INSULT TO INJURY — Platonic Arlecchino & reader
Tumblr media
i. SUMMARY: What is Arlecchino to do, when her child comes home injured? ii. CWS & NOTES: Injuries, mild descriptions of blood, mentions of violence, nothing particularly graphic. PLATONIC arlecchino & gn!reader. house of the hearth!reader. hurt/comfort. they/them pronouns used. 0.9k words. iii. A/N: HI THIS WAS FINISHED IN MY DRAFTS AND I DID NOT NOTICE... this was a suggestion from @romaritimeharbor!!
Tumblr media
Arlecchino was by no means a traditional parent, but she did share common qualities with those who were. She kissed her children’s hair when they were sick, wiping the sweat off their forehead and tucking their sheets extra tight. When they sought comfort, she would hold them close to her chest, even if her affection was rare and only offered away from all other eyes. They appeared in her thoughts constantly, even in the most mundane situations; occasionally she would find herself wondering if Lynette would enjoy a particular brand of tea, or if Freminet’s diving skills had improved in the past months.
Those outside of the House of the Hearth could never imagine a soft side to a cutthroat woman like Arlecchino, not after witnessing her ruthless ways. All they saw was the terrifying Harbinger that cut through hoards with her scythe, taking down each and every one who stands in the way of the Fatui. They would be mistaken to dismiss her as soft-hearted, but even more so to proclaim her heartless. It is simply that her heart beats for the Hearth, and nothing more.
When she settled into the role of Father, she vowed that even if the Fatui wouldn’t treat her children with love, she would. However strict she appeared, her love for the House of the Hearth was poured through every drop of blood shed in the name of the security of the Fatui. The Fatui were the foundation holding up the orphanage, and so long as it remained strong, so would their home.
It was one of her most notable traits, and one that many parents held; she would do anything to protect her children.
So when [Name] turned up at her office, bruises peeking out between the rips in their shirt and bright splatters of blood dotting their arms, she didn’t scold them for walking in without knocking. She stood, moving mechanically over to where they lingered in the doorway. She swept her gaze down their body, taking note of each and every injury. And as they looked up at her, eyes glazed over with unshed tears, she brushed her hand across their face to rid the hair sticking to the blood across their forehead and hissed, “Who did this to you?”
“I–” Whatever rasping words were almost spoken broke off in a fit of coughing. A low cry of pain spilled out, and their hand clutched their side. “Sorry, I’m sorry.”
Arlecchino looked out through the hallway, spotting a child half-hidden behind the corner, unsubtly trying to spy on the situation. They squeaked, as she caught their eye and barked out an order. “You! Go to the medical wing and bring back a first aid kit, and several ice-packs. Now.”
They scurried off, the sound of tiny footsteps growing quieter every second. Once they were inaudible, she looked back at her other child, whose eyes were drifting shut slowly. A quick touch on their shoulder sent them flinching backwards, eyes flying open.
“What happened?” She asked, ignoring the way they shrunk into themself at the question.
“I failed. I was ambushed, and they–” They shuddered, once again gripping their side. Arlecchino took note of the way they winced each time they moved too sharply; bruised ribs, if not broken. “I’m sorry, I just came to report on what happened.”
“You’re injured, [Name].” Arlecchino stressed.
“I know,” They said quietly. They didn’t even seem to have enough energy to fight the tears that have begun dripping down their cheeks. “It won’t happen again. I’ll be better.”
I don’t want you to be better, her mind screamed. I want you to be okay. Arlecchino bit her tongue hard to stop the words from pouring out. It would be unbecoming of the Director to show such earnestness in front of one of her children, especially one who had clearly suffered a failure. She may love them, as she does all of her orphans, but she was raised in the Fatui as well. She knew the cost of failure all too well.
“You will be.” Arlecchino stood back, letting them lean against the door frame again to stop themself falling over. “I’m sure you understand that there will be consequences to this.”
“I do.”
“Excellent. You will be dismissed from all missions for the next six weeks.” Six weeks, that was just long enough for injured ribs to heal, if she recalled correctly. “You will be required to remain in the House for that time, and any outings must be approved by me before you leave.”
They stared at her, eyes wide.
“Am I understood?”
“Yes, Father.” They said quickly.
She didn’t ask any more of the person who had left them in such a state, but they did cross her mind as she wrapped bandages around their arms. She could almost see them now, celebrating their victory over the Fatui. How proud they must be, to have sent one of the Knave’s own agents fleeing.
A barely noticeable grimace tore her attention away, and she forced her hands to loosen the bandages around their arm. In her quiet fury, she had begun to wrap them tighter than a tourniquet, much to their discomfort.
For that moment, she dismissed the assailant to the back of her mind, and turned all of her attention to her child.
They would come later, and then, they would learn the true meaning of fear.

right where you left me
part: 2 pairing: paige bueckers x oc word count: 2.7k c/w: mention of blood, language a/n: hey guyssss here is part two enjoy it i love you ALL!! live reactions in my inbox => ALWAYS welcome!
I wait a beat, processing. “What… did you want to talk about?”
“Us.”
My eyebrows shoot to my hairline. “Us?” I demand. “Who is us?”
Paige moves her hands between the two of us exasperatedly. “Bro. You and me. Us.”
“We haven’t been an us in three years, Bueckers.”
“I know that. I know that. I just-” She lets out a huge sigh. “I miss you, bro.”
I truly can’t help the laugh that escapes me. Not that I try. But still.
“What is funny?” She demands.
I bend over, bracing my hands on my knees. And I cackle.
“You miss me?!” I howl, clutching my sides. “Oh, that’s good. Now you miss me, okay.”
“Good to know you’re still a crazy bitch.”
“Good to know you’re still fucking stupid,” I shoot back, wiping at my eyes. Her eyes widen and I can feel a retort on the tip of her tongue, because despite everything - I know her. I cut her off before she can say a word.
“What did you think was gonna happen, Paige? You were gonna come knock on my door in the middle of the night like a fucking Taylor Swift song, and tell me you miss me, and then what? Huh? I was gonna- what, kiss you under the stars? Tell you you’re the love of my life and of course I’ll take you back?” I sneer.
She clicks her tongue irritatedly, not unaccustomed to my rants. “It’s not even like that, dude.”
My eyebrows raise again. “Oh? What is it like, then, Paige? Do tell,” I snark, crossing my arms.
“I just miss… I don’t know, being around you? Like, I hate how awkward things are between us now.”
“That’s your own damn fault.”
“Yes! Okay! It’s my fault, I get it, and I’m sorry-”
“Which part are you sorry for, Paige?” I demand. “The part where you convinced me to not only cheat on my girlfriend, but also break up with her to be with you? Or maybe it’s the part where you swore we’d be together and we’d make long distance work because, really, Michigan and Connecticut aren’t that far. No, maybe it was the part where you dumped me after I came out to my family for you because you wanted to fuck other people?” My voice is rising, and I’m stepping closer to her. We’re nearly chest to chest when I finish speaking
She searches my eyes. I don’t miss the way her gaze lingers on my lips, and suddenly there’s goosebumps all down my arms and I’m conscious of the tank top I’m wearing. “All of it. Everything. I’m sorry for hurting you. I never wanted to,” she says quietly.
I search her eyes back, my lip curling. “Cop out. Fucking cop out. You’re a coward. You were a coward then, and you’re a coward now. Go home, Paige.” I turn to walk away from her, but her hand lands in the crook of my elbow.
My knees nearly buckle. It had always been like this. Her touch had always had the power to make me crumble, and it shudders through me even now.
“Maya-”  she starts.
I shake her off. “I said fuck off.”
***************
“It’s Juilliard.”
“Well, open it.”
“I can’t”
Paige sighs, coming to crouch down next to me at my desk, lacing her fingers with mine. “Mai. I’m right here. No matter what happens, it will be fine.” I scoff at her. “That’s so easy for you to say. You’ve been committed to your dream school for almost a year.” Her face softens, blue eyes trained on mine. “You’re fucking incredible, dude. Any school who doesn’t see that doesn’t deserve you. No matter what happens when you open that letter, you’re still a badass. It’ll be okay.”
I squeeze her hand, nodding. “Yeah. You’re right. You’re right,” I say, mostly trying to convince myself. Paige places a kiss against our clasped hands and I ignore the shudder it sends through me. It’s too domestic, too intimate, and this is probably a moment I should be sharing with my actual girlfriend. “Come on. You can do it.”
I login to my admissions portal, click to view my decision and shut my eyes tight, waiting for it to load.
I hear Paige breathe next to sharply, and I open my eyes, blinking.
Dear Ms. Jacobs,
We regret to inform you…
I can’t read the rest of it. My eyes blur with tears, and sob claws its way up my throat.
I wasn’t good enough. All that work, the sweat, the tears, the hours spent in the studio - fuck all of it, because I wasn’t good enough.
“Maya,” Paige whispers. My bottom lip quivers, and the tears slip down my face. They land on the back of Paige’s hand in my lap. “Maya, baby,” she tries again, and I shake my head. My breath shudders out, and the tears are falling faster and faster now. I shake my head more indignantly, slamming my laptop shut.
A sob forces itself out of my mouth, and I bring a shaking hand to my mouth. Then the tears are really falling, streaming down my face, my whole body shaking with sobs, and I’m collapsing out of my chair into Paige’s arms. I sink into her on the floor, letting her strength support me, because God knows I have none. Her arms are firm around me, and I cry and cry and cry into her shirt, the blue of it darkening with my tears.
She presses her lips to my hairline, whispering words of reassurance against my forehead.
And though my whole world is crashing down around me, Paige is there. My Paige.
So, really - how bad could it be?
**********
“Mom!”
“Yes, honey?”
“What the hell is Paige doing here again?”
“Oh, she said she’d take Matthew to the park to play some basketball. You know how much he used to love watching her play-”
“Oh, my God!” I exclaim, stomping out of the kitchen and throwing my arms up. When the hell did she even manage to do that?
I storm out of the house, to where Paige is waiting near her car. “You better not be using my little brother to get to me, you asshole,” I warn menacingly, poking a finger into her chest. She narrows her eyes at me, and it startles me a-fucking-gain just how blue they are. She’s in a white cropped tank and mid-length blue shorts that hang off of her hips. Slowly, she pulls my finger down, wrapping her hand around it.
“Chill, Jacobs. Not everything is about you,” she says. I glare at the snark in her tone. “Ew, Maya, go change if you’re gonna come with us,” I hear my brother Matthew’s voice from behind me, a pair of Kyries hanging from his hand. I turn around to gape at him, and Paige guffaws. “Excuse you? I will take those shoes right to the store and return them-”
“Yap, yap, yap,” my brother complains, and my mouth drops open further, Paige’s laughter increasing in volume behind me.
I turn around and smack her on the stomach. “Shut up,” I hiss.
“Get in the car, kid!” Paige calls.
“Now, hang on. Where the fuck are you taking him?” I demand.
Matthew grins, running up to us. “I’m telling Mom you cussed,” he says slyly.
I make a face at him. “You’re such a little shit.”
Paige’s eyes trace over my face. “You’re sister’s a little brat, huh?” She notes, and Matthew groans in agreement. My eyes shoot to hers in shock. Brat?
She smirks at me. “You all ready?” She asks Matthew, but her eyes don’t leave mine. “You’re not taking my brother anywhere without me,” I blurt out stubbornly. What the hell? I don’t care that much. “And you’re not coming anywhere with me looking like that. Maya, you look ugly,” my brother says bluntly. “Matthew,” I warn. His attitude has really gotten worse since I’d gone to school.
“Go change,” he whines, and I look down at my old pajama pants and sleep tank, then back up to Paige. Her eyes trail up my body the same way, jaw tensing, and her tongue darts out to lick her lips. “Yeah,” she intones hoarsely. “Go change.”
I hold her gaze for a few more seconds, the heat of it addicting. When she jerks her chin back towards my house, I listen. I run inside, up to my room, changing my clothes quickly.
I run back out in an all blue workout set, a pair of leggings and tank top that are the same royal blue as Paige and my high school colors. I fling open the door to Paige’s car, hopping in. I gather my hair to clip it up into a bun but she doesn’t move. “Hello? Go?” I say sarcastically, looking at her curiously. Her eyes are trained on me already, and it makes my chest warm.
“You’re wearing that?” She asks quietly, her knuckles white as her fingers grip the steering wheel. I crinkle my nose at her. “Sorry, did you wanna pick out my outfit?”
“Do you actually just exist to make my life difficult?” She snaps.
“Just drive,” I say, rolling my eyes.
The car is quiet for the first five seconds of the drive.
Then Matthew pipes up. “You guys fight a lot.”
Paige laughs drily. “You have no idea.”
We reached the park Paige and I had stumbled into each other at last week. Paige opens her trunk, resting her hand against the trunk door up in the air as she surveys her trunk. “You should clean your car,” I say matter-of-factly. “And you should mind your own business,” she quips back, but there’s no malice to her tone. She picks a pair of shoes out of the pile building in her car, slipping out of her driving slides to lace them up.
“Matt, you got the ball?!” She calls back to my brother. He yelps in response, already running to the court.
That’s the other thing that really pissed me off about all of it. He used to worship her. It’s not like he had a dad to teach him all the things he was supposed to know. But ever since we were kids, Paige had been there.
When he was four, he scraped his knee, and she cleaned the blood up that trailed down his leg because she knew it made me squeamish. She’d cleaned it with alcohol, holding his hand through the sting, and kissed the bandage she’d placed on top of it.
When he was six, he picked up a basketball for the first time. Paige was his hero. He wanted to be just like her, and she’d spent hours with him and Drew teaching them all the fundamentals. He dragged me to her high school games, starry-eyed at watching his idol run up and down the court.
When he was eight, my mom couldn’t make it to his 3rd grade talent show. She had an emergency shift at work, and I still only had my permit. Paige had sped through perhaps three different stop signs trying to get me there on time, and she’d taken us out for milkshakes afterwards.
My jaw clenches at the memories.
I watch them together, watch her let him blatantly foul her over and over again, purposefully missing layups while he laughs that she’s going easy on him. A tear tracks down my face, and I wipe at it stubbornly.
“Hey, you good?” Paige pants, running up to me, her brows furrowed. I hope she hasn’t seen me crying. “What? Yeah. So good.” Matthew is close behind her, his water bottle in hand. I blink. “Damn. Y’all already done?”
Matthew frowns. “Are you dumb? It’s been an hour and a half.” I open my mouth to spit a retort back at him, when Paige interjects. “Hey, take it easy on your sister,” she chides, clapping him on the back. “Thank you,” I sniff. She grins at him slyly. “She’s already shit at basketball, no need to make her feel worse,” Paige smirks. I roll my eyes.
