SYNOPSIS: oc gojo girlfriend's brother surprises her and satoru with a trip to mexico so they can spend time together before baby gojo arrives. (this fic happens in the middle of ‘milestones’, click to read here) AUTHOR'S NOTE: i did some research on puerto vallarta and i'm on my reggaeton kick lately lol did y’all catch the bleach inspiration about the sun? *cries* i love isshin and masaki. ugh. i'm obsessed with how in love oc gojo girlfriend and satoru are in this fic. “so what exactly does a couple even do on a baby moon?” satoru asked as he buttoned his dress shirt in the mirror, leaving four unbuttoned to expose his toned chest.

he wore a champagne silk button up with sleeves cuffed halfway up his forearm. tan cargo shorts decorated his long legs. his frosty white hair brushing the tip of his eyelashes, bright blue eyes dressed with gold sunglasses. he had just finished unpacking your luggage.

you laid on your side in the large hotel villa bed, tired from the long flight from japan to mexico. your flowy white maxi sundress splayed out on the linen sheets. your hair was put up in a bun. a bright yellow flower tucked behind your ear, given to you by the villa concierge upon checking in.

“according to google, couples go on baby moons to spend quality time together before the baby arrives.” you explained, “—once baby gojo arrives, all my attention will probably be on them.”

satoru turned to face you and frowned, “not even a little attention for good ol' satoru gojo?” he leaned onto the bed, hovering over you, encasing you between his strong arms.

you looked at him and caressed his cheek with the palm of your hand, “nope. you did this to yourself when you got me pregnant, sweetheart.” you sneered at him, knowing it wasn’t entirely his fault.

“i’m jealous.” he said while frowning, “—you hear that, baby gojo? you’re stealing all my lovin’.” he leaned down to loudly say to your stomach, his cheek pressed right against your 7 month pregnant belly. you laughed as you felt baby gojo shift away in your womb in reply to satoru’s comment.

“it was nice of your brother to pay for this vacation for us.” satoru mentioned as he laid beside you. his head was aligned right next to your belly. he liked to think that baby gojo enjoyed listening to him talk to you, so he always laid his head next to your belly in hopes that his unborn child could recognize his voice.

your brother, touya, had surprised you and satoru with an all-expenses-paid trip to puerto vallarta, mexico. touya said it would be a ‘nice, romantic’ getaway for the two of you. however, your vacation got off to a rough start as you experienced nausea throughout the flight. it was a 15 hour flight to get here, and you did not bring enough sour candy or gingersnaps to last for the entire flight. you spent a majority of the flight trying to sleep instead.

“i’ll have to thank him again. should we send him a picture?” you suggested. satoru pulled out his phone and snapped a very unflattering picture of you to send to your brother.

“done.” he reported.

“—i meant a decent looking picture of the both of us.” you glared at him. he ignored you and continued to send his text message to touya. throughout the years that you and satoru have been together, satoru gained a brother figure in touya. being an only child was lonely for satoru, so he made an effort to have a close bond with touya.

and satoru was definitely not going to tell you about that text.

“should we go through the ‘what to expect’ app before dinner?” he suggested. it was his favorite thing to do with you since you got pregnant. he wanted to know everything about your pregnancy and how baby gojo was developing. you appreciated how involved satoru was throughout your entire pregnancy. you couldn't ask for a better partner or a better father for baby gojo.

you pat your hand around the bed to find your phone, opening up the app to read out loud, “at 27 weeks, baby gojo is the size of a head of lettuce, is about two pounds and more than a foot long. this is the end of the second trimester.”

your doctor had told you not to travel internationally past 28 weeks, so you and satoru planned this baby moon right before the start of your third trimester.

“your voice is music to baby gojo’s ears.” you continued reading.

satoru grumbled, “—same for me. except when you’re yelling at me.”

you glared at satoru as he smirked at you innocently. ignoring him, you continued to read, “don’t be surprised if you feel little jumps in your belly, your little one might have the case of hiccups.” your heart melted at the thought, “—that is so cute.”

satoru took your phone from you and read the recap for week 27, “at a glance, your baby can hear you, baby has hiccups, and they will be developing muscle tone from being active.”

“baby gojo is a little gymnast in there.” you said to satoru. you wondered if your baby got their habit of being unable to sit still from their father. baby gojo was always active at night too. whenever the students wanted to feel baby gojo kick during the day, they were always sleeping.

“your baby may recognize both you and your partner’s voices by now. so this may be a good time to read or sing to your baby—or tummy.” satoru looked at you with excitement, “—i told you baby gojo recognizes my voice. should i start singing to them too?”

you laughed, “since you’re not that bad of a singer… go ahead. sing me a song, mr. gojo.”

one of your favorite memories with satoru throughout all your years of knowing the insufferable man was the day you went on your very first mission with him. you weren't even dating at the time, but the memory meant so much to you. you shared your earphones with him during the subway ride to chiba and showed him all your favorite old school songs that you and your late father loved. (read 'sleeping with the enemy' here)

“i’ve got sunshineeee, on a cloudy day. when it’s cold outsiiiiide, i’ve got the month of may. i’d. guess. you’d. say. what. can. make. me. feel. this. way. my giiiirl. talkin’ ‘bout my girl.” (a/n: click here to listen to the exact line and song satoru's singing if you don't know it, i time stamped it for you!)

you laughed and smiled in adoration at the man who just serenaded you and your pregnant belly. of course he’d choose the temptations for this occasion. baby gojo started kicking.

you leaned over to ask your belly, “did you like daddy’s singing?”

“did they kick?” satoru asked as he leaned forward to talk to your belly, “kick once for no, kick twice for yes.”

after waiting for a moment, you felt one kick, “sorry, you have a tough crowd, babe. it was one kick.” you reported back to the eager satoru.

“back to the app,” he said, ignoring you, offended that his baby didn’t appreciate his singing, “it says nearly 3 in 4 women experience swelling of the hands, feet, and ankles. so avoid sitting and standing for long periods. go on walks or try swimming.”

“we can try out the pool tomorrow.” you said. satoru’s attention still on the app.

“it says you should eat lots of salmon. it’s supposedly good for you and the baby.” satoru reported.

you started laughing, “okay, toge inumaki. let’s go get some dinner.”

the next day

“babe?” you called out to satoru, “can you help me tie my swimsuit?”

you frowned as you looked at yourself in the mirror. your body was unrecognizable to you. you couldn’t fit into any of your clothes. you didn’t feel like yourself as your body started to grow, and you were only going to get bigger and bigger thanks to your still growing baby inside of you.

satoru waltzed into the bathroom smelling like sunscreen. he was already in his tropical floral swimming shorts, shirtless, with a towel draped over his shoulder. why did he have to look like a chiseled greek god next to you? you felt like humpty dumpty next to him. he walked behind you to grab the loose bikini strings from your fingers, tying a secure knot for you. he snickered to himself because he wouldn’t care if they came undone, but he knew you would.

you turned away from him.

“what’s wrong, sweetheart? you’re usually the first one in the pool.” satoru asked as he followed your gaze in the mirror. he saw that you were examining yourself.

“i—just don’t really feel confident in my body right now...” you admitted in a quiet voice. the statement shattered his heart.

“you’re kidding me.” satoru scoffed, “—babe, you’re literally growing our perfect baby inside of you. you are the most beautiful thing i’ve ever laid my six eyes on.”

