cod incorrect quotes #4
I did warn you that I have a ton of these :D
the usual jazz, mainly Y/N/reader stuff, platonic and romantic, also some suggestive stuff but I feel like that's a given with these dummies. Also has some Soapghost!
at some point, I feel like a masterlist might be useful.

Y/N: Made you all playlists! Y/N: Ghost, yours has only heavy metal, and is dark like your soul. Y/N: König, yours has sad songs and blues to pair with your crippling depression. Y/N: And Soap has the ABBA Gold album.
Price: For self-defense reasons, I'm going to pretend to be a burglar and you guys have to act wisely. Ghost, Soap, & Y/N: Okay. Price: If you don't want to die, give me all your money. Soap: Bold of you to assume I have money. Ghost: Bold of you to assume I don't want to die. Y/N: Bold of you to assume I can die.
Y/N: Subs are so fun to play with. All you have to do is hint at what you might do, back them into a corner with a look, or grab their wrist in a certain way and they're a wide-eyed mess. Ghost: What the fuck kind of Subway are you going to? Soap: Substitute teachers deal with so much shit. Gaz: Guys.
Soap: I just found out from Gaz today that when Sheperd died and the service did the 21-gun salute at his funeral, Y/N said, “They should aim at the coffin to be sure.”
Gaz: What’s up with Ghost? He's been laying on the floor for like….an hour now? Soap: He's just a little overwhelmed. Gaz: Why? Soap: Y/N smiled at him.
Price: sees Ghost and Soap together Price: They're cute. I would put them on a boat. Y/N: You mean… you ship them?
Y/N: I am darkness. I am power. I am your worst nightmare. I could kill a man in more ways than you can imagine. I am the night. I am fury, I am a weapon, I am- Soap: A doll. Gaz: A cinnamon roll. Ghost: A sweetheart. Y/N: Y/N: …stop it.
Price, teaching Y/N to drive: Okay, you're driving and Soap and Graves walk into the road. Quick, what do you hit? Y/N: Oh, definitely Graves. I could never hurt Soap. Price, massaging his temples: The brakes. You hit the brakes.
Y/N: You were stabbed. Do you remember anything? Ghost: Only the ambulance ride to the hospital. Y/N: That wasn't an ambulance, I drove you. Ghost: But I heard a siren. Gaz: That was Soap. Soap: Sorry, I got nervous.
Y/N: That's ridiculous, Ghost doesn't have a crush on me. Price: Yes, he does. Gaz: Yes, he does. Ghost: Yes I do.
Gaz: What is it called when you kill a friend? Ghost: Homicide. Soap: Murder. Y/N: Homiecide.
König: What is love? Alejandro: An emotional minefield. Ghost: A neurochemical reaction. Y/N & Soap: Baby don't hurt me.

make me bad - ch. 1 of 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You may have been born into the circus, but—thanks to a traumatizing incident that left you with some serious injuries—you grew up far away from it. Now as an adult, the person who hurt you has become a career criminal, and is wreaking havoc on the city. Included in his plans lies an unrelenting determination to find you—for what purpose, you do not know.
With the help of an old friend, you go into hiding to protect yourself. But as time has passed, you’ve begun to question if your sanctuary was ever quite so safe as it seemed.
WARNINGS: This story involves violence (a character accidentally injures another character during childhood and it could be triggering for some - not graphic/it's more implied but it's there) and obsessive behavior. Read at your own discretion.
MINORS DNI.
The boy didn’t want you to leave the circus.
That much was obvious. Or rather, he didn’t want you leaving him at the circus. He had become so distressed at even the slightest mention of you leaving that you and others actively avoided broaching the subject around him.
The boy would’ve been just fine with you forsaking this hellhole, so long as you made it a point to drag him along for the ride. In fact, this would’ve been more than ideal. He would’ve loved to be dragged off by you somewhere, to run away with you.
Life could’ve been peachy keen, if only you'd let it.
But you were just so damn insistent on abandoning him.
This shouldn’t have come as a surprise. Smooth waters—happy times in the absence of mayhem, terror or bloodshed—simply weren’t in the cards for him. "In the cards” was quite literal in this respect. His mother had given him enough tarot readings throughout his childhood for him to realize that this was to be his life, his legacy. He was born into misery and he would die having fostered it. Alone.
Always alone.
During his readings, the devil card was usually one of the first to pop out of the deck. It startled him at first. Although he was loathe to admit it, the boy sometimes spooked easily.
“Don’t be a scaredy cat,” Lila admonished him. “He isn’t as bad as you might think.”
“What does it mean?” the boy asked.
His mother paused for a second, putting out her cigarette on her well-worn, antique ashtray. “Usually, this little guy appears when ya really, really want something. And sometimes, he even pops up when that thing you really, really want isn’t so good for you.”
“Like chocolate?”
“Yeah, kiddo,” she said. “Like chocolate. It can sometimes mean that you feel trapped by somebody, or someplace. Or something. What's the word..." she snapped a few times. "Oh! Confined. Confined. The devil can also mean that whatever it is you’re after is something you can’t have. Wanting something that’s always juuuust out of reach.”
“That’s a lot of meanings,” the boy said matter-of-factly.
“Y’know,” Lila snickered. “I don’t care what anybody else says about you. My kid’s no dummy.”
“Hey!” he snapped.
“Hey yourself,” she said, attempting to light another cigarette. She clicked her lighter once, twice, three times. No luck. “Ugh. J, could you be a dear and go grab a box of matches for me? I’ve got one on top of that big cabinet in my bedroom.”
“Vanity,” he corrected her. “The vanity. That’s the word you’re looking for, right Mom?”
Lila rolled her eyes. “Nobody likes a know-it-all. Can ya just go grab it?”
He stood up quickly. In spite of his mother’s sour tone, he felt like there was a sudden gust of wind in his sails.
The boy liked to play with matches.
“No running!” she yelled after him. But it was too late for that. He was already sprinting off towards the rundown trailer he and his family inhabited, if you could call them that.
He wondered if that was what that devil was trying to tell him. The thing he wanted, the thing that was always just out of reach…it was really pretty simple.
The boy wanted a family. A real one. A happy one.
He wasn’t necessarily sure what a real, happy family looked like, but he was well aware of what they didn’t look like. He was stuck with one he never asked for, after all; one he didn't want. A family he longed to escape from.
None of this was anything he didn’t already know, though. He was hoping to learn something new from those cards, but he rarely ever did.
Stupid devil.
He was delighted to find that the matchbox (smudged all over with clown paint and soot) had already been opened, and still had a good amount of matches in it. He took two out and shoved them in his pocket for later. His mother was too distracted to thank him for his efforts when he returned to her, fully enveloped in a conversation with some elephant trainer.
The boy walked off towards the field nearby. In the distance stood a forest, most notably a weeping willow looming over a small pond.
There you sat, reading one of your many books.
Stupid books.
Those were the things that made you want to desert him. In this way—and many others—you two were dissimilar. Apart from the baseline dysfunction of the circus, you had nothing to run away from. Your mother was kind. She treated you well, and unlike Lila Valeska, she wanted better for you. As a matter of fact, she was working towards getting you into some fancy school. She had said something about a “scholarship,” whatever that was. The boy didn’t get it. Weren’t those only for older kids?
You weren’t trying to run away from something. You were trying to run towards something. You had all these big plans, big dreams. Your desire to see something different was something the two of you did share, only the boy’s hopes and dreams were a little more...non-traditional than yours. He just wanted to be happy; to put on a show for everyone, make real life feel just like the circus. He wanted to bring the entertainment directly to the people for free, instead of waiting around for them to show up. He didn’t need school to be a good showman. He was way too smart for school, and it was just so boring. Didn’t you realize that?
Didn’t you want to be happy, too?
“Hi,” you greeted him, setting your book down in the grass.
“Hiya,” he said. “Can I sit with you?”
You seemed caught off guard by the question, like you were surprised he would even ask.
“Sure.”
He picked up a rock and skipped it across the pond. “What are you reading?” he asked.
You paused for a second, taking a sharp breath in.
“It’s dumb. I don’t want to talk about it.”
He knew why. You didn’t want him to get upset.
“You sure?” he asked. He leaned over to grab the book, but you pushed his arms away. He wasn’t sure why he was asking you about it. It was almost like he wanted an excuse to throw a fit, to try and change your mind about leaving him on his own.
And then, it hit him.
“J, what are you doing?”
It was all your fault, really.
“You shouldn’t play with matches like that.”
It was your fault. Yours. As you said, he was just playing. He was only trying to scare you a little bit, much like the devil in his mother’s cards scared him. Maybe if he spooked you enough, you wouldn’t want to go anymore. Maybe he could knock some sense into you. Or maybe, just maybe, he could convince you to take him with you.
“Oh, don’t be boring, dolly,” he said, moving the flame closer towards your face. “Didn’t you always want to learn how to breathe fire?”
He never meant for you to get hurt.
He could still remember the running, the screaming, the sirens. He could remember the look on his mother’s face when she discovered what he had done.
And then you were gone.
He hadn't felt anything like that before. He was usually so chipper, even in spite of his circumstances. With as sad as he was, you might as well have died.
But you didn’t.
You were still alive, but you were just out of reach.
For now.

Realistically Lila would be that tiktokker who made a dummy reddit account to post a screenshot of her own instagram post suggesting she had brain cancer in order to talk shit about her ex, completely forgetting that she was logged in when she took the screenshot therefore exposing herself as the owner of the account which then led to people checking out her other dummy posts and discovering that she’s responsible for circulating a fake nude of her ex, among other gossip. And instead of owning up to it she panicked and claimed her account was hacked by a google pixel in Romania despite the fact those phones aren’t supported in that country (lol) and that the time stamps mean it’s literally impossible for it to have been someone from there (lmao, even).
But alas, Lila gets away with it all~

HOLY SHIT - A REASONABLE LILA SALT FIC THAT DOESNT GI ALL OUT IN THE CLASS - Alix The Dummy(Not Bashing Alix btw)
Silence filled the room for an awful moment. Then Marinette bowed her head. “You did hurt me,” she admitted. “Badly. And I don’t know that I can trust you all again right away.” She took a breath. “But I want to try. Because you are my friends, and I miss you, and I don’t want to lose you forever, and—“
Her words were cut off as Alya surged forward and enveloped her in a massive hug. The rest of the class, again except for Lila herself and Alix, followed suit.
“Marinette,” whimpered Alya as she held the other girl. “You’re so wonderful!”
“If there’s any way we can make it up to you, just tell us what you want us to do and we’ll do it,” Nathaniel said.
“Right!” Kim beamed. “You like cookies, right? I could bake you cookies!”
Nino snorted. “Kim, we’re trying to make her happy, not poison her.”
And Marinette laughed. “I don’t want anything except your friendship,” she said as the class continued to embrace her. “That’s it.”
Hell yeah!

As the end of Thursday approached Belle couldn’t help but fell a sense of sadness.  Steve has called or texted every day but as graduation grew closer, all she could feel was the weight of missing her dad.  As she left her final exam, she messaged Lilia.
B: I’m going to be in Brooklyn tonight  L: Same Place?  B: Yeah. Feeling it today  L: Be careful.  Call a cab if it gets late  B: Thanks Li.
Belle took the subway into Brooklyn, headphones in, getting lost in the music.
Meanwhile, Bucky and Steve made their way to Jersey.  They decided they wanted to surprise Lila and Isabella for the end of finals.  “Can’t believe we’re dating college seniors,” Bucky said with a laugh.
“I didn’t expect that either but her we are.”  Steve knocked on the door.
Lila opened the door.  “Mr. Rogers? Bucky, what are you doing here?”
