For some reason, he couldn't feel anger at your escape attempt. Not like he wasn't angry, though. No, he was angry, but not because of that. You lied to him. Said you missed him in that sweet voice, looked up to him with those big, innocent eyes, shivered against him and said you missed him, all just for some bigger plan. He was almost disgusted.

He heard your incoherent, pathetic pleas for mercy. He wasn't hearing you out, though. He grabbed you, tossing you over his shoulders and headed to his bedroom.

He kicked the door shut and threw you down onto the mattress, watching you cry and shiver and open your mouth to scream. Nothing would come out, though. He felt his hands fumble with his belt, with his jean's zipper. He dimmed the lights. Maybe he wouldn't feel as bad if he couldn't see your face. Maybe.

He found himself crawling on top of you, slipping his hands up your shirt. He wanted to be mad, wanted to be able to take out his anger on you, choke you and slap you and bruise you and bite you, mark you as his, fuck you so hard you wouldn't ever think of escaping again, but he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to hurt you, even when you deserved it. At least not that way. He cursed you under his breath as his hands found your breasts, kneading and grabbing and even twisting your nipple between his thumb and index. You cried out, all pathetic, squirming beneath him. His heart softened, just a little.

"Shh, don't cry. Don't cry." He murmured against your ear. He heard your loud swallows, and looking at you, looking into your eyes, he saw your lovely, naïve face twisted into one of pure terror. Maybe even disgust. He felt so bad, but it wasn't his fault. He tried to be so good to you, treat you all soft and sweet, take it real slow, make it romantic, make it easy. But he was just a man. You committed the crime. It wasn't his fault. Not his fault. He heard himself groan a little, even as your hands pitifully shoved against his chest, even as you tearfully begged him to stop. He was just a man.

The bed creaked, and you cried, and his breathing just kept getting heavier and heavier. He tried to ignore the slight tightening of his throat, the just noticeable watering of his eyes. He couldn't hurt you. He couldn't. But he was, he was hurting you in the worst way possible. His heart broke as he watched you flinch, but his dick somehow hardened every time you sobbed, as you somehow tightened with every wince.

He gripped your hips to pull you up against him with each thrust, and at the same time tried to ignore the way you gripped the sheets, knuckles white, face frozen in pain and pleasure and fear. You'd been acting nicer for the past two weeks. Compliant, deferent, soft and malleable. Your voice was always low, sometimes to the point he'd have to ask you to repeat. You didn't say much anymore, not like you did before. There was a heaviness in your movement, like everything you did was a struggle. He'd notice it when you woke up, with the morning light streaming in through the window, his arm wrapped around you, holding you close to him, and you just wouldn't move. He'd wonder about that while he brewed your morning tea, watching you slump against the dining room chairs, staring out the window, staring into stillness. He'd talk to you the whole time, trying so hard to coerce some sort of response other than your one word answers or your quiet hums, but nothing would come out. Your eyes were constantly glazed over, like an unending cloudy day. It wasn't all bad, though. All those jokes about women existing to be looked at, not to be heard? You were just that. He was just a man, you know.

He came home from work a few hours ago, whistling, keys jingling as he spun them on his fingers. Now, you were curled up together on the couch, your back to his chest, engulfed by the darkness of the early winter night like a heavy blanket, your form illuminated only by the blue light of the TV. He had some random local channel on. It didn't matter. Only you mattered.

After that incident, you stopped squirming in his arms, stopped trying to escape his grip or lose his touch. Instead, you just sat there like a pretty doll, just like you were meant to. You let your entire body weight slump against him, let your head rest in the crevice between his neck and shoulders. He pet your hair, brushing his fingers through each strand, gently detangling. He wrapped his arms around your torso to hold you close to him, and he hummed in contentment. "Missed you, baby." He watched your head slowly perk up to look at him, expression all dazed and dumb. So pretty. "What'd you do today?" he murmured quietly, looking into your glassy eyes and brushing away a stray hair.

You had a neutral expression on your face as you thought the question over. It took you a few seconds to respond. "Slept."

The TV, which he vaguely recognized to be playing a news channel, buzzed in the background. He laughed a little at your response. It made him so happy that you even spoke. "Really? Slept all day, but you still look so tired." He teased, almost commenting on the growing bags beneath your eyes but holding himself back. You just nodded in response, laying your head back down on his shoulders.

One hand rubbing soothing circles on your back and the other still playing with your hair, his mind started to drift. Not to anything in particular, though. He wondered what that secretary at work was writing down, what Chris and Wesker were talking about, just little, curious things. He felt your breathing slow, and he suddenly felt so warm inside, knowing that you could fall asleep against him. His breath right against your ear, he murmured, "Night, sweetheart," and looked up at the TV, noticing a missing person's report.

A random boy returned his gaze. The camera panned to shots of a forest, and a news reporter recounted all the details. Name? Jack Reed. Age? Seven years old. Last sighting? Three days ago, heading into the woods for some reason, somewhere. Leon didn't care. What he did care about, though, was that this meant that the world had already moved on. Everyone had stopped looking. Or at least, the public gaze had already shifted. Now, they were looking for someone new. And the week after that, someone else. And with each passing week, the world would forget about you, and that just left more for him. So he just kept on brushing his fingers through your hair, humming quietly to himself. ※ As long as you have completed Archon Quest Prologue: Act III "Song of the Dragon and Freedom," a Teleport Waypoint will be automatically unlocked near Fontaine's Petrichor (If you have already completed this Archon Quest, the Teleport Waypoint will be unlocked after the update). You'll also receive the Primogem reward for this Teleport Waypoint when it unlocks automatically.

There will be new Fishing Points and "Radiant Spincrystals" in Fontaine.

In addition, the new area "Bayda Harbor" will be added to Lokapala Jungle in Sumeru.

II. New Character

5-Star Character "Dire Balemoon" Arlecchino (Pyro)

◇ Vision: Pyro

◇ Weapon: Polearm

◇ "The Knave," Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers. A poised, ruthless diplomat. To the children in the House of the Hearth, she is their feared yet dependable "Father."

