・A grumpy man on a good day, intolerable on a bad day and luckily for you, you met on one of his worst
・You labelled him as a jerk, and vowed never to go near him nor his cafe for the rest of your life
・But then your car broke down and he was the first person to drive past you.
"Need any help?"
"Yeah- oh. No, no I do not," you said to Luke and slammed your car door closed. Hautily crossing your arms over your chest and staring forward.
"Oh c'mon," he called out from his open window.
・This interaction solidified a new way of looking at Luke. You didn't hate him anymore ... no, quite the opposite. But you were damn sure he still hated you
・Heavy on the will-they-won't-they trope. It went on for four months before you both couldn't take it anymore.
・There was something pulling you towards him, like a constant ache and whenever you saw him, it was relieved. You knew you loved him two months after knowing him. And it hurt so much seeing him go out with anyone else.
・But god, by a goddamn Stars Hollow miracle, he saw you. Finally saw what you saw in him.
・Very,, very family orientated. You're in trouble? He's dropping everything to help you.
・You're sitting next to Luke on the couch watching tv and suddenly get a call saying one of your siblings needs help? Luke is already up and putting on his shoes.
・You can try and help him but he shoos you inside and says he's got this.
・Goes over and above for anything that you want.
・Will literally save up everyday until he reaches his money goal to take you to Disney Land because you told him one night you really wanted to go.
・Stubborn as all hell, thinks he knows best but you're the only person who can make him fold.
・When you first told him you loved him, he nearly got the air knocked out of him.
・He's incredibly touch-starved, and doesn't want you to know that (but of course you know that...)
・Despite the grumpy exterior, Luke has shown moments of being supportive and encouraging

Also, for the most part it's gender neutral but in the nsfw section there's female genitalia used for the reader.
I wasn't going to add this but ... I want to ... but for some reason thinking about Luke & smut makes me blush so hard so please forgive me for any mistakes or such :')
・You both stand mere centimetres apart. Your breaths mingling as the snow slowly falls around you.
・Standing outside his diner, you shivered as Luke's hand slowly moves around your waist and pulls you close
・Your lips melt into his, your hands gripping his jacket. Trying desperately to get closer to him. To press against him, to feel ... to feel anything of his body.
"Let's go upstairs," he mumbles against your lips, his hands roaming around your body.
・Your first time together was fast at first; ripping each other's clothes off. Trying to see each other's naked body and drink it all in.
・But once the clothes had been discarded, you both became very ... sensitive and vulnerable.
・So, it slowed down, and rough touches turned into gentle caresses.
・Luke couldn't stop staring at you, smelling you; he wanted to lose himself in you.
・You love riling him up; obviously not when people are around. But teasing him at home; rubbing his crotch innocently.
・Nibbling at his ear, giving his neck a kiss or two, and then walking away.
・Luke's reaction is always the same - nose flairing, hands curling into fists; he knows this game. He's just never good at playing it. He hates teasing. He'd rather just pin you down and jump your bones.
・But you love how much you can provoke him; it means he loves you that much that your touch drives him wild.
・Blow jobs are one of his favourite things; he never expects you to do it, and for a while he never let you service him. But now that he knows you enjoy it too...god his heart pounds whenever he thinks of it
・Loves pulling you to the edge of the bed, slipping down your pants/lifting your skirt and practically ripping your underwear from you. He holds your thighs apart and eats you like a starved man
・At first he doesn't like your sex toys; feeling inferior to them.
・But you showed him how they can be used in sex for heightened pleasure.
・You still haven't gotten Luke to a sex shop though. He has vowed never to stand a foot in that shop.

You were tiny compared to everyone else, you had been since high school where you would always be constantly teased. The one highlight though was having a somewhat protector, a boy older than you by the name of Luke Danes would always stand up for you and fight those who’d make you cry. The sad part was catching feelings for him and knowing he’d never return them.
So, a few years later. All grown up (but still ridiculously small), you head towards the diner. The only way to start your day was with one of Luke’s coffees, you just didn’t know how different the day would end. The little bell went off, signalling that you had entered, causing Luke to look in your direction. His eyes brush over you before turning back to a customer, until his head whips around and he glares at your shirt. You give him a soft smile before practically skipping over to one of the free stools, pouting slightly as it feels as though you must climb it just to sit on it.
After Luke is done with the customer, he storms over and behind the counter before leaning over, his face nearly touching yours as he growls and glares. “What do you think you’re doing walking out in public wearing a shirt like that?!”
You frown, not understanding what he’s talking about until you look down and realise the shirt you had thrown on. There you sit, wearing a small denim skirt and a tight pink shirt that reads ‘I bet she bangs like a fairy on acid.’ You look back up at Luke and pout, “I didn’t mean to… This was the only clean shirt I could find, a–and…” You huff, wondering why you felt the need to explain yourself to him, you were a grown woman but the way he towered over you caused all your brain cells to fly out the window. Your arms cross over your chest, “I don’t need to explain myself to you. You aren’t my father!”
Luke rolls his eyes before walking around the counter and practically lifting you from your seat, his beefy tanned arms bulging slightly as he carries you past the curtain and up the stairs to his apartment. “No, I’m not your father, but I’m sure as hell not going to let you walk around dressed like a slut.” You gape at him, wondering why you could feel yourself clench around nothing, tingles set aflame on your puffy clit. He places you down gently after you both enter his place, before walking over to his closet and pulling out one of his flannel shirts. “You are going to put this on, and I don’t want to hear a peep from you about it, understood?” His glare causes your thighs to squeeze together, and you know he’s noticed it.
You squeak as you back into the door, Luke slowly making his way over to you. Each step, each thud his footsteps make cause your pussy to clench, slick gathering between your thighs. He looks like a predator, and you are his prey. “Are you seriously getting turned on by this?” You let out a whimper, lashes batting up at him as he towers over you again. His hand grips your jaw gently, making sure all your attention is on him and unknowingly causing your knees to buckle. “I knew you were a little slut ever since I stood up for you. You couldn’t hide the way you felt.” He leans closer. “You want to know how I know?”
You whine, nodding and looking up at him with hooded eyes. “Because I walked in on you during the game, you thought everyone was too busy watching, but I had taken a short break. Imagine my surprise when I hear your soft little whimpers, and an even bigger one. You kept calling out my name, while you gripped one of my shirts and humped your pretty little hand.” You gasp when you feel him pressed himself against you, your eyes widening when you imagine how you are possibly supposed to take him. You squeal when you are suddenly lifted from the ground, flung like a ragdoll onto the bed, too dazed to notice him crawling on top of you.