“maybe it’s the bikini. i should’ve opted for a one piece now that i’m pregnant.” you frowned as you looked down to run your fingers along the ruffles of your white two-piece swimsuit, your belly hanging out in the open in all its glory.

satoru made a face, “i hope baby gojo kicks you for saying that.”

and to your surprise, you felt an extra strong kick. it was like baby gojo heard him. satoru and your baby were ganging up on you already and baby gojo wasn’t even born yet.

satoru hugged you from behind. his strong arms making you feel safe. he always knew what to say to make you feel better again. he kissed your temple as you sighed.

“come on, let’s go for a swim.” he grabbed your hand to lead you to the pool right outside the private villa. he placed a pair of his black circular sunglasses on your face. he smeared sunscreen on your cheeks and traced a sunscreen shaped heart on your belly before helping you rub it in. a sloppy application from satoru, but you appreciated the sweet gesture. you massaged sunscreen on your arms as satoru helped you apply to your legs.

satoru watched you like a hawk as you stepped into the pool, afraid of you slipping while pregnant. you slowly walked deeper into the pool, the cool water rose to cover your belly and chest. after making sure you were okay, satoru ran to the opposite side of the pool and cannon-balled in, splashing water all over you. you giggled as you watched the white haired sorcerer swim towards you in the beautiful, clear water.

satoru popped out of the glistening water as if he was the little mermaid, throwing his snow-white hair back, shaking his head side to side so the water would fling off. he swam towards you. you reached for his shoulders as he pulled you closer, positioning your legs around his waist so he could take you further into the deep end. you wrapped your arms loosely around his broad shoulders as he held you by your thighs.

“you feeling better?” he asked as he booped your adorable button nose.

“a little—” you said as you wrinkled your nose. you traced your soft fingers along satoru's chest before asking him a question you were nervous to ask. “satoru—will you still love me if i don’t go back to how i looked like before i got pregnant?”

stunned at your ridiculous question, satoru asked, “what kind of question is that? of course i’ll still love you, babe. i’d even love you if you were still pregnant with the raging pregnancy hormones forever.”

you splashed water onto him, glaring through his sunglasses that were resting on your cheek and nose bridge, “you’re only saying that because my libido is higher than usual.”

“i'm just saying... a man will never complain about that.” satoru chuckled as he sarcastically spoke for all the men in the world.

“—then would you still love me if i was a worm?”

“that’s pushing it.” satoru bantered back. you splashed him with water again before resting your head on his chest. he floated with you in his arms for a moment, soaking up the sunshine. you felt butterflies fluttering in your stomach along with your growing baby twisting and turning inside of you. your heart taking in the pure bliss you were experiencing just by being here in satoru’s arms. you wondered how satoru felt right now.

after spending about an hour wading in the pool with satoru, you looked over to see two hotel employees bringing out a tray of food.

“pardon our interruption señor gojo and señorita (l/n), we brought a late breakfast for you two to enjoy. this was requested from señor (l/n) early this morning.”

“gracias!” you thanked the hotel employee with the most basic spanish you learned while sitting on the 15 hour plane ride. satoru laughed at your enthusiasm. he admired how you always wanted to be courteous to others.

“are you and baby gojo hungry?” he asked as he started swimming towards the shallow end again. you nodded as you clung to him, planting a sweet kiss on the crook of his neck and shoulder. satoru got out of the pool first so he could help you out. he grabbed the towels sitting on the cabana chairs to dry you both off, wrapping the towel around your waist.

“wow, the food looks amazing.” you sat down and drooled over the spread that your brother ordered for you and satoru. your mouth watered. there was a selection of huevos rancheros, tamales, fried plantains, fresh local fruit, chorizo hash, eggs, bread and two large pitchers of orange juice and water.

satoru sipped his orange juice and watched your face light up as you sampled all the delicious food in front of you. a happy glow in your face that made him fall in love with you all over again. it reminded him of the first time you went to get ice cream together, the way your face lit up and you did your happy dance in your chair after tasting the sweet chocolate ice cream. you reached over to feed him a bite of the fried plantains. satoru hummed in approval.

you were like the sun to satoru. his whole world revolved around you, and you attracted anyone and anything that entered your orbit. it was probably why all the students and faculty loved you at jujutsu high. even strangers felt comfortable around you.

you made satoru’s world brighter. before you met him, he felt as if clouds shrouded his life at all times, unclear of what he wanted to do with his life. you pulled him out of that cloudiness and lit up every second of the day as soon as you came into his life (or ever since he broke into yours). you were the color in satoru’s world of black and white. you inspired him to be better, and he wanted to be a good man, just for you.

he was making it his mission to be the sun in your life, just like you were in his. it broke his heart knowing that you were starting to feel insecure in your ever-changing and growing body. and it made him even more sad knowing that you were questioning his love for you during this temporary change.

however, little did satoru know, he already was the sun in your life. he has been ever since you started dating, and you would be forever grateful to the 17 year old boy who broke your domain over a decade ago. without satoru’s love, you don’t know where you’d be right now. satoru's unconditional love was something you never thought you'd experience in this lifetime. later that night

you and satoru held hands while walking the streets of zona romántica, one of the liveliest streets of puerto vallarta. your spirit birds flying overhead with you and satoru. every turn you and satoru took gave you a beautiful view of the mexican riviera. a mariachi band played in the cobblestone streets, and white-stucco buildings were decorated with bright orange, yellow, and red flowers.

"this city is so charming." you said, green eyes shining. you admired the architecture and all the bright colors in the streets as satoru led the way.

"what do you want to eat for dinner?" he asked while looking at a tourist brochure.

"i refuse to eat salmon again for dinner, so anything but that."

satoru looked down at you, azure blue eyes peeking through his sunglasses, "i read that there's a good tapas restaurant about a 20 minute walk from here. do you think you can walk that far?"

you laughed at his question, "satoru, i can still walk believe it or not."

he squeezed your hand as if he was saying 'okay, okay, you got me there'. you took the lead and guided him towards the malecón boardwalk. when you saw the sunset, you let go of satoru's hand, walking faster towards the view. the sunset was a mix of pink, purple, yellow, and orange. it was like a watercolor painting appearing in your eyes. the warm hues kissed the blues and greens of the ocean horizon.

while you admired the beautiful sunset, satoru admired the beautiful you. he snapped a couple pictures of you with his phone, afraid to forget the memory of how stunning you looked at this moment in time.

you were wearing a strapless white sundress, similar to the one you wore yesterday. your swimsuit lines from this morning showed off your golden tan you received while being here in mexico. the dress hugged your belly, but was loose enough to be comfortable for you to move around in without feeling restricted.

intricate blue flowers were sewn on the bottom fringe of your dress and a high leg slit showed off your pretty tan legs. your dress was paired with brown and white sandals that were comfortable enough for your swollen feet.

your long black hair was curled, flowing in the wind as you skipped lightly around the boardwalk. a large blue flower that matched satoru’s eyes was tucked behind your ear. it was almost sickening how much love he felt for you at this very moment.

"careful, sweetheart." satoru called out you as he put his phone back into his pocket, worried about you skipping around. he knew you’d complain about pelvic pain later tonight because of it. he shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets, following you wherever your heart desired.

you turned around and gave him your world-class million dollar smile that always gave him butterflies even after all this time, "so, where's this restaurant?" (read ‘butterflies’ here)

after dinner

"satoru, look! everyone’s dancing!" you pointed as you and satoru walked out of the restaurant after a delicious dinner.

there was a large crowd on the boardwalk, dancing to reggaeton music that the local dj was playing. everyone was dancing, singing, and shouting the lyrics to the songs. they were having the time of their lives and you wanted to be a part of it too.