◆ Arlecchino can utilize her Bond of Life to enhance her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, dealing Pyro DMG.

◆ Elemental Skill "All Is Ash"

◆ Deals Pyro DMG to multiple nearby opponents and applies Blood-Debt Directives to them. Blood-Debt Directives deal Pyro DMG to opponents at regular intervals. When Arlecchino uses a Charged Attack or her Elemental Burst "Balemoon Rising," she will absorb Blood-Debt Directives, which grants her a certain amount of Bond of Life.

◆ Elemental Burst "Balemoon Rising"

◆ Arlecchino's great wing of Balemoon Bloodfire beats as she absorbs and clears Blood-Debt Directives applied to opponents around her. She deals AoE Pyro DMG before clearing the CD of All Is Ash and healing herself. The healing is based on her Bond of Life value and ATK.

III. New Equipment

1. New Weapon (Examples based on Refinement Rank 1)

Crimson Moon's Semblance (5-Star Polearm)

Grants a Bond of Life equal to 25% of Max HP when a Charged Attack hits an opponent. This effect can be triggered up to once every 14s. In addition, when the equipping character has a Bond of Life, they gain a 12% DMG Bonus; if the value of the Bond of Life is greater than or equal to 30% of Max HP, then gain an additional 24% DMG Bonus.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 5-star weapon Crimson Moon's Semblance (Polearm) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

2. New Artifact Sets

Unfinished Reverie (4-Star and 5-Star)

◇ 2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

◇ 4-Piece Set: After leaving combat for 3s, DMG dealt increased by 50%. In combat, if no Burning opponents are nearby for more than 6s, this DMG Bonus will decrease by 10% per second until it reaches 0%. When a Burning opponent exists, it will increase by 10% instead until it reaches 50%. This effect still triggers if the equipping character is off-field.

Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy (4-Star and 5-Star)

◇ 2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

◇ 4-Piece Set: When the value of a Bond of Life increases or decreases, this character deals 18% increased DMG for 6s. Max 3 stacks.

This attack can interrupt some of The Knave's attacks, including Bloodtide Banquet. Some of The Knave's attacks will consume her own HP, and when these attacks hit a character, they will restore her own HP and apply a Bond of Life to the character; if the character hit already has a Bond of Life, the DMG dealt by the attack will be increased yet more.

Legatus Golem

◇ This ancient Legatus Golem uses its sturdy marble body to defend against attack while using music and searing flames to obliterate its foes.

Use methods suited to dealing with Geo to break through its defenses. Apart from this, it will also set up resonators in combat that will assist its attacks. Destroy these resonators to deplete its shielding effectively.

Located in the Nostoi Region

Praetorian Golem

◇ An ancient golem infused with will that uses its resilient marble body in battle.

Use methods suited to dealing with Geo to effectively defeat its defenses.

"Genius Invokation TCG" Gameplay Update:

Spiral Abyss

Floor 11 Ley Line Disorder changed to:

• All party members receive a 75% Pyro DMG Bonus.

Updated the monster lineup on Floors 11 – 12 of the Spiral Abyss.

Starting from the first time that the Lunar Phase refreshes after updating to Version 4.6, the three Lunar Phases will be as follows:

Phase I:

Flame-Fanning Moon

When a character triggers Vaporize, Overloaded, Melt, Burning, Burgeon, Pyro Swirl, or Pyro Crystallize reactions on an opponent, the opponent's All Elemental RES and Physical RES is reduced by 30% for 4s.

Phase II:

Valorous Moon

When a character receives healing, the character's ATK increases by 50% for 3s.

Phase III:

Tactical Moon

When a character's HP value increases or decreases, that character gains a 16% increased All Elemental and Physical DMG Bonus for 8s. This effect can stack up to 3 times, and the duration of each stack is counted independently.

〓Adjustments & Optimizations〓

● Exploration

On the Tutorials screen, adventure tutorials related to the current area will be displayed nearer to the top.

Optimizes the performance of the Treasure Compass feature: Nearby treasure chests will now be marked on the map after using the Treasure Compass, and opening treasure chests marked out on the map during the Treasure Compass's cooldown time will reset its cooldown.

● Map

Combines the "Domains only" and "Search for Players" options under the "Map Settings" button on the map interface.

Adds the "Custom Markers," "Controller > Cursor Sensitivity," and "Controller > Marker Sensitivity Range" settings under the "Map Settings" button on the map interface.

Optimizes the design of the buttons for switching between different regions on the map interface.

● Quests

Adds another button for important quest items related to certain quests in the Quest Menu.

When you are navigating to a quest objective, an icon for important quest items related to the current quest will now be displayed within the Inventory.

Updates the icon for Requests in the Quest Menu.

● Adventurer Handbook

Adjusts the criteria for unlocking different chapters in "Adventurer Handbook > Experience": Simply reach a certain Adventure Rank to unlock the next chapter. You no longer need to complete the previous chapter.

Adds missions for enhancing Prototype Rancour and Favonius Warbow to Lv. 60 in "Adventurer Handbook > Embattle."

Adds missions related to enhancing Artifacts in "Adventurer Handbook > Embattle."

● Serenitea Pot

Adds the "Quick Obtain" function on the Replica > Preview screen as well as the Furnishing Set screen in Editing Mode: You can use this function to quickly purchase the Furnishings/Furnishing Blueprints that you need from the Realm Depot, or add the Furnishings that need to be created to the "Queued List."

Adds the "Queued List" function on the Create Furnishing > Creation Queue screen. This will record your Furnishing creation requests from using "Quick Obtain" and tell you which materials they require. It can also be used to quickly add Furnishings that are waiting to be made to the Creation Queue.

Adds the "Obtain All" function on the Create Furnishing > Creation Queue screen. You can use this function to obtain all the Furnishings created in one go. After you click it, you can also choose to use Vials of Adeptal Speed to speed up production of all Furnishings that haven't been completed yet with a single click.

Adjusts the upper limit of the Creation Queue in Create Furnishing from 5 to 10.

Adds Filter and Search functions to the Furnishings and Furnishing Blueprints tabs of the Realm Depot.