Matthew howls with laughter, high fiving her. She takes his head in the crook of her arm, ruffling his hair. “Ah, I missed you, kid,” she laughs. “Now, hang on,” I splutter. “I’m not that bad.” Paige quirks an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah? Play me then.” I scoff. “No!”
Paige backs up, dribbling the ball between her legs, and starts clucking like a chicken.
“Oh, that’s really mature,” I say loudly, crossing my arms. She doesn’t stop, and my stupid little brother joins in. “Play me!” She calls over his noises. I roll my eyes again, and she laughs. “They gon’ get stuck up there!”
“Okay, check up,” I snap finally.
I’m not awful - I played as a kid and in high school before committing to dance full time - but I’m no Paige Bueckers. I meet her at the 3-point line, gesturing for the ball. She grins, her eyebrows raised. “You sure?” I flick my wrist, gesturing for the ball again. “Don’t get all pussy on me now, Bueckers,” I tease.
It’s natural. Too natural, too instinctual, to be going back and forth with her like this.
Paige tosses me the ball, and I toss it back to her, before it lands in my hands again. I back up, dribble it out, then make a quick drive to the basket. I lay it in easily, catching it under the net, and turning to frown at her. “You’re taking it easy on purpose,” I complain, thudding the ball into her chest. She grasps onto the ball, staring down at me, her eyes searching mine. “How do you know that?” She murmurs.
I shake my head, biting back a smile. I can’t tell if the rapid beating of my heart is from the drive or from the fact that she’s this close to me, smelling clean and fresh and so Paige. “Cut the shit. Play for real,” I tell her, dropping my hands from the ball. Neither of us move, the ball the only thing between us. Then she breaks the thread connecting us, dribbling back to the perimeter.
On her drive, I grasp at her shirt, and she yelps, completing the play anyway, the ball falling deftly through the net. “Foul!” She yells at me. “You have like seven inches on me, how the fuck else am I supposed to defend you?!” I demand. Paige stares at me. Then she cracks her neck, tongue in her cheek.
When she blocks my next shot viciously, I know she’s playing for real.
As much as I hate to admit it, she’s incredibly attractive when she’s so competitive. Possession after possession, she absolutely dominates the game. It doesn’t help that my idiot brother is cheering for her the whole time, spurring her confidence on. She knocks me to the ground on the last play, yelling triumphantly in my face as she stands over me, feet on either side of my body. Her body glistens with sweat, but her smile is fucking blinding. She leans down, her chain dangling in my face. “Still not shit, huh, Jacobs?”
I grab her shirt, pulling her to the floor, and her knees land on the concrete on either side of my torso so that she’s almost straddling my body. She lurches forward with the momentum, her hands on either side of my head. Her ponytail falls down, brushing my nose. “Shut up, Bueckers,” I mumble, but I’m smiling, my eyes moving between her lips and her eyes, my hand still fisted in her shirt.
“Are you guys gonna kiss?!” Matthew calls, breaking me out of my trance. I shove her off of me and she squawks, falling to the side. “Shut up, Matthew,” I grumble, stalking past my brother and smacking him on the back of the head. Paige is on her feet now, dusting off her hands. “So sensitive,” she says mockingly, eliciting a withering look from me. She sighs, turning to my brother and holding her hands out helplessly. “Can’t take a joke,” he says, shaking his head. Paige laughs loudly, looping an arm around his shoulder and walking with him to her car.
“How do milkshakes sound?” I hear her ask him.

also sam is way more nuanced about lestat than ppl give him credit for on here 😭 like of course someone else writing about you is always going to engender an element of interpretation and we all read what we wanna read when it’s so disconnected from the person saying it but he’s not some mindless lestat apologist he’s actually very thoughtful and saying relevant things and thinking about this on a level that once you get there you’re like fuck. that’s literally so true and it’s so obvious that you’re kinda like blindsided not to have realized this already. he’s not like downplaying louis’ story or acting like louis is lying, him and jacob are actually quite similar in thinking on this i think? i just think jacob is more articulate 😭 anyway all this to say he doesn’t talk over Jacob lol theyre having a conversation. like they’re pushing e/o to think more deeply about it even though they end up with the same answer basically. in MY opinion. they’re literally just having a conversation
#It took Sam like 10 minutes to finish buffering god bless him#The conspiracies were already annoying and being pulled from thin air but now I have primary evidence mashallah#sorry I’ll stop posting but Assad is so so so so so cute like why is he an oomf I feel like we went to twitter together#Also the meme that’s like pizza so good when you don’t got a bitch in your ear saying it ain’t it’skinda me about Daniel and Armand but#In the sense that when I go only to the source and forget there are stupid ppl online I’m like okay slay queen 💅🏾 at Daniel#Delainey embodies Claudia on a level that we’ve so far only seen Jacob do with Louis#Like there are just no words#Eric was being fudanshi again re jam like Eric is so messy I fear and Jacob is so giggly and Sam is so. Well#Well Sam is a top#Also Jacob still biggest loustathead you love to see it#Ummmmm what else. Both delainey and Assad said Jacob is the one that made them feel comfortable first#He’s suuuuuuch a mom friend omg#Everyone is so obsessed with him it’s like he’s the sun and they’re all orbiting towards him#Jacob dresses like a bisexual millennial#Sam looks much better irl than on photo like it was kinda crazy to me. And his voice is way deeper than you expect#His voice sounds like a fujoshi wrote him as the seme in really really problematic yaoi where he’s a ceo and ummm plead the fifth#but such warm vibes like I told Emily the only m white man that doesn’t scare me is my psychiatrist and Sam gives the same aura#Like it’s crazy how unthreatening he feels considering that you’d expect him to be if I tried describing him abstractly#FVGGGGHVHH IM LIKE. I CAN’T SHUT UP!!!!!!#and this isn’t even getting into the freaking episode#television is so fucking back#like this is why tv was created this is why this is the correct mode through which to tell this story#Like fundamentally this is a television series. And this is what they mean when they say something is a television series#It’s going to get its flowers eventually the way breaking bad did bc the art just speaks for itself like it’s undeniable#They are really doing something special and brave and ground breaking with this#Like you know when you hear a perfect pop song and you’re like this is what the genre means but also for it to be#A perfect pop song it can’t sound like every other pop song? Like it has to have its own solid foundation that makes it distinct#this is like listening to emotion the album by crj for the first time#But even better#This is like if you knew call me maybe was a perfect song and then you go listen and realize that she has 30 more of the perfect pop song

Unexpected 4
Summary: Some unexpected visitors interrupt your morning after with Rafe.
Chapter Warning: angst, fluff, protective Rafe, Protective John B
Not beta read we die like men
WC: 1,954
OBX Masterlist - Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
When you started to wake up, it took you a minute to register where you were. The smell of Rafe hit you as you buried your face in the pillow, not wanting to face reality quite yet, but the events of last night flooded your mind, bringing you to full alertness. You sat up, noticing Rafe was no longer in bed beside you. You jumped up and grabbed the first thing you could find, which happened to be Rafe’s T-shirt and your panties and went to find him.
As you made your way down the stairs and towards the kitchen, you heard voices, causing you to pause. You could hear Rafe talking as you slowly approached the kitchen being careful not to make any noise until you could see who he was with. Topper and Kelce were standing in the kitchen, with Rafe bitching about how he blew them off last night. Rafe rolled his eyes and tried to shrug them off. “I had something I needed to take care of. Let it go.” Kelce shook his head. “What was so damn important that you bailed without saying a word?” Rafe shook his head, but before he could respond, Topper cut in. "Yeah, what was it? Was it actually something important, or did you run off to get your dick wet and just didn’t want to tell us?” That caused Kelce to start chuckling, but when Rafe didn’t respond and just rolled his eyes, Topper slapped the back of his hand against Kelce’s chest. “No way! You actually ditched us for a piece of ass! Who was it? I hope, whoever it was, that she was at least worth it, dude. Was it Anna again? I know she’s been trying to hop back on your dick for months.” You felt your stomach drop as the conversation went on, but your feet seemed glued to the floor. Rafe sighed. "No, it wasn’t fucking Anna! Can you just let this shit go?” Kelce laughed, “Come on, man, just tell us who it was. Here, let me guess.” When Kelce started throwing out names, Rafe just shook his head in exasperation, but when your name left Kelce’s lips, Rafe seemed to freeze up for a moment. Topper immediately noticed. “No fuckin way! You actually fucked Y/N?” Rafe visibly tensed, but Topper didn’t seem to notice and kept going while Kelce chuckled, waiting for Rafe to admit it. “Was she good? I can’t believe you actually nailed Maybank’s girl. I thought for sure she was a stuck-up bitch.” Rafe tensed with each word that left Toppers mouth, but Topper seemed to be oblivious as he kept going. “Now that you hit that, do you mind if I take a shot? She looks like she would be a freak once you get her drunk enough.” Before Topper even finished the sentence, Rafe grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall. “Shut your fucking mouth! Don’t you ever talk about her like that again, or I’ll break your fucking jaw. Do you understand me?” Topper raised his hands in surrender, and as soon as Rafe released his grip on his throat, Topper and Kelce left out the back door. Rafe sighed, leaning back against the counter and wiped his hand down his face.
You finally found the ability to move from where your feet seemed to be cemented to the floor. As you moved, Rafe’s head snapped up, his eyes widening as he saw you. “How much of that did you hear?” You shrugged your shoulders. “Enough to know your friends are even bigger assholes than I originally thought.” Rafe seemed to deflate at that as he sighed. “I’m sorry you heard that. Top’s an idiot. I was just trying to get them to leave before you woke up, but obviously that didn’t happen.” Rafe reached out and grabbed your hand, linking your fingers together and pulling you into his body. You buried your face in his chest. “Thanks for shutting him up.” Rafe chuckled, causing you to look up into his eyes. "Yeah, well, he shouldn’t be talking about my girl like that anyway.” Shock was the only way to describe what you were feeling. “Your girl?” Rafe smiled down at you laughing at your reaction. “Well yeah, I don’t make a habit of giving my clothes to random people, and I definitely don’t let just anyone stay the night in my bed.” You ducked your head as heat crossed your face, and your eyes caught on the bracelet you had made wrapped around Rafe’s wrist. Butterflies erupted in your stomach as you surged up and connected your lips with Rafe’s.
You and Rafe spent the majority of the day lounging around the house and out by the pool. He was laid out on one of the sun chairs in nothing but a pair of board shorts and the sight was making your mouth water. You couldn’t keep your eyes off the ridges of his body. The man was driving you crazy, and he wasn’t even trying. The smug smirk on his face said he knew what he was doing to you, even though his eyes were closed. You wanted to wipe that smug smile off his gorgeous face, so you quietly dipped your empty glass into the pool, filling it with cool water. As quietly as you could, you tiptoed up to Rafe and dumped the cold liquid directly on his chest. Rafe’s eyes shot open, he yelped from the sudden cold as he launched out of the chair. This sent you into a fit of giggles as you immediately ran for your life. Rafe chased you into the house catching you around the waist at the base of the stairs. Swinging you around, you screamed, and uncontrollable laughter fell from your lips as he turned you around in his arms. He pressed you to his now damp, naked torso as he leaned over you and kissed you, his hands sliding up under his shirt on your body. You were so wrapped up in each other that neither of you heard the front door open or the voices coming towards you until you heard two separate voices scream, “What the fuck? Y/N! Rafe!”
Startled, you whipped around as Rafe quickly shoved you behind his body to block you from whoever was yelling, but then you made eye contact with a very traumatized Sarah and a shocked-looking John B. All at once they both started yelling. You tried to talk, but Rafe ended up yelling over everyone. “Enough! Just shut the fuck up for like 5 seconds!” Everyone abruptly stopped talking. "Clearly, we need to talk, but that can’t happen if everyone is freaking the fuck out. Go wait in the kitchen.” Sarah opened her mouth to protest, but Rafe’s glare shut her up as she grabbed John B’s hand and dragged him off towards the kitchen. Turning around, Rafe cupped your face, bringing your eyes up to meet his. His thumb swiped at the tears you didn’t even realize were falling. "Listen, I know we haven’t talked about whether you wanted to tell your friends or not, but apparently it’s too late for that. I’m here though; I’m right here with you, and I’m not going anywhere.” You nodded your head as Rafe pulled you in, placing a kiss on your forehead. You took a few moments to go up to Rafe’s room, change back into your clothes from the night before, and calm down.
Making your way into the kitchen, you steeled yourself for the inevitable argument you were sure would happen. You knew your friends wouldn’t take you being with Rafe well, but you had hoped to get the opportunity to break it to them gently. As you entered the kitchen, Sarah was yelling, and John B was almost directly in Rafe’s face. You quickly walked in and grabbed John B by the arm. “Outside now!” You drug John B away from a rather unfazed Rafe. You figured he could talk to his sister while you talked John B down. As soon as you made it out on the patio, John B ripped his arm out of your grip, causing you to turn and face him. “What the hell, Y/N? Rafe! Really? Out of everyone you could have hooked up with, it had to be Rafe.” Rolling your eyes, you sighed. “Look B I know it’s not ideal, but I really like him.” John B scoffed, “He’s a fucking asshole. How could you like him? You know what he’s like!” You snapped “You don’t know what he’s like! Ok, yes, you guys have had your run-ins in the past, but he was there for me after everything with JJ, and he has never been anything but nice to me! Can he be an asshole? Yes! But you and JJ are just as bad as he is! You can’t act like you have no fault in your shared past.” Hearing you yell at him caused John B to deflate a little, especially when you mentioned Rafe had been there for you when JJ had hurt you. He knew how badly you had been hurt, but he didn’t realize that Rafe was one of the reasons you seemed to be doing better. John B grabbed your hand and pulled you into a bone-crushing hug. “I’m sorry, Y/N/N. I don’t like it, but if he really does make you happy, then I guess I can try to get used to it. But you are going to have to tell the rest of the guys.” You winced at the idea of having to tell the others; knowing them, they would more than likely freak out, just like John B and Sarah had, especially JJ. “I know. I’ll talk to them. Just in my own time.” Shaking his head, he sighed. “Just….really? Rafe? Out of everyone on the island, you went for Rafe Cameron.” Laughing at his dramatics, you punched him in the arm. "Yeah, well, what can I say? The Cameron’s are hot. I mean, you did dip your stick in the Cameron pond first.” John B busted out laughing and shaking his head at your response as you went to head back inside.
