Do you ever think about the fact that Kix literally had a breakdown on the battlefield during Umbara (aka when Tup had to get him to stop shooting) because he couldn't cope with the death and having to leave people behind because at his core he's a healer and just full of so much love for his brothers and then instead of resting in their mini break, he's helping his friends with mutiny and treason because it's a chance for him to do something else to help other than comforting the dying when so many have been lost or are you normal

Dumbass (Fives x Reader)

Because Fives is def a dumbass. This is really short. Like me.

Warnings: medbay, mention of mild injury, Hardcase is a warning. What the hell Fives might as well be a warning too.

“Kix, I swear to the maker somebody better be dying at this hour.” You groaned, slapping the button on your comm and blinking the sleep from your eyes.

“Fives-“

You jumped up, already headed for the door. “Had better not be dying.” You cut him off.

Kix laughed. “Just a mild injury. He’s asking for you though. I’ll let him and the boys explain what happened.”

“I’m on my way.”

When you eventually got up to the medbay, you saw Fives seated on one of the beds, surrounded by Echo, Kix and Hardcase. A med patch was adhered to his forehead right next to his tattoo.

“Fives, Dear, what the hell did you do? You sighed, resting your hands on either side of where he sat on the bed.

“Well, uh, Mesh’la.” He stammered with a blush and a shy smile. “Hardcase and I, sorta had a bet? And….I think I lost.”

You raised an eyebrow. “You did, huh? Wanna tell me what said bet was about?”

He blushed a little harder, out of embarrassment you assumed.

Echo spoke first.

“In my defense I told him not to do it.”

You turned to Hardcase with a questioning look. He snickered before falling into a fit of giggles.

“He said he could hang upside down on the bunk with just his feet. I told him no way.”

You rolled your eyes and turned to look at Fives. This man was going to be the death of you.

“Honey, you’re a dumbass.”

He leaned forward to nudge your nose with his. “I’m your dumbass though.”

You smirked. “I don’t know how much more of it I can take.”

“Well then. Guess I’ll have to come up with something good to keep you around.”

Before you had a chance to respond, he pulled you forward and gave you a kiss.

“I suppose that’ll work for now.” You smiled. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”

He smiled again. “I’m lucky I’ve got you.”

Making a separate post for this post:

From the top down, command clones handle the punishment and oversight necessary to maintain unit/battalion cohesion. Their authority means their praise and critiques weigh more in general than that coming from a lower ranked clone (doesn't mean that your buddy calling you a good soldier is totally useless, obviously).

They can mandate interventions and reconciliations, and they approve/deny transfer requests. Command clones are just as much a brother of the battalion as every other clone, but in the way that a parent is part of a family.

Command clones also lead many of the chants, marching, mourning, and victory songs clones sing before, during, and after battle. Morale starts with the commanders the same way (most) orders start with them.

In this sense, they're keepers of the culture and cohesion because they lead the battalions. There's a general (unspoken) guideline about the standard practices of a clone battalion, and each commander might have their own take on it. The ones who win a lot will sing more victory and march songs. Battalions focused more on relief might sing less mourning songs. Some might follow the commander's lead/lack thereof regarding interacting with civilians.

The medics take a fundamentally similar position to the commanders in regards to keepers of the culture. However, in many ways theirs is a more narrowly-focused, intimate series of interactions due to the nature of their job. Medics are the first witnesses of death, culturally. They can determine who lives or dies, and they have to do so with a keen sense of practicality and impartiality. They have to be level headed, fast, and efficient the same way a command clone must be.

But also, the medics are sworn to secrecy (another unspoken understanding of their job). They hear the ramblings of delirious, injured, semi-conscious, and sleep-walking clones. Troopers confess fears to their squads and then their medics, if need be. Even if a clone doesn't explicitly say what's bothering them, it can be inferred: jitteriness, seeking pain medication for long-healed injuries, seeking sleep aids, avoiding certain qusetions about certain injuries, etc.

So medics maintain cohesion on a more physical, but also more emotional level than command clones. Both roles are equally important! But they're different. Clones will go to their squadmates, their sergeants, and the medic before they resort to a command clone, who necessarily has to take a formal and more clinical (for lack of a better word) approach to conflict resolution since they need to keep everyone in line.

The Clones as Things Your Teachers Should Have Told You As A Child To Encourage You

We are all up in the feels of supporting your inner child this week. I'm noticing a pattern of being let down by some of the adults in our life so I am here to be your teacher/coach/parent/stranger/society encouragement right now. Plus I really, really just miss doing these.

Rex- "Seeing you guys is the best part of my day!"

Echo-"Your success in the classroom does not define who you really are"

Fives- "I see you."

Jesse- "You don't need college to be successful. A GED is just as good as a high school diploma. Vocational school is just as important and as good as going to a university. Whatever you choose to do with your future, you have my support and guidance."

Kix- "Of course I remember you!" (when you come back to visit, whether it be the next year or 10 years down the line)

Tup- "Even teachers have bad days. I'm sorry I was openly angry and snappy today. I will try to remember to leave my own personal problems at the door next time."

Dogma- "Honestly you aren't going to use this in life, but the state standards require I teach you it. So we are going to get through this as soon as possible" (look honesty is the best policy!)

Hardcase- "You have my full attention."

Coric- "I'm worried about you. Is everything ok?"

Bly- "Sometimes, the only thing holding you back is the attitude you have toward the proble. Its okay to circle back to it when you are feeling better about it"

99- "If you like the things and hobbies you have, other people’s opinion does not matter at all. All you know is that you are happy, and you live for who? Them or you?" (shoutout to my 5th grade teacher who made fun of me for liking star wars)

Cody- "I am sorry you don't trust me. What can I do as your teacher to make you more safe when in my classroom?"

Waxer/Boil- *Put a sticker on your graded paper just because*

Wolffe- "I apologize for grading you on this material and not realizing you were struggling. Would going over it together and redoing the test once you fully understand help? Would a different assignment in its place be okay if you aren't confident

Hunter- "If any of you need a quiet place to just take a moment by yourself, my office door is always open and my classroom is empty during these periods"

Wrecker-"Always be yourself because everyone else is taken."

Crosshair- "No matter how good you are at something, there's always someone else who can do it better." (some of us needed a little humbling lets be honestl)

Omega- "They’re missing out, because you’re a kid worth knowing." (in response to any exclusionary classmates or just isolation feelings)

Howzer- "Thank you for explaining your situation with me. I will try my best to accomodate you in the meantime"

Fox- "How are you today?"

Gregor- "You know what? I think we've had enough. No homework for the week."
