Yeah short skirts and crop tops are sexy— but there’s just something about a man that finds you so attractive wearing clothes that shouldn’t be considered typically sexual. Like baggy sweats or his old, worn shirt.
Those plain, boring outfits that aren’t planned and are just thrown together for comfort and practicality that have his dick throbbing for you as he imagines bending you over the nearest surface.

I feel guilty cause I've been loyal to Jungwon for a while (except that one time I told you abt my other crush if u still remember.. the one I moved on from) but I'm happy really happy with her. we don't really do anything besides (the skinship) and I'm contented with that. I want it to stay that way. I'm sorry Jungwon😔 (watch me go back to Jungwon after I get my heartbroken for the 239239229th time)

this deleted itself but the req was for an ill reader who likes to try and carry on even if they feeling shit and tom noticing I think?!?
Summary:  you take start to feel a bit shit  at toms family barbecue and get caught out and taken care of
///////////
It should've be lovely, an evening in the rare but much appreciated British summer sun in Dom and Nikki’s garden. Everyone was there; all the Holland boys; both sets of Tom’s grandparents; Haz and his long time girlfriend Lucie. It was a reunion of sorts, although no one had been away working, you’d somehow all timed your individual holidays simultaneously. You and Tom to Australia; Sam and Harry to south-east Asia; Paddy, Dom and Nikki to Sweden. Having all returned in the space of a week, everyone was catching up, involving great British barbecues (which are always a little disappointing) and a fair amount of booze.
You were sat on the garden furniture with Tessa (Tom’s grandma), Nikki and Lucie. Very much a ‘girl power’ meeting if ever there was - which in a family full of boys was often needed just to keep the peace. Everything about the evening was lovely… except perhaps your body. God knows why, because you rarely got ill - having not had a day off work in two years. As much as you’d been trying to push away the slow creeping feeling for a couple of hours - it was now getting impossible to ignore. The slightly unsettled feeling in your stomach had you fidgeting in the wooden chair constantly, trying to ease it by shifting positions... to no avail.
“Y/n… Y/n?” Looking up to see three pairs of beady eyes trained on you, you faked a smile, looking over to Nikki who had been calling your name. “Tess was asking how long the flight back was?” “Oh sorry, was miles away!” You tried to cover, shifting once again, this time pressing a hand to your lower abdomen in the hope that’d distract you as you turned slightly to make eye contact with Tessa. “And I think 11 hours ish.” The girls all pulled a grimacing face in sympathy, to which you chuckled at. “No no honestly cos Tom spoiled me completely so we were in the fancy seats, I honestly was spark out of it the whole time!”
It was enough of a response for the girls to all nod, carrying on the conversation as you, now not the main focus, rubbed your pulsing temple with your other hand - in the hope to relieve some of the building pressure. Clearly, though, you weren’t a subtle as you thought - since Lucie got your attention by bumping your shoulder and leaning in closely. “Come to the loo with me?” It sounded like a question, though it very much wasn’t - the stern look in her eye enough to scare you into agreeing. With a word to Nikki and Tess, you both stood up and made your way to the inside, not stopping until you were locked into the thankfully spacious downstairs loo - the brunette eyeing you intently. “You look like shit.” “Thanks Luc, that’s exactly what I needed to hear right now.” You sighed, sitting on top of the closed lidded loo heavily. “What’s up?” Her tone was harsh and to the point, but secretly there was a look of worry in her eyes. She was one of your best mates but sometimes could also scare you shitless. “I think I’m just tired, it’s my stomach and my head, I’ll be fine.”
Lucie didn't really seem to believe you, but respected your stubbornness and after providing you with two paracetamol capsules from her bag, she let you off - both going back into the garden, where, by now Sam was plating up the slightly charred burgers.
Naturally, you’d sat next to Tom, who had pulled your chairs right next to each other - so that his leg was pressed up against yours, his arm pulled around your shoulder. That was just Tom, away from the prying eyes of the public and media, he really was an affectionate person. He just liked to feel you there. God knows how long you all sat in those same positions, but it was long enough for the sun to set. In fact, you most definitely weren’t the person to ask, because at some point, unbeknownst to you, you’d zoned out. Nobody had noticed, under the cover of the low sunset light, until Tom felt your head briefly fall against his shoulder before it shot up once again - your eyes blinking heavily.
He frowned at the sight, seeing you huddle your arms across your body, which was bizarre due to the unbelievable hot weather in London. Yes, it might have shifted into nighttime, but it was still at least 24 degrees. So as his Dad had the entire table captivated recounting some long and complex tale of his touring days, Tom took the opportunity to squeeze your shoulder - grabbing your attention.
“You alright love?” In response you just hummed, eyes shifting up to him after a little delay - similar to how your reflexes became stunted with alcohol, though Tom suddenly realised you’d barely had more than half the glass of beer he’d poured you when you’d both arrived. “ I’said are you okay?” “Yeh… yeh I’m fine.” You forced a small tight lipped smile, whilst Tom took his arm that was round his shoulder to rest on the crown of your head before slowly stroking down your hair. “Sure? You seem a little out of it?” He pushed, still in a whisper so as not to draw attention to the two of you. “Maybe just tired.” Flat out lying, you shifted back into the backrest of the chair a little more making his hand accidentally land on your forehead rather than your hairline. He didn't move it though, instead sitting and swivelling in his chair, pressing the other side of his hand to the skin as well. “You’re burning up Y/n/n” he spoke a little louder - eyes full of concern as he looked you up and down. “No I’m a bit cold if anythin-“
That was when Nikki, from across the other side of the table got involved. She’d obviously been silently observing the two of you, now feeling the need to send you both home. “Oh, we forgot dessert! Tom, Y/n would you mind helping me bring it out?” Thank god for Nikki, for finding a cover story and stopping everyone's eyes on you. Because for someone dating, three years deep, an A-lister - you hated any sort of attention, even from those closest to you. Especially sympathy, you had absolutely no time at all for that.
Leading you into the kitchen with his arm wrapped tightly around your waist, Tom waited till the door was shut before turning to you.- claiming you were boiling and looked not so great. “I’m just a bit cold if I can borrow one of sam’s jumpers then-“ “Love, please go home.” Nikki interrupted as she wormed past Tom to put her own hand on your forehead too. “You’ve got the chills and you’ve not been normal all day. Am I right or am I right?” She was the worst to argue against. That was completely due to the fact she was always right. With a defeated nod from you, she clicked her tongue, pushing you to sit down on one of the barstools. “Tom go get a jumper from Sam’s room and order a taxi, I would drive but we’ve all been drinking.” “I can just go back by myself T, you don’t get to see your grandparents a lot and -“ “I love you but please please shut up.” Having rounded the back of your chair he pressed his lips to your temples as confirmation before scurrying off to the back of the house.
“You know he doesn’t mind at all? My son never was at my beckon call like he is with you.” There was a little smile teasing the corner of her lips as Nikki placed a glass of water in front of you, as though instructing you to take small sips. “I just feel bad, he’s always telling me how he regrets not spending more time with all of you and… well I’ve had him to myself for the fortnight in South Africa.” “Your just as much a part of the family as me or his grandparents are okay? Now when you get home..”
Nikki switched the tone to then list off all manners of ways that you needed to look after yourself once back, which she then repeated as soon as Tom returned with a black hoodie that you gratefully pulled over your head.
//////////////
By the time you got home, you were feeling so incredibly shit you weren’t even considering keeping up your brave face. Tom had wordlessly led you up the path to your shared home, unlocking the door and telling you to go straight to bed.
Perhaps he was so concerned because in the whole three years together he’d never ever seen you ill. Yes, the odd headache or whatever, as well as the occasional morning after the night before when you’d opted for a ‘tactical chunder’ to try and protect your modesty. But other than that, you were always the one being sympathetic to him. When he was tired, both emotionally and mentally from work; when he hurt his knee and was on forced bed rest for a couple of days ( which turns out to be the hardest time for you too, dealing with the whiny and fidgety boy man).
He came up a couple of minutes later, by which point you’d already pulled joggers on and wrapped yourself as tightly in the duvet as physically possible. If felt so bloody cold your teeth were actually chattering as you curled up into the smallest ball possible. In his hands was a small tray, carrying a steaming mug; a collection of all the different pill packets you kept in the medicine cabinet (as Tom himself had no idea which one was right so decided to use them all); a hot water bottle and what looked like a damp towel, all scrunched up.
No matter how shitty you felt you had a smile at how sweet and doting Tom was being... and as much as you hated the sympathy - if it was always given by a ripped and beautiful brunette with the sharpest jawline you’d ever seen… well just maybe you could get used to it. After snatching the hotwater bottle up immediately, then letting Tom fuss over you in every which way he wanted you gave in, losing the ability to entertain his puppy energy.
“Can we just go to sleep please?” You whined, which Tom nodded to - quickly getting changed and ready before joining you in bed.
As soon as he felt the way the bed was practically vibrating with the chills you were suffering from, he pulled you up into his chest. Now you had both your own personal heater and a hot water bottle to try and warm you up. “You wake me up if you need anything kay?”
Pressing a kiss into the crown of your head, which was nestled between his shoulder and neck. “Promise me ‘kay?” Him needing the reinforcement caused you to arch back up, looking deep into his brown eyes with the warm glow of his bedside table lamp. “You’re too good to me Tommy.” He tutted at that, bringing his hand up to cup your cheek.
“Oh no” He whispered exclaimed, making you immediately ask him what in response. “I think this fever is making you go all delusional love.” You quirked your head, causing him to continue with a cheeky grin. “Well for one, nothing would be too good for you darling and two…. When the hell have you ever called me ‘Tommy’” With him chuckling at his own joke, you rolled your eyes at his cheekiness, firmly planting your head back on his shoulder as if to shut him up. “Alright, I’ll let you off just this once cos your all feverish… get some sleep love.” “Thankyou Tommy.” “Shh love.”
And that’s how you fell asleep, finally finding a bit of warmth in Tom’s arms.
Safe to say he very much didn’t sleep so well. Yes, you felt cold - but Tom was bloody boiling. Still he didn't move because if you were comfortable, his discomfort didn’t matter. It was also a physical impossibility for him to relax until he felt (yes, technically not the most scientific way) your fever coming down. Every five minutes or so he’d gently press the back of his hand to your forehead. This boy was so whipped for you... but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Big Enough for Both of Us | JJK
Tumblr media
~summary: his jumpers are going missing. And ending up on you. An annoying amount of books, some very cold weather and an admin mix-up later, will things change between you and Jungkook? Jungkook x reader (she/her pronouns) ~word count: 4.7k ~college au, fluff, getting together Rating: pg13 Warnings: one (1) swear, suggestive conversation and misunderstandings ~a/n: another bingo square, this time for ‘oversized hoodies/sweaters’ as an early Christmas present for you all!
Tumblr media
You were shivering as you turned the keys to your locker, barely balancing the stack of books in your arms as you did so. Not wearing a jacket today was something you were sorely regretting, muscles groaning in protest from the cold and the weight you had lugged here.
The squeak of the old locker was the most welcome things you had heard all day, already preparing to shift the cursed pile of books off your struggling arms.
But as the door clanged softly open, all you could do was stare.
Something was already there.
Despite the pressing problem of the books weighing you down, you paused to look up and down the corridor. No one. Frowning, you peeked around to see the front of the locker door. This was definitely your locker, right?
Number 267. That was right.
Only, you had never used this locker before in your life. It had taken you until now, in December, to open it for the first time, even though you had started at college months back.
So the piece of black fabric sitting there, neatly folded, innocuous enough in any other situation, was a real curveball for you.
As you pondered, the top book on your tower decided to make a break for it, arms reminding you just how tired they were when you moved to catch it. Sighing, you leaned forwards and let them fall from your arms, right on top of the sweater.
You were pretty sure it was a sweater.
Whoever had this locker last year probably left it there by accident. It probably stunk by now, too.
Whether that was the case or not, you never got to investigate. A buzzing from your phone alerted you that your first lecture was about to start, your friend Namjoon asking where you were. So, without a second glance at the jumper, you slammed the door and rushed away.
It wasn’t until two classes later that it resurfaced in your thoughts.
The heating must have been broken in that class, or else your professor just liked to see you suffer. Throughout the lecture, you had been slowly freezing, resorting to rubbing your hands over your arms to ease your goosebumps.
And now that you piled out of the hall into the already dimming light, you found it was colder still.
The library was halfway across campus, and you were due to meet Namjoon there to make a start on your essays. Right about now, that mystery sweater did sound very tempting. And you did have to go back to your locker anyway to get the books, right?
Placing the stack by your feet, you stared at the material. It had been a bit flattened by the weight that had sat on it all day, but it looked clean at least.
Reaching in, you picked it up at the shoulder between one finger and thumb and leant in to smell it.
The first sniff returned a pleasant surprise. Nothing. Holding it in both your hands now, you brought it right up to your face, almost touching, and tried again.
It actually smelled good.
Come to think of it, it felt very soft between your fingers too.
Cold clutched so tightly onto your bones at this point that you couldn’t wait to get another layer on, so you stuck your arms inside. Sighing, you noted it must be quite new given how soft it still was.
You had got lucky.
Shaking the sleeves down, they fell way over your hands. The hem also came very low, nearly to your knees, but honestly, that felt like a bonus.
And so, lifting up the pile of books, you felt a little lighter (and much warmer) as you stepped out to meet Namjoon with your new big, soft jumper.
Tumblr media
“I would say sorry I’m late, but I blame you,” you quipped as you slid into the chair beside Namjoon, depositing the books onto the desk with a loud thud, “were this many really necessary?”
Looking up at you from his own book, Namjoon had the decency to look a little apologetic as he laid eyes on the huge stack.
“Ah – yes – sorry,” he stuttered, “they did all look helpful. I suppose we’d better get through them all today so we can return them?”
Even his dimpled smile couldn’t stop you from groaning and flopping down onto your folded arms. Laughing, he pulled the first book off the pile, undeterred.
“I need coffee for this,” you mumbled.
But as you made to get up, Namjoon tugged you back down by your sleeve.
“You should make a start,” he fixed you with a look, “let’s go to the cafeteria later.”
Closing your mouth, you eyed up the intimidating pile of books. Of course, Namjoon knew you all too well, and was right. If you didn’t start working now, you could procrastinate for ages.
But you did want that coffee…
“If we wait til later, Jungkook will be there!”
Namjoon’s words had left his mouth the moment he saw you preparing to speak, and had snatched the argument right from your lips.
“Wh-what?” you spluttered, “What does that have to do with it?”
A knowing smile rested on Namjoon’s face as he placed a book in front of you.
You flipped it open and got to work.
Tumblr media
Namjoon’s wish to get through all the books by closing time was a distant daydream. Half the books still sat untouched, and your essay still had a way to go.
Nonetheless, you weren’t going to stay slaving away all night. You made sure Namjoon remembered his earlier promise of coffee… although you didn’t mention the part about Jungkook.
Naturally, he was there anyway. Namjoon smirked as he left your side with his coffee order, waiting for you to stop staring at his friend and notice he was gone.
It took longer than you would care to admit.
Jungkook was a music student, and since Namjoon fancied himself a producer, he spent enough time in the department that he essentially was too, meaning he had a group of friends there as well as from his own course. And of course the boy you had been silently crushing on in the cafeteria since day one was one of them.
Unfortunately for you, Namjoon hadn’t prepared you for this when he decided to introduce you one day, and you had practically forgotten your own name as you found yourself suddenly in front the gorgeous Jungkook.
And just to add insult to injury, he had been really sweet to you.
Really, he was just asking you to fall for him.
You had promptly decided to stay away from him as much as you could help it. Until you were ready, you told yourself.
Which wouldn’t be anytime soon, given the way your cheeks combusted as he smiled over at your table. While Namjoon waved back, you studied your coffee cup very intensely.
“He’s gone,” Namjoon let you know, swinging back in his chair to take a swig of coffee.
Which was too hot.
And was now all over the table.
After your initial jump from your seat, all you could do was laugh as your friend started frantically mopping up the liquid, using already sodden napkins.
“Do you need some help?”
At the voice behind you, your jaw snapped shut.
Jungkook walked past you, grin splitting his face as he laughed at his hyung too.
“Thanks, Jungkook,” Namjoon chuckled.
You ran off to get more napkins.
On your return, you quickly helped clear the rest of the mess, rescuing your own drink from the pool on the tabletop. Seeing Namjoon had his things together, you also scooped up your bag. But no books.
Looking around for the godforsaken pile, you found them sitting in Jungkook’s arms.
“Oh, thanks,” you muttered, “I can take those, if you want-“
“It’s okay,” he beamed (would he ever stop smiling, he might make you drop down dead-).
“We’re getting the same bus, so I might as well bring them tomorrow,” Joon clapped his shoulder, “saves you breaking your arms again, right Y/N?”
“My arms weren’t breaking!” you scoffed, folding them against your chest.
“So you want to take them?” Jungkook raised a brow at you.
You blinked at him.
Then huffed and rolled your eyes.
“No…”
Laughing loudly, Namjoon led the two of you out of the cafeteria.
Tumblr media
It was a good thing Jungkook carried the books. If this morning was anything to go by, you wouldn’t have enjoyed another walk with them.
Hugging your borrowed sweater around you a little more, you picked up the pace.
How Jungkook could have been outside in just that t shirt blew your mind. It was freezing.
Tumblr media
“Can I borrow your locker key?” Namjoon whispered from the seat beside you.
“Why?” you hissed back, keeping your eyes forwards.
“Mine’s full,” he replied, “and we still have all these books.”
“We really had to get them all out at once, didn’t we?” you sighed, already digging in your bag for your keys.
“Someone else might have done otherwise!” Joon protested.
Underneath the desk, you passed him the keys.
“Number 267, okay?”
“Thanks.”
Tumblr media
Once again, you had made very poor clothing choices. To be fair to you, the weather was supposed to have gotten warmer, so you had only put on a thin jumper. The outfit certainly looked good, but other than that, it was a bad idea. Tomorrow, you would put on a coat. Or maybe that jumper you had found yesterday…
Dashing between buildings to fetch the books again, you were convinced you might get hypothermia. The wind was biting across the already chilled air, sky an unforgiving grey above.
Inside, you fumbled with your key, fingers stiff with cold.
You hadn’t seen Joon since your first lecture, except when he ran past your study spot to throw your keys at you – literally – on his way to the music studios. You were lucky to still have both your eyes.
But maybe he had thought of you, because there beside the books, was a sweater.
Perhaps it was a mirage – could you get them from cold instead of heat? Reaching out to touch it, you concluded it was definitely real, but must be some kind of miracle. Dropping your bag to the ground straight away, you shoved the jumper on and huddled into it, bunching the sleeves around your frozen hands.
It was dark green, and you were sure you had seen Joon wearing a jumper like this before.
Thanking every deity out there that your friend had predicted your habit to dress poorly for the weather, you hauled the books out of the locker and set off for your study session.
Today you arrived first. Pulling out your phone, you sat back and waited for Joon to turn up.
When he did, you looked up from your phone to find he had stopped in front of your desk, staring back at you.
“You are a lifesaver,” you said, setting your phone aside and sitting forwards.
Blinking, he shook his head. “What?”
Frowning, you repeated yourself.
“I said you’re a lifesaver… for the jumper,” you clarified, “I was so cold, I could barely open my locker-“
“What are you talking about?” he asked.
“What do you mean? Did you not leave this for me…” you frowned.
“No.”
You both stared at each other.
“Okay. Well, whose is it then?” you asked, pulling your chin to your chest to look down at the jumper you had on.
“Where did you find it?” Namjoon ignored your question, sitting down at last.
“It was in my locker, with the books,” you explained.
“But it’s not yours?”
“No!”
“It was there when I put them in this morning, though, I thought it must have been.”
“What the hell?” you struggled to find any other words.
“I guess someone else left it for you,” Joon shrugged.
Incredulous, you watched as he pulled out his laptop and opened it, unbothered by the strange apparition of your jumper.
“You think someone broke into my locker to leave me a jumper?”
“I don’t know,” he sighed, “but can you pass me the one by Hastings-“
Sighing, you dropped the matter and pulled his requested book from the middle of the stack, choosing the top one to start on yourself.
Though you let it go long enough to get through a bit more of your essay, you were absolutely going to put the jumper back after you were done. Knowing you were wearing someone’s sweater, you felt the gazes of everyone walking past as if they somehow knew, and were about to denounce you for being a sweatshirt thief in the middle of the library.
But, as it happened, the cold weather was hellbent on dissolving your goodwill.
There was no. way. you were going outside in any less layers than you currently had on. The trip to your locker brought you to that conclusion soon enough, and so you chucked the books in and hugged the sweater tighter.
That night, the shapes of the two jumpers you had ‘borrowed’ so far seemed to stick out in the dark. It may not be anything dramatic, but since they weren’t yours, you couldn’t keep them.
Thankfully, the morning brought actual sun with it.
And your phone told you it would get warmer still.
Your phone lied.
That morning, you had worn the green jumper, intending to take it off and return it to the locker when you reached campus and the day had warmed up.
In the event, nothing of the sort happened. You had bumped into Namjoon and one of his friends from music, Yoongi. The three of you had talked outside until it was time for class, so you headed straight for your lecture with Joon.
Your next step outside was when you knew you had messed up.
All trace of sun had disappeared, sky darkened with cloud again. Any heat this morning held had gone away too.
But you were determined. You huffed as you pulled the sweater over your head later on, placing it back into the locker despite the way you were already shivering from the walk over.
In the library, the pile of books dwindled steadily down, but you got no warmer. Seriously, this place needed to invest in some better heating.
Screw morals, you were getting that jumper back.
“I’ll be back,” you muttered, sliding away before Joon could reply.
Apart from that, you made the walk to your locker in record time, probably since no books weighed you down.
As you approached the building you were aiming for, the door swung open. On seeing you, the emerging figure slowed down and held the door behind them. Speeding up, you reached the door at a slight jog before you even noticed who it was.
Jungkook.
“Hi Y/N!” he said brightly.
“H-hi!” you smiled back, “how are you?”
“Good thanks,” he smiled too, leaning against the door, “just heading to the cafeteria.”
“Oh, Joon and I should be along soon,” you nodded.
“Cool, I’ll see you,” he flashed his grin again.
Finally greeted with the warmth of inside, you looked over your shoulder at Jungkook’s retreating back. Why on earth was he in a t shirt? Shaking your head, you made your way to your locker with a smile.
Look at you go! A normal, nice conversation with Jungkook! And hopefully you could put an end to the relentless study session if you told Namjoon you were expected to go and get coffee with Jungkook.
Clinking, your key turned in the lock and you pulled the locker open with a sigh of relief-
A new sweater.
Interesting.
Tilting your head to the side, you stared at it as if it might get up and explain itself any moment.
Rather than the green one you had abandoned earlier, a burgundy bundle lay there instead. Sighing sharply, you decided you had come all this way for warmth, after all, and if someone was going to insist on putting jumpers in your locker, then you were going to wear them.
Which is how you found yourself enveloped contentedly in the latest of the apparently continuous line of warm, cosy sweaters, sipping coffee from between you sweater paws at a table with Namjoon, Jungkook, Jin and Taehyung.
Perhaps you weren’t entirely used to being in someone else’s jumper yet, because you kept feeling uneasy, as if the others at your table were looking at you with sideways glances.
Shaking it off, you smiled along with the conversation. You were definitely imagining it. Even if you didn’t talk to them that much, Namjoon’s friends were always lovely to you.
Eventually, the cups lay empty and the boys were discussing meeting the others in the studio. Noticing the branches outside the window swaying wildly, you decided you could put off the walk home no longer, or the weather would only keep getting worse, knowing your luck.
“See you later,” you excused yourself to a round of small waves and smiles from the others.
All the others, except, strangely, Jungkook. He had always been very easy-going with you, so you tried not to read into it when he only gave a tiny smile before ducking his head again.
On your way out, you noticed Yoongi coming in and exchanged a nod.
But with you on your merry way, you had no idea of the situation you had left behind.
Tumblr media
Jungkook’s cheeks were burning as he tried to ignore the pointed stares of his friends. Lips pulled in between his teeth, he tentatively looked up, through the hair hanging into his eyes.
“Kook…” Namjoon was the first to speak, eyebrows raised as he watched the younger boy.
“What?” he squeaked, chewing at his lip right after. Who was he kidding? They all knew ‘what’.
Looking over to Tae and Jin brought no solace, both looking equally confused and expectant. Silence stretched out between them as Jungkook tried to string together a coherent thought with all eyes on him.
“So when were you going to tell us you’re hooking up with Y/N?”
Jungkook choked on thin air. Looking up, he saw Yoongi sauntering across to their table, thankfully grabbing the attention away from Jungkook.
“What do you- I’m- we’re- we’re not-“
“It’s alright Kook, you can tell us,” Jin offered, eyes wide in an attempt at being consoling. It wasn’t helping.
“There’s nothing to tell!” he insisted.
“Doesn’t explain why she was wearing your jumper,” Tae interjected.
“Has been for days,” Yoongi helpfully chimed in next.
Jungkook hid his head in his hands.
“I thought she just left for a study break,” Namjoon piped up next, “I can’t believe you two! On campus, really?”
“We are not sleeping together!” Jungkook hissed, succeeding in shutting him up, “I don’t know why she’s wearing that!”
“Sure,” Yoongi scoffed.
“You’ve had a crush on her for so long, I swear we’re happy for you,” Tae leant forwards, “I’m just offended you didn’t tell us.”
“What?” Jungkook was getting more frustrated.
“It’s no secret you like her,” Jin agreed.
“You knew?! Why didn’t you say anything?” Jungkook stared at his friends in disbelief.
“To let you deal with it yourself,” Jin mumbled eventually, “are you- are you telling us you seriously still haven’t done anything about it?”
“I haven’t,” Jungkook admitted.
“You have a crush on Y/N?” Namjoon asked incredulously.
“What’s the deal with the jumpers then? I’m lost,” Yoongi said.
“Hello!?” Namjoon interrupted, “Kook has a crush on Y/N?”
Groaning, Jungkook dragged his hands down his face.
“Yes, Joon. I like her,” he muttered, “and I don’t know, Yoongi. I don’t know how she keeps getting my jumpers.”
“Well, ask for them back then,” Jin shrugged, sitting back.
Jungkook just sighed.
“Oh my god, he likes it!” Tae gasped in glee, an infuriating grin splitting his face.
Jungkook was sure he wouldn’t get cold walking home if his cheeks maintained this temperature.
“Hold on…” Namjoon suddenly leaned forwards, “the other day, she asked me if I had put a jumper in her locker. We thought someone had left it for her.”
“It was in her locker?”
“Yep.”
“Well, that’s weird. I didn’t put them there.”
“This is ridiculous,” Yoongi groaned loudly, “I thought Kook had finally sorted this stupid crush. I couldn’t care less about the damn sweaters. Let’s go to the studio, Jimin and Hobi are waiting.”
Tumblr media
“What are you doing?”
You almost jumped out of your skin. Having just picked your books up from your locker (how the pile was still this big, you had no idea), you turned around to find none other than Jungkook stood staring at you.
Clutching the stack tightly to avoid a landslide after that jumpscare, you looked up at him. A light crease made itself known between his eyebrows.
“Just… getting these books,” you gulped. Now it had started beating again, your heart wouldn’t seem to shut up at such close proximity to him.
He continued frowning at you, expecting more, but all you could think about was how cute he was, even when he was annoyed. How is that even possible?
“That’s my locker.”
That startled you from your stupor. It was your turn to frown now, taken aback by his statement.
“…no, it’s not,” you said slowly, “that’s my locker.”
“Look,” he said then, before pulling a key from his pocket. Holding it up, you clearly saw the familiar number 267 glinting back at you.
Frown growing deeper, you struggled to balance the books in one arm while the other fumbled for your own key. As you flattened your palm, he leant in to see it.
“267,” he muttered, staring between yours and his. “what the…”
“That’s odd,” you frowned, “I guess we should talk to reception, but I, uh, I have class-“
“Y/N,” he slid into your way as you took a step, “um…”
As you waited for him to talk, he hesitated, tongue slipping out momentarily to wet his lips as he rubbed a hand at the back of his neck. At last, he took a breath, barely looking at you, and spoke.
“People have been asking me, ab-about us-“
Your eyes grew five times bigger in a millisecond. Did Jeon Jungkook just use the word us, talking to you?!?
“-they’re asking why you’re wearing my jumpers, and-and I guess I know why now, but-“
Oh.
Oh no.
No no no no no no no.
The jumpers you had been taking the liberty of stealing belonged to Jungkook?
Oh hell no.
“Shit, I’m sorry- uhh, I’ll get them all back to you, I swear,” you hurriedly spoke, backing away from him, “but I really need to go class, so, um, I’ll see you!”
And with that, you were walking as fast as your legs could carry you, far away from the most embarrassing situation since the time your pants had ripped when you were twelve. People had been asking Jungkook about you? They thought you were together?
You felt awful. All through your lecture, you could barely hear your professor over your internal screaming. What must Jungkook think about this? About you?
Ditching the pile of godawful, cursed books with Joon, you hurried to your locker, hoping that no one would be in sight so you could shove the jumper away. You were wearing the first one you had found. You could return the rest later.
Yes, you would be freezing, but you would have to deal with it.
Roughly pulling it over your head as you reached your locker, the corridor mercifully empty, you threw open the door.
But something was already there.
You wouldn’t have paid it any attention, except there was a note sat on top. And it had your name on it. Underneath the note sat something dark blue and suspiciously hoodie-shaped.
Eyeing it warily, you read the note.
Y/N, I’m sorry, I should have explained better. You don’t have to put the jumpers back, or even stop wearing them. In fact, if you keep wearing them I would be very happy. I brought this for you – it’s the biggest hoodie I own and I hope you like it. I need to tell you something, and I’m clearly better at writing it down than saying it to you, but I want to say it. I really like you, Y/N. You don’t have to feel the same, but you can at least keep the sweaters and stay warm. JK xx
This couldn’t be real. Eyes darting to and fro re-reading the message, you reached out to take the paper between your fingers. Apparently, it was real.
Letting it drop back onto the blue hoodie, you looked around you to find the hallway still empty.
Now this wasn’t fair. Jungkook couldn’t make your all your dreams come true and then hide somewhere. You had to find him.
Stuffing the first jumper you stole away, you pulled out the new gift and tugged it on. Not only was it huge, but it was so soft. When you found him, you were going to find out what detergent he used.
Either way, you spared little time to enjoy the warm hug in jumper form, instead racing off to track down Jungkook. Zipping through the cafeteria proved fruitless, and you even stopped in the library. Joon was in there, but you didn’t stop, just chucking Jungkook’s note in the face of his complaints and moving on.
You had never actually been in the music studio before, but you found it easily enough.
Practically running inside, you stopped, breathing heavily, in the entrance. Only three people were in there, and of course none of them were Jungkook.
Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi looked around at you in surprise.
“Where’s Jungkook?” you panted.
Yoongi had barely lifted his hand before you had already taken off in the direction he pointed. Pushing the door wide open, you finally laid eyes on the person you had been looking for.
When Jungkook looked around from where he stood in front of a microphone, a piece of paper clutched in his hand, all the words you were going to say to him suddenly left your mind.
“What detergent do you use?”
The question fell uselessly from your lips, only making him more confused.
“What?”
“Oh, nevermind-“
Letting the door fall shut behind you, your feet didn’t stop moving as you crossed the room until your lips crashed into his.
Arms instinctively coming up to hold you, his eyes widened at first but quickly slid shut as he realised what was happening. You were so desperate to find him, and now you couldn’t wait to feel him, lips ravenous as your hands tangled in his long hair.
He tasted so good, making you groan into his mouth as his lips fit so perfectly against yours, incidentally granting him access to slip his tongue inside. There was barely a hair’s breadth between you as he tugged you in, hands fisted in the fabric of his own sweater that swallowed you up.
Finally recovering from the shock and elation of kissing you, he cupped the back of your head, tilting his own to deepen the kiss as he held you steady. And it was a good thing he did, or he would have swept you clean off your feet.
Even as you broke away from each other, staring in shock at your own boldness, your heart continued its raging party in your chest. You could only stare into his brown eyes, totally lost and awed at what just happened.
“Nice hoodie,” Jungkook whispered, the first to break the silence.
“Y-yeah,” you nodded, “thank you.”
“I’m glad you like it.” He looked at you then, big eyes hopeful and oh god you just wanted to kiss him again and see him smile forever-
“Can I take this as your reply to my note?”
“Yes, Jungkook,” you smiled, and the grin that burst onto his face was the most glorious you had ever seen, “I like you too. I really, really like you.”
“I really, really like you too, Y/N,” he grinned, lips connecting with your forehead in a brief, sweet peck, “and I’d like to see you in my sweaters more often.”