“We wanted to take you and Belle to dinner,” Bucky explained.  “To celebrate the end of finals.”
Lila chewed her lip.  “She’s not here.”  Lila looked at the men nervously.  “She went to be alone for a bit.”
“Where?”  Steve demanded. “Miss Stevens, tell me where she is now!” He took a step towards her.
“Pal, be calm,” Bucky said, placing himself between them. “We can track her phone. Its fine.”  Bucky tapped on his phone.  “She’s in Brooklyn.  At some piano bar.”
“Just leave her be,” Lila pleads. “She’s missing her dad and needs a moment alone.  The owner and the bartender know her.  They’ll keep an eye out.  Please?”
“I have to know she’s ok.”  Steve went downstairs, not waiting for Bucky.  He climbed into a passing cab and gave the address to the only piano bar he knew of in Brooklyn.
Belle sat in a booth on the side, hiding in the shadows.  She sipped her drink, a coke, not wanting to get list in the alcohol.
“Next up, we have the extraordinary talents of Belle Davis.”
Belle got up and went to the piano.  The overhead lights made it impossible to see anyone in the crown but she could still hear them.  But it was what she needed.  To have people hear her but not anyone she cared for.  They would want to help when there isn’t anything they can do.  She touched the keys and played the intro to a song that resonated in her heart.
I tried to talk to my piano  I tried to talk to my guitar  Talking my imagination  Confided into alcohol  I tried and tried and tried some more  Told secrets ‘til my voice was sore  Tired of empty conversations  ‘cause no one hears them anymore
She thought back to her dad. Making her practice.  “Belle, you practice and it make it perfect.  Try again.”
A hundred million stories  And a hundred million songs  I feel stupid when I sing  Nobody’s listening to me  Nobody’s listening  I talk to shooting starts but they always get it wrong  I feel stupid when I pray  So, why am I praying anyway?  When nobody’s listening
Phil watching her train at kickboxing.  “Don’t pull your punches sweetheart.  The dummy can’t hurt you back.”
Anyone, please send me anyone  Lord is there anyone  I need someone, oh  Anyone, please send me anyone  Lord, is there anyone?  I need someone.   I used to craze the world’s attention  I think I cried too many times  I just need some more affection  Anything to get me by
On the last day she saw him.  “Dad, you seem nervous.”
“Don’t worry sweetheart.  Easy peasy.  I’ll be back in a few days.”
“Cool, I have a new receipt I want you to try.”
“Looking forward to it Bell.  Love you.” He kissed her forehead.
“Love you too Dad.  See you in a few days.”
A hundred million stories  And a hundred million songs  I feel stupid when I sing  Nobody’s listening to me  Nobody’s listening  I talk to shooting starts   but they always get it wrong  I feel stupid when I pray  Why the fuck  am I praying anyway?  If nobody’s listening  Anyone, please send me anyone  Lord is there anyone  I need someone, oh  Anyone, please send me anyone  Lord, is there anyone?  I need someone  Oh anyone I need anyone  Oh anyone I need someone  A hundred million stories  And a hundred million songs  I feel stupid when I sing  Nobody’s listening to me  Nobody’s listening
Belle finished her song to loud applause.  She went back to her booth but she was surprised to find it occupied.  “What are you doing here?”
“Lila told me you went out and I tracked your phone.”  Steve put his face in the light, taking in the obvious tears that were still in Belle’s eyes. But they changed once Steve mentioned that he tracked her phone.  She grabbed her bad and stormed out.
“Isabella, stop,” as the made it outside
“You had no right! I’m not your submissive yet.  I still have my free will.” She was angry.  Angry that he had found her and listened to her sing.  Only Lila had ever heard her really and she asked that it be kept a secret.
“I needed to know you were safe,” Steve said, trying to reason with her.
“By violating my privacy? I wanted to be alone.  This is hard for me, ok?  I’m all alone on the edge of one of the most important weeks of my life.”
“You’re not alone!” He grabs her and kisses her.  She pushes him away and slaps him.
“I’m nothing to you but a potential sex slave! Please leave me alone.”  She runs for the subway but he catches her again.
“Don’t ever say that again,” Steve growls.  “You mean more to me than you know.  You aren’t a sex slave.”  Belle struggled against him.  “Please sweetheart, stop. Stop.”  He held her closer to him and she kept struggling until she started to sob.  “It’s ok my Belle.  Its alright.” He stroked her hair as she clings to him.  “I’m right here.”
“I miss him,” she cried.  “He’s supposed to be here.”  She held onto Steve tighter.
“I know baby, I know.  I’m so sorry.” He kissed her hair, trying to get her to calm down.
“I can’t do this without him. I don’t know how.”
“I’ll help you,” Steve whispered. “I’ll be right here.”  He scooped her up and hailed another cab.  He took her to the penthouse.  She was asleep by the time he made it upstairs.
“Seriously punk,” Bucky started before he saw Belle in his arms.  “Is she ok?” He whispered.
“No, she’s not. But she will be.  Goodnight, Buck.  You can yell at me in the morning jerk.”
Steve took her to his room and laid her on the bed.  He carefully took off her clothes and slipped a shirt over her head. He got her under the covers and he stared at her for a moment, taking in her youthful expression, eyes slightly swollen from crying.  He sighed and quickly changed climbing in next to her.  He pulled her close and drifted off to sleep.
Tumblr media
Belle’s alarm awoke her like normal for a Friday.  She stretched until she felt her arm brush up against something warm.  Her eyes snapped open and turned to see Steve’s sleeping face next to her.  She looked to see that she was in Steve’s bedroom.
She crawled out of bed and head to her room.  She needed to get ready and didn’t have time to go back home and changed.  She looked through the clothing Steve has gotten her, selecting a blue dress with a white sweater and wedges.  She jumped into the shower and came out.  She was startled to see Steve sitting on her bed. “Hi.”
“Are you ok?”
“I’m fine.” She fiddled with her towel. “I’m so sorry that I hit you.”
“Super soldier Belle.  I can take a hit.” He took her hands. “I’m sorry.  I’m so sorry that I did that.  I didn’t mean to violate your privacy. I was just worried about you.”
“I know I’m sorry.  Not a lot of people know I go there.  I just need to get away sometimes.”
Steve pulled her to his lap. “You are amazing Belle.  Your voice is beautiful.”
“Thank you.” She nuzzled into his neck and he held her tighter.
“Stay with me today. We can talk, figure this out.”
“I can’t. Its my last day at Stark.” She moved to get up but Steve held her close.  “Steve please.”
“I know, I just… wanted to feel you.  You were so angry and scared yesterday.  Tell me please?”
“I just miss him.  I don’t even know what happened.  They just said an accident at work and I was taken from my home, my friends.  The bar… he used to go there… the owner knew him.  So, Dad, he used to take me in and I would sing when I was nervous about anything.  Its where I go when I’m scared.”
Steve closed his eyes, realizing the mistake he made. He took something of her father from her. “Belle, I am so sorry.  Really, truly.  When Lila said you just needed to get away, I didn’t realize it meant that you needed to be closer to your dad.” He kissed her forehead and she turned to look at him.  He leaned in to kiss her, softly at first but then deeper. “Please forgive me Isabella,” he whispered against her lips.  He kissed her again, deeper still, moving her to lay on the bed.
“Steve, please, we have to stop.  I have to go to work,” Belle gasped not really wanting to let go.
“I’ll drop you off, plenty of time,” he said between kisses to her neck. His hands moved down to slide up her towel. “Let me show you how sorry I am.”
“Steve, please,” she wasn’t sure what she was pleading for anymore.  She needed him, her lifeline.
“What do you want Isabella?” She couldn’t decide so Steve continued to tease, listening to her moan, arching her body to his touch. He undid the towel, allowing him to touch further.  He groaned when he could feel how aroused she was. He swirled his fingers on her clit and picked up some of her nectar on his fingers and brought them to mouth.
Isabella watched him and felt the fire in her belly grow.  “Steve, please, fuck me,” she pleaded, reasoning gone out the window, responsibilities trampled on the floor.
Steve smiled as he ran his nose down the length of hers. He ghosted her lips and said, “watch your language young lady.” He reached down and pulled his sweats and boxers down and was in her in no time.  She gasped at the sudden fullness and cried out.  He worked her hard, lifting her legs to wrap around her waist so he could go deeper.
He reached to play with her clit at she cried out more and more, the overwhelming desire flashing white in her eyes.  “Let go Isabella.” Steve could feel himself ready to let go but wouldn’t until she did.  She needed to know that she was first in his eyes, always.  He leaned to suck on one of her nipples and that was her undoing.  She clenched around him, sucking him in.  Steve pumped a few more times before he pulled out and cummed on her belly, remembering at the last second that he hasn’t put a condom on.
Only the sounds of their heavy breathing punctuated the room.  Steve got up and got a washcloth to clean Belle up.  He was gentle, worried he crossed another line.  He laid down next to her.  “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I wanted that too.”  She kissed him gently. “Please don’t tell anyone about my secret ok?”
“I’ll never tell.” He brushed a hair away. “C’mon, get ready.  I’ll get you some coffee and take you work.  Tonight, we’ll talk and some other things,” he said flashing a wicked grin.
Tumblr media
Isabella walking into the Avengers Tower and headed up to her desk.  She took everything in, not sure when she would see it all again.
“How was finals?”
Belle jumped and turned to see Tony standing next to her desk. “Mr. Stark, hi.”  She fidgeted between her feet.  “They were fine.  Should have the results on Monday.”
“Good, that’s good.  I hope you had time to study between your galas.” Tony inspected the girl.
Belle flushed.  “I’m always studying Mr. Stark.  I have a position at MSA in the fall.  I start training in a month. So I need to keep on my toes.”
“Congratulations.  I’m glad to see you focus on your career. And not on your non-existent boyfriend.” He started to walk away.
“I’m sorry, is there a problem Mr. Stark?”  Belle could see he had something else he wanted to say.
“Nothing Belle.  Schedule in a few?”
“Yes, Mr. Stark.” She started up her computer and saw an email from Steve.
From: [email protected]  To: [email protected]    Subject: Last Day  Congratulation on finishing your internship.  I made us reservations for dinner at 8. Bucky will take you to the apartment to pick up whatever you need and bring you back.  I have a meeting at 630 so I will meet you at the restaurant.  Call me if you need me.   Steven Rogers  CEO, Grant Industries
Belle smiled and was quick to reply.
From: [email protected]  To: [email protected]  Subject: Last Day  Looking forward to it Mr. Rogers. Please let Bucky know that I am off early today at 4PM. Lila will be home if that is an incentive. Thank you for this morning.   Isabella Davis  Intern to Tony Stark  CEO, Stark Industries
Belle heard a huff behind her and saw Tony looking over her shoulder.  “So, he is a boyfriend?”
“Not that it’s any of your business Mr. Stark but yes he is.”  She wasn’t sure why she said it but the look she got from Tony and his tone made her defensive.
“You should stay away from him Belle.  He’s not good enough for you.”
“What I do in my private life is my business.”  Isabella stood up. “And you have no right to have an opinion on it!” She shouted, drawing the attention of the other person on the floor, his wife.
“Tony, leave her alone.  We talked about this.  She has every right to see whomever she wants,” Pepper scolded.  She turned to Isabella.  “I’m sorry Belle.  Umm, could you get the reports from legal for us.  We have a meeting in 20.”
“Not a problem Mrs. Stark.  I’ll be right back.”  She glared at Tony and left.
Pepper turned to her husband. “Tony, seriously, what the hell was that?”
“Nothing.”
“Petulance gets you nowhere.”
