-Muzan and Kagaya are cousins. They despise each other. They are forced to be civil when the extended family gets together around the holidays, and have an unspoken agreement that they have to pretend to get along for the sake of their relatives. Kagaya is much better at this than Muzan. Amane holds her tongue, but she and Kagaya talk mad shit in the car on the way home.

-Mitsuri is going to art school, and desperately wants to student-teach in Tengen’s art class. He always refuses, mainly out of a very warranted fear that his students will like her better than him. 

-When Kyojuro’s hearing is having an especially bad day, he can really struggle to speak to Obanai, who is soft spoken and wears a mask, so Kyojuro cannot read his lips. They will get stuck in loops of “what? Sorry, what?”, and Kyojuro feels bad about making Obanai take his mask off, so sometimes he’ll ask Obanai to write things down or just sign to him instead.

-When it gets especially cold outside, Tanjiro will force Inosuke to accept his coat by yammering about how much he appreciated him and how sad he would be if Inosuke caught a cold. If he gets flustered and giddy enough, Inosuke will agree to wear the coat so Tanjiro will be happy.

-During Zenitsu’s first week at the academy, he referred to the Ubuyashikis as “Beauty and the Beast”, and was overheard by Amane. He has faith that someday she’ll realize the error of her ways and abandon Muzan’s regime of terror. Amane is not convinced, and actively takes any chance she can get to thwart Nakime’s casual espionage.

-Tengen loves to watch anime, being the art nerd and flashy bastard that he is. His favorite is Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, and he often tries to peer pressure Kyojuro into watching it. Kyojuro tends to have a hard time following what on earth is happening in that show, but he does enjoy some of the more tame ones.

-Following the Halloween festival, Kokushibo developed a casual interest in cooking. He’s gotten quite good with a bit of practice. Rumor has it that he makes an extremely good curry, and it’s become Yoriichi’s favorite.

hi ! first of all thank you SOOOOOO much that means sm to me it genuinely makes me so happy to know that you enjoy my writing. !!

speaking of writing..it took me a while to figure out a system i was comfortable with. i'm a little all over the place in general and that translates a lot in my drafts ESPECIALLY LMFAOO if you caught one glance at my drafts it's mostly just a prompt of a few sentences and w spelling mistakes in every word cus i write them down so fast so as not to forget them LMFAOOO. but it really works for me !

i know a lot of people say it but it really works, literally just write ! it doesn't have to come out as a full beautifully crafted piece immediately, just write down anything you can and polish it up all you want later ! forcing inspiration to come to you almost always has the opposite effect, for me anyways !

for flow, i think i like to mostly write dialogue between characters out first and then write my descriptions and actions around that ! i always get more excited about writing dialogue more than descriptions (not that those can't be fun ofc !)

oh , this might help for imagery ! and idk if you've noticed but the structure of a lot of my writing is heavily based on animes and manga. like the set ups and punchlines. (massive nerd ik) like if you read some of my one shot's like this one, this one (probably one of my fav fics i've done btw) or my first born series FBRC, (especially this part) (this part was actually the one i was most excited to write, and it's heavily based off of kobayashi's dragon maid's actual good and not weird moments and soundtrack, listening to music also helps me out a lot too!)

i try to model my speech to what i think an anime episode of the scenario i thought about would look like. visualizing my writing helps me write a lot as well, if that helps ! a little fun fact for you, fujimoto's writing has influenced a lot of the way i describe situations in fics, since i really like the sorta 'childish' descriptions over super fancy ones (cus i can't write those, but i don't really like them veerry much, but a lot of them are enjoyable to read!!) i find it very endearing and it's one of the reasons why i enjoy writing childhood friends to lovers so much. it's this sorta simplistic level of thinkin that kids have if that makes sense and it works out really well if you wanna write fluffy pieces if that makes sense

some examples ! :

"he drags you around a little too hard but it's to show you something he knows you'd like and you repay him by being patient with him and letting him drag you around to his hearts content. he let’s you use the crayons he’d just denied another classmate seconds ago and when it’s really early in the morning and you’re still sleepy unlike your more energetic friend, he waits for you. sitting with you in the reading corner quietly commenting on a little bit of everything in the book you’re sharing until you’re awake enough to start the day because katsuki wanted you to be together through anything no matter what, starting the day without you was simply unimaginable."