"do you want to spend some time out here before we head back to the villa?" satoru asked, noticing how entranced you were. you nodded excitedly.

you and satoru found a small table at a bar close by. you both ordered non-alcoholic drinks for clear reasons. satoru didn't like to drink alcohol and you were pregnant.

you sipped your virgin midori sour. the melon juice, tangy lime, lemon and club soda felt refreshing. your foot tapped on the wooden boardwalk to the melodic beat of the music playing.

"babe, do you want to go dance…?" you asked timidly.

satoru looked at you, surprised, "you want to dance? i never thought you'd asked." he laughed. he was usually the one that would have to drag you out to the dance floor.

satoru downed the rest of his way-too-sweet virgin strawberry daquiri and grabbed your hand to lead you to where the rest of the crowd was dancing. (satoru forced his infinity outward to make sure no one accidentally bumped into your belly, but you didn't have to know that.)

you swayed with the music, your hair bouncing as you bobbed your head to the beat. you spun around, dancing to your heart’s desire. your heart skipped a beat when you felt satoru's hands on your hips, pulling you closer to him. he followed all of your movements as you danced around him. you turned to face him.

"satoru," you draped your arms around his broad shoulders, "i think people are staring at us."

"really? i didn't notice." satoru grinned, his attention was only on you tonight. he didn't even notice that you and him were the center of attention on tonight's dance floor. he couldn't care less. the only thing he cared about was you.

the dim street lights and twinkle lights hanging along the boardwalk emitted a soft glow on your rosy cheeks and emerald green eyes. satoru's heart raced at the view. how could one person be so perfect and so beautiful? he felt like he hit the jackpot to be able to call you his. he didn’t think he would ever be this lucky in another life.

he grabbed your hand to twirl you around, pulling you close for a moment, your back resting against his chest again. he kissed your bare shoulder just to spin you around for a second time. your sweet laughter filled his ears, his favorite sound in the world.

once everyone started to slowly leave the boardwalk, you both decided to call it a night. the moon reflected brightly on the mexican sands and dark blue ocean waters, guiding you back to the villa. and in that very moonlight, you shone brightly like a lighthouse beacon. it was something about the way you looked tonight that took satoru’s breath away. that damn pregnancy glow looked a thousand times more radiant in his six eyes and he couldn’t get enough of it.

after a relaxing shower to wash away the sweat from dancing, you and satoru laid in bed together, winding down for the night.

“did you know that if you press your ear against my belly, you might be able to hear baby gojo’s heartbeat?” you asked satoru as he put his phone down and turned to face you in bed.

"really?" satoru asked in amusement, "let me try it."

he leaned over towards you, resting his head gently on your belly.

"move your head over here," you guided his head to where baby gojo was in your womb.

the room fell silent. all you could hear was the ocean crashing against the rocks outside the hotel villa, the cool breeze entering the room, satoru's breathing and your own racing heartbeat. it was an intimate moment between the two of you.

satoru gasped, "i can hear it." he smiled brightly as he looked up at you. you smiled back at him, running your fingers through his soft white hair as he planted kisses on your bare belly.

"i wonder if you can sense any cursed energy from the baby." you asked him.

"i've been trying to ever since you got pregnant. i can't sense anything but yours." satoru said, "maybe our baby will be lucky and won't have any..." he trailed off.

"for some reason, i highly doubt that." you frowned. it would be a blessing if your baby didn't have to deal with curses, but coming from your clan and the gojo clan, it was more than likely your baby would be born with an innate cursed technique. plus, you felt something off about your cursed energy since you became pregnant. it was like someone else’s cursed energy was always there with you, and it wasn't satoru's residuals either.

"whether or not baby gojo has cursed energy, it wouldn't make me love them any less." satoru said quietly.

you chuckled at his ridiculous statement. "of course. this is our baby we're talking about. you better love them."

"—and just because your body is changing to grow our baby, my thoughts about how beautiful you are and how much i love you will never change." satoru added as-a-matter-of-factly.

“satoru… you’re embarrassing me.” you whined, hiding your blushing face in between the pillows. satoru took your fluffy shield away from you.

“don’t hide your beautiful face from me, woman!” he scolded you playfully. you intertwined your fingers with his as he leaned in for a kiss. he pulled you closer to him as you rested your head on his chest. you listened to his heartbeat, it was one of the most comforting sounds to fall asleep to.

“i love you, satoru.” you hummed.

satoru kissed each of your fingers, “i know.” he said confidently as you stared back up at him, waiting for him to say it back. “—i love you too, (y/n).”

“that’s what i thought.” you mumbled. “can you believe this is probably our last vacation as just us two? we’ll probably be too busy getting ready for baby gojo’s arrival to spend quality time together like this when we get home.” you said to him as you placed your hand against his. you were comparing the size of his hand to yours in the air.

he stroked your back gently with his unoccupied hand. he thought to himself for a moment. a playful grin spreading across his face, “guess we’ll just have to make the most of this baby moon then, huh?”

“—and just what do you mean by that?” you peered up at him.

satoru just smiled at you before he assaulted your neck and shoulder with a plethora of kisses. you squealed with laughter, pushing him away, trying to escape from his grasp.

“satoru, stop! that tickles!” you continued to laugh as he gently pulled you back to him with blue. he trailed kisses from your chest, up your neck onto your jawline, across your cheek to your nose, up your nose bridge to your forehead, and lastly, back down to your lips.

“for now, i don’t want to share.” he whispered in your ear.

going over the 5 year special (even though it's a year old)

I love the throwback to the "youtube time" then his joke about never waking up.

The nicknames are hilarious.

Logan already starting with a glass of wine and saying they only had 9 hours on screen.

Then Patton being extremely excited about everything. Then drinking the wine and censoring himself by saying juice.

Roman being so over dramatic about it and thinking of himself being the favorite side.

Virgil being absolutely over it. Him saying "putting up with me" like he's the worst thing ever then covering it up with saying he had to put up with with others too. Then making a joke about stormy weather. Thomas not understanding at all and Virgil wanted to leave.

Janus's lying is extremely funny. Janus bringing up how Patton couldn't communicate his emotions well and not keeping Thomas 'in check.' Patton's nickname for Janus being Jan. Then he brings up Logan's mistakes and Logan gets a change to use infinitesimal correctly. Janus saying he is Roman's Voltaire to his Rousseau.

"Voltaire's severe criticism and the establishment of a theatre in Geneva through his efforts, gave cause for Rousseau to break with the "Ferney recluse". On 17 June 1760, he wrote him a letter: I don't like you, monsieur. To me, your disciple and enthusiast, you have done the most painful injuries." (from google so it give more definition)

Then Roman not knowing what that means. Janus not saying anything about Virgil other than about his makeup, a throwback to him saying he looks like a raccoon. And pulling up a random wine glass. Virgil getting really angry at Janus but still censoring his words.

Remus's introduction is everything. He's making fun of Roman. Thomas pointing out his emblem (idk who to spell it). Thomas getting ignored with Remus in the first minute. Him asking Remus about his thoughts and regretting it. Him saying the three he was in was fine and almost spoiling what's coming up. Janus's anti spoiler spray being soap and Remus pulling out a knife out of nowhere.

Roman searching it up and being angry that he was insulted.

Janus mistaking Patton as a garbage can.