You and John B made your way back into the kitchen, where Sarah and Rafe were watching you through the glass doors. John B immediately walked over to Rafe and poked a finger in his chest. “If you hurt her, I will feed your ass to the gators.” Rafe smirked at John B’s attempt at giving him a shovel talk. “Noted.” You rolled your eyes at the two of them. “I'm going to go grab my board really quick and catch a ride home with them. I have a shift tomorrow morning anyway.” As you left the kitchen, you heard Sarah talking to Rafe. “So you actually give a shit about her? This isn’t just some sick joke to you.” Rafe scoffed "Yes, I genuinely care about her, ok? Now fuck off with it. I’ve been properly interrogated and threatened.” As you made your way downstairs, you went out the front door and headed towards the twinkie, where John B and Sarah were waiting for you. You called out a quick goodbye to Rafe, but as you went to walk past him in the driveway, Rafe snatched your arm, pulling you back into a bruising kiss. You could hear John B and Sarah making exaggerated gagging noises, causing you to chuckle and pull away from your boyfriend. You couldn’t wipe the smile from your face as you promised to text him later. You crawled into the twinkie feeling optimistic, and headed towards home.

Hey I was wondering if you could write a crosshair x reader where they have a lazy morning maybe with batcher too.
Lazy Morning
Summary: You decide to sleep in on your day off. It leads to a very relaxing day with the love of your life.
Pairing: TBB Crosshair x F!Reader
Word Count: 1087
Warnings: None
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni @imabeautifulbutterfly
A/N: I started writing this ages ago and then put it on pause, before continuing it today and I have no idea where I was originally going with the story, so I'm sorry if the vibes changes midstory. The only problem now is that I want to lounge by the pool. Alas, there is no pool.
Tumblr media
It’s early, though not so early that the sun isn’t high in the sky, and you groan in annoyance when the bright morning sun hits your face, waking you from your very nice sleep.
Wait.
You’re fairly certain that you shut the curtain before you fell asleep last night.
You crack open a singular eye just as something large and heavy lands on the bed, and then you yelp as the solid mass of muscle flops next to you. “Batcher-?”
The lurca hound releases a happy little noise and buries her head under your pillows and blankets.
You groan and roll onto your back, flinging your arm over your eyes, “Crosshair? Why is your dog in my bed?”
“I’m fairly certain it’s our bed, angel.” Crosshair replies from somewhere on the other side of the room, near the door. He’s probably the one who opened the curtain too.
“You don’t live here, leech.” You counter without any heat in your voice.
“Rude, and I went through all of the trouble of making caf and breakfast for you. But, since you aren’t interested-”
“I hate you. What did you make?” You ask as you slowly sit up and squint at the man leaning against the door frame, “And how’d you get in anyway?”
“I made a quiche-” You shoot him a look, and he rolls his eyes, “Believe it or not, I am capable of following instructions from a recipe.”
“Yeah, but normally people start with, like, pancakes. They don’t tend to jump to quiches.” You reply as you swing your legs off the bed and stretch your arms over your head, “And you didn’t answer how you got in the house.”
“I picked the lock.”
“Cross!”
“Hey, you don’t want me to pick the lock, then give me a key.”
“Ugh, I haven’t had a copy made yet. I’m working on it.” You pad over to him, yawning widely, and then you thump your head against his chest, “Why’re you and Batcher over here anyway.”
“My brothers are annoying.” Crosshair replies as he sets his hand between your shoulder blades, “I needed some quiet.”
“Mm,” You slide your arms around his waist, “And you decided to make breakfast for me while enjoying the quiet?”
You feel him shrug, “You deserve to be spoiled. Maybe.” He says, his hand sliding up to rest lightly at the back of your neck.
“Maybe?” You ask with a laugh.
“I do have a reputation, kitten.”
“Yeah, yeah. I remember.” You rub your nose against his chest, allowing the sharp scent of Crosshair to fill your lungs, and then you pull back slightly, “Thank you for making breakfast, I appreciate it.”
“You’re welcome,” He lightly rubs the back of your neck with his thumb, a small, slightly crooked, smile on his lips. “It still needs to cook for a bit, so you have time enough to shower and wake up.”
You hum thoughtfully, “Yeah, I might do that.” You lean in to brush your lips against his jaw, only to giggle as he ducks his head to kiss you properly. You lightly trail your fingers against his jawline, “Good morning, Crosshair.”
“Mm, it is a good morning now,” He murmurs, before he drops one more kiss against your lips, “Go take your shower, I’m going back to the kitchen. Batcher, off!” The dog whines but jumps off your bed, dragging your comforter with her.
You sigh, and Crosshair chuckles, “I’ll handle it, kitten. I’m planning on spending the day lounging by your pool, so maybe grab a swimsuit.”
“You just want to watch me parade around for you in a bikini.”
“Yeah, of course.”
You huff, though there’s no heat, and you lightly kiss him one more time before you meander over to your dresser to dig out your swimsuit, “Why do you want to use the pool when we live on an island?”
“Uh, there are people at the beach, and there aren’t people here. Besides, you’re the one who owns a pool in spite of living on a tropical island.”
You scowl at him as you pull out your bathing suit, “I didn’t build the pool, the house came with it.”
“You still bought it.”
“Inherited it.”
“Same difference.” He walks over to you and tugs your bikini out of your hands, before pulling a different one out of your dresser, “Wear this one.”
“...this is white.”
“I know what I’m about, kitten.”
“You’re such a man sometimes,” You take the bikini though and turn towards the bathroom, “I’ll be down shortly.”
“I’ll be waiting.”
Fifteen minutes later, you step into the kitchen, clad in the white bikini and a sarong hung low around your hips. Crosshair offers you an appreciative whistle, before he tosses a ball out the back door for Batcher to chase.
“Prettier than a sunset,” He praises, a small smirk on his lips.
“Only because I’m wearing this thing,” You counter as you walk over to him and lightly pluck his toothpick out of his mouth.
“You could take it off, I won’t complain.” He drawls with an appreciative drag of his eyes down your body.
You point at him with his toothpick, “Pervert.”
“Guilty as charged.” He pushes your hand away and stands so he’s able to catch your lips in a kiss, “I opened the umbrella and put your breakfast on the table outside already. I also put out towels for us, as well as the sunblock.”
“Well, you have everything in hand, don’t you?”
“All that’s left to finish the perfect morning, is you sprawled out in the sun.” Crosshair replies.
You laugh softly, “Well then, who am I to deny you?” His arms snake around your waist and he tugs at the knot holding the sarong in place.
“You’re not going to need this, kitten. It’ll just get dirty.”
“And I’m sure it has nothing to do with wanting to see my legs.”
“Of course not.”
“Uh-huh.” You slide your hands up his chest and then wrap your arms around his neck, “It’s a good thing that I actually like your attention.”
“Oh, how much do you like my attention?” Crosshair asks as he bumps his forehead against yours.
“Enough that I’m considering inviting you to spend the night.”
He chuckles, “Well then, I’d better behave so you don’t change your mind.”
And you laugh one more time, before you pull him down into a kiss, leaning your weight against him. He’s right about one thing, this is definitely the perfect morning.

Pretty When You Cry
Tumblr media
Warnings: Smut, dacryphilia, fingering, pussy slapping, p in v sex, profanity, all porn no plot (Like I’m talking immediate smut. What can I say? I was feeling a little whoreish last night)
Overview: You just couldn't help it, you couldn't wait til he got home. Now you have to face the consequences.
Word Count: 900 (Short and sweet for you guys today)
Coriolanus had you bent over his lap; his digits pumping in and out of your drenched pussy. He had caught you fingering yourself when you promised him you’d wait for him to return home from the rounds he made as a peacekeeper in District 12. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you moaned. “Such a fucking slut, couldn’t wait til I got home hm?”
“I-I’m sorry Coryo—” He cut you off with a swift slap to your cunt.
“No, you don’t get to call me that right now. Only good girls get to call me that, right now you’re acting like a greedy whore. Try again.” He spat.
You whimpered as you squeezed your eyes shut tight as the stinging sensation lingered on your cunt. “I-I’m sorry sir!” You yelped, tears brimming in your eyes.
“So desperate you couldn’t wait til I got home, hm?” Coriolanus jeered as he easily plunged his fingers back into your cunt. You tried to babble some form of apology to him but your repertoire of words disappeared as he thrust his digits quickly within you. “Already have you fucked dumb and I haven’t even used my cock.” Your eyes rolled back as he degraded you, moaning loudly. Coriolanus suddenly pulled his fingers from you, leaving your pussy clenching around nothing. You let out a pathetic yelp as he suddenly tugged you by your hair to pull you off of his lap.
“Here’s what you’re going to do for me,” he said, glowering at you, “you’re gonna ride my cock until I cum. If you do a good enough job I’ll let you cum too, you understand?” For a moment you didn’t respond, you were still dazed from the brutal pace he fingered you at. He gave your face a light slap. “I asked you a question.” He reminded firmly.
“I-I understand.” You managed to stutter out. Coriolanus unzipped his trousers and tugged them down, his erection sprang up as soon as he tugged his boxers down as well. You blushed and looked away for a moment.
“Don’t act shy now, we both know how much of a whore you are.” He said huskily. You slowly straddled him and sank down on his cock, letting out a shameless moan. You had been waiting for this all day. Coriolanus let out a ragged breath as you started to move your hips, grinding down on him. “That’s it, that’s a good fucking slut.” He hissed as he gripped your hips.
You started bouncing faster on his cock, gripping his shoulders to steady yourself. “Come on, you can do better than that baby, we both know that.” Coriolanus teased. You let out a whine as you picked up the pace. You started clenching your muscles to squeeze his cock tighter. He let out a low groan as he tightened his grip on you. He started moving you up and down to help you keep that brutal pace that he loved so much. “That’s it, take it like the needy bitch you are.” He grunted. Tears flowed freely down your cheeks as he used your aching cunt.
God, you loved when he degraded you. He was right too, you were a slut. His slut and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You tried to lean down to kiss him, however he tugged your hair back to stop you. “No, sluts don’t get kisses. Make me cum first.” He commanded.
You let out a sob but kept bouncing on his cock. “P-Please I need to cum, please let me!” You cried.
You looked down at him with those pretty tear filled eyes of yours. He felt himself twitch as you gazed at him with pleading eyes as you rode his cock. He reached down and started rubbing quick circles around your clit. He let out a deep groan as he came deep inside you. “Good fucking girl. Good girl, go ahead and come for me.”
You felt your eyes roll back at his praise. That coupled with feeling him rubbing circles around your clit had you seeing stars. You let out a broken moan as you came undone around him. “Good girl, you deserve it for making me feel so good.” He praised.
You both caught your breath as you sat together. He had his arms wrapped around you, holding you close to his chest. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Did such a good job, baby.”
You nuzzled against his chest, and finally, you lifted your head. “Can I get my kiss now?” You asked.
Coriolanus chuckled and tipped your chin up further. He kissed you deeply, running his hand through your hair as he did. “Naturally. You were such a good girl for me weren’t you?” He said.
You wrapped your arms around his neck as you nuzzled your face in the crook of his neck. “I’m sorry I didn’t wait for you…I just missed you so much Coryo.” You admitted shyly.
He chuckled and kissed the top of your head once more. “I understand that but I don’t want to miss all the fun.”
"I won't do it again Coryo, promise!" You said with a little nod.
"Somehow I highly doubt that." He mumbled into your hair with a smirk.

Okay…tulips are in the top three…I’ll remember that.” “So…uhm do you want to come…uh inside?” “Right now?” “Uh yeah? Only if you want? I don’t-” “I’m sorry I didn’t mean for it to sound like I don’t want to…I just have an early morning-” “it’s okay…I get it…uhm can..can I ask you something?” “Of course…what’s on your mind sweetheart?” “Do you find me attractive?” “Excuse me?” “Like…do you…think I’m cute?” “Cute?” “Yes?…” “No…cute is for jr high school crushes…you’re beautiful.” “Oh..uhm thank..you.” “I’m sorry I clearly don’t make that known to you enough…I’ll work on that.” “You don’t have to uh tell me I’m like…beautiful all the time it’s..okay but uhm so…if you think I’m…pretty or uh whatever…how come you…haven’t tried…anything?” “Tried anything?….oh…ohhhh right…well I just didn’t know that was something you wanted from me?” “I just assumed it was part of the…arrangement?” “And if it wasn’t? Would that…change things for you?” “No no it wouldn’t change anything I was just wondering if that’s something…uh…you wanted…out of this?” “Sweetheart you should know me well enough by now to at least know out of all of this I just want to make you happy…you just have to help me learn how.” “But would…that…kind of stuff…make you happy too?” “Uh..yes.” “Why’d you hesitate?…you hesitated with the yes.” “I didn’t want to seem too eager but yes…I wouldn’t mind that kind of stuff being added to our…relationship but please understand I do not want you to do anything that will make you feel uncountable or that you’ll regret okay?” “Okay…I understand.” “Good.” “We can take it slow…like you hold my hand a lot now so maybe we can uhm…like kiss? Sometimes? Maybe?” “Are you trying to ask me to kiss you?” “Yes…does it count as our first kiss if I had to ask for it?” “I’ll let you decide after we kiss how does that sound?” “Sounds-” “Sorry you just kept biting your lip and-” “it counts…that totally counts…holy shit.” “It was good then?” “Shut up you know it was good you did that hand thing.” “Hand thing?” “Yeah you grabbed my whole face with your big…nice..warm man hands and kissed me…I need to go take a shower…can I get one more? For scientific purposes?” “Well yeah…anything for science.” “God how do you just…kiss people like that?…you’re so not fucking real…” “goodnight sweetheart…I had a great time tonight.” “Goodnight Eddie…text me when you get home please.” “I will.” “See you tomorrow?” “Sure I’ll stop by the Video store and bring you some lunch.” “Perfect.” “You want another one don’t you?” “No…maybe?…yes..” “last one then you’re going inside and getting ready for bed.” “Wait till I tell Steven how good of a kisser you are.” “Goodnight baby…” “goodnight Eddie.”

Joel has the nerve to look sheepish when you storm into the house, door smacking against the drywall. You fumble when you try to grab for the edge of it, eventually grasping and slamming it closed.
“You lied to me,” you said, low and dangerous, heart thrumming with all you’ve been told. You clasp at your chest for a moment, sure that your hand will come back red.
You let the accusation hang, daring him to grab it and throw it aside.
But he doesn’t. He can’t. He knows he’s been flayed and left open to burn.
“I lied to everybody,” he says after minutes have crept by.
“You lied to me,” you snarl. The corner of your lip jerks, an involuntary sneer. You’d trained yourself to do it in the dingy mirror of your first Boston apartment, holding the other side down until you looked as nasty and tough as the rest of them.
It worked. It was just a twitch now, unstoppable, popping up when you needed it, whether or not you wanted it.