Optimizes the layout of the Realm Music screen, adding serial numbers and no longer showing a second confirmation pop-up when unlocking tracks.

After Trust Rank reaches Level 10, the purchase limit of all products in Realm Depot > Furnishings (except Vial of Adeptal Speed) will be raised from 6 to 20.

Furnishings and Furnishing Blueprints introduced from Version 1.5 to 2.8 will be permanently sold at a discount in the Realm Depot.

● Genius Invokation TCG

Updates the icon of the Event Card "Falls and Fortune."

Optimizes the text description for the Normal Attack of the Character Card "Neuvillette" (the actual effect remains the same).

● Other

Optimizes the "compiling shaders" loading time when logging in on an Android device for the first time after version update.

Adds support for displaying friend nicknames on the Serenitea Pot > Create Furnishing > Guest Assistance screen, as well as on various screens related to Co-Op Mode.

Adjusts the position of the stone pillars on Floors 11 and 12 of the Spiral Abyss: Now, the stone pillars will be placed outside the barrier.

After the version update, on some PC devices that use integrated graphics cards, the default "Graphics > Graphics Quality" setting will be adjusted to "Lowest" (only the correspondence between the options and the default values is changed, the actual settings remain unchanged).

Due to the addition of new regions and Teleport Waypoints, the number of Teleport Waypoints required to unlock the achievement "Forest Roamer" has been adjusted. The original total number of Teleport Waypoints that needed to be unlocked was 46, and this has now been adjusted to 47 (if the achievement has been completed, the completion status of the achievement remains unchanged).

Increases the Inventory's capacity for the Weapon Enhancement Materials "Mystic Enhancement Ore," "Fine Enhancement Ore," and "Enhancement Ore" from 9,999 to 99,999.

〓Genius Invokation TCG Balance Adjustment〓

Adjusts the effect of the status "Fiery Rebirth" of the Character Card "Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames": "When the character to which this is attached would be defeated: Remove this effect, ensure the character will not be defeated, and heal them to 4 HP. After this effect is triggered, this character deals +1 Pyro DMG."

Adjusts the effect of "Aegis of Abyssal Flame" applied by the Talent Card "Embers Rekindled" of the Character Card "Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames": "Provide 2 Shield points to the character to which this card is attached. After said Shield points are depleted: Deal 1 Piercing DMG to all opposing characters."

Adjusts the casting logic of the Elemental Skills of the Character Cards "Candace" and "Beidou": After the adjustment, the character that cast the Elemental Skill gains a shield and then prepares the skill (i.e. generating the shield and preparing the skill are split into two separate actions, so that if the shield is removed by certain effects, this will not result in the skill's preparation being canceled too).

Adjusts the effect of the Support Card "Yayoi Nanatsuki": "For each of your characters already equipped with an Artifact on the field, you spend 1 less Elemental Die (once per Round)." has been adjusted to "If two of your characters on the field already have an equipped Artifact, you additionally spend 1 less Elemental Die (once per Round)."

Adjusts the trigger condition for the effect of the Support Card "Seed Dispensary": The trigger condition "When you play an Equipment or Support Card with an original cost of 1 Elemental Die: ..." has been adjusted to "When you play a Support Card with an original cost of at least 2 Elemental Dice: ..."

Adjusts the number of Elemental Dice required and effect of the Support Card "Jeht": The Elemental Dice cost required has been adjusted from 2 Dice of any element to 1. The effect "If this card has recorded at least 5 Sophistication points, discard this card and generate Omni Element equal to the number of Sophistication points minus 2." has been adjusted to "If this card has recorded at least 6 Sophistication points, discard this card and attach Sand and Dreams to your active character." (The effect of "Sand and Dreams" is: "When you play a Talent card or a Character uses a Skill: Spend 3 less Elemental Dice.")

Note: The effect of the Event Card "Nature and Wisdom" will not result in the deck being shuffled. All "draw a random card of any certain type from your deck" effects will also not result in the deck being shuffled, but instead will result in 1 random card of the corresponding type being drawn and added to your hand.

〓Bug Fixes〓

● Character

Fixes an issue whereby, when certain Polearm-wielding characters performed Plunging Attacks, the position of the attack's special effect would be abnormal in certain situations (the actual DMG AoE works as intended).

Fixes an issue whereby after Xianyun's second Constellation was unlocked, the special effect on the tails of her outfit would abnormally disappear under certain circumstances.

● System

Fixes an issue whereby there were errors with certain key names on the Settings > Key Bindings screen when playing on a PC in German or French.

Fixes an issue whereby, after switching a character's outfit from the "Party Setup" menu, the corresponding character could not be switched to and deployed in certain situations.

Fixes an issue whereby, when challenging the Millennial Pearl Seahorse, the game camera couldn't be restored to the original angle after zooming out in certain situations.

Exciting updates in my life: my week of vacation has so far involved working physically in the house and or yard so hard that I’m in agony by bedtime. I have two modes, On and Off, and it’s been an On week, in large part because I’ve realized my thinning hair may well be due to my Wellbutrin so I’ve dropped the dosage and every time I change a psych med my anxiety goes bananas for weeks to months at a time. So instead of “relaxing” or “finishing one goddamn fic, what the fuck, me” I’ve (properly) removed the spare room’s asbestos popcorn ceiling and been forced to learn FAR more than I want to about ceilings and drywall given the state of what was covered up by the popcorn. Yesterday afternoon for a break from the Ceiling of Doom I cleaned the back deck that I couldn’t clean for a YEAR while we waited for the contractor to actually fix the dangerous structural instability. It took me four hours of continuous physical labor. There’s a lot wrong with me, but I AM getting biceps, which is delightful since I don’t like exercise per se and usually have the muscle tone of cooked linguine.

