I know this AU has since died down, but recently it's really been helping me look on the bright, fun side of college, so I decided to draw @spectacledraws's (go check her out!!!) Deltarune college au as if it were a fake manga (heavily inspired by the Yotsuba comics)!

For those curious what the title means (which I hope I didn't royally mess up the Japanese on):

It's so fun cause omg the horror and guilt the addisons feel not only because they didn't realize these were pieces of their friend but also realizing that abandoning him and ignoring the sketchiness of the caller in the first place allowed this to happen. Like if they were more concerned than jealous they could've pointed out red flags even though Spam was probably already in too deep.

I like endings that are messed up or twist on characters' desires. I can imagine the ads just saying they just wanted him back or wish they had a piece of him as a memento and the omnipresent messenger gives them exactly what they asked for. It's like a genie's wish or something that causes a finger on the monkey's paw to curl.

#I imagine they get the glasses last cause that technically still has his conscoiusness in it #like it they put that on the doll he'll be back #but i can imagine the messenger keeping them and constantly taunting the ads about one piece missing #maybe that how I continue with them wanting the glasses #weird dependency on the hollow puppet body that looks way to much like their old pal #as they go around trying to find the glasses that would effectively fix the hollow part #also the idea spam being disassembled while alive and aware is cool in my mind #I cant imagine it hurts too bad #phantom pain since hes a doll like a dull ache in his joints when something is taken #but still having undescrible dread as the person who caused all this is tormenting him further and then being stuck with them as stylish #as stylish shades #fucked up #ask #anon #utdr #undertale #deltarune #spamton #spamton g spamton #case file: spam au

Happy Deltarune Chapter 2 Day! 🎉

Presenting a revisited old idea I had:

Recruitable Party Member Spamton!

Available in [Big Shot] RED and PIPIS [Blue Blue Electric Blue]

Normal! Spamton (Red Mage)

Acquired via Normal Route

According to Final Fantasy Wiki, Red Mages can learn the spells of White and Black mages, but it comes at the cost of lower stats.

He's more Addison looking because we made him a Real Boy tm! Behaviorally, not much has changed apart from being more composed.

Normal! Spamton's starting armour are the "Bargain Hunters" - the spiffy orange glasses he's wearing. This orange is a blend of the Dealmaker's pink and yellow. From what I read, orange lenses are ideal for foggy and low light conditions and filters out blue light.

Normal! Spamton has the ThornRing in his inventory. It's an incompatible weapon type so he cannot equip it. (But if one asks Malius to fuse ThornRing with an equippable weapon…)

Weird! Spamton (Blue Mage)

Acquired with the presence of any Weird Route save file

Referencing FF Wiki again, Blue Mages learn spells from enemies.

Weird! Spamton often freezes and stutters in his speech and actions. Other than that, he is Spamton.

I left him a puppet because you didn't "free" Spamton in Weird! Route (and also to show how bad the Player messed up)

His starting armor is the "Snow Visor" - those snazzy purple glasses. I read that purple (technically red/purple) lenses are good in snowy weather. This purple is the complimentary color of the orange in Normal! Spam's glasses.

He has the Dealmakers in his inventory. They can either be exchanged with the Snow Visor or the Player snag them for themself.

Spamton Stats

Health: 150 * Attack: 8 * Defense: 0 * Magic: 7 * Guts: 1

I took his base game stats for this. Health is 600 ÷ 4, because the OG value seemed too high for a starting party member. The 7 in magic came from adding 1+9+9+7 and then dividing by 4 (6.5) and rounding up (7). (9 + 4) ÷ 2 also equals 6.5

His Guts is 1 because I wasn't sure what other number to give him.

Funny Stats (Normal! Spam): [Hot Stuff]: 1997, Sleaziness: 94

Regular Attack has him throw a Pipis

[That's A Spicy Meatball]

Specils: Money Vacuum (Damage + Chance of Stealing D$ or Items from the enemy), Minitons (Summon clones to harass the enemy), Word Bullets (words *can* hurt your enemy)

Normal! Spam has Heal Deal (heals 60 HP to entire party)

Weird! Spam replaces Heal Deal with [Market Research], which allows him to copy an enemy's last used attack for the duration of one battle. (Works like the Mimic move in Pokémon.) He also has a < 20% chance of Freezing enemies when he attacks them.