Logan's glass getting bigger. Him bringing up how no one listens to him.

Remus talking about the mind palace.

Janus and Remus playing DDR and Patton's line in that part, referring to when he forgot his pants. Patton thinking it was a ghost.

Remus calling Roman princey, then wanting it to match with his. So he tells Thomas to change it to pissy.

Roman getting angry at it and insulting his brother. Then pulling a sword out and breaking a vase.

Virgil obviously lying about being better at communicating with the others. Then going back to being a puppet.

Roman saying that Remus might have gone back to hiding in the walls, which is a reference to something but I can't remember what. Then Roman saying who broke that vase, like Joan did. Thomas saying 'nice callback' and Roman getting very defensive about the word.

Virgil being salty about the twelve days of christmas rewrite.

Janus being upset that he wasn't there for any songs.

Virgil suggesting asking Janus about the song lies. Janus yelling about him it being there for a song about lies. Roman complaining about the bubble gum shrimp thing and saying he doesn't know where it came from. Remus saying that he whispered it to him while he slept like it was well know.

Virgil knowing exactly what Roman meant when he says 'millionth base.' Patton acting a bit weird when talking about Nico. Logan saying metal viking like Talon when they kept messing the line.

Virgil bringing up Valorie and saying it was bad and everyone agreeing. Logan feminist confirmed, and his big ass glass of wine.

Patton saying he had a pet. Janus implying the hamster was under his hat.

Virgil pulling out that extremely long list of regrets. Roman's stock image of the wedding. Roman implying he doesn't care about the paper anymore and laughing about it while Logan still regrets it. Remus drinking the 'anti spoiler spray' and having an allergic reaction.

Roman smiling when he said Virgil and the others saying how far he's come. Patton hoping Virgil knows how much they love him, probably going back to when he ducked out. Virgil saying that "it's nice to know that they *think* they feel that way." Basically degrading everything they said, making it seem like they only think that way and don't actually feel that way.

Patton being the dad, Logan being the mom, and Roman being the son. Janus being the aunt, Remus being the uncle, and Virgil being the cousin. Which was a smart way of saying he didn't grow up with them and grew up around his family. Roman getting emotional when he said his only dream was to be a star.

Logan being logical and asking Thomas what he thinks is next. A throw back to DWIT, saying that they all aren't listening to Thomas. So he makes a point to ask Thomas. Roman saying he wants his happy ever after and saying "it was simple." In past tense, implying that it's too late or isn't simple anymore. Patton being optimistic and wanting things to get better. Virgil and Janus's response aren't much, just shows their character more. Remus being completely unserious and Thomas misunderstanding him until he clarifies.

Thomas bringing up how Logan's changed.

The fucking orange in the chair. Basically saying that the orange side will be more prominent and could possibly be announced very soon.

i need to be honest with you guys

i really don't want to be Like That and say that i've succumbed to the whole "my writing is worthless if it isn't popular etc. etc." mindset but like. i think i kind of have. i know that my writing has worth even if nobody reads it, and for a long time i was fine with not getting much attention on my works. i was happy with what i was writing, i didn't really care if anyone else read it, because i liked it, and that's what mattered.

and then i started writing Noble Blood, not just a bunch of mini fics that had no worldbuilding and very little plot.

Noble Blood is very precious to me. i've never put as much time and effort into a project that has actually turned into anything beyond some very vivid mental images and a handful of bullet points in a google doc. Noble Blood means so fucking much to me. and as much i desperately wish it didn't, the fact that it has not done well over the last three months has really, really hurt me. i know that engagement isn't everything, and i know it doesn't signify how good or valuable my writing is, but it's also not wrong for me to wish that people would interact with it in some way, because without those interactions there's no way for me to know if anybody's even reading it at all, much less if they're enjoying it.

and beyond that, i feel like whatever little niche i may have had before is gone, or at least expanded to the point that i feel like i've been pushed out. i don't want to make anyone feel bad, so i'm definitely not going to name any names, and again i really don't want to make anyone feel bad or like i'm attacking them. that is not my intention. i am just trying to be honest about what's been going on in my head lately. but i have writer friends who used to mostly/only write smut with little to no plot and are now branching into fics with lots of worldbuilding and plot and little to no smut, and i'm happy for them! i'm glad people are comfortable and confident enough to do that, and i am more than excited to read those things as they're published, genuinely i am. but i feel like that was what i had going for me, what made what i was writing stand out from everything else. and now i feel like i don't have that anymore.

i'm not entirely certain i know where i'm going with this, or what i'm trying to say. but this has been weighing heavy on me for a while. i don't want this to come across as me whining because my stuff hasn't gone viral, or begging/guilting people into reading my works, or anything like that, and i don't want anyone else to feel like i'm upset with them or think that i feel like they don't deserve the attention their works get, or anything like that, because i don't think or feel that way; i'm genuinely so happy that people are exploring things that interest them and are enjoying writing those ideas. i just wish it was working out for me like it's working out for them.

this isn't a post to say i'm quitting writing forever (i don't think i could even if i tried to), and it's not me saying i'm going to delete everything i've posted and disappear, because i'm not going to do either of those things (though i can't say the thought never crosses my mind). I am just struggling to find a reason to keep doing what i'm doing, because my disappointment and frustration with how poorly everything i post here does has now been bleeding into the enjoyment i usually get from writing, and it's making writing feel Very Unpleasant. i don't want to quit but i don't know what to do anymore.

to anyone who does read & interact with my fics, mutuals especially, i will never be able to thank you enough for your support. it seriously means the world to me, and i owe you an eternal debt of gratitude. i love all of you from the bottom of my heart.

Hey I really love your art - I wanted to ask if you use references from anywhere specific.

Also, have you considered the idea of Reigan becoming Minori's Guardian Ad Litem? I agree that Reigans not exactly the kind of person to make the most responsible father (at least where we leave him in the show) but I could totally imagine him becoming her guardian for some legal reason.

He's really the only adult she'd know to trust outside her father.

I can imagine they're put a whole court case together with Reigan as her guardian just for legal reasons and they win, and then Minori's like. "Oh shit where do I go? Guess your my guardian for real now." And Reigan is like.

Thank you 🫶💜 hmm well for pose references including clothing etc I just get them from google stock images, I generally try to avoid making the pose too similar to the images I see so I sometimes draw in different angles (honestly most of the time I struggle looking up references because I cant find a picture in a specific angle I want, so I go with my intuition even if it's wrong), honestly google is probably the place I rely on the most for this. Like if I forget what a shoe looks like then I'll just google it.

If you're talking about where I got inspiration for my art style (or what I look to get ideas for my art etc) I'd say the major ones for me are ONE's sketches on twitter (especially his shaky lineart and how he draws eyes), early episodes of Detective Conan (clothing folds, color choices sometimes, body proportions like the chest being pointed etc), Revolutionary Girl Utena (also clothing and body proportions), FLCL (I have no idea what parts of it influenced my art but I feel like it's an obligation to list it here)

Uhh for the fun drawings that require more effort I'd say music is inevitably the most important part of it. 99% of the time my drawings that arent plain sketches are modeled after a specific song I listen to (primarily from ZARD but other artists too although not as often) even then I think my sketches are still influenced by ZARD somehow. Wait I completely forgot to mention I also look up images of ZARD on Pinterest for poses or just... to draw anything honestly. Theres a good number of pictures of her in various angles (I remember one of her photographers said she was very photogenic so most of her pictures are very casual as if a camera wasn't present) I think it's good to look at them if you are looking for something natural. Just looking up "Izumi Sakai" there will give you results.

