i had just moved to nockfell. My dad works for a international company and got a job offer in nockfell, aka the middle of nowhere. i didn‘t have much hope nor motivation but i knew how much my dad needed this. „i‘m sure you‘re gonna find lots of friends“ my dad said cheerfully. i smiled at him and went back to my train of thought. i wasn’t extremely popular at my old school but i never really cared for it. We finally arrived to our new apartment complex. it looked kind of sketchy but not as bad as the one down the road. It was called „addison apartments“, a cute name but the moment i laid my eyes on it i got a weird feeling. i helped my dad unload the car and bring in the boxes into our new apartment. it was small but cozy. i quickly grew fond of my new room. all the space i‘ll have for my posters. „i know its not much but its definitely one of the nicer apartments here in nockfell“ my dad said with a smile. I unpacked only half of my things and went to bed. i was exhausted, and to top it all of, my first day of school was tomorrow.

- NEXT DAY -

when i woke up my dad was already gone. i checked the time, 07:10, school didn‘t start until 8:20 so i still had enough time to get ready and try to look alive. i ate a small breakfast and got ready. i threw on one of my go-to outfits and left the house. nockfell was cold and gloomy. The first class i had was history, not tooo bad. could be worse tbh. the school was rather small compared to my last one so i (gladly) didn’t have trouble finding the classroom. the class was already filled with students by the time i got there. „oh! you must be y/n y/l/n. i‘m ms williams“ a lady greeted me with a big smile. „Class! Class listen up! This is our new student y/n y/l/n. Make sure to give her a warm welcome.“ i smiled at my future classmates. But there was one particular person. He had long brown hair, dark brown eyes, and pretty nose. we both stared at each other for a little while before i looked down at my feet.The way he looked at me, with those eyes mad me feel all sorts of things. „ms. y/l/n, why don‘t you sit over there next to mr. johnson.“ i sat next to him and we both gave each other a small smile. „Uh, Hey. I‘m larry.“ he said with a small grin. he had the prettiest smile i had ever seen. „I’m y/n, its nice to meet you.“ We both exchanged stories about various topics. turns out we both have the same music taste. The boy was so handsome i could faint. he had the cutest smile and i quickly realized, this boy would be the death of me.

class ended after what felt like 10 minutes. me and larry had already gotten along so well and all i wanted to do was keep talking to him. „uh hey, would you maybe like to meet some of my friends? they‘re pretty much the best people in nockfell and i‘m sure you‘ll guys get along.“ larry said while staring at me and that grin. gosh that grin. „i‘d love to“ i said. and that was the very beginning of my friendship with sal, ash and todd.

I just put this in the other Roy/Jamie post, but he‘s a bit of a himbo, and yeah he gets some words mixed up, but he is not stupid. Quite the opposite imho. He has a lot of emotional intelligence and he‘s otherwise super open to learning and clearly also has an appreciation for the arts, for instance.

Oof I never thought of one before. One I‘ve written if it counts is just him / Richmond meeting / playing against FC Bayern München, doesn‘t have to be a smutty encounter though haha

a headcanon fact:

We have all seemingly collectively agreed he wanked to Roy‘s poster on his wall and I, too, stand by this. Other than that, I think he‘d struggle way less with being attracted to another man or even coming out than Roy would, not just cause he‘s younger but also cause he seems like someone unfazed by things a lot of other people worry about. Clearly he does struggle, but I think if he sets his mind to something, he‘ll just do it. He‘ll do the right thing, even if it’s hard, particularly where we leave him in S2.

Sangyeon is such a wonderful soul (like I’m serious, pls marry me, he‘s such husband material, I can‘t), Chanhee is just his own amazing person that I can‘t help but to absolutely adore (gender envy at its finest), and Sunwoo that little mf… more delulu than their fandom, but you have to love him🥰🤭

Current favourite song: PRISM (such an underrated BANGER), and Kiss Me If You Can, both fantastic songs that I HIGHLY recommend, especially if you want to feel like you could strut the runway like the baddest bitch ever👏🏼👏🏼

You had no idea what an “insurance consultant” was for the park, but you knew you didn’t like the sound of it. And when you met the drama queen with his shirt half-open who happened to bear the title, you liked him even less.

You were Jurassic Park’s head of publicity, and you had no real power over what went on within the park, but that never stopped the guy ranting to you about his hatred of the place.

Ian Malcolm strolled into your office at an ungodly hour of the night. Hammond must have told him you were awake, and although you loved the old man, you were going to have some words about this later.

”Y/N,” the mathematician began, and you were already sighing in frustration, “what the hell is this?”

He cracked a rolled-up poster down on your desk. It was crisp and shiny, looked like it was new off the printers. You began to pull off the rubber band holding it together.

”Are these animals a joke to you?” he yelled.

What was this all about?

”As the director of publicity, Mx. Y/L/N, I‘d think you’d be smart enough to not commit corporate suicide, even if you don’t give a damn about the dinosaurs. Not only are you a horrible advertiser, but you’ve disrespected this feat of science and turned it into a party trick-”

The poster in question was a vintage Barnum & Bailey poster, with dinosaurs and the name “Jurassic Park” edited in. You interjected.

”I’m gonna have to stop you there. I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong.”

Before he could blow another fuse, you held up the now-unraveled poster in front of him, an exasperated expression on your face.

”This poster is a joke, Ian. I made it because I was bored.” He froze, mouth still open. His head turned at a confused angle, and you let out a tired, disbelieving laugh. ”I was just making this for fun, you idiot. I would never advertise it like this.”

”It was… a joke?”

”Yes, I’ve said that already. You really think I want to equate this park to a circus? With all the abuse that circus animals go through? I want visitors to respect the dinos, not treat them like exhibits.”

He closed his mouth, swallowed, and had the decency to look a little guilty.

”Oh.”

He grabbed the poster off your desk, and shuffled to the door. Before you could return to your work, he leaned back into your office, his hand gripping the doorframe.

”I’m sorry,” he said, and you rolled your eyes.

“Don’t ever come into my office this late again.”