Regardless of form, Spamton's starting weapon is The Big One, a broken sword with a blue polished pommel resembling a Pipis. (It's meant to be the sword he sells in his shop.)

Yet another Deltarune AU from a dream with Spamton in it (Corruption Route AU)

So I just woke up from a wild dream like 10 minutes ago (from when i started writing this). I was sweating and I knew I had to write it all down before i forgot.

To preface, i drank the night before and woke up hungover so i ate some mcchicken nuggets and then went back to sleep and had this dream.

In my dream, I was playing Deltarune and got excited because I finally got past the teacup ride when i was doing the keygen stuff for Spamton (yes, im still stuck on that part irl).

Then I did all the stuff where he uploaded himself onto the disk for me. Then I got to his boss battle and i wouldnt stop dying. i couldnt get past him.

So you guys know how in the jevil fight you dont NEED to beat him after dying and you have the option to just leave? (i remember this because i also couldnt defeat jevil irl) That was an option with Spamton in my dream. So after dying a whole bunch i just… left and started to continue my gameplay as normal.

but the thing is that the gameplay was way different now. I was meeting a bunch of new characters and bosses. (one character i can remember was a normal cat but he was wearing monk robes and sitting on a stool like a person). And most battles no longer consisted of the normal rpg stuff - now most fights were rhythm challenges – like parappa the rappa. And Kris would take damage if you messed up.

And when you tried to talk to characters, a lot of what they would say was censored - seemingly by spamton. The censored parts would have red background and either yellow or black text. The character would try to say something to yu, but instead all that would come out was [file corrupt], [blocked], [censored]. And eventually the characters would just give up on speaking to you because they knew theyd get censored. if you tried to talk to them again they just said “…”

Over time, Kris’ head became a heart shape that was split black and white on each side. As the game progressed, Kris started to look more and more like Spamton and Kris started getting Spamton’s nose, hair, mouth, glasses, and height. Kris eventually looked just like Spamton, but with a heart shaped head. And Kris’ soul was just made of static.

In order to save your game, you also had to pay Spamton money. The save points were tiny angel Spamtons that carried little phones, and they all had spotlights on them. The one i remember the best says (spaces added by me so it doesn’t get accidentally filtered by blacklist):

“By saving, you agree to seeing:

Violen ce, blo od, flas hing imagery, dea th, and ME!

This save will cost half of your Kromer.”

(when you saved, you could see your dark dollars depleting in the top corner of your screen like in animal crossing)

My dream ended at this save point.

As you progress through the game, it clearly becomes more and more corrupted by Spamton. Because you didnt defeat him in the boss fight like you were supposed to, he is now wreaking havok on the game files themselves as Ex/Neo. he is literally like a virus at this point, and he is changing the files so that this is becoming HIS game.

Its like in the irl snowgrave route when all of queens paintings in the mansion are spamton paintings instead, but way more intense/obvious.And you keep catching him following you.

Ralsei, Susie, Berdley, and Noelle also never showed up in my dream, so idk what happened to them.

Other stuff from the dream:

- i tried to talk to some red Swatchlings that were sitting at a booth in the swatch cafe. They spoke in deep Spanish accents and told me to go away :(

- Sometimes I was viewing the game from the thrid-person like I was playing Deltarune normally on my nintendo switch, but sometimes it was in first-person like I was actually in the game myself.

- At one point during my dream, i went on YouTube to find a guide for the “secret spamton route” because i got stuck :) I watched a commentary video instead that was talking about theories and the video guy kept calling it the Corruption Route. So thats what Im calling it lmao.

- Some characters wouldnt start speaking to me from me interacting with them. some of them would just havve speech bubbles that floated above their heads when I came within a certain distance of them. but they were always getting censored anyways. some of them did manage to get actually words through, but i cant remember what they said.

- if you ran out of the money in the game, it would give you a game over.

So that was my weird spamton dream.. Made through a combination of hyperfixation, a hangover, and eating before sleeping.