“I don’t want to see her get hurt.  She’s a target if she gets seen with him.”
“Why would she be a target?” Pepper looked confused.
“Doesn’t matter.” Tony shook his head. He walked into his office and closed the door.

Honestly, the fact that people to get so offended over the idea of Chloe and Lila being worse than Gabriel. Kind of makes me roll my eyes ar people screeching about the misogny of two teenage girls being called evil.
Both Chloe and Lila have both have been shown to knowingly willingly try to take advantage of the fact that Gabriel is an abuser to use for their benefits…
The reason I honestly agree with the assessment that they are both worse than Gabriel comes down to one simple thing. If you took away the miraculous from Gabriel, he probably wouldn’t have the guts to do literally any of the stuff that he does. All his confidence and all his power to do what he does come from the fact that he has that magical brooch.
Chloe and Lila have both been shown to not need a miraculous to want to do evil things to people. It is it so shocking to people the idea that teenage girls can be pretty awful coming from a girl who was frequently bullied by other teenage girls yeah teens can be awful to each other.
Portraying something in fiction doesn’t equate to condoning/normalizing behavior.
I adore this analysis of yours ^^ ! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts :) Even if I'm a girl myself I was a little bothered that fans felt so ofended over the idea that Lila and Chloé could be worse than Gabriel. But for me it was kinda logic that they would be worse than him, because they are supposed to be the next Big baddies once Monarch is out of the picture. And Ladybug and Chat Noir became strong enough that the ml writters will have to put them against crazier villains in order to rise up the stakes
I had never thought of the kind of person Gabriel would be without the butterfly miraculous, but I think we had a glimpse of it in the episode Queen Wasp where he was ready to stop everything for Adrien's sake (and he even complimented Marinette, while in this season 5 she seems to be the second person he despises the most after Ladybug T_T). It is also the period when Gabriel had not yet developed the habit of controlling Adrien with his amok. Gabriel had not been totally corrupted by power yet in this episode, while for season 5 there is no doubt that he has descended into madness and took a liking to evil, but it was a slow descent into hell, he got worse every season, and his abusive, toxic and obsessive behavior also escalated.
Chloé and Lila on the other hand ... They're different. Of course there was a period when Chloé softened between season 2 and season 3, but the Derision episode will show us how bad she really was, and unfortunatelly became once again. This episode will also reveal how much Chloé has a very twisted and wicked view of how the world works.
And Lila is no better, if not worse. I still get goosebumps thinking back to this scene when she's cutting Marinette's face from a bunch of photos she took from a distance either by herself or by paying somoene to do it, declaring loud and clear "soon you'll have no one and nothing left Marinette". My only though after this scene was : PSYCHOPATH !
And I don't know if you've read the bible, but (SPOILER WARNING FOR THIS PARAGRAPH !) the fact that Lila can go as far as managing 3 false identities at the same time just to get attention and popularity is kinda messed up. Also her intelligence level must be as good as Felix's if she can pull something like that so easilly (also it probably helps her that most ml character are guillible dummies ^^')
And let's not forget that Chloé and Lila willingly got themselves akumatized at one point just because they were offended. They are willing to wreck havoc for the most pettiest reasons of all.
And also, while during season 5 Gabriel is mostly motivated by his madness and hunger for power and control, his original purpose was still intriguing and understandable, to bring a loved one back to life.
Lila and Chloé on the other hands, what do they want, what are their motivations ? Simple : destroying the life of another teenager girl who barely did anything to them. They are only motivated by petty jealousy and the desire to hurt.
Because yeah Chloé always enjoyed hurting Marinette more than anyone else even before she became jealous of her, and Lila seems to have developped an hate-obsession toward Marinette even more intense than the hate she feels for Ladybug, and for what ? Just because Marinette called Lila out for her lies twice or thrice and is currently Adrien's girlfriend ? The boy both Lila and Chloé covet llike he's a thing to possess ?
When there is no rationality behind someone's motives, only madness remains. And crazy antagonists who take pleasure in making others miserable can sometimes be even more terrifying than rich powerfull business man obsessed with power.
There's no denying anymore that both Lila and Chloé are not only bad persons, but also a little deranged in their head. So what happens when you give wicked teenagers more power than they already have ? They become worse, because if they can get away with hurting even more people because that's something they enjoy, what's really stopping them ?
What the fans seem to ignore is that even at 14 years old, people can be pretty messed up in real life. It's much rarer than adults doing evil around them that's for sure, but it happens. I even remember a real case where two young girls below 12 years old murdered a 2 years old kid and an old lady just "for fun". And there's many others example with boys, some can even start committing rape when they're just 14. So why is it that hard to beleive that 14 years old girls have the potential to be more evil than an adult man when they grow up ?
Also can we really talk about misoginy when the main hero character who must face those two crazy girls is also a girl herself ? And when said girl is the protagnoist while her boy partner is the deuteragonist ?
Miraculous Ladybug seems to focus much more on the performances of its female characters like Kagami, Alya, Alix and Zoé for example. And then the star characters of the New York and Shanghai specials were also female. The series has probably chosen two female characters as the future antagonists who will be "worse" than the previous one, because they are characters that we have known since season 1 as rivals of the heroine, and who also evolved alongside the season, but towards the path of evil. After all, when the good becomes better, the bad must become worse.
But I think the detail that might show that fans are wrong to howl mysoginia is that somehow, Gabriel is the one who gave Chloe and Lila opportunities to become even worse. His akumatizations and plans involving Chloe and Lila can be seen as a way of corrupting the two young girls, their viciousness is something Gabriel has always indirectly encouraged for his plans. So is it so surprising then that the student would manage to surpass the master ?
For those who have read the bible, I seem to remember that the synopsis of an episode mentioned Chloe and Lila as "the best minions and allies of Monarch" So if Chloé and Lila became worse than Gabriel, it's because Gabriel himself influenced them.

Spookytale
(An Undertale x Spooky Month crossover)
Chapter 4: Fight.
Summary: After an incident involving the whole town getting hypnotized(besides Skid) and falling into a hole, all of them find themselves in a place that will change their life forever.
TWS: GUN MENTIONS.
————
All Toriel had said after leaving Roy with his mouth agape was: "Let us move to the next room." Before swiftly turning around, and moving to the next room like she had said to do. Roy only let out syllables of disbelief, before only letting out a sigh and crossing his arms tightly as he moved back into the group and began to move in the direction Toriel was heading(along with the others). Susie raised a brow with a smirk, saying, "Something wrong?"
Roy only grumbled back: "Shut up.."
Some snickered at the childish sight, while Lila merely shortly scolded the both of them, though Robert and Ross only observed and occasionally made comments of their own. John had finally said aloud, "Alright, enough of the chatter.. let's just get movin'."
Of course, they went silent, and did as John had said.
————
In the next room, of course, the same deep purple brick walls and light purple floorings had been present. Yet again, there was a pastel purple path, which led to both another entrance and what looked to be.. a dummy which had beem on some short blotch of pastel purple which had been connected to the path? Well, that's what at least what they were able to interpret it as. There were yet again vines, though they had both been on the sides of the entrance. There were beginning to be less visible reactions from each room, though some still did look visibly mesmerized at the entire place. Some were still glancing around even now.
Toriel stopped on the path, and spoke while giving them all a side glance while still patiently smiling: "As humans living in The Underground, monsters may attack you all. You will all need to be prepared for this situation. However, worry not! The process is simple. When each of you encounter a monster, you will enter a fight." Her words visibly earned reactions from certain people in the room. "Wa—Wait.. mon—monsters.. other monsters are going to attack us?!" Kevin would yelp helplessly from where he was being held by Toriel still, looking up at her with widened eyes.
Roy, Robert and Ross gave no reaction. Though Susie anxiously questioned, "What—what do we do if we enter a fight? I'm not good at fighting!" Pump only glanced up at her, as if confused by her worry. (Lila would bring Skid closer, murmuring to him as he glanced up in innocent confusion; "I think it's best if you stay close to me, son..")
Jack then looked over at John, asking him with a raised brow; "Is.. is your gun still loaded?" John only grumbled in reply, "Beats me.." He had spoken in a gruff tone while observing his own gun. ("Wait.. why didn't you shoot that flower monster when my gun was jammed if you still had one on you?" Jack would ask, seeming genuinely confused. John paused, before replying in an equally confused tone, "I.. I don't know.") Ethan and Streber only looked at eachother, muttering unintelligible conversation with slightly frightened glances. Jaune would say softly to her slightly embarrassed son, "Its alright, son.. I'll protect you."
"Humans," Toriel began, "there is no need for any of you to fight back. It is best none of you fight back, for it may lead to you accidentally killing a monster. I.. I know you are all frightened, but if you kill a monster by accident, there will be consequences. And.. you do have the option to spare them."
Someone in the group was about to speak, but Toriel immediately answered with(as if already knowing what they were going to ask): "You can spare them, as long as you have enough patience. Murder.. shall leave a mark on the soul, an irreplaceable mark that you shall not ever be able to rid of. Believe me, even if you are frightened.. it is better to spare than to die or to kill the other monster you are fighting."
"Well.. if we don't fight back, then what do we do? How do we.. spare them exactly?" Ethan would ask. "Yeah, if the monster keeps trying to kill us even if we do spare it, chances are we might not make it really far." Streber would say in turn, gesturing with his hands slightly.
"Well.. I am not certain of how to explain that, but I believe as long as you have enough patience and Determination, you shall be able to make it through a fight." Toriel would respond, seeming uncertain, but still speaking with her kindly motherly smile. It was almost hard to not forget that she was a literal sentient goat with red eyes and a dress sometimes, with how she had been behaving thus far anyway.
Skid would only nod eagerly in reply to Toriels words, smiling rather.. excitedly. Pump would do the same as well. While Lila and Susie gave them both slightly worried looks(though Susie seemed a bit more frustrated than worried), they seemed almost.. motivated in a way. Determined, even. They.. they had been filled with Determination.
"Now," Toriel continued with her explanation, "while you are all in a fight, strike up a friendly conversation. Stall for time. I will come to resolve the conflict. One of you shall go and talk to the dummy yourself, and will be an example to everyone. As for.. this one right here.." Toriel would glance down at Kevin, making him nervously gulp, "..you shall stay in my arms and observe."
All Kevin could muster was an awkward, scrawny: "...u—uh.. okay.."
Toriel would then nod(while seemingly ignoring a slightly baffled Roy, who would comment aloud, "Wait.. you want us to talk to the dummy? A.. A dummy?"), before walking toward the entrance, and stopping right before it(Roy would stare in disbelief, before groaning and simply submitting to the task he found rather stupid.). The others would follow, and would stop right there. For a moment, they all stood there in awkward silence, as if unsure what to do. They all glanced expectantly at the other, seemingly not certain who it was that would be speaking to the dummy.
"Uh.. so who's gonna go talk to it?" Streber would inquire aloud, sweating a little as he did so. "Not me!" Roy would reply loudly, "I'm not gonna talk to a dummy.." Toriel would inquire, "Is.. is there any assistance needed? You all wish to survive here, do you not? It is best if one of you—"
"No, no, its.. it's fine! Are.. are any of us gonna talk to it, or are we all just gonna keep standing here?" Streber would respond, sounding a little bit more rude than he meant to, though he was only speaking in a more exasperated tone. "Well.. I guess I can go." Ethan would offer softly. "Wait.. really?" Streber glanced up curiously. "Yeah.. how hard could it be? Besides.. its just a dummy, I got this." Ethan would reply, before walking up to the dummy.
