k but like im still hung up on how jehan frollo went from being quasi's half brother to his biological father. and the interesting thing is, it actually changes the story a LOT. like, in the book, quasimodo just kind of shows up and frollo adopts him out of fear that that could have been jehan, and he sympathizes with that. more so, quasimodo in the book is more of a representation of the soul of notre dame rather than a character of his own. he exists to serve notre dame, in a way. jehan's just the drunken spoiled younger brother who goes to his brother for money instead of getting a job and living independently. florika doesn’t exist, jehan never gets kicked out of school, and he doesn’t have a child he can’t take care of. it takes away from TONS of the motivation the musical ends up having for the big “what makes a monster and what makes a man” message.

in the musical, as mentioned before, jehan falls in love with a roma woman, they get kicked out and have quasimodo, who jehan, in a last ditch effort, hands over to his brother to take care of. the tone of this action varies from actor to actor. lucas coleman’s jehan seems to give quasimodo away genuinely out of a want for the child to have a successful, good life, and he knows that frollo might be able to give him that. now contrast that with jeremy stolle’s jehan who gives quasimodo to frollo because even on his death bed, he continues to go back to his brother for aid. he perpetuates the notion that jehan was constantly dependent on others up until his dying breath.

regardless of how the action is played out, it’s important that it happens because it sets us up for like...the entire story of hunchback of notre dame. if jehan doesn’t give his newborn child to claude frollo, there’s no story. i think in frollo’s eyes, quasimodo is seen as a sort of “second chance”. he sees how his brother kind of fell from grace and turned to a life of “sin” in the eyes of the catholic church, and how that almost definitely means he’s damned to hell. and remember, that’s his brother, the man he admits to loving the entire time at the end of the show. frollo’s seeing his brother go against everything they were ever taught and to him it results in his death and damnation. that’s insane.

aha, but the child. look, it’s my brothers child that’s kind of fucked up, and comes from (in frollo’s mind) two fucked up parents, maybe i can save him in the way i couldnt save my brother.

jehan frollo being quasimodo’s biological father allows the hunchback of notre dame to begin its entire plot, and gives most of frollo’s motivation for raising quasimodo the way he does which in turn motivates quasimodo to leave the cathedral and the whole thing falls like a domino effect all because jehan frollo gave away his child. the entire action in itself sets up the “what makes a monster and what makes a man” message, and i think that’s something that’s completely lacking in the book.

like ok, i understand that the book was never about social justice, it was about architecture, but if you’re going to make all of these awful characters, i think you should at least give them a solid reasoning for it, because they’re clearly motivated by something, we just never know what. as much as i don’t, and don’t want to, you can’t even put the blame on esmerelda, which you shouldn’t, because she didn’t do anything, but even if you were to try, you couldn’t, because everything that happens to frollo is the result of his own actions and feelings and thoughts.

i’m rambling now and getting off track, but like bro i just wanna know how we got from point A to point B and how that affects the story, and why that change was chosen and implemented.

Their sense of smell tells them as each door is opened that it doesn’t contain her and they move deeper into the complex with an assurance to the omegas that they’re safe now.

Soap, the younger and more impulsive one, nearly crawls out of his skin when they catch a whiff of her down the next hallway.

Johnny either can’t or willfully won’t notice what Simon has, and it twists in his gut like a knife wound.

It takes every ounce of self discipline as they continue on room by room down the hall.

It’s been a wild ride folks. So many good, bad, and downright chaotic things have occurred this year.

I lost my dog back in March, got kicked out by my landlord, questioned whether or not I wanted to find another career, and considered dropping my passion for art entirely. But like most storms, they will always pass, and the sun will shine again. And I’m so utterly grateful for all of the support from my friends and family during these trying times. Y’all really push me to do better, to be better, and to never worry about asking for help.

I move slowly getting off the bed. I get dressed and head to the en suite bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror and start to cry. I splash water on my face, cleaning myself up, the whole-time sobbing.

Rafe comes in the bathroom and stares at me for a minute. I turn to face him and he smacks me on the cheek, not hard enough to bruise, but enough to sting and leave his handprint.

“Stop crying like a cunt,” he mocked me, “You enjoyed it, I think I counted three orgasms from you?”

“It was the drugs” I argue.

“Sure, sure. The explain why you were soaked before I gave you the E?” he asked.

I’m looked away cause I had no answer, at least not one I was willing to admit.

“S’what I thought,” he smirked “Now get downstairs, before I change my mind and take you home, tie you up, and use you all night.”

I ran out of the bedroom and went downstairs, looking for my friends.

Walking around, I finally found John B and Sarah making out in a corner. Pope was in another room trying to woo a girl with coroner talk, the poor girl looked scared for her life. The last room I walked into, JJ and Kie were on a couch, Kie in JJ’s lap making out. My friends, wait no family, didn’t seem to have missed me.

I walked into the kitchen and made me a drink and walked outside to one of the patio chairs. My phone dinged with a message.

Remember our deal and no one finds out. Although with as worried as they were for you, not sure they would seem to care.

I downed my drink and got up to get another one, tears running down my cheeks.

How the fuck did I get in this situation and what was I gonna do. All knew was I hated Rafe Cameron and I would find a way out.

Me, after doing 15 minutes of excessive googling on every Batfam member's birthday only to then realize I've accidentally missed the majority of them this year, and then also finding out that people are still aggressively debating over whether Bruce's birthday is April 7 or February 19, Dick's birthday happens 3-6x throughout the year, and Stephanie might have just popped into existence for all that DC cares:

DISCLAIMER: DC is notorious for being super inconsistent with everything and I am a mere tadpole caught in the tidal wave of DC's ocean. This post will be regularly updated with edits and corrections so please do not use it as word of law, I am begging you.

Update (8/24/23): To keep things more simple and easier for everyone I am going to start categorizing the birth dates I've collected into 3 categories.

-Most popular: Self-explanatory. These are the birth dates that have been canonized and confirmed by DC and are also more wildly celebrated by the fandom. Typically, this should be the first result you see when you google the character's birthday. But not always because DC sucks ass.

-Other date(s): These are the additional birth dates I come across that have been canonized in some form with multiple sources, but are not as wildly celebrated or popularized by DC and/or the fandom. Why am I including them here? Mostly because I don't want people coming in saying I forgot a date. But also because if I have to see this mess, then y'all have too as well.

-Potential but unconfirmed date(s): This is where I will put all the other additional dates I find, but specifically those that are lacking in complete sources or seem to be highly debated and scrutinized.

Also fun emoji ranking guide for me and me alone:

👑👑: Queen Shit. Characters with a consistent and simple birth date(s). Can absolutely do no wrong.

👑😮‍💨: In the Running. Characters who don't have a set birth date, but the mess is minor and completely DC's fault. They shouldn't have to be punished for DC's crimes.

🤡🤡: Gtfo. Shit is so inconsistent and stupidly messy that it's making me lose my shit. I'm putting DC and the characters on trial for this bullshit.
