MCD#1 DONATION COMMISSIONS!

hi guys!! as many of you already know, a really bad earthquake has hit the turkey and syria area. to do my part in helping rescue efforts, i will be opening donation commissions!

what are they?

donation commissions are in the name: you donate to a charity that’ll use the funds towards humanitarian relief, and i’ll write you a request!

where can i donate?

i encourage you to do your own research to pick out a reliable and honest organization. as a starting point, this new york times article has a list of organizations that are accepting donations.

how will it work?

you will dm me a timestamped screenshot of your donation, and i’ll write you a request! i will write 100 words for every $1 usd donated, and you can pick between headcanons or written oneshots! i will ask that in the case of larger donations, i will cap the word count at anywhere from 8k-10k words, solely for my own stamina.

I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS FOR LANTERN RITE

Spoilers below

First of all, I spent the entire time dreading what pain Gaming's plotline would have brought me. I was stressing the entire time! I'm sure the plotline is hitting too close to home for some of us...

Which brings me to the ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS GROUP OF THOUSAND YEAR OLDS (and their children) BEING CHAOTIC MESSES

Moon Carver and Mountain Shaper are the comedic duo i did not anticipate, but the moment they did their dialogue to distract Gaming, I couldn't stop cackling. Please, they're both stupidly hilarious! THE DUST THEY WERE MAKING AS THEY RAN WAS SO COMICAL. I love their npc looking asses lmaaaooooo

Zhongli randomly appearing surprised me! But you know what surprised me even more? XIAO (the amount of screenshots I took when he appeared...). I am absolutely sure Zhongli went all the way to Wangshu just to get Xiao to meet with him. We gotta appreciate Zhongli managing to get Xiao to consider visiting him more (pls visit Zhongli more often Xiao)

BUT THAT BEGS THE QUESTION: Do we have a date tomorrow??? With Xiao? Please let it be us Xiao. We love kite flying (also thanks again Zhongli for promting this) HOYO PLEASE LET THIS BE ANOTHER XIAO DATE!

Another comedic duo I did not expect are Shenhe and Xianyun! While Cloud Retainer does not sound natural in her speeches (shes trying!), Shenhe absolutely obliterated the sanity of the entire conversation just by being herself! (they got Gaming to think theyre purposely making themselves look bad lmao)

Yip Tak's "aiya" spoke to my soul. Please save this NPC dad from everyone else.

The cutscene for the actual lantern rite? Spectacular. Absolutely beautiful. Gaming's performance brings me back to my childhood (yearly, lion dancers would enter my school and perform for us. It was magical then, it's still magical now)

Unexpectedly made me wonder about Keqing x Charlotte though! (Charqing?) They're actually cute! They got Charlotte casually taking pics of Keqing while an entire event was on going lmao (she did it multiple times pfft) Gotta respect using up your film like that Charlotte.

Yaoyao and Qiqi! They soften my heart so fast! More of them too, please hoyo!

Finally, Gaming running to hug his dad (who he probably hasnt hugged in such a long time at that) made me tear up. They're not perfect, but they are on better terms, and that's way more than many of us would ever have...

Im very soft and mushy at the moment (and a bit jealous of Gaming coz that fr went so well...naol), so I guess my final thought on this matter is HAPPY LANTERN RITE

"Even closer behind" - Riddler x Reader

SUMMARY: Some guy won't stop texting you so Ed decides to take things into his hands. For better or worse, your problem is gone, well, permanently.

Your frustrated groan pulled Ed away from his work.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" he asked nervously. Ed may have appeared quite collected but in his frenzied mind, he was already playing out tragic scenarios in which you leave him. Everyone said that you were "settling" for him, so maybe you have finally believed them?

"A minor inconvenience, really," you answered with a sigh. "There's this guy, Luke, he's a friend of a friend and keeps asking me out." Ed's heart might have literally stopped at those words. He wasn't stupid, maybe naive at times, so he knew that other people would see that alluring perfection you had flowing through your veins - the same unholy particle that made him lose his mind completely and swear unwavering devotion to you. Sooner or later, someone was going to try to steal you from him and Ed was well aware of that. "I told him 'no' like hundreds of times and ended up blocking his number but he's like an actual cockroach! Like today, he spammed me with e-mails that basically boiled down to him having a meltdown over me dating some jerk and never giving the good guy a chance. He made up a whole scenario in which he's the victim and then got upset with me about it! Damn, I wish I had his mother's phone number so I could send her screenshots."

Ed struggled to swallow. His hand was gripping the pen tight enough to begin to shake. At that point he wasn't even angry - all reason had already left him and now his headspace was only filled with weirdly tranquil bloodthirst. At that moment, the entire world was but white noise, some static that distracted him from his goal. All possibilities for the murder were playing out in his head, a high-pitched ringing in his ears was the only sound he could hear. No one else could have you.

"I'm gonna take a nap," you announced suddenly. "You're welcome to join whenever you're finished."

He watched as you lay on his couch and pulled one of his jackets over your shoulders. For a moment he really did consider taking a break but Ed knew that there was a more pressing matter he had to tend to immediately.

For a man of his size, Ed expected Luke to be a little harder to take down and bind. The, theoretically speaking, hardest part of his plan, turned out to be greatly unexciting but maybe it was for the better - he will have more strength for the delicious main course.

"Before we get to the main event, let's play a little game, shall we?" Ed spoke while circling Luke who was taped to a chair. "I'll give you a riddle and you'll solve it. If you get it right, I'll kill you."

"And... if I don't?" the man asked. His voice was shaky, panic already gnawing at his reason. It seemed as if the longer he stared at the masked face, the less sane he became.

"I'll kill you too, only sooner. So, let's get to." Ed clapped his hands and rubbed them in excitement. "I am always near and never far. I am often avoided but always catch up. I will come when you're old and grey or maybe even the very next day. I come in many forms whether it's irony, love, laughter, or hate. I am everyone's final fate."

Luke stared at Ed in confusion, too terrified to even begin deciphering the riddle. His mind was more focused on delaying his upcoming death rather than on the words that had just left Ed's mouth. Aside from overwhelming fear, Luke's mind was completely blank.

"What the fuck, man?!" Luke yelled out desperately. It all seemed like a sick joke, something too demented to be the candid thoughts of a human being.

"Not even close, Luke." Ed shook his head. "Are you trying at all?! You can't be that stupid, come on!"

"Fuck, man, I don't know! Let me go, you psycho!"

"Luke, Luke, Luke... why are you making things hard for yourself? Would it hurt to finally use your brain after all those years?"

"Fuck you!" he yelled spitting out some blood. Ed really landed that hit with the bat.

A tense silence fell for a moment. It was probably that very moment, the calm quietness of the executioner, that made Luke realize his imminent fate. Ed admired the fear and resignation in the man's eyes.

"Fine."

Ed stretched out a long piece of silver tape and began taping around Luke's head, leaving only a small gap for the man's nostrils - if he died of asphyxiation, a little too fast for Ed's liking, the whole sentiment of the ordeal would have been lost.

Luke thrashed, at least as much as he could while being severely restrained. His frantic movements momentarily stopped as he heard the shriek of metal - a blade had either been pulled out or someone was sharpening it very slowly.

Without hesitation or fear, Ed stabbed Luke's abdomen. The man began thrashing again, only worsening his wound.

"You have to pay for what you've done, Luke. Those are the rules."

Blood gushed out of the open wound after Ed had taken the blade out. His hand trembled but not with fear, no - it was excitement, some primal passion for taking lives that fairly quickly pushed out his self-control.

When Ed raised his hand again, preparing for another blow, it was as if the world ceased to exist: it was only him, his blind range and the asshole that dared to try to steal something that belonged to Ed and Ed only.