"despite his quieter presence he always seemed to stand out to you. his bag is big enough to carry everything he needs without having to shove anything inside or leaving it half opened. he wipes his mouth with a tissue after he's done eating his lunch alone and his handwriting is pretty. his lashes are long and he's pretty."

"you hated it when people said that because the shoto you knew wasn't like that. he knew people talked about him and he hated being associated with his father. he likes the caramel you sneak in for him at school and you like the way his eyes light up when he guesses the flavour of fruit candies you make him taste. the shoto you know that ties your shoes for you and shares his umbrella with you, the one who half heartedly stomps into wet puddles with you, the one with the pretty lashes and pretty smile and pretty handwriting isn't like that."

there are a lot of other examples (im OBSESSED with this trope can you tell.) i like these sorts of simplistic childish ways of love. tiny little specks of affection that make the heart so much fonder in such little big ways..if that makes sense :>

i dunno if im just very..special, but since i have a lot of oc's and scenarios constantly flowing in my brain, most of my ideas just tend to be what i dreamed about the night before, or what i daydreamed about LMAOO. even random things that happened to me at school sorta go from "oh it would be funny if this happened to [insert character]" and then they snowball into more and more thorough ideas !

and of course as cheesy as it is the most important part is to have fun ! i cannot stress enough how important it is to be in the mindset when you're writing. it's like when people say to force yourself to draw so you don't 'lose it.' and i do think it can work to jog inspiration, but i believe that as long as you enjoy it, you'll never truly lose it. so i say, write when you feel like it and don't write if you don't, it can truly be very draining. but it's all up to what feels better for you !

- when someone dropped some of the lotf play lore about simon's name being "Cambourne" i saw a few ppl have an irrational hatred of it lmfaooo and i told my friends about his last name and somehow they were like "NO SIMON OF MINE WILL HAVE THE LAST NAME 'CAMBOURNE'" 💀 so i did a lil bit of research and gave him the last name "Celeste" instead because apparently it comes from the word "heavenly" in Latin and it just sounds cooler. if you hate the surname "Cambourne" for Simon dude actually ayo hol up lemme know in the comments down below and give your take on why you hate it, im always down to read other ppl's opinions and hot takes frrr

sorry to add to the #discourse about the werlyt stuff in ffxiv, and feel free to ignore this, but your posts just got me thinking about how the average western consumer of japanese media doesn't know how to spot signs of japanese nationalism in their fave game, movie, anime, etc. For example, I remember a couple of weeks ago on twitter someone said that Miyazaki's works feature prominent elements of japanese nationalism despite not necessarily being pro-war, and both the replies and QRTs were an absolute disaster. ffxiv is a liberal game, its politics are not exceptional; they just aren't (as) egregious

Considering the social locations of people who make a piece of media and how that location affects the way they write things, like politics, isn't an outlandish concept. But ffxiv fans always seem hyperdefensive about this and i cannot understand why

yeah for sure! imo people are getting better about it (don't think it even registered in most of the english-speaking side of the internet's heads that there was a pacific theater for a long time), with more eastern media being translated and gaining popularity that DOES legitimately have leftist authors, but you still have a ton of "how can this work have jp nationalist elements when they say War is Bad 🤨". feels like a lot of this is cause really anime/manga/games were so vaunted as the ultimate escape for americans (not exclusive) and now that people are gaining more of a political consciousness, there's this need for the things that are nostalgic and soothing for them to be "good" media without Problems. which is like. not the point man. though people have always studied and conversed about media trends and the influence of eras on the art created within them and there's always been a knee-jerk You're Being Crazy reaction to it (even though if it's a conversation they're not interested in right now, the people who have this reaction usually can always just...step out lol), I feel like it's just magnified by the way social media uhh does all that. and on top of it a lot of discourse is in bad faith, so sometimes not giving people the time of day DOES seem like the correct and safe option every time but it's like...some people apply it so broadly and blindly that it's basically anything that upsets me = wrong and bullshit.

