Remember when Loki clearly cared about his family and it showed and he was focused on who he was and what his real birth right was and how Odin treated him :))?
And how his father treated him like shit :)) and how he felt unequal to thor :))
But now everyone's wondering if he'll kiss himself or some guy.
Both of whom treat him like shit and don't seem to like him :))
Please be so fucking fr. I am TIRED of marvel now.

Well like many, the Loki S2 finale has me still reeling and I have had this little drabble on my brain and had to get it out. I am not really a writer, I've not written a fic since I was a teenager probably lol so be easy on me but alas, I hope this is enjoyed by those who also just couldn't bear the thought of Loki being alone at the end of time forever.
Tumblr media
Description: Loki uses his time slipping abilities to talk to you one last time before making the decision he knows he has to in order to save those he loves. But, you aren't so willing to let him condemn himself to an eternity alone, or yourself to a lifetime without him.
Word Count: 1367
Warnings: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN LOKI S2 EP6!! Angst, sadness, happy ending mostly
••••••••••••••
"How are you doing this?", you asked as you watched strands of space and time float around you and Loki throughout A.D Doug's workshop.
"We're outside of time. Darling, I had to see you. I had to speak to you." Loki said, a sorrowful look on his face that you had never seen before. "The Loom, it was a failsafe all along. And no amount of scaling can account for infinite timelines. I thought we had it, I really did", he explained.
"Damnit, we should have known it would be...", you lamented.
"I spent centuries trying to figure it out, and it was all for nothing."
"Centuries?" you questioned.
"It's hard to explain" he responded. "Darling, there are only two options. Go back and kill Sylvie before she kills He Who Remains and allow the Sacred Timeline to continue--"
You cut him off. "You can't Loki! The Sacred Timeline is full of misery, injustice, and sadness - what the TVA stood for under He Who Remains was all wrong! We can't go back to that. And you know you could never kill Sylvie...not after everything we have all been through together."
"I know...", he said, a sad knowing in his voice and his eyes. "But there is one other way."
"And what's that?"
"Me".
"What? You? I don't understand Loki..." you said cautiously.
"The finite power of a machine can never handle the infinite timelines of a multiverse, but the infinite power of a God can", he said as he watched your face intently for any hint of reaction.
It took a moment as you stared at him, blinking. "Do you mean..." you questioned, as the realization of what he was saying started to set in.
"Yes, my love. Believe me, if there was any other way, I swear I would take it. But there isn't. I know what kind of God I need to be, for you, for all of us. It's the only way."
"Loki, if this is what you have to do, then please, take me with you at least!" you implored.
"My darling y/n, you know I can not do that. I must bear this burden alone, and you must go live your life on the timeline, the one you deserve to have. I could never condemn you to an eternity of solitude at the End of Time", he said sorrowfully.
"But you'll condemn me to a life of solitude on Earth? Loki, I can't live without you. There's no life for me down there if it's not with you! Please, as long as our friends are happy, and I'm with you, that's all I'll need. Please let me go with you!". The last part came out as a sob as your emotions got the best of you. You couldn't believe what he was talking about doing, the sacrifice he planned to make for the ones he loved.
"When I go back there, to that moment in time, you won't remember any of this. You won't know you said you wanted to go with me," he reminded you.
"Loki, every version of me across space and time would go with you. Even into the abyss, if that's where you have to go. I will follow you, I know I will!" you fully sobbed out as you threw your arms around him. The thought of him leaving you was killing you.
"They'll stop you if you try to follow me, you know that" he said, speaking of your friends back at the TVA.
"Then tell them not to Loki! Please, I'm begging. My place is beside you, always and forever, no matter where that place is."
And then Loki was gone and everything turned to spaghetti.
••••••••••••••
Loki slipped effortlessly back to just the right moment in the Loom control room, having been here in this moment over and over for centuries. This time though, it was different. This time, it was the last time. Loki looked over at you and his friends with a sad and knowing smile on his face. And then with one last look, he turned and ran down the stairs towards the blast doors. He knew he could keep you from following, lock the doors behind him with impenetrable magic. But he also knew that in your heart, you would never want to be without him. You would resent him forever if he left you on Earth alone.
You, Sylvie, and Mobius ran down the stairs after him immediately, but he was already through the airlock doors. The three of you watched Loki open the blast doors with his magic and start to step outside, absent of any protective suit. As you reached out to open the airlock door and go after him, Mobius pulled you back.
"Mobius, I have to go! I have to get to him!!!" you screamed.
"You can't! The temporal radiation will kill you if you open that door and go out there, you know that!"
"But it's going to kill HIM!" you cried out as you watched Loki walk out onto the walkway.
But something amazing started to happen. As the temporal energy shredded his TVA clothes away with every passing second, something else began to take it's place. Flowing dark green linen draped his form, traditional and humble shoes appeared on his feet, and a horned crown adorned his head. He looked absolutely Godlike and regal. As Loki walked closer to the Loom - this imperfect piece of machinery that took so much from so many - he lifted his hands, called upon his magic, and destroyed it in a flash of bright green and white light.
Then, there was darkness. Loki wasn't done, though. He reached out to grab a strand of time and suddenly it glowed back to life, his beautiful green magic allowing it to thrive. He grabbed another, and another. You, Mobius, and Sylvie stood silently in the airlock, watching as Loki brought the timelines back to life, one by one, gathering them in his hands. Above him, a chasm opened in the sky, revealing the End of Time. Loki looked back one last time at the 3 of you back in the airlock. He had no idea if you would really come after him like you said - but he wanted to see your face one last time if it was truly to be the last. Your eyes locked, and you knew now that the temporal energy was gone, there was no threat if you left the airlock.
"I have to go with him." you said to Mobius and Sylvie. "His worst fear is to be alone, and he is going to condemn himself to a lifetime of loneliness to save us all!" you said as you opened the door.
"Y/n, please! Stop! You don't know what you're giving yourself to." This time, it was Sylvie who pulled you back, holding your arm so you couldn't run down the walkway.
"Yes, I do. I'm giving myself to love. I'm giving myself to free will, to choice, to hope." you said.
"Sylvie, let her go," Loki called out. "It's going to be okay." he assured.
Sylvie let go of you hesitantly, and you started your walk out to Loki. When you reached him, he could not take your hand, but you took his arm. Together, you began to ascend the invisible stairs to the End of Time as he held the reanimated timelines in his hands. As you both crossed the threshold of the chasm to the End of Time, He Who Remains' throne and the ruins of his citadel came into view. Loki walked forward to the throne, the one he never wanted but was always destined to have. The timelines took on the beautiful form of a tree - Yggdrasil, the tree of life - the tree of the multiverse that Loki would tend to for eternity.
"This is where I'll have to stay forever, darling. I can never leave, never move. Tending to the timelines is my glorious purpose, my eternal burden. Are you truly willing to stay here with me?" he inquired.
"Yes, my love", you answered without hesitation.
"For all time?" He asked.
"Always".

Welcome to my Mega Problematic Sylvie post
I wanted to make a list of everything problematic about Sylvie in s1 and s2 because she gets away with whatever she wants and it bugs me to no end that she never takes accountability for any of the pain she causes.
You have been warned. So let's get into it.
Tumblr media
1. Sylvie’s way is the only way and she expects everyone else to just bend to her will without complaint
Tumblr media
2. She is physically mentally and emotionally incapable of trusting anyone besides herself
Tumblr media
3. She uses other people's emotions to manipulate them into getting what she wants
Tumblr media
4. She refuses to even entertain the possibility that anything besides her own opinion is correct
Tumblr media
5. She criticizes others' attempts to clean up the mess she caused while she herself does absolutely nothing about it
Tumblr media
6. Always looking to ruin and run, taking the easy way out and avoiding any accountability
Tumblr media
7. Puts her own need for revenge above the well-being of everyone else in the multiverse
Tumblr media
8. Blames everyone else for the problems she herself caused
Tumblr media
9. Insults everyone at the TVA for their lack of empathy despite it being the exact reason she didn't want to return in the first place. Every critique she delivers just illustrates how much of a hypocrite she is
Tumblr media
10. Berates Mobius and all the people who are actually trying to fix her problem even though they never once blamed her for the mess they're in
Tumblr media
11. Acts like she's doing everyone a favor just for being there and insulting everyone when in reality, Loki had to ask multiple times before finally getting her to return
Tumblr media
12. Never willing to put in more effort than just destroying everything and walking away
Tumblr media
13. Even when directly asked for her help, Sylvie straight up refuses. She couldn't care less about anything besides her McDonald's employee-of-the-month badge
Tumblr media
14. Sylvie gaslights Loki into thinking they're the same, that she's not in the wrong because they're both only thinking of themselves. In reality, Sylvie is thinking only of going back to her own timeline, alone, while Loki is thinking only of making his friends happy, because that's what makes him happy too.
Tumblr media
15. While being completely unsympathetic to Loki struggling with his greatest fear, Sylvie makes the decision that Loki's friend's are all better off where they are now. But is it really better for them, or just better for Sylvie?
Tumblr media
16. And now, after 11 episodes and countless requests for Sylvie's help, she actually cares about the rest of the multiverse. And yet it's still solely because her own timeline is finally in danger
Tumblr media
17. When Loki ends up sacrificing himself to solve the problem Sylvie created, her only response is a joyful shrug that she's now happy, alone, and responsibility-free.
Overall, I know Sylvie's only purpose as a character is to be a darker mirror of Loki and everything she does is understandably informed by her trauma. This is likely a result of having a limited-episode-series and having all male/not diverse writers creating female characters. Sylvie is used only as a comparison to Loki before he met Mobius, and unfortunately is never given any thoughtful character moments like Loki had showing how he was aware that his actions hurt others. In 1x1, Loki talks about how he doesn’t enjoy hurting people and only does it to maintain control. The only time we ever see Sylvie reconsider her actions is when she didn’t kill Timely, which I think is more because she saw herself in Timely as someone who didn’t want to be controlled by their ‘destiny,’ not because she developed any kindness or compassion toward him.
I understand the fact that Sylvie was never given someone like Mobius to allow her the opportunity to change like Loki did, but I don't think that should excuse her causing so much pain and being so self-centered. Sylvie never trusted or cared about anyone and that's also my biggest argument against Sylki; her loving or being driven by anyone besides herself is just so inconsistent with her entire character.
Anyway, my purpose here was not to be hateful or to search for any reason to criticize Sylvie, but instead to look critically at her character since I've seen a lot of people praise her as the strong, independent female Loki whose behavior can always be forgiven. Unfortunately, the way she was written is that Sylvie turned her own trauma into everybody else's problem and they all spent 2 seasons trying to clean up her mess. That's my take thank you and goodnight

Forget-Me-Not 4
Warnings: non/dubcon, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Characters: Loki
Summary: You return to your childhood home to put the past to rest.
Part of the Backwoods AU
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
You watch the dirt pour onto the casket. The caretaker shovels down the earth in a final farewell to a woman without mourners. You fold your hands numbly, waiting patiently for him to finish. There is little emotion to the affair. You just want it done with.
You don't notice the approach until a shadow wavers over the plot. You look up and nearly blanch at the blonde across from you. Frigga's golden locks are silvering but still finely coifed. She wears black in a mockery of the event. You're not offended for your mother, she harboured no good will in this place. No, you bear umbrage only for yourself. That clan truly thinks you can so easily be bought.
"You have my condolences," she says softly, lowering her golden lashes as another heap of dirt thunks onto the lid.
"Your son already delivered them," you reply frigidly, crossing your arms.
"It must be strange to be home again," she remarks.
"This is not my home," you insist.
She tuts and dips her chin. Slowly, she walks around the open earth and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with you. She fixes her posture and tilts her face in your direction.
"Then it shouldn't demand a high price," she sniffs, "we made a generous offer."
"Leave," you say, "now."
"It is only facts. Your mother can't have left you much more than her tab down at The Horn," Frigga intones, "you can take the money and go. You'll never have to see Hammer Ford again."
You scoff and jut your chin out, turning your face away from her, "you really think you can buy anything. Anyone. No, I want you to by that pit of dirt from the bank. You can wait, for once in your life."