However! Tomorrow I’m going to sand down the joint compound I had to redo in a few places today after sanding the first time badly, and then! Then I shall prime it. Whenever that dries, time to attempt skim coating. Then realize I’ve failed and have to try that again one or two times before eventually sanding it again, priming it again, and finally, please God, painting it. Then painting the walls. Then painting, cutting mitered corners in, and gluing up the high density foam crown molding. Then yanking the carpets and learning how to lay vinyl flooring planks that will be impervious to the slings and arrows of senior dogs. It’s going to be a while. But one day, I will have that room in a condition where I can paint, miter cut, and install the baseboards. And after that? Build the FUCKING GUEST BED that has been IN BOXES IN THE GARAGE for TWO YEARS. over two years now! Jesus Christ.

I also finally managed to get rid of the plastic blinds I hated in the bedroom and put up curtain rods and curtains. And put up two bird feeders outside, including installing the hooks under the eves. I have been busy. Just not with writing. Also I’ve been deliberately avoiding tumblr bc it tends to make my mood worse rather than better; tragic. But sometimes I open the app and instead of checking notifications I just scroll and reblog and I can pretend that no one is being an asshole on the Internet.

Stiles typed out the list and hit send before sliding his phone back into his jacket pocket. The barista called his name and he scooped the large tray of coffees from the counter with a slight wave and a fiver in the tip jar. Shelly always made sure to add the extra whipped cream on his caramel macchiato frost and that was not to be forgotten.

The Boston air was crisp this morning as he stumbled out of the little coffee shop and towards Roscoe who was parked on the narrow street. While school was in Cambridge, the best coffee was across the river and everyone in his Computational biology department knew it.

Which was why Stiles was always the errand boy.

He put the departments coffees in the little box on the floor of the passenger seat strapping it in so that they would be safe for his long (not so long), arduous (re: three stop lights and a bridge), journey back to MIT.

A ding came from his phone, Stiles groaning loudly as he gripped the steering wheel and shook it in frustration.

"I swear, if it's Lydia changing her order for the seventh time, I'm throwing her Herbal tea into the harbor."

Ha. Boston Harbor. Tea. Stiles was hilarious.

He took another deep breath and opened his phone to see a small notification.

DH: Did you finish your paper on multidisciplinary approach to estimating wolf population size for long-term conservation?

"Huh. Specific..." Stiles had finished that paper a few weeks ago, but had barely made the deadline. He had been about to text Danny that the new AI prototype he had installed on Stiles' phone was whack when he saw the notification came from Instagram, not from M.A.T.T.

Another ping came through.

DH: And why would you need the percentage of Australian Deserts? That seems like a boring thing to spend your free time on.

Stiles' mouth hung open, eyes wide as he realized what was happening. Someone was replying to his DMs on Derek Hale's Instagram. He held his phone out like it was a bomb between thumb and forefinger; an almost whine escaped his mouth.

It had started when he was in High School almost 10 years ago now. One night he had been on an Adderall-Mountain Dew-Jelly Doughnut-Pizza high and decided that the best way to keep all his random thoughts in one place was to use the app that distracted him DAILY as a note system. He had even made a burner account so that he could keep all his random thoughts together.

Only problem was, his little distracted monkey brain had accidently clicked on Derek Hale's DMs rather than his fake account. It was five weeks in when Stiles noticed and at that point it was too late. It wasn't like Derek was going to answer him anyways, he had said on NUMEROUS occasions that social media was not his favorite thing and he only had the account to promote his new movies (which Stiles watched religiously. I Was a Teenaged Mothman was probably the worst and best movie franchise to ever hit the theaters and Derek Hale as Mothman was his every wet dream.)

So, he just continued to use it. Grocery lists, reminders, random thoughts at night, future movie ideas, school assignment ideas, complaints about his stupid roommate back in freshman year - he wrote it all.

And now someone was responding to TEN YEARS of DMs.

Stiles didn't know what he should do. Should he ask if this was actually Derek? No, wait that was stupid. Derek wouldn't actually be handling his social media. He had people. Peoples? Multiple people who could answer this for him.

"Some. of. us. have. hobbies. that. no. one. understands. And. I. need. it. to. win. a. bet." Stiles spoke each words as he typed it, sending the message out before typing another one. "And. yes. I. got. an. A. minus. because. Harris. hates. wolves."

Stiles tossed his phone onto the passenger seat and started driving to campus, mind still reeling that someone would be responding directly to random DMs that made no sense. If Stiles was asking questions about when the next IWATM movie, sure that would be a conversation the PR team might engage in. Not this.

Lydia owes you $40 for Venmo

Stiles decided to ignore it and his phone remained silent the rest of the day.

It had been a week since the strange response to his DM came through, so Stiles assumed it was a fluke. He had tried a new note handling app that Danny had recommended, but a day later he had already started throwing things back into Derek's DMs. Hey, cut him some slack, it was a 10 year habit.

His phone pinged and Stiles' mouth almost fell open again. Another response.

DH: What are you getting tickets for?

This time, Stiles was quick to respond.

SS: I'm going to try and get tickets to the Bruins game tomorrow. Gotta love hockey, am I right?

There was silence on the other side of the screen, Stiles letting out a frustrated sigh. Whoever Derek Hale's Social Media manager was, they picked the weirdest things to respond to.

DH: So not Mothman in Love premier?

Ah. Now he knew what this was. They were trying to see if fans were biting at the newest spin off. Smart marketing.

SS: I already have my tickets for that. Opening night, middle row, got the collector Popcorn bucket on hold too. I know a guy.

The three dots at the bottom of the screen indicated that the person was typing, Stiles wondering if they were going to ask for a quote or a picture for the page from the opening night.

DH: You have appalling taste in movies.

Stiles' mouth dropped open again, his mind running at a million miles a minute and then crashing into a brick wall with the word appalling painted over it.

SS: Excuse me, the Mothman movies are absolute hot trash and I eat them up like greasy diner food. Do not talk about my comfort trash like that.

SS: but they are pretty bad, so I mean. You're not wrong.

And done, there was NO way the Social Media manager would ever EVER respond to a fan who said something like that. He could go back to his note taking life and luckily Derek Hale would never know.

DH: Then why do you watch them?

SS: Because you're a fantastic and sexy actor and if I could I'd lick chocolate off your abs.

His phone pinged.