And you're totally right about xiv LMFAOOO it feels like some people are compelled to do damage control for the game like it's personal. you'd assume that everyone is working off of the recognition that ffxiv is a mass market product and a feel-good fantasy and the writing may not even reflect the totality of a writer's beliefs, but rather what they believe is the median, liberal truth that they're willing to sell. sometimes in oddball places you can find hints of something more genuine but these are exceptions. & acting like it's proofed from this is suggesting that somehow final fantasy fourteen the mmo is interested in breaking any status quos and the whole of its creators have collectively managed to break apart from the time and history they exist in, when in truth it relies on it to guide its writing and business plan. i don't think this is a crazy controversial thing. it's a normal thing. & i cant really speak for how other people are talking about it, but i rarely suggest malevolence in my critiques of the shit I enjoy moreso than I'm saying Le Hegemony Has Arrived....something not even individual people can escape myself included much less a corporation....but the accusation is assumed anyway. Baizhu doesn't care for Qiqi. He only does the bare minimum needed to keep her around. The same could be said for you. He's not too sure what you are, but you're similar enough to Qiqi and nobody seems to be looking after (or for) you so that leaves him- as a benevolent caretaker and doctor -no choice but to take care of you. You don't speak much and when you do it's warbled worlds. He can never make sense of over half your sentences. Qiqi seems to understand but she's not one who can be depended on for translation. Qiqi says it's okay here, it's better than wherever else you were. Probably. It was definitely a change to be stolen taken in by a doctor and his assistant. Being alone in the mountains and doing everything yourself and then being with someone who wants to do it all for you is... a drastic change to say the least. People who come across you would label you similar to a wild animal, if not in looks than in temperament. Baizhu doesn't seem to mind, ever patient and doting. The other man who you see around often is also kind. He and Baizhu don’t seem to get along too well, but you go with him and Qiqi on walks sometimes. He’s tall and has glowing amber eyes that seem to hold every secret in the world. You feel like you should know him. Aside from all the changes, life is good enough. Better. —————————— You used to touch the long, ivory sticks that came out of your head and marveled at how they looked when you caught your reflection. People would always stare and coo when they saw you, if you went out that day, and children would point at you and loudly talk to their parents. Qiqi told you not to worry, they just thought you looked neat. So when Baizhu took them away -he called them "antlers"- you weren’t sure what to think. Qiqi said people liked them, but Baizhu didn’t like that. Your head felt light and empty. You didn’t like that. The next time you saw the amber eyed man, he growled and snarled at Baizhu. It reminded you of the wildlife when you were in the mountains. Reminded you of home. The air was wet and heavy the rest of the day, it was almost hard to breathe. Like when you get high up on a mountain and the air is too thin. You didn’t like that. You felt like you didn’t like a lot of things recently. Qiqi left for a walk but Baizhu told you to stay in. You did. You stayed in the next few days too. Life is good. Ok. —————————— You were sick. Had been for a week now. The icky, sleepy, achey sick you get when a snake bites you. Baizhu was giving you medicine for your sickness, but you felt that it was taking forever. He was teaching you the language while you were in bed though, so that was nice. You missed the walks with the amber eyed man, but Qiqi came in every evening to tell you all about her own adventures and that was enough to satisfy you. For now. You were starting to itch for the mountains again, the domestication not taking kindly to you. You were starting to wonder if life down here was making you sick. Your head was fuzzy more often and you were sure the crisp mountain air would clear it up. You mentioned a trip to Baizhu but he seemed appalled at the idea, talking about how he wouldn’t make it with his bad health and how the people need him here. You slept the next three days. When you woke you could hear the amber eyed man, but were too weak to call him over.  Next time, once you medication kicks in. Life will get better. Hope. —————————— Another week, you knew you were wasting away. You needed the mountains. You couldn’t move. Qiqi never came to tell you stories anymore, you wondered if she had grown bored of you. i have basic bitch taste in anime but i genuinely love these idc.