Ethan would then stop before the dummy, standing there awkwardly in silence for a moment. Ethan glanced around, unsure of what to say, though he did not seem nervous. He heard what sounded like mischevious snickering from behind him, though he did not pay it any mind. He then sighed, and spoke to.. well, the dummy. He had simply uttered a simple phrase, along with a greeting: "Uh.. hello.. how are you?"
"..."
Ethan glanced over at Toriel. Her expression seemed happy, at the very least. She seemed happy with him. Obviously, the dummy wasn't much for conversation, considering it was not at all sentient.
Ethan heard what sounded like Streber also quietly snickering, though in a much friendlier manner than the mischevious snickering he had heard a few seconds ago. Ethan, with held back laughter, then spoke aloud: "Thats.. good. How's.. How's life?" Some were beginning to laugh a little as well, including Kevin, who had still been scooped up in Toriels arms. Skid and Pump obliviously smiled though, happy as usual.
Ethan looked over at Toriel again, she seemed happier, and happier with him. She then spoke aloud once more, perhaps signaling that this practice "fight" was now over. She would say while stepping closer, reaching out a hand(though surprisingly, she did not drop Kevin) and.. gently cupping Ethans face in her giant fuzzy paw. "Ah, good! You did very good! I am so proud of you!" Toriel would smile, speaking in her usual motherly tone.
For whatever reason... Ethan's eyes lit up a little, sparkling slightly. A small smile formed on his lips. He could only awkwardly mutter while still smiling: "Uh.. wow, thanks."
Toriel would only softly chuckle to herself, before letting go. Gaining a tighter hold on Kevin, she would then say, "Now, let us proceed to the next room."
As Ethan stood there for a split second(while the others followed behind Toriel), the smile on his face would not go away no matter how hard he would try to get it to. Streber would walk beside him, asking, "Heh.. geez, what was that all about, huh?"
Ethan would only reply in a low but genuine voice, "I.. I dunno."
But the smile on his face would not fade, and did not fade for a few seconds.
Of course, after a few worried words from Streber(who asked if he had been okay, only for Ethan to say, "Yeah, I—I'm fine.. lets just keep walking."), the two would follow behind the others as promised.
————
"There is another puzzle in this room. I wonder if you all can solve it?" That would be the first thing Toriel would utter aloud while standing on yet another pastel purple path in the next room. Brick walls were of course there, along with a few green vines lined on the wall. Though curiously, John would ask, "What.. what is the puzzle?"
Toriel would strangely reply, "You'll see, dear one." And would then turn around, walking to the direction in which the puzzle presumably was. (Kevin was heard nervously muttering something to Toriel, something along the lines of, "Uh.. so when are you gonna put me down?" Toriel would only be heard answering: "Soon, dear one.") Of course, the others would follow, as per usual. They did not make conversation with others around them as usual, though Skid did loudly say to Pump, "Hey, Pump! Maybe we can go and explore this place more later! And we can play with some of the spooky monsters here!" Pump would reply: "And then we can see if there's any candy!"
In unison, the two would shout while bouncing up and down, "Ya—"
Of course, Susie would shush them.
Toriel would giggle aloud softly, commenting, "You two little ones are so full of energy.. there is monster candy down here, so perhaps I can go and collect some for you both later on."
Skid was about to reply, though Lila would say to Toriel as they neared a corridor, "Uh.. thanks, but.. is monster candy safe? My son won't be.. hurt, right?"
Toriel only responded with a caring look, "Of course not, dear one. I will not harm your child in any way, I promise."
This seemed to calm Lila a little, surprisingly.
They stepped into the corridor, walking along the deep purple flooring. All of them wondered just how large this place was, why it was so big, and where exactly Toriel's house even was at this point. They longed for somewhere to rest in a place like this, and exhaustion was wearing on them all.. besides Skid and Pump, of course. It was only then that Ethan realized.. Susie and Pump had suddenly vanished.
Then.. Susie's voice would yelp, "Wh—What the—"
Others swiftly turned their heads around, now noticing the two had been in the corner of the corridor. Susie was helplessly standing behind Pump, and..
There had been.. a frog-like creature standing before him, seemingly not doing anything, but it was obvious what Pump had been experiencing. A fight. An actual fight. Others would gasp, some nearly about to approach the scene themself, though for whatever reason, they could not.
Susie instinctively shrieked while approaching, "Get away from my brother, you little—"
"Wow!" Pump would suddenly boast, interrupting Susie's threat. "You look so cool! Skid! Come look at this!"
"Pu—Pump—no—" Susie would stammer.
Skid would rush through the crowd hurriedly, looking on at the scene. Lila would rush behind, struggling to get behind him. Of course, she would lift him up in her arms, yelling; "Pump, just stay there, okay? We'll try and help you! What.. whatever it is we can do."
"It looks so spooky!" Skid would excitedly say, "Mom, can we play with it?!"
Lila was unable to reply, for suddenly, Pump would yet again beam, "Yeah! Pleaaaasseee? It looks so cool and so spooky!" The frog-like creature seemed confused by this as if not understanding, but seemed flattered anyway(It was at this time John would then put a hand on his own gun, and Jaune would suddenly get into a defensive position as if to protect her own son and also to protect Pump if the frog-creature actually tried anything). Susie would desperately shriek while flailing her hands in wild gestures, "No, you can't! That thing—"
All of the sudden, Toriel's voice would speak through the crowd, "Do not worry, I am coming!" Before any of them knew it, they cleared a path for her as she rushed through, towering over most of everyone else. As she reached the front of the group("Dont worry, girl.. Toriel's got this.." Jaune was heard murmuring to Lila, and then to her son, "Its gonna be alright, son."), she would stand with Kevin still in her arms.
Her eyebrows would then furrow, and she would scrunch her nose, giving a stern glare directly at the frog-creature.
The frog-like creature would glance at her for a moment, widening its.. weird eyes, it's weird pupils which seemed to vibrate in slight fear. Finally, the creature would slowly move around Pump, and would slowly move away from Pump and Susie, who had still been standing there. Seemingly.. the fight was over.
"Is.. is it.." Susie would not finish her sentence, seeming to get her question across enough as she desperately glanced at Toriel. Toriel's stern glare faded, and she then gave a caring expression, nodding at Susie in an encouraging manner. Susie would then let out a sigh of relief, before grabbing on tighter to Pump, saying, "Come on, you little brat! I'm not letting you bump into one of those things again. Who knows what they'll do if they actually try and attack you?"(Pump was heard saying back, "Aww, but Toriel didn't hurt us, so why would a monster do that?" Susie would reply hurriedly, "Not all monsters are Toriel! Now come on!")
Toriel would stare at Pump for a moment, rather strangely, before her expression changed. She then would ask, "Oh dear.. are you alright, little ones? There, there. Just follow close behind. If you or your brother encounter a fight again, do not panic. Just remember what I had told you all." Toriel said, sounding reassuring and loving, like a mother, seeming to be addressing Susie specifically in the last part of her sentence. Susie would hesitantly reply, "Ye—Yes, ma'am.."
Toriel would only smile, saying lovingly, "Good.. I am proud of you both."
Susie and Pump would stare up at her, as if in disbelief. Though.. others wondered why that had been so. Their eyes would widen, and yet they shimmered in an odd sense. It was not as if their own parents had not treated them with enough attention at home, so why they were acting this way? That was what others who would witness their expressions would ponder.
Toriel would then say while turning around, "Now, let us proceed."
Kevin had to admit, watching her go from stern to loving in a matter of seconds was.. a little terrifying. Yet at the same time, he felt weirdly protected in a way. He guessed this was what having a sentient talking goat lady on his side (along with many others) was like. Others had felt oddly protected too, in a sense. It was like Toriel would protect them in this strange, unfamiliar place. And that was so, for she promised.
Susie and Pump would follow closer behind this time, but they would specifically get a little closer to Toriel. Perhaps this meant something, though perhaps it did not.
As they continued to walk down the corridor, Jaune and Lila had noticed something, a sign on the wall. And though the others kept walking, Jaune would then address Lila, "Hey, girl.. come take a look at this." Lila did so while holding Skid, asking(though her face was still worried from what happened a few seconds ago), "What is it, Jaune—"
Of course, she noticed what Jaune had been talking about. A sign which was labeled with ancient handwriting that read, "The western room is the eastern rooms blueprint." (Skid would quietly ask with a grin, "What does that mean, mom?" Lila would answer, "I don't know, son..")
The two glanced at eachother, confused. "I.. guess it's not the weirdest thing we've seen down here." Jaune would try and nervously smile, though Lila let out a worried noise. "Hey, girl... its fine, I'm sure it's nothing. Besides, there's probably more weirder things down here, right? Come on, let's just go and walk with the others." Jaune would smile, attempting to wrap and arm around Lila's shoulder, before Lila, Skid and Jaune(of course) had suddenly heard the sounds of gasping coming from the others.
When they glanced in that direction, they immediately realized what they were gasping at.

* ok pinned post time uhh
* I’ve already shared info about my au (more on twitter than on here), but I thought I’d make a pinned post so that the important stuff is in one place and it’s easy to find
Tumblr media
* ok so the au is an Undertale/MLB au, mostly focusing on the Undertale characters, specifically Mettaton and Papyrus, but a few Miraculous characters will be important. And some will be changed, as Lila, Felix, and Kagami will be older and Adrien will not be around.
* the story would kind of be the same as the show’s story, but everything will be more connected and several things will be added/removed/changed depending on what I think might work better.
* this whole starts 5 years after the monsters are freed from the Underground, Papyrus is a famous fashion model after being the monster ambassador, Mettaton is now a drama/theater teacher at the same school Alphys and Undyne work at, all the kids (Frisk, Kris, Noelle, Susie, etc) are now in the 9th grade, their last year of middle school, so yeah that’s what they’ll be doing. There’s more but I don’t want this thread to be too long.
* this whole thing takes place during 1 school year (except for Origins, which is a few days before)
* Papyrus and Sans did come from Deltarune’s world, they were taken the day before Papyrus’ birthday and neither of them know how they really got there until “Truth”
* Papyrus is a sentimonster, in Deltarune’s world Gaster had the peacock miraculous and created him since he wasn’t able to replicate what he did to create Sans. His amok is split between two fidget rings he had. Now Gabriel has those rings and Papyrus has replicas that he believes are the originals.
* the reason for Mettaton’s career change will be explained/hinted at throughout the story, and then fully explained in Derision
* Papyrus’ love for Ladybug wouldn’t be romantic, just admiration, but due to outside influence he feels like it has to be romantic, so he tries to get himself to love Ladybug, but after a while he decides to stop and just ignore what he thinks other people think he should do.
* characters that aren’t really important in Undertale like the Ruins Dummy or Fuku Fire will be more important
* Frisk still has the most determination and the power to save/reload, although there are a few times where Gabriel has that power
* Mad Mew Mew will have a character arc similar to Chloe’s, except she’ll actually change (& she’d just be less awful in general)
* there’s more things I want to say, but I’m just copying and pasting all of this from twitter and I didn’t want to make that thread too long, so I won’t make this post too long
* if you have questions then you can comment on this post if you want
* and yeah that’s kinda it for now. I’ll probably share more info later, who knows, but uh yeah bye

Between a Rock and a Hard Place (6)
Ao3
Ladybug watched her golden boy race up the staircase. Even after she lost sight of his sneakers, she could hear his voice. His shouting was drowned out by the choir of middle-schooler zombies that chased after him.
Ladybug scanned the crowd of pursuers very carefully. Just as Adrien had predicted, Zombizou followed the class from behind. Perhaps the plan would work after all.
Just as Zombizou was about to go up the stairs, she stopped to look around. Ladybug ducked down behind her cover of scrap metal to avoid being detected.