”I make no promises.”

His stupid smile.

Pedro Boys - Attachment Styles

A/N: I recently learned more about attachment styles and I really love the Pedro Boys headcanons in the fandom, so I decided to make one of these myself with the help of @din-damn-djarin (Thank youuu!). Excuse any weird wording, I wrote this fatigued as hell.

Fictional!Javier Peña - avoidant

Homeboy has been through some shit in his love life. With the way he treats his job and sex, I‘m certain the man is avoidantly attached, if not anxious-avoidant. I think if he had any time to think about love he‘d be more anxious-avoidant, because he would have time to crave that love. But here he is with his job and his little flings. Our boy needs some therapy.

Din Djarin - anxious-secure

There is a reason almost all of us write this hunk of metal the same way in our fanfics. He is distant, trying to protect his heart and creed, until you crack him and then he is definitely more clingy. I think he leans towards being securely attached actually, but that doesn‘t surprise me, he grew up with loving parents. If anything changed his attachment style it‘s the very conditional love within his covert.

Marcus Pike - anxious

Oh boy, you‘d think this man is securely attached, but he is fast moving and that is a trait of people anxiously attached. He leans towards codependency for sure. He‘s pouring into other people‘s cups before he fills his own. I don‘t blame him, he just wants to be loved and give love, but maybe he should train his self-compassion muscle a little more. We love that man so much, because he reflects a lot of us in his attachment style imo.

Marcus Moreno - secure-(avoidant)

He has a ton of securely attached traits which is amazing for Missy growing up. Since grief is a very tricky thing he is still avoidant of relationships and if he tried dating he’d likely feel like he shouldn’t been doing it. Once he‘s got a handle on how to grieve and honor his wife while dating, he‘ll likely enter a pretty secure relationship again.

Jack Daniels - anxious-avoidant

He‘s been through hell and back. Trauma on two feet. Can be an asshole, has unhealthy coping mechanisms and a lot of shit to heal. He wants love and also pushes it away. He needs some serious therapy. This man has a high chance of ending up in a highly toxic relationship, for real, for real. His fanon version is thankfully more secure-anxious leaning.

Dave York - secure-avoidant

I mean he do be married with a kid as far as I‘m aware. Means he is securely attached for the most part. At least when it comes to romantic relationships. With what he does as a character I‘d have to say that he leans towards avoidant though. He‘s just not giving me fully secure vibes and it ain‘t because he‘s anxious.

Oberyn Martell - secure

He knows when to ask for what he needs, knows how to fulfill his own needs, doesn‘t depend on other people to love him. Man has a good concept of self-love I would say. As long as you are okay with an open polyamorous relationship, he‘s probably a good person to learn to heal with. Poster boy for honoring your truest self and executing your core values (and dying for them, RIP).

Frankie Morales - anxious-secure

He is a people-pleaser, hates being violent, has PTSD. Perfect mix for someone anxiously attached. But he also has leading qualities, knows what he wants and has boundaries that he‘s usually trying to uphold. So I‘d say he is a mix between anxious and secure when it comes to attachment. I‘m sure he did some therapy at some point, maybe he needs a little more when it comes to his most recent adventure.

Maxwell Lord - anxious

He wants to do right by his son and the people he loves. He‘s a people-pleaser and craves the same attention and love too. He feels dependent on the approval of his son and since he now knows that he has that from him unconditionally, I really hope it set a good foundation for him to heal his attachment style towards secure and go to great lengths to promote the same growth in Alistaire since he‘s at a high risk to become either avoidantly or anxiously attached.

Ezra - secure

That man has his boundaries, his interests, cares about himself, reads and is well connected to his mind. For the situations he is in, he copes pretty well, so he‘s definitely securely attached as far as I‘m concerned. I don‘t see him being anxious, avoidant is also not a word I‘d describe him with. Secure in space, who would‘ve thought?

Max Phillips - avoidant

Man can flirt for days, but doesn‘t want any commitment. His the poster boy for avoidant attachment. He likes his independency, and he likes his power. God forbid he has to be interdependent with a woman. Nah, he likes his women non-commited.

Aftercare

As soon as you both finish, Vil’s running a hand through your hair with an expression that’s both fond and exasperated. Given the amount of edging the Vil had given you, you’re likely to be the more exhausted one. Without prompting, he’ll slip out off the four poster bed, pull on a floor length fluffy night robe and immediately prep the bath for you. If you dozed off, he’ll wake you gently and pull you to the bath where he’ll finally lather you with the attention you’ve been craving. “Come now darling, get up, I need to give you a bath.”

He’ll shampoo your hair, finger comb the conditioner on, and soap you up. He’ll pamper you, and let you soak in his wide bath tub with your favourite flower petals. He’ll linger with you, but not so much that your hands get too wrinkled. He’ll then gently push you to the bed and massage some lotion on your body and moisturizer on your face before he’ll finally choose to lie beside you.

Body Part

On himself--he loves everything. If he had to pick--perhaps his eyes? His eye make up had always been his favourite part of the make up routine. But he also loves how desperate you can get for his attention--just the slightest flicker off his eyes your way can set you off, and he relishes in his effect on you.

On you--he’ll love everything too. He’s however particularly partial to playing with your hair. Especially after sex, and after he’s finished pampering you--he twirls a lock of your hair around his finger as he hums softly underneath his breath, satisfied by the love you share together.

Intimacy

He’s not romantic during it at all. Like, he straight up ignores you majority of the time while you beg pathetically on the ground. In the rare times that he does initiate sex with you, he’s attentive and especially romantic--giving into you more easily to soothe your heart with his body.

He is, however, especially romantic during aftercare. He genuinely prefers to clean you up, and kneading your body with oils that make you smell like him. He knows he can be a bit terrible during the sex itself, so he makes it up through the aftercare. Too bad you’re often too exhausted to fully appreciate the way he pampers you.

ZZZ

Most of the time you fall asleep way before him. Right after you get out of the bath, and he sits you down to get your hair blow dried--your head will bob up and down as you try to stay awake. Vil will roll his eyes and a small laugh will make its way out of his lips, but he’ll patiently dry your hair before prompting you to go lie down on the bed.