“Are you going to be a good little girl for me?” His bulge rubs against you while his hand moves up to grip your chin. You blink, his words sound as though they are underwater because all you can focus on is the tingles running throughout your body and how pretty his eyes look. You feel yourself clench as he slaps your cheek softly, repeating himself causing you to nod. A dumb look accompanying your face.
Everything moves so fast, or it could’ve happened slow… You didn’t know, everything felt good and fuzzy. One second you had clothes on and the next you were completely naked in front of your crush, your mind was exploding. Luke groans, gripping the base of his cock and rubbing the tip through your folds. “You’re so wet already, baby. You think you can take me?” You nod, need erupts throughout your body as your dream is finally coming true.
“P–please, Luke.” You whine, wiggling your hips as you try and press yourself closer to him. Your walls becoming slicker at the sheer size you feel against you. “I’ll be good!” Your eyes roll into the back of your head, back arching off the bed as Luke slowly pushes in. Groans fall from his lips as he thrusts through your tight hole, your walls gripping him and pulling him deeper.
“Holy fuck…” His eyes rest upon your stomach, noticing how your stomach bulges from how deep he is. “You’re doing so good, baby. You’re such a good girl.” His hands grip your hips as he begins to thrust hard and fast, splitting you open and fucking you dumb. “My good girl. So good you’ll wobble back down to the diner with my cum dripping down your legs.” He growls, lying flat against you as his hips frantically move.
“U–uhhh, mmm.” You try to speak but can’t. Your mind feels a thousand miles away and the only thing you can think about is how good Luke feels thrusting in and out of you. You can feel the veins on his cock throb with each movement, his thick tip pounding into your sweet spot. Your hands fly up and grip onto him, burying your face into his neck as you feel your orgasm approaching embarrassingly fast.
“You going to cum, little baby?” His thick voice rumbles throughout your body, sending shivers directly to your core causing you to clench around him. “Fuck. Be a good girl and cum for me.” Your eyes disappear as he fucks into you, causing your orgasm to rip out of you, covering him. Luke groans, his head rolling back as his cock throbs and twitches, balls tightening before he releases deep inside of you, thick ropes of cum covering your tiny walls until he softens. He moves slowly, making sure not to harm you as he pulls out and receives a cloth that he uses to clean you with. “You, okay?”
You hum, eyes slipping closed as your body tingles. Luke smiles as he watches you before lying next to you. Screw the diner, Caesar can take care of it for now.

“What the hell” Luke muttered rolling into your driveway with the turn of his steering wheel the tail of his truck following behind him as he squinted at the sight of you on the top of your roof artificial spider webs hanging from the pillars of your porch small plastic spiders peaking through the white web
The brunette didn’t rush out of the car until he began to watch your unsafe attempt of getting down from the top of your home aka with out a latter
“Hey! You’re killing me smalls!” You smiled down at him having got back to the surface of the roof of your home at the sound of his scolding voice that held no room for argument
“If i was waiting for my knight in shining armor to come rescue me then i declared i am no damsel in distress i shall save myself” You mocked in a posh gilded voice while Luke rolled his eyes in in response seeming over your act
“If you don’t come down right now I’m leaving you to the hocks” You gasped at the statement a hand over your heart and the brunette practically over the whole situation at hand
“You would never” You sat down your legs dangling over the ledge of the roof your arms crossed and a small mock pout on your face if you searched up ‘4 year old in time out’ Luke was sure your picture would pop up front and center
“Listen here you, if I have to come up there” You giggled at the stern finger that was pointed towards you garnished with stern ice blue eyes you hummed in response twirling a loose thread on your sweater your eyes tilted towards the sky ‘contemplating’ your decision
“God woman are you crazy!?” The brunette hissed as you slid from the roof barely able to catch you in time your frame secure against his flannel covered chest sitting you down on the ground giving you a few extra seconds to make sure you were settled
“Oh please dear lord, will you be ever so kind to help me hang the decor around the the castle” You spoke while Luke’s eyebrows furrowed at the borderline terrible accent shaking his head in disbelief or disgust you couldn’t quite tell
“Get in the house and bring me the boxes” the brunette grumbled and you giddily skipped your way up the porch into you home searching for Halloween decorations
💌💌💌💌
“Boo!” You screamed causing Luke to flinch his body jittering as you snickered at the shivering of his shoulders just having finished pinning the last 3D bats over your door frame
“Jesus Christ! You are insane you hear me!? Lala loopy” He hissed speaking with his hands to emphasis his point as you smirked before putting up grabby hands at the blue eyed pale man while he backed away declining the offer with a passion
“My big helper you have saved the kingdom from a unfulfilling castle and your reward is a lay of my lips” You made a high pitched smooch sound from your lips before placing it on his cheek the stubble tickling yours in return
“You’re gonna be the death of me woman” Luke uttered as you turned your back towards him pressed against his front half before he pressed a kiss to the crown of your head as the wind currents picked up around you both
Luke could argue about the best time of the year

Hospital Hallways | Luke Danes | Gilmore Girls
Tumblr media
GIF by livelovecaliforniadreams
no.16: hospitals
It was no secret that Luke hated hospitals. Everything from the sterile lighting, the smell of antiseptic in the corridors, to the constant hustle and bustle admits the calm. Not to mention the constant rotation of diseases and dying patients.
On a normal day, he could think of a million and one places that he would rather be but today he couldn't think of a single solitary reason to be anywhere else.
(Y/N) had fallen outside the diner. Black ice. Luke had seen it happen; he had rushed out to help her up but quickly found that she couldn't stand by herself. Her leg was broken, he knew that as much which meant a trip to the ER. Luke had offered to drive her, but it was only on the drive up did he realise what that entailed: being stuck in a hospital waiting room.
Luke went though, and he stayed in the waiting room as they examined her leg. He waited even though he hated nothing more than hospitals because there was nothing else he loved more than (Y/N).
He had loved her from a distance for a while. She came into the diner more and more, reciprocating Luke's flirting although he was convinced that hers were only friendly. He watched her from a distance, he didn't allow himself to get involved. She deserved something better than him, something better than what he could give her.
So he resigned himself to be her shoulder to cry on, to be there when she needed a friend. If he couldn't be anything more, Luke was happy to be the man to take her to the hospital when she broke her leg.