Spiralling into ferocious, frenzied hunger, Ed began frantically stabbing Luke, his hand driving the blade inside the man's stomach only to pull it out right away. He was too far gone to even begin to realize that his arm was beginning to ache:

"You can't have her. You can never have her! No one can have her! I won't let you steal her away from me. She's mine, mine, mine!"

By the end of his tantrum, Luke's insides were already mush, stabbed into an impressionist's grotesque vision of entrails. There was blood on his clothes as well as little bits and pieces of Luke's organs. Justice was done, all that was left now was peace.

He was about to leave the condo, let life take its course but suddenly he remembered your words - that if you could, you would have sent Luke's mother evidence of her son's antics. Yes, he could do that for you...

Ed reached for the dead man's phone and used the corpse's still warm finger to unlock it. Having taken at least ten photographs, all at different angles to broaden their artistic scope, and then hit 'send'.

The heavy rain was thundering against the windows and so there was no point in Ed going out of his way to enter the apartment as quietly as he could. Nevertheless, he did his best. Peeking into the living room turned study, he saw you laying still on the couch - still asleep, covered with one of his jackets. Your face was so soft, so undisturbed. Exactly the way it should be.

Ed was happy to announce that the vermin was gone and he wasn't going to disturb you any longer. In fact, he was happy enough to be ready to wake you up the moment he came back home but he knew better - you needed some rest.

Carefully, not to wake you up, he removed the jacket you were sleeping under. Ed lay down on the couch with you, wrapping his arms tightly around you as if you were going to walk out the door any second. He listened to your steady, shallow breaths and calm heartbeat. You were there, with him, the only way it should ever be; the only way he'll allow it to be.

He was going to make you feel happy, proud and loved - even if it was the last thing he would do in his life.

and yet in masquerade event. jamil bullies azul. azul buillies him back. they DANCE TOGETHER IN BOTH OF THE RHYTHM GAMES. theyre DUO PARTNERS to azuls ssr. riddle and jamil compliment [more or less LOL] azul's singing performance at the end. i think once or twice riddle and jamil also share a few 😑😑 moments over azul... being azul jdkslfjkdsljf and it's EVERYTHING TO ME it was so validating bc i think those three should hang out forever.

i definitely fell heart ❤️ first for kyotan after finishing the mugen train arc, but hmmmmm, to pinpoint the exact moment it ✨ sparked ✨ and activated the fujo cells in my brain, it has to be the sleepy time on the train—i am not immune to the tenderness of the scene, pls gtg couldve had tan sleep against the window, or nod off to sleep without leaning against kyo, BUTTTTTT tan placed his head on kyo's shoulder, AND KYO DIDN'T STOP HIM!!! (ง ื▿ ื)ว

for all we know, tan couldve drifted off to sleep first on the rattling window, and then kyo placed his head on his shoulder so tan could sleep more comfortably! 😉😉 anyway

🎴 tanjiro has always been my favourite character, right from the start of the series—he's a very loveable character, dependable, and his "i am the eldest son!" attitude really endeared me 😭😭 similarly, kyo is also a very dependable and sexy big brother, so its needless to say that they captured my heart almost instantly

and obviously, like, the way the kamaboko trio first met kyo on the train, how it was zen and ino's first time seeing kyo, and they were asking tan how they would know they met the right person,,, and the way tan said he's seen kyo before and would definitely recognise him! (im not gonna lie, that little bit alone had the fujo braincells in my head starting to wake up 🤭🤭)

and then how they got to see kyo's strength and power as he slayed the first two demons on the train with ease, and then the look of admiration (love) on tan's face when kyo ran up to tan and told him he would take care of five carriages while zen and nezuko handled three,,,

yes i took so many screenshots when rewatching the movie

alternatively..... this is what i want kyo to say heheheheh

and then how at the end of the movie, kyo gave it his all while fighting akaza,, how desperate tan was as he watched the fight from afar, hating how weak he was, how he flung his sword at akaza while akaza ran from the sun

and then finally, when kyo called tan to come over and referred to him by his name, especially hits hard when he calls zenitsu yellow hair and inosuke, boar boy,, and how he gave tan and nezuko his approval 😭😭😭

and then how tan could barely keep himself together, couldnt bring himself to accept the fact that kyo, a powerful and strong hashira, has lost to an upper moon, his anguished cries while he was carried away, please, spare me

i just really love how close kyo and tan got during the events of one night 😭😭😭

and i always find myself gravitating to ships that could have been, had you not left your time too early :')

plus an honorary mention from the short scene in the opening song, where kyo tries to get tan to eat more bentos, augh so cute!!! 😍😍

mmm, i am a huge sucker for animal settings and stuff with deities, so konpon au, tiger x cat, owl kyo, literally all the ones with part animal stuff, i eat them all up!

aside from that, the rengoku lives tag is free therapy okay, lets be real xDDDDDDD i just love thinking about the future that couldve happened if kyo had survived

and i also think it would be interesting to see how they would live their lives after muzan has been taken down, we have kyo, whose entire life has been moulded and shaped for one purpose only and now that theyve finally achieved it, what happens?

definitely, there would be a training arc, maybe kyo and tan would have to rein in wandering thoughts about each other, or fics where kyotan gets into an argument bc tan doesnt want to become his tsuguko bc it means replacing kyo as hashira,

and even dumb shenanigans like giyuu being salty and jealous about kyo wanting tan to be his tsuguko, bc it! was! giyuu! who found tan first! kyo should go look for someone else to be his tsuguko! xD

like many others have said before me, i think it would be sweet to watch kyo learn how to live a simple life with tan, where each day is simply spent appreciating the idle things in life, the quiet days where nothing particularly Big! or Adrenaline Rushing! happens

lets see, i think kyo has the potential to be manipulative, whether he is conscious of it or not

it has to do with his trauma, where he is so! good! at compartmentalising his emotions, and how rigid he can sometimes be about "this is the way things has to be",

im talking about how ruka instilled "the strong must protect the weak" mentality in kyo, and given how he interacts with sen and the bento girl, it sort of reflects that "the weak should just sit back and be protected by the strong"

and i just think that if he's 100% set his mind on "the way a certain thing should be", he might end up manipulating the situation to be what he has envisioned in his mind

like if sen really pushes through headstrong that he is going to train hard and join the demon slater corps, kyo is going to reject and push sen's desires down, kind of the way shin is doing to kyo, but kyo might end up saying things that affect sen more than shin does kyo—maybe he'll tell sen about what ruka says, and it can be especially effective bc sen barely has any memories of ruka before she passed, how he should just let him! the older and more capable one! handle all the hard work, that sen is pitiful enough the way he already is, really hammering in the point that sen cannot possibly do anything,,, that kind of stuff

of course, that doesnt mean that kyo is incapable of changing his mind—proven when he first says nezuko should be killed bc she is a demon and 100% no longer human, but then changes his mind about nezuko once he sees her protecting the passengers in mugen train

gah—i just think that he can be manipulative if he (his heart) really wants to, and i say his heart because again, he might be doing it subconsciously, reflecting what he really wants deep down, and not what he thinks should happen from his skewed perspective as the strong one

💭 - In a world where the train ride lasted longer, what do Rengoku and Tanjiro dream of?

ooh!!! this one is a fun one!