Oh, but you do right now. You want it. You want him to see the way you’re rethinking this whole fucking situation.
“I had to,” he says.
“Oh, fuck off. I trusted you.”
“I never asked ya to,” he snaps. There he goes. There’s the Joel you know and thought you loved.
The fight slips from your fists, unfurling and folding over your chest instead. “You’re right. You didn’t.”
He doesn’t stop you when you go upstairs, but oh, does he wish he had when you come back down a few minutes later. His brain almost doesn’t put it together; the sight of your backpack straps so incongruous with your life here in Jackson.
“What—” he starts, but you don’t let him finish.
“Don’t. I’ll come back by in a few days. And you can think about if it was fuckin’ worth it, Joel.”
“Worth it to save her life?”
“For fucks sake, Joel, I’m not mad you did it! Jesus, is that what you think of me?”
You had been trying to keep quiet before, but that’s dead and buried. He raises his voice to match.
“How the hell am I supposed to know what you’re thinkin’?”
“You’re supposed to talk to me, Joel! You’re supposed to tell me shit. You tell me when there’s chili at the hall, you tell me when Tommy has a stomachache, but you can’t fuckin’ tell me how close it came? Can’t tell me what you had to do to save that girl? To bring her home?”
It’s too late. He’s shut down; you can see it. “I ain’t sorry. About any of it,” he says, and it’s clear and crisp, but you feel like it filters in from across town, something too distant to be sure what you heard.
But you know.
“Figure out if it was worth it to lose both of us,” you snarl before you can stop. And it does exactly what you meant it to. It whips across his face like a snowball packed with ice.
His own sneer twitches to meet yours. You think you might burst if you stay there too long, held perfectly still between him and the door. Might spill more words you don’t want to watch him hear, might throw and shatter the vase on the foyer table, might break down into tears.
Part of you wants to break, to give in, to try to pull the confession from him and pray he didn’t mean it. That he wants you to trust him. That he is sorry.
But you leave, and when you hear the door slam after you’re down the road, you don’t turn back.
You don’t cry until he opens the door, brows knitted together in confusion.
“What’re you doin’ here this late?”
But your lip trembles. “Tommy—” you start, and it breaks into a crackling, shaky breath. “Did you know?”
Tommy pulls you in for a hug. “Shit,” he says quietly. “No. Just this morning, too. C’mon."
Tumblr media
You’re reading in bed when you hear them.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea. She seemed awfully upset, and I think she’s already asleep.” Tommy’s voice carries easily up the stairs. He’s not a quiet kind of man.
“Jus’ let me talk to her for a minute,” Joel says.
You hold your place in the book with a finger shut between the pages, waiting to see who wins this round. It’s a toss-up, really, for who’ll crack. They’re both stubborn as all hell.
I mean it, Joel,” Tommy says firmly but kindly. “She was cryin’ all evening and she just finally fell asleep.”
“Fuckin’ hell,” Joel says. “Fine.”
You hear the slow creak of the door and heave a shaky sigh, unable to tell the difference between the relief and disappointment.
He had come looking for you. You hadn’t expected that, not really.
But of course, you don’t get to go Miller-free for the night. Tommy knocks shortly after.
“Hey,” he gives a weak half-smile. “So, how much of that did you hear?”
“All of it,” you admit.
“He seemed pretty upset,” Tommy says. He sits on the edge of the bed.
“Good,” you mutter, scowling.
“I just—look, I don’t want you to think I’m pickin’ teams. But y’all worked hard for what you’ve got. It’d be a shame if ya walked away from it.”
You sigh and lean back against the headboard. “I know. But he really hurt me this time. I trusted him.”
Tommy sighs. “I hear ya. I didn’t know, either. He really didn’t tell anybody. I think he was plannin’ on takin’ it to the grave.”
You know, because you know Joel. You know he didn’t want to put you in a hard place between him and Ellie. Didn’t want to ask you to shoulder his decision. And you know you’re going to forgive him. Maybe not today. But it’s already settling in your bones.
Tumblr media
Joel meets you in the foyer. He must have heard you coming up the porch. You slip in and shut the door before just… standing there.  Just as you had three days ago.
“Sweetheart,” Joel starts, and with it, takes all your resolve.
You sniffle.
“Don’t cry,” he pleads, but it just tips the tears over the crest of your eyes anyway.
You let him fold you into his arms, one hand cupping the back of your head to hold you against his chest. Your fingers twine into the soft green flannel, the lingering cinnamon and wood smoke as soothing as ever.
But as soon as you’ve pulled it together, you extract yourself. “We’re going to have to talk about it,” you say to the button on his breast pocket.
He tilts your chin up with two curled fingers. “I know. You gotta promise you’re gonna hear me out this time.”
You nod and before you can speak, he’s kissing you, one hand soft against your cheek.
“Don’t ever do that to me again, ya hear me?” he murmurs against your lips. “Don’t run away.”
“Don’t you do that to me again,” you retort, but there’s little fire behind it as you lean up to kiss him again.
He’s sweet from the honey he puts in your tea. He always tastes it before he gives it to you.
“Hang on, how’d you know I was coming home?”
He grimaces. “Didn’t.”
“But—“
“Shut up.” It’s not sharp, but embarrassed. His cheeks are a little flushed.
You can’t help the fond smile. “What a sap you are, Miller.”
He kisses you again, unable to stay parted for long. “M’serious,” he murmurs. “Don’t run away. Y’can be mad at me all you want, but do it here.”
“I am mad,” you say quietly.
“I know,” he says, pulling your head against his chest and holding it there under his wide palm. “I deserve it.”
“Yeah,” you nod, but there’s no heat behind it. “You’re an ass.”
“M’your ass.”
“No, this is my ass,” you wiggle a little.
“Now see, that’s where you’re wrong, sweetheart,” he gives it a hard smack, squeezing with his wide palm. “This is all mine. Said so yourself.”
It’s as if you blew out a candle, the way his eyes have gone dark and encompassing. You can’t help but moan a little, and his lips quirk up at the corner.
“Right?” he prompts, backing you over to the couch.
“Uh-huh,” you squeak as he lies you down, tugging your sweatpants down as he goes.
His fingers slide down and cup over your cunt, pushing your body close between his legs. “And this greedy little pussy is mine.” He wastes no time in pressing inside you, giving you no room or breath to adjust to his cock.
His hand slides back up to brush along the side of your breast. “Pretty tits just for me,” he murmurs in your ear, tweaking a nipple to hear you whine. His voice has gone low and rich, his Texas twang a little thicker.
His thumb rests on your lower lip. “Perfect, eager mouth.” He pulls his thumb away right as you try to suck on it and replaces it with his lips, tongue dipping in to taste you.
“Hmm? Anyone home?” he taunts.
The sound you make is more like a strangled balloon than an actual word, and he chuckles.
“See? I know what you need, sweetheart. All of you is mine,” he murmurs against your lips, pulling out torturously slow and pressing back in until your hips are flush.
“Fuck, Joel, please,” you whine. You want to be mad that he’s distracted you from being mad, but, well… it’s working.
The thick emotions of it all don’t leave so easily. Your throat is clogged with it, his breath is heavy with it, and the way he works at your clit is an apology on repeat.
Until it isn’t anymore. Until it’s less “I’m sorry” and more desperation. You’re writhing a little beneath him, the ache at a breaking point, pleading for him to push you over the edge he’s brought you to again and again and again.
“No,” he pants. “Not until you promise. Promise you won’t leave.”
“I’m not,” you nearly sob. “Joel.”
It’s the way you cry his name. He can’t keep pushing you; he pulls all the way out and drops to his knees on the living room floor, burying his face in your cunt with all the fervor he’s been fucking into you.
He goes straight for your clit, three fingers in your cunt, and wrings you dry over and over before he relents and plunges his cock back in you to the hilt, setting a punishing pace, though you aren’t sure which one of you is being punished by it.
Maybe both, but in reality, neither, since he comes deep inside you moments later.
It’s not the first time, but it is rare for him to slip up that way. Still, you think nothing of it, given how low the chances are.
Tumblr media
Lulu is born in the peak of July. It’s hotter than hell and you’re glad that Ellie had gone with the other kids on the trip to the lake. It had been the reason you stayed behind, originally planning to go along with Maria and Alé.
Joel hadn’t wanted you to go at all. It wasn’t far and even though you weren’t due for another month, he didn’t like it.
The due date was kind of made up, though. It was really up to you and Joel counting on your fingers to see if you remembered the last time you had a period.
Not that your period was very consistent to begin with.
His eyebrows had climbed higher and higher as you went back a week at a time to see if either of you could associate an event with it, like if he had fucked you in the ass for a few days or something.
He had, but really, that wasn’t a great predictor, since he was still coming home from patrol riled up the way he used to in Boston. For the sake of your poor, well-loved cunt, you mixed it up a lot.
You waited another four weeks before going to see Alice at the clinic.
After she confirmed what you frankly already knew, you tried to talk to Ellie.
Tumblr media
The first time you visited the shed, you almost chickened out, rocking back and forth on your heels while you waited outside. She cracked the door open, mouth twisted until she saw you.
“Hey!” She gave you a hug, and you held her as long as she allowed (which wasn’t long; she was a teenager, after all). “Wanna come in?”
“Sure, kiddo, I’d love to see what you’ve done with the place.”
She beams and lets you in, shutting the door behind her to keep out the late autumn breeze.
You’re not sure what you were expecting. You had feared something bare and cold, where she’d be lonely all winter. But the space is all Ellie. You look over, and she’s clearly bracing herself for your judgment.
“This is so cool,” you tell her, and she lights up. You drink in her toothy, genuine grin, and decide this is not the time.
“You think so?” she says.
“Kiddo, I would have killed to have a place like this when I was your age. I had a treehouse, but that was nothing compared to this. Where’d you get all this stuff?”
“I traded around town for it; you know I’ve been—” and she stops, smile gone. “Well. I guess you don’t know. I’ve been doing some jobs after school in exchange for cool stuff.”
She’s guarded again, maybe expecting you to tell her off or nag at her for not telling you.
“That’s great, kiddo. That was a clever idea. What kind of stuff have you been doing?”
You end up on the couch while she sits on her bed across the room. You don’t think the space is intentional, but you don’t want to cross it in case it is.
She tells you about babysitting and cleaning, helping other residents with their jobs in the gardens and the stables. She shows you some of her prizes as she goes, gushing over a thick astronomy textbook. It’s beyond your knowledge level, but she’s clearly been devouring every word. Its real value, she says, is that it was printed in 2003 for some college. But the textbooks they had in the QZ were from 2001.
“Did you know that after we discovered all the moons the other planets have—like did you know Jupiter has fifty moons? They told us it was 38—and then people were getting confused about our moon being the moon, so they started calling it Luna in all these research papers. It's all so fucking cool.”
“That’s incredible, Ell. I’m so proud of you.”
It’s the wrong thing to say. Sometimes, you forget she’s still a teenager.
“Yeah, it’s whatever,” she says, shifting uncomfortably. “Did you need something?”
“No. Just wanted to see you,” you lie.
It’s the wrong thing again.
“Did Joel make you come here?”
“He doesn’t even know I’m here.” That, at least, is the truth.
“Okay,” she says.
“I—” you start, not knowing what you’re going to say, but hoping your runaway tongue will do patchwork here. But she doesn’t let you get that far.
“Hey, so, I was actually going out when you got here, so.”
“Oh, okay. Sorry to have kept you.” You believe her about as much as she believed you a minute ago, but you’re not going to push. You get up, and she lets you give her a hug, but it’s not returned very enthusiastically this time. “It was nice to see you, kiddo.”
“Yeah, um, see you later.”
When she shuts the door behind you, it feels uncomfortably final.
Tumblr media
You don’t try again for another month, when you have the excuse of Christmas to give you gumption.
When you knock, she’s slow to open. Her face is unreadable, and she crosses her arms over her chest.
“What?” she says.
You nearly shove the bundle in your arms at her. “Merry Christmas. I know it’s early, but it’s supposed to be real cold this week, and—”
Anything else you were about to word vomit catches in your throat while she opens the gift. You’re terrified she’ll reject it, reject you. You’ve been working on it for a while. Since before the fight, even, worried about her in that damn shed all winter.
This quilt is patchwork blues, different shades and patterns. Over top you’ve cut out and stitched the galaxy together for her. It’s maybe childish, but you don’t think she ever had a chance for many childish things. And it’s not nice, not like the ones they used to sell at Pottery Barn when you were a kid that your parents could never afford.
“You made this for me?” she says.
“Yeah, kiddo, of course. Sorry it’s not quite accurate, I—”
Her hug knocks the breath from you for a moment, but you hold her to you and try not to cry. It doesn’t last long, and you can see the way her conflicting feelings are making her uncomfortable. But she surprises you.
“Wanna come in?” she says.
“Oh, um. Maybe later, I’m-um, I’m on my way to dinner at Tommy’s. Do you, um. Do you want to come with us?”
The scowl is back. “You mean with you and Joel.” His name was a dirty word spat from her mouth.
“Well, yeah. We miss you, kiddo. I miss having everybody together.”
“He put you up to this.” It’s harsh and she knows it, sees the way you blink against the offense.
“I’m capable of doing things of my own accord. Is it so hard to believe that I want to see you?”
“Sorry,” she mumbles.
“S’ok,” you say glumly. “I knew it was a long shot, I just—“ and you’re mortified to find tears burning at your waterlines, “just thought I’d ask anyway. M’sorry.” You had intended to ask, and Joel knew. You just wanted to tell her so badly.
You hug again before you leave, but you have to hide in the half bath when you get to Tommy and Maria’s to weep.
Joel slips in after a few minutes. He wraps you up in his arms while you try to smother the sounds of your broken heart.
“I know, darlin’,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
You tell Tommy and Maria after dinner. Tommy picks you up and swings you around in a hug, which makes Alé giggle.
You go home first, exhausted. Joel tries to insist on going with you, but you know he needs some time with Tommy. As much as he’s trying to share Sarah with you, this is a whole different rodeo.
The light is on in the shed when you get home. You hover on the porch, wobbling between your split instincts. In the end, you go to bed.
Tumblr media
Winter passes quietly. The layers help keep your secret, but you know it’ll be harder come spring. When Maria tells you that Ellie stopped by to wish Alé an early happy birthday because she wasn’t coming to the party, you cracked again.
You pound on the door of the shed. She answers, guarded as always, and clearly surprised to find you there.
“Can I come in?” you blurt.
“Sure, yeah,” she says, and though she hesitates, she steps back to let you through.