DH: You're not bad yourself.

HUH.

Stiles was speechless, his eyes reading over the sentence over and over and over again. He opened his Instagram and quickly flipped through the pictures he had. Most were of him with the Lab boys, Lydia was in a lot of them, some of him on vacation in Peru, some with his Dad. Nothing that would ever, EVER scream you're not bad yourself.

SS: wow, maybe you do need those glasses checked? Unless scrawny Computational Biology Doctoral candidates really crank your wheel.

DH: Computational Biology PHD? Big change from the FBI you were originally thinking about.

Stiles sucked his teeth. That was the problem with this dynamic. Stiles had written everything and anything about himself in these DMs and it could be anyone reading it.

SS: Cyber security would have been my downfall if I did FBI clearly, since you know everything and I know nothing about you. I don't even know if you're Actually Derek Sampson Hale.

There was a blip of the three dots and then nothing. Right, Well that was fun while it lasted. Stiles had been about to turn on his Playstation and forget everything when the ping came through.

Instead of a text, there was a picture. Low v-neck, black rimmed glasses, slightly messy hair, beard that looked like it needed to be trimmed, holding a sign that read your turn @StilesisMe.

Derek. Fucking. Hale.

"Oh my god, oh my god..." Stiles scratched the back of his head furriously, throwing the phone on his bed and just circling it like a vulture circling its next meal. "Derek Hale sent you a picture, Derek Hale is reading your shit."

He stopped walking for a moment. "You just told Derek Hale you'd lick chocolate off his abs."

Stiles threw himself on the bed, slamming his head over the pillow at least a dozen times. Finally he grabbed his phone and sent a quick message.

He waited.

God he waited.

And then the little Ghost of a notification from Snapchat appeared saying Haleofaguy added you as a friend. Stiles felt his fingers freeze as he hovered over the accept. Why, why was Derek Hale the movie star talking to him? Was he bored? Was he lonely?

Stiles remembered an interview once where Derek said he liked talking with people and learning new things, so maybe it was that? Maybe Stiles was just an interesting guy that Derek wanted to know.

No matter what it was, Stiles' insatiable curiosity got the better of him and he needed to know just how far this rabbit hole would go.

He took a minute to find a filter he liked and snapped a pretty unflattering picture of himself with the caption this is what your in for, buckle up Mothboy

Nothing happened, and then snapchat told him Derek Hale saved the picture to their chat and sent one back. It was the most unflattering angle Stiles had ever seen of the actor and he couldn't help but laugh.

ONE STEP FORWARD, TWO STEPS BACK

the cheap exhaust fan in your apartment is indeed falsely advertised, although you had foreseen this happen. a less than two thousand yen worth of device plus free installation is suspicious from the get-go but it's damn worth it for a newly employed healthcare professional living on a salary worth ten percent more than the minimum wage. you don't have to luxury yet to invest on expensive items but you still hoped the machine could perform at least a decent work.

the residue of smoke and moisture from the grilled salmon remains within the humble space of your living room. the smell lingers on the surfaces of the furniture and even on your cotton oversized shirt; a reek hard to remove. you made a mental note to purchase an air purifier on the next month's salary check.

well, at least for positivity's sake, you had a great dinner cooked and served by your personal chef, more like your bestfriend whom you abusively treat as your personal chef (to be fair, he volunteers to cook for you every time he hangs out at your place).

as soon as you finish rinsing off the cloud of soap on the last ceramic dish, you wipe your hands on the towel hanged on a magnetic hook on the refrigerator. your eyes dart to the sofa in the living room. it's empty, left without a trace of a dark haired boy.

your barefeet quietly padded on the wooden floor as your hunch leads you to a room. you can't blame a full time business owner, chef, and your part time life adviser to find the entire week exhausting. afterall, he requested a date night with you so he could unwind.

your head peeks at the doorway of the bedroom and instantly see your bestfriend, osamu miya, lying on his stomach and staring intently at the screen of his phone. he holds the gadget at an eye level as his brows furrow at each movement of his thumb.

"lying down when your stomach's full is bad." he jolts in surprise when he sees you standing next to him. he must have not noticed you coming in as he had his full attention at the bright light in front of him.

as if by instinct, your eyes shift at the screen of his phone. he defensively turns it away from you but your quick eyes were able to catch on an application hued in mustard yellow designed with three horizontal parallel lines.

"is that a dating app?" you plop your body next to him, lying side by side. not giving him a spare second to explain, you immediately snatch the phone from his grasp. "samu, since when?!"

"i used it before but anymore. i'm about to delete it." he didn't try to take back the phone but instead he gives his full trust on you as leans his body towards you, inching the distance between the two of you as he watches you open the application.

"thought you're never the type to use a dating app? what happened to "organic dating is still the best."?" you say using hs own words as you examine the interface of an unfamiliar application.

you share a similar standpoint with him when it comes to dating. when dating apps hit the trends, you were never swayed by it, never tempted to try because you have always believed in meeting a potential lover outside the confines of technology and osamu agrees. to him, the best way to find one's other half is to know them 'the organic way' hence, the quote and quote.

"it was a phase." he responses rather quietly.

"how come i never knew about it?" you find it odd that you've known him for almost a decade and been with him every week since college graduation but never had the idea of his so-called phase.

"it's pointless. give me back my phone, i'll uninstall it." your quick reflex dodges osamu's attempt to steal his phone from you.

"no! i'm not yet done exploring!" you protest.

"there's nothing in there that you'll find interesting!" osamu once again tries to take the phone from you but fails when you twisted your body away from him. losing balance, you fall helplessly on your back with his phone above your face.

"this alone is interesting." you click on an icon shaped in a sillouhette of a man. this action leads you to his profile.

a young osamu wearing a plain black baseball cap that he often sports back in uni stares back at you. his cheeks are tinted in soft red as he flashes a half smile. his arms are crossed in front of him therefore accentuating his broad shoulders. the plain white brick walls behind him heightens the glow on his face. his eyes, however, were dull.

"a college photo, really?" you mock him as you flash him the photo. you inquire, "when was this anyway?"