secret - luke danes
Tumblr media
luke danes x fem!reader
summary: lorelai oversteps and luke reveals your relationship
warnings: secret relationship, reader is younger than luke but no specific age is given, tiny bit of angst perhaps?
word count: 1.4k
“coffee?” luke asked, and you pushed your mug towards him with a smile.
“thanks.”
you were sitting at a table at luke’s diner when you overheard lorelai and rory talking about him,
the man oblivious as he went to fetch their order.
“do you think he’s dated anyone since rachel? lorelai said to her daughter in a hushed voice.
“I don’t know,” rory shrugged. “where would he meet anyone? he’s either here or in his apartment.”
“maybe he has a secret life. maybe he’s got a little chippy stowed away in mount pilot,” lorelai suggested, and rory laughed through her nose. “well we’ll know eventually.”
“i think he’s a bachelor for life.”
“and i think there’s someone for everyone,” the younger gilmore disagreed, before they began talking about music.
you tuned out the rest of their conversation, as it no longer pertained to your boyfriend. you and luke had been dating for about three months, and by some miracle had managed to keep it a secret; not an easy task in stars hollow. you couldn’t change the channel on the television in this town without someone finding out about it.
you were keeping the relationship hidden while it was new, since you were new to town and you were also a bit younger than luke. you had only moved here a little under six months ago; you didn’t need the added attention of a relationship while you were still settling into town, and luke respected that.
once the gilmore girls left, you went over to the counter to get another coffee to go, and luke smiled as he turned around and noticed it was you.
“hey, another coffee?” he asked.
“to go please,” you nodded, and he handed it to you, exchanging it for the mug you’d had. “call me later?” you whispered, though the diner was pretty empty, and he nodded, before you walked out of the store.
it was a few days later, and you were walking into the diner to grab a bite to eat. you put your headphones on but didn’t turn on your walkman so you could still hear as you walked inside and sat in the corner, luke holding up a finger to let you know he would be with you in a minute. you heard the door open and watched lorelai walk in and sit at the counter across from luke. you felt guilty for eavesdropping, but soon realized what the conversation was about and decided it did (slightly) pertain to you.
“hey, good party yesterday,” he greeted her, and you remembered him mentioning last night that he’d gone to help her fix something at a party her club was hosting.
“yeah, not bad”, she agreed with a smile.
“i like the new look it was very high class substitute teacher.”
“exactly what i was going for.”
“coffee?” he asked.
“oh, to go,” she answered, and luke switched the mug he’d placed in front of her for a paper cup. “hey luke, i feel a little weird even mentioning this to you-“ she began.
“what?”
“well yesterday i saw you talking to ava you know she’s in my booster club?”
“yeah i know who she is,” he replied, and you wondered what she was getting at.
“so anyhow, i saw you guys talking alone and it seemed kind of private and she mentioned earlier that you didn’t make her you know - gag,” she emphasized the word before continuing. “so I just figured you guys were making some sort of plans to hang out and see the thing is i just think it would be a little weird if you started dating a chilton mom.” you sat dumbfounded on the other side of the diner and luke raised his eyebrows slightly as she rambled on. “i know i have no right to say anything to you, but it’s just if you did date her - well i’m in the booster club with her which means i’ll hear things and i don’t know it’s just- i’d like to keep that chilton life separate from my stars hollow life so if there’s anyway that you could not date her, that would be really great,” she finished with a smile and a tap of her fingers on the counter top.
you sat in disbelief in your seat, still not daring to look their way as you wondered if it might have been better to not listen to the conversation after all.
“boy i tell you, you’ve got nerve,” he replied, sounding less than impressed with her speech.
“okay, uh w-“ she stuttered. “well i know this is your private business-“
“it is my private business.”
“you don’t see any validity to my side at all?” she asked.
“i am a grown man. you cannot tell me who to date to date,” he insisted.
“i’m not telling you who to date, i’m telling you who not to date,” she argued.
“you can’t tell me that either!”
“look-“ she began but he interrupted her.
“i will date who i like and if that screws with your plans, then i’m sorry - and if you don’t wanna hear things then don’t listen.”
“but-“
“if you don’t like it, you can just deal with it!” he said, and you weren’t sure you had ever heard him use that tone before.
“okay! i’ll just deal with it!,” she replied.
“good.”
“i just thought that if something was going to affect our friendship in some way that you might care about that because if the situation was reversed then i would care about that but that’s me! so go ahead date her!” she said, standing up, obviously offended. “marry her! make her mrs.backwards baseball cap - live happily ever after. see if i care!” lorelai flapped her arm around as she began walking out of the diner. “and by the way, I wasn’t asking her out,” luke informed her. “i was giving her directions for the quickest way back to hartford. it was very romantic. i said you take a right at deerfield and you catch the I-5 and you take it south. oh man, hot stuff!” he explained.
“that is so typical of you!”
“what?” he said, and you could recognize by his voice that he was rolling his eyes.
“that is not the quickest way back to hartford. everybody knows that you take main to cherry to linwood and then grab the 11. everybody knows that luke - everybody apparently but you!” she said, and her voice wavered as if she was getting emotional.
“and just for the record, not that it’s any of your business at all, i’m seeing someone. don’t worry she’s not one of the snobs in your chilton club so you won’t have to hear about it!”
you were glad you didn’t have a coffee yet or you probably would spat it out in surprise, and you wished more than anything that you had been able to see the look or lorelais face. you had nothing against her, but you did agree she had severely overstepped here.
“well that’s great! i’m so happy for you!” she spat angrily, and stormed out of the diner. thankfully there hadn’t been many people inside eating to hear the conversation, or luke’s confession of having a girlfriend. you decided you weren’t as concerned with people finding out anymore. you were happy with luke and that’s what was most important.
“hey,” luke greeted quietly as he appeared next to your table with a mug and coffee pot.
“hey,” you smiled up at him.
“how much did you hear?” he asked sheepishly, pouring you drink.
“all of it,” you admitted. “i’m sorry.”
“you don’t have to apologize. i’m sorry i told her without asking i just-“
“hey,” you put your hand on his softly. “i’m not mad. i guess the cats kinda out of the bag though.”
“no one knows it’s you,” he pointed out.
“it’s a small town - how long do you think it’ll take them to figure it out?” you laughed.
“yeah i guess so.”
“so, this chilton mom-“ you teased.
“don’t start,” he rolled his eyes, but smiled. “you’re really okay with people knowing about us?” he asked, and you nodded.
“yeah, i am,” you decided. “are you?”
“yeah, i guess i am,” he agreed, and you smiled.
“good.”
“good,” you beamed, and luke walked back behind the counter. you thought he had gone back to work, but he returned with another mug of coffee and sat down across from you.
