Time to let Alexander J Newall lull me to sleep with the soothing sounds of a guilt ridden murderer slowly and agonizingly turning into a tree. 😌

ok since the Magnus Protocol is confirmed AU from tma, and jonny and alex have purposely not said that their voices are not reappearing in TMAGP, consider:
evil AU jon and martin. mostly because I just know jonny and alex would have such a good time acting that out. And also because i want to see a completely unhinged jon and a web!martin used to their full potential damnit

im trying to wrap my head around why i dont get enthusiastic about reddit style fiction (not a dig but a descriptor) like scp and shit like that, bc its not that i can’t enjoy them but i think its like… when stuff is framed as if it were real, but its fiction, its like, well KNOWING its fiction eliminates a huge element of the intrigue, but also, crucially, i like character-driven stories, or at least stories WITH characters. but i also like it when things are interesting for said characters to experience, like, i want the ghosts and monsters and conspiracies but i want the characters to be character-ing, yknow? not that i dont enjoy slice of life and… what would u call the first thing, non-character specific horror? idk? but i prefer when its both. its like i love kirk and spock but also i do enjoy watching them Experience Situations when i watch star trek. i enjoy the idea of spooky national forest monsters that arent real but experiencing it alongside a character would be better, and i want more trans and gay characters whose lives are clearly trans and gay but i want a plotline to unfold too

Okay so I was listening to the q&a after season 1 of Monstrous Agonies they mentioned what might be my favorite thing about audio dramas: there's no one (or hardly anyone) in-between the creator and the content
Each of the shows I've listened to has been the creators vision as they made it. Each one has had such amazing representation and crazy, interesting plots and unique stories.
I love just vibing and hearing a suspenseful tale and not having to worry that it's going to fall into hurtful stereotypes or tropes.

I’m at episode 87 of woe.begone and I knew it was horror but I didn’t think it would make me cry! Michael is so sad :(( I don’t want mike to just leave :( but I want mike to have time with Edgar :( whyyy lol
God yeah 😭 on one hand I'm like nooooo Mike stay with Michael, what about satellite base?! But on the other hand he needs to spend the time he has left with Edgar actually with Edgar and in his own timeline! It's just an awful situation, because it's not even like Mike's going home for a particularly happy reason. 69 and 87 are probably the two episodes that get me the most teary eyed something about goodbyes between friends just gets me I suppose

@a-mag-a-day for todays episode I'll share something that's been bothering me since I first heard this one 😔...
im having trouble visualizing Jon cutting off his finger. not because of the horror or anything, I just can't work out the practicalities;
Like, he says it grows back almost as soon as he takes the knife out - presumably, he's using something with a taller blade than the width of his finger. right. I mean he's not using a paring knife to saw through skin and tendons, that'd be insane. So then, if it grows back when you take the knife away, that seems like an easy problem to solve: just use the knife itself to push your chopped off finger away, so it can't heal! clearly this has a simple solution
But that doesn't happen. So I'm left with 3 options:
Even when he pushes the finger bits away, they get zoomed back up to the wound like magnets and reattach
the chopped of part DOES stay off but a new one grows back immediately. Seems unlikely, Jon would definitely talk about trying to just use the extra loose finger as an anchor in that case
it just didn't occur to him, for some reason
Jon needed to be unable to cut off pieces of himself because for the narrative to work, he had to go to Jared, so he'd have a neat way to get his Flesh mark, and im putting way too much thought into the gory logistics

tma is so unfair why does it make me like. shit my pants level terrified and then in the same episode i get chest pains from the pure unadulterated pining of two people who care so deeply for each other but know they are forced away from each other by forces far stronger than them. feel my heart ripped out of my chest as they get more and more cynical and driven by their own “fates”. lay on the ground lifeless as they are on the same side but cannot even see each other for fear of ruining plans in the works for probably longer than theyve been alive.. drown in my own tears as they must abandon the one person they truly trust and love in the world.