After ten seconds, Ladybug snuck a peak back over the metal heap. She caught a glimpse of the last two figures ascending the stairs; Alya and Juleka.
Looks like Zombizou is covering her ass. Ladybug thought. She bit her lip, unsure how the plan would pan out.
One thing was for certain; Adrien was really going to need her backup in a hot second. She’d better hustle after the zombies or her date with Baby Fabio was extinct.
Maybe I should add my own cave painting down here, Ladybug thought. A tiny ladybug being trampled by one of those mammoths so, in 10,000 years, someone will understand how absolute garbage this day has been.
She blinked. It had been about ten seconds since the zombies had started up the stairs. Time to get moving.
Ladybug vaulted over a bent girder and raced over to the staircase. She slowed down, and crept when she reached the bottom. Cautiously, she craned her head up.
She could see a dozen torsos spiraling upward through the central pocket in the staircase. Focusing on the end of the line, she saw the pale skin of Zombizou, still rocking the 5-Gum-cobalt-blue hairdo. Juleka and Alya followed dutifully behind her.
This will be… interesting. Ladybug thought.
Far off above her, Adrien was still screaming his head off.
“Hey! Up here, dummies! That’s right! Come and get me!” Adrien goaded.
“Duudde,” Zombie Nino groaned, “We might be zombiessss, but we can, like, totally sstilll underssstand youuu.”
“Oh…Wait, really?”
“Yeeahh,” came the voice of Alix “We’re not dumb; we jussst want to kiss you.”
Kim chimed in, “Yeah bro. Not cool.”
“Especially since my second uncle twice-removed is half-zombie, that’s super insensitive of you to assume that all zombies are dumb. You’re canceled,” said Lila.
“Shut up, Lila,” Adrien taunted, “You’re lucky you're in this fic.”
Ladybug crept up the stairs as quietly as she could, so as not to break the fourth wall anymore than necessary.
At the top of the stairs, Adrien had reached the lobby. He pushed through the doorway and stepped out of the stairwell and into the visitor center. Here, sections of the rock had been framed with informational panels and historical blurbs, all under professional museum lighting. The floor was dark plaster, and the ceiling extended far above the exhibit lighting, disappearing into an inky-black void.
The door barely closed behind Adrien before Ivan’s lips smushed pushed against the window glass. Adrien could hear the impatient zombies quarrel with one another.
“Open the door!”
“Shtop pushimg mee!”
Finally, the push bar clicked-in and the door swung open and the rush of ensuing sneakers sounded like a basketball court.
Ivan, Nathaniel, and Max spilled out into the dark hallway. Each pair of eyes trained on Adrien.
Adrien didn’t stick around. He spun and bolted towards the lobby, where he could see other civilians mingling.
“Run!” Adrien shouted, “Zombies!”
The other guests were confused, and probably wouldn't have understood anyway. But, they did sense the urgency of a breathless teen being chased by others.
A few visiting couples retreated to the check-in counter, but most adults just stood in front of their children.
It wasn’t enough.
The stampede of middle-schoolers collided with the other guests, knocking some off their feet. Within seconds, Max, Nathaniel, and Mylene had all traded cooties with three new strangers.
“No!” Adrien was practically pulling out his hair at this point.
What could he do? His Miraculous was still recharging, and he didn’t have any cheese to feed Plagg. The stupid tour guide made him throw it away because food and drink wasn’t allowed in the caves. There had to be something around here he could use.
That’s when he smelled it. The room-temp aroma of Gourgères cheese puffs.
Across the atrium was a gift shop with a glass display of snacks. On the top rack in a silver bowl were a handful of crispy golden puffs with Gruyère cheese. Plagg might protest about the pastry bread, but it had cheese and was at least popcorn-shaped.
Beggars can’t be choosers, Adrien grimaced.
Adrien locked eyes with the cashier, a 20-something girl in a black arpon and her blonde hair in a bun. Her face was mortified as Adrien wildy clambered over to the counter.
“Those! I need a handful of Gourgères, please!” Adrien spoke hurriedly. Bodies were still slamming into each other, and screams began to break out in the museum.
This was a bad idea, he thought. Probably should have kept the zombies down in the caves.
Adren winced as Sabrina clambered onto the back of a middle-aged mustachio guy. The two crashed into a trash bin and sprawled across the floor.
The cashier was still in shock, “Hey! No fighting! What’s going on?”
Somebody shoved Kim into a rack of novelty T-shirts that read “One small step for caveman, one giant hole for cavekind.”
Kim looked up from underneath an XL, in his zombified stupor and smiled at the cashier.
“Hey cutie,” Kim schmoozed, “Wanna French?”
Nauseated, the cashier threw a handful of jam packets at Kim.
Adrien persisted, “Hello! Cheese puffs, please!”
A plump woman in a red petticoat huffed behind Adrien, “Excuse me, young man. The line is back here.” She tapped her shoe impatiently, eager to pay for her box of overpriced chocolates.
Kim freed himself of the merchandise and made goo-goo eyes at the older woman in the petticoat. “I’ll settle for you, Rosy.”
“Hmm,” the woman sized up Kim. “And perhaps you could explain how your friend here is cutting in line?” She sneered at Adrien.
Kim reached out to grab the woman and plant a wet kiss.
Terrified, she blocked Kim’s lips with her box of chocolates.
The cashier screamed, “What the hell is happening?!”
Adrien threw up his hands. He didn't have the time to explain. He could never convince these boomers that his ancient Chinese ring, which housed a billion-year old genie, recharges its battery with the power of fondue.
He opted for plan B.
With a solid CRACK, Adrien walloped Kim across the jaw and sent him careening into a rack of stuffed, prehistoric animals.
“Ouch,” Adrien tried to shake the pain out of his hand. Punches were easier as Chat Noir.
He noticed the other patrons were giving astonished looks. Apparently brawls weren’t appropriate shopping etiquette.
“It’s fine,” Adrien, “Dude bashes his head against the wall for fun. He’s practically invulnerable.”
The other visitors outside the gift shop had begun to run for the exit. Two men had picked up stanchions from a roped-off exhibit and were fending off zombies with them.
Adrien caught Chloe Bourgeois out of the corner of his eye. She was pleading between a security guard and the woman at the reservation desk.
“Omg, like, I totally told you this would happen!” Chloe reprimanded, “Why didn’t you listen to me?”
The employee at the reservation desk screamed as a crazed Rose crawled over the front counter. The security guard interposed himself in front of Rose. He tried to restrain her, but with a quick kiss on his forearm, the guard seized up and began to turn.
Ladybug heard shouts from the top of the stairs, different from the various yelps of her zombified classmates. Had they reached the lobby so soon?
Her legs were burning from meticulously climbing so many flights without making a sound.
The good news; so was Alya and Juleka bringing up the rear.
Ladybug hadn’t caught sight of the polaroid camera, or of Zombizou yet. However, Ladybug noticed a peculiar red yo-yo wound tightly around Juleka’s waist.
Her yo-yo. Zombizou must have ordered her minions to collect it after Adrien and Ladybug made their retreat; likely an attempt to keep Ladybug from using the weapon against her.
That was their mistake.
Unable to purify the akuma without her yo-yo, Ladybug switched targets. Yes, she had to wrangle the camera away from Zombizou at some point, but using the element of surprise to retake her tool felt like an equal trade.
Now…how to do it?
Far away, Ladybug heard Adrien’s voice.
“Run! Zombies!” he cried.
He’d reached the top. If the zombies had any energy left, they’d break into a run and flood the atrium. And anyone trapped in the building… Uh oh.
Ladybug skipped up the next two steps. Juleka was just rounding the final flight of stairs when she froze, staring at Ladybug in disbelief.
“Ladybug? How did you—?”
Ladybug pressed against the wall and jumped up, vaulting onto the final landing. Alya, halfway through the door, spun around at the noise. On the other side of Alya, Zombizou raised an eyebrow.
Not wasting a second, Ladybug charged Juleka and pushed her against the stairwell. Ladybug used one hand to push Juleka’s face up and away from her own, careful not to place her fingers over the mouth. With the lips seemingly disabled, Ladybug worked on untying the yoyo with her free hand.
Juleka’s pushed and scratched in protest, but Ladybug had recovered the yoyo and stepped back.
Ladybug cracked the whip against the floor fiercely, and Juleka recoiled, second-guessing her approach.
“Hmm, if you want to join our party,” Zombizou chided, “you’ll need to behave. Alya! Block the door!”
The stairwell door slammed shut, and Ladybug’s eye twitched. So much for stealth.
“Alya Cesaire,” Ladybug said sternly “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”
Alya had pressed her lips against the glass window, making small humming noises.
Ladybug shook her head.
Behind her, the sound of Juleka’s sneakers scuttled into a charge. Ladybug deftly sidestepped and watched Juleka crash through the door and topple over Alya.
Ladybug stepped over the dazed girls, “I warned you.”
Zombizou had moved to the central atrium, and now stood next to the bathrooms Marinette had visited so long ago. Zombizou stared sharply at Ladybug proceeding down the hall. The teacher raised her polaroid camera and snapped a photo of Ladybug.
FLASH.
“Oh, Ladybug. What a sour expression. Why don’t you take a load off? All this superhero-ing must be simply dreadful!”
Ladybug continued walking steadily down the hallway, spinning her yo-yo. “Don’t worry. I will. AFTER I deal with your akuma.”
Zombizou sighed, “Oh please. You could be missing out on the love of your life! Why, even your precious Chat Noir seems to have abandoned you!”
A thought occurred to Ladybug.
Ladybug glanced over Zombizou’s shoulder and scanned the pandemonium beyond. A distinct yelp came from the snackbar in the giftshop. There, Ladybug spied Adrien defending a cashier girl from several zombified students. Adrien was hurling gopher plushies with mining hats that bounced harmlessly off the classmates. One lashed out, tearing his shirt. The cashier girl pulled him back over the counter to safety, but the students had them cornered.
Zombizou followered Ladybug’s gaze, “Hmm? Oh… perhaps there is someone who’s caught your eye?”
Ladybug flinched. She had Zombizou right where she wanted, but she couldn’t stand to watch Adrien in peril. It was like reliving the caverns all over again; an endless cycle of throwing away the mission to save her precious boy.
Zombizou laughed, “Oh my, I can see it in your eyes. This must be a real pickle for you. Want my recommendation? Life’s short; Live a little!”
Ladybug cursed under her breath. She could end this all right here. She wished she had Adrien’s instincts.
Stuck in decision paralysis, she watched in horror as a tattered Adrien scrambled through the coffee utensils for a new weapon. The cashier girl was cowering on the floor behind his leg. Adrien finally snatched an electric foam maker and tried to ward off the zombies.
He looked like a sad, French remake of the Army of Darkness poster.
FLASH. Zombizou cackled delightfully over another new polaroid.
“Ooo, the tumultuous concern written all over your face…How delicious!” Zombizou said
Like a chipmunk in a toaster, Adrien couldn’t hold out much longer. The zombies were crawling their way through more racks of furniture. For a brief moment, Adrien caught Ladybug’s eyes. Then he went back to shoving fistfuls of eclairs into Nino’s mouth, who had gotten tangled in a navy sweatshirt that read ‘You Rock!’
Zombizou sighed, dismissing Ladybug with a wave, “Oh, Ladybug. You’re so predictable, I can read you like a book! Go on, go save your little friend.”
Predictable… Ladybug thought. This entire day had been unplanned. Getting stuck with Adrien in the elevator. Learning his true identity. Barely escaping with their lives. Kissing him in the dark depths of a cold and mysterious cave. In Marinette’s wildest dreams, she’d never be able to coordinate something like that. But she’d rolled with the punches each step of the way.