"Careful," she warns.
"Or what?"
"You think the city has lifted you above us? That anything's changed--"
"Tell me, Frigga," you turn on her, "what can you do to me now? Look away? Keep your mouth shut? Just like you did before. You and everyone else, huh? Keep me at the point of your pitchfork? I am changed, Frigga," you snarl, "because I don't give a fuck about you or your last name anymore."
She inhales and her cheeks pinch. She glances over at the caretaker, old Foster, and gestures to him. He stills the shovel and nods, walking away, your mother left half-buried.
"My son was right about you," she squares her chin as she turns to face you fully, "you are a stubborn bitch."
You cackle and look around the cemetery. What a show she puts on. It's amusing.
"He must have mommy issues, 'cause he seems to like it," you rebuff.
Her lip curls, "I resent that suggestion."
"It's only a fact," you mimic her words back to her.
"Ugh, you are a smart one. You never used to be so mouthy. As I have it, you didn't make much noise at all."
You wince and bite down. Your teeth ache with the pressure of your fury. You could throttle her but you won't give her the satisfaction.
"Thank you for coming," you grit out, "my mother would've spat in your face."
It's her turn to laugh. She sighs it out and flutters a gloved hand at you.
"Think about the offer a little longer," she trills, "you know better than anyone, the future can take us to the most unexpected places."
You stare her down. He spins without hesitation and struts off. She waves and Foster reappears with his shovel. You take a deep breath and let it out through your nose.
Oh, you'll think about it. You'll think of the perfect fuck you for the next time an Odinson comes your way.
🏚
After the funeral, you drive to the small bank with its marble columns and arched double doors. You climb the steps and enter, the only teller behind the counter looking up at you. She greets you with a shaky smile as you approach. You know her, she sat behind you in physics; Marska.
"Hello, how can I help you today?" She asks.
"Well," you shuffle around the folder in your hands, "I need to close my mother's account."
"Oh?"
"She's dead," you say plainly. She knows, everyone does. They're all just playing that stupid game of pretend. They pretend that nothing's ever wrong. "I have her statements and a death certificate."
You lay both documents out promptly and wait. She stands from her chair and swallows, "let me get the manager."
You roll your eyes and sigh. You remember when she whispered with Kati during lessons. She was no kinder than anyone else. She cut off some of your hair and got you detention for swearing at her.
She goes off to fetch her superior as you wait. You clear your throat in the dull silence. She returns, walking slightly behind the man in his burgundy suit. You know him too. Fourth-period English.
"Hello, miss, I understand you want to close your account," he stands at the window as the Marska snaps her gum and twirls her hair. You glance between them. Really, they're fucking. You don't think the rings on their fingers were exchanged between them.
"My mother's. I'd also like to sign the foreclosure on her propety."
"Foreclosure. You understand you won't get any money back?" He raises a brow.
"I do know," you say firmly, "I don't care."
He types on the old blocky keyboard, sliding over the certificate and statement. He taps and clicks and looks at you again. "The account is closed. How would you like the eleven dollars?"
"Cash," you shrug, "and the foreclosure?"
He doesn't say anything. He turns to get your money from the drawer. As he comes back to you, you take it.
"A foreclosure won't come close to what your mother owed us," he says, "I suggest you seek a buyer."
You huff.
"How much would it pay?"
"Maybe ten at most. She owes-- owed us ninety."
"Ninety," you breathe.
"Like I said, it's a small town, I heard there's some interested investors--"
"Oh shut up, Pete," you shove the bills into your purse, "you're the same little toady you always were."
You shake your head and sweep around, marching out without another word. Even in her grave, your mother continues to fuck you over.

Hello i miss you. I cant help but feel excited when your request box is open. This is my request can you make yandere ror x kanae kocho reader. They really love her being down to earth but also fierce and powerful and elegant in battle.
Ror gods poseidon, beelzebub, hades, thor, hercules, hermes, loki and buddha
Ror humans lubu, jack the ripper, nikola tesla, qin shi huang
-Graceful and quiet, those were common words used to describe you, as well as dangerous and not to be underestimated.
-Looking at you, not many would believe that you were a warrior, you were rather petite and looked very gentle, but to those who knew you and have witnessed your combat skills, knew that you were way stronger than you looked.
-You were rather reserved, not really conversing with others, and if you did speak, it was the bare minimum unless if it was someone that you knew and were comfortable with, like your elder adoptive sisters.
-You adored your sisters, as they rescued you when you were a child, where you had abandoned your emotions to survive, your mind breaking and they spent years helping you heal as well as training you to be a strong warrior with the Demon Slayer Corps that operated under Lord Hades.
-You liked your work, as you would follow your orders without fail, usually with information gathering, but you were able to handle yourself if you were attacked.
-It wasn’t until you took a bodyguard mission after some demons had been reported in the area that you opened up a bit more when your client, (Love), was impressed with your skills when the demon had attacked the two of you as you reacted quickly.
-You had been injured, only minor wounds, but when he picked you up princess style, your eyes were wide in shock, “Why did you pick me up?”
-Your confusion and shock made him curious as he took you back to his place, patching you up, which you did thank him for before he asked you what you were going to do now.
-You pulled out your coin, something your sisters gave to you to help you make decisions, showing it to him and explaining it as you began to fiddle with it, going to make your decision.
-He grabbed your hands, making you hold the coin between them, “Make decisions for yourself- not because a coin told you to.” You had never heard such words before from another person and it was like your whole world opened up.
-You spent time with him, more and more, and your sisters were stunned, seeing you actively smiling and hanging out with someone because you wanted to!
-You weren’t aware, but they had a quiet word with (Love), threatening him not to hurt you as you had dealt with enough, something he learned after spending time with you, and he felt himself being drawn more and more to you until he never wanted to be apart.
-The day he approached you with a single red rose, which made your eyes go wide and your face flushed as he asked you to go on a date with him. Your bashful reaction was rather adorable, and it was one of those fond memories (Love) seared into his head.
-Adores you and treats you like a delicate flower, even though he knows you can handle yourself. He will take your bags if you have any, offering you the job of holding his hand instead, won’t hesitate to defend you from anyone, and is your biggest cheerleader when you fight. If you are fighting against a demon, despite knowing that you are strong, he always worries because you are important to him. Showers you with love and loves to see you smile, because seeing you happy warms his heart, and he never wants to go a day without make you smile.
-Hermes, Loki, Buddha, Hercules, Nikola, and Qin Shi Huang
-Fiercely defends you from others, putting his own safety on the line to keep you safe, despite telling him not to, as you didn’t want him to get hurt against the demons who invaded Valhalla. If someone insults you, like calling you stoic or emotionless, or telling you to smile or interact more, he’s hands on sight and doesn’t tolerate the slightest bit of disrespect being aimed at you. Knows that you are strong and that you are a skilled warrior, but he always worries when you fight because he doesn’t want to lose you. You are the light of his life and one of the few people who mean the most to him. If you give him affection he will melt but will always deny it afterwards, which you found adorable.
-Poseidon, Jack, Beelzebub, Hades, Thor, and Lu Bu

Thank you for your answer! I am a home Loki anon.
Due to your answer, there two questions that popped up.
Did Loki spirit behaved like slavic domovoy? I just need some more information to understand properly new information. And, because of this, would it be okay to somewhat worship Him as a home deity? I know that His domains don't have family and hearth aspects, but He always had a feeling of home, love for His family and warmth feeling.
Thank you for everything. Sorry, if it's annoying.
It's no worries! I would say Loki behaves a little similar. It's similar enough that I don't think it's unreasonable to venerate him as a deity of the home, so long as you're aware he'll probably focus only on his favorite aspects of home life rather than all of it.
Loki can make the house a happy place filled with fun and laughter. He's really great with children, and I feel like he has a special connection with storytelling by the fire. He also likes being included in the making of food, and especially the eating of it. Food is a joyful thing for Loki so you can expect it to play a bigger role in your life with him around.
What makes Loki different than the Domovoy in the fact he comes and goes. He's not tied to the house so he doesn't always inhabit it.
He also won't always encourage you to make the most adult decisions regarding the home. I can't think of a single time Loki encouraged me to save money when I could spend it on fun decorations, or to do chores when I could take the day off. He'll never say it's better to eat dinner before dessert, so you'll have to be the one to decide that on your own.
Loki may have origins as a domestic spirit, but he's Jötun by nature—a wild thing. He abides by his own whims and comes and goes as he pleases. However, he's not really one to leave the things he cares about unprotected, so even if he vanishes for a bit, it doesn't mean he's not protecting you.
(Side-note: There's actually another type of spirit in Norse heathenry that's more like the Domovoy than Loki is, and that's the Nisse/Tomte. Not all houses have a Nisse, but they can be encouraged to move in. Once that happens, they basically provide similar functions the Domovoy does; they protect the house, oversee the luck and prosperity of the family, keep the animals cared for, make sure things are kept well-maintained, etc. They also get frustrated when people don't care for the house, and when they don't value their friendships with them. Nisse are said to look like little men with long beards and pointy hats, but lady Nisse also exist. They're also small whereas Loki is not.)

"By The Way, I Think I Love You."
Julian Loki x Reader
Quote: "Fall in love with someone you haven't seen in awhile."
My Dearest,
Amongst the billions of people in this world we might one day simply walk past our soulmates and never even know that was them in the first place; with the only interaction being nothing but a simple glance in their direction.
We might spend every single day of our lives with them. Happy, ecstatic, and thrilled because you know that you’ve found the one. We might never get the chance to meet them at all. Always left wondering and waiting for someone that might never even come in the first place. We might be distant friends that are left simply wondering what if.
And maybe -just maybe- we might meet them soon.
Yours Truly
---
“Julian Loke?” You say incredulously as you spot him, a teasing grin on your lips, “the Julian Loke? To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Loki scoffs, “we just saw each other six months ago and now you’re acting as if I’m a celebrity or something.”
“Yeah, and all you said to me was hi in a passing glace,” you tease, “so I thought that I should take a more… appreciative approach. Besides, you are basically a celebrity after winning that gold medal there around your neck. Do you plan on showing off to everyone that you’re the prodigy that everyone’s talking about?”
“You say that as if this isn’t your third gold medal.” Loki rolls his eyes in an attempt to get you to ignore the burning hot feeling of his face, “and besides, not everyone is talking about me. Plenty of people talk about you too.”
Your eyes twinkle with amusement the same way that Loki remembers that they used to and it makes his heart race. The last time the two of you had a genuine conversation had been back when the two of you had decided to go your separate ways.
Loki had been the one to initiate the separation and what could you do but accept his departure? You very well couldn’t force him to continue to skate with him despite how disappointed you had been. And it wasn’t as if your friendship had been based solely around figure skating but Loki imagines that it couldn’t have been very easy for you to keep on seeing him so he made the decision to slowly disappear from your life. It was… hard.
Everytime after that had been nothing but the exchanging of pleasantries.
After years of brief conversations Loki’s glad to see that you’re still the same bright eyed girl that he remembers. Happy to see that the fame hadn’t altered the warm ice loving idiot that Loki had once been Loki’s best friend.
Loki clears his throat, “you skated well.”
“You did too.” You replied, smiling softly.
“You watched me?”
“Of course! I always watch your performances when I can. Gotta make sure I don’t miss out on any mistake you make.”
Loki rolls his eyes, “of course you do,” but smiles fondly, “you never did miss the chance to point out when I mess up.”
“Well someone’s gotta keep you humble, Speed King.”
Loki blushes, “oh gosh. Please don’t call me that.”
“What? I thought it was a cool nickname~” You smile brightly, “I’d love a nickname like the speed king.”
“The only nickname you’d get would be slave driver.” Another voice says, as a salmon haired boy pops up behind you, wrapping his arm around you comfortably. You lean into his touch ever so slightly rather than flinching away the way you usually do when someone wraps their arm around you.
Loki immediately recognizes the salmon haired man as your figure skating partner. If not for the fact that he’d watched the two of you skate together than from the way you stand beside him.