enmu says he likes to give his victims the happiest dream they could ever dream of, then thrust them into the most painful dream once they've relaxed and put down their guards,,,

so lets see, for kyo right, since his dream starts of with a memory of him telling shin that he has finally become the flame hashira, and how shin belittles him and his efforts

then it goes on to show sen waiting outside shin's room, waiting for kyo to come out etc, yadda yadda

i think enmu would continue to build on that dream, so it will emphasize the peaceful, but short, days that kyo gets to spend with sen

then! he might end up dreaming about ruka, about the happy days he has shared with his family, before ruka's passing that broke shin so bad

maybe it'll show scenes where kyo gets back from a long mission and starts telling sen about how it went, and then goes on with him learning things that sen excitedly shares, stories that he's learned from reading,

sen getting his beloved aniki to try and taste test his latest recipes bc shin is too busy drowning himself in alcohol, kyo thoroughly enjoying and appreciating sen's efforts, eating burnt food whilst sen apologizes nonstop and trying to get kyo to stop eating the burnt stuff, saying he'll make another batch that isnt burnt

maybe there'll even be a part where sen helps to trim kyo's hair for the first time, carefully, and then sen accidentally cuts off a big chunk

now kyo lets him and just laughs it off, bc he wants to leave some happy memories with sen before his inevitable death happens, as with any rengoku before him, while fulfilling their duty

as for tan, enmu also lets him dream about his family, and we know that tan so desperately misses his family, how much he wants to sit there and bask in denial that his family had been killed in cold blood

so continuing from that, i think tan would be spending more time with his family, chopping wood and making charcoal as usual with takeo following him around happily, then descending the mountain to sell charcoal as per his usual routine with rokuta and hana tagging along

maybe the seasons would change, from winter to spring, where tan would occasionally take a break and go pick some flowers for kie, and to spend time basking in the morning sun with rokuta and hana

to summer, where he would bring his siblings down to the river and play with them in the water, and he would catch fish with them, teaching them how to spear the fishes

to autumn, where he would rake up the leaves to make a giant leaf pile and his siblings would jump into it, maybe he might even build a little canopy hut thing for them to play in with the fallen leaves and branches

with all the seasons that come and go, tan watches happily as his siblings all grow up, but bc enmu wants to give him a bad dream at the end, tan realises that he's the only one that isnt aging like the rest of his family

he starts to notice when he sees takeo and rokuta looming over him, having grown up already, takeo, getting into his rebellious phase, rokuta, no longer the crybaby he used to be

nezuko and hana, much older now, swooning over the new family that just moved into town, who also happens to have a handsome and single young man, who only vaguely reminds tan about muzan (bc it is him but in a different form, and tan cant smell him very well bc he's already so drawn into his dream, so settled in but just on edge enough to realise that something isnt quite right)

kie, her eyesight no longer what it used to be, grey hairs and shaky hands are her normal now, but still lovingly making their favourite senbei for her darling children

all growing older, except for tan, who continues to remain stuck, frozen in time

ayo another meta post for wangxian (but nightless city flavored)

Alright y'all bare with me here since I cannot for the life of me upload screenshots or gifs (I swear I'll figure out my weird computer eventually but today is not that day). Absolutely in love with the gifset @cherryysundae posted, so I'm gonna attach that here for reference to the scene: (XX) (pls work)

TLDR; I have way too many emotions about the cliff scene, but especially the part where WWX realizes that JC is going to send LWJ down with WWX and WWX can't take that so he wrenches away to save LWJ bc he can't lose any more than he already has, even if that means dying alone (but then him realizing 16y later that maybe he still has reasons to live and he'll do whatever he can to keep them this time).

Once again getting emotional about wangxian, specifically the Bloodbath of Nightless City when WWX dies.

Ofc we see that WWX has lost virtually everything at this point, right? Lost his adoptive parents (no matter how cruel they might have been, they still raised him so it's gonna be a shock a person just doesn't recover from in even a year). Lost the respect of the cultivation world because he wasn't willing to fit into their mob mentality and charge the innocent for the crimes of a war. Lost his clan, his home, his family when Jiang Cheng rejected him; people he's known and fought beside his whole life, places he's grown up in, foods he's connected to every little moment. Lost his new family, seeing the Wens dead and disgraced with crowds of people able to witness their bodies and talk shit on them (he doesn't see A-Yuan, ofc, but surely he wouldn't believe a little kid to survive the indiscriminate wrath of the entire cultivation world. He knows what's coming, he knows A-Yuan is done for if not already. He can't protect him anymore). He looses his sister, his tether to the world, the one person (he knew of, at least, as we know that even when he came back via MXY, WWX thought LWJ never actually trusted him) that truly believed there was good in him --- that maybe he was doing a good thing. And she died right in front of him with him believing it was his control of the spirits that caused the chain of events (IT WASN'T EVEN THE SPIRITS THAT SURELY KILLED HER. SHE WOULD HAVE LIVED JUST FROM THAT. It was some other cultivator determined to take down WWX in his moment of vulnerability and family mourning that lead to Jiang Yanli pushing him out of the way so the sword would run her through instead). And then, if there was any hope in rekindling his relationship with Jiang Cheng, that surely suffocated it. He's lost everything.

And the worst part? They can't even see what they've all become. Wei Wuxian just stands there, overlooking the destruction they're all spiraling into, no longer even trying to control the spirits. He breaks the Yin Tiger Seal and scatters it to the animalistic crowd below. Now, he really has nothing. What more to lose? There's no coming back from this, nothing more for him to do, no one else for him to protect.

"Trust me," LWJ told him when they still stood on the rooftop together before it all got so out of control. It's the fact that even before WWX lost control of the spirits (with someone else's flute taking over and causing the destruction), LWJ is there with WWX trying to calm the situation, help him the only way he knows how. "Lan Zhan, do you think I have any other choice now?"

"The situation changed ... You must trust me. It's not that simple."

FIRST OF ALL IM SCREAMING The change this represents for Lan Wangji??? "It's not that simple" --- after years of trying to understand WWX and this growing tension within the cultivation world and their tyrannical systems, consulting Lan Xichen about "black and white, good and bad" and how not simple it all is. "Do you think I have any other choice now?" Because WWX thinks he understands LWJ by now; that the Perfect Golden Child of the Lan Sect would of course cherish and uphold every rule and regulation and surely the Lan Sect wouldn't allow for WWX's reputational actions (he should know, he memorized (almost) all of them, cocky lil shit reciting them to Wen Chao instead of the Wen Clan's). So surely, LWJ would believe there's nothing else for WWX to do --- he's too far gone. Everyone else seems to think so, why not him? If even his own brother could reject him like that, why would some High Moral guy who "hates [his] guts" (thanks, JC, for completely misreading LWJ's gay frustration) think that any of this is still salvageable?

"Situation changed" "trust me" "not that simple" --- bc LWJ understands now, he does. He watched what they did to the Wens, he knows that A-Yuan is still out there somewhere, all alone surrounded by resentful spirits. He hears how the crowd refuses to even try to reason, how they attempt to shoot WWX down, scorn him for defending himself --- others can harm him, but he can't touch them. Most of all, Lan Zhan knows Wei Ying. He just needs WWX to trust him now, and they can figure out a way --- even if it means leaving everything else behind.

In my opinion, I think LWJ was willing to sacrifice everything for WWX in this moment. I think he was ready. Before JYL died, before WWX lost control of the spirits, before the crowd broke out into monsters slicing and smashing each other for a piece of the Yin Tiger Seal. He would have done it. But then... "situation changed" again. Wei Wuxian lost everything (everything except him, but LWJ was never WWX's to begin with, was he? Who was LWJ to think he would be enough to make him stay? to make him "come back"?)

"Wei Ying... come back."

But WWX can't let that happen. He can't trust him, can't get too close. To him, he's hurt everyone he's touched. (ok, now we start the gifset references) So, he goes to the point of no return.