I’m all eyes (1/1)
summary: So, obviously, if Nico was wearing Jason’s sweatshirt, then they must be dating, right?
word count: 1,871
read on ao3
Will didn’t think he was the jealous type. Jealousy required some amount of anger, right? But he wasn’t angry - maybe just disappointed. And really, he didn’t even have all of the facts, so he shouldn’t let himself get worked up over it anyway.
It’s just that, well. It sucked to always look over at the Big Three table to see Nico in that giant purple SPQR sweatshirt. Or, it didn’t suck - it was a good look, and purple was definitely Nico’s color, as much as Will would prefer to see him in camp orange. The part that sucked was that Jason was always sitting beside him, and that sweatshirt definitely looked like it was Jason’s size.
So, obviously, if Nico was wearing Jason’s sweatshirt, then they must be dating, right? And on the one hand, it was exciting, because that meant Nico was into guys, which meant that Will might have a chance with him (and bonus points because he, too, was tall, blond, and blue-eyed). On the other hand, Nico was taken, and Will wasn’t a homewrecker (or whatever the fifteen year old version of a homewrecker was).
Anyway, Will had a lot of mixed feelings about seeing Nico in that sweatshirt. And he kept having those mixed feelings when he started to see more and more of Nico around camp. He would come by the archery range while Will was practicing with his shotgun (on his own target that he’d made specifically for shooting practice). He had started going to campfires (where he would pull the sweatshirt over his knees and turn himself into an adorable purple blob). He’d even started coming by the infirmary every few days so that Will could make sure he was keeping his fading in check (so, to be fair, Will had asked him to stop by occasionally, but that was for purely medical reasons).
On one particularly hot day in September, Nico entered the infirmary sans sweatshirt, and Will’s heart jumped in his chest. Sure, he’d seen Nico without that sweatshirt on a few times before, but he’d reacted the same way then, too. He tried to act normal, checking Nico’s solidity and making sure that his arms and legs still cast shadows, but the second Piper stepped into the infirmary, Will’s mind went blank.
She was wearing a giant purple SPQR sweatshirt, the one that looked just like Jason’s that Nico always wore. And hadn’t Jason and Piper been dating before they set off on the Argo II?
“Is that Jason’s sweatshirt?” Will’s mouth asked before his brain could stop it.
Piper paused and glanced down, like she’d forgotten what she was wearing. “Oh, uh, yeah. Nyssa’s got the AC blasting in the bunker, so I snagged this from Jason’s cabin on the way here.”
“Oh.” Did that mean they were still dating? Or maybe they just had a really amicable breakup? Or...Nico, Jason, and Piper were all in some sort of polyamorous relationship? Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course, but the three of them together certainly made for an odd bunch. “Sorry, did you need help?”
She shook her head. “Nah, just came to see what was holding Nico up. He’s been helping us try to track down Leo.”
“Really?” Will asked, glancing at Nico in surprise. “That’s...nice of you.”
Nico shrugged. “I’m just gonna make sure he stays dead this time.”
Will grinned. “Ah. That’s more like it.”
“So, am I good to go?” Nico asked. “I’d like to track Leo down before Thanatos does.”
Will rolled his eyes fondly. “Yeah, go ahead. But as a bit of medical advice, murder might not be best for your mental health.”
Nico scrunched up his nose. “I don’t think you have to worry about that.”
“Sure, Death Boy,” Will said, brushing off his reply. It was probably a joke anyway. Right? “Get out of here already. I’ll see you later.”
As Nico started toward the door, Piper threw an arm around him, which Nico immediately tried to shove off, albeit unsuccessfully. Once he was sure they were gone, and once Kayla returned from her snack break, Will snuck out the back entrance.
He went to the cave under Half Blood Hill, announcing himself as he pushed the curtain aside and walked in. He found Rachel the way he usually did, one bare foot holding a paintbrush as she worked on her current project. “Hey,” she greeted, not lifting her eyes from the canvas.
“Hey,” Will replied moments before flopping down face-first onto a pile of overstuffed pillows. He was pretty sure it was the space that Rachel pretended was her bed whenever she stayed the night at camp so that Chiron wouldn’t realize that she snuck into the Apollo cabin every night to sleep on one of the spare bunks. He’d gotten close with Rachel since the end of the Titan war, seeing as he was usually the one to catch her when she collapsed after giving a prophecy. It had helped them bond. Now Rachel felt like something of a sister, except Will’s only experience with siblings were his godly siblings, who always just felt like close friends. So, anyway, Rachel was somewhere between Will’s newest vaguely-related sister and a close friend. Which meant that they had a good enough relationship that they could sit in silence without it being awkward, which was how the next few minutes passed.
Then, Will lifted his face off of a pillow and glanced to the side, spotting a familiar shade of purple. He picked it up - an oversized SPQR sweatshirt. “Whose is this?”
“Huh?” Rachel barely glanced away for a second before turning back to her easel. “Oh. That’s Nico’s. He must’ve left it here last night.”
Will’s head snapped up. “Nico was here? Wait, you hang out with Nico?”
Rachel shrugged. She leaned forward and pulled the brush out from between her toes, apparently deciding that Will had become too much of a distraction for the time being. “Yeah, we go way back. We both helped Percy and Annabeth with the Labyrinth, remember? And then after that he would check in on me sometimes to, like, make sure nobody came after me. It was kinda creepy at first, you know, because he just sort of appears out of nowhere sometimes? But as soon as I started feeding him, he opened his mouth and never really shut up, so the creepiness kinda faded.”
Will smoothed a hand across the fabric. It was soft, and big enough that it would fit him easily. And Rachel said it was Nico’s, not Jason’s - not that it could be, since he’d just seen Piper wearing Jason’s about ten minutes ago. And if Rachel and Nico were friends, then she would know-- “So Nico’s not dating Jason?”
Rachel blinked, clearly taken aback by the question, and then laughed. “No, definitely not.”
Will’s brain was moving too fast for him to process anything. “He-- I--” He scrambled to his feet and gathered the sweatshirt in his hands. “I gotta go!”
“Uh, bye?” Rachel called after him as Will took off out of the cave. Piper had said that she was with Nyssa at Bunker Nine, so Will took off toward the woods. He was grateful for his long legs that carried him across camp so quickly, leaping over fallen branches and thankfully not tripping up on any roots. He found himself outside Bunker Nine in no time, and it wasn’t long before his eyes landed on Nico. He sprinted up to the other boy, hunching over for half a second to catch his breath before he said, “Can I talk to you?”
Nico nodded, his eyes wide in obvious surprise at having Will suddenly appear in front of him. (Served him right for doing the same to everyone else for the last few years.) Will led him out of the bunker and away from listening ears, and then handed over the sweatshirt.
“Oh,” Nico said, sounding almost disappointed. “Um. Thanks.”
“Rachel told me it was yours, so I...brought it,” Will told him. “I always thought-- I mean, I assumed-- You and Jason are just so close, and I figured--”
“I don’t like Jason,” Nico said quickly, defensively, and his cheeks began to color. “Not… Not like that, I mean. He just got this for me because he was sick of me stealing his all the time.”
“No, right, of course,” Will replied as his heart sank. “I mean-- Oh gods, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to assume you liked guys-- I never should’ve--”
“I do,” Nico cut in, and Will’s mouth snapped shut. “I, um. I’m...gay.”
“Oh. Oh! Cool! I mean, I am too! Or, uh, I’m bi, but, uh. I like guys, too.”
If Will’s arms weren’t frozen at his side, he probably would’ve smacked himself for babbling like a total idiot. But maybe it was worth it to see the way Nico’s cheeks continued to grow red.
“Cool,” Nico said softly, dropping his gaze to his shoes before rapidly looking around at anything that wasn’t Will. “Would you, um. Would you maybe be interested in sitting with me at the campfire tonight?”
Will was pretty sure his soul had left his body, but he still managed to ask, “Like, as a date?”
Nico scuffed the toe of his shoe against the dirt. “If… If you want.”
“Yeah!” Will said quickly, and then, “That would be, um. Cool.”
“Cool,” Nico repeated. He started fidgeting with the sweatshirt in his hands before he suddenly held it out to Will. “You should take this. It’ll probably be cold tonight, so…”
Will barely managed to stop himself from saying, it’s okay, I have my own. Instead, he forced his hands out to take the sweatshirt back. “Cool.” Did he know any other word in the English language besides cool? “I’ll, um. See you tonight then.”
Nico smiled, and Will’s heart soared. “Yeah. See you tonight.”
When Will arrived at the campfire later, happily yet nervously showing off the SPQR laurels on his chest, he made his way straight to Nico, relieved to see that the other boy had shown up in just a t-shirt.
“Hey,” Will said, smiling brightly as he sat down in the open space beside Nico. “You know, it might get cold this far from the fire. Maybe you should borrow this.” Will held out his own neatly folded orange camp hoodie, one with a large 7 on the back and a red cross on one sleeve - a sweatshirt that was unmistakably Will’s.
Nico smiled down at the sweatshirt, and then up at Will like this was exactly what he’d been hoping for. “Okay,” he said as he took the sweatshirt and pulled it on over his head.
“It might be a little big on you,” Will warned, but Nico only smiled brighter when his head popped out of the neck hole.
“That’s okay,” Nico replied. Just the very tips of his fingers stuck out the ends of the sleeves, and Will got the sudden urge to hold Nico’s hand. Maybe he would try later, when Nico didn’t have all of his focus directed at Will. “That’s how I like it.”

