Law gulped heavily, watching as the tiny, oh-so-tiny piece of paper moved weakly across his palm, getting smaller with every second as the edges burned more and more. There was barely anything left. Barely enough to hang onto any hope. “What are you doing?” Law growled, but he could barely hear himself. There was a hum in his ears, a white noise that didn’t mean anything, didn’t serve any purpose but to drive him even more mad. He refused to believe this. The paper had to be lying. There was simply no way, no way that Luffy lost. No way that his life was about to disappear, leaving behind nothing but a few specks of ash.

I (once again) commissioned the incredible @kagamiciel for this gorgeous piece to go with my fic Ash (from the Ashes of Life series) and I couldn't be happier with the result!! I mean, look at it, it's so so so beautiful 😭🤍

slowly working on typesetting my one piece law fic the thing that remains. i’m opening each chapter with a pic from the corresponding part of the manga. its sort of fun skimming through all the chapters trying to find the dramatic full page spreads that i can use, or like, scenes that really highlight the impactful moments of the chapter in question. hot damn do i love law’s sinister expression in the second chapter tho

Law watches Luffy as he sleeps. He finds it so calming how peaceful his partner is when he is asleep. How his rubbery arms are wrapped around him, keeping him in place as he buried his face into Law's chest.

It used to annoy Law when they were first dating. But now, ten years later, ten years of being together and cuddling with Luffy, he slowly began to love it. Law loves to be held. Luffy's strong hold on him reminds him how much he is loved, how much he is protected.

He loves me. Law would always think gleefully as he watches Luffy sleep on his chest. Law hugs him and holds him back just as strong as Luffy holds him. He never thinks that he could ever show Luffy how loved he is as equally as Luffy shows him love. But, Luffy knows that Law loves him eternally.

He sighs dreamily. Out of all people, he chose me. I feel so honoured.

Before they got together, he was so worried that he would loose him. He eventually lost everyone he loved, with the exception of his crewmates. But Luffy was his special boy. He couldn't stop himself from falling in love with this ray of sun.

When he first felt feelings, he tried so hard to get away. But he couldn't. He admitted defeat and ran into Luffy's arms.

Luffy reassured him, "Torao, it's okay, I won't die. Even if I do, I won't ever regret meeting you. If I die soon I don't care. Because I'll have the pleasure of loving you my darling."

The thought of anything happening to Luffy scared Law a lot. He had nightmares sometimes. He hugged the boy tighter. Luffy was Law's own personal teddy bear. Law loved to cuddle. So nighttime was always his favourite. Secondly, was the morning. The morning when he woke up in his partner's arms. His Luffy holding him close, like a promise.

He wondered often to himself, would his parents be proud of him? Would they really? He was a pirate, he killed people, he was bisexual, he got tattoos all over his body, he screwed around before he met Luffy, the list went on and on.

Would they like Luffy?

Would they still love me?

Are they mad that I'm the only one that didn't die?

If they are then they are probably are upset with how I spent my life.

Law hated being alone with his thoughts. Honestly, he loved it and hated it all at the same time. It really depended on what he was thinking about. Right now, he hated it.

Almost immediately, Luffy reached up to touch his face, "Hey, go to sleep, you're thinking so much, I can hear it." He whispered to him, in a loving yet stern voice.

Law turned to his love, his beautiful man that he calls his boyfriend, "Yes dear," He joked with him. He turned onto his side and held Luffy to his chest.

He got so, so lucky.

And with that, they fell asleep blissfully.

There is a weirdly specific Sonic the hedgehog fan to Law/Luffy shipper pipeline that I've noticed, and I desperately want to figure out what the connection is.

It might also be Sonic -> One Piece in general, but even still. A lot of the Law/Luffy fans I've seen were/are Sonic fans.

Luffy loved to hold Law's hand. Eating, holding hands. Sleeping, holding hands. Walking, holding hands. He loved to hold Law's hand.

People would give them looks. They always think it's so disgusting how to grown men were being romantically involved. They never cared though. They loved each other very much. They almost never felt discouraged that the other didn't love them. Almost.