Once you’re down on the bed, you’ll just fall deep into sleep, and it’s Vil who’ll resume his position from earlier--running his hand through your hair, and thinking about how you’re absolutely ridiculous but also--the one he adores the most. “One song... my heart keeps singing... of one love... only for you...” He’ll hum softly, as you snored away curled up at his side.

Idk if this is just me, but i have 2 irl friends. and neither of them like Marvel. 💀 anyways, me on the other hand having a 2 marvel walls. not to mention i'm literally wearing a captain america shirt while writing this. i cant anymore.

Axel Scheffler

In this post, Axel takes us on a journey through his art studio and career. As well as sharing wonderful development work from some of his much-loved picturebooks, he shows us unseen sketchbook pages, early illustration commissions, etchings he made as a student, and his recent work to educate children about the coronavirus.

Axel: I’m not really sure how many books I’ve illustrated in the 30+ years that I’ve been working. Over 150. I mostly work for the UK market, but occasionally I do books with German publishers. Not picturebooks though, so nothing that collides with the co-edition market.

Each of the boxes you see here contains one of my books: the sketches, illustrations, dummies, alternate versions of covers, everything.

I organised these boxes with Liz, my assistant, to have all the main books there so we can find things for exhibitions. There’s still lots of drawings in these boxes which aren’t sorted yet. Liz is such a great help, but it’s very difficult for me to keep on top of everything. I think I would probably need two Lizes, or perhaps three.

So yes, I don’t really know where to begin... I’ve got endless sketchbooks and little drawings on paper. I’ve got some really old sketchbooks I could show you.

My early sketches of the Gruffalo were thought by my editor to be too scary for small children. So I had to make him a bit rounder and more ‘cuddly’. Initially, I‘d also thought that all the animals would be wearing clothes, as they often do in picturebooks. But Julia had different ideas, and to be honest I was relieved. How would I have dressed the snake?

I tried a lot of alternate covers for this book; I think there were twelve in total. There’s some where the Gruffalo doesn’t even feature on the cover.

My latest book with Julia is called ‘The Smeds and The Smoos’. It was quite nice to work on because it’s so different from the other books we’ve done together. The text is a bit like a mixture between Dr Seuss and Lewis Carol; it has this nonsense element. But it’s basically Romeo and Juliet in outer space.

It’s an alien story, so I didn’t have to draw any rabbits or squirrels for a change, and I could invent more. I had more freedom. But like always, I got bored with drawing the same characters over and over again. But that’s picturebooks.

There was quite a lot of development work in the case of this book. But when it’s a story about a fox or a squirrel, I don’t do this kind of stuff. Over the years, it’s become much quicker and easier working on my books. I do far less research than I used to. Now I generally just do a quick pencil sketch then go straight to artwork.

Sometimes I have to start again because things go wrong though. This was a finished piece that was abandoned. I think I suddenly thought that the rocket was far too big or something. I do that; I work on something for ages, and then I suddenly look at it from a distance and realise that something needs redoing.

Did you spot the little Gruffalo in this picture? Since ‘The Snail and the Whale’, I’ve hidden a Gruffalo in each of my books with Julia (not ‘The Ugly Five’ though).

For almost all of the books Julia and I have done together, our editor has been Alison Green. We’re an old established team. And I’ve always worked with the publisher Kate Wilson; I followed her from Macmillan to Scholastic, and then to Nosy Crow. Julia moved from Macmillan to Scholastic, and decided to stay there. So Julia and I have some of our joint titles with Macmillan and some with Scholastic. Julia does books with other illustrators for Macmillan, and I illustrate other books for Nosy Crow.

People often ask me which of the books I’ve done with Julia is my favourite. It’s quite hard to choose, but I enjoyed working on ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’. I liked the way I could do a crazy world with animals, giants, fairytale characters, everything mixed together without anyone caring or questioning it. I’ll show you a few things from the box...

For this book, the cover was changed at the last minute. The original design had the title written on a poster stuck on a brick wall, but the sales people said they wanted a landscape, so I did another one. Years later, they used the original design for a new paperback edition, so it wasn’t completely wasted in the end.

I mentioned my endless sketchbooks earlier. I’ll show you a few of them. This was mainly me playing around without thinking about what I was doing; it wasn’t a conscious thing.

I haven’t looked at these sketchbooks for ages. It was such a long time ago. I don’t work in sketchbooks like this anymore, and I no longer doodle. But for fun, I make illustrated envelopes for friends.

I often think about doing a book with just pictures, but I’m always too busy doing other things. Posthumously, perhaps there will be time to do this. I’d also love to experiment and be more spontaneous; it’s been my dream for decades to do something completely different. But when I receive a book project, I always feel under pressure to finish it, and I’m always late with everything, so I end up doing it the way I’ve always done it.

This is my drawing table, which is and always has been too small and too messy. I think I have to accept it will always be this way.

I use Saunders Waterford paper for my illustrations. It’s funny how we all have our special paper. My rough sketches are often quite small, so I have them blown up to the correct size. Then I trace the sketches on a lightbox onto my watercolour paper. After that, I draw the outlines in black ink with a dip pen. I colour everything with Ecoline inks using brushes, and then coloured pencils on top of it (I use Faber Polychromos and Prismacolour crayons). I might then need to redraw some of the black lines, or use some white gouache for highlights.

I studied History of Art in Hamburg, but left before graduating. I realised this wasn’t what I was good at; I’m not an academic.

Then I had to do my alternative service as conscientious objector. Sixteen months. There was still conscription then; that’s how old I am. I worked with mentally ill people in their homes. It was during this time that I had a friend studying ceramics at Bath Academy of Art in England. I went to visit her. I really didn’t know what else to do, so I thought maybe I could move to Bath and go to the art school. So this is what I did. The course was Visual Communications, so it was design, printmaking, photography, all that stuff. But I realised I only wanted to do illustration.