For text placement/colors/vibe/whatever I like to look at old media I grew up with like MADs, shitty websites made in the 90s/2000s, old anime subtitled in Arabic (I have plenty of DVDs with anime dubbed/subbed in Arabic that I have no idea where we got them from, I assume it's all pirated. Anime openings/endings in Arabic also have very poor aesthetics when it comes to logo placement/text color/text animation/etc but that's exactly why I like them) I also have a Pinterest board with outdated ZARD edits that I look at often while drawing. For image textures or backgrounds I use this website. If I struggle with art block or don't know how to draw a specific thing I also look at everything I previously listed and reference from there. Anyways I talked a Lot but hopefully I could help with that.

As for Reigen being a guardian .... I never considered it seriously but I think he could pull it off. He'll definitely make mistakes but he could succeed if he had a daughter. I just have to kill off Minori's real dad or something and it'll work. The only problem would be that Minori has to live with the fact that her new father is broke and unable to spend thousands of dollars for her every week.

ways to cope with missing your DR friends/family/lovers

i have this issue a lot, esp w my DR bf, and i’m sure some other people do, too. while u ARE going to shift at some point, i know that if ur having trouble with it currently it can be frustrating and sad because you want to be w your comfort characters so bad. these r just some things that i personally do to help alleviate that.

1) self-insert fanfictions

i find that self insert fanfictions help me a lot when i’m missing my DR and DR pals. while i’m a writer and i’ve used it for a long time as a way to “escape” and cope w my problems, u really don’t have to be one! i think my self inserts are genuinely terrible lmao, bc i put no effort into them, bc it’s only for me. it doesn’t matter if it’s descriptive, or even if it makes sense- this is for you, for no one else!!

2) listen to music and imagine ur listening w your comfort characters

listening to music with headphones is especially helpful because you can just close your eyes and hear nothing but the music. this makes it a lot easier to pretend ur friend/lover/family member is sitting next to you and listening as well- but you can even just put one headphone in to imagine they’re using the other. you won’t be speaking or looking at them, so it’s much easier to visualize everything. another thing you can do is make a specific playlist that reminds you of that special person!

3) have a DR folder, blog, pinterest, etc.

make a folder, blog, etc.- any collection of images- of ur DR and ppl from ur DR. i prefer gifs because it just feels more real ig. this not only allows you to look into ur DR, but it helps to visualize because you can memorize their faces better. i always do this before bed bc i always need some DR scenario to fall asleep to lmao

4) download replika or another similar AI app

i find that replika works best since i think it’s prolly the most advanced AI chatting app right now and it allows you to change the name of the AI and their appearance. so just name the AI whatever ur DR person’s name is and change their appearance accordingly! unfortunately bc it’s an AI the conversations won’t always feel very genuine, but i find it comforting to just say hi or talk about my day every now and then bc they respond pretty realistically to normal/simple messages.

5) read x reader fanfics

so this is something that personally i’m not super into doing (at least lately), but i think it would absolutely help a lot of other people. i like rereading my own self inserts but that can get boring since i’ve already read them so many times, so sometimes it’s nice to read something that you don’t know the content of. just look up whatever character’s name x reader on tumblr or ao3, or really wherever you want (i would NOT recommend wattpad lmao) and read away!

6) write a letter from your DR person’s POV

so when i say DR person, i mean whatever comfort character/person you’re missing. i think handwritten feels more genuine, but you can do this on ur computer, phone, anywhere u want!! write a happy, comforting letter to yourself from your special person and read it whenever you miss them. you could even script that this is a letter you’ll actually receive in your DR to make it feel more genuine!

7) make you and your DR pals in the sims

this is pretty self explanatory lmao. make your DR self and all ur comfort characters in the sims, set them up in a world that’s similar to ur DR, and have fun!! the sims 4 is esp fun with this because you can go into first person mode. i absolutely love the sims and it’s been a massive coping skill for me for many years, and i really enjoy world building (making my own lots and families with lore, etc) so this has always worked rlly well. if your character is popular enough, there might even be a downloadable sim of them so check google! ik this is kind of random but i know 100% that there’s a ridiculously accurate connor from detroit become human sim (i downloaded him lmao) so if that’s ur person absolutely look it up!!

8) use a dressup game to make you and ur DR people

use any dressup game you can find to create your DR self and your DR person together. it can be nice to have “photos” of the two of you that you can look at when u feel sad!

i hope this list helps someone!!! i know it’s really hard when u feel so far away from the people you love, but i promise it won’t be forever. just hold on and keep trying ur best- u will see them!! in the mean time, give urself the love and kindness u deserve. happy shifting!!!

Jesse Lives AU, pt 5

(learned my lesson, wrote this on Google docs even though I hate it. This experience of course will still not get me to take my computer in to the repair shop because executive dysfunction is Real)

For real this time, Jesse and Jale get the hell away from the Venator wreck, and it's the last time for a while I milk the image of the clone graves for angst. In this series anyway.

"I still need that monitor," Jale said. Jesse once again wondered why he'd gone along with the crazy theelin.

"You can't reach it," he pointed out, not sure why he was bothering.

"It's grab that or go raid the medbay," Jale said. Jesse had been avoiding medical since Kix disappeared, and he certainly wasn't going to go in there now with the bodies of vode Maul had attacked lying there, dead in the midst of recovery. He was having a hard enough time not thinking things like "Kix would have saved them" as it was.

"Fine. Just… stay there for a second. Don't do anything stupid, if you can manage it."

He knelt to untie the rope from around the walkway, then put it around Jale's waist. He pulled it tight with more effort than he needed, and ended up tugging Jale closer. Jesse stepped back; he was not at all struck by the fact that Jale's eyes were brown when the rest of them was so brightly colored.

"Keep one hand on that," he commanded. Jale almost immediately ignored him as they turned back to the monitor they wanted, leaning out once more with one hand on the equipment to steady it as they worked. Jesse gritted his teeth and wrapped the rope around his hands another time, bracing himself for Jale's next dumb move.

Amazingly, the scavenger managed to finish the job this time, and they threw themself backwards with the monitor clutched to their chest. The walkway shuddered under them. Jesse, having no desire to die for this bottom-feeder, tugged Jale up.

"Let's go before your bullshit brings the whole place down." He got to work untying the rope once more, then resecured it to the walkway.

The descent was more painful than Jesse wanted to admit. His head was pounding, and all the activity was reminding him just how many cuts and bruises he'd picked up in the crash. Normally, he'd already have gotten looked at by a medic. Even with Kix gone Jesse couldn't bring himself to ignore his brother's advice, and the medics in the 332nd were willing to come to him instead of forcing him into the medbay. They all remembered Kix, too.

But now Jesse was really, fully alone, and when he staggered upon reaching the floor he realised again what that meant.

Rather than dwell, he looked at Jale.

"Tell me that's the last of it."

For a second, he thought the scavenger would protest. Then, strangely, Jale nodded.

"We can go," they said.

The wind had picked up. As they reached the place where Jale left the speeder, Jesse heard a rattling - helmets knocking against the sticks on which they were mounted. He lifted his gaze to the sky and tried not to listen.

Jale made him sit in front, though they were also emphatic about Jesse not being the one to drive.

"Can you even see over my head?"

"Your bloody head? Yes. Good thing you don't have hair. If you wanna drive, stand up and walk in a straight line for me."