It reminds Loki a little of how you and he used to act around one another. There’s a certain comfortable ease that you and the salmon haired boy seem to have that comes with spending hours upon hours with one another.
“I’m not a slave driver! You’re the one that insists on skating as long as I do with your horrible stamina.” You exclaim, smiling as you look at the salmon haired boy.
“Says the one that’s always encouraging me to skate the routine faster or add in another trick that won’t even make it into the final routine.” The salmon haired boy turns to look at Loki, “oh, wow! You’re Julian Loki! I hope this one wasn’t bothering you too much. She’s a total figure skating junkie.”
“I’m familiar.” Loki says.
“Julian and I are childhood friends.” You explained.
Loki cuts in, “and I was her first figure skating partner.” Truthfully, Loki isn’t quite sure why he even spoke up in the first place and is absolutely clueless about what he says next, “I was there for all her firsts.”
You roll your eyes and smile fondly, “ah yes, being the first to see me fall flat on my face hundreds of times when I first started skating. Very exciting.”
“Well I for one would have loved to have seen you fall flat on your face hundreds of times,” the salmon haired boy says, his eyes never once leaving your form.
You nudge him playfully, “as if you don’t already see me fall on my face all the time during practice.”
“That’s because you keep trying to do moves that you haven’t practiced.”
“Well, everyone needs to start somewhere.”
“Not in the middle of practicing a routine.”
Loki clears his throat, “you’re still changing things up on the fly, I see.”
You pout, “hey! I only try to change things up during personal practice and it’s not like I do it all the time. I just get bored of doing the same thing all the time.”
The salmon haired boy turns to look at Loki with an expression that says ‘look at this silly girl’. Loki can only muster up a polite smile in response, his stomach burning.
“Oh, Julian. Is your mother here?” You ask, “I’d love to say hi. It’s been so long since I last saw here.”
“Oh, she’s already gone home after watching me skate. My dad had a headache so the two of them went home instead of watching the doubles. I’m sure she watched you skate on the television though.” Loki clears his throat, “you could come with us to dinner though. I’m sure they’d love to have you come with us. Your parents are invited too if they want to come.”
You smile, “yeah, I think they’d love that. Oh, do you want to go see them now? I’m sure they’d love to greet you. They’re always going on and on about how they miss you and watching the two of us skate together.”
“Oh, that sounds great.” Loki smiles softly.
You turn to look at the salmon haired boy, “you okay to head back without me?”
“Yeah,” he warily looks between you and Loki before nodding, “I’ll be okay. Will you?”
“Of course I’ll be okay.” You give the salmon haired boy a reassuring smile, “Julian will be with me anyways so if anything happens I can push him towards the danger.”
“Wow.” Loki pokes your cheek, “I’m really feeling the love over here.”
You roll your eyes before grabbing onto Loki’s hand like you used to do when the two of you were young, “come on. Let’s go before my parents leave. You know how much they hate to linger.”
---
“Dinner was nice.” Loki says, breaking the silence as he walks you home.
“It was very pleasant,” you smile, “just like old times.”
“Just like old times.” Loki repeated.
You nod.
The two of you had attended many dinners together with both yours and his parents coming together to treat the two of you after a long fought competition much like the one you had done today. Of course, the main difference is that the two of you no longer skate together but the feelings still feel the same.
What is different though has to be you.
Sure you’re the same playful girl that Loki grew up with but you’re simultaneously so different. So much prettier.
He’d never admitted it when the two of you were young but he had always thought you were pretty. He even went as far as calling you ugly one day which sent you into a flurry of tears and you refused to skate with him again until he promised to buy you shaved ice for a week. Now though, Loki doubts he could ever call you anything but pretty and even that seems like an understatement.
Who’d have thought that you’d turn into such a looker when you grew up.
His childhood best friend was now the girl that made his heart race and flutter. The one that made his heart skip a beat. The…
“Congratulations.” Loki says suddenly.
“Hm?”
Loki’s face heats up from his cheeks to the tips of his ears, “congratulation on winning gold.”
You laugh softly, “congratulations to you too.”
“Yeah. Who’d have thought that after such a rough beginning for the two of us that we’d end up as gold medalists in one of the biggest skating competitions of the year.”
“I did, of course.”
Loki laughs, “liar!”
“No! I’ve always believed in the two of us. I just thought that we’d…” you trail off.
“That we’d do it together?”
“Yeah.”
“Well it all turned out for the best,” Loki clears his throat in an attempt to get rid of that uncomfortable feeling in his chest, “I don’t have to worry about you not being fast enough and you’ve… found someone that matches you well when you skate.”
You nod, smiling a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes.
“You and Sabito are rather different.” You say softly.
“Different?” Loki asks, though more through politeness rather than curiosity, “how so?”
“You love the praise that comes with being brilliant while you’re on the ice,” you explain, “while Sabito loves the expression of himself that he leaves while on the ice. Both admirable reasons for being on the ice - well, as admirable as one can be when it comes to a sport like skating.”
“And which are you?”
“Which am I?”
“That is what I asked, yes.”
“Hm,” you place a hand on your chin before smiling, “why don’t you tell me? Considering what I told you.”
Loki sighs, rolling his eyes for what feels like the hundredth time. It’s a strangely familiar feeling that brings a fondness' to Loki’s chest, “you love the very ice itself.”
“Yeah, I suppose so.”
Loki chuckles, feeling a genuine smile form on his face. He’d forgotten how introspective you could be and in turn how introspective you made him.
“Hey,” you pout cutely as you turn to look at Loki, “what’s so funny?”
“Nothing, nothing. I promise.”
“Liar.”
“And how do you know I’m lying, huh?”
“Please. As if I wouldn’t. I was your skating partner for years. I’ve picked up on all your little habits and quirks. You have that same look on your face whenever that you would get when I would ask you to slow down.”
Loki laughs again, “and what kind of a look is that?”
“It’s that one where your eyebrows narrow ever so slightly,” you move your eyebrows as you attempt to replicate the expression for him, “and your eyes say ‘are you serious?’”
Loki ignores the pathetic skip of his heart, “I’m surprised you paid that much attention to me back when we skated together.”
“I’d be an awfully lousy partner if I didn’t notice small things like that.”
Ah, yes. That’s why he had never been all to cut out for partner skating. Not only did his best moves come from a speed that no one else could keep up with but because of his inability to notice mundane details like you. He doubts that he would have had any success in partner figure skating if he hadn’t been paired with you. Not that the two of you ever had much success apart from a bronze in the younger amature leagues.
He bets that the two of you would have done well eventually as you aged. Not only did you increase your speed in skating but Loki had gotten better at adapting to other people. It makes his heart ache as he wonders about what might’ve happened if he hadn’t decided to abandon you.
But this is for the best.
Or at least that’s what he tells himself as he thinks about the respective medals the two of you had won. Both rising up to claim the gold in your respective categories as young prodigies that had seemingly come out of nowhere.
Loki needed a chance to spread his wings and you needed someone like Sabito (Loki begrudgingly admits) that could understand you intuitively. That could help elevate you to another level on the ice rather than someone like him.
“Sabito always makes fun of me,” you say, smiling fondly as you look ahead into the distance, “says that I can read people like a book on the ice but can’t read a social situation to save my life.”
Loki rubs your head affectionately, “he’s not wrong. You are pretty dense.”
“Hey!” You duck lower to escape Loki’s grasp, “I’m not dense!”
Loki laughs, “according to who?”
“Ah, well um… okay maybe no one has said that I’m not dense but it’s not as if people go around talking about how…” you pause for a moment as you attempt to figure out what to say next, “how not dense other people are?”
“And how many people have called you dense?”
You blush, “that’s not important!”
“I’d beg to differ.”
You roll your eyes, moving to flick his forehead like you used to always do when the two of you were young after he’d say something to annoy you.
He lets you.
Momentarily allowing himself to bask in the familiarity it brings him. Allowing himself to pretend, if just for a moment, that everything was the same as it had been before. That the medals around your necks are the ones you won together. That you’re still just kids with big dreams instead of young adults with the pressure of the world on your backs.
He gives you a pout and an over exaggerated wince in pain.
You roll your eyes before leaning in to kiss his forehead.
He blushes brightly in response.
Luckily, you don’t seem to notice as you quickly pull away, preoccupied with your own blush, “oh my goodness! I’m so sorry! I should’ve asked before doing that! I was just so caught up in the moment and forgot to ask.”
“It’s okay,” Loki says, hoping his voice doesn’t sound strained.
You tilt your head to the side cutely, “yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“You sure?”
Loki smiles, “it was like back when we were young. You flick my head when you’re annoyed and then lean in to kiss it better because you feel bad about flicking me in the first place.”
“Gosh,” you pout, “you make me sound bipolar.”
“I mean, if the shoe fits~”
“Julian!”
“Sorry,” he flashes you an unapologetic smile.
“Well anyways, thanks for walking back with me.”
“No problem.”
The bright lights of the hotel glow in the distance. The idle chatter of the city distracts you while Loki finds himself hating the fast walking pace he had initially set wishing to have walked with you for a little longer. You yourself also have a tendency to walk faster than normal and Loki’s always liked that about you but right now finds himself wishing the two of you had for once chosen to take your time. That you had stopped to admire the roses for a moment and appreciate the moment you lived in rather than charging forward without a second thought.
But, Loki supposes, there’s always something that must be sacrificed if one hopes to achieve greatness.
He brushes the back of his hand against yours which causes you to turn to him.
He thinks that maybe, right now, he’ll allow himself a moment of reprieve. Even if it might lead to nothing. The words slip from his mouth before they can even form in his mind.
“By the way,” Loki cleared his throat, watching you with a serious look on his face as he walked you back home, “I think I love you.”
Fall in love with someone you haven’t seen in awhile.

A/N: I do not know much about actual Asgardian traditions and folklore based in Norwegian mythology. I'm kind of just making this up as I go along lol. So please don't study technicalities too closely.
Tumblr media
Dear Ingrid,
I'm at my wits end, dear one. I am plagued by worries. Now that my brother has sealed the marriage license, Ragnar and I have only three months until our wedding. Not only did I not agree to this marriage but now I am being driven mad with anxieties about the match.
He is a palace guard. Surely he knows much about love. However I find myself defenseless at the thought of romance. Perhaps he will make a fine husband and will one day make me happy. However, I know this can only be if I please him in turn. How can I ever hope to do that when I don't know the first thing about lovemaking.
I need a tutor. One who can guide me through the delicate act of intercourse. If only such a thing were real. I would spend every coin I had to know the things which I do not. Perhaps I might find a book in the palace archives about such carnal acts. That may be a good place to start. I only wish you were still here with me in the palace my friend. I'm happy to see you working so closely to animals in the stables. But I do miss you dearly. Especially in times such as--
Heavy footfalls caught your attention as you picked up your pen, looking down the long corridor. Just as you were about to set about finishing your letter, two burly men appeared from around the corner up ahead. You were currently stationed at a small writing desk which was just around the corner from the back tunnels which led to the kitchen. It was a quiet place where you could write to your friend in peace. In fact, before today you had never seen anyone use these passages. Despite there being plenty of walking room, the two men marched in the middle of the hallway where they would surely cross paths with you. Before you could think to move, the man closest to you caught the back of your chair in a large fist and set it off balance. You wobbled for a moment before finding your footing again.
"Watch it, scullery maid." He spat gruffly over his shoulder before the two men vanished around a corner. Something about them was odd to you. Asgardian soldiers, while tough, were often kind. The clear act of disrespect did not ring true for a man of Asgardian honor. The urge to stay seated was strong but you found your curiosity was stronger. Shutting your journal, you crept off in the direction the two men had gone. It didn't take long to find them since they lumbered quite slowly under the weight of their armor. You kept around corners and in shadow as you followed their silent march to who knew where.
They were running out of places to go, you thought as you noticed where you had ended up. It was a crude escape route which let out into the throne room. It was hidden behind the King's throne, which was impressively large. What business would these men have there?