I’d gone to art college hoping to learn something. I don’t think that necessarily happened, but drawing intensively for three years was, I think, what I had needed to do. I don’t remember actually finishing any projects though.

Here’s some drawings from my student sketchbooks. I did lots of observational drawing back then, which I don’t anymore. I did it then because they told us to. I’m an obedient person!

While I was a student, I did an exchange in New York: Cooper Union Art College for three months. These drawings are of Jewish immigrants, meeting for coffee. It was 1984, so many of them were still alive; refugees from Germany or Austria. I heard them speaking German, so that’s how I knew.

Sketchbooks are such a good way of memorising things. Nobody really knows about these sketchbooks; I used to take them to interviews, but they’ve been hidden away for years.

After I graduated, I moved to London and took my portfolio around. My art teacher had suggested I should do this to get work, so that’s what I did. In those days, you had to ring them and ask to come around. I got two commissions straight away, and it’s been busy ever since, really. I’ve always had something to do.

Here’s some of my early commissions. Starting from 1985, I guess. Very pointy noses...

I did so much of this kind of work. It was a good way of earning money quickly. Occasionally, I still do editorial. I did some Brexit drawings for the remain campaign. Sadly, it didn’t help. Maybe I wrecked everything!

I’ll say a few words about the KIND book... 38 wonderful artists donated a picture to illustrate some of the many ways children can be kind. Such as sharing their toys or helping people from other countries to feel welcome.

One pound from each book sold goes to the Three Peas charity, which supports refugees from war-torn countries. It’s been a big success so far, and Three Peas has received a lot of money from sales in the UK and co-editions.

I’d quite like to do the UNKIND book next! I think illustrators would probably enjoy that, but I don’t imagine it would sell very well.

And now for something completely different! Some etchings I made when I was a student.

People often ask me which illustrators I’m inspired by. I don’t seek any direct influence on my work, but I’ve always said that Tomi Ungerer had the greatest influence on my approach to illustration. Although his style is quite different to mine, this humour and wackiness is something that has always appealed to me. And the details.

William Steig is someone I got into later, when I was already illustrating. And Edward Gorey of course. And Saul Steinberg. I think the Czech artist Jiří Šalamoun is wonderful. And I like Eva Lindström from Sweden a lot. She’s so great.

Okay, to finish with I’ll talk about the coronavirus work I’ve been doing...

I asked myself what I could do as a children’s illustrator to inform, as well as entertain, my readers here and abroad about the coronavirus. So I was glad when Nosy Crow asked me to illustrate a book on the subject. I think it’s extremely important for children and families to have access to reliable information in this unprecedented crisis.

I also wanted to do something light-hearted to cheer people up, and I thought, “What if I imagine some of our characters in corona situations?” Julia liked the idea and wrote rhymes for the new scenes. This was really more about entertainment than serious information.

In the orphanage Super Nathan stood together with the young girl Lisa in front of the poster of the art miraculous holder looking at it.

„Where did you get that poster?“ Questioned the purple-skinned hero looking down at the blonde.

„Kérine brought it from the school library“ Responded Lisa. „They also have magazines for the students to read and there is a box, where the teachers drop the various posters, that come in the magazines.“

„Ah and so she brought you this one?“

„She brought all superhero ones. The newest one is from Lady Red together with Honey Bee and Miss Vixen with the caption girl power“

„Sounds cool“

„It‘s in the other room over Destiny‘s bed“

„Okay, “ Super Nathan said looking back at the poster of himself. „Would you like me to sign it?“ Questioned the superhero making the girl smile, then Super Nathan drew on his tablet a marker, which appeared in real life, making Lisa applaud.

„Awesome!“ Lisa complimented the superhero, that signed afterward on the poster his superhero name, then closed the marker again and gave it to the girl.

„You can keep it as a souvenir…..or I can draw you something else, what do you think?“ Super Nathan asked earning a nod from the girl.

„Can you draw me a backpack for school inspired by you?“ Questioned Lisa earning a nod from the superhero, that sat down on the bed from the girl starting to do his task on the tablet. Into the room entered Lady Red together with a brown-haired girl, then walked to the second bed, where over the bed hung a poster of her swinging her yo-yo.

„And my poster of you is here, “ The young girl said showing it to the Japanese superheroine.

„Rita, do you want Lady Red to sign the poster?“ Asked the blonde showing to the roommate the marker, then the brunette took the marker and gazed up at the heroine.

„I‘d love to, if you want Rita“ Lady Red responded and the brunette pressed the marker on the hand of the heroine the marker, then Lady Red signed the poster for the girl and handed the marker back to the young girl.

„Thank you, “ Rita said, then looked at Super Nathan drawing the backpack Lisa wished, then he stopped as he was done and a white backpack appeared with the logo of Super Nathan and a small Super Nathan figurine attached to the zipper of the smallest bag of the backpack.

„That‘s amazing!“ Lisa cried grabbing the backpack and hugging it hard. „You‘re the best Super Nathan, “ Lisa said giving Super Nathan a hug shrieking him.

„Aww, “ Lady Red said watching the girl hugging her idol. „You made her so happy“

„I could draw them something special, so they remember us“ Super Nathan suggested the blue-haired heroine.

„Like what?“ Questioned Lady Red making Super Nathan shrug his shoulders.

„Have you got any suggestion?“

„We could ask them?“

„You know, what would be really cool?“ Asked Rita. „If we had a dog“

„A dog?“ Asked Lady Red. „But that‘s a lot of responsibility“

„We could make a schedule of who walks when with the dog, who feeds the dog and when we go to the vet with him“

„Well, you need to ask Madame Livre for the authorization.“ The ladybug miraculous holder mentioned to the girl.

„And you need to find a breeder or a kennel to adopt a dog“

„A kennel would be a better solution, most of them are have been abandoned or been taken away from their old owners and they would feel happier to be in a house full of children, that love and take care of it“

„I‘m going to ask Madame, “ Rita said leaving the superheroes back.

„Is Miss Vixen in the other room?“ Questioned Super Nathan earning a nod from the Japanese girl.