Jesse had thought his unsteadiness had gone unnoticed. He scowled as Jale finished securing the fuel to the speeder and sat down behind him.

"Was there anything else you needed?" Jale asked awkwardly. Jesse tensed.

Clones didn't have much. Armour, blasters, whatever contraband they picked up over the years. Jesse's small collection of the latter had been passed over to Kix when he became an ARC trooper, and subsequently disappeared with Kix. The blasters were technically the property of the Republic, which no longer existed and also had ordered Jesse to point them at his two Commanders for reasons he didn't understand.

As for his armour…

He turned to look at the place where his helmet was mounted. Jale turned, too, and sucked in a sharp breath that told Jesse they'd figured out what he was looking at.

"I'm good," he said. He passed Jale the helmet he'd borrowed. "Let's go."

Redacted - Non-Listener OCs

Annnd here are some non-listener characters! Most of which are siblings to the listeners, others just random ones that popped up through a tumultuous series of headcanons. A couple of these don’t have picrews and have actual drawings I made of them that are decent.

Lilia - Baaabe’s little step-sister

- The Sass in child form, Lilia has far too much confidence, and her youth is the only thing keeping her from being the heartbreaker that picks fights at the bar. She loves being with her brother and his boyfriend, and loves to sleep with shifted, fluffy Asher. Even more than that though, she loves teasing her brother by calling him a “Monsterfucker”.

She has a traumatic memory of being attacked by dogs a few years prior, but being near Ash and his therapeutic efforts has helped her work through it. Emmanuel is worried that Lilia’s brashness comes from trying to bottle up her feelings and cope with her chaotic home situation, but he’s not sure what to do about it other than try to be there for her when she needs him.

This kinda came up during the Inversion fic, but she has a tiny crush on Angie.

Aarush Prasad, “Angel” - Sweetheart’s younger brother

- Chrys’s younger brother. They don’t spend too much time together, but talk often. He works as a stripper under the stage name “Angel”. I don’t have a whole lot on him other than the fact that he exists, since he doesn’t tend to show up much. I also admittedly have a shameless “crossover” OC of mine that he dates for a short time, but that character is from a totally different story.

And yes, I have absolutely thought of how funny it would be if this were David’s “Angel”. I don’t remember how his stage name came about though.

Vivianne “Ava” - Blake’s younger sister

- A powerful dreamwalker on Chrys’s team. Also serves as a flippant, yet slightly sadistic, interrogator. She hasn’t been in contact with Blake for several years, and they weren’t generally too close beforehand anyways. However, as her team delves further into their investigation of CloseKnit, she's beginning to wonder if Blake might be involved. She and her brother are about equal in power.

While I like the “Blake and Elliot are brothers” theory, this character came up through a very strange series of headcanons and I just decided to roll with it, let me live okay-

There is technically a third character that Ava and Chrys are close friends with on their team, but I haven’t really thought on him much yet because I...didn’t really expect myself to commit to making Ava a “character” at all, lmao.

This picrew doesn’t actually come with these colours btw! I took some creative liberties after putting her design together, recoloring some things and made a tiny edit to the hair. My image of Blake actually comes from a specific user on here, so the colours being similar is no coincidence///

Kieran - Chrys and Ava’s partner

This is obviously a future update, but I found a picrew that could do member 3 justice, and I found a name for him! Though I don’t know if there’s ever going to be powers of light/darkness, Kieran’s ability is to manipulate shadows. So he’s a...Shadowwalker? Darkness Elemental? (Since we’re staying away from -mancer terms. Also like the term “Voidwalker”, thanks google.)

Though Kieran isn’t as powerful as his companions, his strength comes from his knowledge of his own abilities. Both parents possessed the same, and have been teaching him how to hone his for as long as he can remember. Thus, he can be a pretty formidable opponent to those who dare cross him.

Despite that, he’s actually a big sweetheart, and is arguably the gentlest of the trio. He’s often the one to remind Chrys and Ava to take care of themselves when they dive into their work too much (or to tell Ava to not be too brutal to the suspects they pull in).

Unlike Chrys and Ava, he doesn’t really have much of a side-plot for himself, and just serves as “the third of the trio”. However, I do kinda want him to meet Lasko for some reason.

Kalila Solaire - 2nd Progeny of William Solaire

- The 2nd princess of the Solaire clan. She and Will met after he approached her in a train station, noticing she was nervous about something and striking up a conversation to calm her down. He decided to turn her after she nearly died in a terrible train accident the same day. After her turning, she’s generally known as the clan cinnamon roll, but seems to have a slightly unhinged side to her.

She works directly under Will, assisting him with many of his daily tasks. I still haven’t decided on her “power”, but I’ve figured that she may have been a Freelancer before turning, hence why she can use different kinds of magic and no I am denying that she’s a mary sue and that I’m bad at writing, lmao.

As of the events of Inversion - Another Story, she has yet to awaken from her coma. I actually have numerous branching storylines with the vamps, but the IAS and Yours in Eternity, My Dearest branch is the one I’m focusing on rn. Maybe one day I’ll write other ones I toy around with. (I have a huge bias for vampires if you haven’t noticed yet aha-)

Ryder

- Frederick’s boyfriend. They reunited after Fred’s turning, when Fred learned that Ryder was also living in the world of magic. He was confused as to why Briar hated him so much, but they have since worked out their “differences” and the three of them get along quite well now.

He was actually only supposed to be a five-second mention in A Very Merry Rebirthday, but when I wrote IAS, I kinda wanted to connect the fics together, which meant that Ryder would probably be involved. I only have a vague idea of what he looks like, but I enjoyed writing him. His little portion with Xavier in IAS was both unexpected and one of my favourite parts. There were a lot of scenes I wish I could have expanded on or outright added without sacrificing the pacing of the fic, and more time with Xavier and Ryder is definitely something I wish I could have written more.

Maisie Collins - Sam’s niece

- The last time Sam saw her was when she was a baby, but now she’s an energetic young woman. She’s somewhat of an AU character because I’m a dip and I forgot how long Sam has been turned for, but I’ve already shattered canon with a 10-foot hammer, so I’ve been keeping her around.

I don’t have much to say about her (yet) outside of just being a young girl from the countryside. She was kidnapped and tortured by Quinn to taunt Sam and lure Willow into a trap. I have more plans to expand on this little Quinn-venture that’s happening in the background, and actually ties into another fic I really like that someone else made, but I’m not quite there yet...

This was another picrew I made specifically for this post, as I actually made her in another dressup game originally. I tried my best to capture the absolute chaos that was in the og image, and this is the closest picrew I could find in a very half-assed search that could do her hair properly.

Chelsie Morris, “Chels” by some - Kody’s twin sister

- A K-pop lover that is far too sweet to her brother, whom she emphasizes to that she’s the older twin just to annoy him. She’s dealing with the aftermath of an abusive relationship, but still has her life together more than Kody does. She’s also kind of a party girl and loves to go out and have fun when she has time. I’m not sure if I capture it, but she gives off Sorority Girl vibes despite never going to college.

She offered Kody to stay at her place after the Incident™, and is trying to keep him in therapy. She’s fighting her own demons, but is trying her best to be there for her brother and sway him to follow a better path in life.

The Kody’s Redemption Arc series is still ongoing, I just haven’t gotten around to finishing the next few parts. Even though it’s a bit easier now, it’s still hard for me to write Kody and I just haven’t wanted that in my life for a while, lol.