It’s not a frigid day, as you head into spring, but you stay layered up in your winter gear. Your bump isn’t big by any means, but it’s unmistakably there. It could be passed off as weight gain, but Ellie isn’t stupid, and you aren’t about to insult her by pretending.
“Alé’s going to miss you at her party.”
Ellie shuts the door of the shed, but hovers there, arms crossed. “She’s turning three. She won’t remember.”
“You’re her family; you should be there.”
“You want her to see us fighting?”
“Ellie, please. Just come over, come have dinner. We can talk. All three of us.”
“No,” she snaps. “If all you’re going to do when you come over is try to get me to talk to Joel, stop coming.”
“I just want our family together.”
“I’m not coming over there to get lectured and have you do nothing but side with him like always. You’re too damn scared of him leaving again that you never side with me. Guess what? I can leave, too. Get out.”
“No, Ellie—”
“Just get out.”
“It’s not about him, just please give us a chance—”
She opens the door and stands there, not looking at you.
You hesitate when you reach her, but she flinches back, so you just go home.
Tumblr media
When Lulu is born, the sun rages at the apex of the horizon. Joel sends one of the neighbors for Alice, and busies himself getting everything ready while you pace the length of the upstairs hall and breathe through the pain.
He’s filling the tub when he finds you with your elbows against the wall, head down, and teeth gritted. In an instant, he’s at your side, rubbing his hand over your lower back.
“I’ve got you, darlin’,” he says, as he always does. “What do you need?”
“Just you,” you whimper. “Need you with me.”
“Okay, sweetheart, I got ya.”
It’s far too soon to push, but he helps you into the tub anyway, hoping the cool water will help since you’re flushed and sweaty. He climbs in behind you, perched on the edge with arms wrapping around the top of your chest above your breasts. His lips press up and down your neck, and he takes a rag to wipe the sweat from your face.
That’s how Alice finds you, and she nods at Joel approvingly before telling you she’ll be in and out to check on you.
Between contractions, you slump back against Joel. Alice dropped water bottles off and he coaxes you to sip while you can.
When the time comes, you’re exhausted. You can tell Alice is worried that you won’t have the strength.
Joel isn’t, though. “You’re tough,” he murmurs. “You just hold onto me and do what you need to do.”
It hurts. There’s no way around that. You push back against his chest, arching and screaming while he holds you tight. When each break comes, it’s too short. Your head flops back onto his shoulder, and he wipes you down with the cold rag again.
“You’re doing great. Fuckin’ incredible. Just a little more, baby, I promise.”
After, Joel helps you stand on shaking legs just long enough to get dry. Once you’re safely seated on the bed, feeling absolutely ridiculous in what was more or less a heavily lined cloth diaper, he helped you into one of his flannels, leaving it unbuttoned so you could nurse the baby.
The day is a blur. You’re not sure what time she was born and you’re not sure how long it is before Tommy shows up. You’ve been mostly asleep, rousing when Alice brings the baby in to eat. She’s an absolute miracle, watching over little Luna while you and Joel sleep.
“Getting rest today is critical to your success in the coming weeks,” she had said.
You sleep even better once Tommy’s there. Maria stayed back with Alé, just for today. They were coming over first thing in the morning at your insistence. But Tommy came to help with the baby and stay the night once Alice went home, as you had done for them.
It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Alice. But knowing Tommy had Luna made you feel safer than anyone, other than you and Joel.
You might have slept better still if not for the specters haunting the room.
The next time you wake, the sun has set. You can hear her cries from downstairs, and sure enough, Tommy brings her in moments later.
“Look, Lulu, your mama is up and ready for you.”
You take her into your arms and get her latched before it registers. “What did you call her?”
“Lulu! Ain’t it sweet?”
No, you think, but he has his biggest, dopiest grin on. You settle on a noncommittal hum, which you would regret later when he takes it as enthusiasm.
You go to say something, but it dies when it finally clicks that you’re alone in the bed.
“Where’s Joel?”
“He, uh—”
“Tommy.”
“He went to try to talk to Ellie. They all just got back.” He rubs the back of his neck. “Sorry, I tried to stop him—”
“No, it’s okay,” you say, closing your eyes tight for a moment. When you gently cradle Luna against your shoulder to burp her, you take a deep breath against her tiny, downy head. “He should. It’s good.”
“He didn’t need to leave you alone. I told him to wait until she got back.”
“I’m glad he didn’t. She deserves to know right away. Hell, we both tried to tell her before, but…”
The silence sits like the river in the winter—a thin, false calm on the surface. After you latch Luna on the other side and get settled, Tommy sits on the bed beside you and lets you rest your head on his shoulder.
That’s how Joel finds you when he gets back. Luna’s gone back to sleep, cradled in your arms, and Tommy’s thrown his arm around your shoulder while you cry.
“It’s normal,” he had said. “That’s what Alice told us after Alé was born. Baby blues, she called ‘em. And I think you got a real reason to be sad, anyway.”
You look up, blinking away stray tears, when Joel comes in the room. The look on his face tells you everything you need to know.
“She took one look at me and took off with Dina. I tried to call out and tell her it was real important, but she wasn’t hearin’ it,” he says once he’s crossed the room to you. He presses a kiss to you and Luna’s foreheads.
“What about me?” Tommy grumbles playfully, and Joel gives him a little kiss, too.
They both laugh. You wish you could. You think you would have. It’s right there, sitting at the bottom of your diaphragm. But it doesn’t rise, doesn’t bubble up. Instead, it goes cold and sinks down where you can’t reach.
Joel and Tommy exchange a look.
“What?” you say.
Joel just shakes his head and lifts Luna from your arms to place her in the crib. “Let’s get some sleep, sweetheart.”
“I’ll be just across the hall,” Tommy says, tipping his head and shutting the door quietly behind him.
Joel slips under the covers and wraps you up in his arms. It eases a heavy sigh from your lungs, one that trembles on the air in its own wake.
He kisses your head and tucks you in close, trailing off into soft snores. But you can’t follow. Your heavy eyes blink slow, that brief darkness the only barrier between your gaze and the crib.
Your chest is tight. It’s like icicles are forming inside your lungs. It’s a testament to how tired Joel is that he doesn’t wake when you slip out of his grasp.
The soft knit socks from Mrs. Davies muffle your shuffle across the floor. You tug the throw pillow and crocheted blanket from the armchair. The crib sits low to the ground, so you lower yourself beside it, wrapped in the itchy pastel, and watch the rise and fall of her little chest.
You don’t sleep.

“AJ! You’re out. y/n’s gonna run instead.”
“What…?” AJ looked at coach Murray, in utter disbelief. “Why?”
“Her timing’s gotten better than yours and we need to place, as you know.”
“Fine, whatever. Even though we still have plenty of time for me to train.” AJ jogged away in a huff.
You watched her leave, worried. Shit.
“Okay, y/n. Go to the starting line, you’re gonna run a few.”
“A few?”
“Yeah, a few laps to practice.” He nearly scoffs, “Go, go.”
“Alright.” You shrug, heading for the starting line as he said, then started running. The whole time, you were wondering where the heck she went off to. When you stopped for a bathroom break, you saw her sitting there by a pillar, drawing in her notebook. AJ looked up, saw you, and scooched a little further away. Sighing, you decided to leave her alone for now.
She was still there when you walked out of the bathroom. Resisting the urge to talk to her, you jogged back to the track. You didn’t see her for the rest of practice, and after practice, you couldn’t find her. You tried texting, then you tried calling. She didn’t pick up, she didn’t reply. And then her phone was switched off. “y/n? What’s wrong?” Gabi walked up behind you.
“I can’t find AJ. I tried calling and texting her but then she switched off her phone.”
“I think I have an idea for where she might be. Come on, I’ll give you a ride.”
“Okay, thanks.” You followed her to her car and she drives you a park a little ways away from their house. “She’s usually by the pond sketching after a bad day. Though now, usually she goes to you, but since that isn’t the case right now, here she is.” Gabi stops to let you get off. You spot someone sitting down on the grass by the pond. “Oh, my God. Thanks, Gabs.”
“No problem. Glad I could help.”
You approached her quietly, sitting down beside her. “Hey.”
She shifts slightly, letting you know that she was aware of your presence, but she doesn’t take her earphones off. “AJ.” You repeated. “We need to talk.”
“For what?”
“About practice.” You began, lightly tugging her earphones off.
She sighs, closing her book. “AJ, Murray’s decision— I didn’t think he would pick me to go. I just ran. I- I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry about that. You improved, that’s a good thing.” AJ looks at you, then focused back on the ducks in the pond. “I just— I don’t know, I was—”
That was something she struggled with, opening up to you about her feelings. She always kept to herself. It’s always been like this and you have been trying to get her to be more open instead of trying to shoulder everything herself. Sometimes, it works, she’s okay, she talks. Other times, like right now, she just completely shuts you off and runs away. AJ doesn’t like it that you have to see her upset, you know it but you couldn’t care less if she cried in front of you. You would just hold her and let her cry it out and whatever else she needed. Did she know that? Yes she does, she just…struggles with accepting that you’re there for her.
“Jealous?”
AJ scoffs, “Me? Jealous? Jealousy is not a word I’m familiar with.”
“Babe, that’s okay, it’s a valid emotion. Okay? I will literally pull myself out of the team if it means that you get to run the race.”
“y/n, why would you do that? You’re great at it.” She answered tearfully.
“Because, it no longer makes me happy, actually. I feel more stressed than I do relaxed when I go to practice.” You admit, “I just stayed because it looks good on my record, transcript, whatever. I can see it, you love the sport. It’s what makes you feel happy, confident, recharged.”
AJ swallowed thickly, fighting the forming tears. “I’m just used to having to be the best, y/n. My Dad expects me to be the best, that if I even slip up just one time, I feel like I failed. I feel like everyone is judging me…”
————
“Baby, I- I know it’s so hard, I know your Dad’s hard on you. But it’s me…I’m here for you no matter what. For anything.” You told her, grabbing her hand, “See, look at this. This ring- it doesn’t cost much but it means the world to me because it represents the promise that we made to each other. I wear it all the time, and so do you…it’s tiny, but important. but not as important as you being there for me, me being there for you. We’ve been through some shit. But we don’t let it take us down forever. I don’t care how bad your day is, how much you need to scream or cry, run or punch someone. I will be there with you to do that with. I’m here, let me share things with you. You’re not alone— don’t just shove everything down.”
AJ chokes on a sob and then just ended up bursting into tears. You put your arms around her as she laid her head onto your chest. “It’s okay, baby. Just let it out, okay?”
“I know, you need the reassurance. You’ve told me that. So do I, sometimes. And in the event where I can’t give it to you, remember the ring. Our promise…this conversation. Please. AJ, I love you and I care about you. I want you to remember that.” By the time you finished talking, you were in tears as well. “You’re alright, honey.” You kissed the side of her head while rubbing her back. “We’re okay.”
“I’m sorry.” She sniffled, “It was wrong of me to get jealous. It wasn’t even your fault. And I just — gave you the side eye like you chose to run in the race.”
“Baby.” You chuckled, breaking away from the embrace and tilting her head by the chin, “I don’t care about that. It happened, so what? I know you, I know you didn’t mean that. I actually found that look on your face kinda funny, and very adorable actually.”
AJ laughs a little and ends up coughing, “I…I need you to know that too, I love you no matter what. No matter how shitty of a day I might have.”
“I know that, AJ. I know.” You promised, “I think I kinda know you pretty well by now.”
She blinks, licking her lips while looking at you. Something about that look in her eyes, there was like a shift in the mood almost instantaneously. AJ’s hand travels over your shoulder and down to your upper back, gently connecting your lips with her own. Somehow, you managed to push her back enough so that she’s laid on her back on the grass. AJ chuckles, “Hey. What are you doing?”
“What were you doing?” You retorted.
“Kissing you.” She answered, eyebrows raised briefly before crashing her lips onto yours again, hand roaming your back.
“AJ, do not take off my—”
She chuckles into the kiss, mumbling an ‘okay’ and the kisses don’t stop. “I love you.” She combs a hand through your hair while you now laid your head on her chest.
“I love you too, baby.” You replied, finger tracing her chest randomly.
“Maybe we should go…” She remarked, hand still massaging your scalp.
“Why?”
“It’s starting to get kinda dark, aaaand I don’t want those poor ducks to see what I’m about to do to you.”
“Oh.” You gasped, eyes looking into hers, “So we’re gonna do that now?”
“If you want to, of course.” She bit back a grin.
“Hell yeah, I want to.” You snuggled closer to her for a bit, “I also wanna just cuddle with you. This feels really nice.”
“We can do that afterwards.” AJ wiggles her brows, her fingers stopping in your hair.
“Really? Okay.” You exhaled, “Okay, let’s go.”
Once you returned with AJ to her house, she leads you up to her room, smoothly locking her door. “So, you’re sure?”
“Oh, yeah.” You confirmed, arm resting on her shoulder as you leaned in to kiss her first.
“Oh, my God.” AJ mumbles into the kiss, pulling you in by the waist.
After that, you were in the shower with her. You helped her shampoo her hair and lather the soap on her body. She does the same. You loved moments like these and she does, too. Quiet, comforting intimacy after sex. AJ randomly cups her face in her hands and presses a kiss to your cheeks then all over your face. It made you giggle, and she smiles. “You’re so cute.” AJ says while brushing the hair out of your face.
“Have you looked in the mirror, babe? You’re fucking adorable.” You held her chin, puckering up your lips and she kisses you again as expected.
“The mirror? I just did. Like, 10 minutes ago when you were trying to—”
“Let’s not.” You put a finger to her lips, “I’m too tired for another round.”
She had a tiny smirk on her face that turned into a sweet smile as she shut the water off, “Okay.”
Once you two stepped out of the shower, she quickly hands you a towel to dry yourself off with. AJ did the same then went over to her dresser to get a change of clothes- for her and for you. She got dressed in a comfy muscle tank and sport shorts, and you then put on the t-shirt and shorts she laid out for you. You climbed back into bed with her, immediately snuggling up against her with your head on her chest. “Sleepy, babe?” Her hand was on your back, the warmth comforting you,
You nodded, humming in response. “Jealousy is so hot on you, if I’m being honest.”
“Oh, is it?” She guffawed, patting your back to lull you to sleep.
“Just try not to tire me out so much all the time.” You mentioned that so casually, it made her giggle again. “Okay, beautiful.” AJ smiled to herself, “I promise. Get some rest.”

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
“Is this something we are meant to do?”
“Fuck it.”
Alyia’s pov:
“Are you going to go to that band thing then?” Jenny’s words simply go in one ear and out the other, all my focus being on the situation rather than her advice. “Ally.”