„She‘s helping Kevin with his homework“ Responded the partner, then walked out with Super Nathan at the corridor to the room on the other side, where Kevin sat on the bed together with Miss Vixen solving the task.

„Hey what about a desk or two, where the kids could do their homework?“ Suggested Super Nathan.

„I think they use the dinner table to do their homework?“ Responded Lady Red.

„What about better bed slats for the mattress?“ Suggested Super Nathan holding on the metal-made slat.

„They could also have like in Japan futons“

„How do they look like?“ Questioned Super Nathan.

„The slat is usually made off wood and about 10 centimeters high and then you only have the futon over it. It‘s similar to a duvet“

„Okay, but I still need to see a picture, cause I don‘t know the looks of it“

„I could draw it if you want to“ Suggested Lady Red.

„I would let you, but it doesn‘t work, when someone else does it“

„Really?“ Asked Lady Red surprised.

„Yeah come on try it, “ Super Nathan said holding to Lady Red the stylon, which she picked, then she drew a cube, afterward he received an error message on the tab.

„Error: User couldn't be identified“ Read Lady Red out loud. „Now that‘s a strange thing“

„I think that‘s so, that when a villain has access to it, he doesn‘t draw anything dangerous to hurt somebody I would say“

„Well that‘s good“

„I don‘t know if people would actually be able to use my tab“

„If they were as good as you at drawing, it would be possible“

„It still has some complicated things, but if they‘re smart enough they manage to find out how to use it…..or to find the manual, which it actually has“

„Well that‘s useful“

„You know, what would be cool Super Nathan?“ Kevin asked the purple-skinned boy, that looked up at the boy, who had given Miss Vixen his homework to check it.

„No“ Responded Super Nathan. „What?“

„If you made bed slats look like cars“ Responded Kevin. „Well at least for the boys“

„I can ask each of them, what they want and then I‘ll do it“ Offered Super Nathan sitting down on the bed next to Kevin. „What do you think?“

„I think they would like it“

„Then if you want, we can start with yours,“ Super Nathan suggested and Kevin went down from his bed along with Miss Vixen.

„Hey I‘m going to ask the others, how they want their bed to look like, I‘ll be right back“

„Sure“ Super Nathan answered his girlfriend, then sat down with Kevin on the second bed and Super Nathan started to picture something on his tablet. Lady Red followed Miss Vixen to the other room, then watched Miss Vixen pick up the little girl Erin to spin her around, making the ladybug-themed heroine smile at the sight of it.

„Meow, “ A voice said and Lady Red looked back to see Cat Noir stand in the middle of the corridor smiling at her.

„You‘re here," Lady Red said turning around to him, then he approached her and looked together with her into the room, seeing Miss Vixen tickle the little girl as she sat on the floor laughing at the tall fox-themed tingle her on the sides of her belly.„You haven‘t had my sister in your arms yet, right?“ Questioned the blonde superhero making the blue-haired girl shake her head.

„No"

„This evening you really need to hold her. I promise you, that the feeling of holding a newborn in your arms is the most wonderful thing in the world“

„I believe you“ Lady Red answered making the cat hero smile gently at her. „Could you rest a little better, after I called you“

„A little bit“ Responded Cat Noir. „But I didn‘t want to miss this opportunity“

„Cat Noir‘s here!“ Shouted a short raven-haired boy grabbing himself on the legs of the superhero.

„Whoa little man, be careful, that‘s real leather, Cat Noir said jokingly making Lady Red hold her mouth to cover her laugh.

„That‘s not real leather Cat Noir, I know this from Zackary Jeremias‘ biography about you and the other heroes“

„There you right boy, it‘s artificial leather or maybe Alcantara“ Explained the blonde superhero.

„Can you sign my Cat Noir poster I have over my bed?“ Asked the boy earning a nod from the blonde.

„Of course, what‘s your name, if I may ask?“

„Christian“

„Nice, now show me, where your bed is, boy“ Cat ordered the boy, who entered the room, where Miss Vixen was to show it to Cat Noir.

An hour later, after Super Nathan had managed to draw everyone a new bed slat the kids were helping each other in pairs to cover their bed with clean bed sheets and the last two beds Cat Noir assisted Super Nathan placing the mattress back on the new slat, while Miss Vixen and Lady Red helped each other doing it on the second bed.

„Jason‘s fox-inspired bed is the best one, Lisa said looking at the bed, where a tan-skinned South Asian boy sat.

„I‘m glad you all liked it, Super Nathan said a little abashed. „I really gave my best to give you all something, that would not let you all forget this day“

„We can make it last longer if we all sign our names somewhere on the bed if they want“ Suggested the vixen heroine. „What do you all think?“

„Oh, oh, sign mines first!“ Jason announced jumping on his bed, making the others giggle.

„Alright, “ Miss Vixen said walking up to the fox-themed bed with a black marker, then signed her name on the wooden board on the end of his bed.

„Where‘s Damon?“ Questioned Lisa looking around the room to see, that almost everyone from the orphanage was there, beside him.

„Which one is Damon again?“ Questioned Cat Noir the blonde girl.

„He‘s around Erin‘s age“ Explained Rita. „He‘s only here for a month, he lost his parents in an accident“

„Oh that‘s sad, “ Super Nathan said sadly. „Is there a way we could help him?“ Super Nathan asked looking up at Cat Noir and Lady Red.

„You have tried everything Super Nathan. You and your team“ Madame Livre said as she stood by the entrance of the room watching the heroes around the bed of the Korean descendant boy.

„In which accident did the parents die?“ Questioned Cat Noir looking at the woman, then Super Nathan got up from the bed with a shocked face as he realized, what accident she could have mean.

„I‘m so sorry, “ The redhead said sinking his head down at thinking about the night of the airplane crash.

„Hey, hey, come on, I know this was bad, but try to forget this and focus on the future. Focus on the future missions we‘re going to face“ Cat Noir comforted his superhero friend.

