#delete later#on like half of the stories i've written on ao3 or more#i don't even get 10% of the viewers leaving kudos on my work and that's just kinda tiring man#we've come so far from the fanfiction.net days where writers solely thrived on comments and private messages to KNOW if their work is well#received by the online people#now you can just press a BUTTON to know that you enjoyed a story and it only takes like half a second!#there are so many people online who are constantly BEGGING everyone to PLEASE comment or review or let them know somehow that you've enjoyed#their work because we get so little feedback often and it is demotivating af#but if you're not gonna comment AT least leave a kudos rather than staying silent and consuming the stories like it's nothing#one thing i loved in the beginning of the ml fandom was how interactive everyone was with fanfics and how it had such a positive status#people were happily reblogging and leaving kudos and commenting LOADS back then#now???? it's literally SILENCE#back when my writing was worse prepandemic i easily got hundreds of kudos in a few days#but now i'm struggling to reach even 200 kudos in three months on my newer oneshots#engagement rate is soooooo bad now and it's demotivating af#i think this is why i prefer to write and send drabbles on discord because people there do respond and react to my works and it gives me the#push to keep going

im due on and not in the mood for much of anything but of course there are stepladders that must be painted
#my mum doesnt half pull chores out her arse sometimes like what. no ofc that's a thing that needs doing#like okay tbh i LOVE the way my mum decorates it's something i rave about to all my friends bc im genuinely very proud of her and our house#bc basically my mum has an interior design degree and generally has an Eye for decorating like she's just Good at it#but she never ever ever spends loads of money if ANY when she can help it#put me in any room in our house and i can point at all the furniture and tell you some dumb story about it#'my mum's cousin sold that sofa to her for a fiver' 'she literally pulled that dining set from someone's skip' etc#like everything is always aquired for free or bc of some niche 'i know a guy' connection or she paid pennies for it#and then either me my mum or my sister will sand it down and paint it ourselves and it always looks amazing when it's done#like ive said to my mum before she could probs start a business with it bc she does it to such a professional standard#so it's given me and my sister not only a real respect for DIY and second hand and generally not spending extortionate amounts#but it's also given us handy skills like painting and sanding and glossing etc etc#and ive always loved that about my mum like she doesnt NEED to be doing this anymore like she has the money now to buy things new#but she just doesnt she genuinely prefers doing stuff like this and having furniture that has a story behind it etc and i love that#but my GOD is it annoying when we're doing it like i HATE painting it's sooooo dull#and when im due on and cant be arsed to do ANYTHING let alone chores this is just. nail in coffin#AITA my thrifty aesthetic is making my daughter contemplate offences against the person via stepladder#hella goes home

I wish people would stop fucking force starting missions it fucks the game up so bad
#when someone force starts a mission it clears the current loading and makes me load again which is slower than just.#yknow#letting me load and then queuing up the mission????#it also sometimes breaks the game severely#ran an archon hunt on public and when i managed to load into the second mission the daily login screen ui popped up and covered everything#couldnt even move or use abilities#ffs force start is so useless unless youre running with friends#disabling it should be an option already >:(#warframe

finished fallen order :) time to wait for survivor to go on sale
#I've heard survivor has some pretty huge performance issues so no way I'm paying 70 eur for that#fallen order did have some stuttering but I think it was just when it was loading new areas? which wouldn't be an issue except that seemed#to always happen while I was mid-air LOL#me: *trying to catch a rope mid air or something* the game: LET'S FREEZE FOR A SECOND#anyway I did end up liking this game but it also just sort of made me miss the jedi knight games#because although I /did/ enjoy the combat I also still think jedi outcast (and academy but personally i just favor outcast) handles#lightsaber combat the best out of any SW game I've ever played#the combat in fallen order really was perfectly fine#what the jedi knight games have over fallen order imo is that the lightsaber combat in those games feels so uniquely lightsaber-y#whereas in fallen order it feels more generic WHICH AGAIN is fine!#I wish there were more bosses LOL#not the little ones / the ones that randomly show up when you return to certain areas#but bosses as in ninth sister / trilla / malicos (who was not in the game nearly as much as I thought he would be)#because learning their patterns and movements and how to counter play them was imo the most fun part of the game#i was INCREDIBLY frustrated when I first went up against the ninth sister because I hadn't gotten used to the combat yet and I don't have#experience with a similar system from another game so it took me like 7 tries or so before it clicked in my head and I could finally#beat her but I didn't have any problems after that#ANYWAY...#EA when are you gonna give us a (new) bounty hunter game

I really miss Dragon Age 2.
#I’m not sure I can say it was the best one? technically speaking Origins probably is? but it was the one that I liked the story of most. it#hit me deepest. that messed me up but I also loved it. and it was much better designed for cause and effect#dragon age 2#inquisition is frustrating because half the time - especially w War Room - you pick as well as you can based on all the info you /have/ at#your disposal and it goes ‘hehe you picked Lelianna’s ‘let’s be cautious and scout first’ ^u^ over Josephine’s ‘let’s ask the nobles if they#can help intel gather’ and Cullen’s ‘let’s send our soldiers to look around’. 300 people died ^u^’#so if you want good results you either re-load or use a guide bc there’s little sense to it & you’re constantly punished not for really your#own choices but just arbitrarily. I used a guide like 3 times the entirety of DA2. I use them constantly for DAI becuase every time I go ‘im#just gonna play normally : )’ ten minutes later I tell some girl the wardens seem cool & she immediately gets brutally murdered#also they constantly have NPcs there to tell you something and die seconds later and it’s so annoying??? in every other DA game you can heal#and save NPCs you find injured but now they go ‘tell my wife…I’m sorry…’ and die and you have a quest to tell their wife ‘sorry I didn’t#give her one of the 40 health potions I was carrying’ or some idiocy. I have NOT ONCE been able to save by healing an NPC when in every#other game I had MANY chances. no heal even EXISTS as a spell in DAI when it’s a basic skill in every other game???#also the quests are structured so badly half the time I walk into a house and kill a monster and Varric goes ‘ah the High Beam Killer dead#at last’ and I won’t know what the fuck he’s saying At All but some quest marked Spooky Mansion is marked completed and I gain exp without#ever remotely knowing what the quest was in the first place#in DA2 when I got punished I deserved it. in Act3 the Mages with Grace suspected me of turning them in bc I tricked the Templars instead of#killing Thrask and that made sense. I did pick a slightly less safe outcome to protect him. i absolutely never betrayed them but I did take#a risk that put /them/ at risk and it made sense for her to distrust me. In DAI my friends get killed because I’m Qunari no matter what I do#at the war table before or after and they just give me pointless missions about it so I have the illusion of choice and consequence#DAI is obsessed with Only Bad Outcome quests because the Devs are centrists who think there’s no right answer to fucking anything and it#deeply damages the story structure and the quest load out#(I don’t hate DAI I’m just venting. I enjoy many many parts of it. but some I want to destroy rabidly with a hammer)

#I've been trying to install this software for three days now I'm so pissed#i swear one day I used to be good at installing stuff#It's just that I feel like I got some... Copyright strike detector installed somewhere I can't see that won't let me open it???#It's so weird because I'm sure the files I downloaded are legit and from trusting sources#but every time I finish the installation and open the app#It will load the title for like two seconds and then close the app#Uhm............#And it's so frustrating because I did get it to work in one of my first attempts!#But now it always presents the same issue no matter how many times I repeat the process from the start#even when trying to download the software from several different sites...#Sorry I just needed to ramble. Tomorrow I'm going home so I'll steal some other family member computer and install it on theirs–#and hopefully all is going to go well lmao.