It was raining. The weather forecast hadn't said anything about showers, yet it was almost a storm. Luckily you only had about a block left before you reached Shoto's home. You were going there to spend some time together, since you had been dating for a while. Neither of you had said a word about it to anyone, but you both wanted to meet each other's families even if they just saw you as "the friend". Shoto's hand was holding yours tightly, leading the way to his home. At this point you didn't care about the rain, you were just happy to hold his hand. The two of you weren't exactly at a PDA stage, considering the fact that your relationship was secret and you were both very awkward when it came to love. Classic case of the first love. With your fingers intertwined you were still able to feel warm, despite the cold raindrops swatting at your face.
When you finally got to his house you didn't even get a chance to look at the outside. In fear of getting a cold, and let's be honest you're not going to stand out in the rain to look at a house, you ran inside as quickly as possible together. "I'll get you a change of clothes.", Shoto said between deep breaths, "... and maybe a shower." "That sounds good.", you chuckled and tried your best to not get water all over the floor by standing as still as possible. "Shoto, you know we could've gotten you a driver-", a woman was standing in the hallway, "Oh! You brought a friend with you?" You turned to Shoto, who was looking down at the floor. "You didn't tell anyone?", you whispered to him and since he didn't answer you turned your attention back to the woman, "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to intrued." "Oh, not at all! Don't worry about it, I was just not expecting it.", the woman smiled at you and went up to shake your hand, "I'm Fuyumi." "Y/N... it's really nice to meet you and I would shake your hand... but I'm kind of drenched at the moment.", you laughed awkwardly. "Right! I could show you to our bathroom and you could take a quick shower.", she said happily, "And I'm sure Shoto wouldn't mind sharing his clothes with you." "Actually I was thinking maybe she could borrow your clothes...", Shoto interrupted, "... so that they could fit better, you know." Fuyumi looked back and forth between you and Shoto. She narrowed her eyes slightly and it seemed as if something had clicked in her head. As if a lightbulb had turned off, shining light on a mischevious idea. "My clothes are all in the wash, just let her borrow your clothes.", she folded her arms over her chest, "Or do you have a problem with that?" "What? No, I just thought that you're clothes would fit better- and surely all of your clothes can't be in the wash.", Shoto said. "I said what I said.", Fuyumi huffed. "I don't mind, Shoto.", you said softly. Inside you were freaking out, you had never worn his clothes before! That's what cute couples do with one another, and you had barely even kissed yet! "See? She said she doesn't mind. Let's go, sweetie, I'll take you to the bathroom.", she said. You looked back on Shoto with an apologetic smile before following Fuyumi out of the corridor.
You're shower was really quick, considering you felt awkward using their shower products. Fuyumi had put a towel and a nicely folded pile of clothes for you to wear on a little table beside the sink. The towel was surprisingly soft. Together with the warm air of the bathroom you almost didn't want to leave. You looked over at the pile of clothes and instantly you felt intimidated. Shoto's clothes... for you to wear. With careful hands you put on the big hoodie along with the sweatpants. The legs of the sweatpants were too long so you had to roll them up to fit you. After putting on the slippers that were left for you, they were almost as soft as the towel, you made your way out of the bathroom.
Since you didn't know where to go you followed what you thought were Fuyumi's voice, along with another man's voice. When you reached your destination you found yourself in the kitchen. "I'm telling you, they're totally crush-", Fuyumi saw you in the corner of the eye and stopped talking, "Oh! You're done, great!" "Where's Shoto..?", you said a bit awkwardly. "He's in the bathroom.", the man with white hair answered. "Oh... you have two bathrooms?", you said, mostly to yourself. "Come here, I made some tea.", Fuyumi called you over to sit by the table, "And this is Natsuo, my brother." "It's nice to meet you. Shoto doesn't usually bring a lot of people home, it's great to see he's making friends.", he said with a gentle smile. You nodded and sat down by the table, immediately being offered a cup of tea. "The clothes... they're not uncomfortable right?", Fuyumi asked. "Not at all.", you answered and took a sip of the tea, "Thank you so much for letting me borrow your bathroom." "Of course, I couldn't just let you catch a cold.", she smiled. "So is Shoto doing well in school?", Natsuo asked. It almost felt like you were being interrogated. "Yes of course... I mean, you saw the tournament didn't you? He's at the top of our class." "I mean socially." "Oh... well, from what I've seen he's getting more comfortable around everyone.", you thought for a while before adding, "Some people have described him as distant, but I don't see it." "Maybe he's just like that around-", Fuyumi started but got cut off by someone walking into the room. "Y/N.", Shoto said from behind you, "Let's go." You looked over your shoulder and nodded to him. He was wearing an oversized light blue sweater along with a black pair of, what you assumed was, jeans. His hair wasn't damp, it seemed as if he had used a hairdryer, but he still had a towel hung over his shoulder. "Thank you for the tea.", you got up and bowed slightly, "It's been nice to meet you both." "No problem." Fuyumi said and you could feel her eyes on you as you walked away. When you got up to Shoto he didn't start walking like you thought he would. Instead he took the towel off his shoulder and put it over your still damp hair. "I knew you wouldn't dry your hair properly...", he muttered, "What's the point of showering to not get sick if you're gonna leave your hair wet and get cold?" He started ruffling your hair to dry it. Even though it was a sweet gesture, and the towel was very soft and nice, you could still feel Fuyumi watching you. You grabbed Shoto's wrist and, despite your flustered face, tried to look him in the eye. His face also turned red when he realized what he was doing. You heard his siblings snicker to each other, but before you could look Shoto turned you around and started walking in the other direction.
You reached his room and sat down on the nearest surface, which just happened to be on his bed. There you reached up to your head, where the towel was still laying, and just like Shoto had done before - you started drying it by ruffling it around. "If the clothes are too big I can go ask Fuyumi again if you can borrow her clothes. I'm sure all of her clothes can't be in the wash.", Shoto said as he softly looked at you. "She already asked me, actually.", you put the towel around your shoulders and looked up at Shoto, "I don't mind... your clothes are nice." "Ah...", he looked away from you with burning cheeks, "... thank you." "No problem.", you chuckled with a bright smile. When you looked around you noticed a big bookshelf. Curiosity took over and you walked over to it. There were so many books, counting them would possibly take hours. Yet, you took your time skimming through the titles. The wind's twelve quarters, Human acts, The bluest eye... your counting was interrupted when you felt Shoto's eyes on you. When you looked back at him he had a soft, unintelligible, look on his face. "Would you mind reading for me?", you asked and picked out the book right in front of you. "... sure. But I wouldn't recommend that one, the beginning's a bit boring. You'll just fall asleep immediately.", he got up from his place in an armchair. He stood right behind you and reached a bit higher up on the bookshelf. Your eyes studied his hand as it moved from book to book until he found the one he wanted. The Remains of the Day. "Maybe this one?", he asked. "Sure.", you nodded. Though you regret your desicion quickly. Not because you realized it was a bad choice of book. But because as soon as the word slipped out your mouth Shoto backed away. The closest thing to a back hug was gone in a few seconds by the hand of author Kazuo Ishiguro. "Do you want to lie down while we read?", Shoto asked, bringing you out of your thoughts. "Hm? Oh, sure." Shoto layed down on top of the covers of his bed and you followed after him. He was slightly lifted up by his pillows, since reading while laying completely flat would be a bit hard. Unsure of what to do, you sat down beside him instead of laying down. "You can lay here.", he patted on the place next to him. Without saying anything, because you simply couldn't muster a word, you laid down on his arm, right by his shoulder. You were so close to his chest you could hear his heart beating. Slow and rhythmic beats. In comparison, you seemed to have run a marathon. Shoto brought his arm up so that it was wrapped around you and so that he could hold the book with both hands. That meant that you couldn't lay on his arm anymore. By the power of simple anatomy, when he lifted his arm up it was like he was hugging you closer. You were about to roll over, so you put your hand on his shoulder that furthest away from you and put one of your legs over his body. Now you were in a full on cuddling position. His jaw was right next to your forehead and you didn't dare look up. "Are you comfortable?", he asked and you could feel his breath on your face. "... yes.", you muttered out, "Are you?" "I'm good... I should start reading then...", he seemed calm enough, "It seemed increasingly likely that I really..." Distracted by his soft voice, you closed your eyes and let yourself relax fully. Your head ended up in the crook of his neck and now you could really hear his heartbeat. It was way faster than you thought at first, which meant he was more nervous then it seemed. Somehow you found this comforting, and it made you more daring. You nuzzled your face a bit closer to him, which in response he stopped reading. "Is this okay?", you asked carefully, now keeping completely still. "Yeah... it's nice.", he muttered, barely audible. After you hummed in response he kept reading. You started drawing small shaped with the hand that was on his shoulder. He didn't interrupt the story this time so you kept doing it. The sound of his voice, the rhythmic beating of his heart, and the rain smattering against the window made for an
amazing atmosphere. Not to mention the room smelled like him. Comfortingly so. It was enough for you to close your eyes and slowly drift off to sleep. Once Shoto realized that you were no longer awake he carefully put the book away and wrapped his arms around you, closing his eyes as well.
A knock at the door woke you both up. When you realized the position you were in the two of you scrambled to get away from each other. "Yeah?", Shoto said as he was trying to compose himself. You got off the bed and pretended to look at his bookshelf again. The door opened, it was Fuyumi. "Sorry to bother you. I have your clothes, fresh from the dryer, and I just wanted to know if Y/N wants to eat here or not.", she said with a soft smile. "Wait, what time is it?", you asked. "It's already six pm, didn't you know?", she was surprised, "Well I guess time flies." "Oh- I should really get home, I totally forgot the time.", you said and looked back at Shoto. You noticed that his hair was a bit messy and you guessed that yours was as well. By the look in Fuyumi's eyes your guess was correct. She held out a bag with your clothes in it for you to grab. "Here you go.", she smiled brightly. You thanked her and then rushed to the bathroom, leaving Shoto alone with his sister.
When you got back Fuyumi wasn't there anymore. "Thank you for bringing me over... and sorry I fell asleep while you were reading.", you said to Shoto while handing him his clothes. "To be honest I haven't slept that well in a while.", he smiled warmly and put the clothes on his bed. "Really? So... then...", you were hesitant to say it but it was now or never, "... could we do it again?" "... sure.", he nodded.
The two of you made your way to the front door. As you were putting on your shoes you heard footsteps approaching. "It was nice meeting you.", Fuyumi said from further down the hall. "Even if Shoto practically dragged you away from us.", Natsuo added. As you finished tying your shoes and were about to say goodbye but you didn't have time before Shoto grabbed your hand and led you out the door. You heard Fuyumi excitedly gasp and Natsuo mumble "I told you so". Shoto turned around and looked at his siblings. "What? Am I not allowed to hold my girlfriends hand without you making a fuss?", he told them before taking you home, still hand in hand. You could hear Fuyumi and Natsuo talking loudly behind you. If it weren't for the shock you would've been laughing right now. Still, you could only stare at Shoto in awe. "I thought you said you didn't want them to know.", you said after walking for a while. "They would pester me about it if they didn't.", he shrugged, "And I don't see the point in hiding you."

The Christmas Compromise
merry christmas, @lilliankayl !! ‘tis i, your secret santa! this ended up getting a little long, so there will be multiple parts up...soon. here’s the first one, which you will also eventually be able read on ao3 when it’s complete. hope you enjoy!!
Part One.
Dean feels his mouth start to form a lazy smile.
Through the winter chill and the foggy annoyance that his blankets are skewed around him to provide the least amount of heat and warmth, there is a distant recognition that the smell of coffee in the air isn’t just any brew.
Despite the effort to untangle the sheets from his legs and feet, Dean manages to bare his skin to the winter cold of his room, provided the damage to his heater. He makes a mental note to fix that later, after they come back. Dean can last a few days until then.
He can practically see his breath hanging in the air when he yawns, pulling on warmer clothes as quickly as his stiff muscles and numb fingertips will allow him. Sweats, then t-shirt, then hoodie, because he isn’t expected to be anywhere until later and he can always change before that if he needs to.
Better to die comfy than in plaid.
It’s early morning, judging by the darkness outside and Dean’s alarm clock that blinks 5:30 AM at him in white block numbers, but he can’t find it in himself to care that he’s awake to see hell freeze over. Lucky for him, there’s a quick fix to his sleepiness less than twenty feet away.
The socks take entirely too long to fit onto his feet. When they finally do, Dean yanks his door open and pads down the hall, stopping at the entrance to his kitchen.
It’s a modest kitchen—a modest home, really, but it does it’s job—and it’s empty save for an occupied chair at the kitchen table.
Dean stares for a second.
He’s allowed to notice clothes and posture before that second is disrupted by Miracle making a racket coming into the kitchen, and Cas turns to face them.
“Morning,” Dean greets him. The smell of coffee is much stronger here, and Dean can feel his mouth beginning to water.
Cas pushes a full mug towards Dean’s seat.
“Good morning, Dean. I made you—”
“My favorite brew,” Dean finishes for him. He sits, letting his fingers thaw under the ceramic of the mug and breathing in the heavy scent of Cas’ coffee.
“It’s everyone’s favorite brew,” Cas says, taking a sip from his own cup. “That’s why it’s the priciest.”
Dean levels a look at him.
“I have to make money somehow,” Cas defends.
“Yeah, yeah,” Dean waves him off, bringing the drink to his lips. The first taste is hot—too hot—and it burns his throat on the way down.
“You never learn,” Cas says. Dean doesn’t need to meet his eyes to know that they’re squinting at him. “You’ve been burning your tongue on my coffee for years, you’d think it’d make an impact by now.”
Dean only frowns and mumbles into his coffee something about “not every time,” to which Cas rolls his eyes.
They can only pretend to be angry with each other for a few more minutes before it subsides into companionable silence. Dean lightly kicks Cas’ foot under the table to get his attention.
“You gonna need a ride to work?”
Cas sets his mug down and shrugs. He’s still in his night clothes: a white t-shirt—Dean has never understood how Cas can stand the cold—and borrowed sweats, but he’ll probably burrow through more of Dean’s wardrobe to get his outfit for today. The guy might as well live here with the amount of time he spends at Dean’s place and the fact that Dean’s closet is practically Cas’, too, now.
I could always just ask him…
Dean swallows the last of his drink and stands before he can contemplate the question again. He busies himself at the sink, and then ducks under the counter to get Miracle’s food from the cabinet.
“Yes,” Cas says eventually, evidently having gone through every other option before arriving at that one. “Is it a bother?”
Dean pokes his head over the counter to look at him.
“No, man, you know I like driving Baby around. Besides, I’ve got some shopping to do, and, y’know…”
“Free breakfast,” Cas adds for him, a teasing note in his voice. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed the muffins that go missing every time you drop by.”
Dean sets down Miracle’s food and whistles softly, standing straight once Miracle trots into the room and to his bowl to eat.
“Hey,” he points a finger at Cas, “Consider it a compromise since you never pay for gas.”
“It’s not like I haven’t offered,” Cas meets Dean by the sink to wash his cup out. “Do you want me to pay for gas, Dean?”
He’s standing close in that way that Cas always stands close—in the way that Dean has stopped correcting for years now. That’s just how he is, he reminds himself, and puts visible effort into keeping his eyes trained on Cas’ blue ones.
“No,” he says, “You don’t need to pay for gas. All I’m asking is that you look the other way when I happen to find a cookie just laying there for the taking. Do that, and it’s free rides for life.”
“When you say ‘laying there,’ I assume you mean in the casing, behind the counter, where only employees are allowed,” Cas sasses back, face stripped of emotion except for the slight furrow to his brow. Imperceptible, if it wasn’t Dean that was staring.
“So now I’m an employee?” Dean asks, finally pulling away from their bubble to pretend to clean the counter. “Jee, Cas, you shoulda told me. I would have put my apron on.”
Cas punches him lightly on the shoulder, done with washing his cup but fingers still wet from doing so. It leaves an imprint on Dean’s hoodie, which Dean acts like he hates, but it gives him a motive to attack Cas back.
They scuffle, elbowing each other and pushing each other around the kitchen—Dean even manages to try for a few tickles to Cas’ armpits and stomach, but still to no avail—until Miracle joins in and they stop so as to not accidentally step on a paw.
“I’m going to take a shower,” Cas says, once they’re done with the rough housing. Patting Dean’s back once, he leaves the kitchen and enters Dean’s room down the hall.
Warmer, now, with the extra movement in him, Dean leans against the counter to catch his breath. At least that’s what he tells himself, watching Cas mill around from door to door until he hears the bathroom shut and the shower start.
When Dean is sure that Cas is out of hearing range, he pulls out his phone.
“Bitch,” Dean starts, pressing the cold surface to his ear and cheek.
“Jerk.”
He smiles. “How’s it goin’?”
“Same old, same old. Got a case about to close up here real soon, so. Expect to see me at the Bunker in a few days.”
“You’ll be there,” Dean confirms. “Glad to hear it.”
“And you? Everything good?”
Dean shifts at the accusatory tone in Sam’s voice.
“Yeah, man. All good. Shop’s runnin’ just fine. Bobby says hi.”
A huff of laughter. “He still kickin’ your ass?”
Dean nods, even though Sam can’t see him. “Bobby’s Bobby. You know how he is, never a moment’s rest. Come to think of it, I actually had to remind him that it’s Christmas this week. The guy was asking if I’d be in on Friday. Had to tell him he wouldn’t be in on Friday, crazy bastard.” He hears Sam chuckle. “Oh hey, by the way, I think Rufus is coming with this year.”
“Really? Haven’t seen him since—”
“Yeah, I know. Well, he’ll be there—you can recount the tall tales of Rufus and Sammy to everyone as a Christmas present.”
There’s a pause, and Dean checks to see if the call had cut off before returning his phone to his ear.
“—coming?”
“Sorry, what?”
“Is Cas coming?”
Dean hears the shower shut off. The guy makes quick work.
“I was assuming,” he says.
“Well, you should ask.”
“Why?” Dean scoffs, “It’s pretty much a given, dude, he always comes.”
He can practically feel Sam’s eye roll over the phone.
“What?”
“I dunno, Dean, c’mon. You can’t just expect him to come whenever you call. He’s got his own family, you know, and—”
Dean grimaces, folding an arm over his chest. “No, he doesn’t. We’re his family. Those dickheads are—” He sighs, tries to contain the outburst before it can be unleashed. In…out.
“Trust me, Sam, he doesn’t want to see them. He’ll be at ours on Friday.”
“Dean—”
“Nice talkin’ to you, Sammy. I’ve gotta go, taking Cas to work.”
“Wait, he’s there?! Hang on a second—”
“Bye!”
He cuts the call before he can hear another word out of Sam, and just in time to see Cas in the bathroom doorway. He’s looking at Dean with his head tilted curiously, and Dean’s breath immediately catches in his chest.
“Was that Sam?” he asks. As if his hair isn’t all wet and towel-rustled, as if he isn’t dressed in Dean’s clothes.
“Yeah,” Dean croaks. He clears his throat. “Yeah, yes. He says hi.”
“I’m sorry I missed him,” Cas frowns, making his way over to Dean. Dean stills.
“It’s six,” Cas continues, “I should be at work by seven, if you can manage it.”
When Dean just stares back, Cas adds, “You should get dressed.”
“What’s wrong with this?”
“You’ve been wearing that hoodie for three days straight and you’re beginning to smell like Miracle,” he deadpans. “Go shower, I can wait.”
Dean pushes himself off the counter and brushes past him. “Thanks, Cas. How considerate.”
-
When Dean parks Baby in front of Heaven and Hell Cafe, he does so in his grey henley and several layers of long-sleeves, with jeans that do nothing to combat the cold.
Shivering, he follows Cas inside, and warmth envelops them upon entry, along with the jingle of the door bell.
“Cas!” comes a familiar voice. Dean hears more than sees a set of doors opening, and Jack is suddenly in front of them wearing a huge smile.
“Oh, Dean! Good to see you,” Jack lifts a hand in greeting, but it looks more like he wants a hug. Dean smiles back at him and waves.
“Hey, kiddo. Everything alright?”
Jack nods. “Yes. Although, I…I do need to see Cas for a second.”
“Oh, um. Of course.” Cas glances at Dean with a look that says ‘I’ll be right back,’ and follows Jack through the double doors that lead to the kitchen.
Dean trails after them half-way, stopping behind the counter to sleuth after some morning treats. He decides on what he thinks is a cinnamon roll, pulling it out of the casing and shutting the door as quickly as he’d opened it.
He stuffs the pastry in his hoodie’s pocket for later, and thanks the universe that it’s wrapped and won’t get covered in fuzz this time (he’d learned the hard way).
“—makes sense. Just let me know if anything changes.”
Cas appears through the doors looking slightly stressed. Dean fights to urge to get up and soothe, to run his hands across Cas’ shoulders and ease the tension there.
“You good?” Dean checks instead. Cas nods.
“Fine. Just…It’s fine. Didn’t you say you had shopping to do?”
“Are you kickin’ me out?” he jokes.
“No, but the shop opens in thirty minutes. Feel free to stick around if you’d like.” Cas’ eyes drop to Dean’s crotch area, and he quickly looks down to see what Cas is looking at.
“You can eat that here. No point in hiding it since the gig is up.” Dean lets out a breath. Cas had been staring at the lump in Dean’s hoodie pocket, where Dean was keeping his breakfast. What happened to ‘looking the other way?’
“Thanks, but you’re right, I should probably get going. I’ve gotta do errands and be at the shop later to work for a few hours. You coming over tonight?”
Cas pauses in the middle of putting his apron on, contemplating the question.
“No,” he says slowly. “Not tonight.”
Dean tries not to frown. Suddenly the weight of his phone in his pocket is ten times heavier than it was a few seconds ago. ‘Well, you should ask,’ the little voice inside his head that sounds like Sam, says. He sighs softly.
“How about, um. You’re—you’ll be there on Friday, right? Do you need a ride? I was planning on leaving on Thursday, if you wanted to come with. I know Claire’s heading out earlier. Jody, and all them, too…so.” Dean forces himself to meet Cas’ eyes. Something in his chest feels tight when he notices Cas’ expression has only gotten worse.
“I,” Cas starts, gaze falling to his shoes. “I don’t know, Dean.”
That thing in Dean’s chest solidifies and sinks to his stomach, settling there uncomfortably.
“Don’t know what?”
Cas starts rummaging through the bakery cases, adjusting things that don’t need to be adjusted, meticulously cleaning crumbs from platters and making sure the little banners with the pastry names on them are all straight and perfect.
“If I’ll be able to go,” he says finally, not looking up. “It’s the holidays and I’m busy here this season, people have been ordering pastries for Christmas, and I don’t know if I plan to close on Christmas day, because my regulars might want to come in still, and—“
“Cas,” Dean stops him, leaning over the counter. Cas notices and lightly tries to push him off so he can start on the counters, but Dean grabs his wrist to get his attention.
“You’re going to work yourself to death, man. It’s the holidays. Your regulars will understand if you don’t show up on Christmas, okay? And you’ve never had this issue any other year, so...” Dean makes Cas look at him. “What’s really bothering you?”
to be continued...

how 127 would react to accidentally hurting you
genre: fluff, some tiny spicier elements, but they’re so mild, attempts at humour, tiny bits of angst in some? wordcount: 5k warnings: a few instances of foul language an: none of the instances are serious, nor are they cases of emotionally hurting you, just them... being clumsy for example. gender neutral reader

taeil
after sidling into the kitchen after your search for your boyfriend proved fruitless, you finally found him as the culprit for the sinfully delicious scent wafting all throughout the dorms. he didn’t notice you right away, his attentions focused on the several pans simmering before him. it was always a immense  task cooking for so many kids members, so you waited for him to take a step back before announcing your presence. as soon as he heard your small ‘hi’ approaching him, he looked up with a shining smile.
“hey, love!” he greeted with a peck to your cheek.
“need any help?”
“ahh...” his head whipped to the stove top at the sound of spitting oil and he immediately picked up a spoon, “...actually, yes, the bowl by the sink can go through, i think.”
“got it,” you chirped, following his instructions though not without some wandering gazes as you passed. he was wearing a cute little apron, and as his partner, there was no real harm in admiring what it accentuated. what? you were looking respectfully...!
“cute butt.”
he hushed you with a glance at the door, leaving you to snicker.
reaching the sink you found your bowl. seeing the food inside made you almost drool, but you kept yourself together—you were nothing less than dutiful. though in that moment, you were also nothing more than a bit dumb too. figuring it was safe to hold, you went to pick up the bowl, only to drop it suddenly with a clatter with a hiss. of course it wasn’t as cool as you thought it was at all.
“love?” taeil was at your side in an instant, holding the back of the injured hand that you were staring at so intently.
“the bowl is still really hot,” you pouted. it hadn’t fallen far and the ceramic as well as the food inside were all safe. your fingers were just a bit reddened.
“here, run them under cold water,” taeil turned on the tap for you, before guiding your hand underneath the icy stream, “feel better?”
you nodded, though your eyes swept back to where the rest of the food was. “a little, but i think the eggs are going to over-boil.”
he cursed under his breath as he followed your line of sight, before meeting your gaze, “i can trust you to stay here, can’t i love?”
you rolled your eyes with a smile of your own and nodded once again.
“good,” he grinned before pecking you on the cheek and scurrying back to the stove.
“your butt is still cute.”
“shhh!”

johnny
there was no denying what a view the surrounding valley made, its gleaning emerald sheets cracked with narrow crevices and streams of water. you’d climbed all the way to the summit of a pile of disjointed slate just to reach a divot in the cliff side where johnny could take his photos with a better vantage. the climb, however, seemed to take nothing out of him, as he practically skipped up excitedly like a mountain goat. you on the other hand, were left quite out of breath at the steep clamber to the top. he waited for you for most of it, reaching out to help you up, but soon you waved him along. once you’d reassured him you didn’t mind him going ahead, he gave your hand a squeeze before continuing up the rest of the way. truth be told you didn’t want him to see just how much of mess you were. you really wished you’d gone to bed earlier the night before.
as soon as you reached the top, you made a beeline to the nearest big stone that you could perch on and rest your legs. johnny was already by the edge, camera raised an gazing into the distance with a bright grin on his handsome face. he could take your breath away just doing the bare minimum—it was a shame that you had already lost most of it to the climb.
slowly you regained your breath and felt the twinge in the soles of you feet ease. noting how beautiful he looked with the dramatic backdrop behind him, you snuck a photo of your own on your phone, before deciding to join him.
unfortunately, after you ambled over the uneven ground, just as you quietly came came to his side, johnny realised the strap of his camera wasted caught up with the tethers of his hoodie. and so he decided the easiest way to rectify it would to pulling his hand holding his camera abruptly to the side.
knocking you in the cheek, you yelped as soon as he made contact. head whipping across to you he sweeps you to his chest
“oh baby, i’m so sorry!” his head immediately whipped over to you, and shoving his camera round to his side, he swept you to his chest. “i’m so sorry, baby, i didn’t see you there.”
as you grumbled, he kissed your cheek carefully and ran the pads of his fingers across it. when you didn’t flinch and merely whined, he simply laughed sheepishly—thankfully it didn’t hurt too much, but there was no way you weren’t going to tease him with it as comeuppance.
“johnnyyy—how could you do such a thing!”
“i’m sorry, really i am!”
“yeah, you will be.”
“what does that mean?”
you didn’t respond.
“...yn?”

taeyong
having gotten all dolled up and ready for your date, taeyong offered to tie your shoelaces to save you having to readjust your outfit. obviously he was so cute and attentive you agreed. watching him carefully tie your laces with a dopey smile on your lips, you winced at how tight he pulled them. you didn’t say anything though, since you figured you’d get used to it after a bit of walking. unfortunately though it was not to be.
after leaving the house and making your way to the restaurant beneath the starlit autumn evening, your arm in his, you found yourself struggling to keep up. taeyong was a gentleman, and he’d slowed to match your pace several times. in fact he hadn’t even registered how tiny your steps were now, rambling on about his plans for his animal crossing island.
“at first i thought i was going to do a summery beach town vibe, but then i saw these really cute bricks paths online, and i realised i had to change everything to fit them—”
there was no doubt he was adorable, doe eyes glittering with the silver of the streetlights above as he glanced forward and back to you. his gaze never roamed far, he always returned to you, your cheeks, your lips. normally he could distract you from everything, the whole world moving past behind you like a dream, while you hung off his every sweet word. however, it seemed you had found the one exception.
your shoes were squeezing your feet too tight—something they never did before—and it all pointed to the laces being done up too tight. you internally grimaced every time you considered bringing it up to him, because you didn’t want to make him upset. nor could you just stop and retie them, since the street was lined with nowhere to lift your feet high yet discreet enough.eventually the inner turmoil and the ache of your feet gave way and you came to a stop.
“yn? sweetheart? are you alright?” taeyong wouldn’t even take a step further ahead, his arm slipping from yours just so he could stand before you and check you were alright.
“i think you did the laces too tight, yongie,” you admitted shyly, “i’m really sorry.”
to your surprise, he didn’t get upset one bit—or at least, not at what you expected.
“oh sweetheart, why didn’t you say?” he asked, concern etched on his features as he got down on one knee. the position shocked you too at first, though you knew he was just going to do your shoelaces again. undoing them and retying them, before glancing up at you with those big eyes that made you melt every time you met them, he checked if your shoes felt looser.
“much better,” you stuttered, watching him shyly as he stood, his signature squishy smile returning.
“i’ll always be more careful from now on, love, ok?” he stroked some hair behind your ear and kissed your nose. “ready to keep going?”