I peel my eyes away from the poster for a moment only so that I can look at Jenny, however, I immediately look back down when she glares at me. She stops staring just so that she can return to her locker and rearranging a few books.
“Sorry, I’m just thinking.” My eyes trace back down to the piece of paper that was in front of me, the number on the bottom drawing my attention each time.
“Why are you so nervous, you’re rarely nervous.” Jenny’s statement makes me sigh deeply and rub my face lightly.
“I don’t know, I guess it’s from being so used to practicing alone rather than with other people.”
“Except Matt.”
“Yeah…except Matt but you know what I mean. He’s different y’know, I’ve gotten used to him.” Immediately Jenny moves her head from behind her locker door and pushes it to, so that she can look at me.
“Sometimes I wish you could hear yourself talk to me.” Her eyes roll at me before fully shutting the door to focus on the conversation with me.
“What? What did I say?”
“Look, you got used to being around Matt easily enough, you just have to do that again, I still don’t really understand the issue here.” She suddenly gasps a little making me give her a weird look.
“Are you good..?”
“Are you worried that Matt might leave you for other band mates?”
“What. No.” I say quickly and shake my head at the comment. “If Matt wants to play with other people, then he can, who am I to stop him.”
“Alyia.” She practically face palms at my sentence, leaving me confused again.
“Whatever, are you meeting up with Matt later?”
“Oh, shit I’m meant to be there now, said we were gonna try something new or whatever.” My bag strap is adjusted on my shoulder, and I shift my weight from the locker door to my feet.
“I’ll see you at lunch, yeah?” Her voice is a little louder as I start to walk down the hallways. I just wave my hand and give a quick thumbs up before walking around a corner.
Thankfully, the music room wasn’t as far from Jenny’s locker as it was from mine, but I still give Matt a quick message.
Alyia🎸:
‘Sorry I’m taking so long, I’m omw now tho.’
Matt🥁:
‘Aight bet, cya in 5’
I quickly put my phone back into my pocket and started walking to the music room, feeling a faint breeze against my skin. As I reach the room I notice an abnormal silence, unlike the previous smashing of cymbals that I have been used to. I slowly placed my hand on the cold metal and push down on the handle, pushing it open to look for Matt inside. Once my eyes scan the room around me, I realize that Matt isn’t anywhere in the room, I let my bag fall off my shoulder and onto the floor, hitting something as it falls. Matt’s bag. My face scrunches up in slight confusion, trying to figure out where he went. However, that didn’t take long, as soon as I turn my body around, I see Matt reaching the door, breathing slightly heavier than normal.
“What the fuck?” my words emit around a laugh, covering my face with my hand momentarily.
“Damn it, was hoping I would beat you.” His body leans towards the doorframe, letting a hand drape just above his head, brushing the top of his hair.
“Beat me, beat me at what exactly?”
“Getting water.” He holds up a water bottle that’s mostly full, with the cap screwed on lop-sided. His smile is filled with some sort of pride, and I simply shake my head. “I was hoping that I could fill it and be back before you came here, kind of forgot you’re a fast walker.”
“You do realize how stupid you sound, right?” another weak laugh emits into my surrounding, making Matt smile once more. He laughs back before he sheepishly nods in response.
“yeahhh, a little.” I notice his eyes squint when he laughs, laughs properly at least, it makes me smile a little more.
We let out small laughs individually that mingle with our sighs as it dies down, pausing to grab our assigned instruments and sit down, now facing each other at a further distance.
“Anything you wanna practice today?” I shoot a quick glance in his direction, back and forth between him and the plugs to my guitar.
“Honestly, I just want to do something for tonight.” I let the plug dangle in my hand letting my attention fully focus onto matt, seeing him swing back and forth on his chair.
“Tonight..?”
“The club I told you about?” I raise an eyebrow at him slightly as he shifts his weight so that his hands drape over his thighs with his hands dangling off. “The first admissions for it are today.”
Shit.
“They are?” I try to act nonchalant with my words, but the slight hesitation was a dead giveaway.
“You forgot, didn’t you?”
“No, of course not…” I mess around with my guitar to avoid any eye contact with matt.
Truth is, I am way more scared than I should be about going to that club. I’m not one for anxiety and I tend to just get on with things but this time? I’m intimidated. And I don’t know how Matt is going to react to everyone in that room that has a significant amount more dedication than I do in their instruments. Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t want to abandon my morning routine with Matt, or maybe it’s the insecurity of my skill. But something is eating me up more than it ever should.
“Oh, c’mon Alyia, it’s obvious. Do you want to practice something with me then..”
I think about his words before judging the situation better. Internally I had decided that I was going to leave really early or make some crappy excuse about why I couldn’t be there any longer than I could handle; the more Matt went on about it, the worse I felt.
“You aren’t going.. are you..?” my eyes finally meet his and I see his chest fall as he reads my eyes, I look away quickly after that.
“I am.. I just. I have nothing that I have prepared, I haven’t made anything new in months.” I lie slightly, altering the truth behind my weakened smile. I’m a bad liar, and he knows it.
“Fine.. if that is really the issue, then let’s get something done now. Okay?” I don’t argue with him and balance the guitar on my thigh, shifting it on my skin.
I don’t need to look at him to know he is smiling; you can practically feel it in the occasional sentences and the opening numbers to start the beat of his drums. The music wasn’t anything special, an old song practiced many times between us, one we were confident in. It was a calm balance between skill and memory which was more relaxed than other songs I was used to playing.
-
About an hour had gone by and we had only gone over a few songs, filling the gaps with small conversations and words to each other, giving small changes to the songs to match one another. Nothing I wasn’t used to, but the difference in our energy was noticeable between the two of us.
Before Matt can comment again on my mood the bell rings, breaking up the song that was more finished than not. I quickly move my guitar to rest by my feet, leaning onto my shins before I unplug it. The wire wraps between my fingers rapidly while I bend down to place it into my case which thankfully wasn’t far from my placement. Matt simply watches me once more, noticing the speed of my packing away unusual to the normal which drags on until at least one of us is late to our first class.
I know he is watching but I don’t utter a word to him, grabbing my case with my guitar now inside and leaving the place quickly. I didn’t want to think about after school just yet.
As I’m rushing away from the music room, Jenny runs into me and grabs my arm to get my attention.
“Hey? Why are you rushing..?” her words fall sweetly from her lips, shooting a quick smile to one of her friends who keeps walking with out her by her side.
“I’m fine, Jenny, what’s up.”
“What’s up is you acting weird. Talk to me..”
I try to avoid any eye contact until I begin speaking.
“I don’t know…I’m just feeling nervous about tonight. And I never feel this way and so I can’t pinpoint a specific reason as to why I feel like this.” I ramble quicker than I would’ve liked, yet nothing she wasn’t used to when I was like this.
“Is it because of what I said this morning?” Her gaze meets mine, softer than Matt’s but lacking in the same easy sparkle.
“Maybe...” The way I mumble indicated to Jenny all that she needed to.
“So..you are afraid of losing Matt to new people.”
“But I shouldn’t. Matt can fucking talk to whoever he wants to. Why should that be my concern” her arms land on my shoulder, her fingers brushing against the edge of the material back and forth.
“What exactly did you tell me after you had that sleepover at their house.. the very first thing.”
“The conversation I had with matt?” my voice begins to shake again, I swallow quickly to hide it.
“Exactly that. How he wanted to be your friend and get to know you…you’re scared to lose that, your parents haven’t been a help with that.” I look down at my feet, realizing slowly what she is getting at. “You don’t want to lose Matt after finally getting a friend again that didn’t make you feel isolated. Not that you’ll ever admit it.”
“That’s because it’s not true.”
That’s because it is true.
“This is stupid Jenny, whatever this is? I’ll get over it quick enough, okay?”
“Alyia.” She tried to call my name out, but I walked off down the corridor before she could even finish.
-
Class was nearly over, and I was glad I got a distraction from this morning, letting it go on for too long in my head. Honestly, all I was thinking about now was the piece I would play for people at the club, hoping someone finds the skill I have decent enough. I’m not one to majorly care enough about extracurricular activities but both Jenny and Matt were going on about how good this would be for me, so I felt like I had to go.
I was trying to use the English work as a distraction, but I kept subconsciously tapping my pen against the desk to the beat of the song I was going to play. I hated that it was catchy and now subsequently stuck on my head.
With the teacher ending her lesson, people start a commotion of bag movement and talking, startling me from the silence. I rub my eyes with one of my hands, using the other to push my from my seat before grabbing my bag that laid by my feet.
An array of pens and equipment that I hadn’t even used for that lesson spread across my papers. I sighed at the sight of them, knowing it would delay me from leaving.
I lay a bunch of them in my pencil case and turn my back to shove it into my bag but as I turn around, I see Matt in front of me, holding my papers that were all over my desk neatly in his hands.
He doesn’t say anything, but his smile hides a sweet sincerity behind it. A smile spread across my face as I took them from his hands and transferred them in-between a few books in my bag.
“You’re slow today, normally you wait for me” he takes a few steps before turning back to wait for me to catch up with him.
“Yeah sorry..” I think he noticed my change in my average mood since he slows down to make sure he walks by my side.
“What’s up with you? You are always happy to leave English?”
“I am. I’m just tired I guess.” As much as I hated to say it, I was getting better at lying to Matt, it didn’t help that he told my tells and what he picked up on. That only gave me the things about myself that I needed to change.
“Well, hopefully not too tired to play in a minute. I talked with the guy who introduced the club to me and I think it was in room 17. Don’t hold me to that though.” He leaves my side and so does a sharp exhale on my end. I was glad he left it alone.
I needed to get over this feeling quickly.
-
The room was easily noticeable to us the more we approached the door, commotion being heard that was typically avoided during after school hours. A few people stood outside talking, evidently holding instruments varying from different music groups.
I don’t think either Matt or I were expecting this many people here, about fifteen people were heard and was confirmed as we entered the room.
Matt had entered first, immediately being noticed by a few people I had seen him play with at the talent show months ago. I stayed behind Matt, only turning when I heard a voice say my name.
“Alyia? Out of all people I wasn’t expecting you here.” The words are raspy and that catches my attention more than the specific words he says.
“Excuse me?” I face him head in now, dropping my attention from Matt.
“I’m Elijah, I’m in your science?”
“I’m sorry but I don’t know you, to be fair I don’t really know anyone in that class.” My hand rubs against the back of neck, hoping that it soothes some of the awkwardness that was just created.
“I’m not surprised, you’re kind of known for that. At least that’s all I know about you.”
“What?”
“You’re known for not talking to anyone and well…being distant.” I sigh and look down at my shoes before I speak again.
“Well, that’s a great first impression, huh.”
“If you join this, then I bet I’ll be seeing a lot more of you, I run this club with Ben, so I’ll be giving you details and information on anything you need.” I feel a sense of relief over me, knowing I didn’t fuck everything up.
“Yo, Alyia? You want to perform in a few minutes” Those words come from a voice that I wasn’t familiar with, I scan the room, turning my body around until I see a boy looking at me who is stood next to Matt. I can only assume that he is Ben, until the name finally clicks as the one labelled on the sheet that Matt gave me.
I give a hesitant thumbs up, only putting them down as I slide my soles on the ground and swing my body to return to Elijah.
“I’ll see you around?” His smile is quick to grow on his face and I reciprocate it. I start to feel less nervous about this situation now knowing that the people here aren’t as intimidating as I thought. Maybe this wasn’t so bad.
-
By the time performances rolled around a small slip of paper was passed around the bench we all sat on, naming what order we were in, thankfully I was after Matt, so I got to sit next to him. He kept stealing glances at me for a few minutes before whispering.
“I see that you aren’t as nervous anymore Ally.”
“Ally?” My head turns to him quickly, making him hide a laugh in his smile.
“Oh, so you can call me Matt, but I can’t shorten your name? Do you not like it?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Then it’s settled.” He takes one more look at me before his gaze is stolen by Ben and Elijah standing in front of us.
“Before we start showing everyone what you all play and types of skill you all have, this isn’t any audition or anything, this is just so that others can see what you can do. This is just fun for you all, okay” Ben’s words calmed me down more than I thought that they would.
“We have set up the instruments accordingly but if you guys need to change any tuning, quickly do it as it is your turn.” Thankfully, my internal panicking made me check mine a few times so I could relax over that factor at least.
“Whoever is first, if you could start.”
-
The atmosphere was way calmer, and I didn’t feel pressured not to mess anything up, seeing how one or two people had missed a note and moved on so easily with communitive applause afterwards.
Matt was up next, and he just sat behind the drum kit quickly, feeling confident about the snippet he had prepared.
The drumsticks spin against his fingertips, taking a quick look at me while he internally counts himself in.
The silence that was previously established was cut off by the quick taps of the high hat along with the snare drum.
It was the piece that I have recognized from this morning, and I was happy to see it with more energy than before.
After a few minutes he stops and looks up from the separate drums, smiling at the small claps shared between us.
He walks up to me and looks down towards me.
“You good to go?”
“After that I’m doubting myself” I give him a quick grin, standing up to meet his eyes.  I laugh when he rolls his eyes and playfully punches my arm.
I take a quick breath, passing Matt to approach my guitar that was on the stand and pull it towards the seat displayed central to everyone.
I hum the tune quickly to myself as I pluck the strings gently. It is only a few seconds before I start to strum against the strings creating a much more melodic sound. I ignore the people before me for a moment and let myself fall into the sounds more. This piece wasn’t particularly hard to do except for one or two moments and it was more a case of keeping on time with myself and focusing on the beautiful audio it made.
I managed to finish the piece only messing up one chord – not that it was noticeable, thankfully. When I look back up from the guitar, I look at Matt immediately and smile just a little brighter to him.
I shook my hands a little after placing my guitar back to get rid of the energy that lingered and took my seat back next to Matt who ruffled my hair a little when I adjusted myself.
“You played really fucking well, better than a few of the morning sessions we have had.”
“Oh really?” I rolled my eyes buy feign to hold my smile back and its obvious he noticed.
“You want to go to the Grove after this?”
“Are you sure?” I was surprised to hear him mention the Grove to me again, I had been the only one so far to bring it up and I was happy he remembered about it at all.
“Of course, I may have gotten a few things for it.”
“You did..?” Curiosity changed the way I had initially smiled at him. “What did you get?”
He merely placed a finger to his lips and tapped, quietening me.
-
The rest of the time I was there I was thinking about what Matt could’ve possibly bought for the houses at the Grove, if it was even for the houses. I stopped thinking to applaud the last two performances and I spent the rest of that time thinking about what he had planned.
“You ready to go?” I get stunned by the sudden words but as I look up I notice that people are standing up from their seats and grabbing their bags.