And Lan Wangji catches him. He catches his hand with Lan Wangji's wounded arm, literally pouring blood down as he grips onto him (and as @cherryysundae said, blood is slippery as shit. so that's a strong ass grip right there, fighting against both the pain, the weight, and literal fucking physics against him and he still manages. It's taking all he has just to hold WWX there, but he does. And then JC is there, and maybe he'll help; reach down and pull WWX up from the cliff, save his brother, fix what they have left of their grief-ridden family and sect (would anyone else besides the Jiang sect have noticed the change in spirits? When they refused to brutally harm anyone, but not even daring to touch the sect? because "Wei Wuxian hasn't forgotten us!" and then the utter horror when they think he has?)

But instead, LWJ sees that bloody sword, sees it gripped tight, JC's unmoving stance. "Jiang Wanyin! Stop it." The tears in his eyes here, the unspoken 'please stop falling with them, stop pushing him away, stop ignoring everything you've been raised upon and realize that some things need justice and sometimes those things are the systems you've base your life on. Stop grieving what you've lost to the point of blinding you from what you still have.' And JC pauses another moment, so LWJ turns his attention back to WWX --- make sure he's okay, that he's alive, that he's not planning on going anywhere just quite yet, just a moment more please---

And then Jiang Cheng draws his sword back and plunges it into the cliff side. (and now we get into why I specifically love The Untamed's version of this scene, maybe even more than the novel/manhua/donghua versions). Jiang Cheng doesn't stab Wei Wuxian, he hits the rock. He digs into the cliff, makes it unstable, twists his sword just so in a way that would force the loose stones to crumble beneath not just WWX, but also LWJ. And Wei Wuxian sees this, he knows what will happen if Lan Wangji continues to save him here, hold him there against the cliff without the strength to pull him up alone. He's lost everything... he can't lose Lan Zhan just as he starts to realize that maybe he can have him. And he realizes here that Lan Wangji would die for him. He would give up everything, and Wei Wuxian knows what it feels like to have nothing left.

"Do I have any other choice now?"

So he forces himself out of LWJ's grasp, falls into the pit, away from all the pain and nothingness and from Lan Zhan--- who still, even after JYL died and the spirits created a bloodbath and insanity fell upon the crowd in desperation for power of the amulet, still thought Wei Ying was worth saving. To the point that he'd die with him if that's what it took. Or maybe, LWJ doesn't notice the loose rock, doesn't see exactly what JC does with the sword, too focused on making sure WWX just stays right here, stays as safe as he can be. And maybe WWX knows this, knows LWJ won't be prepared for what's to come, knows he won't have the strength to save them both anyways, let alone himself if it came to it. I mean, you can see the moment WWX realizes what could happen: the way he stares at the sword, eyes wide, then in an instant they widen even more and that quick gasp before he wrenches his arm away from LWJ, pain and tears and guilt and fear on his face.

The pure devastation on Lan Wangji's face as he stands there frozen, arm still outstretched, even after JC walks away. He screams, Lan Wangji, Han Guangjun, Second Jade of the Lan Sect screams. I think this might be the most expressive we ever see of LWJ in the series, though he does let down his walls more after the 16 years (for The Untamed) than during their youth, but nothing ever quite like this. not even when faced with the possibility of losing WWX again via JGY (see: the other half of the referenced gifset). I mean, dude is PISSED, tho, absolutely staring daggers at JGY here, but he's calmer. He's grown. He's gotten stronger. And he knows that if it came to it, he would gladly give his life to save his Wei Ying. He's not letting him go again. He's tired of WWX's savior-complex; he loves him for it, but damn it's starting to get on his nerves when WWX keeps pushing LWJ away to save him. Just the:

WWX: "Lan Zhan, you go first to find reinforcements."

LWJ: bitch, who do you take me for?

WWX: my god we're both doomed

JGY and LXC: you're both hopelessly in love, actually, but yeah also doomed.

I just,,, I love wangxian so much, right, and they have so many beautiful moments, but I will never get over the cliff scene. Everyone always talking about what LWJ would do for WWX, I think we need to focus on this scene more and just what WWX gave for LWJ in that he didn't try to break the hold UNTIL he saw that it was going to put LWJ in danger. He would've stayed. He would have come back. But it couldn't happen, not yet, not with everything still in shambles. No, he needed to go --- let fires settle, let systems overturn and stir into a rolling boil, give Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling time to grow together and grieve what they'll never know, give Lan Wangji time to grow as a leader of his sect, have disciples under his command and care, let A-Yuan become Lan Sizhui (fucking "chasing memories" I'm sobbing, LWJ), let people question whether WWX was ever actually wrong to separate from order and protect the Wens. Let Wei Ying come back sixteen years later to face a Lan Zhan who knows how to protect him now and by god will never let him go again. Let Wei Wuxian grow into a person that no longer wants to die; he doesn't fear death, he knows it well -- but he doesn't want to die anymore. For the first time since probably the Cloud Recesses days, he finally has hope, finally joy and love, he has reasons to stay. He won't fear death, he understands it now. But by god he'll rage against it if he can.

"Come back..."

And so, if just to see the ones he loves finally full of joy and not mourning him for another sixteen years, he'll do it. He'll come back.

twst: OHHHHHH THERE'S A LOT. but i'll keep it short. again, that one bday vignette line and also people saying that riddle will grow up just like his mother despite the character development he got. that one hurts me so much because again, i had said it many times, i have anger issues myself and one of the many reasons why i like riddle is because of how much i relate to him and because he feels so human and not just. you know. "haha angy boi". so seeing things like "ohhh he should never have children because he will treat them like he was treated when he was little" is so. painful.

milgram: tbh there's so many that my brain just kinda refuses to process them anymore ALSO SINCE THE FANDOM IS KINDA SMALL. I FEEL LIKE ALL THOSE POSTS ARE EASY TO FIND but again i'll keep it short: mahiru is NOT a stalker/kidnapper/etc, stop saying she is, she literally said she's not one and i doubt it was a lie and also hhhhhhh i have my. own opinion about whatever is going on with kazui but i don't wanna go into detail but basically. before he himself said that his crime wasn't related to cheating, there were some people who were like.. very passionate about voting him guilty because he's a cheater and like. i'm sorry this is so funny to me like we have a guy who killed a child and MANY different animals, we have a guy who cyberbullied a teenage girl into committing suicide, MIKOTO, SHIDOU LITERALLY ASKED "WHICH ONE" AFTER HE GOT A QUESTION ABOUT HIS VICTIM(S) and cheating is where you draw the line?? 😭😭 ah and also whoever says that it was his wife's fault <3 i'm in your walls right now.

16. "you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)"

twst: HMMMMM LET ME THINK ABOUT IT. okay okay let's see. well, first of all, i'm not a fan of the time loop theory simply because i'm not a fan of time loop tropes in general. i'm pretty sure there was a time (i think it was like.. late 2000's-early 2010's? maybe even earlier) where like ALMOST EVERY SINGLE VISUAL NOVEL, GAME, ANIME, MANGA, ETC (but especially vns), used that trope AND I HATED IT SO MUCH. i love it when time loops are used to make a character go through the same painful event over and over again to completely change their character, but most of the time (haha get it) time loops feel like.. basically it's like writers use them to just explain everything that doesn't exactly make sense in-universe. why does this character say mc looks familiar to them and doesn't elaborate? well that's because they've seen them before in previous loops! why does mc know how this world works even though they've never been there? well that's because time loop! why do these two characters are in love with each other even though they've never even talked? well that's because they were in love in previous loops! i can talk about my hatred for that trope for hours, honestly.