doyoung
it was a simple matter of neither of you checking where you were going.
on the living room side of the door, you had stood from your seat to head into the kitchen to fetch some snacks for you and taeil. friday night, because of how you and your best friend’s schedules convened, had become movie night and after babbling for nearly an hour you decided to get on with starting your film before the gamers wanted the tv.
on the other side of the door, meanwhile, doyoung was listening to jungwoo tell a story that he swore was true that happened way before they had met. the storyteller in question was perched on the stool by the island in the centre of the kitchen, leaning on his hands neatly and watching as doyoung searched for a phone charger.
“jungwoo are you sure there isn’t one by you?” he’d interjected, running a hand through his dark fluffy hair while scouring the other counter-tops once again.
“hundred percent!”
doyoung sighed. “sorry woo, i’ll be back, just going to ask johnny if i can borrow his.”
reaching the door at the same time, you had been calling over your shoulder to taeil after he asked which studio ghibli film you wanted, when the door swung open into you.  you managed to swerve your body out of the way, though you weren’t as lucky with your foot.
wood met your big toe and you hissed, hopping back to rest against the arm of the nearest sofa.
“oh my god, yn!”
taking to your side in a rush with a panicked look on his face, you smiled sheepishly up at him from where you were leant against the arm of the nearest sofa. “i’m ok, doie, i promise.”
your response however didn’t stop him from fussing over you a single bit. apologies stuttering from his lips as his hands brushed across your shoulders to your fingers and up to your cheeks, you just chuckled him as you rubbed your toe gently.
“this isn’t funny yn!” he insisted while cupping your chin and stroking hair out of your face. “i didn’t know you were there and—are you ok? do you want any ice?”
you exhaled deeply, calm in the face of his frantic, searching eyes. “kim doyoung. i’m fine.”
and with that, you pressed a kiss to his nose quickly, and within seconds of his affection-caused stupor he found you already back on your feet, passing him by into the kitchen with a bump to his hip as you went. he stared speechless as you left him, to just greet jungwoo as if nothing had happened. the man in question responded sweetly as he always did, but then turned to doyoung and his smile grew too wide for his own good.
“go away jungwoo,” he mumbled, to which the younger looked offended.
“it’s not my fault you’re adorable!”
it won’t last super long, as hell pull away to check you’re ok, a hand on your back. “yn, i’m sorry i didn’t know you were there, are you alright? ”

yuta
“honestly, i can’t believe he even told me that. like you’d think there are just things that you would never admit to, even when drunk but—”
“he’s a solid lightweight, yuta! that much alcohol and he might as well have been a puddle; a sappy, emotional, puddle of—”
after a successful date, the two of you were walking home hand in hand when you came across a small group of kids playing football on the green near your apartment. you didn’t think much of it, until the ball rolled away from them just a few steps ahead of you. without a second thought, yuta let go of your hand to retrieve it for them, and you could already tell where this would end up going. coming to a stop with a sigh and a laugh, you watched as the events all unfurled just like how you expected.
the ball would be by his feet, he’d pull some cool little tricks that would make the kids stare up in awe, and within minutes he’d be attempting to teach them how to bounce a ball behind you your heel.
it never stopped amazing you just how he insisted on subtly showing off to you, even so far into your relationship. you always felt yourself urged to laugh and tell him he didn’t have to anymore. “you’ve already won me,” you would joke.
but you never did. guess that meant it kept working.
grinning from ear to ear at the adorable sight of yuta acting like a father, you had to bite your tongue to stop yourself from cooing when one of the eldest of the group took to him like duck to water. he’d knelt to be closer to her level, holding the ball and helping her get the angle of her foot right all while she gazed at him eagerly. the whole scenario began to spin thought in your head, second-guessing the answers you had given in a special conversation not too long ago. unfortunately, it mant you didn’t see the ball coming your way.
you had to admit when you hunched over out of reflex at the contact that the girl had a mighty kick. your shin was practically throbbing. however you were well aware of the panicked faces staring at you, frozen in gasps with hands smacked over their gawping mouths, and so you straightened as quickly as you could, playing off the ache of a bruise that was no doubt forming as yuta called out to you.
“yn, love, are you ok?!”
“y-yeah!” you cleared your throat as soon as you heard your stutter. “she’s got a strong leg that one!”
because of the soft tone yuta spoke in and the distance, you couldn’t discern what he said to the young girl who looked on the verge of tears. whatever he said however, worked, and within seconds she was wiping away her tears with a giggle.  before your thoughts could trail back to where they had squirrelled your attentions away and got you in this small mess, yuta was bidding them goodbye and jogging over to you.
“i’m so sorry, love, i should’ve checked which way she was facing. are you sure you’re ok?” his arm was around your shoulders in an instant, his free hand hovering by your cheeks as if waiting to be allowed to hold them again.
“yeah, i’m alright, i think.”
his eyes seemed to brighten carefully with a playful glint, “i don’t need to carry my princess?”
you snorted, slowly easing the two of you into a slow space.
“what? you know i always will if you ask!”
you hushed him and swatted at his hand by your jaw. finally relaxing with a laugh, his arm slipped from your shoulders down to your waist where he pulled you close, and his lips planted a kiss into your hair.
“you’ll always be my princess,” he whispered gently. and in that moment you felt yourself melt. truly you didn’t need him to carry you home, but there was nothing wrong with letting him help you only a little bit right? and so you gave in, leaning into his side and resting your head on his shoulder, your eyes fluttering closed.

jaehyun
you hadn’t been overly convinced about jaehyun’s suggestion for your holiday destination. however, now you had to admit that you were thoroughly won over. the town was so peaceful, the air so fresh, and if this gentle path was anything to go by, it felt like the gentler adventures in a ghibli movie.
lined with arching trees dripping with wisteria you were stunned by its beauty. even when you glanced away your attentions were enraptured were more colours. the hydrangeas and other bushes you couldn’t recognise, their scents lifting your spirits and mottled lilacs shifting into branches of pink and blue being truly satisfying to take in even at a distance.  coming closer you could see the soft fuzzy balls of gold and onyx bumbling about the flowers, and you couldn’t help but try and take photos of the bees.
it proved harder than you expected—who knew bumble bees could be so fast when they wanted to be. noticing that you had only managed to catch blurs so far, you became acutely aware of jaehyun sneaking glances at you. again. like he always did. admiring your smile instead of the beauty around him like you always lightly chided him for.  “you’ll miss out on what’s actually worthy of your attention at that moment!” you always found yourself saying, but he always shook his head and swore otherwise. you did suppose your words made you a bit of a hypocrite though—it wasn’t like you didn’t watch jaehyun too, and almost just as often as him for that matter.
shaking your head and pretending to not notice his gaze you crept even closer to the flowers, where your eyes suddenly picked up on the perfect moment encapsulated in the bud of fresh crimson. a bumble bee, fast asleep in the cradle of a flower. you felt your heart melt as you took a cautious photo, not wanting to wake the little bub. strangely you couldn’t stop yourself from making the link between it and jaehyun. the way it was curled round just reminded you of how you always found jaehyun in the morning, especially after a particularly rough day. he always made a cocoon of the duvets for the two of you—perhaps without even realising it—and he often curled up. it wasn’t what you had expected of him, but you didn’t care—playing little spoon was just as fun to you.
feeling the need to hold him again you left the small bee in peace and crept towards the man you held so close to your heart. you found his attentions turned to the canopies above rather than you, so you figured it was a prime opportunity to strike. with a back hug. you were feeling too soft.
jogging to catch up knowing full well he was probably too out of it to notice—he could get so deep in his own thoughts sometimes—you managed to get right behind him, when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks.
you crashed into him with an ‘oof’, and immediately jaehyun turned around to see you rubbing your nose with a pout.
“ah, sorry baby!” he chuckled simply, kissing you cheek gently in an extra apology, before scooping you round and into his arms.
you didn’t think any more of it, and merely sank into his embrace. his hugs were always so warm and you absently nuzzled your cheek into his chest. perhaps you would have worried about coming to a stop in the middle of the path, but honestly, you had more important things to worry about. like, how you were practically a ragdoll in his arms. you hoped you wouldn’t stumble when you had to walk again like last time.

sicheng
hazy images of a peaceful corner store blinkered out like an old tv set as you were suddenly awoken with a jolt. a dull ache pooled at your hip and you grumbled as you forced your eyes open.
what you found was enough to bring a drowsy smile to your lips. you knew full well you had fallen asleep facing away from your boyfriend, but now you were much much closer, meaning both of you had shimmied towards one another throughout the night.  in respect to the pain in your side, you traced your eyes down where the blankets had receded—sicheng was such a blanket thief, and with the single thin layer you both had swivelled round his legs, tonight was clearly no different—to where you spotted his hand.
loosely flung across your waist, it was cold thanks to the open window sending a breeze through your room, and clearly the culprit to your sudden awakening.
still, he looked so sweet with his face scrunched into his pillow, hair splayed like a mussed crown and soft lips in a pout. and so you opted to just move on. he was lucky he was so cute.
shifting closer to him, you entwined your leg with one of his and reached across to stroke a lock of his fringe out of his eyes. he shifted at your touch in his sleep, revealing his face from the cloth of the pillow. in the shadows of the early morning you saw his sleeping scowl soften when you ran your thumb across his cheek soothingly.
feeling satisfied, you tucked your head beneath his and held his hand by his  chest, before finally giving back into sleep.

jungwoo
bright lights shining in the face of a brilliant fading sun, faces passed you by as you strode down the sidewalk. perhaps on a normal occasion you would’ve slowed down, but there was no way you could in this situation—you were too excited. your boyfriend was home.
turning the corner and narrowly avoiding an elderly lady, as the crowds dispersed you came to a stuttered stop. the world around you faded away just like it had done the first time you had kissed, as your eyes met his. they widened in awe, brimming with a starlit sky, before he smiled, and you felt your heart stop.
you hadn’t expect to miss him so much. it was only two weeks, you had insisted to yourself for the days leading up to his tour, others have had to wait longer, you’ll be fine.  you had believed it with your whole body, but as the days winded like paths in a lost forest and the pressures winded you down, the weight of his missing touch had swollen to where you could barely bear it.
and maybe you were being dramatic—you chided yourself for it as if you were—but as soon as soon as his arms were around you, you felt the tears prickle in the corner of your eyes.
“y/n, i missed you so much,” jungwoo murmured, sweet voice so soft it could have been swept away.
you rested your head upon his shoulder, where it belonged and breathed in the scent of home. everything that had plagued you before felt manageable once again.
“i wish you could have come with me, it felt so weird without you—and i bet it would have been ten times as fun! not that it wasn’t fun, just...”
you chuckled at his ramblings, gripping at his hoodie as he squeezed you tighter.
“ahh, i missed you...!” he drawled, voice playfully gritty as he pressed his cheek into your crown.
still laughing and feeling the tears long gone, you ended up tugging at his back, “woo! i—can’t... breathe!”
he pulled away with a yelp, his hands coming to rest at your cheeks instead and apologised softly over and over again, though a bright smile remained on his lips. his touch—like always—lingered, and so his fingers traced up to stroke your hair, while he leant in to plant kisses on your cheeks through your laughter.
“i missed you too,” you whispered, linking your hands behind his neck when he stilled.
he pressed his forehead to yours wordlessly, his eyes fluttering closed. it had obviously been a tough time for him too—he liked a lot of affection, so there was no doubt he was just as touch starved as you were.
of course though, your luck would inevitably run out and it did so in the form of donghyuck calling over to the two of you.
“hey lovebirds, some of us actually want to eat, you know?”
the time away had also let some of the others clearly forget some things too.
“come on, we’d better go before youngest decides to go feral,” you said.
“you think he’d do it?”
you peered up at your boyfriend with an exaggerated look of disbelief. “you have met hyuck, right?”

mark
“ha! nice try!”
“that was close! you gotta admit that was close!”
after your friends all decided to go camping and finally bought a tent big enough for a few extra people, you asked mark if he wanted to go too. he’d answered yes without a hesitation of course, and before you knew it the day before the trip rolled round and it was time to pack. of course, you and your boyfriend could never stay focused for more than three minutes when together, and it led to the two of you going from passing clothes to one another to neatly pack into your suitcases to just straight up lobbing socks at one another.
“is this one of your socks or mine?”
“definitely yours, i would never wear such a thing.”
“are you hating on melons?”
“watermelons cancelled, avocados superior—mark!”
it had only digressed from there. now your bedroom was littered with random socks and the odd shirt and you were taking cover behind your side of the bed. with a balled up sock in one hand, the other feeling around for more ammunition behind you, you were waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
“you’re gonna miss,” mark teased from his makeshift trench.
“oh really?” you couldn’t hide the smile that was evident in your voice. “how about this:i’m going to hit you bullseye, and you—you want to know where your sock is going to go?”
“where’s it gonna go, babe?”
“it’s going to go aaall the way over there!” you pointed to the door on the other side of the room. the only issue with that was a blur of navy suddenly shot past your hand, forcing you to retreat further behind your cover.
“ha! you missed!” you exclaimed, before twigging the silver lining. “also, thanks for the ammo.” stretching out a leg to retrieve the sock, you unfortunately found it just out of reach. you cursed.
“what’s wrong babe, too scared to face me?”
you scoffed. “what’s scary about you mark? no offence, but i feel like i’m being threatened by a cupcake.”
you had an exaggerated gasp from the other side of the bed, and took it as the prime opportunity to strike. get him while he’s still reeling. a fantastic plan.
however, in the joy of concocting what you thought was an infallible plan, you completely failed to consider your boyfriend’s frankly inhuman reactions.
and so you stood, raised your arm, and then got pink cotton in your mouth.
you sputtered, staggering back, as mark's hands flew to his lips. “oh my gosh, baby—!”
despite the dryness that quickly left your tongue as you batted it away and how startled you were at the accuracy, you fell into fits of giggles. “mark, you shit!”
he didn’t share the same sentiment however, and once he’d overcome being frozen to the spot he began to hurry to your side. “baby, i’m so sorry, are you ok? are you sure you’re alright?”
he was met with a balled up sock bouncing off his forehead.

hyuck
the movie was nowhere near as good as you had all expected it to be, which meant it was only a matter of time before the whole dorm descended into madness. it had been jisung, oddly, that had been the first one to speak up about how ridiculous one of the characters was behaving, and it had led all the others to join the bandwagon and begin cackling at all the plot-holes—and boy were there a lot of them.
you had mostly stayed quiet simply because the way donghyuck posed his jokes and criticisms was something you could never compete with, and you would much rather listen and laugh about what he had to say rather than do so. the two of you had cozied up together beneath a blanket, but as soon as the chaos ensued he had shifted away, ripping on the film with wild hand movements and adding onto the points that jaemin proposed with a huge grin.
you watched him, only glancing over at the tv screen whenever some horrifically edgy dialogue was grumbled, as he impersonated the main protagonist—the stereotypical grisly ‘morally-grey’ hero who was really just a dick.  in an instant mark’s famous high-pitch laugh lilted across the air, and you were left reeling with everyone else.
unfortunately, it was cut short. your boyfriend, forgetting your proximity, decided to continue with one of his points, dipping into genuine criticism that even you were proud of, but happened to fling his hand out in emphasis.
his knuckle whacked your arm, and though it wasn’t hard it did hurt a bit and you immediately whined, “owwww!”
as the rest of dream choked on their own laughter or waited to see if you were ok—what an angel jisung was, and as for the rest you made a mental note to kick their asses later—donghyuck’s words stopped dead in their tracks as his attentions turned solely to you, as he reflected your hurt tone.
“ahh, yn, i’m so sorry, i’m so sorry, please forgive meee.” he rubbed your arm gently before peppering your face with kisses, which was enough to get your to crack a smile once again.
“hmmm,” you pretended to think about it for a moment, “i’m not sure though... what you did was pretty—”
“ynnnnn!”
you scoffed teasingly, but pulled him into your arms nevertheless. letting him drape himself across your shoulder, you took his hand into your own and wrapped your free arm around him to pull him closer.
“i forgive you, duck,” you reassured, petting his hair when he hummed in response.

love you - Nolan Patrick and Travis Konecny
Tumblr media
You were in the middle of setting up your sleeping bags when Nolan’s laugh made its way into your ear. While he prefered to keep up a stoic front for the media you’ve come to be spoiled by it in private during the last few months. Suddenly Travis’ laugh joined Nolan’s and you couldn’t help but smile more. Curious as to what made them laugh so hard you stuck your head out of the big tent you had brought along to look at your two boys. Nolan was sitting on his butt behind one of the logs surrounding the fireplace. He was curled up, laughing full force, his cheeks tinted a dark red and an expression full of joy.
Travis on the other hand was laying close to the water, his cargo shorts tangled around his legs and his face full off mud, laughing so hard tears left tracks through it. The entire scene was too funny for you to not join in on their laughter. Once the three of you calmed down they explained the situation to you. Nols wanted to start a fire for dinner whereas Teeks thought that going skinny dipping would be a great afternoon activity. Only he slipped still half clothed and fell face first into mud which caused Nolan to laugh so hard he fell over the log on the ground.
Since Travis had to take a dip to clean up anyway you decided that skinny dipping sounded like a nice thing to do, both to cool down from the summer heat and tease your boys a little. Without any hesitation you pulled your dress over your head, grinning to yourself when their looks automatically went to your nearly naked body.
“Last one in the water has to cook dinner tonight!” You laughed as you pulled your underwear down and took of into the lake.
Travis and Nolan where both yelling behind you but instead of listening to their bickering you simple dipped your head under water, drowning out the noise. When you ran out of breath you come up again, wet hair clinging to your body, seeing TK and Nolan watching you closely. Their eyes ran up and down your partially hidden figure.
it was Travis that broke the silence. “Nolan was last.” He said, eyes still fixated on where your breast breaching the surface.
“Okay so Nolan has to cook.” You smiled at them before splashing them directly in the face.
Of course they retaliated and before you knew it you had a full on water fight until two strong arms wrapped around your body and pulled you against a warm hard body. Grinning you spun around, planting a big fat smooch on whichever man had managed to grab you. From the kiss alone you immediately knew it was Nolan. One of his hands went up to your jaw, moving your chin up a bit so he could deepen the kiss while his other arm pulled you tighter against him. You got lost in the feeling of him and the way he slowly moved his thigh between your legs, giving you something to grind against.
A cold swall of watered covered you both, causing you to pull away in a shriek. TK stood a few feet away, a smug little smile on his face. “I thought Patty was supposed to go make dinner?”
Sighing Nolan pulled away from you but not before he gave you one last kiss. On his way out of the lake he splashed the grinning Travis, who only began to smile harder.
“I’m sorry baby,” he said, sliding into the spot Nolan had vacated, “I know he got you all hot and then had to leave but I’m here to help,” It was kind of a dick move but both of them were hot as fuck so you didn’t hold a grudge. You let TK pull you close and run his hands over your body. The lake water was cool enough to make your nipples harden on your chest and his gaze immediately drops to them again. Whereas Nolan kept his hands on your waist to help you grind against him Travis lets his roam free. Just a gentle touch all over before He touches your core. His finger feels wonderfully warm against your clit before they wander towards your fold and in your head you’re screaming ‘do it’ only for him to move on with nothing more than a teasing touch.
His hands wandered down your thighs before he grabbed your ass and lifting you up up high for you to wrap your legs around his waist. The water made it easier for TK to hold you up, one arm below your butt and the other one reaching up to run his fingers along the outline of your now exposed breast. More of your upper body was outside of the water now and the slight wind caused goosebumps to form across your skin. You knew exactly why he had lifted you up.
The TK’s mouth on your cheat was overwhelming. He didn’t play around, just sucked one of your nipples into his mouth and engulfed the hard nub with warmth. His tongue toyed with it for a moment before Nolan’s voice rang around the campsite. “Dinner’s ready.”
Travis playfully lightly bit down on your nipple making you squeal in surprise before he moved to put you back down. “Way to ruin the moment, Patso.”
“Don’t pout asshole, you did the same.” Came the reply.
The two of you left the water to join Nolan for dinner. Still feeling very much in the mood you didn’t bother to change back into the clothes you wore before, instead choosing to steal one of the guys hoodies in the tent and your sleep shorts. Wrapping your wet hair in a towel you walked back out to find TK already sitting next to Nolan on the fireplace logs so you decided to plop down on the other side of him.
“What’s for dinner?” You asked. While you all did the shopping for your camping trip together there were still several options and the smell gave nothing away except that it was grilled over the fire.
Nolan handed you a plate already filled up. “Those weird sausages from that store TK likes and veggies. I made you some separately tho since i know you don’t like them.”
Knowing Nolan remembered made you feel warm inside. It was the small things in life.
“Oh and i got that soda from that one store hipster store you like, it’s in the cooler but i can get it for you if you want to.” You knew exactly what store he meant but you also knew that it was across Philly and would have spent ages driving there just for your favorite soda. He would never admit to it out loud but you knew Patty was the biggest softie.
“Thank you Nolan,” You gave him a sweet soft kiss before leaning into his side, “You’re the best.”
On the other side of Nolan Travis stood up abruptly before walking to the cooler and coming back with your fancy hipster soda and two beers for himself and Nols. “See i can be sweet too. Nolan just got his dumb service kink or whatever.” He grumpily gave each of you your bottles.
“Oh Teeks,” you mumbled before pulling him to sit on your other side, essentially sandwiching yourself in between them. “You’re the best too, you don’t need to be jealous. Nolan just likes taking care of us and it’s very sweet of him to do so but that doesn’t make him a better part of this relationship than you and me, okay? We’re all equal.” Putting your plate down you pulled him into a hug once your lap was free again. He snuggled in for a moment before you felt Patty’s ong arms wrap around the two of you. He gave TK a giant smacking kiss on the head before mumbling “love you, asshole” to which Travis mumbled “love you too, bitch” back.
You finished dinner in peace. It was awesome and the seasoning and marinade on everything just pulled the entire meal together. You and TK quickly took care of the dishes since Nolan cooked for you earlier before you went and sat back down on the log and just watched the fire for a bit more. During the last few days you had talked a lot. Sharing childhood memories about going camping with friends or family. Telling each other of a close encounter with wildlife or bragging the size of fishes they had caught. It was sweet to just sit back and share stories and laugh together.
Before long you all decided to go to bed a bit earlier today. While you had stayed up late the days before and watched the stars in the sky, the hike you had undertaken earlier that day tired all three of you out so you made sure the fire would die down soon and then retreated back to your tent.
Your boys went all out when they had planned your trip and thankfully were able to borrow a giant tent from a teammate so all three of you fit in it comfortably. Instead of sleeping bags you just had a nice mat at the bottom and then the big summer blanket from your bed in Philly. Travis was already under it half asleep when you came back from brushing your teeth while Nolan still up putting his stuff back in the bags in the corner. Careful to not disturb Teeks you slid under the blanket and waited for Nolan to lie down as well. His large body laid down next to you and you immediately attached yourself to his side, turning so your back was to Travis. He used this opportunity to spoon up behind you, grinding his crotch against your ass just for good measure. With a sigh you rested your head on Nolan chest and closed your eyes, smiling softly when you felt TK reach over you to hold Patty’s hand while the three of you slept.
You woke to Travis very softly grinding something definitely not so soft against you. Blinking the sleep out of your eyes you waited for a moment before you heard his even breathing, confirming what you already thought. It wasn’t the first time TK grinded on you in his sleep and it would definitely not be the last. It was kinda cute that he couldn’t hold back from finding you so desirable, even in his sleep, but it woke the fire from yesterday in you again and now you wanted more.
Nolan was still asleep as well but he’d be easier to wake up. You trailed your hand over his chest, gently running your nails across his skin. When his breathing changed and you knew he was awake despite his still closed eyes your hand wandered down, gently touching him over his sweats. “Hmmmm, somebody’s in a good mood.” He mumbled, causing you to giggle quietly.
“I’m not the only one.” You whispered back, both meaning Travis who was still busy rutting against your butt and Nolan who was half hard under your hand.
He looked past you to Travis and what he was doing and instantly knew what your plan was. Nolan shimmied his sweats down under his butt to give you better access before bending down and taking your mouth in a soft and filthy kiss. You were still just petting at him, lightly teasing so the fun wouldn’t be over before Teeks could join. By turning more of your body and not just your attention to Nolan you were pushing your butt into Travis and his thrusts anyway so a bit of wiggling and pressing back surely wouldn’t hurt. You mind was racing, occupied by swallowing Nolan’s moans and continuing to tease him, and Travis who was so hot against your back, and the sheer amount of neediness you felt. It was almost like heaven when you felt Travis move behind you. You were so occupied by the situation that you had missed TK waking up until you felt his hand that had rested on the dip of your waist slide down into your sleep shorts and to your core. The feeling of his fingers touching your folds made you gasp, allerting Nols to the now awake Travis. His hand found it’s way to your jar, tilting your head just right so that he could kiss you again while TK’s skilled fingers carefully avoided your clit and instead began to explore your pussy. His hips stopped moving with intent and instead his focus was turned towards you.One of his fingers entered you and you couldn’t help but sigh against Nolan’s mouth. You had been craving the feeling of something inside you for hours so even one of his talented fingers made you feel slightly overwhelmed. You hand on Nolan’s dick stopped but he didn’t see to care, instead running his hands over your arms and body, under the hoodie you stole from them and to your breasts. As Travis gave you a second finger Nolan started playing with them. Pinching your nipples and grabbing your boobs in his big hands. The idea of the two of them just playing with you was one of your favorite fantasies but you needed more.
“Please.” You gasped out, desperate for anything they were willing to give you. Your eyes were closed in an attempt to hold yourself together but you knew that they were silently communicating above your head.
Nols moved your face a bit so you could look at him. “Do you want to suck me off while Teeks fucks you, love?” His tone was so gentle and sweet and you knew that even after everything if you didn’t say yes now they’d both immediately stop. But you needed it.
“Please.” You begged him, desperate for it.
It was quick work getting rid of your shorts and arranging your bodies. At first you whimpered when Travis removed his fingers but seconds later they were replaced by his dick and you couldn’t help but loudly moan. Finally.
It wasn’t the hard fucking you were expecting but rather both men decided to take their time. Travis trust into you languidly, trying to savour every moment and every moment not spent moaning Nolan was telling you how good your lips felt wrapped around his dick and gently petting your hair or playing with your breasts. They took their time playing with you.
“Baby,” Nolan began, causing you to glance up at him, “I’m about to come, okay? You do whatever you want, swallow or let me finish on you, or whatever you want. Fuck, you’re hot!” Feeling challenged you knew exactly what you wanted. You took him even deeper, desperate to make him finish and show him just how sweet and hot you could be for him. He moaned loudly and seconds later you could feel him pulsing on your tongue. You quickly swallowed everything before pulling off, pressing on last little kiss to his tip.
“I love you.” He breathlessly mumbled as he fell back, all his energy completely spent on you.
Behind you Travis took this as his sign that it was your turn now and gently helped you move over until your head was gently resting on Nols thighs while he doubled his efforts. His thrust gained power and he became fast and it was obvious he was chasing his own high but you knew he’d never allow himself to come first, always putting your pleasure before his. Fingers found your clit again and were seeing sparks.
When you came too again Nolan was wearing pants again but Travis was still holding himself above you. Sometimes after sex he liked to stay inside of you for a bit and just feel where you are connected. He was pressing small little kisses all over your shoulder.
“You okay?” Nolan asked from beside you, running his hands through your hair again. You smiled up at him before a yawn interrupted.
“Yeah, but now i’m tired again. What time’s it? Do we have to get up already?” TK grumbled against your skin again and and that moment you really wanted to go back to napping with him.
Nolan checked his phone real quick before turning his attention back on you. “It’s still early love. You can go back to sleep for a bit while i go make breakfast, okay?” His smile was soft and sleepy and once again you were overcome with nothing but sweet pure love for him.
“Okay. Love you.” You smiled before pursing your lips at him in an exaggerated way, silently asking for a kiss.
“Love you too.” Nolan bend down to press one against your mouth before getting up and leave the tent.”
Travis was still laying on top of you but you knew napping would be nicer in a different position.”Told you he has a service kink.” He grumbled as he shifted from you and back to your side.
You let out a little sigh when the movement caused him to slide out of you, already missing the feeling of his warmth stretching you out. “Come on,” You said, rolling to your side so you were spooned to his front like you were last night. “Can you put it in again?” Travis complied wordlessly, entering you again and pulling you closer with his arms around your waist.
You just took a second to enjoy the moment, one beautiful boy preparing coffee for you and another beautiful boy beside you in bed. You never truly understood what you did to deserve being loved by both of them but you wouldn’t change it for anything in this world. “I love you.” You whispered into the tent, behind you Travis was already snoring softly.