“Oh. Uhm yeah.” I stand up and grab my bag from my feet.
“Cmon, I wanna show you what I bought.”
I leave the room, waving goodbye to the few people I had made conversation with before catching up to Matt, walking next to him again. We leave the main building and head towards his car.
“Are you ready for the Grove?” I simply nod in response, excited for what Matt has in store.

can we fall in love? pt. 2
formerly known as be my baby !
matt x female!oc
Tumblr media
moodboard is at the end bc i couldn’t fix it😭
song for the whole series:
ABOUT: the girl who believes she’s unlovable meets the boy who can’t take his eyes off of her and has too much love to give but can’t admit his feelings for her.
A/N: sorry if this is long, let me know what you think about the story so far and what you want to see. Thank you for reading <33
MATT:
“so do you skate?” i asked just wanting to her voice more. “nah i just like the vibe here plus it’s good for painting because there’s no old people telling me i’m ‘wasting my youth’” i laughed at that. Chris told me that nick was calling asking where we were but i didn’t want to leave Ava yet so i let him walk ahead telling him i’ll meet him at the car. “sorry if this is too forward because we’ve just met but do you wanna grab something to eat later? me, my brothers and a few friends are meeting for pizza in south end.” i bit my lip hoping she’d say yes. “sure! i’ve not got anything planned, i’ll give u my number and you can text me the details” silently celebrating we exchanged numbers and i caught up to chris. “i invited ava to dinner later with us!” i said to him excitedly, “matt.” “what?” “you so have a crush on her” “no i don’t what?” i lied “you’re blushing like crazy and all giddy” he replied, i just shoved his shoulder and walked around to the drivers seat. We hoped into the car on the way home, all i could think of was her and how i excited i was to see her again, but then i thought what if she thinks i was being weird by asking her so many questions? is she actually serious about coming? maybe it was a mistake. we got home and i felt my phone buzz.
Ava
hey!! what’s the plans for later?
i was instantly relieved, until i heard chris walk in and said to nick “matts in loveee” while making a heart with his hands, “shut up chris” i nudged him, nick was too distracted with something on his phone to care. “nick we met a new friend and i invited her to dinner later, if that’s ok with you?”
“yea no problem what’s their name?”
“ava”
“oooo ava” he teased
“not you now” i rolled my eyes
“what’s she like then” he said putting his phone down and walking over to the counter where i was sitting.
“we met her at the skatepark she was listening to lil skies so obviously we went over, she was doing some graffiti too it was really cool you should’ve seen!” chris mentioned
“i can’t wait to meet her then!”.
AVA:
i walked back home with mila telling her about the boys, “he sounds really nice” “i know right he invited me out for pizza later but i have no clue what to wear” mila stopped and squealed “ILL HELP YOU!!” i immediately agreed and we ran into the apartment. i put some songs on and she started to pick out some options from my closet, after deciding on my clothes she did my makeup all nice and i sprayed some perfume. “now listen, if anyone tries anything sneaky call me and i will beat their ass, no joke” she said deadpanned, i giggled “ i’m sure i’ll be fine mila” she wrapped her arms round me and sighed “sorry for ditching you tonight, i need a new job honestly this is killing my social life” i laughed and said “don’t worry about it” i looked down at my phone to see matt texted saying he’s outside i quickly replied and said bye to mila, running down stairs being careful to not fall down. chris waved through the window and pointed to the back door. “hi guys, thank you so much for inviting me!” “hey i’m nick, you must be ava?” i turned to my left “yes nice to meet you! oh my god i love your tattoos” he thanked me and i looked forward to where matt was to see him staring through the mirror at me, when i noticed he swiftly averted his gaze saying “ok are we ready to go?” “yep all good” i responded. On our way chris was playing songs on aux while i got to know them a bit better. “so what brings you to LA” nick asked “well honestly scotland is depressing as hell and i love the vibes here but most of the reason was my family” i took a pause before talking again “i’m just not that close with them” i didn’t want to fully unload my trauma onto them, i had only known them a few hours, “what about you guys, matt told me you’re from boston?” nick explained their reasons and by the time he was done we arrived at the restaurant. hopping out of the car i met their friends and we went inside. i decided to sit in between matt and chris in the booth seats and we ordered. in my head i was super nervous to eat anything infront of everyone, it had always been something i just couldn’t get over for some reason. i hadn’t realised i had zoned out before i felt a familiar tap on my shoulder “hey, you okay?” matt asked “oh yeah sorry i was just distracted” “you wanna talk about it?” he offered “oh no it’s nothing thank you though” why was he so kind to me, i had known him for under a day, i don’t know if it’s just because i’ve never had real friends but i felt almost guilty by being there. After eating i excused myself to the bathroom and their friend madi came with me. She was literally gorgeous, like something straight out of a magazine we instantly clicked and she really welcomed me into their group. “ava, i think matt likes you” she whispered “what?” “i don’t know for sure but he kept admiring you and he was super excited telling us about you before we went out” i didn’t really know how to respond so i just laughed it off. someone liking me felt other worldly, i was constantly teased at school and made fun of so it fully drained me of any expectations but madi seemed so sure. On the way home chris handed me the aux cable “since we already know you have good taste in music” he chuckled, i scrolled through my playlist and played ‘broken clocks by sza’ nick instantly turned to me and yelled “OH MY GOD I LOVE SZA” “STOP ME TOO” we started belting out the lyrics, matt and chris just laughed and we drives through the dark LA streets before reaching my apartment block. “thank you so much for the night, i had a lot of fun!” i hugged nick before jumping out the car and waving to chris and matt.
MATT:
2:00am
i was laying in my bed unable to sleep because i couldn’t stop thinking of her. i was listening to music until i heard my phone vibrate.
Ava
thank you sm again for tonight, see ya soon :)
My heart started beating fast and a smile plastered across my tired face before i replied and drifted off.
AHH LET ME KNOW WHAT U GUYS THINK 🤍🤍

haiiii :3 can you perhaps do alex comforting you after you find out you guys are pregnant? >~<
ummm yes!!!!!! is that even a question!!!!
prompt: you find out you and alex are pregnant together
no warnings! fluff!!!!
Tumblr media
you found yourself pacing back and forth in your restroom. you were practically biting your nails completely off as you waited. finally your phone timer vibrated. you sat on the toilet lid and took a deep breath.
the pregnancy test was laid in your hand. you slowly flipped it over and saw those two little lines. you didn’t know what to do.
of course you were ecstatic! ever since you got with alexis, you decided that you wanted a family with him. it was just… very unexpected and a lot earlier than you planned. you hadn’t even brought up family making talk with alex.
oh god, alex…
as if on cue, a light knock on the restroom door brought you back down to earth.
“baby? are you okay? you’ve been in there for quite some time…” he jingled the doorknob to let him in
you quickly looked everywhere for a hiding spot for the pregnancy test and the box it came. you shoved it under the sink and pulled yourself together.
you slowly unlock the door and put on a fake smile for your boyfriend.
“hi”
“what’s wrong? were you throwing up again or?” he asked, worry written all over his face
“no i was um pooping… i had a coffee earlier and it did not settle well in my stomach” you laughed, trying to seem normal. you needed time to prepare for the talk with alex. you had absolutely no clue of how he’d react to the news.
“i told you too much caffeine is bad for ya… well, sorry for interrupting you. i thought something was wrong. i’ll leave you to it then” he laughed lightly
and just like a god damn miracle, the box flopped out from under the sink. you should’ve cleaned that cabinet out a long time ago. it was so full that the damn pregnancy test just decided to show itself. your eyes teared up as alex walked forward and pulled out the test from inside the box.
“y/n… is this? is this real? please tell me it’s a prank..”
anger filled within you. he wanted this to be a joke?!
“i knew you would react like this! i don’t need you! i don’t need anyone! i can raise my baby alone!” tears were now streaming down your face as you spoke
alex had a sad look on his face. he stepped forward and grabbed your face in his warm hands. you sniffled and looked at him.
“baby girl… i never said i didnt want the baby. yeah, it’s a little bit early but i would never hesitate to raise a baby with you. i want to be the baby’s father.” he gently dried your face of tears
“you mean that?”
“of course i do y/n. you had me worried.. i thought you would force me to leave you or assume i wanted you to have an abortion. i want you and.. i want the baby” he smiled softly, relief evident on his face
“i guess i do assume the worst in situations like this. this is 100% your fault by the way! you can’t keep your hands off me!” you laugh, teasing your boyfriend a bit
“i guess you’re right on that one. but isn’t it your fault for being so sexy in the first place?” he smirked
“oh shut up!”
“but in all seriousness, how far along are you?” he asked, taking your hand in his
“i think three weeks? i haven’t had my period in three weeks and ive been pretty nauseous daily ever since”
“that makes sense. im really sorry for not being responsible and wearing condoms. but are you sure you want to keep it? i’m not saying i don’t want you to but i just wanna make sure you think about it, i mean a baby is a big decision” he rubbed your hand soothingly
“im really sure alex.. are you sure you still want me? i’m never going to have this body again and.. i’m scared of you losing interest in me after i have the baby” you said, feeling insecure about how much you’re going to change throughout this pregnancy
“is that what you’re worried about, mi vida? that’s got to be one of the silliest things i’ve ever heard. you being pregnant won’t stop me from loving you.. nor will it change my attraction for you, if anything, i find it really attractive..” he said, touching your smooth face gently
“you do?”
“i do. you’ll be carrying our baby. our baby.. the product of our love. you’ll have a growing being inside of you that’ll have both our features. and seeing a baby grow inside of you that’s mine and yours… that’s goddamn attractive if you ask me” he chuckled lightly
“oh alex” you let out a sob, practically jumping into his arms as he held you close to his chest
“don’t worry baby girl, we’re gonna be fine. i’ll do everything in my power to make sure you and our baby are okay and safe, okay?” he said with a kiss to your temple
“yeah… i’ll have the best man in the world helping me raise our baby..” you snuggled into him more
“you make it sound like i’ll be an amazing father. i mean i can see myself being the best father possible but i can’t say i’ll be perfect. i’ll definitely do my very best to be a good father because our baby deserves it” he explained, caressing your hair
“woah… daddy alex? that’s pretty hot, im not gonna lie. i kinda see where you’re coming from that me being pregnant is attractive to you” you pulled back a bit to look at him as you spoke. you saw him visibly freeze
“did you just… did you just call me daddy??” he blinked a few times, processing what you just said
“you’re already an amazing daddy to me, always taking care of me. i’m good practice, no?” you practically purred, loving the blush that crept out onto his cheeks
“th-that’s, th-that’s not what i meant!” he stuttered, very flustered,
“i mean yeah i take care of you and look after you to the best of my abilities… but d-daddy?” he continued
“i know what you meant alexis, i think i just have a lot of hormones in my body right now. i think… i think these baby hormones are making me feel stuff already. i mean, the thought of you being a father is really sexy… im definitely turned on, not gonna lie” you confessed, not even feeling embarrassed
“so daddy alex then, huh?” he smiled, the blush still bright on his face
“mhm…”
“i dont know what got into you but, hey im not complaining” he chuckles and wraps his arms around you
“you’re such a dream..” you sigh
“y tu eres la mujer de mis sueños, eres la cosita mas hermosa y perfecta que me ha pasado” he said lovingly to you
“god, im going to love you forever”
“i love you so much too, forever. this baby will definitely make that love even stronger”
“i agree, mi amor”
“by any chance, have you thought of any baby names? i know you said you thought about us having a family and stuff..” he asked randomly
“i have actually, have you?”
“it’s kinda weird but i have. for a boy, i think carlos or joan and for a girl maybe paz or xochil” he said thoughtfully and you gushed at the fact that he even thought of baby names
“those are actually really pretty. i was thinking for a boy, ezekiel or alexis jr and for a girl something like hyacinth or eliana” you said
“are… are you serious” alex asked, looking down at the floor
“yes, i mean its perfect. i’ve always adored your name and he could be our little junior” you shrugged as if it wasn’t the biggest compliment to alexis
“our little junior… that’s just… wow, i have no words” he smiled
“maybe if it’s a girl, she can have my name or something similar?” you said after a minute
“it’s settled then. if it’s a boy, alexis junior and if it’s a girl, she’ll have your beautiful name” he smiled, leaning in to give you a quick kiss
“then it’s decided” you agreed
“can you promise me something? well, two things” he asked
“sure baby”
“can you please promise not to stress yourself about this pregnancy? i don’t want anything bad happening to you or our baby..”
“yes alex, i promise”
“and also… please don’t stop loving me after the baby is born. i know it’s common for women to have postpartum depression and things like that or even resentment towards the father for getting them pregnant… but i promise to do everything in my power to ensure a good life for you and our baby. i’m going to do everything for us, y/n. just, please don’t stop loving me…” his gaze shifts to the ground once again
“ay mi corazóncito… i could never ever stop loving you. you’re the only person i want to raise a family with… you’re my family” you say genuinely
“oh my god… thank you amor. thank you for everything. i’ll take care of you, okay?”
“okay alex” you nodded and after a while,
“maybe… maybe we should celebrate” you say suggestively
“oh… you mean..” he said innocently
“yeah..”
“yes… we definitely should celebrate” he nodded
“well then get to it daddy, mommy needs tending to”
alex lifts you from the toilet seat cover and takes your hand in his. he leads you to your bedroom and he made love to you. he was absolutely gentle and just overall a gentleman, tending to your needs.
he was going to be an amazing father, that was for sure.

“hey! y/n!”
you looked back and saw leeseo running up to you with her usual bright smile. she seemed more bubbly today, which was good.
“hi, leeseo.” you smiled. she handed you the umbrella from the day before and thanked you for allowing her to borrow it.
”thanks for letting me borrow it yesterday! i really appreciate it.” she smiled, “i got you some chocolate in return! i heard you liked milk chocolate so i got you some.”
“o-oh.. uh thank you..” you were stuttering so badly, it was horrible.
*ring ring ring!*
“i gotta take this phonecall, thank you again though!” she smiled before bouncing away.
someone hit you on the arm and you turned around, it was iroha, aka your best friend for life, aka the girl who debuted in illit, aka the maknae of illit, aka the most annoying person in the world but you still love her anyways. yeah, that iroha.
“someone’s blushing,” iroha laughed, teasing you. “consider yourself lucky, y/n. leeseo doesn’t do that for just anyone. now come on! let’s go to class! mrs. choi is going to kill us.”
*ding ding ding!*
“wait which mrs. choi?—“
“choi sooyoung! that mrs. choi! now hurry your ass up!” iroha groaned, dragging you to class with her.