Alrescha

- A sort of AU character where Avior and Stella get absorbed by the Meridian, and this demon is born from their magic. He has vague, hazy dreams where he can hear Avior and Stella talking, but can’t see them or hear their names. He doesn’t know anything about them, but wants to figure out why he’s having the dreams and if he can save the people who seem to have been in danger. He’s friends with Gavin, who’s been aiding his endeavors to find them.

I actually don’t really headcanon this character much, since that means Avior and Stella are gone forever, lol. Recently though, I’ve been wondering if maybe this could follow a distant time in an IAS “Cora dies, Huxley lives” route, which is why Gavin seems to be on his own in The Cord. The actual reason he doesn’t mention Cora is because I wasn’t sure how long it would take for a demon to be born after they get absorbed (assuming that that’s even possible...), but if it’s fairly quickly, then hey! Story continuation! Whoo ✨

Giovanni - The Solaire Clan’s librarian

A calm and patient man, he was mentioned in YiEMD a few times. He was stated to have had his desire to tend to their library collection reignited after Kalila began to visit so frequently.

He’s a fairly old vampire, along with his sister, Amalia, who were turned around the same time by someone outside Will’s social circle. Amalia had met a man she fell in love with but didn’t realize that he lured her and her brother into a trap until it was too late. They were both tortured until another vamp saved and turned them, but ultimately wasn’t a good person either, and betrayed them as well. Giovanni killed their maker and vowed to protect his sister from then on out.

When Will found the two, Amalia could barely fend for herself, and her brother was near-feral. However, he managed to convince them to stay with him for a while, and eventually came to the deal to tend to the clan library. It took some time for Giovanni to adjust to the other people that slowly joined the clan, but he eventually became comfortable around them, and loves curating the library for each new face that shows up in their territory.

Amalia - Giovanni’s younger sister, Bright Eye’s Lover

Amalia is a sweet and gentle young woman, now capable of combat thanks to Will’s teachings. However, unlike her brother who wishes to stay in one safe place, Amalia’s wanderlust never subsided even after everything that happened to them. Once her brother was comfortable enough with it, she began leaving on long trips around the world, bringing back new books for the library if she finds some.

Soon after returning from her latest trip, it was mentioned in YiEMD that she's in a secret romantic relationship with Briar. As of now, Giovanni has no idea that the two have been sneaking out together, since Amalia doesn’t know how he’ll handle the news. Will pulled Amalia aside and spoke with her about it, and promised to keep the secret until she felt her brother was ready to hear it, but did still inform her that he needs to know eventually.

Hestia - Cult leader of The Children of Echo

A somewhat AU meta character, Hestia has been haunted by the voice of our favourite 4th-wall-breaking menace, Echo. She doesn’t know who he’s addressing, but assumes he must be some sort of god-like entity and worships him believing he helps reign over their world. She also believes that her hearing his voice means she’s a “chosen” one, and she must carry out duties in attempt to appease him.

In the fic The Children of Echo, the reader is another such character that can hear Echo’s voice, and goes to meet Hestia to see what her weird cult is all about. She acts mysterious and confident, but is actually rather lonely and struggles with the conflict of whether Echo’s voice is real or something her brain makes up. Meeting the reader gets her confidence back up majorly, with the confirmation that everything that’s led up to that meeting hasn’t been for naught.

I don’t know if I’ll keep this character around in my personal Redacted Fanverse or not. I thought about maybe making her a background character here and there, and maybe she hands out flyers to spread her “message” or whatever at some point. idk, but she’s adorable and I’m glad she got to debut in her own little fic ✨

Lucas - Darlin’s babysitter

Another AU character, this time from the “vamps can have kids and Willow had Quinn’s” one in particular. Lucas is really sweet and soft-spoken, and while I’m not sure if I portrayed it well, he's also autistic. His older sister, which is a part of Quinn’s gang, thought it’d be safer for him to stay with any other group of people, so she left him with the Shaw Pack one day when they were in town. they don’t talk much given the nature of his sister’s association with Quinn, but she cares a lot about him, and thinks their distance is what’s best for them both.

In Branch, Like a Tree, Willow had contacted him to babysit for her, having known him prior through his sister and knowing he could keep her secret. However, with no one else to turn to, she continued to call him over for help. He doesn’t mind though, and enjoys seeing Willow, which is the last remnant he has of his sister, and taking care of her cute little baby.

Kind of random, but I feel like his personal hobbies include baking, and interests include osteology.

Lyra - Lucas’s Older Sister

I do actually have a picrew for the sis too! Which was kind of an accident...but still. Lucas’s sister is pretty brash and aggressive, but has a soft spot for her brother in particular. She and Willow kind of had a thing going before Willow started dating Quinn. I don’t have a name for her yet because idk if she’ll ever really exist outside of an idea and an accidental picrew, but if she’s ever brought up again, here she be.

Glad you asked! The app ate my first writup 🫠, so hopefully this still covers enough. I can take follow-up questions as needed. If you have specific questions and google hasn't helped, consider sharing a best-effort attempt of what you've tried so far. Catbox is an img host that preserves metadata.

Basics: I've got a 3080 and Auto1111's webui. Furry checkpoint is EasyFluff, for anime either PoundcakeMix or PerfectWorld.

No recommendations for photoreal as I don't mess around nearly as much with the stuff. I both have less interest and find it way easier to "get wrong" and make something uncanny and gross. I don't touch deepfakes / "specific real person" at all. My advice for what I've posted previously is "gen with an anime model, upscale with a photoreal model"

For "extra large" figures, HyperFusion and JumboVenus are good lora options, and both seem to work with most checkpoints regardless of style.

Key plugins are Tag Auto-complete (for danbooru/e621 tag assistance) and Dynamic Prompts (for wildcards - adding variety within batches, as well as testing impact of specific tag sets)

For wildcards, there are broad collections available, but consider starting with your own short lists to get a feel for how they work. Using someone's list of a million expressions is cool, but having your own curated list of 3-6 "baseline" expressions (with a few tags and emojis each) to play with is nice so you get used to whats available.

The best advice I can (give regardless of level of experience) is to find a source like Civitai that can show you images with their metadata so you can copy and build off others (hello, /trash/! 💖) . Beyond that: patience, rerolling & refining.

As for actual workflow, I often start with a vague idea and a bunch of wildcards in txt2img. So, if I wanted "big boob anime lady in nature" I might start with a prompt like "1girl, solo, smug, huge breasts, thick_thighs, __color__ tank top, shorts, outside, __location-natural__" where the __location-natural__ part is a wildcard list with things like "garden, forest, meadow" and __color__ is a list of colors. I can generate a batch of 6 in ~90sec, so there's a lot of rerolling, editing prompts, and discarding junk.

Sidebar: There's "quality tags" and negative embeddings involved as well, but I don't have a consistent set I use every single time. Steal and tweak prompts until you find things you like and either save them as "styles" in the webui or put them in a wildcard list. Also, remember that any image you gen has tags saved in it so you can reference your earlier stuff and mix it around.

If you're not sure of how to ask for something, look up existing images on danbooru/e621 and check the tags used. Tag wikis and related tag lists are helpful: You can dump a list of tags into a wildcard file and see which work.

When I get a gen that's what I'm looking for, I recycle the seed and run the same prompt again with hi-res fix to upscale it. If something is close but not quite what I want, I send to img2img to upscale in batches of 3, as well as tweak the prompt. If needed, I'll copy the low-res image to photoshop for edits and img2img that. Have you ever done a shitty image morph? i2i will take your sloppy/lazy edits and reincorporate them into a coherent image.