Using Cookies to Break the Ice
This is my secret Santa gift for @infinimay
For @secret-shifters
Sorry for it being late. Some reason my account would not post anything. I would upload it, but nothing showed up. I called and got it fixed today. Hope you enjoy it!
"Hey, Virg! Where ya at?!"
Roman wandered around the house trying to locate the little guy. Knowing him he was most likely hiding. He never understood why he did this, they had to be passed this stage in their friendship. He knew seeing someone close to twenty times your size had to be frightening, maybe even scarring, but it wasn't like he did anything to warrant this fear. Maybe it was his energetic aura he had attached to him since he was a born dramatist, or maybe it was even how loud he was when he was excited or practicing his lines, but it shouldn't be this bad.
The Prince wandered through every room in his small one-bedroom apartment trying to find a sign. A crumb. A tool left behind. Maybe even the guy's hoodie. Something. He would even appreciate a scared squeak only because that was an indication he was inside.
"Hey Emo! You gotta tell me where you're at!" Maybe calling the borrower by his hated nickname would get him to come running out.
Nothing
He wandered over to the window with worry. "That idiot wouldn't have gone outside would he?"
Roman hoped...no prayed the borrower wasn't that frightened he tried to go outside. That would be a suicide mission, especially since that's why the borrower even met the human in the first place.
About a week ago the biggest blizzard came rolling in. The biggest anyone has seen in years. Most houses were snowed in only the lucky ones could even step outside, but why would they? You couldn't even reach your vehicles that had literal sheets if ice caked on them. For two days straight the wind screamed and raged at Roman to open his door to come outside just so it could claim one victim. After those two days, the storm became a snow day. The wind halted like God commanded it to die down and the weather was no match to that power. The snow still came down with a total of a few more inches after one more day.
Roman was cuddled in his red fuzzy blanket just ready for this all to end. He luckily had a generator for the necessities along with the warmest fire he has made in a long time and a mug of hot chocolate at his side. Nothing was going to make him budge from his forced vacation. Nothing except a little visitor.
As he was trying to fall asleep and balance a cup of boiling cup of chocolate in his hand he noticed something run right in front of the fire. At first, Roman didn't even think twice. A mouse. Probably a creature that ran into his house to get out of the storm. Nothing major he just had to decide between letting it go or removing all of his comfort items just to grab a rat and toss it back outside.
Reluctantly he moved his blanket to the side while placing the cup on the table. "I can't let something get into my food, I should probably take care of this."
The creak of the couch under his moving body was what caused the creature to spin around.
Both creature and Prince stared at each other for a few seconds. This was the first time Roman got a good look at the mouse in front of him...well borrower.
Shaking in place was a smaller human. Roman couldn't tell if the shaking was from fear or the cold. Could have been both at this point. The smaller human life form had on a purple and black cloth that was made into a loose shirt. It looked like a pretty good imitation of a sweatshirt. He wore blackish pants and messed up hair that was doused in melting snow. Well, his whole body was soaking wet, probably from the ice and snow already melting from the warmth.
That night Roman welcomed the new visitor. If he was so desperate to just run out into the open right in front of a human then he needed the kindness. The prince made sure to give him pieces of his cloth and any food he needed that night. He didn't get much in return besides the borrower's name. He didn't share any information, didn't say how old he was, even to give the borrower items Roman had to slide them over to him since the little dark boy didn't want to come anywhere close to the human unless he had to. Roman agreed to just give the guy space and if he did then the borrower would stay here until the snow melted. For a few days now the two have been...cohabitating. They would talk once in a while but never sat down to eat together or talk for long periods. At this point, Roman's curiosity was running like crazy. He had to find out something, get him to talk, something or all of this would be a waste, plus not knowing exactly who was living with him wasn't exactly unnerving, but it would be nice to know the guys eating habits, sleep schedule, family, something.
Today he officially decided no more hiding, he would force the little guy to come out and join him even if it killed him. "Hot topic!" he looked around one last time to make sure he wasn't around the house before putting his coat on. He was not leaving him outside.
"What do you want Roman! I was trying to sleep!" Virgil came stumbling out from underneath the couch rubbing at his eyes. He could see the relieved sight that was Roman but tried his best to ignore it.
"Well my two-inch dark friend we are celebrating the holidays and since you are a guest here you are joining in."
"Yeah, I'm good." Virgil started to walk back underneath the couch to continue with his sleeping but felt a warmth around his torso that he never wanted present. Ever. "I told you to never touch me!"
This was the first time since the borrower came to stay with him that he had the small human in his hand. He knew he probably shouldn't have done this, but he wanted to make sure the little guy knew what he planned. They had to try, but that wouldn't happen if the borrower was given the choice. He could feel the small struggles graze across his humongous hand. He knew this had to be uncomfortable. "Trust me, I don't want to do this either."
"Then put me down Princy!"
There were a few times that Roman swore he almost dropped the little guy because he wouldn't stop kicking or trying to pry the giant hand off of him. Before the horrible inevitable happened he dropped Virgil onto the counter causing him to stumble back and fall. He felt horrible and this was not the plan he wanted at all. "What the hell!"
"Well if you wouldn't struggle so much this wouldn't happen." he was just a bit too egotistic to admit he was in the wrong or even say sorry. "All that I was trying to tell you is that we have cookies to make."
"What do you mean that wouldn't have happened? I told you not to touch me in---wait. Cookies?"
"Yeah. It's a tradition to make them during the holiday season. Just because you're here it doesn't change anything ."
"Well, how am I suppose to help smart-aleck." Virgil crossed his arms not even glancing at the red and white dressed giant.
"Well, you could read the recipe or help me with ingredients. Doesn't matter to me. I just know you're not sleeping the day away"
"Fine if I'm going to be forced and held prisoner. I'll help with the cookies." Virgil said, a bit of irritation seeping into his voice, instead of anxiety. He watched as Roman took out ingredients such as sugar, eggs, milk, flour, then laid a giant piece of paper that took up half of the counter. He could tell it was old and used multiple times with the thousands of crinkles and creases all over it, luckily the recipe was written in red so it was legible. Watching the giant very apprehensively he made sure Roman didn't reach out for him again. He walked over and stood on the piece of paper reading it to himself.
"Are you going to-?"
"Oh right. The first ingredient is 2 eggs mixed with a cup of flour."
It took the two several hours to get this perfect. There were a few mess-ups that neither expected like making the batter too salty, another time the batter got spilled because Virgil was leaning against the bowl not expecting it to move from his weight, and another ended up all over the kitchen because Roman accidentally flicked some batter onto the borrower as he was using the mixer. Virgil growled a bit trying to scoop it off of his now messed-up sweatshirt. He noticed Roman trying to hide a laugh, so he approached his arm and smeared the batter there. Roman got upset and used a finger to placed some batter onto Virgil's head. The two went back and forth smearing the cooking ingredients onto each other trying to get the last laugh. Roman took it easy half the time to allow it to seem fair and exaggerated his reactions so he didn't feel so insignificant.
After placing the fourth batch of cookies into the oven Roman realized there were probably more ingredients all over Virgil than there were in the bowl and oven combined. He felt bad since only his fingers and parts of his arms and shirt were covered. On him, it looked like someone just flicked the materials at him. Virgil seemed to have the bowl dumped on him.
"Here. I can help you back to your place so you can change. I feel a bit bad about this." he was trying his hardest not to laugh or smile.
Virgil looked at the hand still skeptical, even Roman knew after earlier it would take a miracle for him to agree to this much trust. "Alright. Just...walk slow and not so much of a grip!" he barked out a bit.
"Alright Emo."
"It's not...Oh, forget it." Virgil climbed onto the surprised Romans' hand.
As slow as he could Roman crossed the room allowing Virgil to close his eyes and held his own body. He could tell he was trying his hardest not to shake, but it wasn't successful. The thing was, Roman understood. He was a naturally nervous boy.
The princely man placed his hand down slowly onto the ground so Virgil could climb off on his own. The rest of the night Virgil didn't see one sign of Roman. The annoying human didn't even come to check to see if he was clean. What Virgil did find was a cookie placed in front of the couch on a plate with a note.
Hoped this helped. Happy holidays come out to say hi when you can. I don't mind your company.
Virgil couldn't help but smile a bit and break off a few crumbs to bite into.

like rats fleeing a sinking ship, pt. 4
Whumptober Alt. 10
Prompt: Nightmares
TW: Mentions of bruises, the interrogation scene, and Shiho’s suicide attempt though the latter two are only mentioned briefly
<-Previous Next->
AO3
Ann pulls herself up into a large tree in Shiho’s backyard, and knocks on Shiho’s window.
She’s done this thousands of times before, but this time she’s shaking as Shiho opens the latch and Ann spills into her room.
“Shiho, I-” Ann starts, but she can’t make out the words.
“Ann? Ann what’s wrong, do you need help?” Shiho asks.
Ann stares at her for a second, a thousand thoughts flying through her mind, before settling on “...you don’t know?”
“Shiho? Is something wrong?” Shiho’s mother calls from downstairs.
“D-don’t let them know I’m here!” Ann whispers quickly.
“Just knocked over some books mom, it’s fine!” Shiho responds.
“Alright, just be careful!”
“I will!”
Ann relaxes a bit, slumping against Shiho’s side.
“I’m sorry, I’m-”
“Ann, take a deep breath for me, alright?” Shiho says, guiding Ann to her bed.
Ann sinks into the bed, and tries to organize her thoughts. The truth is, it all doesn’t even feel real yet. They’re wanted criminals. Not the Phantom Thieves, but them themselves. Ann Takamkai, Ryuji Sakamoto… all of them had their names and faces plastered everywhere.
Ann swallows. “Shiho, do you know about the Phantom Thieves?”
Shiho blinks. “Uh, yeah, of course.”
“I’m one of them. And now the police are after us.”
Shiho stares at Ann. “Oh.” Ann tenses up again, and Shiho quickly turns to her. “Sorry, I’m just surprised— or maybe I’m not. You being a Phantom Thief actually makes a lot of sense, but you can stay here, obviously.”
“Really?”
“Of course! I’m not leaving you to get caught by the police!” Shiho says. “My parents don’t barge into my room or anything, and I’m still being homeschooled while I recover so it’s not like I’ll be leaving you home in the house or anything.”
“Shiho…” Ann wraps her arms around her best friend. “Thank you.”
“Not a problem.”
Shiho grabs an old sleeping bag, a relic that’s survived many of their past sleepovers, and rolls it out for Ann while Ann borrows some of Shiho’s pajamas.
“As long as you’re here, wanna help me with my English homework?” Shiho asks.
“Yeah, sure.”
They go over the homework until Shiho insists Ann go to sleep, so Ann steals a pillow off of Shiho’s bed and curls up in the sleeping bag.
Ann closes her eyes and tries to sleep, but can’t stop thinking about, well, everything.
Makoto had said to avoid using phones before cutting off, so Ann doesn’t know what anyone is doing. None of them were prepared for this, none of them had even considered it an option.
Maybe that was on them though, maybe they should’ve thought about the possibility, but who could blame them? They had just gotten the upper hand after being manipulated for months by Shido and his stupid conspiracy. Now it turns out he had a trump card none of them suspected.
Ann’s thoughts run around for what feels like hours, until even with her eyes closed Ann can tell that Shiho turns off the lights and climbs into the bed.
“Hey, Ann. Trouble sleeping?”
Ann opens her eyes and stares at the dark outline of Shiho. “Yeah, sorry was I bothering you?”
“No. Not at all. Wanna talk about something?”
“...sure. I could use a distraction, honestly.”
Shiho sits up and looks down at Ann. “So… did the Phantom Thieves really kill Okumura?”
“No!” Ann says, sitting up as well. “We didn’t! We were just trying to help and we got framed by Shido.”
Shiho places a hand on her shoulder. “I figured it was something like that. I wasn’t accusing you, I just wanted to know what happened. And I want you to know that even if you had killed him, I’d still help you.”
“Thanks.”
Ann can just barely make out Shiho’s smile in the moonlight. “‘Course. You’d do the same for me.”
“Yeah,” Ann says, laughing a little for the first time all day. “Heck, I’d help you hide the body.”
“Honestly, you’d probably help me commit the crime.
“Totally.”
They settle into silence again, and Ann leans back down on the floor. “What do you think my parents think,” she asks, suddenly.
“Would the news have even reached them?”
“I’m not sure. The rest of the world started to pay attention to the Phantom Thieves after Medjed, but I don’t know how they reacted to the news about Okumura. Wonder if they’re also calling for our heads.”
“Even if they are, I think your parents would help you.”
“You think so?”
“Yeah. You’re their daughter.”
Shiho says it so confidently, Ann can almost believe it. “It’s a nice thought, I guess.”
“Ann, you’re going to be okay. I promise.”
Ann turns over and tries to close her eyes again. “Good night, Shiho.”
Ann is running through Sae’s palace, trying to avoid the shadows at Oracle’s instructions. She slips out one of the back windows. From her perch she can see a bunch of police going after Joker.
She should try to regroup with the others, but can’t help but watch. She winces in sympathy as one of the officers kicks Joker and causes him to fall off the ladder he was climbing.
Except when Joker falls, his mask falls off too, and it isn’t Akira.
It’s Shiho.
Shiho who’s grabbed by the police and dragged away kicking and screaming, and covered with bruises, just like Akira after the interrogation just like Shiho after she jumped…
Ann jolts out of bed. She gets up clumsily and rushes to the bathroom, trying not to throw up. It was a nightmare.  Just a nightmare, but…
It could still happen. The police could find out where Ann is and storm the house and arrest her and Shiho and Shiho’s parents. She’s putting Shiho in danger by being here. This was a stupid move.
There’s a knock on the bathroom door. “Shiho, is something wrong?” Mr. Suzui asks.
Ann tenses up. “Yeah, I’m fine dad,” Ann whispers, hoping he won’t realize the difference. “Just some trouble sleeping."
“Alright. If something’s wrong, just let your mother or I know.”
“I will, dad.”
Ann hears footsteps moving away from the door and relaxes. Then she meets her own gaze in the mirror.
No.
She can’t put Shiho in danger.
~
When Shiho wakes up, she immediately looks over to check on Ann. Her heart drops into her stomach to see her gone.
Shiho scrambles out of bed, taking in the fact that Ann’s clothes are gone, and there’s a note on the desk.
Shiho-
Sorry for leaving without saying goodbye, but I shouldn’t have come here in the first place. You’re my best friend in the whole world and I can’t risk you getting in trouble because of me.
I hope you’re not too mad. I wish things could be different. Maybe one day we’ll see each other again.
Until then
-Ann
Oh no. Oh no, no no no!
Shiho throws a coat and some shoes on over her pajamas and rushes out the front door, past her parents who are trying to stop her.
She can make out Ann’s footprints against the morning December frost, and they’re heading towards the park, so that’s where Shiho goes too.
She doesn’t want to risk calling out Ann’s name in case all the noise so early alerts the neighbors, but her heart is pounding in her chest.
Finally, Shiho finds Ann on the other side of the park, sitting on a swing with her hoodie pulled low over her head so she doesn’t stick out.
“You’re so stupid.” Shiho says, sitting on the swing next to her.
“Shiho? What are you-”
“You think you can just leave me like that?” Shiho asks. She’s angrier than she wants to be, and she can’t help the tears that roll down her cheeks. “What if something happened to you because you decided to run off in the middle of the night?”
“What if you get arrested? What if cops come to your house? You didn’t see the things they did to Akira, I can’t let that happen to you!”
“So I should be ok if something bad happens to you,” Shiho shoots back. “Ann, you’re my best friend. I couldn’t handle it if something happened to you, especially not after knowing you’re a Phantom Thief. You made Kamoshida confess to everything, right?”
“Yeah.”
“And you stopped him from killing himself so he can rot in prison like he deserves. You’ve done so much for me, more than you can even imagine, and then you kept doing it! You kept helping people, people you didn’t even know! You’re the nicest person I know, Ann you’ve got a big heart and you don’t deserve anything that’s happening to you right now. So for once, just this once, will you please let me, help you.” The words spill out and Shiho’s face is flushed as she grips the cold metal of the swings.
“I know the risks of helping you and I want to do it, because you’ve done so much more for me.”
“Shiho…” Ann reaches out and places a hand on Shiho’s shoulder. “You’ve done more for me than you could possibly know. The reason I stood up to Kamoshida, the reason I kept changing hearts afterwards, it’s because of you. You inspired me. If anything, I owe you.”
“Thanks Ann,” Shiho smiles. “Even now you’re the one cheering me up.”
“We’re cheering each other up.”
“Yeah. So c’mon. Let’s head back to the house. It’s kinda cold.”
Ann pulls back at that, and bites her lip.
“I know the risks. Let me handle it.”
“Fine. Yes, let’s go back.”
Shiho takes Ann’s hand, and they walk back to the house. On the way they, run into Shiho’s mother.
“Shiho! Why did you run out like that? And Ann-” Mrs. Suzui’s eyes narrow. “What’s going on.”
“Mom, Ann’s in trouble and she needs our help.”
“She’s a wanted criminal.”
“Mom, you know Ann! You’ve known her for years, you think she’d actually do anything she was accused of?”
Mrs. Suzui looks between the two girls for a minute before sighing. “Fine. Fine, we’ll set something up. I can talk to your father.”
“Thanks mom.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Suzui.”
“Let’s go inside, you girls must be freezing.”
~_~_~
Mr. Suzui brings tea down for everyone as soon as Ann and Shiho finish telling Haru and Morgana their story.
“So now what do we do?” Suzui asks.
“Well, the current plan is to meet at Shido’s Palace a week from today,” Haru says.
“With Ann, that means we have five people,” Morgana points out, “that’s not bad.”
“I’d feel better if we had everyone, though,” Ann says. “No word from the others?”
“We were hoping you’d know where to start with Ryuji. Does he have any family in the city or other friends?” Haru asks.
“I’m not sure who he’d turn to,” Ann says.
“I can go talk to his mom.” Suzui offers. “Or at least check out his apartment.”
“Suzui, we can’t-”
“Call me Shiho, and like I told Ann, I want to help. Ryuji’s a friend of mine too, and out of everyone here, I’m the only one who isn’t a wanted criminal.”
“Hey, what about me?” Morgana asks.
Shiho looks at him. “Well, I’m the only one who isn’t a wanted criminal, and who Ryuji’s mom can understand.”
Ann nods. “If you’re sure about this, Shiho, then yeah. You should do it. If you find him or a clue, you can meet up with Akira and move on from there.”
“It’ll be difficult staying in touch without a phone, but can we agree to meet up at Takemi’s clinic in Yogen-Jaya tomorrow evening? That way we can coordinate everything,” Haru says.
“Sounds like a plan,” Shiho says. “You can count on me, guys. Don’t worry.”
Ann smiles and grabs her hand. “I know we can.”