“mind if i join you?” he teased, and you were surprised.
“are you…taking a break?”
“yeah,” he agreed.
“you? luke danes? are taking a break-“
“shut up before i change my mind?” he said playfully and you smiled, sipping your coffee.
“deal.”

the mystery woman, part ii (Luke Danes x female!reader)
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, I'm so sorry for the lack of update for over a year! Truth be told, I was never planning to follow up on this story. It was just a little project to have fun with, but I saw how many people enjoyed it and wanted to get back into writing, so I hope you enjoy this as well. Since I wasn't certain on the reader's character yet, this still takes place before their date. (Scroll down for Part I)
Luke ran his hand through hair nervously a few times. "Hey, uh, Jess." He glanced over at his sullen nephew, poring over novels that probably weren't for school.
"What," Jess responded in a statement, not a question, as all the Danes men did.
Luke sighed, bracing himself for the favor he was about to entreat. "When you use hair mousse, how much do you actually apply?" He held the jar between three fingers tentatively.
Jess looked up, finally intrigued.
"I mean, I know you use it like water, or shampoo, judging by how often I have to buy shampoo. I tell you, Jess, if you cover your hair in this oily stuff, of course you need lots to wash it off-" Luke started rambling again. He was nervous about his date later that night and found solace in taking it out on his surly nephew.
"Shut up, will you?" Jess stalked towards him, grinning. "Why are you trying to look like you don't fry potatoes for a living?"
Luke smoothened the collar of his leather jacket and turned to Jess. "Hey!" he pointed. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with what I do. I'm just trying to fix myself up tonight. I have a-" he sighed for what seemed the hundredth time that very hour. "I have a date."
"Mrs Slutsky?" Jess prodded.
"(Y/N)!" Luke glared at him. "You don't know her, lucky for her. Not so lucky for you, she seems like an incredibly lady." He cringed, whilst Jess raised his eyebrows, holding back the urge to wiggle them.
"So I assume you've talked to her? Is she a friend of Lorelai?"
"We had a–a brief conversation back in the diner. She's a hotel consultant, here for the inn. But not a friend of Lorelai.
"I don't know. You know I don't do this often, Jess, because I find the whole courting process nauseating. But, I figured, if everything goes to hell, at least she doesn't live here," Luke conceded. He was happy to talk to someone other than Caesar and Patty, who were all too eager to engage in Luke's love life and gossip about what could be. Probably for their morning gossip column, Luke thought with disdain.
"Ah, how romantic. Just the way every great romantic novel starts: if it all goes to hell..."
"Shut up." Luke directed another pointed look to his nephew. "I didn't think you'd have much interest in romantic novels, other than the ones you write in and gift Rory."
Eager to move past the conversation of his love life, Jess quickly screwed open the jar of the conversation starter. "So about the mousse, just scoop up a dollop and run it through your hair. I'm not going to do it for you, because this isn't some stupid–"
"Okay, okay, I get it!" Luke said, quickly following the directions.
Ten minutes later, Luke was ready. He brushed his hair multiple times until Jess made a snarky remark, guided him out the door and promised to lock up after. Although grateful for his nephew's uncharacteristic benevolence, Luke was glad he asked Caesar to check in an hour later.
Luke got in his truck and drove over to the restaurant you agreed to meet at. He enjoyed the hum of the vehicle over the busy highway he either detested or tuned out, focused on the drive instead.
He looked back to his conversation with you. Despite it only occurring a few hours before (well, about 7), he still cringed at nearly everything he said. Did he say he was full of surprises? Not only was that a god awful way of flirting, it was also a lie.
He thought back to what Jess said, watching Luke comb his hair. "So when you were waxing poetic about your future, you said it's okay if it goes to hell because she'd eventually leave. But what if it doesn't go to hell?" Luke cracked a joke about Jess's sudden optimism, enjoying he and his nephew's relatively pleasant moments, engaged in banter, and even confiding in and advising each other.
What if it doesn't go to hell? Luke's head spun. After Anna and Rachel, he assumed heartbreak was around every corner. It was why he avoided new relationships, why he didn't take those chances, why he got back with Rachel so many times. He always wanted to follow every strand of wool to the rest of the ball to see if it was worth it, he couldn't leave a possibility he invested time and effort in, unfinished. That's why he finally approached Lorelai and realized she wasn't the one. But what if you were the one? What then?
His mind raced for a second, before his coping mechanism of overwhelming practicality kicked in. He didn't need to think that much. hell, you barely knew each other.
Luke pulled up before the restaurant, its lights glaring harshly against the dark night sky. He silently cursed the consumerism and skyscrapers in the big city, before he got out of his truck. Change is good, change is necessary. Change leads you to dining with pretty women at 6 o'clock in the evening.
He wasn't sure whether to enter and linger in the waiting area, because he wasn't yet invited in, or to wait outside. The first was awkward. He'd hang around, because his party hadn't arrived yet and people would conjecture that his date didn't show. But waiting outside seemed desperate in his own way, like he was watching you pull in, ready to pounce.
He wished he had a dial by the side of his head, to turn his thoughts off, or at least, to slow them down. He knew nothing about you would make his life easier, because, right now, you overwhelmed him with how cool you seemed. You weren't Lorelai Gilmore or Rachel (what was her last name again?) cool. You turned heads simply by walking in the room and had a quiet, effortless charm about you that just drew him to you. He wished you hadn't such an effect on him, because he was too far in. And because it would hurt so much if you truly did stand him up.

hello. please don't hate me, but I was so caught up in writing the story that I only noticed the daddy kink after I had already finished... I hope you still like it, and I do apologise. thank you so much for liking my stories and requesting this.
summary - you and luke broke up, and at a town event, you have to watch him and his ex, causing you to flirt with lorelai's ex and ending with luke taking you apart.
warning - smut, angst, choking, jealousy, mentions of cheating, creampie, breaking and entering.
18+ only please, the gif I use isn't mine, divider by @newlips

This was stupid. Why were you getting jealous of her being here? Of her having all of Luke’s attention, something you felt you never got when you two were together. Was she the reason he broke up with you? Did he realise she was better than you and that he could do better? You couldn’t bare this. It was too much. How were you supposed to stay at this damn town event when all you could see were the two of them? No matter how many times you moved, they always appeared everywhere you went.
