You know what’s really weird about Ted Lasso is that we’re supposed to believe that any genuine Mancunian would actively support and choose City over Man United. Like I get that it’s not the point of the show and City have been the “dominant” team for a minute but like really?

I love fanfic but if I see a book described in advertising as tropes common to fanfic I will scream. Fanfic is wonderful. It’s an artistic medium with basically no payoff that brings a lot of joy to people and helps fill the void, and tropes help in filtering what you do and don’t want to see. But. If I am reading a book, telling me the tropes in it is like,,, the cheapest way to advertise it. I want to hear a spoilerless plot summary, the genre, and see if those combined appeal to my senses. Listing tropes isn’t worth the same as putting in the effort to explain it as a story. I don’t read as often as I’d like too (and my current reading list is so long) but I’d like to think Ive read enough to know that characters and stories have to feel like something intended to be original and not just a list of popular ideas. And fanfic authors do write great descriptions for their works, which often don’t mention tropes. If an author picked up by a publisher can’t do that in advertising why should I read their work?

The people against bows becoming a trendy fashion accessory has annoyed me sooo much lately. Saw a tiktok that was like “if you get uncomfortable with us saying wearing bows infantilizes women and supports the patriarchy, it just means you’re uncomfortable with us pointing out you’ve been engaging in a harmful trend/behavior 😌” aaaaaAAAAAAH people online are allergic to nuance

I hate that every time you say a character is gay or trans and it doesn't actually take anything away from the story people (bjgot cishets) ask for proof
Let me live through trans superhero stories
I don't get to be 6feet and pure muscle irl so let me have this one thing 😭😭😭

I know this AU has since died down, but recently it's really been helping me look on the bright, fun side of college, so I decided to draw @spectacledraws's (go check her out!!!) Deltarune college au as if it were a fake manga (heavily inspired by the Yotsuba comics)!
For those curious what the title means (which I hope I didn't royally mess up the Japanese on):
別の伝説 (betsu no densetsu) - Another Legend
DELTARUNEの二次創作 (Deltarune no nijisousaku) - A DELTARUNE side-story

I don't think a lot of people realize that lot of their advice to disabled people often boils down to "Get over it." they are trying to be helpful but their idea of helpful is "Just do the thing" because that's what they do. for them they just do things. It comes naturally to just do it.
They don't know how to bridge the gap between you and the task. For them the bridge is already pre-built and stable. For disabled people the bridge is run down, not well kept, it feels unsteady and is hard to get across without being slow and cautious - hell for some people there is no bridge and we need to build it ourselves but we don't have the bridge building tools and no one gives them to us.
"Just cross the bridge." They say before walking over their pre-built bridge. They never gave you the tools to build a bridge to cross.

just saw someone say Rick Riordan making a TV show is just as bad as anything JKR has done. BFFR you're comparing Rick Riordan trying to make his world more inclusive, changing some parts because of money/time constraints, or just making changes cus he thinks they're needed, to JKR being a terrible person!