okay, let's talk about characterization. tbh there's not much i can say because.. let's be honest, even though twst characters are definitely deep and interesting and fun, their personalities feel a bit "limited"(?) mostly because of their disney counterparts or because of how strong certain traits of their personalities are. and i'm not complaining.. mostly. i really wish some characters had more personality traits. but what i really hate is when some writers just.. throw away all the "ugly" or "unlikeable" traits of those characters to make them more "imagines-friendly". like i'm sorry, but sometimes i just read some fics and go "he would NOT say that". i know that people love the "OH BUT HE'S NICE TO Y/N" trope, i use it too sometimes, but like.. some people just really forget that this game is about characters who are literally based on disney villains. like it's okay, let them have flaws. and i don't mean those flaws that are like "omg he's so shyyyy >///<" or "hehe he can ramble a lot <3" NO. I MEAN ACTUAL FLAWS.

milgram: it's okay. it's okay guys. i promise it's okay that somebody can't see that character being gay or ships them with someone of an opposite sex. it's okay. and that's coming from someone who has almost no straight ocs.

like, listen, i'm a 0104 shipper. i see their relationship as romantic but i absolutely have nothing against platonic interpretations. but when people see something like ship art and go "muu is literally a lesbian btw" i'm like. i have so many hcs too but it's one thing to say that "hey i think this headcanon is very plausible and i think it's very neat" and to go "IT'S LITERALLY CANON" unironically and not as a joke. like idk, i'm just that kind of person who has lots of headcanons but until i see them actually being confirmed, i won't try to make people change their mind. (and just so you know i'm not trying to deny that she's attracted to girls. she has that vibe and she literally says "i love you" when she sees a girl and her pupils become bigger like?? but come on. it's okay for people to ship her with a male character until she literally says that she's not into boys in canon)

kazui is a whole different thing, i really was interested in the whole "yeah he's gay actually" theory and i love the memes, but now that people are saying it's "officially" canon and lowkey just. kinda being annoying, yeah, i don't even want to look at the tag anymore because i want to see actual theories and i don't want to see another "yeah he's gay so vote him inno". i'm not here to say that it's a dumb reason to forgive him, since we are literally allowed to have all kinds of reasons to forgive a character, but i think it's a weird thing to say when this guy really does seem like a very deep character, but i can't take him seriously anymore because of those theories that don't even sound like theories (and i mean it in a bad way and not bc they sound so canon)

24. "topic that brings up the most rancid discourse"

twst: honestly, this fandom mostly has like.. people-related drama, like this artist/writer/etc did something problematic, things like that. but i think if i had to choose a topic that annoys me the most.. these two topics kinda go together but i'll start with mc's gender. it actually doesn't get discussed that often, since we're supposed to see them as a self-insert, but i've really seen people say things like "mc is obviously supposed to be female" or "mc is obviously supposed to be male", etc.

i'm not going to pretend that i don't have my own opinion and i'm going to say that tbh i see twst mc as being male (one of the reasons why my mc is a guy), but that's mostly just because i usually prefer to play as a guy when it comes to games like that. (honestly if i have a choice, i choose fem mcs very rarely, stelle is like one of the few exceptions) however, i never try to prove why i'm right, i just kinda go "eh you do you". but i'm not gonna lie, those who believe that mc is female are the most annoying ones, like i get it, of course, a large part of twst fandom are women who are attracted to men, but also. there are. so many otome games. no literally a huge reason why i often don't feel comfortable playing otome games is because I HAVE NO IDEA WHY but i really just don't want to play as a girl and i don't want those characters to see my mc as a girl. (i rarely see my mc as a self-insert btw and almost always see them as their own character) LIKE I DON'T KNOW CAN'T PEOPLE WHO SEE THEIR MCS AS MALE/NB HAVE SOMETHING. like i literally love twst and obey me (i really should play it more often but again. my phone doesn't like it and idk if it will run on my tablet) exactly because of how "genderless" their mcs feel and that i can just see them as whatever gender i want them to be. and idk it just.. doesn't feel good when people are trying to remind me that "btw mc is obviously supposed to be a girl" especially when i already kinda know that considering the audience/demographic.

the second topic was probably more popular to discuss when i first got into the game and when it first came out: character x mc or character x character. i was a big character x character enjoyer and didn't really care about character x mc at first until i got interested in riddleyuu and malleyuu. but yeah, watching those sides fight was like. guys you both are losing. like some character x character fans were being mean and hating on self-inserts and some character x mc fans were saying things like "y'all just want more guys to ship". and like. there's nothing wrong with both of those things like calm down. i still can see people arguing because of that, but i just try to ignore them now tbh.

Simulator 🖥

Markus yawned and leaned back in his chair. He looked at the time on his computer and noticed it had just gone to 11:30 p.m. He rubbed his eyes, which were sore from looking at his monitor since starting the stream at 6 p.m. He looked at his Twitch chat, which all read the same.

"This is so boring!"

‘No one plays this game anymore’

‘Get a better game pls!’

‘Kill yourself. "

Markus quickly blocked the last person. Of course, he wished he could afford better games, but his part-time salary was a pittance.

"Guys, if you comment that, then it’s a straight block."

He was annoyed but used to these trolls by now.

"I’m doing the best I can. Now I know a lot of people don’t like this game, but Small Life Sim is an enjoyable game. "

He despised it. Another low budget rip off that was behind so many ad walls that he regretted paying to remove them.

He was trying to become a full time content creator, putting in numerous hours every day, but it was hard. All his gaming buddies were already affiliated and getting 10, 20, and even a lucky one was hitting 45 viewers per stream. Markus, however, was only averaging 2 on good days. The grind was hard, but that was the sacrifice, he told himself.

He was fed up, tired and hungry. Markus ended the stream in the hopes that he would find a game that pulled in the viewers.

He sat in his kitchen eating cheap noodles that tasted like cardboard. How long will he have to live like this? His dreams seemed so far away every time he woke up in his crappy flat.

He scrolled through his phone eating, looking at full-time jobs that he was so close to applying for. He stood up to go to his room to sleep. That’s when it happened.

PING!

His phone lit up with an email notification. He sat down and opened the message.

Dear Mr. Crampton,

We here at Diaboli Games would like to invite you to be part of our new Beta test squad for our upcoming game, Simulator. We choose up-and-coming video game streamers and video makers to test out our projects and allow them to exclusively show off our work.

Markus had to read it twice. He couldn’t believe it. How had they found him? The stream key was at the bottom of the email. Suddenly wide awake, he almost sprinted to the computer and turned it on.

He quickly entered the key into Steam and the page popped up. It was beautiful.

The screenshots showed detailed options for a life sim. Choice after choice, he would be able to do anything. It was as if every life-sim game had been crammed into one. He downloaded the game.

When waiting, he checked the description but it just read the same as the email.

'Simulator is a life simulation but unlike any other. "

But it did have an extra line, "DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME."

Confused about the odd line, he brushed it off as some sort of security detail. When the game was fully downloaded, he couldn’t open it fast enough.

It looked like every other text-based simulators. Plain background with buttons that lead into options for actions.

He added a fake name and created a new life. He could feel his eyes getting heavy, so he didn’t bother with looking at the options for when you are growing up. He aged up year after year, reading the in game events that happened until his character was 18.

That unlocked every option, so he wanted to explore a bit. He pressed "lifestyle," and another menu popped up, and it was everything. options for social media, acting, music, and crime. He clicked on each one, and they had hundreds of options that a player could choose from. He was spoilt for choice.

He thought about trying them all, but he wanted to enjoy it and he was too tired right now, so he decided on crime. He pressed it and read through the options like gangs, mafia, and the internet, but settled on robbery because he liked the image of the burglar.

Again, options came up, and he thought the other games might as well quit because this one was going to be the champion. He clicked to rob a local shop and had to complete a mini game where he had to collect items and not get caught. He came close to getting caught, even when the armed police arrived, but he managed to escape with almost a thousand pounds.