You went to the bar that Taylor had so graciously allowed and ordered yourself a whiskey, needing something strong to get through the night. You lean against the counter, drumming your fingers against it as you look sadly down at your drink. “What’s a pretty woman like you doing all alone over here?” You huff, rolling your eyes slightly at the pickup line and turn your head toward the man. Your eyes widen somewhat when you see Max, one of Lorelai’s exes.
“Max? What are you doing in Stars Hollow? I thought…” You trail off, staring at him with furrowed brows. “How have you been?” You give him a soft smile, resting your hand on his bicep.
He chuckles, grinning. “I’ve been good. I was just passing through, and my car broke down.” He shrugs as if it’s nothing and continues to smile down at you. “You look good.” Your smile widens.
“Thank you. You don’t look so bad yourself.” The two of you talk briefly, and some flirting is added to the conversation before you excuse yourself. “It was nice catching up with you, Max. I think I might go home and get some rest. I hope we can catch up some other time?” He nods, giving you another smile before bending down and placing a kiss on your cheek. You turn and begin to head toward your house, and the sadness starts to set in that you are headed toward an empty home, one that used to be filled with so much love and joy. You make your way up your porch and to your front door, unlocking it and walking inside. You don’t notice the grumpy man sitting in his old chair that he still hasn’t collected. You turn around after taking your coat off and hanging it up, jumping when your gaze lands on him. “Luke?! What are you doing here?!”
He grunts, standing from the chair and stalking toward you. You back into the wall as he traps you, bringing his hand up to your throat and squeezing. “Did you seriously think flirting with him was okay? Are you trying to make me jealous?” You whimper, squeezing your thighs together as your cunt throbs.
“Weren’t you doing the same? Isn’t that why you left me? For her?” You argue back, “You know. The woman who cheated on you!” The rage and sadness were building up inside you, confused about why he cares or feels he’s allowed to be jealous. You push against his body, not wanting him so close to you. You could feel yourself breaking with him being so close, his scent reminding you of the times he’d hold you close. Tears began to fall as you stared into his eyes. Luke moves closer, his tears forming before he smashes his lips against yours. You whimper into his mouth, hands curling into his shirt, pulling him closer.
“Jump,” Luke grunts against your lips, catching your legs and wrapping them around his waist as he carries you to the couch. He sits, pulling you into his lap as your lips move rapidly against one another. He reaches down, unzipping his pants and pulls out his throbbing member. “You’re mine.” You moan as he pulls your knickers to the side, lining his thick mushroom tip against your sopping entrance. Luke’s head falls back as he pushes in, groaning at how tight and warm you are. “Mine. Didn’t want to leave you.” He pulls your head down, cupping the back of your neck. Your lips were nearly touching as he stared deeply into your eyes, slowly moving you up and down. “I couldn’t let you get caught up in staying with a guy like me. You deserve the world, and I can only give you the view of a diner.” Your movements become slow as he talks, and you crash your lips into his.
“I don’t care.” You whine, panting against his lips. “I don’t want the world. I want you. I want the diner.” You bounce faster, needing to cum, needing to feel closer to him. “I love you so much. Please don’t leave me.” You push yourself closer to him, pressing your lips into his harder. Your tears mix with his, causing the two of you to be able to taste the saltiness.
Luke’s hand that is cupping the back of your neck moves to cup your cheek, and his other moves down your body, gripping your hips before thrusting up into you, holding you close. “I love you too, sweetheart. I’m so sorry.” Your bodies begin to move lovingly with one another. You move to bury your face into his neck, whimpering and pressing kisses into his skin. “Love you so much.” Luke groans, wrapping his around tightly around you as he begins to pound into you, needing to feel you cum around him, needing to fill you. “Cum for me, sweetheart. Please.”
You moan, your eyes rolling to the back of your head as your arousal flows out of you, cumming all over his cock and pants. You cling to him as he buries his cock deep inside of you and cums, filling you to the brim with his sperm. You both pant, catching your breath, and you lean back with his softening cock still inside you, and you look at him. “Did you mean it? Because I don’t want you to get back with me because you pity me. I want this to last, Luke. I want to marry you and hold your last name, and I want mini versions of us to run around the diner. I don’t want to do this if you aren’t all in.” You feel yourself choke up, staring into his eyes.
Luke cups your cheeks, stroking away the fallen tears. “I’m all in. You can count on me, Y/n, because I am all in.” He leans forward and presses a kiss on your lips.

POISON, jess mariano
Tumblr media
summary: jess has always kept to himself. never cared to like a girl since it “wasted his time,” but when he meets her…
pairings: jess mariano x fem!reader
warnings: fluff, smoking, making out, jess’ in love !
POISON
it all started with...
"jess, go help out that table," his uncle demanded, too busy sweeping the counter to look at him.
"yes, uncle Luke." huffed the boy, murmuring something under his breath, staring at his feet as they moved towards the table.
once his eyes locked with yours, as poetic as it sounds, the world around him, stopped.
"I-what can I get you?" he asked, quickly collecting himself as he awaited for your answer.
"uhh, a danish." you hummed, your eyes skimming the boy, seeing him for the first time.
his eyes looked down, spotting a book you've been reading, "pride and prejudice, huh?"
"you read?" to find someone your age, matter of fact, a boy, that reads, wasn't something you hear everyday.
"not much." was all he said.
oh.
"aha." you hummed as a reply.
"hemingway's better," the boy continued.
"yeah?" you raised your brow.
"yeah." he stared into your eyes, daring you to say something.
"jess! get the girl her goddamn food!" the boy, jess, rolled his eyes at his uncle, giving the girl one last smirk before leaving her table.
"one danish to that girl." jess stated, throwing the notepad onto the counter and making his way upstairs, deciding to finish his shift for the day.
jess was smoking a cigarette at the lake when he heard her voice again.
"smoking can kill you." you say as you sit down next to him, your legs dangling from the bridge.
jess looked at you, tilting his face a bit before averting his eyes back to the lake.
"yeah, well.." he didn't know what to say.
"it'll be a shame, too pretty to die." you said quietly, loud enough for him to hear, though.
"are you flirting with me?" the boy smirks, looking at your face once again.
"why, is it working?"
"well I feel quite flattered." he smiles, putting a smile on your face too.
"you're pretty too." he says after a bit of silence.
"thank you, jess."
"hey! you know my name, tell me yours."
"dunno, I like being mysterious." you gave a cheeky smile.
"please?" he tried giving you his best puppy eyes, which worked.
"y/n."
once jess heard your name come out of your lips, he paused, his eyes slowly drifting around your face, finally putting a name to the face.