„Since Le Paon had been defeated we haven‘t really fought someone really, really bad, “ Told Lady Red handing Cat Noir the black marker for him to sign Jason‘s fox-themed bed slat. „I feel we‘re like patrol officers, most of the times“

„We‘re still doing good things like protecting the citizens, stopping a robbery, grand theft auto, we even help the poor quarter from Paris. At least the real police force can focus on other important cases“ Cat Noir explained his girlfriend.

„And Paris is thankful for you all“ Madame Livre said, then one of the girls, that was inside the room ran at the woman to grab her on the hand.

„You have to see the beds Super Nathan made for us. All the heroes even signed it“

„That sounds amazing, Ruby“

„It was our pleasure“ Super Nathan said changing looks with the other superheroes.

„Thank you for welcoming us, “ Miss Vixen said to the orphanage owner giving her a handshake.

„Are you leaving?“ The adult asked. „Please be our guests for lunch.“

„What‘s for dinner?“ Asked Cat Noir and Super Nathan at the same time making the superheroines laugh.

„Chicken breast with mashed potatoes and peas“ Responded Madame Livre.

„You can count on me, “ Cat Noir said while licking his lips, then he watched his teammates nodding at the woman, which felt pleased about the heroes having accepted her invite.

„That‘s fantastic if you want you can all come down and take a chair. In 5 minutes it will be ready“ Madame Livre mentioned. „And Jason can you do me a favor and call the others for lunch?“

„Yes Madame Livre, “ The Asian descendant boy said getting down from his new bed making his way into the corridor to the other bedroom.

All followed Madame Livre out of the room, besides Super Nathan who stood back distracted, then Miss Vixen who was the last leaving the room noted, that Super Nathan stood back and she walked back to him.

„You‘re alright?“ Asked the vixen-heroine the boy, who shook his head and looked at Miss Vixen standing in front of him.

„Sorry, I was thinking about Damon, that…..just because of our failure he lost his parents“

„It‘s not your fault, it was just bad luck“ Miss Vixen comforted her boyfriend, who couldn‘t get that out of his mind. „You were all doing it right, the plane just had the pitch to get caught on the electric cable“

„Yes….“

„Let‘s go down and eat with the others, I promise you will feel better after that“ The fox miraculous holder promised giving Super Nathan her hand to accompany him out of the room to join the others for lunch.

ACCEPT's founding bassist Peter Baltes has announced his exit from the band. He said in a statement: "To all ACCEPT fans: I hereby announce my departure as bass player from ACCEPT. I have been with the band from the very beginning. Many of you were there as well. I‘d like to thank you all for the great years we shared together. Keep it metal.“ ACCEPT's founding guitarist Wolf Hoffmann commented: "We spent four decades together through thick and thin, ups and downs and I remember some incredible moments on stage. There was a blind understanding between us, personally and musically, which is very rare in this business! Looking back, I will forever cherish the carefree early years, the countless hours we spent writing songs, goofing around or roaming cities together on tour - just having a good ol’ time! Especially these last 10 years, after the revival of ACCEPT being so much fun and so successful that I thought we would continue forever and sail into the proverbial sunset together - maybe until one of us would drop dead on stage. But I guess I was wrong, it wasn’t meant to be. To see Peter leave ACCEPT now saddens me immensely but there’s nothing I can do but to wish him well - hoping that this is the right decision for him and that he will find whatever he is looking for… I will certainly miss my musical brother! One thing is certain, however: ACCEPT will continue full steam ahead!” Drummer Christopher Williams says: "I want to wish Peter nothing but the best in his future endeavors. Peter simply needed a change in his personal life. It has been an absolute blast sharing the stage with him over the last four years. He is one of the most solid rock and roll bass players I've had the pleasure of working with, and I've worked with many. One thing is for certain: I will miss my friend! Thank you Peter for the great memories and the great music. Cheers! To the fans: I'm sure this is a shocking moment for many of you. As a diehard fan of many bands myself, I understand that transitions like these are never easy, especially with the legacy someone like Peter has with their band. SK: Our next guest well may be best known to some of you for her array of comic creations – “a array” - from foul-mouth gran to not-bothered teen, but has done a billion things since then, including things like… anything you could imagine really! Doctor Who, along with some theatrical roles, not least penned by the Bard himself. Her latest role is as a presenter of the forty-second Oliver Awards, at The Albert Hall; all rise, for Catherine Tate.

CT: [comic voice] I thank you!

SK: I don’t know, I try and remember Catherine, it feels to me as though this is a novel experience – like we’ve probably not had you on before! If we have it was a long time ago.

CT: Oh, what on this show?

SK: On this radio programme.

CT: Never-

SK: -I don’t think we have-

CT: -never had me on.

SK: Phil!

CT: Bring me the h-

[incoherent talking over each other]

SK: Here he is!

CT: Oh right, so what was the, uh, what’s the story there?

SK: What’s the delay? Who’s to blame?

CT: What’s the story there, Phil?

SK: Let’s gang up on him!

CT: Wait ‘til I was hosting the Olivier’s, was it? Nothing on the TV impressed before?

SK: [laughing] What’s all this nonsense? Right, oh The Olivier’s is it-

CT: -oh yeah, alright, let’s get her in-

SK: -oh we’ll have that! But it’s a pleasure and a privilege-

CT: -thank you-

SK: -and I can’t believe we’ve not had you on before! What of my good old show-biz mates is someone you might know called Matt Horne?

CT: I have certainly… been in his company.

SK: Yeah.

[both giggle]

SK: I have not spoken to but I imagine he sends hugs or something.

CT: Yeah, I mean, I doubt it-

SK: -yeah? Not toughy-feely?-

CT: [giggles] No, I was speaking to him… only Easter Saturday.

SK: Were you?

CT: Yes! That’s how close we are, we-

SK: -Closer than me and him, obviously! I haven’t spoken to him all over the Easter weekend!

CT: Oh, you’re a complete acquaintance, whereas I’m in the inner circle!

SK: [giggles] Oh, you’ve worked… you’ve got some stuff together over the years.

CT: Oh, the laughs. The wigs! The teeth…

SK: The wigs! It’s mostly the wigs and the teeth, isn’t it?