A plague o’ both your houses! I am sped.
Tumblr media
The weather matches his mood — cold, gray, sad. The rain suddenly came in between third and fourth period, and the hallways are still covered in watery footprints. People linger around after school, waiting for their rides or asking for them. He notices a few boys loaning their girlfriends their sweaters, and he desperately wishes he was one of them. Instead, he takes his textbook out from his locker and heads to the auditorium for rehearsal.
He drops off his belongings in the classroom, which is packed wall to wall. He has to nudge several people out of the way when his “Excuse me’s” aren’t heard. He doesn’t see you anywhere and assumes you’ve escaped to the dressing room, where it is sure to be less crowded. Hyunjin isn't around though, so maybe you’re with him.
He hopes not.
When rehearsal begins, you wait on stage right as usual. Your hair is damp, and you have Hyunjin’s jacket draped around your shoulders to prevent your costume from getting wet. You stand next to Hyunjin and talk about something excitedly. Jisung doesn’t let the soft looks from Hyunjin escape his notice. When you’re finally alone, he goes over to you.
“Didn’t you say you would give his sweater back?” he says, far more accusing than teasing. You jump a bit at his sharp tone, and he apologizes. “Sorry. Didn’t mean it like that.”
“Hey,” you cautiously greet. “Rough day?”
He nods. “The rain ruined my mood. Sunny days are much better.”
“I like the rain. I think it’s nice.” You absentmindedly ran your fingers across the drawstring of the hood, and he knows it’s not the weather that you only like.
“So, the sweater?”
The look of guilt is clear on your face. “I wore it to school, and then it started raining, so I decided to keep it for a little longer.”
Would you do the same if Jisung were the one to let you borrow his? He thinks he already knows the answer, but he pulls off his hoodie and holds out to you anyway.
“You can have mine.”
With no hesitation, you reply, “I couldn’t, but thank you for the offer.”
“Why not?” He wants to hear you say it. He prods you again. “Why not? Is there something wrong with mine? What’s wrong with mine?”
“Nothing!” you indignantly say. You look away and start fiddling with your earring. “I just—”
A red hot rage floods his system, and he thrusts his hoodie forward. “Then give Hyunjin’s sweater back and take mine!” he hisses.
You flinch and take a step back. “I wouldn’t be comfortable borrowing yours. I don’t know you well enough to feel okay with it.” The last part comes out in a whisper.
“No, I get it.” He forcibly tugs it over his head and runs a hand through his mussed up hair. “I get it. I get what you mean,” he repeats more calmly, though it’s more to convince himself than you.
You don’t look like you buy his act, but you slowly nod anyway. “I’m sorry if I offended you.”
“No no,” he shakily laughs. He pastes on a bright smile so wide that he’s afraid his face might crack. “I’m not hurt at all.”
You try to give him a smile back, but it wavers before disappearing altogether. “I gotta talk to Yuna,” you point to the girl playing Nurse. “Bye.”
Jisung goes over to Changbin, who looks like he’s having the time of his life working on math problems. “Hey, Changbin.”
“Hm?” he mumbles, not looking up.
“I’m gonna go to the restroom after the next blackout.”
“Okay.”
Until then, Jisung is stuck. You chat with Yuna, but even he can tell that you’re not into it. Your eyes occasionally wander to the general area where Jisung is. It’s not the shy, sneaking peeks he wishes they are though; they’re more like concerning, “he’s not going to hurt me, right?” glances. He wants to apologize, but what does he apologize for? For scaring you? For being rude? For falling in love with you when you don’t care? All of the above?
He finds himself walking back to you. He robotically taps your shoulder while you’re in the middle of a sentence, and you jump.
“Can we talk?” he says.
You look at Yuna, who retreats a short distance away. You face Jisung and stand directly in front of him. Your voice trembles when you say, “I have to be on stage soon. What did you want to talk about?”
“I’m sorry about earlier,” he blurts out. “I didn’t mean any of that. That wasn’t me back there, and I didn’t mean—”
The lights go out, and Jisung loudly swears as he remembers that he has to help set up. He rushes on stage with Changbin and haphazardly aligns the set pieces. Then he makes his way back to finish his apology. To his misfortune, Hyunjin beat him to you and is asking about his performance in the earlier scene.
“Y/N,” Jisung calls. When you’re looking back at him with a deer-in-the-headlights expression, he continues with, “I’m sorry, and I didn’t mean to hurt you with any of that.”
You tightly reply, “It’s fine,” and end it there. Jisung opens his mouth to protest, but you clearly don’t want to continue the short lived chat.
In a more relaxed tone, you say to Hyunjin, “See you at dinner?” You shrug off his jacket and hand it to him. Jisung doesn’t miss the way his fingers “accidentally” brush against yours. Without waiting for an answer, you stride onto stage, your still damp hair hanging down your back.
Hyunjin has a dopey grin on his face, and he clutches his own sweater like he’s holding the only life preserver on a sinking boat. Jisung wants to smack him until he sees stars, but he heads to the restroom like he told Changbin he would.
There’s someone inside, and Jisung has to wash his hands until they’re scrubbed raw before the person leaves. Once he hears the door swing shut and Jisung’s certain he’s far away, he lets loose a scream worthy of a horror film. It echoes against the tiled floors and walls, and he unleashes a string of curses after. His throat feels like it’s been cut with knives, and he pants as he rests his palms against the edge of the sink.
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.
This is all your fault.
She’s supposed to be mine.
I hope you get run over by a semi truck.
I hope the lights fall from the batons and land on your head.
I hope your heart stops.
I hope you die.
Jisung stays in the restroom for a while longer to pull himself together. He waits until his breathing returns to a more normal rate and until he stops trembling. He wants to shatter the mirror into a million pieces, so he clasps his hands together. In another lifetime, it would have been your hand in his.
But Hwang Hyunjin had to exist in this one.
He heads back to the auditorium, taking careful steps in front of him. He doesn’t want to be around anyone, so he tucks himself into the corner of the stage next to the fly rail. The person manning the fly rail looks surprised at the sudden intrusion, but Jisung ignores it. At least he can’t see the front of the stage where the actors are anymore.
When dinner rolls around, Jisung is unfortunately forced to eat inside the classroom since he has no more money for convenience store food. You and Hyunjin share a table together with two other actors, while Jisung sits with Seungmin, who also brought his own dinner. Seungmin makes small talk, and Jisung gives one word replies. He’s too busy trying to eavesdrop on your conversation and watching you from the corner of his eye. Your back faces him, so he can only see the movement of your head. He bitterly notes that you’re wearing Hyunjin’s jacket now and that you’re laughing at his lame attempts at jokes.
“You’re not hungry yet?” Seungmin asks as he gestures to Jisung’s untouched but fully cooked ramen.
Jisung glances down and picks up his disposable chopsticks. “Oh, I forgot.”
“You okay? Changbin mentioned that you were kind of out of it today.”
“It’s the rain. I hate rain.” He eats a mouthful of noodles and angrily chews on it. “It is awful, and it makes everything wet and gloomy, and it always makes me freaking mad for no reason. Screw. The. Rain.”
Seungmin laughs at what he thinks is Jisung being overdramatic. “Alright, I got it. The rain is evil, and you hate it.”
“Exactly.”
You gasp at something on your phone and excitedly tap on Hyunjin’s arm. A splotch of pink blooms on Hyunjin’s face, and he looks at your screen. He congratulates you for getting an A on your exam and offers to take you out to FroYoZen to celebrate.
“It’s too cold for that, “ you goodnaturedly say. You tilt your head in his direction and look up at him. “Maybe when the weather clears up.”
Jisung grips his wooden utensils and continually shovels ramen into his mouth. Would it be odd if he suddenly snapped his chopsticks in half? How can you betray him twice by getting yogurt with Hyunjin? The first time he can forgive since that was a task for the play, but frozen yogurt is supposed to be his thing with you.
Meanwhile, Hyunjin looks pleased with his situation, and your conversation switches to a debate about frozen yogurt versus ice cream. Jisung almost chokes on his meal when he learns that you and Hyunjin shared your yogurts together last time.
“Jisung? You okay?”
Jisung’s cheeks are stuffed like a squirrel’s, and he’s breathing hard. He’s finally aware of how absurd he looks and the concern on Seungmin’s face. He chews and chews until he’s able to swallow.
“I thought you were choking,” Seungmin sighs in relief. “Thank goodness you’re okay.”
Is he really though?
The rest of rehearsal is hazy, and Jisung can only remember the stabbing in his heart when you and Hyunjin stage kiss. He can’t see it since he’s tucked in his little corner, but he knows the lines leading up to both kisses like the back of his hand. It hurts, and the invisible knife cuts deeper and deeper.
During tech notes, Jisung gets lightly chastised for taking bathroom breaks so often during performances, but everyone overall seems pleased with his efforts. There’s a reminder from the tech director that the preview for the play is tomorrow after school and to wear all black.
“When do we get our shirts?” Felix asks.
Ah, yes. The cast and crew shirt that Jisung paid for because he had no real choice and because he wanted to share one article of clothing with you. If he’s lucky, you and him will wear the shirts on the same day, and it will almost be like a couple’s matching outfit.
“They should be here by tomorrow, but come in all black anyway.”
“Do we get a refund if they don’t come in time?” the freshman jokingly says.
There’s a bit of a laugh from Mr. Gi. Then he deadpans, “No.”
After they repaint and respike the stage floor, the tech crew is dismissed for the night, and Jisung goes to the green room for his belongings. You’re still receiving extra notes from the director, so he mills around outside, waiting for you to come out. He wants to apologize again for his outburst earlier since he knows you didn’t truly accept his previous apology. He needs you to know that he still loves you.
As actors start filing out, Jisung pretends to be immensely interested in the tech crew lists for all the upcoming shows. You come out of the classroom with your books clutched to your chest and Hyunjin on your heels. Jisung mouths a curse.
“Hey, Y/N?” he says.
You stop, and your shoulders are beginning to rise. You can’t even look at him; your eyes are directed at the yellow wall behind him. The deer-in-the-headlights expression is back, and Hyunjin takes notice.
“Sorry, we gotta go,” he cuts in. He wraps a protective arm around you, and while you initially jump at the gesture, you eventually sink into him.
“I wasn’t talking to you,” he snaps. “I just need one minute with Y/N.” To you, he pleads, “Please.”
“I have to go, Jisung. Maybe tomorrow,” you quietly answer.
Hyunjin leads you away, shooting him a warning glare. Jisung glowers back, but Hyunjin’s not looking anymore since he’s whispering something to you. You shake your head, and Jisung can make out the words, “Everything’s fine.” The door to the parking lot shuts with a heavy thud, and Jisung stops wishing death upon Hyunjin to run out to follow you.
It’s raining hard, and he can just make out your silhouettes from the car headlight beams. He pulls his hood over his head and strides toward the two of you. Hyunjin poorly shields you from the rain with his jacket while you duck under the trees to avoid getting your books wet. To Jisung’s astonishment, you don’t leave Hyunjin’s side at all. He freezes in his tracks as he sees you getting into the passenger seat of a car he doesn’t recognize. Hyunjin walks around and gets into the driver’s seat.
What. On. Earth.
The car pulls out of the parking lot, and Jisung is left standing in the middle of the drop off zone. A car honks at him, and he loudly swears at them, earning looks from the group of people nearby. He shouts at them to mind their own business before stomping to his car. As he drives home, there’s a clap of thunder, and a flash of lightning follows soon after.