"well, y/n, come walk with me?" he stood up, proposing his hand for you to take.
you take his hand, lifting yourself up and letting him take anywhere.
"what's with you and y/n?" Luke bursts into their shared room, startling jess, who has been leaning on Luke's bed, one hand holding his book.
"what do you mean?" his ears seemed to prick up at your name.
"you know what I mean! running around with y/n for 2 months now!"
"look, I might be in love with her." he stated.
"in love?! jess, you're 17." his uncle yelled confusingly.
"so?! im 18 soon. y/n is amazing, I've never felt like this before."
"I never saw you like this before!" Luke sighed, calming down. "just don't fuck up." and with a final nod, he left, leaving jess with a small smile on his face.
jess pulled himself up, reaching for the phone.
"y/n, hi." he smiled, biting his lip.
"jess!" your voice came from the other side, making his smile grow wider.
"meet me at the bridge in 5." and with that he ended the call, rushing downstairs and out the diner.
once he reached the bridge, he was out of breath. he ran so he could make it before you, so you didn't overthink if he bailed on you or not.
"jessie" you smile teasingly once you meet him.
"y/n." he did the same.
"anything you wanted to ask me?" you raise your brow.
"right! y/n, I know we only know eachother for a bit more than two months, but I fell for you. your smile, our share of love for books and music, your random rants late at night. I fell for you."
he awaited for your answer, his heart beating out of his chest, he has never done that before. the first time he saw you, he was addicted. it was like poison. you were poison.
but he loves it. he loves you.
"I fell for you too." your face hurt from smiling.
that was all jess needed for him to pull you into a long kiss, grabbing onto your neck, he kissed you long and good.
both could stayed like that forever.

just tonight - luke danes
Tumblr media
luke danes x reader
summary: lorelai’s engagement party brings out some feelings for both you and luke
warnings: drinking, a bit of angst, suggestive content
word count: 1.8k
there must have been a thousand pink and purple flowers decorating the town square, weaved intricately around the gazebo as the twinkling light and stars lit up the night sky. it was lorelai and max’s engagement party, and so far it seemed to be a huge success, everyone in town was here enjoying the food and the music.
well, almost everyone.
as you walked around the party, you couldn’t help but notice that luke was absent. you glanced across the street and saw lights inside the small restaurant, and before you could stop yourself you felt you feet walking in that direction. you and luke were friends, but you would be lying if you said you didn’t feel something more for the man. a lot more. however it was unfortunately obvious to everyone except luke and lorelai that they had a thing for eachother. although, she was marrying someone else, so maybe it was just luke.
“hey,” you greeted as you walked through the door, and he looked up at the sound of the bell ringing.
“hey, i thought i flipped the closed sign around.”
“you did,” you smiled, sitting down across from him as he refilled ketchup bottles. “i came in anyway.”
“awesome, remind me to lock the door next time”, he teased, and you smiled.
“it’s quite the party out there. i thought i’d take a break - get away from all the lovey dovey stuff for a minute.”
“understandable,” he groaned. you knew he was happy for lorelai, but as much as it wasn’t your thing, a party that big really wasn’t luke’s scene.
“mind if i keep you company for a bit?”
“would you leave if i said i did?”
“probably not,” you replied, and he smiled, shaking his head.
“i’ll make coffee.”
“actually, since it’s after business hours, do you have any beer?” you asked, and he nodded, disappearing the the kitchen and returning with two glass bottles, placing one on the counter in front of you and keeping the other for himself.
“they look really happy,” you sighed happily, staring out the window.
“that’s good,” luke replied.
“are you okay?” you asked.
“fine,” he mumbled, wiping the counter with a towel, avoiding eye contact.
“are you sure?”
“yes, why wouldn’t i be?” he asked.
“because your best friend, who many people believe you have a thing for-“
“i do not have a thing for her,” he interrupted.
“i didn’t say you did, i said many people believe-“
“like who?” he threw the towel over his shoulder and crossed his arms, finally looking up at you. your eyes met and you gave him a sympathetic look.
“lots of people, luke,” you said softly.
“like you?” he asked, and you shrugged.
“maybe-“
“look we’re just friends! that’s it!” he insisted.
“okay! i believe you!” you raised your hands in defeat.
“good. can we talk about something else?”
“sure,” you nodded, but your mind was blank of anything to talk about as you watched him take a sip from his beer.
an hour went by, as did a few more beers each, and you and luke sat at the counter next to eachother, talking about whatever. you found it so easy to talk to luke about little things like what you did that day, how things were going at the diner, but when it came to talking about your feelings, you were about as good at it as he was.
“so i guess you’re gonna ask me to go out and enjoy the festivities?” luke asked, and you shook your head.
“i wasn’t, actually,” you disagreed, giggling happily as he shot you a glance that told you he didn’t believe you for a second.
“why not? isn’t that why you came in here?” he said, finishing up with the ketchup bottles and walking around to put them back on each table.
“maybe i just want to hang out with you,” you said honestly, and he nearly knocked over one of the ketchup bottles.
“what? why would you want to do that?”
“because i-“
the alcohol had weakened the walls you’d built around yourself, and you nearly confessed how you felt right then and there. you weren’t sure if you would have regretted it, but it didn’t matter.
before you could answer, the bell above the door sounded, and you both looked over to see the woman of the hour walk in.
“hey,” lorelai greeted, and you gave her a smile. she really did look beautiful in her dress. she looked happy.
“hey,” luke replied. “why aren’t you at your party?” he asked as she walked up the the counter.
“aww that’s funny, i was about to ask you the same thing,” she replied, and luke glanced over at you.
“i’ll see you later?” you asked him, and he nodded, his eyes going back to lorelai rather quickly, and your heart felt a little stab.
“is this seat taken?” a voice made you jump in your seat, and luke smiled down at you.
“no, all yours,” you smiled, scooting over on the bench where you’d been watching the party.
“thanks,” he sighed, his leg brushing against yours softly as he sat down.
“so lorelai managed to convince you to join the fun, huh?” you teased.
“maybe i just decided i wanted to come out here,” he argued playfully.
“please, luke,” you rolled your eyes. “you would stand in traffic if she asked you to,” you said without meaning to, and the look on his face told you that you’d gone too far.
“what does that mean?” he asked, stiffening in his seat.
“i’m sorry, but come on luke!” you pleaded. “you don’t have to lie to me, i’ve seen the way you look at her.”
“and how is that?” he demanded, and you felt your emotions bubbling over like a pot someone had forgotten on the stove.