If Zombizou thought she was predictable, that’d be her undoing.
Perhaps Chat Noir wild’s nature was just what she needed.
“Okay, sure!” Ladybug grinned smugly. “Alright, Zombizou. Pucker up!”
Ladybug wound up and slung her yo-yo in a straight line. With a roll of her eyes, Zombizou sidestepped, as she had done before in the Grotto below. The yoyo went wide, zipping onward and wrapping itself around a commercial trash can outside the gift shop.
Zombizou let out a mirthless laugh “Will you ever learn?” She shot one of her signature kisses at the tethered Ladybug.
Ladybug pulled with all her might against the taught cable. The tension slingshotted Ladybug directly toward Zombizou, and the oncoming kiss. Ladybug leaned back, spinning herself into a missile-like projectile.
She sailed right underneath the floating kiss, like two ships passing in the night.
Surprised, Zombizou only had time to kick her leg up, before the rocket-propelled-Ladybug swept it. The teacher fumbled to regain her balance. She hissed at Ladybug as she careened by.
“What do you think you’re doing?!”
“That’s my secret, Cap,” Ladybug laughed, “I don’t know what I’m doing.”
Ladybug skidded to a stop outside the gift shop, flying past the heavy trash can that traded spaces with her.
Zombizou had forgotten about the equal and opposite reaction.
With a solid SLAM, Zombizou bucked head first into the disposal bin.
“Aaaii! Gross!” Zombizous voice sounded like a metallic echo inside the can, “Why does it smell like cheese in here?”
As her shoulders braced her entire body from being deposited, Zombizou lost grip of the polaroid camera. It skidded across the atrium floor.
Acting purely on instinct, Ladybug ditched the camera and began judo-flipping the classmates surrounding the snack bar. She inched closer, making a path back to Adrien.
Reaching the cash register, she saw the carnage behind the bar.
Adrien was wrestling with Sabrina, the two of them covered in milk and condiments. It looked like Adrien had exhausted everything in the kitchen that wasn’t nailed down to defend himself. Either that, or he tried to bake a cake with his fists.
Nino, still garbed in cave merch, was having a full-faced conversation with the cashier girl. Soon this museum was going to have more zombies than a Michael Jackson music video.
Ladybug dragged Sabrina off Adrien by the collar. Like a dog, Sabrina relentlessly chomped back at Adrien.
“Ladybug!” Adrien beamed “You came back!”
Ladybug smirked, “Yeah. Couldn’t stand to see all these girls fighting over you.” She gave him a wink.
Kim and Mylene were climbing over the service counter now. Most of the classmates were swarming the gift shop. The rest of the zombified visitors? Who knows? Perhaps they had fled into the outside world by now.
It was time to end this.
Ladybug pushed Sabrina into Kim and Mylene, causing them to spill over a pile of cashews and whipped cream. Ladybug offered her hand to Adrien, and he graciously stood with her help.
Nino and the cashier girl had grown bored of trading saliva, and had turned back to grasp at Adrien’s sneakers.
“Yikes!” Adrien recoiled his foot. “Bro, Alya’s going to kill you if she finds out you kissed another girl”
“Whoooseee Alllyyaa?” the cashier girl droned
“Noboddy, she meeanns nothhing to me babe,” Nino droned back.
Adrien shot a concerned look at Ladybug, “Where’s the akuma?”
“Don’t worry,” Ladybug quipped “I left it right over….” but when she looked at the atrium floor, it was spotless. Well… mostly. There was candy, tattered clothing, puzzles, somebody’s purse with a lot of vitamins spilled out, and a bunch of litter from the garbage can.
But no polaroid. You know, the important thing.
“Uh… Gotta go!” Ladybug stepped onto the snack counter and lassoed her yoyo around a concrete pillar. She wrapped her arm around Adrien and swung like Indiana Jones out of the gift shop. They zipped by a sign that said ‘Our Gifts Have Sedimental Value!’
Ladybug and Adrien landed outside the reception counter. The entire entrance of the building had a glass facade. The evening sunset had begun to sink behind the forest's trees; golden light filtered through the smudgy glass doors and wreathed Adrien’s golden hair like a halo.
His mesmerizing eyes locked into Ladybug’s.
“You saved me, milady.”
“Duh,” she giggled. She gave him an earnest kiss.
She felt Adrien’s lips conform to hers, and the warmth returned. For a moment, time stood still. Adrien closed his eyes, and felt the light of the sun pale in comparison to the warmth of Ladybug’s embrace.
A mechanical click broke the eternal silence.
FLASH!
Ladybug and Adrien blinked their eyes open. Standing in an exhibit offshoot about limestone and erosion, a trash-caked Zombizou aimed the polaroid at the two of them. She had snuck away to the shadows, recovered the camera, but somehow had forgotten to take the banana-peel off her forehead.
Zombizou huffed, then snorted, until finally letting out into a deafening cackle. The polaroid slid out and into her diabolical fingers.
“Now that…” Zombizou snickered, “...Is a kiss to remember!”
“Did she get that on camera?” Adrien whispered. His face suddenly flushed red.
Ladybug wound up her yoyo for another try at the camera, but she saw Zombizou tense reflexively.
Right. Ladybug reminded herself. Predictable.
“Hey, Adrien. Mind helping me out?”
“Sure, what do you neeeAAAHAIAH!”
Ladybug grabbed Adrien by the arm and flung him directly into Zombizou.
Startled, Zombizou took a step backwards, but she already was flat up against the rock exhibit.
The flailing Adrien smashed into Zombizou, pancaking her face into the rock. It imprinted Ms. Bustier’s profile into the limestone for the next millenia. Adrien rolled off of her onto the floor, mostly just confused.
The camera clattered to the floor, and Ladybug dove for it. She clenched her hands around the leather strap, and lashed the camera against the museum floor.
The polaroid exploded into a hundred clattering pieces. At last, the manifestation of negativity, the akuma, fluttered into the air. It shed an eerie purple light across Ladybug’s face.
It almost brought a tear to her eye.
Before the sprite could fly away, Ladybug swiped it into her yoyo. The akuma rustled within the yoyo, until the purifying process was complete. When the tool stopped shaking, Ladybug knew it was safe.
“Bye-bye, little butterfly.” She said sweetly.
The purified butterfly floated out of the museum entrance through a shattered window. The sunlight shone through its thin wings, and she watched it disappear into the evening sky. She could already feel all the tension built up over the day dissipating.
“Miraculous Ladybug!”
With a brilliant flash of light, a feeling of calm emanated throughout the Grotto de Lascaux. A massive pulse of positive energy coursed through the forest and engulfed the surrounding sky.
Near and far, everyone affected by Zombizou’s infectious kiss had a sudden realization of clarity. In a second, their tattered clothes restitched. All the spilt candy and collectibles re-sorted themselves into their containers. Deep below the surface, a symphony of metal untwisted itself into an orderly vacuous tower of ingenuity as the elevator reformed. There, deep in the earth, the shattered rocks and spires reformed into their millennial majesty.
The world, as Marinette knew it, had returned.
When the light faded, Ladybug (still in her superhero attire) looked around.
She saw Adrien slowly stand to his feat. His hair was neat and his clothes were tidy. There wasn’t a scratch on him. But he was dazed, like he was still recovering from the rest of the Miraculous Cure. Glancing around the museum lobby, Ladybug saw her peers recover from their daze. She crept past all of them, checking to make sure everyone was in good condition. Satisfied with her work, Ladybug snuck back into the bathroom.
Outside, Alya and Juleka helped each other to their feet. Nino examined himself, free of the gift shop sweatshirt, and blushed when he saw the cashier girl readjusting her apron.
Nathaniel helped pick up a toppled sign. Rose shook hands with the security guard. Ivan stopped chomping on a granny’s leg.
Inside the bathroom, Ladybug made a cursory glance to make sure she was alone. She relinquished the energy of the miraculous and transformed back into Marinette.
With a heavy sigh of relief, she leaned against the sink. As she caught herself, she slowly raised her head to meet her reflection. Her eyes were tired, but she allowed herself a satisfactory smile after a hard day’s work. She ran some water to wipe the sweat off her brow.
Outside the restroom, she could hear the hoops and hollers of the classmates. Everyone began to cheer joyously about their new freedom from Zombizou’s curse.
“Yooo! I don’t have to kiss you dorks anymore!” Alix laughed.
“For real! My cheeks were starting to hurt!” Sabrina giggled.
“Uh, yeah! Totally! Soo exhausting.” Chloe coughed conspicuously.
Marinette let out a small giggle as she dried off her face. After what felt like an endless day, it was finally over. Sure, her and Adrien would have to work out the whole business with their identities. But that could wait. For now she’d saved the day.
And she had some smooching of her own to do.
Calmly, she walked out of the restroom. She was about to regroup with the others when she saw a small polaroid resting on the floor.
“Huh?” Marinette stooped down to pick it up.
It was a photo of her, or rather Ladybug, walking confidently down the hall twirling her yoyo into an energetic blur.
Weird. She thought. I thought you would have disappeared with the cure…
Marinette pocketed the photo. Hopefully, it was the only one. It’d be her little secret; a small memento of her craziest field trip.
Marinette rounded the corner to meet up with her class.
Then she saw them.
“Uh oh.” —-
After the events in the Grotto, Ms. Bustier’s class had regrouped and returned to the tour bus. Now, the vehicle sped along, piercing through the trees of the countryside.
Marinette rattled in her seat as the bus tires rumbled down the bumpy road. She sat alone, in front of Alya and Nino. Adrien sat across the aisle from her, also alone. They had decided to play it cool for now, each pretending nothing had happened between them that day.
She had been smiling and nodding to her fellow classmates for about ten minutes now, trying to pretend she wasn’t completely melting down on the inside.
Photos. All of the other students had photos. Everyone was waving, passing, and sharing their favorite polaroids from the field trip.
The girls were giggling to each other and taking pics with their phones that they would upload later. The boys were wheezing over something stupid.
Nino waved a photo in front of Adrien.
“Bro! This is the first pic Zombizou took after she got akumatized! Look, there’s Ivan, Kim, and Rose without their pants on!”
Adrien smiled weakly and took the photo, feigning innocence of any knowledge of the events.
Another photo passed around from Alix.
“And here’s one of Zombizou making out with the tour guide! Ooh-lala!”
Near the front of the bus, Ms. Bustier turned around, face beet red.
“Hey now,” she ordered, “Don’t be passing those around! Children? Children!”
There was a chorus of laughter from the boys.
Kim was rolling, “Dang, Ms. B, that’s a lot of tongue!”
Ms. Bustier curled up into a ball, imploding from embarrassment. “I am so fired,” she whispered.
People were still chuckling when Alya showed Marinette another photo.
“Girl, you missed out on so much. Look; this is when Adrien came down and distracted all of us, so Ladybug could set up an ambush at the top of the stairs! How amazing is that?”
Marinette gave Adrien a knowing look, “Wow… that’s very brave of you, Adrien.”
“Aw, it was nothing.” Adrien winked.
Alya nodded, “Honestly, it was probably the most amazing moment of the day. I mean superheroes collaborating with civilians to stop akumas? That kind of collaboration has unlimited potential! Think of how I could optimize the Ladyblog to help out Paris’s heroes!”
“That’s the most amazing moment of the day?” Nino snorted “Aren’t you forgetting this masterpiece?”
Nino handed his polaroid off to Marinette, and her face went white.
It was the photo.
“WHAT?!” Marinette squealed. She covered her mouth. Not because she didn’t know, but she’d forgotten this moment was immortalized by time.
Perfectly captured in center frame was the glorious kiss between Ladybug and Adrien, backlit by golden evening light.
