So pretty early on in The Fires of Heaven, our boy Mat hands a necklace to one of the Maidens to impress her, not realizing that giving a gift like that as a close as a dude can come in Aiel culture to proposing. Which means. This guy. Has not one but TWO accidental proposals under his belt. Incredible writing decision, no notes, RJ really said “I will explore cultural differences by making Matrim Cauthon get accidentally engaged as many times as possible” and that was the best possible choice

I think my issue with TFoH and why I am perfectly fine with an arc 4 is that as a regular wof book, it's passable. Kinda mid, but overall a good read. As a series finale, it falls flat on its face. Essentially all the book boils down to is one massive lore dump. Theres no huge battle, no deaths. It's already an underwhelming ending to arc 3, let alone the series as a whole
If Wings of Fire is going to end, it deserves to go out with a bang. Not the book where the protagonist spends the majority being held prisoner

honestly, the moiraine-lanfear event in tFoH gave me mixed emotions. i wanted to absolutely fucking grieve, i wanted to feel sorrow in every fibre of my being but that effin’ woman is all regality and stillness. i wanted to bawl my eyes out (i may sound dramatic and exaggerating everything but that character is embedded in my heart idc about u okay?) but as i continue to read that woman doesn’t let you grieve yk what i mean? cold and serene, undoubtedly.

Please be aware that the upcoming wheel of time meme compilation will not include a “this is so sad, Asmodean, play despacito” joke.
This is because these compenduims are an image-based format and also, I would have needed to have started reading this series five years earlier for the bit to have a chance to be remotely funny.

Not sure if dislike is the right word, but im not the biggest fan of book 15, big surprise, i know, but like... For a book tittled 'the flames of hope' i was expecting some action
When i finally managed to get my hands on book 15 and began reading i was legit yelling at the page for Luna to shoot the Silkwing being controled by Wasp, it was a sleeping dart, the Silkwing would have been fine, if she shot them, there was no way of the Hivewings finding the others that were invisible. Im sure it would take a while for another Silkwing to come over and try to detect them so they could have just flown away
And then we get to where the Breath of Evil was, i was expecting for Luna to use her silk and burn the plant entirely, since, yknow, whats gonna control her? The ashes? But nope, she was stuck on a mind room with a child and two zombies for... What 10+ chapters?
Oh and also Wasp is just one tapped by rainwing venom, which... Cmon just give Luna the kill