-
mrs. choi cleared her throat, “ahem. bae y/n? quit your daydreaming and pay attention. or i’m going to give everyone a pop quiz.”
you snapped out of your daydreaming, “sorry mrs. choi..”
iroha snickered, “daydreaming about leeseo?”
“have something to share, ms. hokazono iroha?” mrs. chou raised an eyebrow.
iroha immediately shut up, “no, mrs. choi.”
“good. now shut it before i separate you two.”
“yes, mrs. choi.” you both replied in a monotone.
-
“gosh, that class was horrible.” you groaned as soon as you walked out.
“you were asleep half of the class.” iroha rolled her eyes.
“and?? still boring!!”
“i’m surprised you’re even passing that class..” she sighed.
you grinned, “with a b too! i’m doing more than just passing.”
“whatever. let’s just go eat lunch. i’m hungry.” iroha’s stomach rumbled and you two started laughing.
when the two of you got to the lunch tables you saw some guy talking to leeseo. it made your heart break into pieces. that was until you saw her face. she was distraught, completely terrified.
“hey, can you hold my bag for me real quick?” before she could answer, you shoved your bag into iroha’s hands and walked towards leeseo.
“leeseo!” you put on a fake smile, glaring at the dude in front of her.
leeseo laughed awkwardly, “y/n! glad to see you!”
“who the hell are you?” the dude glared back.
“her girlfriend.”
“wait what?—“ leeseo got cut off by the dude.
“girlfriend?” he laughed, “prove it to me then! show me some pictures! or kiss her.”
“i will!” you scowled at him, grabbing leeseo’s arm and kissing her. the guy immediately backed off, cursing under his breath.
“sorry— i didn’t mean to kiss you like that. i just saw that you seemed uncomfortable.” you smiled awkwardly.
“it’s fine. i’m just glad i was able to get away from him.” she laughed.
“i gotta go now, i have some friends waiting on me. i’ll talk to you later though!” before you could leave, leeseo grabbed your arm and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
“for the favor earlier.” she smiled, slipping a piece of paper in your hand. “my number. so we can talk whenever.” she whispered in your ear. “see you later, yn!” she walked off, leaving you all flustered.
“damnnnnn, yn!!” iroha laughed, bumping your arm.
“someone’s popular! didn’t think you would kiss her like that!” moka teased, poking at your arms.
“honestly same. thought you would chicken out.” wonhee and iroha added onto moka’s teasing, making chicken noises at you.
“hey! what’s in your hand!” iroha took it out of your hand and read it, “it says.. call me! +82 X XXXX XXXX. xoxo, leeseo.”
“DAMNNN!” moka burst out laughing with the other two.
you took the piece of paper back, “shut it you three! don’t be too loud.”
“whatever! anyways, can we go eat now? i’m hungry as hell!” iroha’s stomach saying it all.
you sighed, heading over to the lunch tables to eat.
-
by the time school was over it was raining. yet again. rainy spring weather was one of your favorite types of days. you loved the way the rain fell on the ground, the soft patters of rain droplets. the way the rain dripped off of the rooftops and how it smelled after it stopped raining. it made you feel so calm and relaxed.
you saw leeseo standing in the front, panicking while dialing some numbers on her phone. you tapped her shoulder and smiled.
“i don’t have a car because i usually walk home, but i can take you over to your company.”
“no— yn, it’s fine. i can head there by myself.” leeseo replied, still calling some people, suspecting that it was her manager or her members.
“no. i’ll walk you there. especially since it’s raining and all and i don’t want you walking by yourself in this type of weather. and i’m not sure if that guy will come back and bug you again. plus, i let you walk by yourself last time, which i shouldn’t have.”
“fine. thank you though. i’ll repay you back sometime.” she finally gave in, letting out a soft sigh of relief.
“come on, let’s go before you get in trouble for being late.”
-
“thanks again for walking with me. i appreciate it.” her voice was soft and sweet, with the occasional hands brushing against one another.
she suddenly pulled you closer to her by linking arms. “your shoulder is getting wet, i don’t want you to catch a cold.”
“oh— uh.. thank you..” you muttered.
“don’t worry about it.”
you dropped her off in the front of her company building and was about to bid her farewell and go home, but she wouldn’t let you. saying that you should stay in the company building till the rain died down.
you tried refusing, but she just wouldn’t let you leave. you sighed and ended up staying, nervously following her into the elevator.
“my members are amazing, they’re super talented and nice! you’ll be fine with them. it’s just till the rain dies down.” leeseo’s voice was bubbly and bright, just like her usual self.
you hummed in response. your palms were sweaty and you were extremely nervous. you hoped that they would like you. you two arrived at her practice room and she opened the door making you go in first.
“leeseo— who are you?” one girl raised an eyebrow, voice sharp.
“unnies! this is y/n! she walked me here today and i told her to stay with us for a while till the rain dies down.” leeseo grinned.
you bowed 90° and introduced yourself, “uh.. hi.. i’m bae y/n.. nice to meet you all— and uhm… yea.” you stuttered, mentally face-palming yourself.
“you look like irene sunbaenim.” one girl blurted out.
“oh.. yeah, she’s my older sister.” you replied.
“no wonder! you two look so much alike!” leeseo played with your fingers.
another girl introduced herself, “i’m yujin, the leader of ive. nice to meet you y/n.” she paused. “you know leeseo. the girl next to me is wonyoung, the girl next to wonyoung is rei, the one on the left of the couch is gaeul unnie, and the one to the right of her is liz.”
“these are my members! they’re all amazing and i love them with all of my heart.” leeseo stopping yujin, her smile wide.
“i love your music, it’s really good. i went to one of your concerts not to long ago. the one in seoul during your last world tour. mostly to support leeseo because she is my classmate after all.” you gave them a small smile.
“thank you for supporting us. we appreciate it a lot.” wonyoung said happily, but classy at the same time. “oh— leeseo-ah. could you get us some water? we ran out. here’s some money for the vending machine downstairs.” wonyoung handed her the money and sent her on her way.
“now. you.” everyone got up and stood in front of you. “are you dating leeseo?” liz asked.
“no—“
“do you have a crush on leeseo?” rei’s eyebrows raised.
“oh— uhm. uh—“
rei and liz pressured you, “say it.”
“yes..”
“ha! knew it!” gaeul exclaimed.
“you’re the one who let leeseo borrow your umbrella last time it rained, didn’t you? your umbrella has the same design as it did when leeseo came by herself.” wonyoung said, crossing her arms.
“uh— yeah.. i did..”
liz butted in, “why didn’t you walk with her then? huh, y/n?”
“i was really nervous and i chickened out—“ you got cut off by gaeul.
“you better be treating our maknae right. i don’t care how you two are associated with each other, friends or dating.” gaeul pointed a finger at your chest and all of the members agreed.
leeseo came back with a bunch of waters in her hands and you helped her put it down on the ground. you were saying that you had to leave and that your mom would get upset with you if you weren’t home, leeseo tried to get you to stay longer, but yujin told leeseo to walk you out since it wasn’t raining anymore.
“fineeee..” leeseo whined, leading you out of their practice room and towards the elevator. “hey— i’m sorry if my unnies were scaring you. they tend to get protective over me sometimes, especially since i’m the youngest.”
“it’s fine. they were really nice to me. and i get it, they just want what’s best for you.” you smiled.
you two got to the front door and she gave you a hug, “see you tomorrow. oh, and don’t forget your umbrella, just incase it starts raining again.”
“thank you, leeseo.”
“hey— can i.. uhm.”
“what is it?”
“can i kiss you?— sorry if you don’t want to, i just.. yeah.” leeseo muttered.
“go ahead. i don’t mind.”
she gave you a small kiss before going back for another one, this time it was longer. her lips tasted of grapefruit, possibly from the lipgloss she always wears. she wrapped her arm around you, smiling and giggling into your chest, it was such an adorable sight to see.
she gave you one last kiss before finally pulling away, the taste of her lipgloss still lingering on your lips. you could see where she was kissed, the light tint of lipgloss on her upper lip and mixed in with the rest of hers.
leeseo interrupted your thoughts, “i expect you to call me once you get home. i wanna know if you got home safely. promise?” she held out her pinky.
your wrapped your pinky around hers, “promise.”
“good. see you tomorrow!” she beamed, happily bouncing off back to the elevator.
“hey!— uhm. what are we?” you blurted out.
“girlfriends?” she laughed.
“sure.” you grinned, walking out of the building and instantly pulling out your phone to call your friends.
“what is it, y/n?” iroha asked, the other two joining the call.
“you guys will never believe what just happened.”

sorry, for real this time (LS2 x OP81)
logan confronts his biggest need. part 4 of "changed" part 3 | part 2 w/c: 852 day 35 of loscar posts until we get a LOSCAR PODIUMM (series masterlist) masterlist tw: swearing
He opens the door and walks out.
“Logan-”
Oscar.
Logan stones again. He freezes and looks at Oscar.
He can only imagine how horrible he looks right now. Red eyes. Messy hair. Tear stains all over.
“I know you don’t want me to-” Oscar stops himself, “I just want to talk to you.”
“Oscar, I’m sorry.” Logan says.
“No-” Oscar rubs his forehead, “I mean, you shouldn’t be sorry.”
“You didn’t have to wait for me-” Logan sighs.
Of course he made someone wait behind for him, as usual. The burden, the dread, the weigh-down.
“I chose to wait for you.” Oscar replies.
“It’s probably late, you should go home.” Logan says.
Logan’s tired. His entire body feels like collapsing onto some soft surface.
“I can send you home.” Oscar says, almost begging.
Logan hesitates but eventually nods.
Oscar holds Logan by the waist which makes Logan shiver.
They both walk toward where Oscar has his car parked. The walk is silent, just Logan’s head bowed down as Oscar walks next to him, stroking his back again.
Logan gets into the passenger seat and Oscar starts the car.
------
“We don’t have to talk about it-” Oscar says.
Logan nods while leaning his head on the window.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Oscar asks.
“I’m a disappointment.” Logan doesn’t answer the question.
“No- No you’re not.” Oscar replies, his hand firmly on Logan’s shoulder, “Stop saying that.”
“You probably didn’t even want to do this.” Logan says, dragging his words.
Logan is really tired.
“I wanted to do this.” Oscar confirms, “I wanted to talk to you. You’re not some burden I have.”
“You didn’t even wave to me.” Logan leans back onto his chair now, staring up into the car roof.
“What? When?”
“I don’t know, a few days ago. When you were filming that one video, you saw me wave but you didn’t wave back.”
Oscar clears his throat, “Sorry.”
Logan shakes his head even more, “I hate this. I’m such a piece of shit, aren’t I?”
“This can’t be just about that.”
Logan shakes his head again, “It’s about everything.”
“Everything?”
“Yes Oscar, everything.”
“What does that even mean?”
“Everything’s changed. You’ve changed. We’ve all changed. I hate it but it’s something that’s happening.” Logan rambles, almost shouting.
Before Oscar can reply, Logan interjects.
“And you aren’t even there at all. It’s like- like you don’t even care about me anymore.” Logan chokes up, “I hate it. I hate everything. I want everything to go back. I want to go back.”
The silence that follows is deafening.
“I-” Oscar hesitates, “I’m sorry Logan… Logs.”
“Doesn’t even mean anything anymore. Oscar, what changed? Was it me? Did I do something wrong?” Logan says, on the brink of another meltdown.
He instantly regrets his words.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.” Logan sighs, “I’m tired.”
Oscar nods, “I messed up.”
Logan lets out a sarcastic chuckle.
“Seriously, and I’m sorry, for real this time.” Oscar says, his voice laced with regret.
“I miss you Oscar.” Logan sobs, “I hate this, I hate that there’s a real, valid reason that you left me.”
Oscar feels his throat stinging too, like he wants to cry as well but he resists.
“I miss you too Logs.” Oscar’s voice is soft, “I’m sorry again.”
Logan starts wiping his tears off again.
“I’m sorry for leaving you when you needed me, for being absent.” Oscar says, “For forgetting about you, for making you feel like a failure.”
“Shut up man.” Logan says, “You’re winning trophies, be happy.”
“I’d trade all of them for you to be happy again.”
I’d trade all of them for you to be happy again.
Everything slows down. The road becomes empty, the world’s noises fade away. Logan lifts his head and looks into Oscar’s tear-filled eyes.
Like how it all fell apart, it fell back together.
“I’ve been a fucking horrible person Logs. Please. Let’s start again.” Oscar pleads, “I’ll do better. I want to see you smile again.”
And just like a miracle, Logan smiles.
Oscar lays a firm grip on Logan’s shoulders, “I won’t ever leave you on your own again.”
Logan’s head slowly falls back onto the chair’s backrest.
“I promise.” Oscar says.
Maybe he’s lying.
He doesn’t like you.
They haunt his mind. Logan continues looking at the car roof.
You’d trust him again?
The car stops at Logan’s hotel and they both step out.
You’re naive.
A sudden warm embrace interrupts all of Logan’s thoughts. Oscar’s arms wrap around Logan and stay there, tightly. Logan melts.
Everything feels safe. Logan feels safe.
Logan didn’t know when it started, when everything started to fall apart at the seams, but he knows when everything will be fixed.
“Sorry… sorry…sorry. I’m so sorry, Logs.” Oscar says, head buried in Logan, “I missed you so much, I missed everything.”
“Don’t beat yourself up Oscar…” Logan smiles, “Osc.”
They both hug for a while before they separate and it feels empty.
Oscar’s eyes are filled with tears, “I won’t let you down.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
You’d trust him again? Yes.
------ a/n: please forgive if it feels rushed lol, i just wanted these two to have a happy ending!!

“can you promise me something?” eden asks. matt is hovering above her. they are laying in her (new) bed. it squeaks much less and with a pillow between the wall and headboard, it makes any activities easy.
matt is shirtless and he was nipping at her neck. “okay?” he is searching her face. “can you kick ass in round 2? but don’t fight anyone.”
he laughs hard. “matt please,” she whines. “no need to beg baby,” he dips down to nip at her neck again. “i’ll do everything for you.”
her eyes flutter shut and she lays back on the pillow. “i’m sorry about your brother,” he starts. matt’s lips are trailing down her neck and to her chest. “you guys deserve more respect, hell of a team,” he continues, “even though that asshole friend of yours doesn’t like me.”
eden rolled her eyes and pulled his face off her chest. “stop bad mouthing my friends.”
“kyle is just jealous that i get to kiss you, and get to leave marks everywhere,” matt grumbled. “matt rempe, be nice,” she warned. his mouth caught her lips on his. “eden lee, you better be wearing a jacket with my number on your back for round two.”
“of course,” she beamed up at him. “good, lay back, i’m treating my girl to something good.”