At this point, his head dropped down and he jerked awake. Too tired to even sit properly, he saved his progress and dragged himself off to bed, where he was practically unconscious when his head hit the pillow.

Markus opened his eyes slowly to the buzzing of his phone. He reached across the dresser and looked at the caller ID. Why was his mum ringing him?

"Hello" Markus answered, his voice croaky with tiredness.

"Markus, are you OK?" She said, with some worry.

"I’m fine. Why are you ringing?"

One-Stop Shop was robbed last night. Armed police and the lot. You must have heard the sirens. You live down the road from them. "

Markus jumped out of bed and peeked through his blinds. Sure enough, the bottom of the street was cornered off and there were two police vans blocking the road.

"I must have slept through it."

"You could sleep through the end of the world. Stay safe ok? "

"I will do, talk to you later." He ended the call and got ready. He checked social media and the robbery was all over it.

IN A LATE NIGHT HEIST, AN ARMED ROBBER GETS AWAY WITH A GRAND.

He got lucky. His estate wasn’t the best, but it had never had an armed robbery before. After a few minutes, he left for work and made sure to check his windows and doors were locked.

Markus worked part time at a small clothes shop in town. On a good day he got five customers, but on a normal day it was more like two. The boring day ahead always filled him with dread, but at least his colleague Joey was a laugh.

Markus had just stepped into the shop before Joey ran up to him.

"Mate, how about that robbery?" Joey said excitedly.

"I wish I could have seen it live. I was asleep," Markus said.

"I did catch your stream last night."

"Cheers mate. Why didn’t you comment? "

"I did. Don’t you remember BadLad69?"

"That was you?"

"Do you like the name?"

"Not the most original"

Markus yawns while covering his mouth. He went over to the stock room and shifted boxes as Joey worked the till.

"What time did you go to bed?"

"I ended the stream when it was almost midnight before playing a new game I was invited to test." Joey’s eyes lit up.

"You got invited to test a game! Congratulations mate" They high five.

"Yep. It’s a life simulator, so right up my alley. "

"What’s it like?"

"Amazing. There are like a thousand different options to choose from. I’m going to enjoy playing it fully tonight. It has mini games, so it's not just clicking. I robbed a shop in it last night before I went to bed. "

"That sounds like a great game. Is it realistic? "

"Very realistic. When I robbed the shop in the game, the police showed up and armed police. It’s a pity they sent it to me so late. I could have played it all night. Time does go fast when playing. It was 1am when I stopped playing. "

"That’s a big coincidence!"

"What is"

"1am is the time the shop was robbed."

Markus was taken aback by this. He thought he definitely should have heard something. "Did they say how much was taken?"

"Close to a thousand pounds from what I’ve read"

Markus almost dropped the box he was carrying. It was a crazy thought, but could the game be involved? His mind was racing.

The day went by with barely any customers, but Markus could barely think. His thoughts were occupied by the game. Joey even noticed, asking if he was OK a few times, but Markus could barely muster a grunt in response.

Finally, his shift came to an end, and without saying goodbye, Markus left and quickly headed home.

When he got home, Markus went straight to his computer. The game loaded where he had left off, fresh from robbing the shop. It was necessary to know how literal that was.

He scrolled through the options and needed to find something that would show immediate results. Everything would probably take a while, so he tried crime again. That did give immediate results before.

He chose crime and looked over what he could do. The Internet looked promising, so he clicked and read through the options such as blackmail and hacking. Without thinking, he chose hacking. which gives him options for multiple websites. every social media platform, news site, and business

Which one would make headlines quickly? A news site would be big, but social media... now that would cause a panic.

He chose Facebook, and that made another mini game come up. This was a click game where he had to stop an arrow in the green in the middle. He waited till he recognised the speed patten and clicked.

SUCCESS. He let out a sign of relief and clicked for results.

According to the game, his successful hack meant that Facebook was down. He logged on from his phone, but it seemed to be working fine.

Disappointed and feeling crazy, he threw his phone on the bed. Of course, it didn’t work. It was just a game, after all. He was being crazy. Why would a video game affect the real world.

Markus started laughing at the absurd thoughts he had all day. He thought it was some sort of evil game. He had to post something.

He got his phone off of the bed and went to Facebook. He opened the app but it crashed, so he tried again only for it to do the same. He tried it on his computer but it just buffered.

Freaked out, he googled Facebook and article after article appeared.

FACEBOOK HAS BEEN TAKEN OFFLINE AFTER HACKERS GAINED ACCESS TO THE MAINFRAME.

Markus looked on with horror. This proves it. This game caused events to happen in the real world.

With unknown power at his hands, what could he do?

and i won’t lie, u do more damage than any of his characters, and ppl who co op with him

ur his pride and joy :’)

he went to take a look at ur consts to see if they were worth the rng suffering and, lo-and-behold,

so now he’s using all his saved primos for u to try and get ur c6 const, along with making ur weapon r5 :’)

his chat gets a free view of him internally suffering when the gold light doesn’t come, and his external suffering when he loses the 50/50

in the end, he decided to whale for u <33

after nearly an hour, he has u to c6 and ur weapon to r5 ;-;

now all he’s been doing the whole stream is running around with u in open world, doing his daily farming, doing more domain and boss runs, exploring the new region (dragonspine) + ur story quest

My Loki series - Ep2.

Very long post

In case you missed episode 1:

Note: There is going to be longer pause between ep2 and ep3 because i will be busy with work. Im sad because in ep3 Lady Loki has a big role and Im excited to introduce her. So ep3 will be uploaded,if im lucky, in november. Damn it. So just enjoy, I hope you'll like it. Once again, Im not a writer so pls dont focus on the language, but the story instaed. Also I had some technical problems so part of the story must be uploaded in form of screenshots. Enjoy.

When Loki leaves Odin's chambers, he is walking slowly away, doesnt even know where. He can hear distand voices and laughter and music from the feast in grand hall. But the last thing he wants now is company of many people.

Loki, wait! He hears Thor's voice.

Loki sighs and stops.

What? He asks bored.

Thor says as he approaches him

Father doesnt mean it.

Gods, Im tired of hearing that. Yes he does Loki says in all seriousness And Im glad its all out in the open. In my heart I have known this for a very long time. I didnt want to admit it (he quietly laughs and continues) I even tried to win over his appreciation by killing my own father. Thought he might then love me as much as he loved you...

Loki Im sorry that I...

Loki says Thor quietly I know he loves you. He has just...let his anger take over him. But I know him. Im sure he is sorry. He hasnt been himself lately,since...you know. That's reason Im the king now. Father didnt feel up to this task no more. And by the way...

Thor hugged Loki with strong arm around his shoulders and said

He no longer has the right to arrest you or punish you for anything.

Loki mischiviously smiled and looked into the distance

Oh no smiled Thor I know that face. What are you plotting now?

Loki smiled even more.

Plotting? Dear brother. I never plot.

Thor laughed out loud.

Come. We shall celebrate my coronation and your arrival. Lets join the feast.

Egh...Loki looked annoyed.

Im not in a mood to be around people who look at me and see nothing but a murderer.

Loki. Come with me. After the night you have gone, mother made sure noone knows what actualy happened on bifrost. Our people think it was an accident. They also have no knowledge of events on Midgard. Only Sif and Warriors 3 know,of course.

When Loki heard their names he rolled his eyes.

I dont know...he said.

Sigyn might be there Thor said and awaited brother's reaction. And as he suspected, when her name was mentioned, Loki opened his eyes wide and looked at him.

Did she ask about me?

Thor laughed.

