Sladejay as metaphorical tigers omegaverse kidfic au- tigers are solitary predators. Jason and Slade in this story are also solitary predators, isolated by the fact that they’ve both (somewhat on purpose) pushed away everyone else in their lives. The tiger mating process starts when the female goes into heat and starts advertising that she’s open for business. They court by circling around each other. Copulation occurs over a few days, then they go about their separate ways. Jason and Slade meet up, “circle around each other”, and end up sharing Jason’s heat. When it’s over they go about their separate ways. Alone once again. Jason gets pregnant, doesn’t tell Slade, but keeps to kid. Manages to have the kid in secret without telling anyone like the solitary predator he is. Eventually Slade, and perhaps estranged family, learn about the kid via: a. Kidnapping situation where he has to ask for help or b. Random invitation to the kid’s 1st birthday party. Dealers choice. Hijinks ensue

‘Busy?’ the text reads, when Jason picks up his phone from the kitchen counter.
Jason hesitates for a second. He's just cleaning up his apartment a little, so he's not really involved in anything, per se. He just finished the dishes; there's other things to do, but nothing that can't be postponed. It’s only about five; he’s not intending on leaving for patrol for at least a couple more hours, and he doesn't have anything related to that that has to be done, either. Depending on what Slade wants — depending on how long it’s going to take — he's probably free.
Yeah, he can— He can be free. For Slade.
He taps his thumb on the back of the phone. Takes a breath. ‘No.’ he sends back.
The response comes back almost immediately.
‘Open your door.’

the DC/Discworld crossover someone actually asked for. I'm really happy with this one - it's one of the few fics I took my time with this year, and it's all the better for it. It's a murder mystery (sort of) with Vimes, Sybil and Vetinari in Gotham, and more than anything it's funny. or at least I think it is.