CT: Matt’s very partial to a gold tooth-

SK: -ah, I can see that-

CT: -to characterise… my words!

[both giggle]

CT: He always feels a gold tooth is going to, um… And when we were on tour last time, I said, I said no.

SK: Just stop with the gold tooth.

CT: I said stop with the gold tooth, we’re playing to quite big theatres, no-one’s going to see it, and it’s five hundred quid out of the budget!

[both giggle]

CT: So, act the gold tooth, please!

SK: Yes! *** that’s a really good… that’s the kind of thing Laurence Olivier himself might say, isn’t it? [posh, deep voice] Act! Why don’t you try acting, darling, it’s so much easier?

CT: Yes-

SK: -Love that quote, if it is indeed attributed to him. But, um, I mean, the casual observer might be unaware, Catherine, but you are an inveterate board-treader yourself, aren’t you?

CT: Oh, I love it! I loves the theatre, I do!

SK: Was it theatre, TV, theatre, or was it TV, theatre? That was confusing, wasn’t it?

CT: It- no, it was theatre, stand-up-

SK: -oh that’s right-

CT: -TV, I… [posh voice] but I started in theatre as a child!

[both giggle]

SK: [posh voice] Were you a child actor?

CT: I was a child - well, not a child actor, well I suppose so, yeah, but-

SK: -not like one of those TV ones-

CT: -I was like, National Theatre, yep.

SK: Yeah.

CT: National Youth Theatre. So I all… and uh, like… yeah, youth theatres, youth theatre. That’s where I did loads of stuff. And that’s what… bit me, that’s when I got the – as they do call it, in fact – the theatre bug! And I loved it, I absolutely loved it! And then I went to drama school, did loads of theatre there – you get very little training in TV at drama school, or you certainly did in the nineties, I don’t think anyone thought the TV was going to take off much!

[both giggle]

SK: It won’t stick around!

CT: [Nan voice] It won’t-

SK: -it will be back!

CT: Let’s not bother! Um, let’s send them all out into, at the time, no reginal theatres, because they’d all gone, and of course… yeah, that’s all there was really, was, um, was TV stuff. But I did, yeah, my first job out of drama school was at the theatre. In the theatre.

SK: What was your first paid theatre job?

CT: My first paid theatre job was, um, “All My Sons” – Arthur Miller.

SK: Oh.

CT: And then I went into The National and did, uh, “Way of the World” and, a play called “The Prince’s Play”. And that’s when I started doing stand-up.

SK: That, that brings us into what we’re doing here, which is The Olivier Awards, ‘cos I think-

CT: -whatever the [incoherent talking over each other] are doing-

SK: -well, I mean, what is the-

CT: -it’s just waiting for Sunday really!

SK: It is, good now isn’t it? I mean, you know, just going to throw it in there, another reference. Does it sound like I know what I’m talking about – well I don’t! But they’ve got a lot of nom’s this year, haven’t they, with “The Ferryman”?

CT: “The Ferryman” is the most nominated play.

SK: Most nom’ed.

CT: I think it’s nine?

SK: Eight!

CT: Oh, eight, oops! Oh well, they’ve just lost one.

[both giggle]

CT: And- But of course, “Hamilton”! I mean, “Hamilton”, it’s the-

SK: [whispering] –tell me about “Hamilton”, ‘cos I don’t know… [normal voice] I mean, I see it everywhere-

CT: -yeah!-

SK: -and I think ******, I’ve got to go and watch it, I haven’t even got a clue what it’s-

CT: -Do you know what-

SK: -what it’s about.-

CT: -this is an absolutely true story about Hamilton; um, from my point of view. I knew nothing about Hamilton. Now, Hamilton is about the founding fathers of America, of which Alexander Hamilton was one of them. And it’s brilliantly realised in this incredible production, that is about the founding fathers of America, and mainly done in… in… you know, rap!

SK: I see, that’s the… that’s the way they’ve done it!

CT: Now, I was doing a show called “8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown”-

SK: -I remember it.-

CT: -right, I was… Before we went on, I was in a make-up room with Jimmy Carr. Jimmy Carr, who loves a musical – and this is a couple of years ago – and he had been to see a... had been to see “Hamilton” in America, in New York, and he said to me, “Have you seen Hamilton?” and I said, “Jimmy, I like a musical, but I don’t go to New York to go and see stuff that’s not here yet!” and he said “you’ve got to go, it was absolutely fantastic, listen to the music.” He absolutely loved it. And he said to me, “you know Miranda is going to be doing it here”, right?. Now I don’t know that he means Lin-Manuel Miranda, the co-creator and star of Hamilton, because I‘d never heard of him at the time, right-

SK: -[giggles]-

CT: -and so, all I know is that, I’m pretty sure this is a rap-based show, based on the founding fathers, okay, and I think he means Miranda Hart-

SK: -[loud laughter]-

CT: -right, who is a… who is a dear friend of mine, but I was… [stuttering] My mind was just going… I’m like, “sorry, are you telling me…”… I didn’t even get a… I didn’t even get an availability check! I didn’t… And I mean I was genuinely sort of… This tells you more about me than I want people to know… I was sick to my stomach! And I was like… And we’re about to go on and record a show! And the show really showed that when we… We were… When I watched the show, I could tell that all I was thinking of was “I can’t believe Miranda‘s got this part”-

SK: -you were distracted!

CT: Oh, yeah! I mean, I can’t blame that for getting no points, because I never score a point on that show, but I had an extra layer of…

SK: [giggling]

CT: And I was thinking, “I can’t… I genuinely cannot believe this!”. But Miranda Hart is the lead in “Hamilton” in the West End?

SK: [loud laughing]

CT: And, do you know, it was a year… it was a later. I carried that around-

SK: -No!-

CT: -and Miranda doesn’t even know this, I carried it around, and it wasn’t until I genuinely was in a cab, and saw a poster of “Hamilton”, and it said “Lin-Manuel Miranda”, and I made the connection, I had to make the cab stop, get out, and check! And then I said to someone, “You know Miranda Hart is not in Hamilton?” and they were like, “Of course she’s not in Hamilton!”

