no actually i can’t do this the camera focusing on colin after ted says “crap like envy or fear or shame”
because colin feels envy the other guys. that they get to be in love. that they get to have public relationships. that they don’t have to constantly hear derogatory comments. that they don’t have to worry about being judged for their sexual orientation.
colin feels fear at the thought of being himself because what if things change? what if the guys hate him for who he is? who he loves? what if all of a sudden isaac doesn’t want to be friends anymore?
colin feels shame because of who he is. who he loves. he feels shame because he’s different.
and then ted goes and gives a speech and says they all deserve to be loved no matter what. and all of those beliefs that colin’s had for so long? maybe they aren’t so believable after all.
maybe he can believe in hope instead.
