I actually think it’s a huge disservice to dndads that it’s looped in NaDDPOD, Dimension 20, etc. As someone who came from those, they are barely in the same category? And if you come from those fandoms expecting more of that, you’re going to be disappointed.
The only thing they share is the fact they’re ‘dnd shows’. NaDDPOD/D20 incorporate the medium of d&d really strongly to tell a story in a world they built, while also just being funny people while they play. The priority is the story- but they know the comedy will come from the players throughout.
Dndads is ABOUT the comedy. The story is there to provide moments for the comedy. Dndads doesn’t NEED to be played in d&d- that’s just the system that they chose to add variety and chance into their improv show. Dndads gains story from improvisation that then forms the world around them. It’s about prompts to make jokes off of. Collaborating with things like Hey Riddle Riddle makes a lot of sense in that aspect. Dndads takes advantage of the podcast format in a way many of the others don’t as well.
I love all of these series, but they suffer from the same problem I find in things like anime- where the medium is viewed as a genre. ‘D&D actual play show’ is the MEDIUM they use to tell their stories, but they are all different genres with incredibly different settings, vibes, etc.

Book 6 Idia Shroud brings a certain “I will remain passive about my own will and fate for the ‘greater good’ but I will rip apart the world for the people I love” kind of energy that I am very into and incredibly concerned by

honestly sometimes I think I need to post less because I am very unfiltered and post stream of consciousness style and I see this as a personal blog but of course I have gained like 2k followers over the past years so there’s some expectation for me to say things that others think are normal…

something i’ve always wanted to do (but have obviously never been able to because of money, time, and lack of a valid driver’s license): travel across the country.
get in the car (and take my bike with me, too) and just go. visit each of the lower 48, and maybe go down into mexico and up into canada, too. take a camera and a sketchbook with me because i know there will be scenery and things that i can’t get here in california.
there are obviously places where i need to be careful in like the deep south and tornado alley, but… it’s something that i keep feeling, though.

Was talking about the Fairy VS walrus poll with some friends which led to "but what about a walrus dressed as a fairy?" and so this was born 😌

If I’ve learned anything in this life it’s probably “never act cocky cause life WILL clown you at some point or other”
In other words my version of what goes around comes around 🤷🏻♀️

brennan reintroducing the bad kids with genuine titles they hold in canon like “archdevil” “captain of the owlbears” & “risen saint” but adding “holder of the tin flower” to gorgug’s intro because of how gorgug offering his tin flower to fabian, even after they fought, so effectively represents the type of person gorgug is (a kind one).

(If you like specifically the diet or sugar free version of any of these, just vote for that option. Same thing for specific flavors, eg. cherry coke, or mtn dew red, etc.)

Alice Dyer is NOT Tim 2.0. Their humor is completely different. Canon Tim is incredibly different from fanon tim. He is funny sometimes, but when it comes down to it, his humor comes down to “millenial who makes the occasional pop culture reference and is jokingly flirty sometimes”. He knows what a meme is, but his meme knowledge is not that far advanced from “I can haz cheesburger” cat. He is not hip with the memes. Alice is the one who is hip with the memes. Please let this woman be cringe and let Timothy Stoker be free from the chains of comedic relief meme guy.