Ice Shards and Hockey Cards - OC x Susie
This is a one shot commission I did for someone who wanted their OC shipped with Susie! Hope you enjoy!))
The loud cheering and the sound of skates against the ice sticks smacking against one another, and the voice of the announcer over the speakers was all that could be heard throughout the arena. It was the third and final quarter and everyone was on the edge of their seats as the clock counted down. The three seemingly most anxious ones were a small group in the midst of the much larger crowd. One had short brown hair, buzzed on one side with brown eyes. He was short, sported in a red and white varsity jacket with '1993' printed on the back. His name was Frank. Beside him, sat a much taller African-American man, wearing a black hoodie and black pants, black hair buzzed and brown eyes slit in concentration as he looked down at the ice, his name was Joey. And the final member of the group, the only female with them at the moment, with shining blue eyes and cotton candy pink hair, was cheering the loudest. She had on a black t-shirt, sporting a pair of black leggings and a black checkered skirt, her name was Susie.
They had been invited by their friend Julie, a hotheaded female with the attitude only certain people could come up to par with, to watch her play in her final match of the season for her college team, the Corvid Crows. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, as the two teams were tied, had been for most of the game. Julie had the puck, one of her teammates seemingly parallel to her as she skated down the length of the ice, waiting for the blonde to make a move. There were three other girls, hot on her heels, trying to maybe trip her up or take the puck, something to run out the time of the game or maybe even get them a shot on net, anything to keep Julie from scoring, as she and another girl, Anastasia Woodland, had made a majority of the shots for their team.
As Julie got closer to the net, she seemed to notice she really didn't have a great angle and didn't want to make the shot and possibly miss. She wanted to make sure it was a sure shot. She noticed Ana in her peripheral vision, keeping her eyes forward as she made a pass, a little bit in front of the other blonde, who immediately picked up on what Julie was trying for. The fact that they were able to pass so effortlessly, with not much communication, was what threw the other team off, and before they knew it, Anna had a basically clear shot on the net, pelting the little black puck forward with all the strength and speed she could manage, and as the puck flew into the back of the net, the buzzer sounded, ending the game with a win for the Corvid Crows. The sound of loud yelling and cheers from their team was basically deafening as they swarmed the two blondes, patting them on the back and giving them fist-bumps, knowing the two weren't big on hugging. And with that...their season was over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the game came to a close, the small group of friends from before was standing by the entrance of the arena, the pink-haired girl, Susie, was anxiously bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for her best friend, and as soon as she saw the blonde come out she ran over, throwing her arms around her in a hug as she congratulated her on the wind. And though Julie was never one for physical contact, she made a constant exception for Susie, who seemed to never care about personal space all that much. But she was just too nice to say no to.
It was only when Susie pulled away from the hug, she noticed the taller blonde girl beside Julie, an awkward smile on her face as she looked at the two of them, the pink-haired girl felt awful for not noticing her at first, too caught up in her own excitement for Julie," I-I'm so sorry! I didn't notice you there! I was uh...a little too excited I guess," she apologized, a small giggle escaping her as she ran a hand through her long hair nervously.
All she got was a small laugh in response to her apology, the girl beside Julie shaking her head and waving her hand dismissively," Oh no, it's fine! I can get the same way sometimes when I'm excited, I'm sure everyone can," she told her. Susie had to admit...the girl talking with her was pretty. She had long blonde hair, tied back with a baby blue bow, along with a matching blue jacket, with Corvid printed on the front of it, a college sweater if she had to guess. She had these pretty blue eyes....and she noticed little white studs in her ears. She....really pulled the color blue off well.
Little did the smaller girl know, the blonde was having similar thoughts about Susie. She didn't know her name.....but she looked adorable. Her pink hair complimented her pretty blue eyes well....her pale skin complimenting the black and dark red she was wearing. But...she couldn't fathom why she wasn't wearing a jacket of some sort. She must have been freezing," Hey...it's cold in here. Where's your jacket?" she asked, head tilting to the side in confusion.
It was then Susie realized how cold she really was, the excitement and adrenaline having distracted her, and she just let out a nervous laugh," I uh....may have forgotten it in the car when we came. It's okay though, I'm sure I can just borrow one, maybe joey will give me his," she told her, but she was cut off from turning to ask Joey for his hoodie when the blue cloth was thrown over her head, looking over at the blonde as she took the garment off of her face. And...she realized that the blonde girl had taken off her college jumper, and had given it to Susie to wear, her cheeks flushing red at the realization, "O-Oh! Uhm...th-thank you! But you really didn't have to uh..." she trailed off, realizing she didn't even know this girl's name.
The blonde seemed to pick up on this, grinning at Susie as she replied with her name, "Anastasia, Anastasia Woodland, but everyone just calls me Anna," she said with a small shrug as she watched Susie pull the jumper over her head. It looked cute on her...since it was big compared to her small body, and the jumper matched her blue eyes.
It was then that Frank interrupted their conversation, slinging an arm over Susie's shoulder, "Hey Susie, we were gonna go out for drinks to celebrate if you wanna come! Julie said Ana was gonna come song," he told her, motioning over to the said female, who seemed to have no say in the matter. But it's not like Ana would have said no if they had asked her to go. She was always down for a celebration party, especially if it meant free alcohol from others, and if it meant she could get to know Susie a bit more.
Susie was apparently the one that had driven them there, not entirely trusting Frank or Joey to not drink at the game. Guess that's what happened when you made the legal drinking age in Canada nineteen. And the little group had all agreed Ana could sit in the passenger's seat, not wanting her to have to sit in between Frank and Joey, who were going to be sitting in the back with Julie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the end, while in the car, the five of them had decided that instead of just going for drinks, they would get food as well. Everyone was hungry, especially the two that had just finished their game. It was around nine at night by now, and they had decided to just grab some beer or something from a liquor store and grab some fast food. No one was in the mood to go sit inside of some sort of restaurant.
So, they had first gone and grabbed a couple of cases of beer, Susie deciding not to drink since she had to drive. And after they had gotten their drinks, she had driven them to McDonald's, cheap and lots of food for a somewhat small price. Instead of just sitting in the car to eat and drink, she made her way towards a little trail, that would lead them up to an old ski lodge that Susie and her friends used to hang out in their teenage years. They hadn't been back in a while...but she figured it would be a fun and nostalgic experience.
The lodge had been fixed up a little...well, correction. The four of them had decided to try and fix it up before they all had to go off to college and had ditched the project when they were almost done with it, all always being way too busy, and it's not like anyone else besides them hung out there as far as they knew.
And when they arrived at the fixed up lodge, the three in the back immediately hopped out, taking the food and the drinks inside as they trudged through the snow. There was no electricity, but they had lanterns and a fireplace for heat and light, which was enough for the small group. Living in Canada would make you somewhat used to the cold.
Susie followed after them, Ana by her side, Susie thinking the blonde was only staying beside her and talking to her since Julie was busy talking with the guys. "I'm gonna drive everyone home when you all are done drinking. Wanna give me your address so I can write it down before you get too drunk to remember?" Susie asked with a small giggle, running a manicured hand through her hair once more. It was something she did when she was nervous, much better than when she used to bite her nails out of nervousness.
Ana seemed a little surprised when Susie asked her the question, but responded with a nod and asked for a pen and paper to write it down. But surprisingly, Susie had reached a hand into her skirt pocket, pulling out a pen and holding out her free hand for Ana to write it down. It was kind of cheesy, but Susie didn't have any paper on hand at the moment. This was a reason the skirt was her favorite, it had pockets. Which was something you didn't really get all too often when it came to girl's clothing.
The blonde blushed and took Susie's hand in hers as she held the pen up to her palm, willing the color to leave her face as she quickly wrote her address, handing the pen back to the smaller girl when she was finished. She was about to say something when the others told them to 'Hurry the fuck up before we eat your food', and it made the two girls rush into the house to try and get to their food before the others could.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the end of the night, it seemed as though Joey, Frank, and Julie had all passed out on the couch. Julie was curled up on one side of the couch, while Joey and Frank were on the other side of the couch. Susie and Anna were still up....and they had no idea what time it was at the moment. But based on how dark it was, Susie could only guess that it was somewhere towards the middle of the night. She and Anna had been up for hours, talking and giggling about god knows what by this point.
Both of them had been having the time of their lives talking with one another, and Susie had let it slip one of the reasons besides Julie being her friend, she went to the hockey game because she was a huge hockey fan and that she even collected hockey cards. And that seemed to capture Ana's attention and had told Susie she just HAD to show her. And considering she wasn't even driving anyone home tonight, since they had all fallen asleep, she decided there was no harm in it.
She had recently moved into her dorm apartment at her college, her binders full of hockey cards were still in her car. So, she went out to get them quickly, Ana waiting patiently for her to get back. If Ana had known this was how the night would end up, she would have brought her own hockey cards to maybe see if they could trade some of them.
When Susie got back, she led Ana over to the coffee table in the middle of the floor, grabbing a pillow and seating herself on it so she wasn't sitting fully on the cold, hard ground. Ana followed suit, grabbing another pillow and setting herself down beside the pink-haired girl, leaning close to her side to look down at the book full of hockey cards on the table.
And well...after a few minutes, Susie felt herself begin to grow tired, letting a yawn slip from her as her head rested in her hand. She was still wearing Ana's sweater, and honestly, the soft fabric and the warmth it gave her made her sleepy, rubbing at her eyes with her fist as she looked over at the couch. There wasn't any room to go lay down..as the other three were taking up the length of it.
Ana seemed to notice this and seemed to hesitate for a second before grabbing the pink-haired girl by the waist, pulling her to sit in her lap. It may seem a bit weird, but she didn't seem to care in her slightly drunken haze, and Susie in her sleep-induced mind, didn't find anything wrong with it, leaning back into the taller woman's chest, "Thank you...." was all she said as she slowly drifted off to sleep, curled in the lap of Ana as the blonde rested her chin on Susie's shoulder.
"Goodnight Susie..." she muttered softly, squeezing the girl a little bit tighter as she shut her own eyes, leaning back against the foot of the couch. The fireplace provided enough warmth, combined with the smaller girl in her lap, Ana was out like a light within minutes.
She really hoped hanging out with Susie...falling asleep like this, wouldn't just be a one time thing.
Hello Ghost (An Afternoon Andreil AU)
After college, the Minyard-Hemmicks sell up in South Carolina and Andrew is signed by the Baltimore Bombers.
He buys a house on the outskirts of Leakin Park, it's pretty grand but he has a vision of inviting his family to stay, one day, perhaps.
The house is also more than a bit run down (which is why Andrew figures it was a good price).
He starts to fix the place up. New paint. New floors. New windows.
But then weird stuff starts happening.
Food he was sure was in the fridge disappears. Stationary and paints will vanish from almost under his nose. Tools go missing only to reappear somewhere else. And clothes too (he is sure he brought his favourite black hoodie with him from SC, and Aaron swears he hasn't got it...).
He starts to hear noises - not loud, just like shuffling, sliding, sometimes like a door is creaking open.
Andrew has nearly done the ground floor when he thinks he's found the answer - navy paint paw prints - all across his freshly stripped and varnished wood floor.
He won't lie, they're kind of cute. The creature must have knocked over the feature-wall paint.
But then, one day after practice, he comes home and takes off his headphones and he's sure he can hear humming. Whatever animal the pawprints came from, he's sure most of them won't know Bohemian Rhapsody.
He creeps up the stairs, it's pretty tatty up here still. The only room he's really bothered is his own. There are rooms he's barely opened since he arrived - particularly the one that looks like it once belonged to a kid (the yellow clown wallpaper *has* to come down soon).
The humming is coming from the main bathroom.
His hand hovers over the handle.
He presses down.
The door swings open.
 He swears he sees a flash of red. Blue eyes in the mirror.
But when he pushes inside, nothing and no one is there.
"The actual fuck??" he mutters.
The actual fuck is right.
Over the next few weeks Andrew becomes increasingly paranoid. Summer has bled into autumn and he is pretty sure he's being haunted.
There is a ghost in this house. There is a ghost in these walls.
He talks to Aaron who just shrugs and tells him to call an exterminator if he has rats in the walls. Andrew is sure there aren't rats in the walls. That's not what he's hearing. Rats don't have nice tenor voices that hum Queen and Blue Oyster Cult through the piping.
He talks to Nicky, who freaks out because omg Andrew you have to get out before the ghosts turn violent Andrew, you don't know what kind of ghost it is Andrew, what if you piss it off by accident Andrew. Maybe you can get an exorcist Andrew. Or salt? Isn't salt bad for ghosts?
He calls Kevin, who frowns down the line.
"Are you okay, Minyard? Not getting rattled now you're in the pros?"
No, Andrew is not rattled. He's doing fucking great for the Bombers.
"Then get some sleep and... maybe call Bee?"
Great so Kevin thinks he's mad.
He calls the estate agent last. Though really he should have called them first.
"There's something wrong with this house," he says. "Tell me what's wrong with this house."
"Oh dear." The estate agent is very anxious. "I'm so sorry, Mr Minyard. I thought everyone knew."
Turns out everyone except him did know. Andrew's grand house that he got for basically pennies was once the home of the Butcher of Baltimore. Andrew missed the memo though, too busy getting his brother clean and surviving the mood-meddling, court-prescribed drugs at the time.
"I'm so very sorry," says the estate agent. "I'm afraid there's nothing we can do now, but I do know a good geomancer who could feng shui the property for you."
 Andrew slams down the phone.
 So he has a ghost in his house.
 Probably a murder ghost too.
 Fuck.
He decides that if he's going to get rid of his ghost, he's going to have to figure out what exactly the ghost is taking, when and why. He starts keeping track in a little notebook. He quickly notices something even weirder than the missing stuff though.
The ghost takes food - not a huge amount - but enough each week. It's mostly fruit and vege, the occasional protein bar. If Andrew makes smoothies from fruit, the ghost will take some. And sometimes the ghost will make smoothies itself and leave half for Andrew.
The ghost launders any of the clothes it borrows. Not everything is returned. But socks will miraculously reappear. So will tshirts and sometimes jumpers. The black hoodie has not made a reappearance. But his woollen winter jumper does, with the elbow holes freshly darned.
The ghost showers. Andrew has noticed more than once that the bathroom mirror is misted and the towels damp when they shouldn't be.
The ghost leaves red hair behind, long curls of it.
The ghost is probably not a ghost. Or if they are, they're a very very corporeal one.
He decides maybe - just maybe - he could lure the ghost out.
After a shower one day, he writes on the misted mirror:  HELLO GHOST.
The next day, the ghost leaves a reply: HI HUMAN.
 Andrew frowns and scrubs the note away.
He goes out to buy clothes for the ghost - no need for them to nick his favourite stuff if they have their own right?
He leaves the bag in the bathroom and writes: THE BAG IS FOR YOU.
The next day he sees: THANK U.
The day after: CAN I HV A TOOTHBRUSH?
Andrew buys one, even though the ghost writes like a fuckboi.
When he comes home from a long weekend of away matches, the toothbrush is used and wet. There's a Smiley on the mirror in the the mist. Andrew scowls. And he realises the ghost is near - because there's a shuffle, a sigh & for a second he's sure the shadows behind him move.
Andrew and the Ghost fall into a rhythm.
Sometimes when the ghost needs something there will be a note on the bathroom mirror. Sometimes when the ghost is thankful, they'll leave homecooked left overs in the fridge for Andrew, presumably made when he's at practice.
Aaron asks him one day if he solved his rat problem.
"It's a ghost problem,” Andrew tells him. “But yes, something like that."
For Christmas, Andrew goes to visit Nicky and Erik in Germany.
It's three weeks away and he's so anxious about the flights, he forgets about his little ghost in the walls.
He packs in a hurry. He turns off the lights. Turns down the heating. Locks the doors.
The holiday itself is good. Nicky is thriving now he's back with his boyfriend and Andrew almost feels bad that he kept Nicky from being this happy for so many years. Almost. Because he wouldn't trade those years with Nicky and Aaron for anything.
He goes home, content.
As soon as he opens the front door, he knows something is wrong.
It's freezing cold. So cold his breath is vapours on the air.
There's a smell too, stale and fetid. Like old fruit.
And that's when he sees him, the ghost.
The ghost is a boy, but he certainly looks half dead.
He's sprawled on Andrew's new sofa. He's all bones. Emaciated to a point where he looks childish. His skin is sickly pale. His hair is dank and plastered to his forehead. His eyes are closed.
Andrew drops his bag and the ghost's eyes flutter open, just a slither before closing again.
The ghost is sick. Incredibly sick.
Andrew calls Aaron.
"My ghost is sick," is the first thing he says. "He has a fever. I don't know what's wrong with him."
Aaron doesn't pretend to understand, he just lists off ways to bring down a fever. "I can be there in the morning," he tells Andrew. "Just --"
-- Aaron stops short. He can't tell Andrew to keep a ghost alive can he?
Andrew does what he can. He lifts his ghost up into his arms, wrinkling his nose at the sweaty, sick smell rolling off him. He's far too light and far too small.
Andrew tucks him into his own bed.
He finds a can of fizzy lemonade and brings it upstairs to the ghost. He's barely stirred but as Andrew cracks open the can, the ghost lets out the tiniest of whimpers and it breaks Andrew's heart.
Carefully, he nudges the ghost awake and helps him to drink some of the lemonade.
"Bring up his sugar levels. Make sure he has plenty of fluids. Anything cold to bring down his temperature."
It takes nearly an hour for the ghost to drink the lemonade.
Andrew doesn't sleep that night. Doesn't stop applying cold flannels. Checks his temperature every 30 minutes.
"You better not become a real ghost, Ghost," he warns the boy in his bed. "I want my fucking hoodie back."
Aaron arrives and it’s a good thing he's just finished his rotation in the ER because Andrew's ghost is a young man with one of the worst cases of pnuemonia he's seen in a while. He calls up a professor and explains why he needs a prescription for a variety of medications.
He's able to get them within the morning and they set Andrew's room up to be a hospital bed minus the bleepity-bloopety machines.
Andrew finally sleeps when Aaron forces him to - but only for a couple hours before he's back at the ghost's side.
Two days go by.
Ghost wakes up.
For all that he looks like he hasn't eaten a full meal in his life, his eyes are the most striking Andrew has ever seen in his life. They are coldest blue, like a winter's sky.
"Hello Ghost," Andrew says.
"Hi Human," replies the ghost.
Ghost recovers slowly. He sleeps a lot. Andrew cooks for him. Makes him eat soups and broths and slowly reintroduces solids.
Turns out when Andrew left, he'd locked Ghost inside with only enough food in the cupboards for a week.
Ghost managed to make it last 12 days.
But with the heating off, Ghost had shivered his way into sickness.
Andrew asks him how the hell he's been haunting his house when he's clearly not a ghost. Ghost frowns.
"The walls," he says. "He built the walls too thick so they could hide escape routes."
 "The Butcher?"
Ghost nods. He's so pale. Andrew presses because he knows there's a secret here and Ghost finally admits: "He was my father."
The pieces fall into place as Ghost recovers. His name is actually Nathaniel but every time Andrew uses it, Ghost flinches.
Andrew moves Ghost out of the walls where he used to hide and into the house.
"Why didn't you leave after your father died?" Andrew asks one day over hot chocolate and coffee.
They're curled up on the sofa, their feet overlapping but nothing else.
"Because he didn't die," Ghost says. "He was killed."
And out comes the story of how Ghost lived in the house as his father's prisoner. How he was trapped and how he was punished the few times he tried to escape.
 There are scars, Andrew has seen them. They make sense now.
"My mother escaped though. With millions that belonged to my father. A couple years ago my father killed her... my uncle came in retribution. He killed my father. I was there."  Ghost's voice is thick and raw. His eyes won't meet Andrew's. "He said he'd come back for me."
"He never came back," Andrew fills in the next line.
"No."
"But you stayed."
"I've barely been outside before. I never... I had rations stored and I figured, it was safe here at least, now he was gone."
"And then I arrived."
"Yeah. And it was kinda nice. Being your ghost."
Andrew chest feels warm and full. "You're still my ghost," he says after a minute.
And it's true. This boy from the walls is going to haunt Andrew forever - and he doesn't even mind.
Andrew learnt to live in increments, one breath at a time, one minute, one hour, one day. He'll teach Ghost to do the same, over years.
They'll find a human name for Ghost. They'll settle on "Neil", a name untainted by the father who hurt him or the mother who left him.
They'll cook together in the evenings, brushing against each other in whispers.
They'll fall asleep together on sofas and then, later, in their shared bed.
They'll move house together one day, when Andrew transfers to another team.
One day Andrew is lying in bed next to Neil, tracing patterns over freckled skin and taut muscles.
"I meant to ask, what was with the pawprints that time? With the paint on the floor?"
And Neil looks puzzled, then smiles. "Maybe it really was a ghost."
I’ll Be Your Midnights.
Yang Jeongin X Reader
REQUEST BY ANON
Summary:  As the new year kicks over, you couldn't imagine spending your last few moments of 2019 with any other person.
Genre: Fluff!!
_________________
Sighing to yourself, you throw your apron onto the bench, the clock blinking an electric blue 7.02pm at you.
Another short staffing for the day had left you completely overworked, and underpaid, making it the 4th day in a row you had to pull a 10 hour day.
Another sigh slips through your lips as you left up the mop bucket, attempting to pour it down the sink, however, the bucket slips from the side, causing the dirty water to pour down your uniform.
You groan, nudging the bucket under the sink with your foot, whist your hands ring out the fabric of your shirt.
What a way to end 2019.
Locking the shop up for the new year, you trudge towards your car, texting the group chat that you’re finally on your way.
You had requested for the day off with some new years plans, but your boss had just shrugged them off and called you in any way.   It was meant to be a day full of food, movies and board games, but had turned into a jam-packed day of yelling customers and a coffee-stained shirt.
The wind makes your treck to the dorms a lot more difficult, your knuckles wrapping on the door in a quick knock before your fingers pull the jacket around you tighter.
“Y/N, come inside! It’s freezing out here!”
You smile up at the maknae, slipping past to quickly take off your jacket, shoes and bag in the entryway, the heat of the dorms melting your frozen joints.
“Y/N!” The eldest boy immediately throws his arms around you, warm hands splayed over your back.
“Chan,” You laugh, “There’s no need for a hug.”
He pulls back, eyes now on your clothes.   “You’re soaked! Didn’t you bring a change of clothes?”
“Ah,” you sigh, the little itch in your brain finally going. “That's what I forgot this morning. The bag is on my kitchen bench. I got called in early this morning.”
“You can just borrow some of our clothes for the night,” Jisung tells you, the youngest nodding in agreement. “It’s not a problem.”
“No, no.” your waving hand stops Chan as he moves. “This will dry out eventually, and besides, I’m not working tomorrow, so I can just wash this when I get home.”
Chan shakes his head, hand around your wrist to tug you down the hallway with him.
“Absolutely not. Come on."
Giving the laughing members a pained look, you're pulled completely against your will into one of the bedrooms, further shoved into the bathroom, a unknowns balled t-shirt and sweatpants thrust into your hands in the process.
So you change - rather reluctantly - hanging up your sopping clothes on the rack to dry as you shuffle your way back into the lounge room to join the bundle of bodies amongst the blankets.
Slipping in-between Felix and Jeongin on the couch, you can feel your muscles finally unknotting.
Oh, what a long day it has been.
Jeongin unfolds his blanket, throwing half over you with a small smile, half concentrated on the movie playing on the TV.
You thank him silently with a smile, snuggling into the fluff, fingers reaching for your phone.
9.15pm.
Only 3 hours and 45 minutes left till midnight.   Ever since you were little, you had always stayed up to midnight with your family, counting down the hours, the minutes, the seconds.
It was a tradition, that had spread to your friends as you got older.
But this year, for the first time in your entire life, you honestly weren’t sure you were going to make it to midnight.
Another movie is switched on the instance this one ends, your mind barely engaged with the screen, eyes blankly staring at the TV.
“Y/N,”
Your blank stare moves towards Jeongin and Jisung, who are staring at you enthusiastically.
“What’s your new year's resolution?”
You laugh bittersweetly at Jisung.   “To find a new job.”
The boy frowns.   “You’re still hating it?"
Nodding, you look from Jisung to Jeongin, sighing tiredly.
“Management keeps calling me in, and I end up staying back to close into the night alone. I know that I should just keep the extra staff there, but as their supervisor, I don’t want to keep them behind that long,” you sigh again, looking towards the TV.   “I hate my shitty job.”
You’re certainly not expecting them to say anything, but yourself surprised when Jeongin puts his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into a tight hug.
And you stay in his embrace for the rest of the night.
You feel fuzzy, sleepy.   It's like his embrace has put your mind to bed completely.
You don’t even realise your eyes are closed until you feel a sharp poke in your cheek.
Shrugging it off, you give a small groan, body shifting to rest your head on something.
It comes again. Then again. Then again.
Ripping open your eyes, you’re met with the grey fabric of a hoodie.   Eyes adjusting to the light of the room, you pull back from the shoulder of the boy, finally meeting the smiling eyes of the maknae.
“Oh, sorry,” you whisper, pulling away from the boy completely.
He presses a finger to his lips, gesturing to the room.
The majority of the boys have fallen asleep by the looks of things, a headphone-d Minho and Changbin exceptions - their fingers tapping along to a beat of a song, although their eyes are closed.
“Come with me.”
You let Jeongin pill you up, hand in his as he guides you across the mass of bodies in the living area, lead to the small balcony outside.
“Woah.” you gape as the door slides closed behind you.
The skyline is lit up in dotted lights, the dark sky melting into the lights of the city in the most spectacular fashion.
“The fireworks are always amazing from up here,” Jeongin tells you, eyes looking at the scene over the railing. “Every year we always come out here and celebrate.”
“It’s beautiful.” you marvel, leaning on the railing now, eyes wide as your hands cross over your arms to shield them from the wind.
A soft fabric drops onto your shoulders, making you turn to look at the boy.
“You looked cold,” he tells you, securing a button so the jacket covers your arms.
You smile lightly as a thank you, turning back to view the city lights, hoping that the boy couldn’t see the blush on your cheeks.
“I’m really happy to be here with you guys,” you say, letting out a chilly breath.
“And I’m happy you’re here.”
His response surprises you, something he’d been doing all night. It made your heart swell most sincerely.   As your eyes grazed over him, you noted new things you hadn’t noticed before - the way he smiled, the way his eyes curved, that his cheeks went slightly pink in the cold.
“There's not long left till midnight,” he tells you, eyes splayed on the horizon. “You should stare at the city, not at me.”
“I can’t help it,” you slip, eyes wide as soon as the words leave your mouth. “Holy shit I am so sorry. I did not mean to say that."
He only smiles at this, fingers slipping over the railing as he turns to look at you.
“You know, there's a certain tradition on new years.”
You’re good at masking your shock to his words, rather raising your eyebrow instead.   “And what’s that exactly?”
“Oh, you know.” Jeongin muses, the smile on his features growing larger. “You know what. I’ll just show you. It normally happens in the last 3 seconds of the year.”
The shouts have started, loud and clear as everyone starts the countdown from ten.
“Ten. Nine. Eight.”
“I guess I won’t have to wait long then.” You say, looking out at the lights, the yells of the city below almost projected in the cities brightness.
“Seven. Six. Five. Four.”
Jeongin grabs your hand, making you turn to him, the boy getting closer by the millisecond.
“Three. Two. One. Happy new year!”
And just like that, your lips are pressed against the boys, the kiss as sweet as the view.
You hear the fireworks overhead, their bright colours illuminating behind your eyelids.
“Guys! It’s midnight!”
Chan rips open the screen door, causing you and Jeongin to jump apart, eyes wide as they zero in on a cocky Chan standing at the door.
Loud cheers erupt from inside, the remaining 6 boys spilling out onto the balcony to see the bright fireworks.
You turn towards them too, putting one hand on the railing.
The boy moves a little closer, his hand taking yours into its embrace, warm against the wind.
You can see him, eyes beaming, smile wide as he watches the fireworks, their colours illuminating him in an ethereal light.
He points to the sky, nudging you with his shoulder.
“Watch the fireworks, not me.”
You open your mouth to reply, but the boy cuts you off.
“You have all of 2020 to look at me. But these fireworks will only last 15 minutes.”
With a nervous smile, you turn your eyes back to the lit sky, watching with wide eyes as the thrilling fireworks pulse through the sky.
“2020 off to a fleeting start hey?”
Chan’s voice comes from behind you both, his arms thrown over both of your shoulders.
You both watch him, wide eyes, estranging nervous glances.
“Don’t worry you two, I won’t tell. But I totally knew this would happen.”
Without A Parachute (6/15) - Feels Like This
Summary:  Emma worked tremendously hard to give herself a better chance. From group homes, to living in her car, to ivy league student, this English Major’s only solace was escaping her reality through books. One night, Emma comes home to find a small package with only her name on it written in beautiful calligraphy. The package contains a thick, brown leather journal. Emma soon learns that the fiction she writes in the journal eventually becomes reality. Will Emma learn to control this gift, or will she fall too fast into the temptation to change too much? With the help of her good friends August, Robin, and Elsa, and the mysterious, intriguing bartender of The Jolly Roger, Emma discovers just how easy it is to lose control, and how difficult it is to pick up the pieces.
Note: I'm SO sorry this took longer than I had anticipated to write. To make up for the delay it's a slightly longer chapter with a lot of fluff and some smut mixed if (so if that's not your thing feel free to scroll through that part). I hope you enjoy! Thank you so much for reading, for your comments, and for your support. Stay safe out there everyone! I’d definitely read this one on ao3 for formatting since I might miss some italics here