Everyone watched with anticipation as Marinette sat in silence, eye twitching.
“Isn’t that friggin epic? My homeboy helped save the day, and got a kiss from Ladybug! And he didn’t even need to turn into a zombie” Nino was emphatic.
There were ‘Oos’ and ‘Aahs’ from the rest of the class. The others were pushing each other for just a glimpse at the photo.
“Whoa! Did she really kiss Adrien?”
“What? No way!”
“Yo, Ladybug’s got the hots for Adrien! Sick, bro!”
Alya nudged Marinette, teasingly, “Sure. I mean, who could resist Adrien?”
“Y-yeah, haha” Marinette said weakly. Her expression was frozen in shock. She swallowed hard, trying to move any facial muscle she could. She held the photo shakily in her hands.
Alya frowned, “You really missed out on a lot, Mari. What were you doing all that time?”
Marinette, still white in the face, met her gaze.
“I, uh… you know.. I… was….Bathroom.”
“‘You I-uh-waz-bathroom’?” Alya wheezed.
The other students roared with laughter.
Kim’s voice was so high pitched. He nearly screamed from laughter. “Damn, Marinette! You were pooping the whole time?”
“Somebody remember to get the grotto fumigated!”
“Maybe Ladybug cured that too!”
Chloe’s eyes squinted in scrutiny, and she leaned in.
“Wait, wait, wait. That’s bull. I went upstairs to warn everyone about the zombies. I even checked the bathroom. There was nobody in it!”
The snickers died down, as everyone looked at Marinette expectantly.
Marinette watched in horror as her cover story began to fall apart.
“I… You didn’t… Um… because…”
Only the bumps in the road and the sounds of the bus filled the excruciating silence.
“You probably didn’t see her in the bathroom,” Adrien smirked, “because she was too busy making out. With me.”
And Marinette thought the silence before was bad.
Chloe erupted, echoed by several other people. “SHE WHAT!”
Marinette snapped to look at Adrien, her arms grabbing the seats around her as though she physically needed to support herself. She gave him a panicked stare.
What are you doing? Marinette mouthed.
Adrien slowly got up, crossed the aisle, and plopped down next to Marinette. He carefully took the photo of Ladybug’s kiss out of Marinette’s hand and examined it for all to see.
He gave a small shrug, feigning indifference over the polaroid.
“Look… Ladybug’s great and all. No disrespect. But, Marinette’s got her put to shame.”
With that, Adrien casually ripped the polaroid in half; the proverbial idol smashed beneath Mt. Sionai.
The others watched in disbelief. Marinette glanced nervously at the other dozen gaping mouths. She could feel her stomach winding up, similar to the feeling she got whenever she was climbing up a roller coaster.
But Adrien wasn’t finished with his performance;
“Yeah, it’s been a secret for a while now. As a… Well, as a celebrity, I didn’t really want Marinette worried about the press or paparazzi. We just wanted to sneak away for a moment alone.”
Adrien just smiled at the group and glanced back at Marinette. He gave her another wink, totally confident his story would work.
Marinette just stared at him, her heart pounding. Judging by the other’s faces, only about half of them bought it. Most were still in disbelief Adrien had confessed he and Marinette were dating.
Surely, I have died. Thought Marinette. I never escaped the elevator, and my crumpled body is lying at the bottom of the shaft. I must be in heaven, if Adrien is publicly confessing his love for me.
Although, based on all the crippling nervous energy going through her, this could also be hell.
Chloe wiped away her astonishment, and got angry. She stood up and pointed an accusatory finger at Marinette.
“That still doesn’t explain why I didn’t see her in the girl’s bathroom!”
There was silence again, and all eyes were on Marinette and Adrien. Somehow, after everything that had happened today, this was the craziest moment of Marinette’s life.
As cool as a cucumber, Adrien peaked over the back of the chair. He raised a smug eyebrow.
“Did you check the boy’s?”
Realization dawned on Chloe’s face. Suddenly, it was true.
An eruption of gasps, cheers, and more uncontrollable laughter. Nino was fist bumping with Adrien and Alya was shaking Marinette’s seat like a gorilla.
The bus rolled down the highway, returning to Paris. For a stretch, the bumps in the road were outshadowed by the absolute pandemonium of celebration within the bus. Excitedly, the teens recounted their experiences as zombies. Of course, everyone had questions about Adrien and Marinette. Alya wanted to know more about how Ladybug got Adrien to help fight the akuma. Everyone continued to pass the photos and giggle as the sun eventually went down, and with it, the excitement.
The bus wouldn’t get back to the city until late, where their parents would be waiting for them. After the novelty of Marinette and Adrien getting together had faded, some students had fallen asleep. The cabin lights had dimmed, leaving the passengers in darkness. Most just resorted to their phones, uploaded pictures and commented on each other’s feeds. Ivan couldn’t help but loudly snore in the back row, causing Mylene and the girls to snicker. Alya curled up and nodded off against Nino, who quietly listened to music. Glowing from her phonelight, Ms. Bustier quietly updated her resume.
In the darkened quiet of the bus interior, Marinette leaned against Adrien. Their fingers entwined in a loving grip, resting on his leg. They hadn’t said much to each other in a while, but there was a mutual understanding that things would be different going forward. This was a whole new chapter in their life, one that made Marinette’s heart race anxiously…but also in a good way.
Adrien whispered quietly in her ear “Was that okay?”
Marinette hummed affectionately, “It was certainly something.” She squeezed his hand tighter. She still had to remind herself that it actually happened; he had actually said those words.
“I mean, would it really be so bad if we hooked up?” Marinette could hear the smile in his voice.
“Hmm,” she played along, pondering the thought, “Oh, I don't know. I can’t think of any reason it would be…Oh, what’s the word…unprofessional?”
Adrien caressed his thumb up and down her index finger.
“I’m not worried about that. We make a great team,” he whispered.
She whispered back, “I think we make a great couple.”
Marinette felt his hand on her chin, guiding her lips to his own.
The bus broke free of the treeline, and continued toward the Parisian city lights. It was a lovely night, the sky above a deep blue with lazy, wispy clouds that settled into a rust-red horizon. From far away, the building lights twinkled like fallen stars. The streets stretched wide enough for the lamps and cafe lights to illuminate them like diagonal rivers of light. A timeless moon shone brightly over the city. It bathed any and all who would bask in its presence with the same eternal light of our ancestors.
All of it absolutely riveting…unless your eyes were closed, kissing the love of your life.

@lacrimcrum A Starter for youuuuuu!!! From Kintaro to Lila!
_____________________________
Location: Temple of the Ox, Hidden Shinbaori Village Region: Mistral Time: 12:00 PM _______________________________
Tumblr media
Kintaro immediately threw his mace to the floor with a resounding boom coming from it, destroying the training dummy in front of him. Which he sighed softly, before pulling it back to him. Which he looked around at his surroundings before feeling a vibration beneath his feet turning around, looking at a familiar aura.
“Ah, Miss Lila, I was not expecting you to enter my domain.” The Ox faunus said.

Watching [Miraculous Ladybug; S5 E2: Multiplication]
It’s interesting kicking off the first and second episode right where Risk pt 2 left off.
What does Felix do exactly that warrants him a personal wikipage. Also that photo.
I do appreciate how they shut Su-Han down and stand up for themselves. Also, while silly, I appreciate how Su-Han admitted his mistakes.
Oh! Backup, that could and hopefully will be interesting
Felix’s dad’s name was Fathom...And I forgot that it was only a year since he died. Why did I think it was longer
Okay I guess that why Felix has a wiki page
I find it odd that Amelie called Cat and Ladybug by their upgrade names
I love their space outfits so much
Aw, no Kwami memories 😢
Oh and Adrien is having Felix and Marinette flashbacks
IDK, I just wanted a shot of his workstation
Tumblr media
Was that a smile Gabriel had
That statue moment is so awkward and Adrien really never goes back to it when he calls Marinette just a friend
The posing is a bit awkward, but I still like how they decided to do this shot
Tumblr media
Nathlie’s glare and Gabriel’s reaction, then Nathalie’s sweet look she gives to Adrien.
So everyone gets to know that Alix will be gone and be a hero!? Like just to stop and  think about how big a responsibility Alix has, like it weighs a lot. It’s so funny how a miraculous as important and big a duty the bunny miraculous holds that it’s just a second miraculous to the main key two miraculous (good luck & bad luck) and just not on its own.
Mrs. Bustier is visibly pregnant!
Mylene and Ivan are such a cute couple
Its been a while since we’ve seen Gorillas hasn’t it?
Adrien really went in for a kiss
Also The Hawk Moth punching dummies.
I feel like I’m going to hate and love that later in the season
I really enjoy how it’s being demonstrated that people are going on with things since nothing has been happening
I think this is the first time we’ve seen Marinette close her eyes and think where and what she needs to uses.
There are a lot of noises happening this episode.
Tomoe’s talisman looks like it belongs to Marinette herself save for the white in the center
Tomoe is working with Gabriel for the Miraculous now! I wonder what she gains out of this. Also is this also going back to when the temple came back and Gabriel, Nathalie, Tomoe and Audrey where all shown looking at the tv? Is Audrey going to get involved?
Okay but like I actually like the phone in the ring thing
We’re getting a legit commercial. I know this was done before but this one really sells it
Also Gabriel looks good in all white. Like even his hair and eyebrows
I guess Gabriel asked Adrien to do one last commercial
I know I poke fun at Gabriel’s outfit in this episode, but man the reaction has been
Okay even Adrien realized what was wrong with Gabriel’s statement there. But also do people have to have Adrien and Lila on their rings. Really?
You wonder why Felix was on the end card, but then he pops up.
Okay so Amelie doesn’t really know, she just thinks Felix is simply afraid of Ladybug and Cat, not that he has the peacock miraculous
And Duusu is back, but did Felix have to out creepy Gabriel there when he said that line.

Re diabolical plans:
There's a strange inability to handle the concept of stakes in ML. It's all or nothing every time. They don't venture into mid-range stakes that would allow villains like Gabe or Chloé to 'win' and feel more like threats than practice dummies.
Lila somewhat gets around this by being teflon.
Ye like at this point it’s hard to give a crap bc the villains win bc whatever who cares the plot wants them to, not bc it’s earned in any measure

While her X-Factor run keeps getting bigger and better, Simonson's New Mutants run is just getting started. Issue 55 opens with much lower stakes, as the kids are getting ready to go to a launch party for Lila's new album. I love their idea of punk rock outfits. When he sends them off, Max tells them their curfew is 1 am, which they're all disappointed at but it's later than any curfew I've ever had and proves that Max is a cooler teacher than Xavier. At the party, Rahne and Doug flirt a little. It's cute, and probably wouldn't have happened if Warlock was there, but he's still chilling with the Angels at this point. Sam is having a miserable time, feeling out of place and inadequate in Lila's world. Some of Lila's alien friends offer him some pills that'll help get his confidence back up, and he takes them, because even team leaders are dummies sometimes. Little does he know one of these guys is Lila's ex, and he's been trying to convince her to come back to the thieving game. Their big plan is to drug Sam, kill him, and dump his body in the river, which they hope will get Lila to come back to their gang. Kinda a weird plan. Anyway, it doesn't work, cause Sam's teammates see them fly off with his unconscious body and chase after him, ending in a battle in the middle of the city which causes some property damage to a tower on an island in the bay. Lila shows up and explains the situation and renounces her former friends, and she and Sam get a nice little happy ending. This was not a super great start for Simonson. I think what she's doing is trying to bring back the coming of age vibes from the beginning of the book to make Fall of the Mutants hit even harder, which isn't a bad idea, but if you're gonna do that you should fully commit and not toss in some random homicidal aliens. Also, over in X-Factor she's been preparing for Fall by continuously ramping up the stakes, which makes this story seem more lackluster. And I don't think this issue says anything about the Sam and Lila relationship that wasn't covered in the Sam Goes Home issue. Simonson does have a good voice for the whole cast, though, and once she finds her footing things will get better.