They stopped before the exit, fidgeting with their armor. You stood behind, around a dark corner. With their backs turned you were able to try and get a better look. They wore classic Asgardian armor like the rest of the palace soldiers. That's when you saw it. Their capes were fastened incorrectly. As if by clumsy hands that didn't know the proper uniform etiquette. These men weren't Asgardians. That's when you knew your bad feeling had turned into something dangerous. They talked quietly but you were close enough to hear.
"Alright, you remember the plan?"
"Do I-- Bloody hell, yes I remember the plan. I sneak in and subdue the prince, then I spear him through the neck. It's not fucking hard."
At this you threw a hand over your mouth. Assassins.
"It's about time someone showed that cocky little raven headed prick that a Jotunn does not belong on the throne of Asgard."
They were plotting against Prince Loki. You couldn't wait to hear anymore. If you, a maid, had any chance of saving your Prince you had to act fast. You knew a passage that would lead out into the throne room so you beelined there. At this point you had absolutely no plan. You just knew you had to get the prince away from his throne before those bloodthirsty men got to him first. Soon enough you found yourself at the grand doors which would lead you into the throne room. With a steadying breath, you pushed them open.
You had expected the room to be filled wall to wall with politicians and nobility, allowing you to slip in unnoticed. However you were offered no such grace. It was empty, save for the royal family on their thrones. All eyes were suddenly on you. To burst into the throne room unannounced certainly would mean death for you. But if it meant your life for the Prince's then you'd happily make the sacrifice.
His was the first form you assessed. His chin had been propped in the palm of his hand until you'd come into the room. At the disturbance he perked up, a smile gracing his lips as if he was thrilled by the disruption. His eyes didn't leave you for a moment, studying you hungrily. Who was this delightful mischief maker, come to relieve his endless boredom? Your eyes however darted nervously to the side of his throne, keeping an eye out for his unwelcome guests.
Running down the center aisle until you were standing before the throne, you fell to your knees in humility. "What brings a young maid before me with no summons?" Boomed the Allfather.
"Husband, lower your tone. Look at the poor thing. She's frightened. Hear what she has to say." He seemed reluctant but eventually spoke.
"If Frigga commands it, so do I. Tell us, girl, what your business is here. Pray that it pleases me." You took a calming breath.
"Forgive me, O Great King, for this unacceptable breach of tradition. I sit humbly at your feet today because--" Before you could continue, you could almost swear you heard the latch on the secret entrance clicking behind the King's throne. You were running out of time.
"Because what, child? My patience is growing thin."
"Because ... I have come to seek Loki's blessing."
This made all of them perk up in curiosity. It must have been a long time since Loki was asked for a blessing with the way they all peered back at you incredulously. Then the Allfather shifted in his seat, adjusting his robes as if he had made a decision.
"Trickery, which I'm sure has been plotted by the Trickster himself. I suggest you go, girl. Before I find myself in an unforgiving mood."
"No, please--"
"I didn't plan this father." Loki interrupted you, speaking up for the first time. His voice was like warm honey to your ears. "Frankly, I'm quite curious what else the little mouse has to say." The two stared each other down for a moment before the Prince once again took the lead. "Why do you seek my blessing child?" He leaned forward on his elbows, as if he were on the edge of his seat awaiting your response.
"If it pleases you, My Prince, this is one request which I should wish to remain private. Thus I wish to share it with you privately." Everyone in the room focused their attention on Loki, whose expression gave no indication of what he might be thinking. The moment felt eternal before he finally stood and strode across the room until he was standing just in front of you, only inches away. As he leaned down to whisper in your ear you caught a glimpse of his throne. Just beside it you saw one of the men from earlier with a compact crossbow aimed at the Prince's back. This was the moment. Just as the arrow was unleashed from the bow, you pushed the Prince aside just in time for it to find its home in your shoulder rather than his back. It stung like Hel but you knew Loki was safe. You had done your duty.
Everything around you began to happen rapidly, plunging your mind into a dizzying frenzy. Guards emerged from the hall, the royals were off their thrones and rushing to Loki's side, the assassins were being whisked away to what would surely be a painful death. And all the while Loki stayed by your side, keeping you still and looking deeply into your eyes. Whatever happened now, it was worth it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Time had passed. Of that you were sure. How much time had passed, however, remained a mystery. The room around you was empty. And quite large, you noted. This recovery room was easily three times the size of your personal quarters. You were awestruck by the ornate gold fixtures on the walls and the plush deep comforter which laid atop you. This was much grander treatment than you'd ever been given.
As if on cue, a healer came rushing in from the double doors. "You're awake. I hope you slept well. How are you feeling?"
"Confused. How long have I been sleeping?"
"Don't worry. You've only been asleep a day. With an arrow in your shoulder, I'm surprised you didn't sleep longer." You looked to where the arrow had been and saw nothing but a bandage stained red. It didn't hurt at the moment though you were sure it would soon enough. While you would have gladly given your life, you were still grateful for the miracles of Asgardian medicine.
"You seem to have done a good job of repairing me."
"Of course. Each healer is highly skilled and trained in their craft. Of course Prince Loki made sure that you received extra special care."
"He did?" You gaped. Royalty had never treated you special before.
"Absolutely. No expense spared for the girl that saved the Crown Prince's life." You nodded, feeling somewhat embarrassed by the praise. You had only done what any Asgardian would. There was no reason why you should receive better treatment because you were simply following your sense of duty. "Speaking of the Crown Prince, he wished to be the first to know if you woke up. I've already sent a messenger to his rooms. Expect to see him shortly." With that nerve wracking news, the healer saw herself out. You wished she had at least closed the door on her way out. Now every noise in the hallway set your nerves alight. You decided it was best to just shut your eyes and try to rest a bit more before the Prince was to arrive.
Those ideas were quickly squandered as the sound of very precise heeled boots entered your chamber. Cracking one eye open you saw the silhouette of the Trickster God in the doorway. My, he moved fast. You opened both eyes fully and let yourself take him in. He was dressed quite simply now though he still had a cape flowing behind him in a dark emerald billow. He took slow calculated steps as he approached your side, eyes never once leaving yours. Your breath left your chest as, for the first time, you realized that you were in the ever closer presence of royalty. Your entire life you'd never been in the same room as royalty despite working in the palace. Now the Crown Prince was at your bedside, hand tenderly retrieving yours.
"I am elated that you are awake. I was afraid things might turn for the worse. Yet you are strong. You fought well my little mouse. You should feel proud. You've done your ancestors well." You could do nothing more than nod, transfixed by his deep gaze. "How are you faring?"
"I've only just woken up but I feel no pain as of yet."
"Good. I can make sure the healers help keep it that way." You winced. You were about to do yet another stupid thing. Refuse the Prince.
"Please don't do that, my Prince. There are many others more deserving of the healers' help. You truly honor me by treating me so nobly but I will be fine on my own. I assure you, I am no hero."
"But you are, sweetling. You saved my life today. You, a humble maid, saved the life of a god. If you think you dishonor me by treating it as a proud accomplishment I assure you that will not be the case. In fact, I would like to show you just how truly grateful I am."
"All of this has been more than enough. Really."
"I'm afraid that while I fully intended to reward you regardless, tradition dictates you must receive the proper honor for your actions. Each royal family member must designate to you, a gift. One they feel is worthy of the act of saving my life." You couldn't help the groan that escaped your throat. This whole thing had started out of service to the royal family. Now they wished to serve you? You couldn't let this be. "That is why I've come here. To designate to you mine, the most important gift." You squirmed uncomfortably under his gaze, unsure of what he was about to bequeath you. "To you I give ... a wish. Anything your heart desires, you may wish for it and I will make it so. Absolutely anything you desire. If you take my hand, the deal will be sealed with magic and I must concede to any wish you make."
"No. No, I'm sorry my Prince but this is far too much. I could never accept something like this. It wouldn't be right."
"Your humility in the throne room made me feel as though you'd say that. So I discussed things with my father. He is willing to forgo the proper tradition. Under one condition. You cannot refuse his gift ... or my gift. But that's only half of the gifts you were meant to receive. Can you accept this compromise? I can assure you that my Mother's gift would be sickeningly extravagant." He teased with a smile.
You hesitated. This level of kindness was unlike anything you'd ever received. Why was a god pouring so much into you, a simple girl? After a moment, you knew you had no choice. So you nodded.
"I need your words and your hand, or else this magic means nothing." You lifted your hand to meet his, taking his grip firmly.
"Yes. I accept the wish." With this, a brilliant green light snaked between your arms as if binding you before disappearing as quickly as it had come. You blinked for a moment, unsure of what to say now. "The Allfather ... has he decided upon a gift yet?"
"He has and he bade me tell you. He would like to promote you to a higher paying rank with a better set of living quarters. He feels that one who is such a true asset to the royal family should live as grandly as she wishes." You nod in resignation. For a moment, you look around the room and imagine that they were your own personal living quarters. It didn't seem so terrible when you looked at it that way.
"Now, little mouse. What is it you wish?"
"You want me to name it right now?" You asked frantically.
"Calm down," He laughed. "If you need time to decide, of course I would be happy to grant you that. However, I should warn you ... as much high respect as I hold you in, I am still a prince and a god. I will not be made to wait forever." You nodded your understanding.
"Of course, My Prince. If I may, I have a journal which got misplaced before this endeavor. I had started a letter to a friend in it. If this notebook were able to be retrieved so that I may finish my letter, I will make a decision as soon as I've heard from her. I'm afraid I'm sorely in need of advice on this matter. It isn't often I'm given a wish like this."
"Consider it done. Just tell me its location and I'll have it brought to you as quickly as possible. This friend, where does she live?"
"The palace, My Prince. We used to work together as maids before she was promoted to stable hand. Her quarters are by the stables."
"Excellent. I'll be expecting a speedy response then." With that, he stood and began to make his exit. However before he could completely disappear, he turned back to you. "If I may give my own advice ... I know a 'royal wish' seems frightfully intimidating. If I were you, I'd just think of what is most important to you. Then think of how you can accomplish this goal. That way you can make your wish as effective and meaningful as possible. Just make sure it's something that you want. You more than deserve it." Then he was gone.
Sweat beaded at your forehead as the adrenaline of having a candid conversation with the dark prince coursed through you. However the cool air calmed you down soon enough. With a heavy mind you began to contemplate what you might wish for. If better pay and living quarters was already taken care of, you were unsure of what else you might wish for. There wasn't much you truly desired.
Just as you were about to run yourself rampant an attendant arrived at your door with the journal and a fountain pen. "Thank you." You bid him well before hurriedly cracking open the page you had left off on.
By the Norns, what a day this has been! Before I could even finish my penstroke a couple of men crossed my path. Men with plans to assassinate the Crown Prince Loki. Through what I can only describe as equal parts bravery and stupidity, I tracked them down and saved the Prince's life while injuring myself in the process!
I now write this from the grand recovery room. I do so wish to indulge you in every detail but I've been put on a dreadful timeline. For saving his life the Prince has granted me a wish. He said that anything I desire will be mine. He expects a response quickly but I could not decide without your wisdom. Please ... I have nothing to wish for. Help me on this matter my dear friend. I will eagerly await your reply.
Signed, Y/N
Folding the paper haphazardly, you called out for a healer who would deliver the message to the right people. Once it was out of your hands you nearly collapsed from exhaustion. You had been through a wave of every intense emotion one could possibly feel in just a few short hours. You needed rest now more than ever. Knowing that it was out of your hands until receiving her reply, you decided to get some rest while the medicine made it easy for you to fall asleep.
"By all the gods, please. Show me the right path." You called into the night before tucking yourself in and falling into a dreamless sleep.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
A few days later you received a knock on your door. You had fully recovered by now but they had left you in the recovery room until a new chamber could be found for you. In only a few short days you had already become more accustomed to a grander lifestyle. However you felt yourself shrink into that tiny maid again upon hearing the knock. There were only two things it could be. A messenger with news from Ingrid. Or Prince Loki, having grown impatient and ready to hear your final answer. With a shaky hand you opened the door. It was a messenger. Joyous day, you thought.
He handed you the letter. You thanked him wholly and closed the door, tearing the letter open as you sat on the edge of the bed.
Dearest Y/N,
Such excitement! Of course I miss the biggest event of the year while brushing manes. You ask for my advice on this but if you read your last letter in it's entirety, you've already answered your own question.