When it feels like this, like a light came on
And you look at me like I’m all you want
I got everything at my fingertips
How can I resist when it feels like this?
-Maisie Peters, Feels Like This
“You had one fucking job! She told you exactly what to do, wrote it all out for you, you incompetent monkey.” A dark figure shrieked at the man in the hoodie, Emma’s necklace digging into the palm of a tightly clenched fist.
“She’ll do what you need her to. It was enough,” the man responded.
“That’s up to Him to determine,” the figure said. “You have no idea what He’s capable of.”
“I can handle myself you bitch. I played my part. You and I both know that you’re no more of a pawn in His game than I am.”
“You’re just a pathetic excuse for a man who had nothing better to do. Apparently you’re not even capable of a quick fuck. You’re an expendable sidekick. He created you thousands of years ago to run His errands, to do His dirty work. I can give Him what he wants and He can help me get my revenge and even now after all this time you’re still useless.”
“I. Played. My. Part. You’d be nowhere without me.” The man closed the distance between him and the dark figure. “You’re just mad you can’t bring her down by yourself. You need Him. You need us and that kills you.”
“At least I have a reason, you’re just evil,” the figure snarled at him.
“And that is exactly why you like me.” The man stepped closer to the figure, closing the distance between them, his tone resembling something close to seduction although the animal-like hiss still remained.
“He won’t be happy,” the figure responded, ignoring the man’s advances.
“It was enough. Just wait. The darkness in her is bound to consume her. It’s only a matter of time.”
“She’ll pay for what she did.”
Two weeks later, midterms were finally over which meant spring break had finally started. Emma and Killian had been texting regularly, usually late at night and in the morning when Emma wasn’t drowning under books or in class. She barely slept. Whenever she finally calmed herself down from exam stress enough to close her eyes every night, the nightmares she had shook her to her core and kept her from sleeping. So she was looking forward to a break.
It was Friday. Most students had already left for hometowns or vacation destinations to escape the cold, including Elsa, August and Robin. Campus and Collegetown were nearly empty. Killian had suggested they go out to dinner to celebrate the end of her exam period and kick off her spring break. The thing was, Emma had no idea what this dinner was.
Was it a night out between friends?
Was it a date?
Were they grabbing a slice of pizza around the corner?
Were they going somewhere nice?
Were they walking?
Were they driving?
Was she driving?
Was he driving?
Did he expect something after?
Emma nervously stared at the two dresses she owned hanging in her sorry excuse for a closet. Elsa, unfortunately, left for break the night before and since Emma wasn’t sure what this dinner was she didn’t ask her friend if she could borrow a dress. So she opted for the flowy pink dress Mary Marget helped her buy for her high school graduation and pulled her hair up into a ponytail to keep her from looking too overdressed. After her last night out, she opted for shorter heels that she had a better chance at balancing and walking in even though they would inevitably cause her pain.
Still having about half an hour before Killian was supposed to pick her up, she fiddled her hands nervously as she paced her small room. Compared to his beautiful apartment in a building he owned, Emma’s ratty, run-down, strictly-a-place-to-sleep college apartment was an utter embarrassment. It was the cheapest thing she could find and the only thing she could afford and the last thing she wanted Killian to see.
Quickly, Emma shoved a change of clothes, socks, sneakers, pajamas, and her toiletries into her backpack (a little presumptuous but honestly a night away from an apartment that she had been having endless nightmares in that was empty except for her was something she welcomed, and maybe even hoped for). She threw her bag over her shoulder and left her apartment, walking toward the Jolly Roger.
She got there with 15 minutes to spare. It was mostly empty so she took her usual spot at the bar, setting her bag on the chair next to her.
“What can I get for you?” The bartender asked.
“Uhm just a Coke, thanks,” Emma responded.  “It’s Will Scarlet right? I think we met briefly before.”
“Yeah! It’s . . .” Will paused, clearly not remembering her name.
“Emma,” she smiled.
“Right! Emma. The Captain’s friend,” he noted, as if he was trying to commit it to memory. Will handed her the soda she asked for. She paid and sipped it slowly, hoping the bubbled would help settle her nervous stomach. They engaged in small talk for a bit, Will telling her some funny stories about patrons he observed. He was actually quite funny and the jokes were a welcomed distraction.
“Swan?” Killian had just come down from his apartment. He had traded his usually rock-star black for a more romantic blue for the evening. He donned dark navy dress pants and a matching vest over a pale blue dress shirt, black dress shoes, a black black belt and a black leather jacket. In one hand he held his keys and his phone; in the other he held a single red rose. “I was just about to leave to pick you up.”
She stood from her spot at the bar. “Oh right, sorry. I was ready early and my apartment was getting too quiet so I figured I’d just meet you here.”
“You look beautiful, love.” He sweetly kissed her cheek and handed her the rose.
Emma blushed, her cheeks turning a soft pink as she took the flower. “Thank you.” Date. Definitely a date.
Killian turned to Will. “You good here, mate?”
“Yup, have fun!”
Killian picked up Emma’s bag from the chair it was on and slung it over his shoulder, as if the fact that she had an overnight bag hadn’t phased him at all. If it did, he certainly didn’t show it. In fact, it hadn’t phased him at all. They had spent nearly every night talking to each other until one of them fell asleep. He missed her. She hadn’t been to the pub to study for her exams as she wasn’t sure she was capable of handling the rush of memories that might flood her mind upon returning here for the first time since the incident while also having to deal with midterms. He missed her voice, her laugh, the way she kissed him, the way she smiled at him. He missed the easy rise and fall of her chest as she slept against him. Killian was far too deep into this for his own good but the effect she had on him was unstoppable. All at once she lit his world on fire and kept him grounded.
“Shall we?” He asked. Leading her out of the pub, he rested one hand on the small of her back and walked her to his car.
Emma was barely able to form words, lost in her own thoughts. Exams were over. He was taking her on a date . He brought her a rose . She felt so free that it was like she was breathing fresh air for the first time. Emma could count on one hand the number of dates she had been on (meaning the one she was currently on). No one in high school was interested in dating the foster child or the girl who lived in her tiny car. People barely gave her the time of day, let alone got dressed up for her or bought her a rose. It wasn’t until Killian had started the car that she was able to find her voice again.
“You look nice, Killian.” She smiled at him, still holding the rose close to her, cherishing the sweet gift.
“Some might even say devilishly handsome ,” he smirked.
“Hah.” Emma snorted and rolled her eyes. “Remind me not to feed your ego ever again.” Killian laughed. It was the sweetest sound Emma had ever heard. “So where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise, love.” They sat the rest of the short ride in comfortable silence. Emma’s heart was fluttering in a mess of excitement and nervousness. Eventually he pulled the car up to BoatYard Grill, a beautiful restaurant right on the water. It was a perfect balance of classy and casual, and even though it was too dark to be able to look out and really see the water, there was something magical, something romantic, about the feeling of the lakeside air.
Parking the car and slipping out of the driver’s seat, Killian jogged around to Emma’s side to open the door for her. “Milady,” he said, offering her a hand that she happily took with her free hand (one still held the rose that she refused to let go of).
She giggled as she got out of the car, Killian closing the door behind her. “Why thank you, Captain .”
Killian kept her hand in his as he led her to the restaurant, telling the hostess that he has a reservation under Jones. He made a reservation for her . There were little things that Emma had never experienced growing up in the foster system. Dinner reservations was one of them. And Killian took the time and made the effort to plan an evening. For her. For them. Oh Swan you’re really in it with this one.
They were seated at a quiet table for two in the back of the restaurant. Killian ordered a glass of wine. Emma stuck with water. Even though she had a pretty solid fake, she hadn’t been too keen on drinking ever since -
“How was your last exam today?” Killian asked.
“Oh fine. Intro to Psych is pretty easy. It feels so nice to have a break for a bit.”
“Are you heading home for break?” He asked, curiously. As much as they spoke, Emma never talked about home.
“Uhm.” Emma hesitated, unsure of whether to tell him the truth. The last thing she wanted was for Killian to look at her differently. But he was someone who had seen her at her worst and held her through the night when she was desperate to not be alone. “No. I, uhm, don’t really have a home. I grew up being shuffled around foster homes in Minnesota until I was 16 and lived in my car for two years so I could finish high school in one school just to have a shot at an Ivy League.”
“Emma I’m so sorry.” Killian reached across the table, resting a hand on hers. She didn’t see the typical pity in his eyes that she had seen in others who knew her story. She saw sympathy. Still, Emma wanted to change the subject and remembered the University of Oxford shirt he had given her to sleep in once.
“So you went to Oxford?”
“Aye, for a year. Then I spent two years mostly traveling and sailing before my grandfather stopped funding my escapades and told me to get my act together. So I came here and decided to open the pub.”
“Why’d you leave?”
Killian welcomed the interruption when their waiter came to take their orders. This wasn’t a story he was itching to share, let alone share on a first date. Once the waiter left, an older woman popped by the table after the waiter left.
“Killian, my boy!”
Killian stood to hug the woman, “Angela, it’s good to see you.”
“How’s your grandmother doing? Where in the world is she now? It’s impossible to contact her these days!”
“Belize? I think? At least that’s where the last postcard was from.” Killian shrugged. “How are you?”
“Oh just fine. Business is good, Jim is good, although he sure does miss having your grandfather around.”
“They were always up to something.” Killian said, fond memories of his grandfather and Angela’s husband betting nickels and dimes in poker every week at the lake house in the summer and, once he opened the pub, taking up their designated seats at the bar nearly every day.
“And who’s this pretty lady?” Angela turned her attention to Emma.
“Angela this is Emma, my -”
“Girlfriend?!” Friend! He was going to say friend! Fuck! What if Emma bolts? Emma and Killian both blushed furiously. “You know Jim and I were just saying that it’s been so long since you’ve been with someone.”
Killian cleared his throat, scratching behind his ear, clearly flustered. Emma, who was still slightly able to form a semi-cohesive thought interjected. “It’s nice to meet you Mrs . . .?”
“Oh sweetie just call me Angela. He’s a special one you know?” She jabbed Killian in the chest playfully.
Emma smiled up at Killian. “Yeah. I know.” Killian grinned back at her.
Angela noticed their attention was clearly on eachother. “Well I’ll leave you two to enjoy your evening. Just holler if you need anything!” With that they were alone again and Killian reclaimed his seat across from Emma who was giggling.
“She seems lovely.” Emma noted.
“Aye, she is. Sorry about the whole -”
There were two ways this conversation could go. Emma could play it safe or she could take a risk.
“Oh it’s fine. Although my real boyfriend would probably be quite upset to hear that I kinda liked the sound of it.”
Killian raised an eyebrow at her and leaned in closer to her. “Well, Swan, you could tell your other boyfriend that when I win your heart, and I will win your heart, it will be because you want me more than you’ve ever wanted someone before.” His voice had dropped to a place reserved for only the most erotic utterings. He smirked at her and reached across the table to squeeze her hand. Emma swallowed hard. Killian’s words sent a shiver up her spine and her heart into a frenzy. They sat in silence for a moment, eyes locked on each other as if time had stood still while Emma sat there, needing a minute to process his words, his voice, his eyes.
“So your grandmother is in Belize?” Emma asked, eventually.
Killian chuckled, settling back into his seat. “Aye. She’s an archeologist. She spends most of her time in Central and South America, especially since my grandfather passed.”
“And your parents?”
“My mother, Alice, left when I was 5. She drove us to school to drop us off one day and then never came back. My father,” Killian sighed, taking a sip of his wine, “my father was a complicated man. I don’t blame Mum for leaving the way she did. He owned a pawn shop in Dublin that his grandfather had opened but I think he secretly hated it. He was drunk more often than not. He died when I was 19.”
Emma gave him a look, a look that, all at once, said I get it , and I’m sorry , and neither of us ever have to be alone again . She reached out and tenderly touched his hand, brushing her fingertips over his knuckles. Emma wondered if his death was why Killian never finished at Oxford, but something about the way he spoke about his father made her think there was more to that story that he seemed relieved to avoid. Their moment was interrupted by the waiter bringing them their food.
The conversation flowed easily over dinner. Killian told her he was intending to major in fine arts, he told stories about him and his brother, Liam, and the antics they got into during summers at the lake house, and about sailing with his grandfather. Emma told him about the book she was reading, a beautiful fiction novel about a pandemic and those who survived and those who didn’t and how a traveling group of musicians and actors kept the arts alive with concerts and Shakespeare plays called Station Eleven , which led her to telling him about her love of Shakespeare.
“So do you have any spring break plans at all, Swan?”
“Oh yeah. I’ve got a few dates with McDreamy lined up and a growing pile of library books stacking up on my floor. What about you? I imagine business will be pretty slow this week.”
Killian finished his glass of wine. “Aye, it’s always pretty slow during breaks. I was planning on leaving Will in charge for the week and escaping to the lake house.”
“That sounds like a nice break.” Emma noted.
An idea popped into Killian’s head. “I wouldn’t mind your company if you’re looking for a change of scenery.”
“Really?” Emma asked, sounding a little more hopeful and excited than she had planned.
Killian chuckled. “Aye. I think you’ve had a rough few weeks and have earned a bit of a break. Plus I quite miss having you in my bed.”
“Hm. A tempting offer. But will there be grilled cheese?”
“Aye, love. Whatever you want.”
“And ice cream?”
“Swan, we can go to the store once we’re done here and I will get you anything your heart desires.”
Now it was her turn to make him blush. “Anything?” She gave him a very insinuating look from across the table.
Killian leaned forward again, enjoying this game of flirting. “ Anything your heart desires.”
***
Quickly, Killian paid the bill and they made their way over to the supermarket. Emma, to his dismay, tossed in every unhealthy thing she could find, including a box of brownie mix that she insisted they bake to have with the vanilla ice cream that would inevitably be tossed in the cart. All he could do was laugh and watch her. She was like a kid in a candy store who never once let go of the rose he gave her.
Killian had seen Emma at her lowest point, watched her go to war with herself over what happened to her, watched her suffer for weeks while attempting to study for exams he knew were causing her stress. He knew she wasn’t sleeping because she’d send him random texts at all hours of the night. He figured it helped her feel less alone so when he woke up every morning, he replied to every single one, no matter how silly or ridiculous or sometimes incohesive it was.
This Emma, happy, free, with a light that radiated from every inch of her and filled even the darkest parts of him, was the Emma he wanted always to remember, the Emma he wanted to spend his days trying to bring out.
While she debated which PopTarts she wanted, Killian slipped away to run to the pharmacy section. Not that he expected anything, but he picked up a package of condoms. A gentleman is always prepared , he told himself. Oh who are you kidding, you want this way more than you should .
Killian returned to find Emma stuck deciding between two flavors of PopTarts and shoved the box into the cart before she could see them. The last thing he wanted was to think he invited her just so he could have sex with her. Really, Killian would be fine with spending the entire week watching Netflix with her in his arms. And apparently baking brownies to have with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and who knows what else.
“Just get them both before you give yourself a headache,” he joked. Emma tossed both boxes in. This woman is going to cost you a fortune . She gave him a bright smile and kissed him. In the middle of the aisle. Not caring for a second who saw them.
“Thank you. For everything, Killian,” she said when she finally pulled back, leaving Killian breathless.
And she was worth every damn penny.
***
Killian pulled into a long driveway leading to a beautiful home right on the lake. It had to be at least 2 acres of property from what Emma could tell in the dark. The house was pretty far from any neighbors and the trees lining the edge of the property on either side hid any evidence that other people even existed. It was perfect and exactly what Emma needed. They grabbed a bag of groceries each and headed inside. The first thing Emma did was ask Killian to put her rose in some water for her.
From the entrance you could see all the way to the back of the house which was essentially just a wall of windows. In the living room there was a large overstuffed couch in front of a fireplace and a large TV fit for the best kinds of movie nights snuggled in front of the fire. As tempting as it was to jump on the couch they still had bags to bring in. Emma might have gone a little overboard on the snacks.
“Do you think we have enough chips?” Killian joked, putting the third bag bag of chips in the panty while Emma unpacked bags on the island. He suddenly realized that he completely forgot what bag -
“Think we have enough condoms?” Emma joked back. She found the box he so slyly tried to hide from her while unpacking a bag containing a ridiculous amount of candy for the movie nights they planned on having.
Killian froze, blushing so furiously even the tips of his ears were red. Emma broke out in hysterical laughter. This was quite literally the last thing she had ever expected would embarrass Killian, the king of flirting, the master of inappropriate comments, the professional smoothtalker, the dreamy bartender who had girls fawning over him constantly, with a voice that could, quite literally, get any girl to drop their pants for him.
“I’m glad you find this so funny.” He looked at anything except her, scratching behind his ear.
“This is just so not you, Jones,” she said, pulling herself together. “Well actually this -” she waved the box “is you. Trying to slyly slip them in without me noticing is definitely you. The blushing though!”
Killian snatched the box from her. “A gentleman is always prepared, Swan.”
Emma stepped towards him, slinking her arms around his waist. “Very smooth, Jones.”
He tossed the box onto the island and wrapped his arms around her. “I didn’t want to -”
“I know.”
“We don’t have to do anything.”
Emma’s hands slid up Killian’s chest to rest on his shoulders. “What if I want to?”
“Then I’d be quite happy to oblige your desires, Swan,” he purred.
“When did you even get these?”
“During the great PopTart debate of 2020.”
Emma chuckled. “Right.”  Her hands ran along the collar of his shirt, her eyes avoiding his. “There’s something you should know.”
“About PopTarts?” Killian asked, confused.
“No, you idiot.” Emma took a breath, her hands again resting on his shoulders as she tried to calm the nerves causing her heart to beat faster, trying to find the words to tell the obviously experienced man standing in front of her that she was a virgin, that she, quite literally, had no idea what she was doing. But god , she wanted him. All Emma could think about was the way he kissed, the way his hands felt on her hips when they danced. “No one’s ever taken me on a date before. So if this is going where I’m hoping it’s going you’ll be my first.”
Killian’s heart broke for her. How could someone so beautiful, intelligent, strong, funny, kind, and lovely never have experienced what it feels like to be loved, to be cherished, to be adored? All he wanted to do was show her that.
He kissed her softly. “Come with me.” Killian whispered against her lips before pulling away. He took her hand, making sure to grab the box that started this, and led her up the stairs to the master bedroom he had taken over when his grandmother gave him the run of the house.
With each step, anticipation bubbled in Emma’s stomach. It was a spacious room, with doors leading to a balcony that overlooked the lake, a king-sized bed, and a door that led to the master bathroom. As much as she had touched herself reading illicit stories on the internet or watching porn sites or, recently, thinking about Killian, nothing could have prepared her for the look in Killian’s eyes as he closed the door behind them, tossed the box onto the nightstand.
His hands traveled down her arms before he kissed her deeply. Emma’s fingers worked at the buttons of his vest, eventually sliding it off his shoulders. Killian’s lips traveled down her neck, his stubble softly tickling her. She sighed when his lips found her pulsepoint, tiling her head back as her hands found the hair at the nape of his neck.
Killian slowly unzipped her dress, kissing her shoulder as it dropped to the floor, leaving Emma standing before him in nothing but her heels, white lace bra and matching panties. “Emma,” he whispered, taking her in. His hands roamed her back while his lips returned passionately to hers.
Emma’s entire body was buzzing, lit on fire from Killian’s kisses. Quickly, she undid the buttons on his dress shirt as he walked her backwards towards the bed. She smiled against his lips when her head hit the pillow. Her fingers danced their way down his spine. Killian trailed kisses down her body, kneeling before her on the bed as he took her shoes off. Emma moaned. “Fuck that feels goos. Those were killing my feet.”
Killian chuckled, settling back between her legs. “You can tell me to stop at any time, Emma.”
“Can you please stop wearing pants?” She teased, toying with the waistband of his dress pants.
He kissed her before standing to remove his shoes, socks, belt and pants. Emma missed the heat of his body on top of her. In the time it took him to strip down to his boxers, Emma had gotten into her own head.
What if I’m not good enough?
What if I do something wrong?
What if it hurts?
What if I’m not exciting enough for him?
What if I’m too loud?
What if I’m not loud enough?
What if he doesn’t enjoy it?
Emma was so stuck in her own thoughts that she hadn’t noticed Killian was again on top of her, bra now off and on the floor until he pulled her out of her thoughts. “Emma?” His face was inches from her breast. He could tell she was wrapped in her own thoughts.
“Huh?” She realized she had completely zoned out into her own thoughts.
“Are you nervous?” Killian asked her, laying on his side next to her, his arousal pressing against her thigh.”
Emma turned her head to look at him. “Yes,” she whispered. His fingers danced over the soft skin of her stomach.
“Do you want to stop?”
“No.” Her hand touched his cheek, reassuring him that she wanted this, that she wanted him .
He turned to kiss her palm. “Don’t overthink it. Just focus on me. Focus on my voice. Let yourself go for me, love.” Killian’s voice dropped. “Let me make you feel good.”
Emma’s heart was racing. She nodded, taking a deep breath. His hand gently cupped her breast, massaging gently.
“You’re so beautiful, Emma,” Killian said, nearly moaning at how soft her skin felt in his hand. He lowered his lips to take her nipple into his mouth, swirling his tongue around it. Emma’s hands tangled themselves in his hair.
“God I’ve dreamed about this.” Emma admitted, moaning softly. Killian grazed his fingers over the waistband of her panties, smirking against her skin.
“Swan, you have no idea.” Most of Killian’s nights ended with thoughts of Emma and all the wonderful things he wanted to do to her, do with her. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since the day you came into the Jolly with a fucking textbook.” His hand slipped below the waistband, his fingers sliding teasingly over her wet folds. Emma gasped. “You’re already so wet for me, love.”
“Just for you,” Emma moaned, arching her back as Killian’s finger brushed across her clit. Slowly he teased light circles over her, quickening his pace whenever she moaned for him. “Killian. . .”
The way she moaned his name nearly drove Killian into a frenzy. “Tell me what you want, Emma,” he purred against her ear.
“You . . . inside,” Emma breathed.
“We’ll get there, my love.” Killian chuckled, capturing her lips with his, their tongues crashing together in a messy, delicious dance. He slipped a finger inside her, eliciting a groan from Emma. He ground his hips against her thigh, needing to relieve some of the pressure building in his cock. Emma’s hand snaked between them. Cautiously, she stroked him over the soft material of his boxers. Killian groaned against her mouth. “Fuck, Emma.”
He wanted to tell her not to worry about him, that this was about her, but the nights he spent thinking about how she would touch him made this first moment too much for him to form a comprehensive sentence. Killian gasped at the feeling of her hand slipping beneath his waistband and wrapping around him. In response he slipped a second finger into her, pumping in and out a little faster.
Emma’s head was spinning with the intoxicating sensations racing through her body. She stroked her hand over Killina’s full length until she could take it any longer. “Fuck, Killian-” she moaned. “So close.”
“Come for me, Emma,” he growled, thumb finding her clit to help her over the edge. Emma fell apart, her orgasm coming in waves over her as she cried out Killian’s name into the darkness of the room, pleasure possessing every inch of her body.
When she finally opened her eyes again, she saw Killian watching her and blushed furiously. “Hi.” She gave him a shy smile.
He smiled back at her. “Hi.”
Emma kissed him, softly at first and more passionately as she started to come back to herself. “I want you.”
“Emma . . .” Killian hesitated, wanting to make sure this was really what she wanted. And god did he hope it was what she wanted.
“Please.”
He reached for the box on the nightstand, rolling onto his back next to her. Emma watched as he opened the box to pull out a foil packet. His hair was a mess, sticking out in different directions and falling onto his forehead, and somehow he looked sexier than when he had every strand in place to match the very put together look of his vest and dress pants. His breathing was slightly labored with anticipation. He had a tattoo of an anchor on the top of his arm by his shoulder.
Killian lifted his hips to push his boxers off and Emma’s breath caught in her throat. Killian noticed Emma’s staring and raised an eyebrow, smirking at her. “See something you like, Swan?”
Emma’s face turned bright red. “Maybe.”
Killian kissed her quickly before returning his attention to the foil package. He carefully tore it open and rolled the condom down his length while Emma pulled her panties off, tossing them to the floor. Killian settled between her legs, resting on his forearms to keep his weight from crushing her beneath him. Her arms wrapped around him holding him close to her.
In that moment, the rush of passion, the unbearable heat between them slowly dissipated into a loving tenderness, a gentle caress of warmth surrounding them.
“Go slow,” Emma whispered, a soft encouragement for Killian not to stop.
“Aye, my love.” His hand reached between them, guiding himself into her slowly. Emma hissed slightly, her nails digging into Killian’s back. Immediately he stilled. “Emma?”
“Don’t stop.”
So he didn’t. He pushed in slowly until he was fully sheathed, whispered profanities falling from his lips. Killian dropped his head, placing a sensual kiss to Emma’s shoulder. “How are you?”
Weird. Full. Stretched. Those were the first words that came to Emma’s mind. She needed a second to gather her thoughts. Killian had the self control of a saint at that moment. He gave her the time, the silence, she needed, playing with the ends of the long, blond hair (really to distract himself from the desire to pull his hips back and push back into her because fuck she felt incredible).
When she adjusted to his length: Good. So good. More.
“Killian,” Emma whispered against his shoulder, “you feel so good.”
“Fuck, Emma.” Killian groaned, pulling his hips back slowly before pushing back into her. Emma let her eyes close. Her hands knotted in his hair, keeping him close to her. “You feel incredible.”
She moaned softly in response and Killian picked up his pace, pushing into her a little faster, a little harder. “Yes. Killian.”
Killian muttered profanities that could make any sailor blush, his self control slipping from his grasp. He kept a steady pace, not too slow, not too fast, hitting her in just the right spot over and over. Nothing compared to the feeling of Killian inside her, the way his hips rolled effortlessly against hers, the way his lips moved against her shoulder and her neck as he whispered dirty nothings to her, edging her on.
“Emma, god I can’t-” Killian moaned against her. “I’m gonna -”
She used his words against him. “Come for me, Killian.”
And with that he came undone above her, coming with a cry of her name and nearly collapsing on top of her as his orgasm shook his entire body. Emma’s hips rolled against his, working him through it, working him down. Her hands softly stroked his hair, now slightly damp with sweat.
He slowly pulled out, kissing her forehead softly, allowing his lips to linger there for a moment. “I’ll be right back.”
Emma whimpered at the loss of his weight on her, comforting like a weighted blanket. It wasn’t long before he came back from the master bathroom, condom discarded and a warm, damp washcloth in hand that he used to gently clean between her legs. Emma signed softly at the pleasant contact. He tossed the cloth into the laundry bin and settled back into bed next to Emma who turned on her side to face him, cuddling close.
“How are you?” Killian asked.
“Wonderful.” Emma admitted, relaxing against him. Her thoughts began to intrude on the moment. “Did you. . . Did you like it?”
Killian nearly scoffed. “I should be asking you that!”
“I asked first.” Emma teased. This was easy. This was them. Silly bantering. Caring words.
He chuckled, playing with her hair, nuzzling his nose against hers. “How could I not like it? It was with you.” Emma blushed.  “Now you have to answer.”
Emma shrugged. “Eh. It was fine,” she toyed.
Killian’s jaw dropped. “You little minx.” Emma broke into a fit of giggles and he playfully swatted at her ass. “You take that back!”
She kissed him, playfully, smiling against his lips. “Yes. It was -” She paused.
“What?”
“Nothing, it’s silly.”
“Tell me.”
“It was almost as good as my dreams,” she admitted, partially teasing him, mostly being sincere.
He grinned. “Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one dreaming of this.”
They took turns showering. Emma was exhausted and, honestly, not quite up for round two just yet so Killian gave her some space. When she was done, she changed into her pajamas and pulled out her glasses and Station Eleven to read while waiting for Killian to return to bed.
“Glasses suit you, love.” Killian commented when he emerged from his shower in nothing but a towel.
Emma smirked, half hearing him while she was engrossed in her book. “A towel suits you.”
Killian chuckled, pulling out pajamas from the dresser. “You haven’t looked up for a second.”
“Shhhhhh. Two characters just disappeared. I need to know what happens.”
He pulled on his pajamas before collapsing on the bed next to her. Killian watched her for a moment, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration behind her glasses. She was beautiful. Always. She was beautiful when she was dressed for work, when she was dressed for a night out with her friends, when she was lost in concentration, when she was frustrated, when her hair was damp and she was getting ready for bed, when she was dolled up for a date, when she was nervous, when she was confident, when she was teasing him, when she was vulnerable with him, when she was exhausted, when she was dancing in the middle of the aisle in the supermarket.
“I’m glad you’re here.” Her said softly, almost to himself as he traces patterns absentmindedly on her thigh over her pajama bottoms.
Emma looked down from her book at him lying next to her. She closed the book, marking her space with a torn piece of paper she was using as a make-shift bookmark, before turning the light off and settling down next to him, her nose inches from his. “I’m glad you invited me. I really did need a break.”
“Aye, I know love,” he said before kissing her softly.
“Thank you, by the way. Dinner was lovely.”
“It was my pleasure, Swan.”
Emma rolled onto her other side, her back pressed against Killian’s chest. She held his arm close against her as their legs tangled together in a way that was nearly impossible to tell where one of them ended and the other began.   “Goodnight, Killian,” she whispered softly, her eyes fluttering close as exhaustion began to take over her.
Killian breathed in the comforting scent of her lavender shampoo. “Goodnight, my love.”
That was the first time Emma had slept through the night since the incident. Warm and safe in Killian’s arms, she never wanted to leave.