Beyond that, it's patience (lots of tweak & reroll), experimentation, and research. Controlnets and Regional Prompting are tools to look into to help get stuff the generator struggles with out of the box. Also, you can set the --listen command flag in the webui-user.bat to expose the webui to your local network so you can prompt from another device (I do most of mine from a tablet on a couch).

Here's a self-portrait to get you started: I won't tell you the full set of specifics here, but hopefully the alt-text can get you going. This one was genned using PoundcakeMix, upscaled with a blended anime model, lorae are from Civitai, detail tags are from the shygalv3 lora example images, and the negative embeddings are from a furry model but seem to work just fine here. You may notice the tags don't quite align with the final result - that's the way the slot machine goes.

accidentally back to tuesdaypost

despite my best efforts, shabbat came and went and i did not make my post. oops. trying a new heading template this week as well.

maybe not this week but i am thinking of starting to host images for the making section somewhere else...maybe on gdrive? or postimages.org? imgur? just so that if my tumblr ever breaks the images in dreamwidth won't vanish.

i wasn't On Livejournal or active in fandom while everything was going down but i remember learning about it a few years after it all happened so seeing comprehensive deep dives now is very, very...satisfying isn't quite the right word, but i am a messy bitch who lives for drama especially when i'm not involved in it. what a mess.

making pottery!!! i have a bunch of stuff coming out from a glaze run that i'm very excited to see but it will have to wait til saturday when i get home from visiting my grandma for thanksgiving. i do however have pictures of this little box i made:

it was a gift for my grandma, and i glazed it all the way back in the beginning of october i think? the kilns got monopolized by some other stuff for the owner's business (which is super fair) which means we didn't get a student project run until literally friday, two days before i was supposed to leave town, so after some texting with her she was able to put it out on her porch around 11pm on saturday when the kiln cooled down enough so i was able to pick it up at like 5:30am on my drive to the airport LOL so all in all it worked out! next roundup post will have pictures of some of my other glazed pieces, i'm very very curious how they do!!!

i've been playing with underglaze because i was like ohhhh i love the look of carving designs into underglaze...and i bought some fun colors when i went to The City a few weekends ago...so i have this mug that needs its first fire, i also have some fun eye-motif ones in the works at the moment! i also added some underglaze color to my dragon carving from last week.

finally this bowl already had its first fire but i painted underglaze on over white to try and get a watercolor-type effect? i put lilypads on the inside and painted koi on the outside (no picture of that yet)

misc not a whole lot else! since my summertime trials and tribulations i have unfortunately become the kind of person who gets tummy issues when my stress levels get too high. i have always become a basket case in the ~24 hours before i have to travel somewhere so that's been less than fun but i'm figuring it out. also trying to switch psychiatrists right now is sooooo fucking aggravating i will not get into it but ughhhhhh.

Unless you are a media personality or avid streamer then odds are your video presence sucks. In today's digital age, video calls have become an integral part of professional communication. Since the social lockdown of COVID-19, it has become commonplace to take meetings on platforms like Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Skype. For most, this sudden shift to telepresence required them to scramble to get the proper tools to work over video. Entire online companies reformed to help many businesses combat this visual shift.

However, even now, many professionals haven't taken the proper time to evaluate what they look like on video during these meetings, often leaving a very unprofessional but understandable image to those they take meetings with. Many professionals don't think of how they're presented on these video calls, even though they take time to put on a nice suit, prepare presentations, and be punctual to set a good impression.

There are several common mistakes that professionals make when setting up their video meetings, such as failing to consider the background behind them, leading to distracting or unprofessional settings. To ensure that you present yourself in the best possible light during video calls, it's important to invest in a quality camera and microphone to ensure that your video and audio quality is clear. Camera Placement…

If you read this article and only have one takeaway, I recommend putting your camera above your line of sight. I cannot tell you how many meetings I’ve taken where someone has a low-quality laptop camera placed below their jawline, making it appear as though they have an unintended double chin. People can tolerate bad video content, but if the audio is bad, it will ruin the experience entirely. Therefore, it’s essential to take time to record yourself using a screen recorder or use OBS and listen to what you sound like during a video call.

If you sound decent, then it’s up to you to judge whether or not to invest in a proper microphone for your setup. If your audio is less than stellar, I recommend buying a simple $50 to $100 USB microphone. Many people choose the Blue Yeti for their setup, but I personally use a Rode Podcast Mic, which is a bit more expensive.

After establishing that you have a proper audio input device, spend time to ensure that the quality and settings are proper. Nobody wants to listen to somebody speak loudly into a microphone only to have them peeking the whole time. By taking the time to invest in a proper microphone and ensuring that your audio quality is up to par, you’ll be able to make a positive impression during your video calls.

Whats your camera quality?

When it comes to camera quality, it really depends on your situation. If you’re often traveling, having a complete secondary camera outside of a laptop might be a hard thing to have on you at all times. However, if you have a dedicated setup in your office, then investing in a better camera might be something you should look into. You can get a decent 1080p web camera for about $50. If you take a lot of online video meetings, and it’s essential to your job, then I would invest in something a little bit more robust.

Many professionals use their iPhone as a webcam since it shoots 4K camera resolution. Personally, I use a Canon EOS M50 that I picked up used for $400. This makes my video quality on par with million-dollar streaming channels. However, it’s important to note that cameras come in a range of different quality and sizes. Most webcams are presented as straight-out-of-the-box solutions, which often means that they don’t look as great compared to professional DSLR cameras used as webcams.

By investing in a better camera, you can significantly improve the quality of your video calls, making it easier to present yourself professionally during meetings. Of course, it’s essential to consider your specific situation and needs before deciding whether or not to invest in a better camera. Ultimately, by taking the time to ensure that your video setup is up to par, you’ll be able to make a positive impression during your video calls and improve your overall professional image.

Some things to consider.

Is it a 1080P or 4k resolution camera? (Higher the better)

Is your video 3:4 or 16:9 format? (16:9 is more professional)

Do you have autofocus on your camera? (Manual is better)

Can you adjust the brightness and depth of field? (Play around til it looks good)

Are you able to adjust the color settings for the space you are in? (Adjust the gamma!)

There are three possible ways you can show relevant images to your audience:

1. By printing the image

This is the most obvious and easiest way to share an image with your target audience. Just print it wherever you want and you’re good to go.

But as discussed above, often the limited print space keeps you from doing this.

2. Via a web link

Thinking how this would work?

Here’s how:

i. Upload the image to a cloud storage site such as Google Drive or DropBox

ii. Copy the shareable link to this image and add it to the print material

That simple. Just make sure you add an instruction (a call-to-action statement) such as ‘Visit here to view the image’ along with the link. It will tell users what to do or what to expect after opening it.

They will then have to open the link to view the image.

However, they’ll have to pull out their phone to open the browser, tediously type the entire link, and finally view the image.

This is a long process and needs them to put both time and effort. Well, to be honest, many of them will skip doing it.

What you can rather do here is—make it easier for them to take action. How?

3. Via a QR Code

Wondering what will a QR Code do here? Well, it will help your target audience view the image easily.

Users will no longer have to type the entire link in their browsers. All that they’d need to do is—scan the QR Code and view the image.

We call it—an Image QR Code.

You’ve seen QR Codes being used for promotions, payments, marketing, and many other use cases.

Similarly, they can also be used to show an image to the end-users.