"third year."

"so, i was in second year."

"hm-hmp." he nods, watching you scan his profile.

"who took this?" you ask as you look closely at the image you have not seen before.

you scroll down to read the details about him typed below the interests section. volleyball and food are his top interests. sounds like him, you thought. a fun fact about him is that he has a twin. his astrology sign and mbti are also indicated below but what caught your eyes is the text inside the description box.

"looking for something casual."

osamu is not the type to date just for the sake of pleasure or the thrill. as far as you know, he takes every relationship to heart. you even tease him about being secretly sentimental. you jested that his reputation does not live up to his reality.

"suna took the photo and installed the app. all on that same night." he mirrors you, lying on his back as he looks at the phone.

"you look tipsy. were you drinking?" you point at his redded cheeks. he smiles softly, admiring your attention to details.

"yeah, we were."

"and you didn't invite me?! suna was there!" you dramatically gasp at him, forming your mouth into an 'o'. your reaction earns an airy chuckle.

"you were busy."

"i'm never too busy to hangout with you and drink."

"but you were." the smile on his face fades as he meets with your eyes, neck turned to the side so you are face-to-face with him.

"with academics? pft, second year was terrible. i can still remember the stress and agony i went through day by day. it was a hellhole. i'm sure i needed a break. i'm offended that you didn't invite me four years ago."

"no, not with school..." there was a brief pause, but it was long enough to build tension. he gazes at you intently before continuing. when silence took longer than it should, osamu takes the initiative to break the ice.

"give it back." he says, shifting his eyes to the device but does no effort to retrieve it.

"no." you turn your attention back to the gadget before clicking on the home menu. a picture of a woman around your age appears. "let's do a final swipe before you delete it." you prop back on your elbows.

unknotting the tightness in your stomach and reducing the sudden awkwardness from the previous conversation, you begin to read the details of the said woman in a rather playful tone.

"aries, twenty four, loves to workout, occassionally smokes and drinks, and does not want children." you highlight the last statement before giving him a look. you arch a brow at him. "you want children. not a match. left!"

osamu laughs, spreading a hand out. "alright, that's a swipe. my phone, please."

"final swipes. come on, don't spoil the fun." you say, rolling your eyes at him. he allows you to use his account, watching you swipe left after left in a quick manner without even reading the details of the suggested matches.

"you're not even paying attention!" osamu blurts out between laughs.

"not my type, not for you."

"how can you know they're not your type when you don't spare a second looking at them?!"

"i know at a first glance." you pull a serious yet playful face. you purse your lips like a detective about to crack a case and osamu finds it hard to stifle a laugh. "look, here." you turn the screen slightly towards him so he could see the woman's face.

"she will definitely ghost you." swipe left.

"guaranteed, she has ten other men talking to her." swipe left.

"she has her friends backing her up so talking to her may equate to talking her group of friends." swipe left.

"how do you even know that?!" at this point, osamu crashes his head on the mattress, laughing his head off. "you're judgemental."

"i know and i'm not proud of it." you continue to swipe left.

then, a photo of a woman with loops of hair falling graciously above her shoulder appears. she wears a light make up, a glossy tint bring fore to her plump lips. to say the least, she's beautiful. she has the aura of a woman who naturally has men lining up for him. you even find yourself attracted to her but an underlying envy simmers inside you. you bite onto your mollars and though you're apprehensive to know the truth, you dived in head first.

"is she your type?" you ask. osamu raises his head to peer at the screen of his phone. his eyes widen, taking interest at the woman in the dating app.

it takes it all in you not to turn the phone away from him but the unwavering look on his face lets you know the he is captivated by her. you should have not asked, a whisper hushes at the back of your head.

osamu finally averts his eyes away from the screen to look at you. he swallows. "no."

liar.

you bitterly huff, turning to look at the photo. "then what's your type?"

osamu leaves your question unanswered and as stillness dragged on, you take this as a cue to look at him. you are instantly met with a pair of hooded eyes. a deep hue of blue and gray adorns his orbs as he gently holds yours with fondness.

his eyes dart down on your face, your chin probably, you aren't sure where he's focused at and rested there for a moment before dithering back to meet with your eyes.

even with a decade long of friendship there are still boundaries where one should not cross. never once he touched you without your consent, never has he asked private questions that will make you feel unease. he was careful, always. respecting your boundaries as you do the same for him. but tonight he takes a leap, crossing lines he shouldn't but wished should have years ago. tossing the risks of ruining ten years of friendship for something more.

his lips smack against your mouth, answering your question with an action rather words. as you feel the touch of his sensitive skin against your mouth, a realization pops in your headㅡa thought that frightens you.

Can you do a step by step for installing revanced? I'm rubbish at figuring that sort of stuff out. I've got vanced on my phone and have been avoiding using a new phone because I hate YouTube ads so very much.

yeah sure! in the future i'd recommend checking out the r/ReVanced subreddit too (they have yet to put out actual official instructions but its still a good resource for any troubleshooting!) hope you dont mind me answering this publicly

This is for a non-root install!

Ok, what youre gonna need to download:

The latest release of the ReVanced Manager

Vanced MicroG (if you already have OG Vanced installed non-root, you probably already have a version of MicroG. no shame in updating it tho!)

!!DO NOT INSTALL YET!! An APK of Youtube ver 19.04.37 as of 2.22.24 (Edit 2.22.24: As a recent update, Revanced Patcher has a little button under each app to auto-search in your browser for the compatable version. APKMirror and APKPure are both reputable sites! I also reccomend an adblocker on these kind of sites)

Be sure to download the APK version, not the bundle. APKMirror is reliable for any future updates you might need.

Instructions:

Install MicroG, open it, and log in with whatever google account youre wanting to use Youtube with

Install Revanced Manager

When you open RVM, you'll be given the dashboard, patcher, and settings tab. You can update the manager from the dashboard tab if needed.

Go to the Patcher tab. You can select which application you want to patch. As of right now, the manager can not directly patch apps that are already installed on your system from Google Play/Galaxy store (unless your device is rooted). However, if you already have apps installed, it's a good place to see which of the apps you use *can* be patched and what version of it you need to download in order to patch.

