. not to mention of course I’m a sucker for the stylized animation.

It's been a generous 14 months since he's seen this movie but with how its written here it sounds like he's talking about an instance when he was a kid. or at least... younger than however old he was just over a year ago.

Either Pete is on the younger side of his teenage years or he's very sensitive to 'horror'/disturbing scenes, or both. I'd get it if he's sensitive to that stuff cause who knows what heinous shit he's seen but damn does that make me feel really awful for him.