The thing which plagues your mind above all else; your impending wedding night. You've just earned a royal wish from the god most well known for his sexual prowess. Ask him to tutor you! While he may find you brazen, that's the worst result that could come of the request! If he must fulfill the wish, then I say this is your opportunity to know that which you do not. Please keep me appraised of the situation. I will look expectantly and impatiently for your next letter.
Signed, Ingrid
As soon as your eyes finished scanning the words you were utterly dumbfounded. What exactly was she suggesting? No, it was quite clear what she was suggesting. There was no way in Hel you could ask for sexual lessons from the God of Mischief himself. He was a god. He would not lay with such a low creature as yourself. In fact, you were sure he would laugh at the idea. But then again, he had said he would honor the request no matter what it was. And Ingrid was right. Loki's ... skills weren't exactly a well hidden secret. You had heard he actually quite enjoyed corrupting an innocent thing like yourself in the ways of desire. Maybe it was the best thing you could wish for. You fought with yourself endlessly as you tried to think of something, anything else. The thought alone made your cheeks heat.
So many wishes in all the nine realms, and this is what you had come to? You felt as though something better waited out there for you. However, Ingrid's little idea stuck far more than you had hoped. With a deep sigh, you opened the door to your room. There was a guard stationed there at all times, per Loki's request. "Please tell the Crown Prince Loki that I've decided on my wish." You told him to which he nodded and immediately marched in the opposite direction towards the Prince's chambers. Every second you spent waiting was like agony. You paced and read and slammed your head into a pillow but still you waited. After an hour and a half a guard finally knocked at your door, telling you that Loki was ready to see you now.
With a deep breath and a brush of your skirt, you followed the tall man across the palace to the threshold of the Prince's chambers. The walk was much quicker than you'd expected which hadn't allowed you much time to breathe. Thus with a head of scrambled thoughts you entered, ready to acquire your wish from the Prince.
"Nice to see you again, mouse. I apologize for the delay. I was stuck in a fruitless debate with my father. However, I'm delighted to see you've come to a decision. Sit." He gestured to the sofa beside him which looked deep and lush. You obliged, taking in the sight of his royal chambers as you did so. Corner to corner, the room was exquisite. Gold plating and fixtures, surrounded by velvety green curtains and furniture. If you had thought the recovery room was large, it was nothing in comparison. The room you stood in now was only the front room of many. The walk seemed miles long. Once you were sat snugly beside him, you finally took a much needed breath.
"Still nervous, I see. Perhaps it would make you feel better to make your wish now, without hesitation. Get this weight off your shoulders and the hard part will be over. What is it you wish, pet?"
"I can't believe I'm going to ask this," You mumbled under your breath. "You see, my Prince, I am to be wed in three months' time. Yet I know nothing of what it means to be a proper wife. How to properly please my husband. I'm sure you know that your reputation exceeds you when it comes to certain ... skills. I'd like for you to show me what you know so that I may collect my own knowledge to please my husband with." You were absolutely certain that the god's lip would be turned up into a disgusted sneer. However the expression you found upon looking at him was quite different. Rather than repulsion you saw genuine delight and curiosity, a playful fire lighting his eyes.
"My, my. Such sweet proper words for such a ... filthy request."
"I'm sorry, My Prince. You're right. I don't know what made me so bold. I never should have asked for something so clearly inappropriate. Not that I wouldn't like to-- you know what I-- you're very handsome is all I mean. I'm afraid I've made such a mess of this. Perhaps I shouldn't have made the wish at all. I'll see myself ou--"
"Enough!" Loki's thundering voice filled the chamber, giving you your first real glimpse of fear by his hand. You sat back down and held your gaze on your lap. However he was quick to stop you, drawing your chin up to look back into his eyes. "I'm sorry to raise my voice, sweetling, but you've become frantic. Are you afraid that I am displeased? I can assure you it is quite the opposite. As you've so boldly pointed out, I'm quite well known for my talents. How do you think I acquired such talents in the first place? With the help of bold little morsels such as yourself. It would be an honor to pass on my legacy of pleasure to one less experienced in its ways. Besides ... you yourself are not by any means an undesirable prize. If I might be so bold myself, you are one of the fairest I've laid eyes on in several moons. It will be a treat to unravel you bit by bit before dressing you back up all nice and sending you off to pleasure your husband."
"Really, My Prince? This doesn't upset you?"
"Far from it. I consider myself quite up to the challenge." Seeing the enjoyment in his eyes made a small smile creep to your own lips. You weren't sure if you were happy this was happening or if you were just grateful to have the answers. Was some part of this because he was so handsome? Was it because he was the prince? Right now, you couldn't make out what you were feeling. All you could do was breathe.
"I must say, I expected this conversation to turn out quite differently. Forgive me if I seem shocked or lost for words. Only a few days ago was my first time sharing the same air as one of royal blood. Now, the Crown Prince himself says he'd be delighted to give me such intimate lessons. I hardly know what to think. My thoughts are a mess."
"My first piece of advice; stop thinking. You're so caught up in thinking about the future and the past that you can't see the moment right in front of you. It's passing you by. Just breathe and stay here with me, in this moment." You did as he instructed and took a cleansing breath. This time your breathing somehow made you feel ... lighter. After a moment, Loki continued. "That very much applies to your sexual encounters as well. If you are invested in each moment as it comes, everything will feel new and exciting. If you can show your husband how engaged you are with him, you'll have him wrapped around your finger. Then he'll be willing to invest in you as well. Like a well fitted puzzle. And with my help, you'll do so with ease mouse."
"I certainly don't doubt you. Your words alone-- I can tell you know of what you speak. I just hope that I am up for the challenge myself."
"Whether you see it or not, you've got a fire inside you dear. Just waiting to burst forth. I have a feeling you'll see it too. Soon enough." The man began to lean forward slowly before placing a small peck on your cheek. The intimate display of affection made you blush deeply. "What a pretty sight. Already blushing for me. I can't wait until the lessons start. Perhaps you should see yourself out now. I feel as though I may forget to be a gentleman if you linger."
"Oh." You blurted, confused by this. You were sure that he had already begun his lesson and yet he was asking you to leave. You blushed harder but it wasn't pleasant as before. It burned like shame.
"Don't seem so downcast, little mouse. You asked me to teach you and I do have a scholarly way about me. I'd like to formulate a curriculum and a plan for making this work successfully. I'll send for you once I'm ready to begin properly. Until then, think dirty thoughts for me pet." He gave you a dashing wink which was your clear cue to hustle back to the recovery room. Every step made your body feel more and more like lead. By the time you were in your room you had just enough strength to collapse on top of the comforter. You didn't even bother moving as you shut your eyes and let sleep take you.
The past several days had seemed like a blur. You never would have imagined in your wildest dreams that you'd be awaiting luxurious quarters in the comfiest bed you'd ever slept in after striking a magic sex deal with the God of Mischief. If you ever said it aloud you would burst into laughter. It was all so fantastical. So far beyond belief. You were sure the next time you awoke it would all prove to be a dream.

‼️ SEASON 2 FINALE SPOILERS ‼️
i'm having trouble articulating my thoughts but it just hit me how much change loki has brought into mobius' life.
that conversation they had in the past, when mobius told him about how he spared a variant and his partner had to do the pruning instead, got high praise for it and became a judge... i don't know, you can tell he doesn't regret it but he's so resigned. he knows that he isn't as trustworthy in his co-workers' eyes since he made that "mistake" — that his empathy, his showing mercy, his "heart of gold" isn't appreciated at the TVA. it never was and it never will be. he was demoted from his job and transferred to the department of analysts, fated to get buried under paperwork and never really seeing his purpose as anything but a heavy burden.
and then loki shows up, someone that mobius already admires, someone that he has been watching in the sacred timeline for at least a while, and in spite of all the signs pointing to trouble he chooses to trust him. a decision that, at first, feels like another error in his judgement, another failure added to the list, when loki bails on him in season one, but turns out completely different from what he imagined.
loki isn't just mobius' friend, loki represents hope. he's the only living proof that mobius' kindness isn't a flaw because loki appreciates that in him! he trusts his leadership and listens to him unlike anyone else in the TVA has ever done. but more than that, loki doesn't expect anything in return, there's no hierarchy, no give or take, they just make sense together. it's the first relationship mobius has ever had where there's no stakes, he doesn't need to be anyone's favorite analysist to have a place in loki's heart. loki just likes to be around him, whether they're working on a case or simply eating pie and chatting. point is: they make each other happy.
so at the end of season two, after loki steps through that portal and doesn't look back, mobius is grieving. he hasn't just lost his best friend, someone he deeply cares about; he's also mourning the loss of his hope, his purpose. so much so that he's grasping at straws to keep himself afloat.
you see, in season one, if mobius could go anywhere he would've gone to find himself in his own timeline. but when loki asks him about it in season two, he says that he's not even curious about it because that isn't his life, the one he has at the TVA, with loki and the rest of his friends, is. that's why when he's starting to lose hope that loki will come back, left alone at his desk, he decides to look for his file and see that other life. everybody else is moving on, so why doesn't he?
that's when i realized how much he loves loki because even when he's there, faced with a life he could only dream about (he even tells sylvie that his house is the best in the block and he likes the front yard. please, he loved it) he still hesitates. he doesn't want to move on, he wants to wait, if there's even a small chance that loki might come back to him.
to me, that's where we're shown that they're equals. we start the season getting introduced to a loki that's desperately slipping through time in search of mobius, running straight to him as soon as he's finally recognized. then midway through, we understand how much mobius, the TVA and the other characters mean to him and just before the season finale, loki stares into mobius' eyes and tells him "it was about what i wanted."
now, we're watching the same exact scenario. mobius probably tried to look for loki but couldn't go far as he doesn't travel through time like him, so he resigned himself to wait until it got to the point where he was aware he needed to move on. and yet, he can't. it's not about what he should or need to do, it's about what he wants and that's beautiful. it's such a relief that loki finally found someone that perfectly matches his devotion, after all the heartache and loneliness. i can't wait to see what they do next, that ending was nothing like i expected but heartbreakingly beautiful nonetheless.

Thank you for posting all those gifs of Mobius being kind and supportive together. I've seen some takes about Mobius deserving it, but logically it doesn't make sense. He's already doing everything he can to save the timelines. He doesn't want to know his past, nor does he need to know to be motivated to save the timeliness, because he's already been doing since ep 1. Even if we make the argument he has no real free will until he sees his past, this argument is disingenuous because he's using his free will NOT to see it. From a narrative and character development standpoint, he will be forced to see it for the audience's entertainment, because he is a fictional character with no free will-- the screenwriters are the gods (Time Authors, if you will).
In-narrative, you could make a case he should see his timeline if he were actively trying to keep the TVA the way it was, but that's not the case with him. Sylvie's accusations this fall flat.
Mind, I'm not against Sylvie's proposition to start from scratch. Revolutions are important and serve that function. But the TVA is the only organization with people who know how the Loom and timespace work. It's not unreasonable for them to try to stabilize the situation, save the lives of as many timeliness as they can, and consider dismantling the TVA entirely and starting from scratch later.
Since we're dealing with time paradoxes, it's possible that the collapse of the Loom is what causes Loki to recruit Mobius, B-15, and Casey (I'm not sure what kind of entity OB is?) from their timelines. If they all accept, then Loki was the original creator of the Heart of the TVA. It's possible HWR took over at some point in the future and wiped everyone's memories then. The future influenced the past, thus closing the time loop. If this is the case, then Sylvie also contributed to the creation of the TVA, because killing HWR triggered the destruction of the Loom, which will force Loki to recruit, which will create the TVA, which will monitor the multiverse, which at some point will be taken over by HWR to create the Sacred Timeline, which become the multiverse one again after Sylvie kills him, which will destroy the Loom, which will cause Loki to recruit.
Of course!!! Always a delight to and on that note we're truly seeing eye to eye on every single point you raised so thank you for such an amazing ask! Exactly the conversation I was craving after making those gifs just to get some things off my chest about how Mobius gets treated since as you said, he's already been doing everything possible to protect the timelines while clearly under incomprehensible pressure yet has never hesitated to evaluate and change his worldview accordingly to better serve the whole.