SK: [wheezing]

CT: And I was… So it made me, um… It tainted “Hamilton” for me-

SK: -Yeah, the whole experience-

CT: -because I was just thinking, but I could have at least been seen.

SK: Well, it’s like, it’s fine for Miranda to get it, she’s a contemporary, she’s talented. But I think, as you say, I would at least like to have been on the pick.

CT: I would have like to have been just a place at the table!

SK: Yeah!

CT: Just… Just, check out my rapping skills first, before you assume Miranda’s are better than mine.

[both laugh]

CT: That’s all I ask!

SK: It’s just ridiculous!

CT: That’s all I ask!

SK: It’s like when Les Dennis got “Network” over Bryan Cranston isn’t it? We all remember that!

CT: [laughing] You know what, it… [incoherent]

SK: But then, he was unavailable in the end, and they got Cranston at the last minute. But what a… You see, there you go, ‘cos “Hamilton” is all over it as well, so they’re going to do well-

CT: -“Hamilton”, they are the most nominated ever at “The Olivier’s”, and it is… You’ve not seen it-

SK: -I’ve not seen it-

CT: -I mean that is a proper-

SK: -That is the thing to… Is it still… It’s still on!

CT: Oh, it’s still on, that’s going to… [croaky voice] That’s going to run and run, love!

SK: But it’s getting yourself ticket! We had The Cranston in at work-

CT: -did you?-

SK: -and, amongst other things at the end of last year, and he came into that studio and spoke to us, just like the legend he is, and they gave- They said, do you want to go and see Network? I said I’d chew my right arm off to go and watch it. “You’ve got a ticket”-

CT: -[gasps]-

SK: -that’s fantastic, and then the day before they said “you haven’t got a ticket”-

CT: -Oh no!-

SK: -it had to go to some- I mean, Prince Charles or somebody, you know…

CT: Yeah, that the… That’s the… That’s the…

SK: You’re going to get bumped for Royalty!

CT: You’re going to get bumped for… Yeah, you are.

SK: What’s it like on the, on the night? Have you presented this before?

CT: No, I’ve never presented.

SK: *******!

CT: I’ve got a feeling, this is the first time they’ve allowed a, [mocking voice] a woman to present on her own!

SK: Yeah…

CT: [posh voice] They usually have a gentleman with her.

SK: [incoherent]

CT: -or a gentleman on his own. But for me, I… I’s got no-one!

SK: ****** ****! I mean that’s kind of… How do you feel about it? Are you… I don’t want to put-

CT: -I’m, I’m… I’m alright! I’m pretty good! Yeah, I’m not-

SK: -you’ve got the chops, haven’t you? I’m not worried.

CT: Yeah. Well listen, if you’re not worried, it’s going to be a breeze!

[both giggling]

SK: It’s going to be easy! I think… [incoherent] ‘Cos I’ve failed at stand-up like I’ve failed at many things. I’ve done it, and not done it very well, but I think that the thing is… To my mind, as a non-actor, what’s even more frightening about theatre is letting other people down!-

CT: -Yes! Oh yeah-

SK: -you know, that idea of… if you dry up-

CT: -absolutely-

SK: -and you stand up, that’s terrifying because it’s just you, and you’ve just let yourself down-

CT: -yeah, and you can-

SK: -but if you let the company down-

CT: -absolutely, and if you-

SK: -horrifying-

CT: -dry up, on your own stand up show, you can absolutely, and it is really quite advisable, to make stuff up!

SK: Yeah!

[both laughing]

CT: But you do that in the middle of, you know…

SK: “Hamilton”!

CT: “Hamilton”! And it’s… Oh my gosh! It’s a whole different… ‘Cos, you know, there’s no spoken words in “Hamilton”, if anyone were to drop a lyric, I don’t know how-

SK: -the whole machine would stop!

CT: Absolutely! It’s an incredible… It’s an incredible piece of art, “Hamilton”.

SK: Well, that’s something dangled in front of those of us that haven’t seen it!

CT: Well, I only got to see it because I’m hosting the Olivier’s, so-

SK: -well, fair enough. It was probably-

CT: -so get your name in early for next year, because it will still be on!

SK: It was probably you that for my ****** “Network” ticket, isn’t it?

[both laughing]

SK: It wasn’t Prince Charles after all, it was Catherine Tate, which is fine, I suppose… And, um, and it’s always fun to watch actually, but it is going to be on ITV1, at 22:20, for the military types listening-

CT: -oh yes, those types-

SK: -this Sunday! Not to be missed!

CT: That’s twenty past ten, in old money.

SK: That’s right, it is, yeah!

CT: It’s also, should you want this as an option in your life, and I know you do, the whole show-

SK: -unexpurgated-

CT: -broadcast live on their Facebook channel!

SK: Ah!

CT: So I mean, there’s really no excuse! And you’ll actually get to see a lot of performances from a lot of the shows, but the cast of “Hamilton” are going to be there, opening the show, so if you haven’t seen it, it’s a massive, massive thing to see.

SK: That’s so exciting!

CT: Cast of forty-three! “Forty Second Street”, come on!

SK: [cockney accent] What else are you going to be doing on a Sunday night?

CT: [laughing]

SK: [normal voice] You’re going to be watching that! The Olivier Awards, presented by Catherine Tate. And, and finally, before we let you go, is there any way… Apart from that, have you got any other TV stuff on the boil or is it going to be mainly theatre stuff, or other things, or…

CT: It’s going to be… The next thing up is theatre, um, but there’s always a bit of TV stuff on the go, ain’t there!

SK: [incoherent] No, I don’t know. [incoherent]

CT: Yes!

SK: I mean, I’ve been plugging away for fifteen years and I’ve got nothing, but I know-

CT: -not a sniff!-

SK: -Not a sniff of the butchers apron!

CT: [laughing]

SK: But you never know your luck! Oh, well, we can’t wait, we can’t wait, ‘cos we love what you do-

CT: -Thank you. Thank you very much.-

SK: -but thank you for joining us. Catherine Tate.

CT: Thank you!