This is the first Amara focused issue since her initial introduction. Simonson has a much better take on her than Claremont did, to be honest. Under her pen, Amara is struggling to find a place to call home. She's recently gotten a letter from her father saying she needs to come home and get married, but she doesn't want to give up the freedom she's found here. She left home to find her place in the wider world, but she still hasn't really found it. Unfortunately, she's changed enough that her old home doesn't appeal to her either. In Claremont's run, Amara was just good at everything, and then he got distracted by Illyana and didn't do anything else with her. Simonson takes that characterization and says "okay, what's underneath that?" The answer we see is that Amara is good at adapting to her surroundings, so everyone assumes she's comfortable, but on the inside she's never really happy. Recently, she's been drawn to the Hellions as a possible new home, in particular to Empath, who she has a sick crush on. She'll have to confront that soon, when the kids see on the news that a creature named Bird Boy was being held captive in a tower in the city that they damaged in their fight against those aliens last issue. They decide to go track him down to fix their mess. Across town, the Hellions haven't yet left the city, and they see the same news report and assume it's some plan by the New Mutants that they should foil. The two teams find Bird Boy at the same time and start chasing him and fighting. I have already written and accidentally deleted this post like three times now, so I'm gonna gloss over the finer points of the plot, which isn't that interesting anyway. In the end, the Hellions hold Dani hostage. Amara demands her release, and when Empath tries to control her, he's shocked to see she can resist him. It's enough to persuade him to let Dani go willingly, right before Sam catches up to Bird Boy and Illyana ports everyone home. It seems like a happy ending, until Amara tells the team that she's transferring to the Hellions. A team member defecting from one team to the other is a no-brainer for a new direction for the rivalry, and Amara is a great choice for the one to do it. I do wish she had feelings for James instead, who apart from not being a rapist seems like he'd be more her type. But other than that it's a great story.
The next issue starts the next day, when Max discovers Bird Boy. He scans him with their little Cerebro scanner thing, which identifies him as neither a human or mutant. The New Mutants want to investigate further, but Max makes them go study for midterms instead, which is much less fun. They do get a break to say goodbye to Amara, who tells them she needs to find a new direction and a new challenge. They're sad to see her go, but take a little comfort in the fact that the Hellions are technically their allies now. Bird-Boy, who they rename Bird-Brain for some reason, seems to have human intelligence but absolutely no sense of how human society works. Rahne is obsessed with him, which makes Doug jealous and unwilling to try to communicate with Bird-Brain. The kids have the brilliant idea of taking their new friend to the mall, which backfires immediately and gets them grounded. But for Rahne's sake, Doug finally talks to Bird-Brain, and is able to sort of communicate, although his language doesn't resemble to conventions of any human language. Rahne is thrilled and hugs Doug, which makes him very happy, and Max allows Bird-Brain to join the team.
Very slowly, Rahne and Doug are able to start teaching Bird-Brain English. They discover he loves burgers and hates any images of zoos. After a bunch of wacky misunderstandings, Bird-Brain looks up at the full moon and breaks out the window. He steals a bunch of junk food and starts flying towards the ocean, until the kids are able to stop him. Doug is finally able to put the pieces together: Bird-Brain was created on an island along with other creatures like him. The full moon is the night of his and his friends' final test, and if they fail they're fed to monsters. Bird-Brain escaped, but he wanted to go back to save his friends, or at least feed them. The New Mutants decide they can't let him go alone, so Illyana ports them all to Bird-Brain's island, where they're immediately confronted by monsters. Oh also, at some point during this issue, Illyana teleported her brother to the X-Men to team up with them, which we'll see in Uncanny 225. It was not mentioned here but it becomes important in a couple issues. It does suck that there's not a seamless crossover, but that's to be expected now that the books have different writers. And now that Simonson is writing it, New Mutants and X-Factor will start to enjoy the synergy that this book used to have with Uncanny.

don’t steal adrien’s phone - a fanfiction by miraculous_carnation
hi yall! this amazing piece of art isnt unfortunately done by me- it’s by the ultra charming miraculous_carnation on ao3, so be sure to check her out! i’ve gotten her permission to post this here, so dont worry! enjoy the show!
Lila Rossi posed for the camera, putting on a flirty face, Adrien sitting next to her. They were at the Palace of Versailles, the place for their photoshoot. Lila hugged Adrien in a way that made him uncomfortable, running her hands across his back. The photographer, noticing Adrien’s discomfort, asked them to take a 5 minutes break.
Lila walked to where Adrien was sitting. “So, Adrien! The photos are going to look awesome, right? I mean, we look so in love!”
Adrien’s eyes opened wide when he heard her voice. “Um, Lila? I know I’ve said this a lot, but can you please stop touching me? It makes me uncomfortable, and I already have a girlfriend,” Adrien tried to explain.
Lila narrowed her eyes at his last statement. Ugh, that Maritrash. What did Adrien see in her?
“Oh of course, Adrien! I’d never want to do something that would make you feel uncomfortable,” she whispered, leaning towards his mouth. Adrien grew stiff. Luckily, the photographer called for them just in time. Lila rolled her eyes, but then put on a fake smile.
“Oh well, anyways, we better go back, Adrien! We have to finish the shoot!”
Adrien hated photoshoots with Lila. They were the worst. Luckily, it was only for another 30 minutes, because after that, he had an interview with Nadja Chamack on Face to Face.
Lila hid behind a bush, watching Adrien get up and head toward the photoshoot. Perfect. She ran over to the table and picked up his phone.
“Well, Adrien, let’s see who you really love,” she smirked.
“Welcome back to, Face to Face! This is your host, Nadja Chamack, live in Paris!” Nadja Chamack enthusiastically said while the audience clapped. “Today, we have a very important guest. He’s a model, born here in Paris, ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the son of world famous designer Gabriel Agreste, Adrien Agreste!”
2 seconds later, Adrien walked onto the stage, wearing a suit, created specially by his father, strutting in the way his father taught him when he was little. ‘Flash a flirty smile to the audience, then greet Nadja Chamack professionally’, his father’s words repeated in his mind. His father cared about his appearance and reputation, after all…
“Hello there, Nadja! How are you doing today?” Adrien politely asked. He wished he could be somewhere else, particularly running around as CHat Noir, maybe playing a game of tag with Ladybug…
“Oh, well I’m doing wonderful!” Nadja responded, snapping Adrien out of his daze. “Anyways, I’ve got a bunch of questions for you! First one, are you dating Lila Rossi, a fellow model from your father’s company? Are the rumors true?”
Adrien sighed. There were so many rumors about that going around, many of them created by Lila. She already convinced the class that they were dating, when he actually was dating Marinette.
“Sorry, Nadja, but that is incorrect. I am not dating Lila Rossi, but I am dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng, of who you may know.”
Nadja smiled at the name of her friend’s daughter. “Yes, I know Marinette, I commissioned her to create a dress for Manon for my sister’s wedding, and it came out beautiful! Everyone in the audience, go check out Marinette’s website!”
Lila Rossi was watching the Face to Face interview, fuming. She didn’t know he had an interview! How dare Adrien say that! She’d ruin his relationship with Marinette! She tapped into his phone, already knowing his password, courtesy of his father. Gabriel Agreste gave her access to all of his son’s social media accounts for safety reasons. She logged onto his Instagram account and made a new post, adding the photo of Lila kissing him on the cheek.
“So grateful for my girlfriend @lilarossi! Love you!”
She smirked. No way he was getting out of this one.
Nadja Chamack was confused. Apparently, a new post from Adrien on Instagram was posted just now, but how was it possible? Adrien was talking to her the whole time!
She coughed. “Adrien, it seems that there has been a new post on your Instagram,” Adrien looked shocked, “can we have the post on the screen?”
Adrien’s eyes grew wide as he saw the post. “Nadja, I didn’t post that! I couldn’t-”
“I know you didn’t, Adrien. You’ve been talking to me the whole time right now!”, Adrien let out a sigh of relief, “Is it possible your social media team did it?”
Adrien shook his head. “No, they don’t put out posts like that. They only put out posts that promote the brand!”
“So if it wasn’t your social media team, who was it?” Nadja said in confusion. There were several murmurs in the audience as well.
Adrien narrowed his eyes. “Well, I have a hunch. What is the post about?”
Nadja caught on with his thinking. “Oh, so you believe Lila Rossi posted this? How would she have gotten your phone?”
Adrien thought about what happened before the interview. “Well, you see, before coming here, I had a photoshoot with Lila. She probably took my phone then.”
Gabriel Agreste was watching from the safety of his home. Lila Rossi had not thought about this beforehand! She was going to ruin his plan and his brand! How dare she!
Nathalie walked in. “Sir, would you like me to delete the post and disable Adrien’s social media accounts?”
“Yes, Nathalie. Have Adrien’s social media team clean up the mess.” Gabriel sighed. The only good thing that came out of this was that he figured out his son was dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It was a good choice, as Marinette was exceptional.
Lila’s eyes grew wide at the revelation. She posted about herself on Adrien’s account when he was in an interview! It made her the prime suspect! Hopefully Mr. Agreste’s social media team could take the blame.
She dialed Mr. Agreste’s number. “Hello, is Mr. Agreste there?”
She was greeted with the monotone voice of Nathalie. “Excuse me, Miss Rossi, but Mr. Agreste has decided to terminate your contract on behalf of Gabriel. You will never model in his brand again. Goodbye.”
Lila gasped. How dare that dumb assistant! She was Lila Rossi! How dare Gabriel Agreste do that to her! She would ruin him!
“On top of recent events, Lila Rossi has lied about many things. She even got Marinette expelled once!” Adrien explained to Nadja, excited that he found a way to expose Lila.
Marinette was watching all of this from the comfort from her room, her mouth wide open. Well, she wasn’t super surprised, Lila would do something like this, but Adrien called her his girlfriend! Sure, they were dating, but she didn’t think he would announce it publicly!
Girl, are you watching Face to Face? Can you believe Lila lied?
Hold up, you’re dating Adrien? Why didn’t you tell me?
Girl, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me. I thought we were BFFs!
Marinette snorted at the latter. BFFs? Yeah, right. Alya literally announced to the class two weeks ago that their friendship was over and that her new best friend would be Lila. Go figure!
“Wow. As you can see, ladies and gentlemen, startling revelations about the newest Gabriel model has come through! Hold on, we have a new post from the official Gabriel Twitter account! Can we please have this on the screen?” Nadja exclaimed.
Adrien read the post, not surprised. Of course his father would try to save face. It wasn’t new. He was just happy he wouldn’t have to model with Lila anymore.
The audience and Nadja gasped when they read the post. “Wow! It looks like the Gabriel brand has officially terminated Lila Rossi’s contract!” Nadja had to act surprised because this was predictable from the fashion designer. Typical Gabriel.
“Well, folks! There was a lot of drama today, but that concludes today’s interview! I hope you come again for another episode of, Face to Face!” Nadja concluded.
Bonus Scene:
“Well, Adrien, you made a good choice with Marinette. She could take over the designing area of the company while you take over the business side. When will you marry her?”
“FATHER!”
“Well, kid, he’s not wrong. Pigtails makes pretty good bread. And oh how good it tastes with camembert! Oh my sweet gooiness!”
“Shut up, Plagg.”