Honestly confused by those insisting he HAS to see his past and is in the wrong for not having done so because isn't that up to him?? Doesn't matter what his reasons are, he's entitled to his choices and I can honestly say without hesitation if I were in his shoes my decision would be the same. He enjoys his job, he's incredibly good at the work (people seem to forget he's facilitated the progression of basically every plot point), and has recently built more connections he appreciates and wants to grow than in the entirety of his life combined so why is he not allowed to make a single decision in his own interest when neither his approach to changing the TVA nor any other person is being impacted? But you're exactly right about how regardless he'll be made to have the experience anyway and while I'd be perfectly happy with that never happening I accept the advancement of narrative as a given and can only hope whatever cards he's dealt are ones that only bring him peace of mind about the work he's done so far and in the future.
(adding a read more here because I've got a feeling this is gonna be a long one, lol)
Have also seen many people saying Sylvie blowing up at Mobius was necessary or that he needed to hear it but that logic is completely missed on me? For example Ravonna did the same but considering the amount of history between them her reaction is fully understandable even if I don't agree with the points she made about his compassion being a weakness. Mentioned this to a friend earlier but I truly wish it had been some random character besides Sylvie who yelled at him simply because she doesn't have the kind of personal connection to make judgements and because I don't want any ship war elements at play or anything when my take is solely based around wanting Mobius to be recognized as someone who has been good and kind from the start? Watching him be put down for that as if it's fact in basically every episode is getting exhausting 😔
To that point I also agree with the importance and necessity of revolution but not sure starting from scratch is necessary when the TVA does have a solid base and plenty of people willing to stay and help the cause? In reality there's no time for anyone there to stay currently focused on anything but stabilizing the situation when the alternative is the end of every timeline, burning things to the ground only really counts if there's any ground left to build on which is yet another reason Mobius and the others switched to preservation. For example, O.B's quip about Sylvie ruining his life by killing He Who Remains was complete fact and while I don't have any hate towards her character at all and certainly don't want any mirrored scene of someone yelling at her, etc, it's driving me crazy how she refuses to admit they've actively been saving lives and scrambling to accommodate these unexpected branches while she was at a MCDONALD'S.
My ep 5-6 theory matches yours regarding about the collapse of the Loom being the cause of Mobius, B-15, and Casey ending up at the TVA because their Nexus event technically isn't one, it's them choosing to leave with Loki of their own free will and the good of existence. I'm also not sure if O.B. was ever a variant so he could possibly be the key to figuring out where Loki can find everyone's original self? Psyched to learn more about him and how he ended up in such a vital position! Hundred percent think the series is ending with Loki as the founder and probable ruler of the TVA but can't quite figure out where the switch to He Who Remains entering the picture fits in, and your point about Sylvie also contributing to the creation of the TVA in an infinite loop is a fascinating one that's going to leave me thinking for a long while so thanks for that as well and of everything I have to admit the possibility of Loki and Mobius being their own ouroboros in creating just the right person to intrigue and change themselves into who they always wanted to be has been giving me life, them as timekeepers along with B-15 has been my hope since the first episode of season 2 and is probably the most incredible place I could imagine leaving everyone if we don't get another season.

Just because it's not a "happy ending" doesn't mean it's not taking the easy way out.
What pisses me off is that the truth is that Loki absolutely takes the easy way out. It hides behind the brainwashed excuse. I will never stop saying everyone in the TVA presents way too much freedom of thought to say "Oh, they were brainwashed" and otherwise act like they were poor misled people. That's what it does when it shows everyone in the TVA normal happy people in their past lives. It would have been a million times more interesting if the past showed that Mobius was not a good person.
Agents of SHIELD really had so much better writing that MCU right now never could come close. That farmwork arc really gets me because hits with the fact how circumstances really shape someone. Fitz having the absolute existential breakdown over the person he could have been is heartbreaking. On the flipside Grant Ward, seeing that he could been a good person is almost tragic. It is a story that really live by the idea of good isn't a thing that you are it's a thing that you do. It does not take the easy way out and say these are good people tricked into fascism. No, it shows it is circumstances and someone own choices that shape them into the people they are.
AoS was so much more interesting that Grant wasn't an inherently bad person and Fitz wasn't an inherently good person. In the present life Fitz is a goodhearted hero and Grant planted his feet in the ground and continued down a path down cruelty and ego. It shows how life can shape people, good is not a thing you are. It's a thing you do. But Loki2021 does not do that in any kind of significant way. Fitz has a breakdown over learning the cruelty he's capable of and he didn't even hurt anyone real. Mobius tortures Loki in season, then is complicit in torture in season 2, and everyone in-universe and out talks about him like he is such a nice guy.
The sad thing is Loki2021 could been a deep statement on how "no one is immune to propaganda". If this show didn't hate Loki so much and decided the New York invasion was because Loki was angry at Daddy it could have made a parallel to how just like Loki, Mobius fell for an enigmatic figure promising him purpose and power. It could have been such a strong story about how people fall down the pipeline into fascism. But it doesn't because it takes the easy way with its characters. They thought the ends justified the means. They thought they were doing the right thing so they're not bad people. They were just following orders.
The show ends with the TVA still exciting. The people rebuilding "changing" it are the same people for hundreds of years did not think twice when wiping trillions of people from existence. People who did not think twice when putting collars around people's necks, stripping them, and having their "crimes" listed to them with no chance of being proved innocent or being let go. Don't worry now that they know the truth these people can be trusted to make the right decisions. Don't worry, now the TVA will only hurt the right people.

What a way to celebrate my return back to Tumblr!! Thank you all for your support as I was in Tumblr jail for a month. Never again. 🤪
Tumblr media
You unceremoniously flung yourself out of your bed, your longtime lover long forgotten as you scrambled to your feet in a flurry of bedding and limbs. Once you were finally free, you immediately beelined for the bathroom and flicked on the light to see your reflection. It was just as Stephen said. Your cut from earlier in the day was gone. Gingerly, you reached up and touched the skin of your forehead where stitches once were. Now, there was only perfect, unblemished flesh.
There, under the fluorescents in your bathroom, you stared at yourself with furrowed, confused brows. How could this be? There is no possible way your cut could heal so fast. Even if you healed quickly, it was like there wasn’t a cut at all. It was impossible. But then you remembered your dream.
            Loki.
Your eyes widened with realization as your dream came back to you, sending your mind into a tizzy. How Loki healed your forehead, your special day with him, and him telling you that you were….soulmates? How he begged you to stay. With every memory, your heart panged guilt. Loki is a god, but he was still a sensitive being who has been through more suffering and trauma than anyone should fear to experience even in their darkest nightmares.
And he was real. Truly, and undoubtably real. The look of bewilderment on your face slowly faded to a wide smile that threatened to crack your face in half. He was real!
You were too lost in the reality that Loki, the character you fantasized about on the daily basis, was actually real to hear your boyfriend coming into the bathroom with you. Stephen’s hand rested carefully on your shoulder, but you still jumped at the contact. For a moment, your eyes met through the reflection in your mirror. The once joyful expression on your face quickly souring into a frown as your happy bubble was popped.
“You have to leave,” You said flatly, turning your head away from your connected gaze.
There was a look of confusion that flashed across Stephen’s face, “What are you talking about?"
Huffing out a sigh, you made quick work to sneak around him and leave the bathroom. Stephen was right on your trail. Without even looking at him, you started to gather the few things that were his inside of your apartment and threw them in bag.
“I’ve made my decision. I’m not marrying you and we are not going to be together anymore.”
Stephen snatched the half full bag from your hand, “What are you talking about? We have been together for years. Where is this coming from?”
You sighed, crossing your arms across your body, “We haven’t been very happy for a long time, and you know it. We are only together because it is something familiar, not because we truly want to be. It’s time we move on.”
There was a new hardened expression in Stephen’s eyes. He scoffed, his demeanor suddenly becoming ice cold, “Oh, but you have no problem taking advantage of me? No problem calling me whenever you need something. No problem letting me pay that damn hospital bill yesterday!”
You paused, trying to find the right words before speaking, “I have appreciated everything you have done for me, but a relationship is not about keeping score. It’s about taking care of the one you love in whatever way you can and being there for them.,” You let out a long breath, “But sometimes that isn’t enough. We aren’t meant to be together.”
Stephen’s eyes blazed and his nose scrunched in disgust, before making quick work around your apartment and angrily throwing the rest of his belongings into that singular bag. As you watched him, you realized that one single bag of his items was enough proof that the relationship wouldn’t last. After all your years together, he had never made your home his and you never invited him to do so either. He was a separate entity in your life, a passerby on your life’s journey. He wasn’t your forever, but you had someone who was.
“Bitch.” Was the last thing Stephen spat out before slamming your apartment door behind him as he left.
You just shook your head and made quick work around your apartment. You had to get to get back to Loki.
All the curtains in your apartment were drawn closed and you dove under your bathroom sink and pulled out a basket of medications. Sifting through it, you pulled out a box of Benadryl.
“Non-drowsy.” You frowned, chucking it over your shoulder. Digging further into the basket you found an older bottle of Nyquil.
“Bingo.” You grinned, before chugging a few mouthfuls. A dribble of the green liquid went down the side of your mouth as your face contorted at the flavor of the drug. After wiping your face, you ran into your bedroom and buried yourself in the covers of your bed. One of your arms flailed out from under your covers to grab your sleep mask on your nightstand, quickly putting it on.
You huffed, laying on your back, the anxiety and excitement about how everyone of your dreams being real, Loki being real keeping you awake. Thankfully, the power of the cold medication you took started to make its way through your blood stream. The hammering of your heart soon gave way to a deep sleep. A sleep that would hopefully bring you to Loki.
The next thing you heard was the chirping of morning birds. You groaned, pawing at your face in a pathetic attempt to wipe the sleep from your face. Thankfully, your eyes quickly adjusted to the beaming light of the room. Sitting up, you recognized the room immediately. It was your given room inside the Avenger’s Tower. A grin spread on your face.
            You were back.
You almost fell right out of the bed; you darted out of it so quickly. The sleep still clung to your body like a wet blanket, making your movements clumsy and slow. But, still, you ran out of your bedroom, leaving the door open in your wake and stumbling down the residential hallway.
“Loki!” Over and over again you called out his name. Each time more desperate than the last. Regret had started to seep into your mind for chugging the Nyquil, thinking maybe it was why you were such a sleepy stupor. Your shoulder connected with the cold hallway wall when you finally heard running footsteps. A sigh of relief escaped from your lips. Without seeing them, you already knew who it was.
            It was Loki.
He rounded the corner of the hallway opposite of the common room, just as your half-asleep body entered it. The prince’s chest was heaving, and it was clear he ran as fast as he could from wherever it was to make it to you. His name died on your lips as soon as your eyes connected. Like magnets, you were pulled to each other. His long legs crossing the room in quick strides and your drugged body pulling you along without much thought.
Loki stopped right in front of you, only steadying you with his hands when you stumbled forward. Again, you breathed out, “Loki” your eyes never leaving his.
“You remember me?” He cautiously asked. The sound of his voice was like a balm to your aching heart. How could you ever not believe he was real?
You smiled, “I do…and I…” a breathy, surprised laugh puffed out from your lips, “I believe you. I believe you, Loki.”
The crystal blue hues of his eyes searched yours for meaning, and you wanted to reach up and kiss the crease of his brow,” What do you believe, Dove?”
“I believe that you are real. That I am really here, and this is not a dream.”
The words were so simple, but they hit Loki like a ton of bricks. His eyes were wide like saucers and his shook his head, his black curly locks bouncing. “You truly mean that…You…you believe that I am real?” The desperate tone of his voice broke your heart.
You took a step forward, now chest to chest with him. One of your hands reached up and tenderly cupped his cheek and your heart soared when he leaned into the warmth of your palm.
            “I do.”
A gasp squeaked out of your body as he picked you up and spun you around without warning. The surprise soon gave way to your silly giggles echoing in Loki’s ear. It was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. His strong arms held you tight, stealing the breath from your lungs.