Every day. Ask around the palace. Brother, marry that girl. She is clearly madly in love with you.

Loki blushed and he opened his mouth to say something, when they heard Frigga

Loki!

Thor smiled, left them alone and exited towards the grand hall.

Mother said Loki gently.

Frigga didnt waste any precious time and hugged him. Loki hugged her back very tightly. She looked at him and touched his face

My beautiful son.... I knew you would return to us. I felt it in my heart.

He smiled at her.

Im sorry about everything he whispered.

No she said I am. I am so sorry I couldnt help you when that horrible man took control over you. My magic wasnt...

It wasnt your fault,mother. I shouldnt have let go. It wasnt worth it.

About your father...

Mother. Stop right there. Do not defend him. You heard what he said and If Im being honest, Im glad he revealed his true thoughts about me. I no longer have to wonder why he doesnt love me and torment myself.

But he didnt mean it. He was just angry. I know he loves you.

Maybe. Maybe not. At least from now on I dont have to fight for his favor. Truth hurts, mother. But it hurts only for a while. While as lie hurts forever.

Frigga smiled.

You have grown wise in your exile.

Loki's smile disappeared. We would see a few seconds of flashbacks to moments Thanos tortured him, Loki screaming in agony. He remembered this and changed the subject.

So Im hearing Thor is king now? Where is the celebration? Get out of the way, everyone, smart brother has arrived.

Frigga smiles and shakes her head.

You know she says quietly as they are getting closer to the grand hall Sigyn might be there. She has been asking about you.

I heard Loki said. All of a sudden he seemed nervous. She smiled. Once she mentioned Sigyn, Loki's old love, the confidence was gone and fearless God of mischief looked like a little boy.

You look nervous she said.

I have no idea what you mean, mother. Those ars just tricks I pull.

Sure she says and smiles.

Loki and Frigga enter the grand hall together. Thor has already told them Loki is alive and well and that he has returned so they are not shocked but they are surprised either way. He has long hair and he looks older. Many shake their hands with him, some even hugged him, others tapped him on the shoulder. Loki was looking for Sigyn with his eyes but he didnt see her anywhere.

Thor was sitting with his comrads, who were not so happy to see him back. Loki saw that Drrf was sitting next to Thor, and he was emptying a glass of beer that looked way too big for him. He seemed to be having a good time.

Loki and Frigga sat next to Thor and after exchange of pleasantries with people at the table and one glass of wine, Loki leaned to Thor and asked quietly

Where is Sigyn?

Thor smiled and equaly quietly answered

She was here but she left. She told me that if you want to speak with her, she will be waiting "you know where".

Loki looked to the middle of a table and smiled.

Sigyn is standing under Yggdrasil, looking up at its branches. Its a big golden glowing tree with fruit unlike any fruit on Earth. She can hear quiet steps. None walks like that except one man. She says:

An ash I know there stands, Yggdrasil is its name, a tall tree showered with shining loam.

Loki says from behind her:

From here come the dews that drop in the valleys, it stands forever green, over Urdr's well.

She smiles and turns right. Loki is now standing in front of her.

They said you died she says.

Loki smiles and says

The first thing a sorcerer of a quality learns is to make himself as difficult to kill as possible.

He is so tall she must be looking up at him.

You look different she says quietly You look different.

I know I look good. Just say it he says.

Sigyn laughs and says

He is back.

He sits on the ground and she does the same. They are quiet for a while, not sure what to say. Then she asks

You want to talk about Midgard?

He says quietly

No not really. You do know what happened to me,dont you?

Yes,your mother told me says Sigyn quietly How you tried to destroy the entire Jotunheim.

Loki is looking at the tree and says

I did it because I wanted Odin to love me. Love me as much as he loved Thor. I thought that by killing all our mortal enemies...I would make him proud for once. I realized too late that in his eyes, I will never be worthy. I will never have his appreciation or the power Thor has.

She puts her hand on his which makes him look at her and she says

Be worthy of your own power, Loki. Not your brother's.

He smiles sadly and says

I know I should not be giving up to the part that hates myself. But...it sounds easier than it's done.

She nodds and puts her head on his shoulder. Like old times. He slowly huggs her with one arm, as if he is afraid of Sigyn pushing him away because he was gone for long time.

After all of that, I was worried Odin would put you into prison she says.

Loki proudly says I am expert when it comes to escaping Odin's punishments. The stranger, the better.

She giggles. He never knew sweeter sound. They were both quiet, each with their own thoughs. Then Loki says

I am taking the throne of Jotunheim.

She replies without moving

So I have heard.

Silence again. He can tell she isnt very happy about this.

But do you really want that? She asks quietly and looks at him. Few years ago you almost destroyed entire Jotunheim and now you want to be their king? Are you sure you want that? That you dont want to come back?

Loki looks into her eyes.

We move forward,Sigyn. We learn, we do different next time. I am not coming back into being again only a shadow because I am not going backwards. I write my own story now. Something I never did before. I want to...(hesitates,searches for words)... find myself...

She is looking at him and without realizing, she is holding his hand. Loki also doesnt notice.

Do you really want that? She asks To be the king of Jotuns?

Loki looks to the ground and says

It is my birthright.

She notices he doesnt say he wants it.

Then I stand with you she says I will fight by your side, if it does come to that.

Sigyn, you dont have to.

But I want to. Besides, Im pretty skilled with a blade.

Oh I dont doubt that. You learnt from the best.

He winks at her. We would see a flashback to when they were younger and he was teaching her how to use various weapons.

I just dont want you to get hurt because of me he says quietly.

Sigyn smiles and says

You shouldnt have taught me to fight. By the way, you did it back then to be with me. I always knew. You might be the trickster, but you never once tricked me.

Loki laughs but blushes. She stands up and he follows her. They are walking back to the palace side by side. The very last shot of the episode woud be detail on their fingers touching slightly.

it has been in my periphary for m o n t h s but i wasnt sure if it was good or not, so -

So you know how I usually liveblog the anime I watch to tumblr, on the off chance I'm not screeching into someone's DMs? Ehe. Akudama Drive was just so fuckin,,,, edge-of-my-seat interesting that I couldn't even liveblog. I think I made one (1) post about it after I finished watching. I also spend a lot of time taking screenshots of the anime I watch and I only have two for Akudama Drive. That's how hard this anime grabbed me by the throat.

,,,How do I explain Akudama Drive.

Okay. Okay. So. Sometime in the future, let's say you're a college-age-ish girl just vibing. You're a very typical anime girl who could be in any slice of life anime. You're very boring, and kind of a ditz, but that's okay. Then one day, you run into this random mysterious dude on a motorbike. A series of truly unfortunate events spiral into you accidentally trying to swindle someone and then you're in the waiting room of a police station, questioning where you life went wrong.

You're sitting there, swinging your legs, when BAM SUDDENLY THERE ARE CRIMINALS?? EVERYWHERE?? HIGH PROFILE CRIMINALS?? And holy FUCK they're trying to break into the police station AND OH FUCK THEY'RE INSIDE ALREADY WHAT'S HAPPENING-

And it turns out, hey, congratulations, you're actually the protagonist of a cyberpunk dystopia heist anime and your fellow protagonists are all notorious criminals. Congratulations. Try not to die and maybe you'll get a piece of the payout.

That's the basic premise of Akudama Drive, which promises you it's a neon heist anime with a bunch of various criminals as the main cast--all of whom have been contracted to steal Mysterious Cargo from a heavily guarded train. The setting is cyberpunk, sure, but that's totally just for the aesthetic. Right? This anime couldn't possibly build up an actual dystopian world where there's gross injustice and deliver on taking that to it's logical extreme-

Until it does. Because Akudama Drive tells you it's a heist anime and then, about halfway through, devolves into wait this isn't just a heist anime, this is about keeping [spoiler] safe and possibly making sure [spoiler] gets to live the long and happy life they deserve.