“the same way i look at you,” you said without meaning too, and your heart pounded so hard you thought it was going to jump out of your chest and fall at your feet.
“you’re drunk,” he dismissed, staring at you in disbelief.
“no, luke,” you sighed. “well, a little - but that’s not the point. is it so hard to believe that someone might like you?” you asked.
“yes.”
“why?”
“i don’t know- i’m… me,” he said, his face scrunching up, and you giggled softly. “okay, yeah - you’re drunk. let’s get you home.”
“luke, wait,” you protested as he stood up and grabbed your hand, dragging you off the bench.
“come on,” he insisted, but you planted your feet, slowing him down until he stopped and turned towards you.
“please, luke.”
“what?” he sighed, and you grabbed his other hand so you were now holding both of them.
“i mean it,” you looked up at him, his eyes looking down into yours. “i like you, a lot.”
“remind me never to give you alcohol again-“ he joked.
“i’m serious, luke. you’re not listening to me.”
“what do you want me to say?” he asked softly.
“i don’t… i don’t know,” you admitted, your head starting to feel funny from the alcohol, or maybe from being so close to him, you weren’t sure.
“let me take you home,” he whispered, and you nodded, letting him drop your one hand to lead you down the sidewalk towards your house.
neither of you noticed the eyes on you from back at the square, lorelai smiling at the two of you as she dance with max.
“here you are, your highness,” like teased, as he escorted you through your house and to your bedroom door.
“thank you, my knight in flannel armour,” you giggled. “hey, i’m sorry about…“
“about what?” he interrupted, leaning against the doorframe.
“getting all… emotional. i know you hate that.”
“i do,” he said, but he smiled. “but i forgive you.”
“thank you,” you sighed, wrapping your arms around him in a hug. luke’s body stiffened for a second, but then he relaxed, wrapping his arms around you in return. “luke?”
“yeah?” he whispered, and you pulled back to look at him, his arms around your body still holding you close.
“would you kiss me?” you asked, and he was silent for a second.
“are you asking me if i would, or are you asking me to?”
“i’m asking you to,” you decided, and he did. he leaned forward and his lips met yours in a soft kiss, which quickly turned messy. his hands moved to your waist, and your fingers gripped the front of his shirt tightly as your teeth grazed his bottom lip.
luke’s hand held the side of your face as your hands made their way to his belt, but he stopped you.
“wait,” he muttered softly, and you stared up at him.
“you don’t …want to..?” you mumbled.
“it’s not that,“ he said, but didn’t elaborate.
“do you love her?”
“who?”
“lorelai,” you asked in a tone that implied it was obvious.
“no,” he said unconvincingly, and you raised an eyebrow. “i don’t know. we’ve always just been friends and now she’s getting married to someone else. geez you know i don’t do the whole feelings thing and you’ve had me talking about it all night,” he said with a short laugh. “it doesn’t matter.”
“it does matter.”
“not really. can we go back to talking about this?” he gestured between the two of you, hands still holding eachother close.
“okay. so you don’t want to sleep with me?” you asked nervously.
“it’s not that i don’t want to,” he sighed. “ask me when you haven’t been drinking, okay? and give me a little time to figure…” he pointed to his heart. “this thing out.” he asked, and while you were still a little disappointed, you knew you would appreciate it in the morning.
“okay,” you agreed. “thank you, luke.”
“for what?” he smiled.
“for always looking out for me,” you smiled back, and he kissed your forehead softly.
“don’t mention it. seriously any more sappy stuff tonight and i’ll lose my mind,” he said, and you laughed. “alright, let’s get you to bed.”
as if on cue, you yawned, and he pushed you towards the bed, pulling back the blanket so you could lay down, before tucking you in.
“luke?” you said, grabbing his wrist before he could walk away.
“yeah?” he asked.
“stay?” you pleaded.
he sighed softly, but kicked his boots off, muttering a soft ‘okay’ under his breath before he got into bed next to you.
“but no funny business,” he ordered, and you smiled, curling into his side.
“promise,” you agreed, before leaning over and kissing his cheek quickly. “thank you, luke,” you mumbled sleepily, resting your head on his chest. his arms wrapped around you, holding you close as you drifted off to sleep.
“anything for you.”

A cup of coffee (Luke x male!reader)
Tumblr media
This is a request for @thewheat-thins69, hope you enjoy!
Luke pulled out his old roller-skates and eyed them, in a weird amalgamation of disdain and wonder. Rushed to his mind were memories of gliding down the pavement in his teen years, returning home from school, eager to see his dad. His teenage years were the very definition of a mixed bag. It was filled with dreams, hope and energy, the efforts of his wonderful parents, but then tragedy worked its cruel hands in the affair.
He shook off those memories, focusing instead on the wonder. On you. He was absolutely enraptured by you. You were the only person who could bring a cup of Weston's egregious coffee and only receive in turn a mild reproach.
You had started off as friends but Luke couldn't deny his ever-growing feelings for you. Once, as a joke, Lorelai proposed the two of you spent so much time together, you acted like a married couple. You both turned away from each other. He anticipated rejection or puzzlement on your face, you didn't know what to expect on his. When Lorelai noticed both of your forlorn yet hopeful expressions, she went: "Oh my god. Did I just inadvertently play matchmaker or ruin yet another friendship?"
"It's fine," Luke remembered brushing off in his cliched way. "I-I don't know if (Y/N)'s acquainted with your exasperating sense of humour, Lorelai. It probably caught him off guard."
Lorelai had shot an annoyed look Luke's way. "Hello? (Y/N) works at the inn. We spend many evenings laughing at your expense, appreciating my wonderful, perky, very welcome sense of humour."
She'd turned to you in the middle. "That wasn't even my best work," she reminded you, only to notice how out-of-it you seemed. And by out-of-it, out of the friendly dynamic the three of you shared. Your attention was fixed on Luke, and he seemed to you the only person in the room.
In the way she quickly walked and talked, Lorelai also abruptly took the hint. "I should get going. Rory's home from Yale and claimed to have brought with her a pizza the size of our kitchen table. I didn't think we ever needed that thing but now it seems to have finally found its calling-okay, bye bye." She had stumbled out the door, awkwardly chuckling.
"Luke, I–"
"(Y/N)"
You spoke at the same time, emitting a chuckle that finally cut the tension in the air. "You first," you coaxed.