“Can’t…breathe…” You gasped out between breathless laughs. As quickly as you were lifted, you were dropped down and Loki’s grip on your arms was the only reason why you didn’t collapse on the floor.
“I am so sorry, Dove,” He stroked the top of your arms with his hands, and you decided right then and there that you loved his hands on you, “Are you alright?”
Still, with lingering heaving breaths, you beamed up at him, “More than alright.” Then you launched yourself at him. He tackled you, so why can’t you tackle him? All is fair in love and mischief.
Your lips latched onto his with feverish desire. The reality that this man, this god, was real and cared for you like no other had before was driving your movements. Your hands tangled in the soft tresses of his hair and his wrapped possessively around your back, pulling you impossibly closer to him. Butterflies erupted in your stomach when you realized he was kissing you with just as much passion.
The hand gripping onto his hair tugged against his scalp and when you heard him moan as a result, your core set on fire. You took advantage of every moment, prodding your tongue against his breathless mouth until his started to tangle with yours. No words were spoken, but you moved in perfect sync. You jumped up and wrapped your legs around his waist, his hands gripping the soft flesh of your ass and holding you as if you weighed nothing.
With his mouth never leaving yours, he carried you over to one of the couches in the common room. He sat down with you now on his lap. The two of you were lost in each other, consuming the desire for the other as if you needed it to survive. You groaned as you felt his hardening length underneath you, and your needy body took over as you ground your core against him. His hands tightly gripped your hips and aided your movements, moaning into your mouth as he felt your clothed heat against him.
Even with the separation with your clothes, the feeling was electric. The coil in your stomach was quickly tightening as the fabric of your pants started to become soaked from your juices.
            “Loki…” You whimpered.
He pressed his forehead against yours as he pushed your hips to move you quicker against his length. Leaning back, he admired your flushed skin, how you mouth hung open with each breathless pant, and how your eyes closed as you lost yourself to the pleasure he was bringing you. The excitement of seeing you consumed with lust for him delaying his desire to rip off your clothes and fuck you until you cried. Oh, he planned on doing that and much more, but first he wanted to watch you come undone on top of him.
“Cum for me, Dove.” He groaned, the feeling of you driving him mad. As soon as he spoke those words, the dam broke and your body trembled, mouth agape as wave after wave of pleasure shot through you. Loki’s large hands gripped your hips tighter as he kept you moving through your orgasm, his godly fingertips likely leaving bruises in their wake.
Your movements slowed down as you came down from your high. A drunken grin was on your face as you pressed your forehead against his, “Mmmm, that was amazing, but we really should do something about you, my Prince.” You wiggled your hips against his hard cock that was still painfully constrained in his pants.
Loki shivered with pleasure, both from your movements and from your sweet endearment. He leaned back to look at you, and tenderly pushed a fallen piece of your fucked out hair behind your ear.
“Oh, I am far from done with you my….” Loki stopped his sweet purr, freezing in place as his eyes went wide. Then you felt it. The familiar trickle down from your nose. Quickly, you wiped away the blood with the back of your hand and you mirrored the fear that was written all over Loki’s face. With the excitement of finally realizing you had shifted into a reality with Loki, you had forgotten how your body was falling apart in the process.
The sweet moments of ecstasy vanished in an instant as tears pricked at the corner of your eyes, “Oh, God, Loki. I’m going to die. I don’t want to die.”
Your frantic cries seemed to take Loki out of his frozen state, and he made quick work to cover your nose. With a green glow, Loki tried to heal you, but it wasn’t working. Blood continued to stream down your face like a faucet and you panicking only made it worse. Loki pressed the sleeve of his shirt against your nose to catch the dripping blood, swiftly masking the shock expression on his face.
“Shh, shh, you will be alright. I won’t let you die. I promise you.” He stroked your hair as tears started to roll down your cheeks. “Look at me, Dove.”
He gripped your chin to encourage you to look at him and with wet eyes, you obeyed. The tender, loving look of his face gave you renewed faith. Faith in him.
“Do you believe me?” He asked, vulnerably reflecting back at you through his eyes. You nodded your head and he continued to stroke your hair. Fresh air was filling your lungs as the panic started to subside, but the metallic taste of blood still lingered in the back of your throat.
“Good.” Loki said, before cautiously lifting up his sleeve to re-evaluate your bleeding. It had slowed down signfiicantly and he let out a shuddered, thankful breath. There was a moment of silence between the both of you, as he wiped away the blood on your face with his sleeve. Each movement was careful and tender, as if you were the most precious and fragile thing in the world. The sweet gesture brought renewed tears to your eyes.
“There is a way to stop your dream walking, Dove.” Loki said, breaking the silence, “There is a spell the Doctor can do to end it for good.”
“But I wouldn’t be able to see you again?”
Loki averted his gaze from yours, “If you so choose.”
“What do you mean, Loki?” Your heart started to thud wildly in your chest, afraid of his answer, yet still desperately needing to know.
His blue eyes shifted back to you, and you noticed his hands went back down to your hips, the pads of his fingers thrumming against your body nervously. It was clear he didn’t want to explain, or he didn’t know what to say as his mouth opened and closed as he willed words to come forward.
“With this spell, you can choose to stop dream walking and remain in your world. The universe which you come from. Or…” He trailed off, swallowing thickly before continuing, “Or you can stay here with me. You would continue your life here, in this universe.”
The heaviness of his words hung between you like a thick fog. Did you want to be with him? Could you give up your life?
“What would happen to me…back home, if I do stay here? Would I just…go missing?”
There was a hopefulness in Loki’s eyes that you didn’t miss, “It would be like you never existed. No one would be harmed with your departure. You simply wouldn’t….be.”
“And if I went back home? Would you remember me?” Loki’s face fell at your question, but he answered anyways.
“It’s thankfully different for us here. Something to do with your world not having as much magic as ours. I would remember you, Dove. I could never forget you.”
You hummed thoughtfully as you processed what he said. There wasn’t much for you back in your world. Stephen and you had broken up. You were just fired from your job, and you weren’t on speaking terms with your family. The only people you would truly miss were your friends and you knew deep in your heart that they would want you to go, no run, towards your happiness. As you looked into Loki’s eyes, that is exactly what you saw. Happiness. Love. A future.
You leaned forward and gently kissed his lips. Just as you broke apart, Loki started to speak frantically.
“I understand if you can’t leave your life. I wouldn’t blame you one bit. I am honored to have simply met you and –
You pressed your fingers to his lips, silencing him, “I would love to stay with you, Mischief.”
Loki moved your hand away from his lips, his brows furrowed in confusion, “What?”
“I want to stay with you, Loki.” Fresh tears glossed over both of your eyes and for a moment, you thought maybe Loki had changed his mind. That he didn’t want you there by his side. But the watery laugh that bubbled from his broad chest brought on your own breathless giggles. Loki cupped your cheeks and peppered your face with kisses, pouring out his gratefulness with each peck.
“Let’s get the Doctor then, shall we?” He beamed.
So, that is how you found yourself laying down on a hospital bed in a room surrounded by glass, with Doctor Strange and Loki by your side. The other Avengers watched from behind the glass, Tony and Bruce clacking away at their computers as they observed and monitored you.
“Are you ready?” Strange asked you.
Your swallowed hard, your throat suddenly very dry, “Yes.” The anxiety and nerves were overwhelming. The spell and the idea of a new life frightened you, but you knew this is what you wanted deep in the depth of your soul. You turned your head to look at Loki who stood by your side. His hand was already holding yours and he gave you a reassuring squeeze. You knew, with him, everything was possible.
Dr. Strange closed his eyes and put out your palms, sparks of gold coming from his fingers as he spoke his incantation. You could hear him, but it sounded far away and soon, all you could hear was white noise buzzing in your ear. Tingles started to take over your body and you screwed your eyes shut to bear it. Still, you felt Loki’s hand in yours and it gave you the strength to not cry out.
But then it was gone. It was as if his hand had slipped from yours and just as quickly as the tingling started, it ended. Your eyes shot open. Everything was different, yet so familiar. You sat up and you started to sob as you realized where you were.
You were back home. You were home and without Loki.
“What happened to her?!” Loki snarled, charging right up to Strange. The god witnessed you vanish right before his eyes. In that moment, he turned to the doctor for answers. Was this normal? Was she coming back? Only to be met with silence. That was enough of an answer for him and enough to spark his rage.
He grabbed Strange by the throat, slamming him against the glass, “Where is she?!”
Strange looked at Loki, gripping at the wrist that had a strong hold on his neck. The sorcerer could defend himself from Loki’s wrath, but he didn’t. The Avengers that were just on the other side of the glass room rushed to enter to aid him, but the sorcerer shook his head, silently asking them not to enter. He knew the choice he made.
“She didn’t belong here. Her very presence was a danger to us all and was risking the destruction of our universe.” Strange choked out.
“Bring her back!” Loki growled, his grip constricting Strange’s throat more before releasing just enough to allow him to speak.
“I can’t. The spell is permanent.”
Just as Loki made the decision to snap the sorcerer’s neck, there was frantic banging at the glass where the rest of the Avenger’s still waited.
“We have a problem out here!” Tony yelled out. With a frustrated groan, Loki let go of Strange’s throat in hopes that whatever was happening would be a clue of how to bring you back. The team ran to the nearest window and peered up at the sky that was now cracking at the seams. The once blue sky was breaking into pieces like shattered glass, giving way to a purple vortex that threatened to tear their very universe apart.
Loki crossed his arms as he looked up at the imploding universe above him. In just a few days, he found you, fell in love with you, and convinced you to stay with him forever only to just lose you because of the arrogance of one man. He hadn’t even told you that he loved you. Their world deserved to burn for their crimes against you.
“What is going on, Strange?! How do we stop this?!” Steve cried out, the rest of the team looking equally shocked and terrified.
“We are supposed to protect the universe, Strange, not break it. Fix this, now!” Tony sneered, tapping his chest, and summoning his Iron Man suit to morph around his body.
Strange looked up at the sky, more and more cracks appearing as the world unraveled in front of them. He looked…. surprised. Genuinely surprised.
“I was wrong.” He simply said.
Natasha stepped right up to him with the same frantic expression as the rest of the team, “What do you mean, you were wrong?!”
Strange looked to Loki who still looked up at the sky, a pleased look on his face as tears started to roll down his cheeks, “She belonged here. She always did. I brought her back to her universe to prevent an incursion…” Strange sighed, looking back towards the window, “but sending her back caused it. Our universes are crashing into each other.”
“Can’t you use the Time Stone? Go back and undo the spell?” Natasha pressed.
“Not with an incursion. The damage to the universe is too great…” Strange swallowed thickly, tears pricking his own eyes as the fate of the world was sealed, “The only way to stop this is to bring her back, but once this spell is cast…there is no undoing it.”
              “But there is a way.”
The sound of his mother’s voice caused Loki to whip his head around. There, next to Thor, was his mother’s Frigga who looked calm as can be. Even during the end of the world. She had always been a source of calm to the princes, and now was no difference. Loki crossed the room in quick strides to stand in front of the infamous Asgardian witch, his adoptive mother.
            “Tell me how.”

By Your Side
Summary: Loki had always watched you from the shadows; from the places that his responsibilities were always forgotten. A place where he could solely focus on you. So when he suddenly has to flee Asgard and leave you behind; he can only wait for the day that he gets to see you again.
Pairing: Loki Laufeyson x Asgardian!Reader
Warning(s): None really; kinda angsty, kinda fluffy. Lemme know if I missed anything!
Tumblr media
Loki stood in the shadows of the palace, watching as you walked through the golden halls. He had always been fascinated by you, with your bright, curious eyes and your kind heart.
But he knew he could never have you; and that thought brought a frown to his face. As the adopted prince of Asgard, he was expected to marry a woman of noble birth with the sole purpose of producing an heir. He was not allowed to follow his own heart; and that thought alone broke him.
He watched as you passed by, your long, flowing dress brushing behind you. He wanted nothing more than to go up to you and tell you how he felt, but he knew it was impossible--he was not destined for happiness.