Download the APK that you want to patch. I repeat, do not install it yet.

Uninstall any version of the app that might already be installed on your phone.

Go to Patcher>Select Application> Storage (in the bottom right)>Find and select the APK file

It should take you back to the patcher screen with Youtube as your selected application

go to "Select Patches" and go through and select the ones you want! They have little descriptions underneath each one which should be easy enough to understand

(overall edit 2.22.24) The one patch you NEED to select for a non-root install though is gonna be the "GmsCoreSupport" patch. pretty much everything else is optional. (Edit 6.23.23: as well as the "Client Spoof" patch to fix a bug preventing video playback)

once you've got all the patches you want, tap "done" and then "Patch"!

It'll take a solid few minutes, but once it's finished it'll prompt you to install it. Feel free to confirm.

That should get you where you need! You can also do this same process with quite a few other apps too, it's super useful.

There's no real need to go through this song and dance every time there's a new patch update. Really the only times you'll need to are if you're having any issues with the patched app that could be fixed with an update or if there's newly added patches that you want. So I'd recommend keeping an eye out for updates to the manager.

Cold Autumn.

09/11/23

Today, as I am sitting and trying to put together word by word for assignments (which failed, horrendously), I decided to start a new blog; one where I can be anonymous. This blog, from today onwards, might serve as a hideous space for my busy head, or a corner where I can sit and sip my cold coffee (I don't drink coffee).

Ever since I moved to this city roughly two months ago, my wandering eyes have laid on so many beautiful things and beings; the dogs that ran freely in the park, the babies who smiled when I said hello, the old buildings that hold unwritten stories, the leaves that fall magnificently, the cold breeze that pulls me back from the warm bakery (which I end up buying pastries from every day, anyway), the busses that would stop despite the green lights because students were running late crossing the streets, or strangers who quick to offer help without hesitation. These memories may remind me of all the blessings I couldn't count whenever I start counting them down one by one in the days to come. Whenever I start to question myself or fall into despair. Whenever I cross the street mindlessly, thinking my body isn't made of bones that would crack open but of stones. Whenever I forget that I am a vinyl with songs made of everyone who knows and loves me, even for a very brief moment. And those blessings; I should not count for they are so infinite or else, I might spend my whole life doing it.

So, I intend to write every tiny piece I cherish in this blog. One day, they might form a picture and I would hang it on the wall of my dream with a coffee table underneath (again, I don't drink coffee).

And I will start by writing these stories;

In September 2023, I set foot for the first time on the green field of this university. It took me five years to finally come here; the pandemic robbed 3 years out of it. I spent a year and a half picking up all these plans and finding the courage to actually try. I did well.

In October 2023, I saw the leaves turn yellow, then orange, then brown, and then fall. This is my first time living throughout autumn. All these cute autumn Pinterest-esque clothes I've always wanted to wear since I was a kid, are now in my wardrobe. But no one knew I wore them because a huge puffer was always on top of it. It's a cold autumn here. But I love it, still.

A few days ago as I was dead hungry, I ran down from the library to a cafe to eat my cold macaroni cheese. I didn't bring my spoon with me, so I asked the male waitress if they had a wooden spoon. He said, "We are not supposed to give this away to people. So if next time you come here and ask for this, and they don't give this to you, it's because we are not allowed to," while secretly giving me the wooden spoon. Thank you.

Yesterday, I had trouble trying to use the printer for school. The printing app was faulty on my laptop. I asked in the group chat, but none knew how to solve it. So I waited and waited for 20 minutes for someone to actually have answers to this. I wanted to go to the library. I wanted to study. I wanted to finish my assignment. But the printer did not work and I was stuck in that printing station for more than 30 minutes (sucks). I wanted to cry, I just wanted to have a nice day. Was that too much to ask? (I was on my period. It wasn't me. It was the hormone). Then, a stranger came. "Here, use my flash disk". Thank you, but my laptop has a Type-C port. "Oh, I got one in my room" and he sprinted out of the door and came back in two minutes while trying to catch his breath. He took the stairs since it's faster than elevator. His room is on the 4th floor– the printing station is on the 1st. A moment later, a friend from a different building came to this printing station to help me figure out the trouble with my installer. It wasn't solved. But thank you, both of you.

Today, I sit in this library seat where I can see the sun at its best spot (not a good spot, too shiny). But I feel contented. I have not started my assignment, but I wrote something that will remind me just how far I have walked, and how much beauty of this world I have encountered on my way.

Enough wasting time, I shall go back to my paper. I will tell myself I do well, later. When the autumn is still cold.

Every Droplet he absorbs will increase the charging speed and will heal Neuvillette. When the charging is complete, then a Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment will be unleashed, dealing continuous AoE Hydro DMG to all opponents in a straight-line area in front of him. If Neuvillette's HP is above 50%, he will continuously lose HP while using this attack.

◆ Elemental Skill "O Tears, I Shall Repay"

◆ Summons a Raging Waterfall that will deal AoE Hydro DMG to opponents. After hitting an opponent, this skill will generate a certain number of Sourcewater Droplets.

Cashflow Supervision (5-Star Catalyst)

ATK is increased by 16%. When current HP increases or decreases, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 14% for 4s. Max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When the wielder has 3 stacks, ATK SPD will be increased by 8%.

◆ During the event wish "Epitome Invocation," the event-exclusive 5-star weapon Cashflow Supervision (Catalyst) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

The Dockhand's Assistant (4-Star Sword)

· When the wielder is healed or heals others, they will gain a Stoic's Symbol that lasts 30s, up to a maximum of 3 Symbols. When using their Elemental Skill or Burst, all Symbols will be consumed and the Roused effect will be granted for 10s. For each Symbol consumed, gain 40 Elemental Mastery, and 2s after the effect occurs, 2 Energy per Symbol consumed will be restored for said character. The Roused effect can be triggered once every 15s, and Symbols can be gained even when the character is not on the field.

The Struggle effect can be triggered once every 15s, and Symbols can be gained even when the character is not on the field.