1. fullmetal alchemist brotherhood: perfect mix of comedy, serious moments, action, character and plot development, music. must watch for any anime fan.

2. akame ga kill: the plot isn’t perfect but i really enjoy the fast paced action, character design, it is similar to fmab because it’s like serious but also lots of goofy moments and some classic anime comedy.

3. death note: it was really popular back then for a reason. it’s a really good “what if” kind of plot, like imagine if you were just at school one day and a death god/shinigami was bored and dropped a notebook that kills anyone you write down. the main character is an absolute lunatic and villain but you basically root for him the entire time and it’s just such a suspenseful plot that has a lot of memorable characters & intense OST.

Since you like drawing anatomy is there a part you like drawing most or least?

I love drawing hands. It's such a weird thing to like but they're just so posable and they really hold a lot of information. It's also just so satisfying to add each finger lmfaooo. One thing I don't like drawing is the torso. Like oh my goddddd, I get way too confused trying to figure out how to move it around. ALSO FACES. I hate faces with a burning passion.

How did you get a hang of drawing certain things like hands, feet, faces etc?

I used to absolutely hate drawing hands. I'd hide them every and any way I could lmao. But I started using LineOfAction and did the hands practice photos and eventually started to get the hang of it. The more I drew them and stopped hiding, the better I got. It also helps to really break the hands down so you're thinking smaller instead of bigger. Each section of the palm is a shape vs the entire hand as one shape. It makes it easier to tackle.

As for feet, I never understood it until I watched this one video by DrizzleDrawing. It basically breaks the foot down into three shapes. The heel. arch. and toes. You can layer/foreshorten these shapes and it makes the foot look a lot more dimensional and accurate. I don't really know how to explain this in writing haha.

And for faces... I have no mastered faces at all. I'm still hiding from them. But if I've learned anything from my past experinces, I need to just face my fears (pun intended) and start drawing them more instead of hiding.

What phase of the art process in your favorite? (Sketching, lining, rendering etc)

SKETCHING!! I love sketching so much oh my goddddd. I have millions of sketches. I swear they always look so much better than my finished pieces. As soon as I do lineart or add colours my art just goes downhill lmfao.

How many layers do you usually have on a piece?

I like to combine layers as I move along. Normally I'll have my sketch layer. A line art layer. A layer for each base colour. Then a clipping mask layer on each of those base colour layers for shading. After that I kinda just add layers whenever I need them and start merging them when I can.

Do you find people, objects or animals easy or harder than one another? (Rephrased, which is easier, which is harder?)

Objects are the hardest because I'm horrible at understanding dimension and perspective. I've never been formally taught the theories of it so I just make shit up and hope it looks okay. Animals are some of my favourite things to draw though I don't do it often. I love cats in particular. They're probably the easiest for me to draw.

In fact, I used to only draw animals and never draw humans. I just started branching into humans a few years ago so I'm still getting the hang of it. I'd say they're relatively easy to draw until I get to the face. Then I'm screwed haha.

Do you often add backgrounds to pieces if so how simple or how complex to they normally get?

Because I don't really get perspective much, I try to avoid complex backgrounds. However, if I'm up for a challenge, I love making detailed pieces with backgrounds or settings. It's super fun to decorate and create a space. I need to work on my perspective and object drawing so I can do better at it.

Do you prefer simplistic drawings or do you like adding details/making detailed pieces?

I like a good mix of both honestly. I think too much detail can clutter and too simplistic can be 'boring'. So when I make a piece that's simple with just flat colours, I try to compensate by adding lots and lots of content and flow for the viewers eyes to move around. But if I make a really complex rendered piece I try to simplify the subject so there's not too much going on. If I have a very very simple subject, like painting a single flower, I try to compensate by adding something unique or creative. Like a slash of black paint and a value change or something like that. I think it's really just a balancing act and I like to stay towards the middle.