Luke looked caught off guard instead and swallowed nervously. "So, I-uh, I don't know what to say exactly. I'd be lying if I said I never thought about this, never thought about us. Or that I hadn't thought about this exact moment in my head either, but we're friends and I never wanted to ruin that. I know the move to Stars Hollow wasn't easy for you, and I can't blame you. This place would repel Walt Disney, for god's sake. But I-I can, very awkwardly, say that things here haven't been the same since I met you."
"Luke," you said.
"Wait," Luke interrupted, "before I lose my resolve. Would you like to go out sometime? I mean, can I take you out sometime? On a date."
You smiled, a wave of comfort running through you, at what you wished to transpire but never imagined would so perfectly unfold. However, when you saw Luke's nervous, pleading expression, you wanted to make this moment easier on you. "So long as it's at Weston's!" you teased, provoking another laugh from the both of you.
Now Luke was wistfully rolling back and forth his roller-skates on his apartment ground, thinking about the moment when everything fell in place. God, he neither thought he'd have to recruit Lorelai Gilmore as his wingwoman, nor be so pleased she was there that second.
He set off for the rink Taylor recently opened to compete with that of Woodbridge. He tried not to think about Taylor at that second, lest his mind fill with annoyance instead.
When he got to the rink, he looked round, only to discover how crowded it was. "Luke!" he heard a cheerful young girl's voice. It was Lane who skated up to him. "Come on in. We have a bet on which job Taylor hired Kirk for, and the largest sum is on concession stand!"
Luke resisted the inclination to roll his eyes at what Stars Hollow considered gambling but then spotted you walking in and absentmindedly patted Lane's shoulder. "You go ahead, I'll-uh, catch up." Confused, Lane agreed and skated off.
Luke met you close to the entrance. "Hey," you said with a smile that made his knees weak. You both lingered on the way to greet each other until you ended up in a bear hug. Luke's arms felt so strong and safe, like nothing, not even your pesky worries or doubts, could plague you at that moment.
"I have my skates right here," said Luke. "My feet grew exponentially when I was a kid, we had to buy new ones every few years. Then when I was 18, we seemed to hit a plateau, so I finally fit in these, still." He stopped. "And now I realised I spent the last twenty seconds talking bout shoes, I'm sorry."
You smiled. "No, don't be. I was going to rent but then Lorelai told me Taylor found three different loopholes to hike these prices up and bought a pair of these bad boys. If all goes well, perhaps I'll get to use them again." Luke grinned warmly, which immediately eased your worries. You realised the implication behind your last phrase meant that you were dreaming of a second date and proper future with Luke, but didn't want to be so presumptuous to assume Luke was on the same page. But his smile conveyed an understanding that you actually reassured him, rather than frighten him away.
"So how bout we take a few rounds? If you want a coffee or something, we can stop at the cafe. Or I can take you to Weston's. They do make a pie there which makes me stop thinking about how much butter they use in the crust," Luke rambled once again. When he started talking to you, he felt the need to both confide in you as much as he could in those few breaths and add the necessary provisions to his words, in case you got the wrong idea. He didn't want to ruin anything before you properly explored it.
You laughed, wondering if Luke would ever recognise how endearing he was in his nervousness. You were so sick of men who compensated for their insecurity with brazenness and ego, that Luke was a breath of fresh air. You could tease him and he wouldn't crack. He'd just smile and banter back. He could keep up with you and that felt so reassuring. Everything about him felt secure.
You both entered the rink and skated close to the edge, because everyone was gathered near the middle, in a huddle. You heard Babette argue with Taylor: "You're crazy! Why would you put Kirk in charge of guarding the door?"
You smiled. Stars Hollow was a unique place, that's for sure. But it was also so peaceful yet full of excitement. And it was a community, so people all helped each other and were there for each other, in a way they didn't bother to match in the city.
You only half-paid attention when Taylor pushed that Kirk was the only one who could spot and stop a Litchfield spy, attempting to copy the design and layout of their rink, to beat it as the best in Connecticut.
Luke noticed your faraway look and said, "To have Taylor's problems." Humour was the way you bonded as friends so he assumed it would carry on in your relationship too.
You laughed politely, only partly in the loop on Luke and Taylor's incessant rivalry. When someone bumped into you and went on in a fashion inconceivable with the camaraderie of the town, Luke grabbed onto you with more haste than was necessary. "You okay?" he asked. His gruff voice had the surprising ability to both calm and ground you. "Why don't we get out of here?" He immediately blushed at the implication and quickly went back on his words: "I mean out of the rink, get you a coffee or something!"
You realised it was getting a bit rowdier, what with Kirk entering the circle and attempting to proclaim his winnings for having bet on himself. "It's rigged now, Kirk, you ruined everything!" Patty protested.
You and Luke walked back to the diner, silently enjoying each other's company. "Ah shoot," he said as you both ambled in. "I know you prefer the coffee at Weston's and I brought you here. Am I a cheap date or what?"
"I don't go to Weston's for the coffee. Yours is far superior."
"Really? Well, I thought everyone enjoyed their whipped cream disasters they call 'specialty,' but that may just be Lorelai and Rory."
You smiled. "There's a time and place for that, but daily, I prefer Luke-Luke's!" You stumbled on your words as well. Luke smiled, turning to pour your coffee and omit the glee on his face.
After you nursed your cup for a bit, Luke suggested you go upstairs and watch a movie, only to, midway on the staircase, remember he didn't own a television. Before he opened the door, he told you this, expecting you to want to return downstairs, but you diverted his expectations.
"No, let's stay. You'll make tea and you keep the good tea up here," you said. Luke hadn't dated a friend before, but he so enjoyed the different awkwardness that came with it. Gone was the embarrassment of having to share with a virtual stranger the intimacy of a couple, on a one-on-one date. What unfortunately lingered was the fear of saying the wrong thing and making it worse. But what was entirely new was knowing the person so well that you could predict what the wrong thing was to say. It is different, though. We're friends and we know each other, and I keep thinking I can't say the wrong thing. But I inevitably do, Luke's mind debated with itself.
He opened the door to the apartment and put the kettle on, while you made yourself comfortable on the sofa, rearranging the cushions the way you knew you liked it at home. You took a sip out of the diner-large cup and sighed in pleasure. Luke made coffee like no one else in Connecticut.
Luke watched you and smiled to himself. He brought his tea and you both finally fell back into comfortable banter and conversation. Neither of you were as nervous as you were when the date began, but the anticipation and slight wariness of saying the right thing remained.
You set your cup down on the coffee table and leaned into Luke slightly. He adjusted you so you were rested on his chest. I'm cuddling with Luke, you thought. I'm cuddling with Luke. You ignored the excitement in your chest and leaned in further.