Once you have obtained these 4 rewards by any means, completed your Daily Commissions or your Encounter items, you will not be able to obtain more rewards. Encounter Points are only valid on the day they are obtained. Whenever the Daily Commissions refresh, so too will your Encounter Points reset.

◇ Methods of Obtaining Encounter Points:

1. Complete Quests: this includes Archon Quests, Story Quests, World Quests or Invitation Quests. The Encounter Points you will gain will depend on the length and type of said Quest.

2. Collection: Collect lost Oculi, Crimson Agates, Lumenspar, and Plumes of Purifying Light to obtain Encounter Points.

3. Chests: Open chests during exploration to obtain Encounter Points.

4. Events: Take part in events and complete event objectives and obtain rewards to obtain corresponding Encounter Points.

Millennial Pearl Seahorse

◇ A lonesome lord of seahorses that has gained the form of a fantastical beast and has surpassed almost all other Fontemer Aberrants.

The Xenomare Pearl beneath its head is a crystallization of Electro that will allow it to use more powerful elemental attacks and possess stronger defensive abilities. Other than using Elemental Reactions to destroy the Xenomare Pearl, you can also destroy the Resonant Coral Orbs it creates while guiding Fontemer Hoarthunder to deal effective DMG to said Pearl.

Located in the Liffey Region

Experimental Field Generator

◇ A large and out-of-control Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering device.

During combat, it will channel ousia energy to unleash a Gravity Reduction Field. Characters within this field can jump significantly higher. When the device is in this state, its Gravity Reduction Field will shut down if its core is annihilated by Pneuma attacks.

Located in the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region

Frost Operatives and Wind Operatives

◇ Elite agents among the Fatui.

In combat, they will use the Hunt Down skill to attach a Life Bond to characters they hit. While Life Bond is active, the character will take continuous DMG, and Hunt Down will deal more DMG to them.

Deepwater Assault Mek

◇ Machines created from the union between Fontaine's intricate device and special energy technologies.

Based on whether it's imbued with ousia or pneuma energy, the machine will operate differently in battle. When either energy is annihilated upon being attacked by its opposite, an Overloaded state will be induced, causing the machine to lose energy and its combat capabilities.

3. Win Guest Challenges, matchmade Co-Op duels, or Arena of Champions matches to earn Sennight Gauntlet rewards, including Player EXP and Lucky Coins. Rewards will further increase as your Player Level increases.

4. Player EXP and Lucky Coins earned from the Sennight Gauntlet are subject to the weekly limit, and the total rewards obtained through different game modes cannot exceed the limit.

5. The Sennight Gauntlet Rewards will refresh each Monday, and the weekly rewards for the Sennight Gauntlet will be determined based on your Player Level at that time:

Player Level 1-4: Up to 2,400 Lucky Coins and 800 Player EXP

The Forge Realm's Temper is once again available. The theme of this edition is "The Forge Realm's Temper: Clever Strategems":

Cleaving Moon

When the character's HP increases or decreases, their Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 16% for 6s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. Max 3 stacks.

Phase II:

Converging Moon

After the character's Charged Attack hits an opponent, the character will receive a 20% Elemental or Physical DMG Bonus, corresponding to the Elemental or Physical DMG type of the Charged Attack, for 5s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. Max 3 stacks. Charged Attack DMG bonuses from different Elemental types or Physical DMG are counted independently.

Phase III:

Coalescing Moon

After the active character's Normal or Charged Attack hits an opponent, that character's Normal and Charged Attack CRIT Rate is increased by 6% for 5s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s. Max 5 stacks. Each stack's duration is counted independently. This effect will be cleared if the character leaves the field.

● Enemies

Reduces the DMG done by Annihilation Specialist Meks when hitting a character multiple times in a row with Ousia: Ceaseless Blade attacks.

Optimizes the patrol routes of certain enemies nearby the Domain of Blessing: Molten Iron Fortress in order to prevent an issue where characters would enter combat straight away after teleporting.

Optimizes the camera performance when the Aeonblight Drake descends from mid-air and lands on the ground.

● System

Optimizes certain creation screens.

a. After crafting, forging, cooking, or creating furnishings, the selected formula will no longer be moved to the last line in the list.

b. When crafting, forging, cooking, or creating furnishings, the currently selected character will appear at the top of the list.

c. After creating furnishings, schematics for which you've run out of materials will not be refreshed immediately. The list will only be updated after you switch to another screen.

Optimizes the Adventure Rank Ascension experience:

a. Enhances the Adventure Rank Ascension prompt in the Paimon Menu. Travelers can open the "Adventure EXP and Adventure Rank" screen and redirect to the corresponding quest by tapping the prompt.

b. Adds a prompt for the Adventure Rank Ascension Quest in "Adventurer Handbook: Guide."

c. Adjusts the lineup of opponents in the Adventure Rank Ascension Domain, and shortens the overall length of the Domain.

Reduces the Adventure Rank required to unlock "Adventurer Handbook: Embattle" from 20 to 16.

Adjusts the skills of the Character Card "Tartaglia": His Elemental Skill now also applies Riptide to the target character, and the Duration of the Riptide effect is now unlimited. Hydro DMG caused by Flash of Havoc has been adjusted to 5.

Adjusts the Elemental Burst DMG of the Character Card "Xingqiu": Hydro DMG caused has been adjusted to 2.

In Version 4.1, there is currently an issue whereby there is a chance that characters will lose any abilities previously obtained from Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants after teleporting to an underwater Teleport Waypoint. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in Version 4.2.

Fixes an issue in Genius Invokation TCG whereby if you had 0 Elemental Dice before the Action Phase began, you would still be able to abnormally play the Event Card "Covenant of Rock" due to the Omni Element generated by the Equipment Card "Gambler's Earrings" after the Action Phase began. (Under normal conditions, "Covenant of Rock" should not have been playable as you had more than 0 Elemental Dice at this time.)

Fixes an issue which would occur in certain situations whereby, when characters were moving underwater, the camera view would go through the character and cause their model to display abnormally.