How'd you find your style?

Honestly still don't feel like I have a style. It changes so much. But the more I drew the more it developed.

I think the other biggest thing was taking in as much information as I could. I would watch my brother draw ever since I was a little kid. I observed the techniques he used and I took what I liked and kept it, and I modify what I didn't like, and discarded what I hated. I watch a lot of artists on YouTube too just to see how they do different things and pick up random miscellaneous tips that all combined to develop my style. I think it's also really important to immerse yourself in art. I follow literally like 400 artists on Instagram and I'm constantly being bombarded with the curated art I love and it helps inspire me. Just examining and appreciating the art allows me to find things I like and try to replicate it.

Finding your art style is just as much finding what you like as it is finding what you don't like. You gotta observe first. Then develop by drawing.

I hc that Don has botanokinesis, or plant manipulation. It’s a basic power, if he’s in a good mood, he’ll nurture any plant life he touches. If the opposite is true, plants will wilt. (which is why his rose regains its color in title defense if he wins)

the spooky part comes in where the power affects don physically. it makes some kind of dark/black sprawling pattern grow over parts of his body and little red dots to appear instead of his pupils (the growths are namely on his fingertips and around his eyes, but also his lips, his cheeks, his chest, etc.)

the scariest part is that his power *can* harm living beings other than plant life. if he were to grab onto someone while he were upset, it would feel super cold, and if he held on long enough, you’d actually feel your limb going numb. pretty scary stuff! but hey, that’s my kinda stuff

the markings on his body sound unsettling imo— which i luvvv omg— and it's interesting to think abt. knowing how sassy extravagant (if that's the right word) he is, don most likely buys CRATESS of concealer to hide the markings that he can't hide while in the ring. i'd assume most of the boxers are aware of don's botanokinesis, but the audience isn't, so any boxers walking into the locker rooms would probably walk in on don caking his chest in expensive concealer to hide the markings LMFAOOO

he's also got brown contacts to hide the little red dots in his eyes. it's a pain in the ass to have them on in the ring, but it's an even bigger pain in the ass to explain to people why your pupils are tiny red dots yk (#justdonflamencothings💕)

whenever don gets asked about his "magic rose" in interviews or by fans, he usually just dances around it by saying "a magician never reveals his secrets" or something like that. little do they know🤨

he definitely keeps all the roses he gets thrown at him in his victory (?) animation and nurtures them back to full health whenever they get all wilted. don keeps them in this giant vase that sits on his balcony/near a window and he treats them like his kids 100%. in addition to those, he has a shit ton of other plants in his living space as well

AND THAT ALSO EXPLAINS WHY HE ALWAYS HAS THAT FUCKIN ROSE W HIM IN THE RING... he's always nurturing it back to life😭😭 but with this head canon i'm now permanently sayinf that the rose seen in every single cutscene is the same exact one. it was given to him by carmen on their first date and, when not in the ring, is either in its own special vase at home or somewhere safe in his bag/locker. his locker had a separate vase in it just for this rose

my friend and i made natsuo and shigaraki in the sims on a whim and they speedran a whole 300k roommates to lovers slow burn in 5 days lmfAOOO they got married in front of agatha crumplebottom and no one else

it happened to my izaya when i regrettably downloaded the sims myself today but he at least didnt get trauma from it bksjhksjds natsuo really channeling the todoroki family energy

we went for more pretty boy looks than canonical accuracy because i dont think there's a way for the spiky anime natsu naruto natsuo hair type to remotely look good in the sims

but now shigaraki looks like kreyul from nightmare factory/death rescheduled which is hilarious to me (death rescheduled is really fun webtoon you should read it!! not focused on romance, more of an action/thriller, the character writing is hilarious)

we only went for shiggy in the first place because i thought itd be funny to make the eyes red and hair green (christmas colors) and my friend was like bro no at least make it blue or something that green is so ugly and then we realized that red eyes + blue hair is none other than the Epic Gamer himself