So he stayed lurking in the shadows, secretly watching over you and protecting you from afar. He knew he could never be with you, but the least he could do was keep you safe--it kept his mind at peace.
But one day, everything changed. Loki was accused by the Allfather of a crime he didn't commit and was forced to flee Asgard because of it. He knew he could never return; but taking you with him was a risk he was not willing to take. He would have to live with the fact that he would never see you again.
The thought of leaving you behind tore him apart. He wanted nothing more than to stay by your side, but he knew it was for the best. He had to protect you from the dangers that came with being with him--the dangers that came from fleeing the Allfather.
So with a heavy heart and watery eyes, he left you behind and set out on a new journey; one without you in it. He vowed to use his powers for good; to make up for some of the mistakes he had made in his past during his exile. But no matter how far he roamed, he could never shake the memories of you. He missed your endearing smile and your comforting presence; and he missed the way your laugh could enchant everyone in the room.
He knew he had made the right decision in leaving Asgard behind, but it didn't make the pain of losing you any easier.
Years had passed, and Loki found himself on some distant planet of the galaxy; working to protect its people from danger. He had found a new purpose and a sense of belonging, but he still couldn't forget about you.
One day, as he was patrolling the streets, he saw a familiar face in the crowd and it made him pause in his tracks.
It was you; you were older, but you were still as beautiful as the day he first laid eyes on you.
Loki's heart skipped a beat as he watched you walk towards him. He didn't know what to say or do, but he knew he couldn't walk away from you again.
He stepped forward and took your hand, drowning into your e/c eyes once again gave him a sense of home. "I never forgot about you, Y/n." he said, his voice full of emotion.
"I’ve thought about you every day. I'm truly sorry for everything I’ve put you through. All I’ve wanted to do was protect you from the evilness that comes from being associated with the royalty of Asgard."
You looked at him with understanding and squeezed his hand. "I know," you said. "I’ve never forgotten about you either. And Norns above I can’t tell you how happy I am to know that you’re safe."
A wave of relief crashed over him. He knew that he certainly didn’t deserve your forgiveness, but he will spend the rest of your time together proving to you that he was eternally grateful for it.
He leaned down and kissed you, feeling a sense of happiness and peace that he had never felt before. He knew he had finally found his place in the universe; and that place was by your side.
Together, Loki and you walked hand in hand into the sunset, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead and build a future full of love and happiness.

Hello, how are you doing? Can I request RoR characters react to reader following her grandparents/parents path and become a soldier? I'm curious who will support her and who will try to change her mind. How will they react to her returning after serving for a long time and what happen if she dies during her service?
-When you first announced that you were going to join the military, to become a soldier like your hero, your grandfather, had been in his youth, you received a range of different reactions.
-Many were worried for your safety, trying to forbid you from even contemplating the idea of become a soldier, even if you weren’t going into a combat zone, there was a chance you could get hurt. They would never threaten you into staying, heavens no, but they may try to guilt you, telling you how they don’t want to lose you.
-Adam, Eve, Zerofuku, and Tesla (who didn’t want to lose anyone else important to him)
-Many were on the fence, after you gave your argument that becoming a solider would provide you with skills that you could use in the future for a different career, and the military would even pay for higher education once you finished with your time. They wanted you to succeed and you made a valid point, but at the same time, they didn’t want to see you get hurt.
-Qin Shi Huang, Buddha, Kojiro, Beelzebub, Hermes, Loki, and Jack.
-And many were supportive of you, of your ambitions to follow in the footsteps of your grandfather. Of course, they were worried for you, anyone would be to see someone they care about going off to serve, but they were going to stand beside you and support this decision, as it was yours to make.
-Lu Bu, Thor, Zeus, Ares, Hermes, Poseidon, Hades, Raiden, Shiva, Hercules, Brunnhilde, and Odin
-No matter how long you had been gone, even if it was less than a month, they missed you, they all did, even if some didn’t say it out loud. Your letters were what kept them going, hearing about your adventures and assignments, where you were and what you have seen, you sounded happy, so they stayed strong for you.
-Upon your return after two long years away, you told none of them you were coming home, instead dropping in as a surprise to catch them all off guard and like before, their reactions were mixed but all happy to have you home.
-The ones who had screamed in shock before melting into ugly crying while hugging you, refusing to let others have a turn to welcome you home.
-Eve, Ares, Raiden, Kojiro, Loki (but if you mention it he will deny), Hermes, and Zerofuku
-The ones who were stunned silent, seeing you there before enveloping you in a huge hug before playfully scolding you for not tell them you were coming home and shocking them like this.
-Zeus, Hades, Hercules, Brunnhilde, Qin Shi Huang, Buddha, Jack, Adam, and Tesla
-The ones who just smile but you can see the tension leave them as they patted you on the head, welcoming you home, and commenting on how much you have grown.
            - Lu Bu, Thor, Poseidon, Shiva, and Odin, Buddha, and Beelzebub
-They all knew you were smart, having learned from them, you weren’t a greenhorn when it came to combat, especially after you decided to go into the military, several of them took it upon themselves to train you in both armed and unarmed combat so you would be better prepared, even if you weren’t going into a combat area.
-When the news came in that there was an attack on the base you were stationed in, most were ready to take up arms to come and rescue you. As reports start coming in of casualties, many of them prayed and hoped to whoever would listen to them that you were safe.
-It wasn’t until two days later when you were found in the rubble, still alive but only barely, being one of the very few survivors of the attack.
-When you arrived home, you were immediately taken by the valkyries to their medical facilities so you could get the best care possible in your recovery.
-The ones who had been against you going were the loudest when arguing with the others, saying this was what they wanted to avoid, but they were mad, not listening to those who were more levelheaded that you weren’t even in a combat area, but they too were made that a non-combat compound had been attacked.
-They stood by your side in your recovery process, watching you heal and get better. You were smiling like nothing hard happened, but those who knew the horrors of war could see that slight dimness in your eyes, you were changed, but you were alive and still with them.
-That was all that mattered to them, you were alive.

Favourite Stucky Fics of 2022
This feels a little bit like a farewell, but don’t worry... I’m never too far away! Here’s my favourite Stucky fics of 2022 :)
Complete
💙 FUBAR by Ginny_Potter/ @hipsterdiva (Post-Endgame Fix-It | 64K | Explicit): Steve jumps in the past to return the Infinity Stones and doesn’t come back. When Bucky travels to 2012 to look for him, the Ancient One tells him just one thing: “Captain Rogers decided to move on”. Back in the present, Sam Wilson is more driven than ever to find his friend, believing him to be lost in the Quantum Realm but Bucky knows, just knows, that Steve made a choice and the choice was to stay in the past. Struggling to cope with a world he doesn’t recognise, Bucky falls in an addictive spiral of jumping up and down the timeline under the vigilant eye of the Ancient One, just to see Steve one more time, just to get his next fix. And in doing so, without even realising it, he heals and in the end finds out if he was right. Or, Time Travel is addictive, Steve is lost, and Bucky slowly realises that healing together is better than healing alone.
💙 he said, there’s a paradise beneath me (she said, am I supposed to bleed) by voxofthevoid/ @voxofthevoid (Hunkyclunks aka Winter Soldier Bucky/Modern Beefy Steve, BDSM | 23K | Explicit): “If you kiss me like that, Rogers, you’re gonna have a hard time convincing me you want to fuck me.” “Can’t have that,” Steve says and— And the fucker bends Bucky back like this is a goddamn romcom and kisses the everloving shit out of him. (Part 1 of some sweet violent urge)
💙 The Devil and Captain Rogers by kocuria-visuals (kocuria)/ @kocuria, zilia/ @ms-zilia (Post-Avengers, Canon Divergent | 55K | Mature): Steve Rogers woke up in the twenty-first century and joined the Avengers to defeat Loki and save New York. But afterwards, he finds himself struggling to adjust to his new circumstances, desperately lonely and missing Bucky more than ever. So when the Guardian of the Soulworld visits him and offers to give him one person back from the dead, he jumps at the chance to get Bucky back. The only problem is, when he arrives in the Soulworld, Bucky doesn’t seem to be there.
💙 Maybe we’ll get it all (If we choose one night) by sourwolphs/ @sourwolphs (A/B/O AU, Sex Worker Bucky | 69K | Explicit): As it turns out, it’s pretty hard to find a job as an ex-firefighter omega with PTSD, no left arm, and no high school diploma. After the accident forced Bucky to leave his job at the fire department, he stumbles upon ComfortCycle— a service that helps alphas and omegas get through their heat and rut cycles— and becomes a trained Cycle Partner. And for the first time in his 34 years of life, lonely, rich alpha Steve Rogers is considering paying for sex.
💙 Blooming Under the Dappled Light by thiccbuckybarnes/ @thiccbuckybarnesfic (Historical AU, Secret Identity | 52K | Explicit): Despite being the son of a gentleman, James “Bucky” Barnes could scarcely allow himself the hope of one day being tied to another in happy matrimony. In a society where the first-born children are revered and inherit all of a family’s wealth, last-born Bucky feels trapped in a life he did not ask for. When he makes the drastic decision to run away and become a tutor for a wealthy family, he is hoping to save enough pennies to someday have a dowry and be worthy for marriage despite his deposition. What he is not anticipating, however, is falling into the rough and skilled hands of his employer, the rakish widow Lord Steven Rogers.
💙 Okay, so he can play… (pretty’s got nothing to do with it) by darter_blue/ @darter-blue (University Hockey AU | 50K | Explicit): This is supposed to be Steve’s year. He’s meant to be taking his team to finals. He’s meant to be the number one draft pick. He’s meant to have it all. Until in walks the new kid, with his beautiful face and his tiny shoulders and his long hair and his graceful skating. Who doesn’t look anything like a proper hockey player. Who’s going to ruin everything. Bucky Barnes is about to bring Steve Roger’s world crashing down. And Steve is about to realise that’s a good thing.Maybe the best thing that ever happened to him.
💙 Rhapsody on a Theme by Astaraiche, Bittersweet_in_Boston (Orchestra AU | 41K | Explicit): in which Steve Rogers, principal cellist at the Boston Symphony Orchestra, meets Bucky Barnes, piano soloist and BSO artist in residence, and the inevitable occurs.
💙  Read, White & Blue by JJK/ @trenchcoatsandtimetravel (Shrunkyclunks, Librarian Bucky | 99K | Teen): If Steve was certain one thing would have stayed the same during his sixty-something years in the ice, it was that libraries were still the place to go if you needed information. And Steve needed information. Lots and lots of it. aka Librarian Bucky helps freshly desfrosted Steve learn how to use computers and catch up on everything he missed whilst he was in the ice.
WIP
💙 hey now, you’re an all star (get your game on, go play) by buckyismybicycle/ @buckyismybicycle (NHL Hockey AU | 18/? | 55K | Explicit): Boston Bruins trade notorious party animal/human disaster Bucky Barnes to the Dallas Stars, and captain Steve Rogers is not impressed when Fury puts him on babysitting duties. But, as he gets to know Bucky - really gets to know Bucky - he wonders if maybe the media has got it all wrong - very, very wrong.
💙 Love isn’t always a ‘coup de foudre’ by Becassine/ @becassine, kocuria-visuals (kocuria)/ @kocuria (Bridgerton AU, A/B/O | 6/13 | 26K | Explicit): When Steve Rogers is presented at Court as a desirable Male Omega to the world, he has no idea what to expect. But after meeting the sought-after Duke of Buchanan through a chance encounter, his life is forever turned upside down.
💙 A Story We Must Tell by AHM1121/ @love-ha-fge, MissyRivers (Modern AU, Fisherman Steve, Writer Bucky | 8/15 | 61K | Explicit): Or, the story of how ex-military turned Author - James Barnes collides with ex- Army Commander turned Lumberjack/Fisherman Steve Rogers and all the ensuing fluff, drama, romance that comes their way.
💙 This is (not) a Ghost Story [COMIC] by PottersPink/ @potterspink (Post-WS | 10/31 | General): Steve moves into a haunted house. Well — everyone else is convinced it’s haunted, anyways.