The heist anime part is very good though.

And the characters, god the characters. It may look like a found family anime. Perhaps it is, I can't tell you either way because that would be spoilers. But you've got:

Swindler, the MC who is in over her head but is still trying to be a good person despite running from the law

Courier, the mysterious dude on a motorbike, who has a Mysterious Past on top of his general Mysterious Attitude. He's a badass and a better man than he realizes

Brawler, the one who hits things really hard and adopts a tiny idiot twink. It turns out very sad, don't be fooled

Hoodlum, said tiny idiot twink

Hacker, who is supposedly very cold hearted but is also a better man than he realizes

Doctor, who is Yosano if Yosano was genuinely batshit insane

Cutthroat, who is...also batshit insane and a serial killer

This anime balances mystery, horror, and thriller like a pro, and the animation is genuinely really good. The colors? The lighting? The fight scenes and chase sequences? Immaculate. It's also one of those anime where there are no lily-white heroes, only people doing their jobs and people doing their best.

It's really hard to describe this anime without spoiling it because of how many layers of twists and betrayals it has. Every character is more complex than you'd realize and Akudama Drive is not afraid of killing people off/doing terrible things to them in order to tell its story about a futuristic, dystopian Japan. I'll say it's not a light watch by any means, but it's definitely worth giving a try to see if you like the atmosphere.

I saw many many people post on and on about how when xqc went to the club, he was finally planning to rekindle their relationship and do things the ‘right’ way, how they were about to start a ‘fluffy relationship’. At that time I deeply disagreed and now that meatbun clarified? I finally know why.

Xqc wasn’t starting a relationship with he yu, he was simply about to adopt he yu. He yu, as meatbun said, was gonna be another Xie Xue and another chen man to him. He would’ve never reciprocated those feelings as he is too fatherly. Him going to the club wasnt the start of smth new. It was him parenting a child out of making irresponsible decisions because he felt like he owed the child some care, specifically paternal caretaker care. Their relationship would’ve actually stagnated and stopped right there if he would’ve succeeded. It’s why I wasn’t too affected or heartbroken when those ‘plans’ of xqc got scattered away cause…they weren’t romantic and were never gonna be that way?

Meatbun is right, Xqc NEEDS to be dragged down to see he yu as someone on the same level as him to so much as CONSIDER developing feelings for him. Xqc had to have his “I’m his elder” vision forcefully broken to pieces or else this relationship would’ve just take a…very one sided turn

In conclusion? If I can build meatbun a shrine I would, and I still adooooore he yu

hi if it’s not too much trouble do you mind elaborating on the post about the cinematography being better in s7? bc i 100% agree and have been thinking the same but also haven’t really been able to articulate why? like if someone asked me this anon i wouldn’t be able to give them specifics but i KNOW it’s different. sorry 😅

it's definitely not too much trouble i already know this is gonna be long as shit bc i have so many Thoughts on the matter

it is indeed p hard to articulate so i'll give some examples & comparisons n share my thoughts based on that!

first i think it's important to recognize the context of a show like skam. it is made to represent every-day teenagers who might enjoy but not ever relate to characters & stories on some fantasy/murder mystery shows abt teenagers. the very core of skams is realism n accuracy to real life. we as the audience are not only supposed to be onlookers of the events we're meant to feel connected to the stories n relate to the main characters.

skamfr has some VERY beautiful shots if u look at them independently. if someone just showed me a screenshot of one of them i'd be like wow! that's stunning! but that's not what i'm supposed to feel when it comes to skams. if i go watch an artistic full length movie at the theaters i Do want to see beautiful shots that look like art n have a lot of symbolism behind them but when i watch skam i'm supposed to think "that could be me. that looks like my life" i'm not a lowly spectator who could never have such a beautiful life but instead the audience should see their lives directly put on screen.

skam france has been rly consistent w it tho! it's been their brand since like season 3.. but it did get worse in s5 & 6 i think bc they started to try too hard for original storylines. i think it's very intentional n if they were making another show i wouldn't say it's bad rly (altho sometimes it is that too bc they try too hard fmgjkd). out of context a lot of their cinematography works bc they usually tie it into the plot to represent the events but they just picked the wrong style for a web series. like babes u are not submitting this to the academy pls chill.

now let me introduce u to the most despicable shot in skam history (in my humble opinion)

now before anyone says. yes i know this sequence of shots has a purpose. this is exactly what i mean that if it was some other show w different goals it wouldn't be such an issue bc yeah this looks great right? it's a "sensory clip" we r supposed to "hear" what it's like to be deaf n specifically what it's like for arthur. but.

let's put this into skam context. we as the audience should see ourselves in arthur, not necessarily entirely but we should feel he's just like us, a teenager w his own unique struggles & life experiences. now tell me, when u feel depressed or sad or have had the worst week of ur life n u must drag urself to the shower... is this what it feels like? first of all do u take the shower in the fucking dark???? just for the aesthetic?? do u stand DIRECTLY in the middle letting the water hit u exactly on the top of ur head forming a symmetrical shade on u while u just... stand there. do u feel like ur ascending in the shower as u dramatically raise ur chin literally what the actual fuck is this. don't get me wrong sometimes u just actually do stand there doing nothing bc u just feel so horrible but that's not rly the feeling this clip awakens?

this leans a bit into the romanticization of arthur's season which wouldn't be as bad (still cringy but not as bad) if arthur had already accepted himself at this point but no he's basically suffering in the shower n we are looking at him like wow that's so pretty. let's imagine how we could make this clip feel more real n how we could actually see ourselves in him here:

stop making ur main characters of the season the main characters of the world. just bc arthur is feeling terrible doesn't mean the whole world imitates his feelings. in a symbolic movies masterpiece it would but not in a concept like skam. one of the worst things abt feeling terrible is seeing how the world just goes on around u. imagine how real it would feel like if he was in the shower w the generic yellowish light on that a lot of bathrooms have. we could see his silhouette slouching in the shower through a shower screen. or maybe a shot similar to the example pics but the ugly lights are on n the water is annoyingly dripping in his eyes & he doesn't look like they're trying to give him a halo n make him into a jesus archetype. the bathroom would look the same it looks on a rly happy day or a boring day bc this day only sucks for arthur n the universe isn't gonna come to his house to give him a cool background bc of it

same w this comparison

two underwater shots, both rly pretty & heavy on symbolism but the other one is literally waiting for those "this looks like a renaissance painting" comments n the other is rly pretty but still looks like real life humans who r not doing a photo shoot for vogue. which do u find more relatable? which situation makes u think Yeah that's real life?

like look at this camera position of "barely above water" this is like.. almost "ugly" but it's so fucking real n probably closest to the feeling of a first person point of view shot that u can get to

now the s7 camera decisions seem sooooo much better compared to all this. they have a lot of time to still make super dramatic shots that distance the viewer from the story line but so far so good. maybe they'll pick this up again to make the world revolve around tiff as she faces hardships but let's hope not 🙃

i genuinely love this shot like it's super down to earth & feels real but they have still easily kept in the symbolism. like tiff is literally putting walls between others n herself. jo feels like she's literally talking to a wall. tiff feels alone & secluded even tho someone is in the same room as her. yet they didn't have to make it look like smth out of an obscure indie film whose purpose is to have the audience in awe instead of representing them.

yeah the first person point of view of jo going in and out of frame while doing sit ups mightve been weird or cringy but 1. that's skam for y'all & 2. i'll choose that any day over arthur ascending like jesus in the shower.