Oh, please, say to me, you'll let me be your man

Law was feeling unsure at the moment. He didn't see any difference in the way Luffy touches him, and the way he touches his crew. He hugs his crew, he cuddles with his crew, he falls asleep on his crew sometimes. There really isn't too many differences. Yes, Luffy might kiss him from time to time, but... that's it.

He feels so lost right now. He doesn't let his insecurities out though. It could cause problems in the alliance and taking down Doflamingo. He watched as he was laying down with Zoro and talking with him.

Does he even love me anymore?

Law felt tears running down his face. He quickly wiped them away and sighed. Whatever. It doesn't matter.

He went to the captain's quarters waiting for Luffy to come to bed. He was waiting. He doesn't want to fall asleep without Luffy by his side. He can't fall asleep without Luffy by his side.

Maybe I'm too clingy. Maybe he's sick of me. I'm too much trouble. I'm so annoying.

He sighed and closed his book. Law crossed his arms and tried to argue against his own thoughts. Soon, Luffy came into the room and started getting dressed. He came back in and crawled into bed.

Instantly, Law pulled him into a kiss and started making out with him. Luffy started pushing Law away.

"Jeez, Torao, ack!" He got attacked by another kiss to the lips. "Torao, what's with you tonight?" Luffy asked after he got some air.

Law started to feel embarrassed now. What was he doing? He sighed and layed himself down on Luffy's front. He buried his head into his neck.

"I'm sorry," he said in a low voice. He feels like he's going to cry. He feels so ashamed.

Luffy was confused, "What are you sorry for? You did nothing wrong! Maybe if you went a little slower but still..."

"It's just... do you love... me?" Law's voice broke at the end. He was so happy Luffy couldn't see his face. The thing about their relationship was that Luffy took all of Law's guards down. His defenses eliminated. So whenever Law was around his partner, he turned into a hot mess of emotions.

Luffy sat up immediately when Law asked that. "Torao! Law," He put his hands on his partner's face, wiping any tears away.

"Of course I love you sweetheart. Why would you think I don't love you? You mean so much to me." Luffy spoke gently making sure that Law believes every word.

Luffy's soft voice broke the dam in Law's river of tears. "I-it's be-because you don-don't hug me a lot, you don't-don't wanna make out with meeee, you don't w-wanna s-spe-end time with me, none of that, nothing!" Law sounded so needy and stupid at the moment but it all hurt him so much. "I-I'm sorry Lu-Luffy but it hurts."

"Oh Law," Law melted into Luffy's kind words. "My sweet, sweet Law. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I never made you feel loved. I'm sorry I hurt you so much. I wish you would've told me sooner but I'm glad you told me!"

Law looked appalled. He really thought Luffy would be annoyed at him for acting all needy. "But-"

Luffy cut him off, "Law, you don't ever need to apologize for telling me things. Law if I hurt you then you need to tell me so I don't ever do it again. I can't help you unless you talk to me."

He took his lover into his arms and rocked him back and forth. He held him as Law cried into his chest. Law fell asleep in his arms that night.

"I'm so sorry I ever made you feel unloved, Torao, my love." Luffy whispered before he pulled Law into bed with him. He stroked his hair and held him all night.

When I touch you, I feel happy inside

When Law woke up, he noticed Luffy wasn't in bed with him, he frowned to himself and covered his despair with the blanket. But then he heard the door opening. He poked his head out and gasped.

Luffy was serving him breakfast in bed!

"Uh, I'm sorry, I don't know how to cook but Sanji taught me how to make some breakfast for you and I tried so if you don't like it-" He got cut off with a kiss.

"It's perfect." He motioned for Luffy to come sit with him. He held his hand for him.

"I love you Law. I'm sorry that I ever made you feel any different." He kissed his boyfriend's hand, their fingers interlocked.

Law blushed fervently, "Yeah, love you too... idiot" he smiled happily.

He ate his food, smiling happily and held hands with his beloved.
